Today my student showed me a short story he had to analyse for school. It was written in the 70s and featured a failed conversation between a father and a child.

And I related so hard to the situation in that story I amolst fell off my chair.

My student felt sorry for me, I think, when I said that I've had that exact conversation with my dad...

#In other news a different student told me all the cool hip hop slang concerning drugs and murder #while I tried to show him the rhymes and metaphors and other stylistic devices in a song he likes #and in other other news I taught a different student that captain Cook brought the skin of a kangaroo back to england #And the dudes in the natural history museum pumped it full of air like a balloon to see what a kangaroo looks like #I told him he needs to write that in his English test on Australia I hope his teacher will be as happy with that tidbit as I was #adventures in teaching #You win some you lose some I honestly don't know which was which today
