i have already talked about ffxiv / homestuck crossovers here but idk if I’ve discussed a lot of the parallels i see between the two. there’s A TON of them but one I’ve been thinking about a lot lately is between PM and Venat.

I’m not great with words/phrasing, and also it’s been a bit since I’ve read their respective lore, so I’m sorry in advance about inaccuracies.

I don’t feel like explaining them in great length so I’ll just say this: shoutout to girls with a bright white color scheme who lose everything to take on an insane amount of power and travel to the ends of the universe for the ultimate goal of a better world (and giving up that power in the end.)

this is an older drawing, but I think if they ever met they would be reminded of someone in their respective lives (PM sees WQ, Venat sees Azem/WoL).

In short, I think they could be the best of moirails. They make me very happy <:,)

#MiqoMarch - Day 21, Love

Since I have no way currently to get new shots of him with his husbands, I will share these old ones along with shots I took of dialogue and moments where Ki'to here just could not contain his love and I just had to capture it.

I figure that way you can see love through his eyes.

Also, spoilers ahead. I can't mention everything unless I give some spoilers. But! Everything is in chronological order, so you can skip any parts you have yet to see!

Finally got to sit down and just have a quiet moment with Aymeric.

Starlight '22 spoilers. Gods, who let this man look so cute in that outfit? I need to thank them. (Also ngl seeing Aymeric being so sweet with a child made Ki'to's heart swell)

This ain't just about the husbands, btw. Soft Uri had me on the floor in my feels. I love him so much.

This still reads like a proposal to me. This was when Ki'to knew he was in it for the long haul.

When these goobers walked in unannounced with bags of food in their arms, this boy was so godsdamned happy. Dinner with the gang is one of his favorite things.

Hyth has a special place in Ki'to's heart. I like to think it's because Azem really loved him as well, and that love carried across shards.

The relief this gave Ki'to was immense. He never wanted to burden the others with his troubles because he knew they had their own. So Raha telling him this eased so much tension within him. And instead of walking away like he does in the cutscene, Ki'to asked him to stay so they could talk. In all honesty, this was probably the most loved he'd felt in a while. His struggles were seen and acknowledged, and his lover made sure he felt comfortable sharing them.

Being an inspiration to young adventurers made him extremely happy. If he can inspire generations after him to go out, explore, and learn about the world around them, then maybe Eitherys could be a kinder place in the future.

Gods, this man loved Venat/Hydaelyn with his whole heart. The way she saw the world was so beautiful to him. He wished things could have been different so she could see the world as it is now, but she went out on her own terms and he respects that. Though to say their battle brought him happiness would be a lie. She'd been there every step of the way and he wept for her before being unceremoniously dragged out of the aetherial sea.

I cannot even begin to describe the complex emotions running through Ki'to's mind at this point...

There was a S I G N I F I C A N T pause before he answered G'raha here. I hovered on the lower option for like 5 minutes.

"You can't do this to me. Not again..."

It's what he wanted to say. 'You can't sacrifice yourself again. I've watched you seal yourself away, try to cast yourself out with the light of multiple Wardens, be consumed by crystal, and now you want me to watch your very aether be dispersed?'

But in the end he chose to give him strength. 'I can't be selfish when we've come this far...'

Even when Devotion overtook him as he made his climb with the twins, Azem's crystal never left his hand. Stuck as far into his glove's palm as possible. If he was able. If fate allowed. He would summon them all back. He had to.

This shot was taken out of love because he wanted to cling to his words. His promises. The light of hope that they could be realized.

And here's the relief.

And lastly, he was happy to see that Meteion finally got her happier ending. She deserved it.

In lieu of being able to just make a post about his husbands and the love they share, I thought I would share the moments where you could see the people and things that he loved through his eyes.

"Skies one could drown in..." IRL Pryne update. Dad got out of the hospital about a week ago...and went back nearly immediately because he kept falling. Between the ambulance call, getting him admitted, bringing his gear to the hospital, and checking in with his care team, we spent about 20-ish hours awake. If I hadn't woken up for my customary "biphasic sleep" cycle, I wouldn't have gotten the call from my Mom that something was really wrong. He's just...so depleted. He's not eating or sleeping enough to sustain, so they're keeping him there to monitor his habits and try and coax him back to something approaching "normal." The thought that is if we can get him regulated enough to fix his low blood pressure, low blood sugar, dehydration, that his behavioral struggles might finally abate. And what do I do when I have lots of idle time in a high-stress situation? ESCAPE "TO A DREAM WORLD OF MAGIC." - The Lonely Island. Speaking of a "lonely island," this time I was "Walkin' in [Elpis]," as I continually hummed to myself every time I equipped my Sophist's Robe glam. I finally got to meet Mommy Venat and Papa Emet-Selch and your pretty Uncle Hythlodaeus who works on Broadway and can't make it to the family reunion [true story]. Your favorite Cousin Hermes is all grown up and really cute, but you're not going to say that out loud to anyone because it seems like he's got enough on his plate without you embarrassing him. Meteion is the new baby of the family that your aunts and uncles insist you babysit because it's "good training" or some horsesh*t, but you don't mind that much because she's pretty entertaining for a little kid. This is all to say I'm having a really good time in Elpis, in spite of the well known foreboding vibes. I am, however, feeling a little stuck. I'm at 90 with my "DragOOOoooOOn" (sung to the tune of the old Yahoo theme), but my Bard and Machinist are just...not there yet. I'd hate to continue the MSQ and dump all that EXP into the toilet, but it might take a few days to catch up on my other jobs. None of this matters, because Venat just keeps kicking my butt like I poured Kool-Aid all over her brand-new kitchen tablecloth [true story]. This game and this blog have been an outlet. The relative anonymity and sense of kinship with the FFXIV community, although seemingly at cross purposes with each other, have been a huge help. The complexity and stigma surrounding my Dad's condition makes it hard to share with IRL support systems; to wit, I'm not sure anyone from my extended family knows. To be able to write about it here, RP in game, or just escape the situation for a few hours by watching cutscenes; it's really appreciated. Now...*sharp intake of breath*...time to grind because I DEFINITELY spent 250K Gil making a Southern Seas shirt to live my Best Jimmy Buffett Life (RIP).

nophica’s naturals is a very funny joke altho personally im a bit weirded out by ppl who are actually disappointed by them??? if you think C cups are too small idk what to tell you

halone’s fight is kind of a nightmare for adhd mfers with bad memory (it’s me im mfers)

ANYWAYS. LORE REVELATIONS. ppl discovered nymeia has dialogue that’s exactly the same as maira talking about her brother alkaios in an elpis sidequest. furthermore, alkaios is a master of time magicks, and maira created the first nymeia lilies for the okyupetes funeral after you told her about them. 

before you face althyk and nymeia, you fight some ios, toads, and a behemoth. alkaios and maira help an ancient named kleon improve on those concepts. maira talks about how kleon seems to like round creachers

(incidentally, emet remembered who kleon is. kleon is implied to be the shade in the recreater bureau of the architect who asks you to beta test some toys he made.)

there’s also an unnamed 13th among the twelve, whose duty is to watch their charge. this is probs the watcher as krile thinks, but i went to talk to the watcher after the raid and he doesnt have any new dialogue. oh well.

so the twelve are probably recreations of venat’s 12 followers plus the archivist as seen in the cutscene back in 5.2. their “divinity” is probably due to dynamis influencing them, such as menphina suddenly getting a puppy after the 3rd astral era when the allagans made dalamud. 

but then if thats the case...why does thal have emet’s lips LMAO

the halone/ysayle similarities just Don’t Stop halone’s minion form is a fenrir pup and the fenrir boss in snowcloak was ysayle’s dog lol

idk how i feel about azeyma being a meerkat. the meerkat description says they like sunbathing, but i was kind of hoping azeyma would be a little orange cat. the torajiro. 

naldthal mummy is sooo cyute i love that he falls over sometimes like the twins can’t decide which way to go
