#Andrealphus isn’t even worth it

Have we talked about how the creators couldn’t even let Stella be the Big Bad and invented her brother just to take that away from her yet?

Something I think is very much worth considering when analyzing the oppressive, classist societal system we’re seeing in Helluva Boss, most notably in the latest episode:

Satan is not really a ‘tyrant’ in the way I think a lot of people have started viewing him as. At least, he’s NOT some ‘usurper’ who has ‘seized power’ in Lucifer’s absence and now ‘rules with an iron fist’ with no one powerful enough to stand against him. For one, I think it’s pretty clear that this position as the ‘Lawman of Hell’ is a role that Satan has always held, even before Lucifer left.

Rather, let’s consider the fact that while Satan might be the one enforcing this oppressive system, he is FAR from the only one supporting or BENEFITING from it.

We have Mammon, possibly Leviathan, and basically the ENTIRE Goetia royalty who are clearly in FULL, enthusiastic support of this system.

Meanwhile Leviathan and Belphagor (assuming the former isn’t in full support of this system like Mammon) seem to be either too apathetic or too blissed out to really care, which likely also applies to pretty much any ‘not enthusiastically classist/racist’ Goetia as well.

Which just leaves Asmodeous and Beelezbub and MAYBE a handful of Goetia like Vassago who actually DO care and want to do something to help.

Really, I think the ‘vote’ we saw this episode is a clear demonstration of why there is only so much Ozzie and Bee can actually do. They are outnumbered, even among their fellow Sins.

I think it’s not so much that Satan ‘seized’ power in Lucifer’s absence. Rather, without Lucifer there is no one to truly CHECK the power that Satan already has. Sure, maybe a majority of the other Sins might be able to do that as well, but as we see, THAT isn’t happening either.

Satan is not some all-powerful tyrant running an oppressive system. While he may be considered the ‘face’ of that system, he is simply the enforcer of an oppressive system run by many powerful people who benefit from it. With any in power who might want to change things being too few to really do anything about it.

This is why I feel like what we are seeing here is not so much setup for conflict in Helluva Boss, but rather setup for a future plotline in Hazbin Hotel.

Because unlike Blitzo, Stolas or even Ozzie and Bee, CHARLIE is in fact someone who COULD do something about all this.

Even without Lucifer’s help (who I imagine will be indisposed due to other factors for the sake of not making all this TOO easy), Charlie DOES have the influence, charisma and if all else fails the raw strength to actually change things.

Whether by giving Asmodeus and Beelzebub the support they need, snapping/slapping Belphagor and Leviathan out of whatever detached apathy they’re in or maybe just giving Satan, Mammon and the entire Goetia court a brutal ass-kicking.

Probably all of the above.

All in all, I think Satan is a really great example of an antagonistic character who is very much A 'bad guy', but at the same time is not THE 'Bad Guy'. In the thematic sense that Satan is very much part of the oppressive system yet is very much NOT the root cause of it.

And in the narrative sense; both short-term in the fact that Andrealphus is very much the actual 'main bad guy' of this episode, and in the long-term of Satan likely being much more of an antagonist for Charlie in Hazbin Hotel, rather than anyone in Helluva Boss.

Barbie & Blitzo angst

A sort of mini au for my “Blitzo suffering” headcanons. Yet another imagining of “ok but what if someone rescued him”, but from the framing of his sister who’s also suffering and is about to get thrown in the deep end. Poor Barbs.

This draft is totally finished and edited and everything, I would need to tag it though which would not be the most fun. Definitely would make me super super anxious to post it.

just utter graphic torment for a really little Blitzo. Cus I have lots of feelings ok. I feel self conscious about fics like this fjdbdjdbjd and it’s worse than stuff I’ve posted before, even if it’s the same genre. But yeah I worked super hard on this fic and it’s all written and edited. I have tags drafted so that wouldn’t be so terrible. It’s just … scary to post. Is all. I feel like I wanna have something soft and sweet to post alongside it to soften the blow. Idk. Overthinking.

The fic is like 80% finished but needs more writing and editing before it’s done. But I have a lot of strong feelings about this fic and I really wanna keep working on it. It gives me a little anxiety to think of other people reading, but if it turns out to be well written it’s art I’d want to share anyway.

With some added trans headcanons lol. Just a wish fulfillment “what if gays happy. What if no bad life.” These little teenagers are so sweet and haven’t been beaten down or made horrible decisions yet and I love them dearly. The issue is it’s a longer story than I usually have the focus to write and I don’t have a ton written yet. Also I don’t have a great ending written down. But this story is dear to me so I kinda want to try finishing it anyway.

I’m probably forgetting some stuff lol. And I’m a chronic WIP-er, there’s tons of other drafts I could pull out if only my brain had the ability to focus.

It was true that Andrealphus loved attention more than your average bird — however, he only liked attention when it was levelled upon him for a positive reason. Awe-filled gazes that lingered on his exquisitely dressed form? An appreciative stare as he made a flawlessly articulated argument during a debate? Those things were all more than welcome, even if Andrealphus attempted to pretend that he didn’t practically glow at the positive attention. What he didn’t appreciate was being given attention for anything that would get his name thrown around when people were busily gossiping.

The ice-cold peacock clenched his fists into tight balls where they lay in his lap, a sharp look of displeasure set deep onto his features. How could the feline prince so expertly miss the point? Of course no one in their right mind would approach him in public, but to slander him behind his back? that was a different story. “Yes, well, that might be the case, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t unbecoming of a man of your status to be so…” he paused for a moment to find the right word, “…unrestrained,” he huffed out the word as he dared glance momentarily towards the woman he’d successfully silenced before gazing back to Sitri. The cat had moved somewhat closer, voice low in an almost conspiratorial way.

Andrealphus arched an eyebrow delicately upwards as he leant forward slightly to match the cat. “Is that so?~” he hummed out quietly. Believe it or not, he wasn’t arrogant enough to think that anyone thought him truly on the same status as the other princes yet — he wasn’t born into power, and therefore, unfortunately, he’d need to prove his worth. It must be nice to have not a single concern about what others thought about you…to know that they had no power over you. “I have no team, Sitri. You make it sound as though Satan has some sort of vested interest in me. I can assure you he doesn’t…he merely heard the logic in my words. Delivered justice as is befitting of his position,” the words were simple, precise and unfaltering.

That was the brutal truth — Andrealphus did not have a single friend. The closest thing to a friend that the icy peacock could claim to have was his darling sister. In their sinister plotting, trivial gossiping and vain pampering there was comfort. Stella was, perhaps, the only soul that was ever allowed to see him in an unrestrained and authentic manner. They knew each others flaws, and they knew their shared trauma, yet through their blood-bond they knew they would always be loyal to each other. It was his duty but, more than that, and it was his lifeline. If Andrealphus didn’t have Stella then he would have no one. A life spent in a constant lie.

There was a hostile narrowing of Andrealphus’ turquoise eyes as Sitri began to laugh. There wasn’t anything intentionally funny in what he’d said, so why was the cat laughing so much? For a moment the peacock trailed his mind backward over everything he had said in order to try and find a misstep, but there was nothing. Luckily, Sitri soon enlightened him as to where the joke lay. The tea? Really? Andrealphus rolled his eyes, “That is different. I hardly want to burn my tongue,” As difficult as it might be to grasp, he was very sensitive to heat — his body, including his tongue, ran cold.

At the boisterous laughing and disapproving looks, Andrealphus looked as though he wished he were able to turn invisible. An icy blush crept up his neck and dusted across his cheeks, a hand coming to rest atop his temples — partly to try and soothe his oncoming headache and partly to shield his face. As though the outrageous individual flair of his outfit wouldn’t make it obvious it was him from a mile off. “…there’s really no need to cause a spectacle…” the words slipped from his lips accompanied with a soft huff.

in a Crossover AU, Chara ends up going to Hell after the failed attempt to take the souls of the humans from the village.

and they end up being adopted by Arackniss.

Chara seemingly looks like a human child, but if one moves their bangs out of the way they will see that their sclera are both dark red.

the red knife that Chara is holding is a Toy Knife, because Arackniss wont allow them to have a real one (even if Chara can still summon the real ones)

“Nesser” is a nonbinary counterpart of “Son” and “Daughter”....

is it weird after finding out about Stella’s Brother, I kind of want to call him “Andy” as a nickname.

his full name is  Andrealphus and one of the info about him from a Occult-World, is that he is a Fallen Angel and 65th of the 72 Spirits of Solomon.

I just wanted to look up some info about Andrealphus.

bet no one saw the day that some descendant of King Solomon, would give one of the “72 Spirits of Solomon” a nickname...well the Helluva Boss version of him.

Andrealphus’s design for Helluva Boss, reminds me of snow and I love snow.

well I like it when snow falls gently and how it can cover the whole ground.

I wonder if other fans would end up nicknaming Stella’s Brother “Andy” as well..?

well maybe not everyone, but maybe a few.

don’t know which episode he will appear on, but it might be worth the wait.

Arackniss being in a purple suit, just seem to work for him, and he looks awesome in purple.

picture Arackniss is at home, and his Nesser Chara got into both the chocolate and sugar, starts running around, like both on the ceiling, walls and floor.

and his boyfriend Sir Pentious comes at the worse times, like when Arackniss is trying to get Chara to come down off the ceiling and gets them to calm down.

picture this version of  Chara is all like “ANARCHY!” and “DOWN WITH THE OVERLORDS!”

and Arackniss is like “Chara, Daddy’s tired...you can take down the overlords once Daddy’s headache goes away.”

if this version of Chara is Feminine Aligned Nonbinary, they could go by both Daughter and Nesser, there are different types of Nonbinary and some will still go by she/her or he/him pronouns along with the they/them pronouns.

Arackniss asking whoever to stop provoking Chara, would be for their own good....cause he let’s go of Chara, they will possibly try to give the unseen individual a Bad Time.

the only times he lets them do that, would probably be during extermination day.           

this is of course Fanon, and isn’t Canon....

maybe sometime I will do another family drawing of Arackniss and Chara.
