yeah, i agree. i honestly think before tommy was introduced again in 7x03 and the kiss in 7x04 that in my brain, bvddie was the most logical endgame for buck until it wasn’t.

i came into the show shipping bvddie much like a lot of new fans to the show but instead of hopping onto the tommy anti express hate train i found myself falling in love with buck and tommy together. at first i was still on board with bvddie still being endgame but as each episode aired after 7x04 i became faced with the reality of the situation (at least the way i see it) that bvddie might always be fanon and that’s ok because fandom keeps ships alive whether they’re canon or not. some of the biggest ships EVER are non-canon (i mean, cmon spirk? one of the OG MM ships?) so it didn’t really deter me from enjoying bvddie to this day. what HAS deterred me from interacting with bvddie content is toxic bvddies. i don’t like using the lil nicknames, idc if other ppl do, whatever, but i prefer just referring to certain kinds as just toxic plain and simple.

toxic shippers have made it difficult for anyone who multiships to interact with bvddie content. while there are incredibly nice & welcoming bvddie endgamers out there, it doesn’t overshadow the hateful ones in my online experience at least. i’ve blocked so many ppl over this ship discourse, which ive never had to do with any other fandom before the extent i have with 911. everyday i still find new ppl to block, you go under almost any comment section on the 911 insta and its filled with nasty comments abt tommy and only caring abt whether bvddie will be canon in s8. people projecting their hatred of tommy/lou onto the cast/crew of the show when it’s be said and proven time and time again that it’s quite the opposite. now im certain there’s bad apples in the bucktommy side as well, but from what ive seen online so far it is not nearly to the caliber of the bvddie side. ive blocked maybe a handful of bucktommy’s for being hateful towards eddie or being toxic overall, but ive probably blocked over 100+ toxic bvddies. i can only imagine it’d be worse if i was active on 911 twt which i’m not (thank god) but i have ventured into the tags before on there and let me tell you, it’s fucking horrifying how gross ppl are over there. twt is a cesspool for fandom anyways tho, the fucking asshole of fandom, it’s a septic tank really.

now im my own opinion which could be completely untrue of course, but just basing my thoughts on what i’ve seen online and interviews and such, tim seems to be really happy about bucktommy and idk how ppl believe otherwise. tim has expressed he loves LFJ and wanted him back on the show. tim showed up on set for the kiss scene. tim posting an entire youtube vibe abt bucktommy being soulmates that touches on the invisible string theory and explains how they accidentally found buck’s perfect match. tim sharing the deleted tommy scene is also huge but im waiting to see if he releases more (because i remember seen somewhere that he said there’d be more?) and if he does then great but it’s also still pretty telling to me after the whole karaoke fiasco.

he’s just not the “correct” queer to these people. despite headcanons (hell even i hc eddie as queer!!) eddie so far, in canon, is not queer. by the end s7 he is still shown to not be over shannon and ruins his relationship with his son over this. ryan has stated in interviews he sees eddie as heterosexual, possibly pushing this because of the influx of ship discourse, and he’s glad to see a vulnerable and deep friendship that buck and eddie can have as a straight man and a queer man and how important he thinks it is.

every single thing that points to bvddie never going canon is like they’re being shot point blank in the chest. i get it, your ship not becoming canon sucks, but again, that is what fandom is for! shipping has never been about how canon smth is, there is 20k fics out there for bvddie and they aren’t canon. they can turn that into 40k, 100k, 1M if they really wanted to! instead they use their time and energy posting death threats, wishing death upon a gay character, bullying ppl online for enjoying a ship.

meanwhile from what ive seen bucktommys are rolling with goofy ass spy tommy theories created by antis and making jokes for our own fun.

mikey : honestly i think mikey is worse than baji—not much worse, but still definitely worse. he's a huge baby that will throw a tantrum if he doesn't get what he wants, and that includes his beloved's attention. i also don't think he realizes that you're socially anxious at first the same as baji. he would take your refusal to talk to him and your avoidance as rejection. that combined with his entitled attitude will give you one hell of a pissy mikey, a pissy mikey that you have to deal with.

he wouldn’t leave you alone, he refuses to. any time he sees you he's dropping whatever it is he's doing, ignoring whoever he may be having a conversation with, to go talk to you instead. you can shy away from him or run away from him as much as you want, you can even try to tell him to leave you alone outright, but mikey will still get all up in your space. he’ll talk to you, pester you to answer him and get super whiney and pouty if you don’t, he’ll follow you around and cling to you.

but mikey isn't a patient person at all, and he can only take so much of things not going his way. if you keep ignoring him even after so long of him being around, then he’ll just resort to cornering you and forcing you tell him why the hell you're being like this. why won't you just fucking talk to him. he knows you're not just busy or too tired, he wants the real reason, and you better give it to him or else he'll flip. honestly, he's so pushy about it that it might cause you to have a little break down wherever he corners you. you'll sob and tell him through hiccups that he just scares you, you're scared to talk to people in general, but him most of all 'cause he's loud and attracts a lot of attention everywhere he goes, which you don't like in the least bit. you don’t like attention and you don’t like loud things. you just want to be left alone.

that still doesn't stop him from bothering you though, but he will change his approach because he does care about your comfort. he quiets down for you, talks in a gentle voice that's soothing enough for you to ease up at least a little bit whenever he's around. he also always tries to be with you alone, tells his friends and pretty much everyone else not to fuck with you or else he's gonna have a fucking problem with them, and he's not afraid to start a fight with anyone that doesn't listen to him for fuck whatever reason. he goes so far as to get in your classmates face even if they're just asking for help on the hw or for a pencil. mikey will not let anyone talk to you. he gets so riled up about you that can’t help but beat the shit out of anyone that gets too close, for both the reason that you're socially anxious and because he likes having you all to himself. mikey loves having you to himself.

mikey doesn't think that your discomfort applies with him, he doesn't get that it's not just the attention that he gets that makes you feel overwhelmed, it's the attention he gives you too. and he he gives you a shit ton of attention. he doesn't shy away from calling you cute nicknames, he doesn't shy away from telling you how fucking cute he thinks you are, doesn't gonna shy away from sprawling himself all over you, wrapping his arms around you, putting his chin on your shoulder, lay down in your lap, being as touchy with you as you'll allow him to be without breaking down. mikey might even steal a few kisses from you here and there. he can't keep his hands to himself, and he just has to be touching you, even if you tell him that you don't want to be touched at the moment.

so yeah! mikey is clingy as fuck regardless of if his darling is socially anxious or not.

baji : we all know baji won't leave you alone, and we know he also won't get it right away that you're socially anxious, but he does get it faster than mikey does. baji though, unlike mikey, doesn't mind that you don't want to talk to him. as long as he gets to be near you, he's fine. he would like to at least touch you too, sp he might get a little grumpy if you're having one of those day where you just don't wanna talk and don't wanna be touched either, but he won't be like mikey and throw a fit about it.

baji will always wanna be around you. he'll follow you everywhere, pick you up and walks you to school, walk you to your classes and sometimes he'll sit in your class with you if he's feeling particularly attached to you, he'll eat lunch with you and stays with you during your clubs (if you have any), then he'll walk you home. sometimes he even invites himself in and stays over too just cause he loves being around you, and he loves getting to cuddle with you while you sleep. if you have plans on the weekend and baji finds out, he wants to go too. he calls you and facetimes you, texts you, everything. baji just will not let you breathe even for a second, he has to know what you're doing and where you are at all times because he likes knowing if you're okay. and if you're not, then he already knows what's up and he can get there to take care of it for you.

he gets super super protective of you once he realizes you have social anxiety, i mean he was before, but he just becomes so intune with you and what you need that you won't even have to tell him. he knows when something is wrong with you, and he immediately takes care of it. a person is getting too close to you? baji is all up in their space growling at them to back the fuck off or else he'll start throwing fists (if he has the patience for that, which most of the time he won't). you're getting tired and your social batter is draining? baji will just hold you in his arms and do everything for you, or he'll just take you home so you can rest. he always orders for you at restaurants and does all the talking around new, unfamiliar people. he's just- he knows you so well because your comfort is his priority, and he has to know all the things you don't like and all of your little ques so he can get to work on making you comfortable again.

honestly with how protective of you he is, you can probably use him as a scary dog because he keeps people away from you, even when you don't outright ask him to. he growls and glares, wraps his arms around you and keeps you in a protective hold so people don't just drag you away from him and into a situation you don't wanna be in. baji can honestly get scary for other people when you are involved, and you don't wanna be. he really does take your social anxiety seriously and he will learn quickly exactly how to comfort you on your really bad days.

wakasa : of the three of them, waka is the only one that understands you have social anxiety right way, and he at least tries to approach you comfortably from the start, give you some space to not overwhelm you so much, talk with you in a way that doesn't make you feel trapped by a conversation, that stuff. but the thing about waka is that he makes it clear that he's not going anywhere even when he's not physically there with you.

not for a second will he let you think that he'll leave you alone after a while because that's never gonna happen babes. part of the reason he does this is because he just wants to speed up how comfortable you are with him by familiarizing you with his presence, but the other reason is because he doesn't want you to think he's only here to mess around with you. he is a playboy, so he knows that it would be too easy for you to think he just wants to fuck and then be done with it, but that's not the case so he's gonna make sure you know he's gonna stay with you even if he does get you in his bed (which he will eventually, trust).

waka will text you at all hours of the day to check in with you, ask how you are and if you need him to come pick you up because you're having bad anxiety or for whatever other reason. he'll come over to where you live and hang out, then when he leaves, he'll make sure to tell you he'll be back either later that night or in the next few days. he'll ask you on dates all the time or to come over to his place just to spend time with you, and he won't make any moves on you, aside from maybe kissing you and calling you little nicknames like angel, baby, sweetheart (but he does that anyway so). waka just makes sure you understand he wants you for mor than sex and that he's not going anywhere.

once you're comfortable with him he starts to get a bit more invasive to your space. he'll give you kisses more often, pull you into him, hold your hand in public, all that good stuff. but waka will also be very reassuring with you and make sure that you're comfortable, and if you aren't, then he's gonna fix that. if you wanna go home, he'll take you home, if you don't wanna talk, then he won't make you, nor will he let anyone else make you. waka will wrap a protective arm around you and nuzzle you into his shoulder while growling and telling someone to fuck off if they bother you. he just gets very attentive and protective of you.

buttt, i think that waka would use your social anxiety to make you more dependant on him. he'll encourage you, tell you that you only need to talk to him, only stay close to him, nobody eles matters if he's already here for you. and honestly, you're easily swayed because you think he's helping you with your anxiety when really, he's just enforcing it and making you depend on him because of it. waka will make it so you can’t function around other people without him, maybe even take it so far that you freak out if he’s not with you whenever other people are around, and only will you be calmed if you can get to him, which he’ll let you cling to him, and he will absolutely bask in the way you need him so desperately. he loves it when his cute little darling depends on him.

TL;DR: multiple people can arrive at the same fanfic idea/premise in different ways, but also, getting inspired by a different fanfic is not stealing, please don't gatekeep!

I joined a new fandom (it's Resident Evil (RE), which I'm mostly mentioning for that one 'nosy' anon because hell yeah I am super nosy as well, so here you go, dropping some names!), and I quickly stumbled upon one fandom-specific plot trope that I thought was both pretty neat but also super obvious (Infected!Character fic, which, in a world with zombies and viruses that cause zombies is a very logical trope).

Anyway, there was not quite as much body horror as I thought there would be, although I'm still looking, but that's not why I'm writing to you, that's just the (un)necessary background.

There was this one fic that I opened, which in its Author's Note clearly stated that the author set this fanfiction in another author's AU, because they loved the world created by this first author. The first fanfiction author basically came up with their own Infected!Character design and backstory (including fanart), and the second fanfiction author liked it so much they were now writing this fic based on/in that AU. Obviously not quoting the AN directly, but this second author was very complimentary and explicitly mentioned where they got the idea from, gushing about the first author.

In the AN for chapter two, the second author stated that they weren't aware that that first fanfiction author didn't allow others to write about the Infected!Character AU they'd made, that that first author in fact only allowed a very limited number of people they publicly approved of to write about their AU, and nobody else was allowed to touch the Infected!Character AU. This second author was now apologising in the AN for not knowing this, plus mentioning that they changed chapter one to switch up the backstory & design to not be too close to that of the first fanficton author's AU.

That made me sad, honestly. I've seen this attitude a couple of times, where fanfiction authors are super protective of their ideas that they won't allow any other fanfiction author to write about them, and it's always struck me as a little bit hypocritical, given the whole deal of fanfiction. Especially when the original/first fanfiction author is credited and the inspired work is clearly done because the second author loved the first fanfiction so much. If it's a highly developed/specific and original AU (so not just any common trope), and you don't even mention the fanfic you were inspired by, then I find that rude, but just flat out not allowing people to even touch 'your' thing? C'mon!

This partially ties into my other gripe about a specific type of comments I occasionally get, which are along the lines of 'huh interesting idea where did you get it? bc/btw there is this other fic with the same idea (posted before you)'; idk if I got the tone right, but they never seem to be actually genuinely asking how I got the idea (and I always delight in telling them, not sarcastically, I genuinely love talking about this stuff, bc I get inspired by the most random things and I love love writing 'original'/new things!! I love tropes as much as anybody, I read a shitton of them, but i when I write I love coming up with new shit/plot! it's so fun!!). They just vanish after my explanation, even when I try to invite further conversation. It always feels to me like they're 'checking' that I didn't steal the idea, and it feels a bit lousy.

I mean in (larger) fandoms, it is not surprising at all that two or three or even more people arrive at the same idea, maybe even inspired by the same thing, same reading of canon, or not, varied experiences--and just because the works are similar doesn't mean that they were inspired by one another, but if they are, that's not a sin! I just want people to not take everything in bad faith, and also, to not 'disallow' others from getting inspired, especially when they do it in a very polite manner!

It's because of comments like these that I sometimes, very privately, worry that before I'll manage to post the long fic I spent months writing--because I'm one of those who wants the thing finished before I start posting--somebody else will have a similar idea, post their thing first, and then I'll look like I'm lying about not reading/stealing their idea, or just jumping on the bandwagon, which again, it's not a bad thing, actually.

And it shouldn't be like that! I shouldn't worry, and people should also be more willing to accept that authors can arrive at the same idea at (roughly) the same time & accept that explanation without side-eyeing the author, and that if an author is inspired by a different fanfic, that's not a sin either (in fact, for me it would be an honour).

None of this is new either, but that RE stuff reminded me of it again.

Anyway, I'm going to finish writing an Infected!Catboy!Leon fic now and be very unsurprised if I find out that somebody else has had the same idea long before me (aside from one or two reader fic inserts with that topic that I stumbled upon on tumblr, bc that's just not my thing at all (reader insert, I mean)).

Let's start with captain asshole Rhysand: Rhysand: Sexually assaulted Feyre, did not apologize, licked Amarantha's boots for fifty years to "protect" no one since he only rules 1/3 of his court. He claims to be uber powerful yet he can't control misogyny within 2/3 of his court. But it's totally fine to go into Tarquin's house, steal an important possession, then act superior later when his wife's antics in Spring caused Summer to be invaded. Pretends to give his wife a "choice" while not giving her crucial information, i.e. that he wouldn't be helping her out with the Weaver at all. Locked Lucien in a house, made rape jokes about his mother, altogether treated him like shit for no reason. Then the Inner Circle acts all shocked and furious that their "masks" as "bad guys" fooled everyone and act violent towards literally everyone not Inner Circle there. Rhysand forcibly shut Tamlin's mouth, Feyre burned Lucien and Eris's innocent mother, Azriel nearly choked Eris to death. Ironically, Cassian acted the most sane here. After Tamlin saved Feyre and Rhysand's lives multiple times, Rhysand has the gall to tell Tamlin to kill himself despite knowing they'll need him as an ally, which is a terrible thing to do and also made Lucien's life harder. ACOSF he locks Nesta in a house and hides the malignant nature of his wife's pregnancy from her. That's just the gist of it. Cassian: Rhysand's dog. He need to grow a fucking spine. He never defends Nesta in front of Rhysand, and constantly abuses her physically and mentally. Won't let her eat sugar, forces her to train, tells her everyone hates her, makes her hike a fucking mountain for having the nerve to disobey rhysand and tell feyre the truth she deserved to hear. Then again in HOFAS not defending Nesta in front of Rhysand when he was screaming at her for giving away the trove and telling her she should've killed Bryce instead. THAT. IS. YOUR. MATE. He treats all the women in his life better than her, like mor and feyre. Azriel: A fucking weirdo violent creep. He needs to man tf up and admit Lucien is the superior man. His creeping on Mor for 500 years when she's clearly not interested is not cute. Nor is choking Eris to death in an important political meeting. Elliott tried to remain as calm and polite as possible. After all, even when the divorce was made official, the writer tried not to bicker with his ex and remain civilised people. But even he has a limit to his patience. Farmer themselves filed for divorce without explaining why, and it broke Elliott's heart into a thousand shards. They can't just pick up this "shards" and "glue them" back together, it doesn't work that way. So Elliott says goodbye and won't listen to Farmer's attempts to rekindle the relationship.

Please, Farmer, leave Harvey alone. He has a lot of important work to do with patients right now, and he doesn't need more stress. No, he can't speak with them after his work either. Harvey will make more and more excuses every time to avoid facing Farmer. But one day, he's gonna have a fit and yell at them to get the hell out of his clinic. Harsh, but what could the doctor do if his ex didn't respect his boundaries.

What? Are they serious now? What did they mean, "they changed their minds" and "it was a mistake"? Uh-huh, and now tell Sam that it was just a prank. Yeah, harmless prank, that all their dates together and declaring their love and promising to live happily ever after was just a stupid joke. Except the young guitarist isn't really amused. Stuff happens, maybe Farmer and Sam really did rush into marriage, but... No, he can't. The wound of the divorce is still fresh. Maybe in the future they can be friends again, but... Nothing more.

Farmer wants to talk to Alex? After they handed him divorce papers and cowardly avoided him without explaining why or what happened? They can't just barge into an athlete's life again and ask for a renewed relationship. And honestly - Alex doesn't care anymore what the reason for the divorce was in the first case. He has no desire or time to communicate with them, so let Farmer do him a favour and leave his house. And don't bother him or his grandparents again.

Victor was already having a hard time coping with the divorce, and trying to remain in a normal-ish relationship with Farmer, because despite this outcome, he wanted to remain civilised, and maybe even friends. But Farmer is asking for too much, and since they can't accept that there won't be that spark between Victor and them anymore, he'll go NC. No, don't push pity on him. Farmer made a choice, and now they (and Victor) have to pay for it. Trying to start over... It's like they don't care how he feels.

"Look, I know you're angry, but... the divorce was a mistake!" No, Magnus' mistake, he thinks, was believing that he had finally found happiness. Wizard's heart was broken for the third time, and this third time was worse than the last. His ex and Caroline have at least left him alone mostly, but Farmer persistently climbs into his tower wanting to talk. And all he does is silence and solitude to drown the pain of his work. Magnus will ignore Farmer whenever possible (sending them back with a spell if they don't get out themselves).

Lance immediately told Farmer that it was a bad idea and went on about his business without making further conversation. The gallant adventurer was naturally upset that things didn't work out with them, can't deny that. But later, Lance thought that after the divorce, he could see now several red flags in their relationship. Farmer isn't a bad person, but Lance decided that they just weren't meant for each other. It's nothing personal, but he and Farmer are not on the same page.

As it turned out, Franco was not the only one with a criminal past and she had already killed one or two men, taking the money and now on the run after the last robbery had gotten a little out of hand. ,,Let's go!" she had shouted at him as she had thrown the bag of their things into his car and sat down next to him on the passenger seat, started the engine and drove on through the States, taking whatever they wanted, from jewellery and clothing to ammunition and money.

°It was a wonderful time together, in which not only did Franco one day get his suit from her and he gave her the golden necklace with a blue gem as a pendant after she had cut a ball for him and vice versa. They had the same sense of humour, the same background and, above all, they were the first to really trust each other. A trust that ended in a loud argument with the law and Murkoff, a fight with Franco and the use of all the ammunition and grenades they had. ,,This doesn't look good," she said, throwing her last grenade before she pushed through and winced as she heard the hit men scream, ‘The fuckers won't let up… I don't think this is going to go well, darling,’ she heard Franco say and looked over at him in amazement. His hand was on hers for a moment as they both saw the grenade of the police officers and pressed themselves against each other to minimise the damage. He only ever called her darling when he was sad, overjoyed or completely desperate, and it looked like they were up to their necks in shit.

°On that dark night, the two surrendered, taking a few more policemen with them to their deaths through knife wounds, bites and blows, before Murkoff put an end to it with a stun gun and took the two of them away. From then on, they were separated from each other. The time was dark and hopeless, but again and again she found a few teeth in her cell, bloody teeth, and she collected them. She knew, no, she was one hundred percent sure that it was Franco who wanted to tell her something, to show her something. ,,I am with you," she heard his voice and tried to find him in her trials. Finding what ended with a glance at his Lupara and they both paused before a big smile crept onto his lips, ,,Franco!" she shouted happily, took his hand and pulled him into a long embrace, feeling the the pain in his life, the bullets, the injections and the pain… but now, now they were finally together. ,,Finally together again and now forever," he said, handing her the revolver he had kept.

°,,Well then, darling, let's punish a few bad guys!" he shouted, loading his gun before they roamed his territory together, slaughtering everything like back when they were still outside, and between the shrine, they found dismembered bodies and gutted . Franco and she were found sitting together on the bed again, drinking from a glass of wolf's milk and finally able to do what they both enjoyed most: being together as best friends in a place where they could do whatever they wanted, together.

This has been on the horizon for a while, but I think a part of me just didn't want to admit it until recently. I'll cut straight to the chase, you probably won't see much RA content from me anymore.

The topic of the fandom, the tags or quality of the posts have been discussed a few times already -mostly by me I think which should have been a warning sign haha- so I'm not going to go into too much detail. I'll just share my perspective.

The fandom simply just doesn't have much to offer me at the moment.

Everyone knows that a huge part of my interest in RA was and always has been TRR Will. If he didn't exist, I would have lost interest in the series a LONG time ago. But I can cook my own meals for only so long before I get tired and want to eat out for a change, and unfortunately for me no one is serving the food I want at the moment. I still love love love this man, but there just isn't enough content for him in the fandom (except the ones made by me) for me to want to actively keep engaging with it.

Not only that, art just doesn't get the same reception as it used to here. If I can draw another interest of mine and get triple the engagement, then it's just easier for me to be motivated to share my art of that other thing. Sure I draw because I want to first, but suprisingly for everyone I do want to draw things other than RA. And if those other things are more appreciated, then it just means I'm more motivated to keep posting them for everyone else to see. Most people probably remember I used to be very active in discussions and character analyses on here as well, but I just don't see the space for that sort of content here anymore. (Sorry to that one anon who said they liked my writing, you know who you are)

I still love RA and TRR Will, but I'll probably keep my thoughts or the occasional sketch I draw for myself from now on. I just don't feel motivated to share it.

Also just in case anyone asks my opinion after the recent discussion at the ask blog; yes, I don't like the current state of most of the posts here either. I don't want to go out bad-mouthing others though, the current style of content in the fandom just isn't my taste. Which is alright, maybe I've simply grown out of the series! The book getting newer fans is a good thing and I hope they have as much fun as I did when I first joined. This fandom has been my home for years now but I think it's around time I go out and explore more.

I'll still keep up with the series. Again, my fixation on Will is very much alive and well. It sucks that I don't have the energy to share my passion with others anymore, but I'm sure people will do just fine without me mauling every other guy that completely misunderstands his character to death. Don't get me started on the beard shit, genuinely frustrating how a fandom revolving around a book series has 0 literacy at times.

TLDR: I'm not going to be active in the RA fandom anymore because of multiple reasons. I still love TRR Will but I'm not motivated to share my work here in the current state of things. I loved my time here and I hope everyone else does too.

i did get it twice, but that's okay!!! oh anon, i have been waiting my entire tumblr career for an ask like this you have no fucking idea i am so excited! let's go!:

they either start dating during the timeskip, in 2008 (following manga timeline here), or post-canon. i think they need time to first develop an actual relationship then develop the feelings tbh

the romantic feelings didn't come around fast for either of them, especially not aizawa. it's something which grew slowly over time as they got to know one another and began to appreciate one another. aizawa very likely knew he was in love when he realised that he now finds matsuda's more annoying traits endearing.

their bickering is top tier - it is loud, it is annoying to everyone else around them, it is fast. they have always bickered like a married couple even before they started dating. they left a lot of their original dynamic behind after a long while of dating but the way they banter is something that has always stayed

matsuda is 100% into PDA while aizawa is 0% into it, but in private, aizawa doesn't mind matsuda's clinginess at all.

they have their differences in personality, but what allows them to stay together is what they value, which is actually quite similar. both are very loyal and honest people, they also value that in one another as a result. they're also both passionate, and though they're tip-toeing around how their relationship changes to a romantic one, they are both eager to do things right.

aizawa cooks for the most part, but matsuda sometimes makes breakfast. they're both busy so they eat a lot more takeout than they should really

matsuda's love language (way of giving love, in this case) is physical touch and aizawa's is acts of service.

hikari by hikaru utada is a song i always about them to, the english version simple and clean is also very good

in my mind, matsuda has adhd. he struggles to do chores which leads to the apartment being messy, but aizawa helps out with this. before aizawa moves in, sometimes when he comes over he'll just do the laundry or the dishes. matsuda is at first very charmed but very embarrassed and apologises for the apartment being in the state that it is. aizawa doesn't understand why matsuda struggles with doing things like this, but soon sees that it is causing him distress that they're not done, so decides the least he can do is help out.

matsuda also likes to wear aizawa's coats because they're too big for him, very warm, and they smell like aizawa. aizawa does a total of zero (0) things to stop this.

they have movie nights in which they alternate who picks the movie, because if matsuda always picked they would only watch romcoms and if aizawa picked they would only watch horror or action or some shit. aizawa likes only one romance movie and hates the rest, matsuda thinks it is the funniest thing.

when they sleep, aizawa is dead still and snores loudly. matsuda hogs the blankets.

i can see their relationship lasting for a lifetime, but it takes a lot of hard work to get there. a lot of uncomfortable conversations and communication

aizawa refuses to let matsuda rot after the kira case. post-kira, matsuda becomes very depressed. i have my own assorted headcanons about how they are during the first year or two of post-kira, but this post is becomng too long so i won't elaborate

how i feel about this character: i think about this character so much it's probably worrying. he's just so complex and compelling - from the moment you first meet him you realise that he has a really unique relationship with the world in general, and just. every time he makes an allusion to something that he doesn't expand upon either because he feels he shouldn't yet or because he's perhaps trying to protect himself i simultaneously want to throw him in the horse plinko and hug him. how do you even live after the first person who was ever really your friend, whose wish was to see the sky from beyond the barrier that was made by a god, dies after you fought for that with him and barely even got a glimpse of the freedom that he strived so hard for. how do you live after you take his form when you end up becoming the very thing that was the cause of your friends' suffering because you maybe feel that it's the only way to keep his ambition and hope for freedom living on after he died because maybe having a god's ideal be a human's wish for freedom is one of the only ways to negate the inherent respect that godhood commands but also probably because you just can't bear to let him go, at least for a period. how do you- *gets dragged forcibly off-stage*

all the people i ship romantically with this character: i can appreciate a lot of the popular venti ships however the only two that have ever really appealed massively to me are xiaoven and zhongven. you can see my post for this ask game about xiao for some my thoughts on xiaoven (i can elaborate if need be though) but for zhongven i just find their relationship sooo fascinating. they've lived through wars together, so chances are they've seen each other do utterly unspeakable things, and even that by itself can produce a very close kind of relationship. on the surface they're polar opposites but when you actually think about it they are fundamentally quite similar, despite their opposing natures. idk something something about a mountain that can erode and change but won't fall or move and the wind that comes and goes as it pleases but can still change it's course and can still come to rest sometimes. you get it right

my unpopular opinion about this character: uhhh i can't really think of anything right now? maybe how i actually think he's way more moon-coded as a character than sun-coded but i don't see many people on here actually talking about that so idk

one thing i wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon: hehe. haha. forced barbatos reveal to all of mondstadt babyyyyy i feel like backing him into a corner and stopping him from running away from his problems so much would be good for him in the long run

I genuinely thought that what happened to that actress from the Scream franchise was the perfect example to why Pedro hasn't said anything about it and he probably won't, but I don't know if people just play stupid or if they are actually that stupid to think he's gonna risk the career he worked hard his whole life for that. First of all, we don't know what kind of activism he does away from the spotlight, maybe he's doing a lot anonymously, we won't know, and even if he isn't doing anything at all, Pedro is human, and just as every human being, it's okay if he is selfish to be an activist for the causes that only affect him directly, after all, we can't embrace the whole world, we can't fight for every single right or cause, and he is not a politician, he doesn't have power to cease fire or take any decisions. I purposefully tan (usually it's once a week, I go hiking w/o a shirt for a few hours but still wear 25spf from march-may, early mornings) so that I won't get sunburnt, because my sunburns are fucking intense. I'd rather risk skin cancer than have to face sunburns everywhere after any activity in the sun from June-September.

I was doing this pretty regularly up until last year when I had to work nights, and the first day I hung out outside I got a sunburn so bad it wasn't just peeling, I had literal pus filled blisters on my shoulders scalp and face, even though I wore 50 SPF sunscreen! I just forgot to apply 15 minutes before I went out, but once I was out I was applying every hour. I know I'm probably a dumbass for doing this but at least I'm not a perpetually Pillsbury dough boy extra flaky burnt dumbass.

Hey, it's your body! You know that you're raising your risk of skin cancer, and you've decided you're okay with that. Not wearing sunscreen is honestly not so bad in terms of things that up your risk of cancer. It's not like smoking, you're not gonna give anyone second hand sunburn or whatever. Literally the only person at risk here is yourself, you understand the risks, and you've made an informed decision that you're okay with that. Keep doing whatever works for you, I'm not the sunscreen police.

The main reason I rant about this stuff so much is just because the skin cancer risk ISN'T common knowledge, and most people are only told that they need to wear sunscreen to protect from burns... so those of us that don't burn tend to believe we don't need to use sunscreen at all, and that myth is very commonly believed. It's cool if people don't want to wear sunscreen - hell, I skip it more often than I'd like to admit. I just think everyone deserves to understand the full risk so that they can make an informed decision.

Anyways, all power to you, just... y'know, if any weird brown blotches show up on your skin, take that shit to a doctor ASAP. Skin cancer isn't so bad if you catch it in the pre-cancer stage... but only IF you catch it that early - if you don't catch it quickly. you're kinda fucked, because skin cancer metastasizes REALLY easily, and it has a nasty tendency to pop up as brain cancer.

Sunscreen or no sunscreen, everyone should watch out for skin cancer, because it'll fuck you up if it gets the chance.

I've only had sunburn once in my life honestly, and that was when I spent a solid eight hours in full sunlight in late june, only wearing a swimsuit, with no sunscreen. That's what it took to give me a very light sunburn on my shoulders. ...Aand that's why ten year old me concluded that sunscreen was unnecessary for me, and I didn't bother wearing it at all for a solid decade, right up until I was in a bio lecture, the subject of cancer came up, and the teacher explained the process of how sunlight causes skin cancer as an example. If you also saw my other reblogs you would also see I reblogged someone speaking about that exact same thing and about how the diversity is an *improvement* but still not very diverse (and also just ... The kobold slaves which are still an iffy subject).

This is a bit odd though considering the race chart reblog must be at least a week or a month old now, so I'm guessing you are going through some of the reblogs just to tell people how it's still bad which won't get you far, if anywhere at all (it's a lot more tedious than just reblogging or making your own post and also going through reblogs to send anons to people you disagree with is not healthy in the long term)

Questionable even if it's not portrayed as "good" with the one character that has a slave being against unions and all that shit, it's still weird and a bit too normalized in-universe for my taste) than coming to a blog you don't know what their stance of the issues is

You can still enjoy things while being critical of their issues, in fact you should be critical of what you watch because it's a good way to avoid falling down rabbit holes you might be best not touching, but being critical can and should be done while still taking a step back and enjoying it (and nobody misenterpret this, of course I dont mean buy Joanne Rowling shit, because being critical means knowing when NOT to interact with things because the simple act of being a fan out loud is helping a bad cause)

Again, I don't think (and hope) you are doing this in bad faith, but I already know, a good chunk of us already do, I've talked about it, it's still being talked about, and while we are *this* critical over it for dunmeshi we should really do this with other animes with no diversity whatsoever even within the people with same skin color because it's not going to do much if the only one we actually put pressure one is the one that started taking the step forward
