Now that I’ve caught up in the manga, it’s time to talk about Nacht. I ranked him at the bottom of my Black Bulls ranking because he gets introduced at the end of the anime but I do really like him after seeing him in the manga.

One of Nacht’s biggest traits is he’s very critical of people who he deems “not good”. Often, these can be small traits in comparison to one’s overall character like how he criticizes the other Black Bulls even though they are overall good people.

I called him an asshole before for his criticizing attitude, but I love the complexity that that same attitude extends to himself. He knows he’s not good himself and hates himself for it. Morgen was someone he found truly good and he’s the reason his brother is gone. He’ll never forgive himself for what happened to Morgen and thinks that in comparison to his brother, he can never be as good. (Even before Morgen’s death, he’d already accepted himself as his brother’s opposite and if his brother is good, he’s not.)

Still, he tries to do what is right even if he thinks redemption will never be possible for him.

They are so funny to me. Like to me Stan is completely secure in his relationship with Older Ford. He has just spent MONTHS alone on the open ocean with the guy. Nothing this Young Ford can throw at him can compare. Ford, still a bundle of ego and grudges, has no idea how to respond. Also Bill is a menace

i know we all laugh (mostly fondly) about the paper-thin plots in porn that only exist to make the sex happen, but i was reading some old stargate fic over the weekend, and i really think we're sleeping on the paper-thin hurt/comfort plot that only exists to force the characters to FEEL THINGS.

like, is this scenario realistic? no. does it make any rational sense? no. does it provide a built-in excuse for a character to collapse, bloody and disoriented, into the arms of his beloved/friend/partner? obviously, that's the whole point of this exercise.

i love it. it's my favorite thing in the world.

The thing i hate so much about the sadness and despair is that it has no where to go. Once your done crying about it, once your done torturing yourself with it, its just...there. It still inside you, it's still sitting there. Just now you either distract yourself with something else, push it somewhere else inside your brain or sit numbly with it as you've tired yourself out. Or maybe all three options. In the end I know I will see it again. We'll meet again and do the whole charade once more. It's only a matter of time. And that kills me inside so fucking much, yet, I'm use to it :/
