Yanno, we keep talking about how Andre let Chloé get away with whatever but I was thinking about it and like, Marinette also gets away with so much shit too. The only difference other than Marinette being the "good" protagonist is that people don't see her doing said shit and we don't see Tom and Sabine reacting to it. She doesn't get reprimanded and if she does it doesn't stick. Like, if they were as good of parents as the show claims they are (which, as of Derision is up in the air since it doesn't seem like they did anything about their daughter being bullied in school) then Marinette would be so fuckin dead because of what happened in the Shanghai special and also the piss window.
I mean the problem is less Tom and Sabine's potential parenting skills and more just. They're not allowed to know about things and the things the may have heard about aren't treated as 'bad' by the narrative.
The Chloé thing is a little funky due to like. In 'Origins' they know about Chloé but she's just an annoyance everyone rolls their eyes at so while it's commented on it's not bad enough for them to get more involved than they have been. But the Derision retcon might have made Chloé soooo much worse and traumatizing, but Marinette refuses to tell them what's happened so they can't do anything. At best they know she's having trouble with something between her nerves and the detentions she keeps getting, but they can't do anything if she won't tell them what's going on.
That said: What should they do in that situation? They can't force Chloé to behave. They can't talk to Chloé's parents because at best they'll brush them off and let her keep doing what she's doing, but more likely she'll be encouraged to do what she's doing and might even be given advice of 'be subtle so you don't get caught'. The teachers either can't or won't do anything. Best option would be to transfer one of them to a different class, but that wouldn't protect her between classes. The only surefire way to stop this would be changing schools entirely, but that cuts Marinette off from her friends even more than Chloé does in the first place.
There's not really a good solution to be had there other than her parents providing support and shutting down things when they can. Which, if we /try/ to combine the retcons with Canon, makes it seem like they at least got the teachers to believe that Marinette isn't at fault so at least she doesn't get punished for Chloé's actions anymore.
As for the other things though:
Tom and Sabine never find out about a lot of the sketch stuff Marinette does. Bringing up the Shanghai Special: They 100% believe that she wanted to go on the trip to visit her uncle, not to stalk Adrien. They don't know about it, they can't talk to her about how that's not okay and how disrespectful it was to use them like that.
But all the stalker shit? Her behavior toward Kagami during Season 2 and 3? Stealing people's phones? All the times when even the narrative treats Marinette like she's in the wrong? They don't get to know about any of it and can't deal with it.
Then we get to things like the piss window where that's treated as a /good/ thing. So if they do know about it, they're not going to punish her for it because it was Totally The Right Thing To Do™.
We do have some evidence of how if she screwed up they'd handle it in Simon Says. Marinette was having so many absences (due to Ladybug shenanigans) that they grounded her so they could help keep track of her so she'd stop being absent.
However it's just. Never brought up again even though Marinette is supposedly still being late to class every fucking day and skipping for Ladybug shenanigans and is supposed to be one of her major stresses of how she keeps missing important school/social/home duties because Ladybug duties take priority.
And on one hand that's annoying because she's still struggling but it's only brought up the one time? Which implies that either her parents stopped caring or the school stopped reporting Marinette's tardiness/absences/missing homework/etc.
On the other hand: The trope of our underage superhero having to constantly be grounded and thought of as a disrespectful delinquent by their parent(s) because they have a secret identity and can't explain that their behavior isn't just 'skipping school and purposely tanking their grades and refusing to do chores all of a sudden' they just have to go save the world..... it gets very tiring after a bit. It's frustrating and begins to make the parents look like jerks for punishing a character who doesn't deserve it even though they are by all logic doing the right thing.
So even that one is a double-edged sword.
Not to mention just even in general like. They're parents in a children's superhero cartoon. If they paid attention like the good parents we are supposed to think of them as, then they would break parts of the plot that allows Marinette to do things she probably shouldn't, up to and including being a Superhero. So they have to remain ignorant by nature of the narrative even though they're supposed to be good parents. It's part of the genre and isn't necessarily the fault of ML.
So yeah it's. I roll with the fact that they're supposed to be good parents and would handle things better if they were allowed to know and if the narrative treated said actions as bad. But it's. It's just. *gestures to the lack of communication and questionable morals of the whole show*

School Spirits: Ghost girl, her gay bff, and their buds solve the mystery.
I'm a sucker for teenage ghost stories, as long as they are comedies, so I reviewed the first episode of School Spirits on Netflix
Maddie (Peyton List) wakes up in the boiler room of her high school. Her blood is splattered around. But that's not the worst part: she's dead! She can't touch or move anything. She can see and hear the living , but they can't see or hear her. And she can't leave the campus!
Her self-appointed guide is Charlie (Nick Pugliese, center), a gay kid who died in the school during the 1990s (peanut allergy, not hate crime). He advises her to not try to remember how she died, since she can't change anything: no communication with the living is possible. But don't ghosts communicate with people all the time? Maybe in the next episode. And becoming fixated on the past is dangerous: some band members who died in a bus crash many years ago are obsessively performing the school fight song, over and over.
Charlie introduces Maddie to some other ghosts from various decades, notably Wally (Milo Mannheim, top photo and right), who died on the football field, and wishes that he had managed to shower first; and the Goth Kirsten, who was murdered by her guidance counselor.
Mr. Martin (Josh Zuckerman), a teacher who died in the school, offers regular group therapy, with regular homework ("write your obituary"). This doesn't get boring after 20 years because ghosts don't experience time in the same way that the living do. He also advises Maddie to resist checking up on her living friends, as they will gradually forget her and move on.
Of course, Maddie doesn't listen. She tries to recall events leading up to her death: first, she made plans with her BFFs, Simon (Kristian Ventura) and Nicole, to see Carrie that night.
Her boyfriend Xavier (Spencer MacPherson) was skipping class, and texted her to join him for a smooch session in his car. She talked him into going to the movie. They met the others after class with the tickets. And that's it.
Out in the living world, Maddie's body has not been found, so she gets "missing person" posters and "thoughts and prayers" in class. The BFFs think that this is ridiculous: they should be out looking for her. Suddenly Xavier's bag flies open: he has Maddie's cell phone! Why didn't he tell anyone for the last three days? This makes him the prime suspect in her murder. The sheriff (Ian Tracey, left), who also happens to be his Dad, arrests him.
Beefcake: Charlie's "office" is the shower room in the boy's gym, where he can watch an endless parade of butts.
Gay Characters: Charlie, and maybe Maddie's living bff, Simon. A future episode shows us Charlie’s high school boyfriend, Emilio, who is now all grown up, married to another guy, and teaching at the schoo (played as an adult by Andres Soto, seen here doing...um)
The Mystery: "Who killed Maddie, and why?" It's obviously not Xavier or one of her bffs, and those are the major living characters introduced to date. I also hope that we have some subplots involving the other ghosts.
My Grade: A-
The NSFW version of this review, with Andres Soto desnudo, is on Righteous Gemstones Beefcake and Boyfriends. (No connection to the show: it's just where I put NSFW reviews).

Admit it. There are times when you wish you could get away from it all by moving to your own private island. Well, some cruise passengers actually can at least for a day. Each of the following cruise lines below offer passengers a day of fun in the sun on their very own private island. For many cruisers, this stop is the highlight of the trip. After all, what could be better than sitting on a white-sand beach, drinking a pia colada and soaking in the rays without crowds? "It's a wonderful destination, we will come back next year for sure!" All of these islands have pristine shores, swaying palm trees, aquamarine waters and lots of ocean-side adventure. There usually are fees for shore excursions and equipment rental. Every destination offers something a little different for cruise passengers.
View of buildings on the coast of tropical island San Andres y Providencia Even at first glance, CocoCay looks like the quintessential Caribbean hideaway. There are wide stretches of beach in quiet coves, island huts in bright Caribbean pinks and blues, and a colorful straw market offering Bahamian crafts and goods. Many of the island buildings look brand new and they are. In 2002, the company invested more than US$ 21 million to turn this 140-acre (0.5 km) slip of land into a destination their passengers would never forget. Nature trails wind through the isle, which is home to wild chickens, peacocks and occasional iguanas. Those seeking solitude will enjoy the hammocks that are hung under coconut trees in quiet locations.
English Harbour, Hurricane Hole Sea lovers have plenty of activities to choose from. Hop on a jet ski (US $ 95 for 50 minutes) and speed across waters so clear that you can see orange starfish 20 feet below, or don a snorkel mask and explore life under the sea up close. For a great view of the island, try your hand at parasailing (US $ 79 per hour). You'll soar 200-400 feet in the air and maybe even take a cooling dip in the water before returning to the boat. Children will enjoy Caylana's Castle Cove and SeaTrek Aqua Park (US$ 15 adults, $10 children). Its floating sand castle and aquatic trampolines are just the things for those who are young at heart. A staff of 45 people lives on CocoCay, and it's obvious they take pride in keeping the island's natural beauty in top condition. Their pampering service makes the island experience so pleasurable that you won't want to leave when dusk falls all too soon. "Disney knows children, so it's no wonder that they feel at home on Castaway Cay" The cruise ship docks right at the island (other cruise ships use tender boats to ferry passengers back and forth), so youngsters can head right down the ship's ramp and out to explore Castaway Cay. There is a beach just for families, and Scuttle's Cove is a safe and fun club for children. Parents need some time on their own, so there is Serenity Bay, a secluded beach for adults. For a little pampering, have a relaxing massage in the open-air cabanas at the seaside spa.
Street in Key West Game for a little exploration? Then grab a bike (child seats are available for little ones) and hit the trails (US$ 6 per hour). This is, after all, a secluded island getaway, and there are miles of empty shoreline and tropical forest to explore. If you prefer the water, check out the Walking and Kayak Nature Adventure ($60). Participants walk with a guide through the island's lush fauna and kayak through an ecologically sensitive mangrove environment. If paddling wears you out, just jump in for a refreshing swim in the crystal clear island waters. Teens can get into their own adventure on The Wild Side (US$ 35), an excursion that includes snorkeling, biking and kayaking. Families who want to adventure together can try the Seahorse Catamaran Snorkel Adventure (US$ 49 adults, US$ 29 children). This easy 45-minute sail takes you out to calm waters and unspoiled coral reefs. Even younger children will enjoy floating in the turquoise Caribbean Sea with schools of colored fish.
View of the Caribbean Sea Visitors to the tiny islet of Motu Mahana (Polynesian for sunlit island) are greeted with the sounds of Polynesia. Les Gauguines, an eight-woman song and dance troupe, perform beguiling love songs in their Polynesian tongue while guests enjoy a scrumptious feast under the shade of thatched huts. After lunch, guests can relax in the sea or wade for yards in the shallow waters while waiters wearing bathing suits offer tropical drinks to those in need of refreshment. Try out the complimentary water sports like kayaking or snorkeling. For a different experience, board a motorized outrigger canoe and head to the beautiful island lagoon of Tahaa. Tahaa is known for two things: producing vanilla and black pearls. Guests can take a four-wheel drive tour into the hills to tour the vanilla plantations (US$ 65) or view French Polynesia's rare jewel, the black pearl, at the Motu Pearl Farm (US$ 64). From there, head to the lagoon for some quality time with the region's underwater fauna. There is even a small lagoonarium where rays, turtles, sharks and fish are enclosed in four different pools. Touché, Andre!
Touché! Der #Altenlingen-er Andre Schoo zur "Nicht reden. Machen!"-Aussage seines politischen Kontrahenten.

Let's see
helped Marinette break into two separate private events(senti Gabriel & emotions), was given the cat miraculous because "fuck you Nino" stand up and humiliated Chloe in the middle of the cafeteria at schoo(kwami choice), try to take the fall for Marinette being accused for stealing shit when Venture 2.0 was placing stolen items on Marinette, randomly show up to trying to convince akume Buster not to not murder Andre, background appearance as a protester against Chloe's mayorship and.... was celebrating Chloe getting sent to live with Audrey
Oh and I guess introducing her new crush to Marinette
I mean okay yeah but like.
A chunk of that..... didn't matter?
She really didn't do anything to help the plan to break in during 'Gabriel Agreste'? Like she told one butler the wrong location, but...... why did that matter? The rest of the catering staff still somehow got to the right place and Mari blended in just fine.
I'll give you being Kitty Noire and the second break in
Oh she has a crush on Mari? Get in line
I barely remember Zoe taking the blame it lasted all of five seconds
No one really listened to her during Collusion and just did their own thing anyway they only didn't commit a murder because Andre said 'fuck this I'm out'.
the others were background
