FUTURE LG STORIES EXPOSED: PART 2
----> Part 1 Here <---
Please click the Part 1 link above for a full explanation. The following text contains MAJOR SPOILERS for the Looming Gaia series. For this reason I will place it under a cut.
Read at your own discretion!
ChroMight Technologies - The Freelance Good Guys are still in Zareen Capital, as their flight home got delayed due to sky pirate activity. They decide to visit Ojio since they're close by anyway. He's currently living in a crummy condo in the city. He shows them the project he’s been working on in his garage: the Mechaskema(™). He admits he borrowed a lot of money from the Kuzapa (Zareenite mafia) to make this prototype, but he needs a test subject to prove it works. If he doesn’t present something functional to the Kuzapa soon, they will break his kneecaps…or worse. He isn’t too picky about his test subject, but says they must be an adult person, not a monster or animal. There is a decent chance something could go wrong with this novel technology–including death. Once a person is locked into the Mechaskema, they can't remove it, so the volunteers must be warned beforehand. But if it works, it can enhance all of the user's senses, heal their ailments, and even extend their lifespan. The Freelance Good Guys offer to help him find a willing subject.
Ojio doesn’t expect them to find any candidates, but they actually bring him 4: A terminally-ill cancer patient named Nerio, a red elf. A poor, pregnant prostitute named Ditaphyra, a faun. A suicidal tech nerd named Lars, a human. And a legless, homeless, ex-Kuzapa goon named Siege, an ogre.
All of these candidates have little to lose and a lot to gain, so Ojio has a hard time choosing between them. He decides to sleep on it for a while. But then it’s too late: a Kuzapa goon is suddenly on his doorstep, and he’s forced to lock himself into the Mechaskema to spare his kneecaps. Luckily it works, and the Kuzapa goon is impressed enough to leave him alone for the time being.
The device is far from perfect, however, and it’s causing Ojio tremendous pain. His four candidates offer to help him work on it. In the end, they become his loyal friends and employees, and the Kuzapa give him enough money to purchase a warehouse where he can manufacture improved Mechaskema models. Each candidate gets one and their lives are changed for the better. Ojio is still in debt to the Kuzapa and probably will be for quite a while, but if he plays his cards right, his company will strike it big enough to escape their clutches.
Disgraceful Daughter - Disgrace sends Goryx on a mission to capture a priestess of Love and Light. Goryx decides to go the extra mile and capture a minervae. He goes to Taybiya and introduces himself to Patience, telling her he regrets joining the evil Crescent Cult and he wants her help to redeem himself. Patience takes pity on him and wants to help, but his ruse doesn’t fool High Priestess Hope. She tells him to go away and warns Patience that there is no hope for some people. Patience doesn’t believe her and tries to help Goryx behind her back.
Goryx eventually betrays her and uses her as a bargaining chip to capture Hope. Hope sacrifices her freedom to save Patience, and Goryx whisks her away to the Divine of Hate’s lair. Disgrace’s scribes deface her Tome of Infinity with hateful manifestos, written in the blood of tortured innocents. This corrupts Hope into a twisted minervae named Tragedy, who gains power from the suffering of others.
The Princess Slave and the Peasant Prince - The Freelance Good Guys get a contract from a Morite nobleman, who wants them to rescue his wife from bandits. They track down the bandits and find out their “captive” is Skel’s ex-lover, Jasenia. She secretly hired the bandits to get her away from her terrible husband. Jasenia tells Skel she made a mistake and begs him to take her back. He is reluctant, still angry at her for betraying him in the past, but the Freelance Good Guys at least offer to take her back to the Hollow, as she has nowhere else safe to go.
Jasenia’s beauty quickly attracts attention in the Hollow. Skel rejects her at first, yet he can’t stand the sight of other men flirting with her, so he begrudgingly agrees to be with her again. Jasenia is happy at first, but then Skel begins treating her like a slave as payback for the way she treated him in the past. When she tries to stand up for herself, he reminds her of how much she hurt him, and she convinces herself that she deserves this treatment. Skel’s friends and neighbors take notice and they don’t like what they see. Several of them try to talk Skel into treating Jasenia better, and others try to talk Jasenia into leaving Skel, but neither of them listen and continue to trudge through this miserable relationship together.
Eventually the crew receives a relevant contract, and Evan decides that Skel is just the man for the job. A woman hires him to threaten her abusive husband into treating his family better, but by the time Skel arrives, it’s already too late. He witnesses a grisly scene that hits too close to home and shakes him to his core, and he rushes back to the Hollow.
Jasenia decided to give up on their relationship and began packing her bags while Skel was away. He comes home early and catches her just in time, promising to treat her like his princess from now on. As a fae, he is bound by his own promise, but he doesn’t regret a thing as the two begin working through their pain together. Likewise, Jasenia promises to treat him like her prince. Their relationship improves significantly, and the crew enjoys how much nicer Skel is when Jasenia’s around. At long last, the miserable goblin finally seems to be happy. Lukas tells Evan that Skel’s last contract must have scared him straight after all. Evan replies that the contract was never even completed, and contract or not, it was still Skel’s decision to change the way he treats others.
More parts to come...
(I just want to mention that even if you've read these, you haven't been 100% spoiled. A LOT of details and B-plots are missing from these summaries!)

Lately I've been thinking back to Guy of Gisborne, the Sheriff of Nottingham's right hand man, and Isabella, from the 2006 BBC series Robin Hood. They were played respectively by Richard Armitage and Laura Pulver, both of them equally gorgeous and a pretty good choice to play siblings imo, and they had a really messed-up familial history AND a pretty messed-up history on the show, too.
See, Isabella was an original character introduced in the third and last season, alongside Kate, a feisty peasant girl who joined the Merry Men (or just "the outlaws"/"the gang" as the series called them) to make up for the lack of female characters after the end of the second season, when the main heroes and villains travelled to the Holy Land to either save or kill King Richard and the show let go of both Marian and Djaq, the traditional Saracen member of the Merry Men who in this story also happened to be a woman. Djaq got to choose to stay back with her people and live a peaceful life with her lover Will Scarlett instead of going back to England to fight, but Marian was caught in a twisted love triangle with Robin Hood and Guy, where her true love was Robin but she also felt some affection for Guy because she thought he was capable of becoming a better man and knew how much mistreatment and abuse he got from the Sheriff any time he failed to carry out his plans succesfully or catch Robin, while Guy himself was desperately in love with Marian and was torn between his own power-hungry, violent ways and wanting to do things to please so she would love him back... she tricked him into doing things to her and the Merry Men's advantage but then started to encourage him to defy the Sheriff, he threatened her father and burnt her house down so she'd be stuck under his "protection" in the castle of Nottingham but then started actually looking out for her and her safety. Until the season two finale, when things escalated to the point she essentially screamed in his face that she would only ever love Robin and he never really had a chance with her, and he flew into a rage at that and killed her.
So yeah, Guy started out in a VERY dark place in season three, torn and guilty over what he'd done to Marian and with any hope of redemption seemingly shattered. And then Isabella came in. She was introduced claiming to be a servant who'd taken on the identity of her mistress as a decoy to help her flee from some bad men and needing to get to Nottingham to be reunited with her, and obviously Robin offered to help her... but then the truth came out during an unexpected encounter with Guy, and painted him in an even bleaker light: she was his sister and the men she was running from were sent by her abusive husband, a nobleman Guy had sold her to when she was just thirteen. You'd think Isabella had travelled to Nottingham to meet her brother and ask him to rescue her, but no, she was just looking for a place close enough to flee to with only the small bag of coins she'd managed to save for herself. She didn't even know about Guy's role in Nottingham or the part he played in oppressing the people there, initially addressing him as her "sweet brother" upon meeting him again, but of course she was in for a rude awakening. Later, she tried asking him why he hadn't kept her with him, and his only explanation was that her husband, Sir Thornton, had paid him well to have her.
At first, it seemed their dynamic would lead to cementing Guy's tole as an out-and-out villain and and insert Isabella as a new ally of the Merry Men who knew him well and could offer some insight on him, sort of like a new Marian: the writers even played with making her a new love interest for Robin, though there was also a love triangle going on with Kate. But there was also a persistent distrust for her among the Merry Men, and even somewhat in Robin's mind, though he was allegedly more hang-up about her lying on their first meeting (when she didn't know him and wasn't sure he'd be kinder or more reliable than the other men in her life!), and all of it because of their perception of her as Gisborne's Sister. Like she would eventually turn out to be the same as him because they were family.
The tensions between Isabella and Guy and Isabella and Robin and his men worsened, no thanks to Guy alternating between "stay away from her, Hood, she knows where her loyalties are!" and "nah, I don't really care about her, I even got her a noble husband and she was so ungrateful about it" and Robin leading her on only to then hit her with "oh, sorry, I'm actually not over Marian yet, and besides it wouldn't really work between us, would it?", until, finally, she allied herself with Prince John (who had at one point already allied himself with Guy) against both. This culminated in her being appointed as the new Sheriff (the previous one having seemingly died by Guy's own hand) and arresting and preparing to execute her brother, but being narrowly stopped by the arrival of her husband. Thornton stripped her of her new role to take it for himself and resumed verbally and physically abusing her, his mistreatment of her escalating up to a scene with very uncomfortable implications in Isabella's bedroom, where she finally killed him... only for Robin to burst in right after, motivated partly by his still lingering attraction to her but also by the fact that he'd previously faced off against Thornton himself and told him to steer clear of Nottingham. Robin interpreted Isabella's very obvious act of self-defense as cold-blooded murder and proof that she really was as bad as he and especially his friends had feared, and completely wrote her off as a love interest, friend, and ally.
During the same episode as Guy's arrest and Thornton's death, a parallel storyline was also going on with a one-shot character, a young noblewoman named Meg. Her father had brought her to Isabella due to her refusal to be sold off in an arranged marriage, clearly expecting Isabella to act like any other Sheriff would have and force into obeying. But Isabella, of course, saw herself in her and decided to help her instead... only for Meg to be arrested anyway when Thornton seized power and she tried to help Isabella in return. In jail, she met Guy, and while she was initially hostile to him, she eventually saw the good side that had remained in him all that time and fell for him. To the point of trying to help him escape after Isabella, having killed Thornton, freed her again. Isabella, of course, didn't take kindly to the one person she still felt was on her side going behind her back out of sympathy for the brother that was the origin of all her troubles and had pretty much told her he didn't regret anything he'd done to her, and the episode ended with Guy narrowly escaping a double execution with a dying Meg in his arms, in an explicit parallel to Marian's death that finally moved Guy's conscience enough to kickstart his true redemption arc.
After that, the siblings's roles as hero with a dark past and not-entirely-honest ways and villain were suddenly reversed: Guy joined Robin's fight for justice, even if initially at least in part just to get revenge on his sister, and Isabella became the increasingly paranoid and ruthless villain. Guy's alliance with the good guys was also aided by another long-lost relative suddenly showing up: Robin's father, thought to have died many years before, who revealed to Guy and Robin to truth about an incident that happened during their childhood (and that was probably thought up/retconned into the story by the writers only in the third season...) that caused the death of Guy's parents, his having to flee his destroyed childhood home with only Isabella by his side, and his hatred for Robin. Oh, and also the fact that Robin's father had actually had a child with Guy's mother and brought him to another town when he was just a baby, thus giving them both a half-brother in common whom they had to find and inform that he wasn't actually an orphan and making them family, which apparently meant they had a solid reason to work together.
At the end of the series, in the build-up to the last battle between the heroes and the villains, Guy captured Isabella as a hostage and he gave her poison so she could kill herself with it. But Isabella escaped and, in a last fight also including Robin and the return of the original Sheriff, she wounded him with a blade soaked in the very same poison... shortly before dying herself in the destruction of the castle of Nottingham.
Now, I know this might not look all that shippable unless you're into particularly twisted shipping dynamics. But Guy actually did have some moments here and there, despite his words, when he did seem to feel remorse over selling Isabella to Thornton and shock over what his decision had led to. And there was also one early moment where Prince John asked him to kill her (for hanging out with Robin and protecting him, I think) and he couldn't go through with it so he told her to kill Robin (which she wouldn't either, at least not at that point) and if she did then he'd make up some lie to relay to the Prince to make it look like she'd been on their side all along. And before she came to the conclusion that their relationship was too far gone for her to forgive him, Isabella, too, genuinely seemed to still feel affection for her brother and just wanted Guy to apologize and show her that he understood what he'd done to her. Even his giving her poison in the series finale could be interpreted as a form of mercy, and after she finally managed to actually kill him, she looked like she felt regret, or at least sadness, over it. Which is why I think that, despite all the hatred and rage that were undoubtedly there on both sides, those two did still love each other on some level they just didn't want to admit to.
I've also very briefly touched on the flashback episode about their childhood and Robin's, mostly because it was Robin- and Guy-centric episode and idt young Isabella even had one line in it. But the important thing about that (... at least for this post. I could talk about how people who shipped Robin/Guy and poly!Robin/Marian/Guy had a pseudo-incestuous "oh, those two actually have a half-brother in common!" randomly dropped on them, lol) is, on the one hand, that it somewhat ironically established family as a good reason to leave differences and grudges asides, even between people with a very difficult history together, in the show's values (why couldn't we have the same with the Gisborne siblings, then??), and on the other hand, that it gave some perspective to what had really happened in Guy and Isabella's past. They each were the only living family the other had, having lost their parents as children in the fire that also cost them their house, and when they lost the place they lived in, they'd had no choice but to wander the streets together until they found something better.
I don't want to justify any of Guy's actions, especially not when the show itself essentially decided to undermine all of Isabella's trauma and suffering as soon as it put her in the "villain" box and finally followed through with her brother's redemption, but I can absolutely him imagine him as a lost, scared (and guilty... this ask is already long enough as it is without explaining that whole subplot, but at the time, it appeared to him that their parent's death was at least partly his own fault) kid, with no land or money to his name, thinking that selling the little sister who'd suddenly fallen into his care and that he might have thought himself unable (or even undeserving) to take care of to a rich nobleman would fix both their problems... perhaps not realizing who he was really dealing with, or having suspicions yet dismissing them because if things went well both he and Isabella would be safer than on their own and not have to worry about food and other needs. I can also see him repressing any doubts he might have had after or forcing himself to ignore any news he might have heard, especially after he became the sort of man who'd be content working for the Sheriff of Nottingham: he was never all bad, but he was always good at denial and trying to shield himself from the consequences of his actions to cope with whatever he'd done, which would be expected for a man who was too bad for the heroes, too good for the villains, and eternally undecided on which path he should take.
Looking back, I wish Guy had managed to face his failures, evil deeds, and trumatic past sooner then he did, enough to tell Isabella "yes, I did hurt you, and even though I thought it was for the best at the time, that doesn't make it okay... but I still love you, whether you forgive me or not." I wish Marian, if she really did have to die when her actress left the series and couldn't just (idk) also stay back in the Holy Land to help Saracen families devasted by the Crusades, didn't die in a way that would of course make Guy a worse person and make him double on down on his worst traits, so he'd be more open to self-reflection and find his redemption sooner. And I wish Isabella herself had not felt so cornered, so out of allies and options and alone and angry, that she could only choose to be the one person on her own side and take her revenge on everyone else, but especially Guy, and that she hadn't stopped demanding a real answer from him or repressed the more positive feelings she still had towards him.
It's like that kind of tragedy that's simultaneously avoidable, because the characters would just need to TALK HONESTLY to each other, but also unavoidable because there's so much complex, twisted pain between them that you'd probably need to somehow dump a modern day therapist on their doorstep to get them to do even ONE right step in that direction.
... And of course, adding incest to all those layers that are already there would only make things more interesting to me. Again, just let Marian live in the Holy Land and bring her back in the finale to show her reunited with Robin, they were obviously the endgame couple from the first episode of season one and even in canon they find each other again in the afterlife after Robin dies heroically in his last stand! Then have the Gisborne siblings get over the two them and ride off in the sunset together to start again from scratch in a place where no one knows them! It's clearly the best option, lol.
I haven't watched this series, but I've thought about watching it seriously several times. I know I would ship Guy and Isabella A LOT, but I also know I would only be in for pain, so that's certainly holding me back.
Despite how twisted and toxic their relationship is, they've come up before. It seems like anyone incest-minded who see these two find them worth mentioning.
I really enjoyed reading your description of their storyline. I don't even need to watch the show now, lol. I got to follow their whole story. I deeply crave the alternate version you described.
Incest on top of Guy and Isabella's already complicated dynamic would be fire.

My Dream Couple <3
@vsnotresponding @olive-riggzey
Hi guys <333
anyway, here's for some spontaneous excerpt. But it's Verity and Lao asking each other out on a date.
context: Verity is lying that she's being forced to be a servant within her own home, including taking care of Ray. She tells Lao that she's a tutor/nanny that cares for the 'nobleman's son.' Said 'nobleman's son' is really Ray, who at this point has already contacted Lao (read: he knows she's lying). Elanor (my asexual Cinderella queen) has just informed Verity that in six months there will be a ball where all commoners are invited. Verity is low-key fishing to see if Lao knows about this lsdfjklsdfjlksldfj. OH. and Lao works in the royal kitchens under Kai (I think I'm funny)
I will post the actual date at another time!! But I thought this was cute and wanted to share :)
“Go on,” Elanor said, and Verity thought she heard a soft sadness in her voice. The thought left as quickly as it came though, as Verity left Elanor with a bright smile while she bounded towards Lao.
Verity waved fanatically at him, and then not sure it was fitting, lowered her hand. Lao’s head lifted from examining a carrot. The upper corner of his mouth lifted upwards, and he offered a little wave.
Quickening her pace, Verity approached Lao. “Wasn’t sure if I would see you in the marketplace today.”
“Prince Charming is in a mood, and it was all hands on deck,” Lao said. His mouth opened, but then shut again. The butterflies in Verity’s stomach soared, as she waited for him to say what he wanted. “How was your morning?”
Doing her best to hide the disappointment, Verity said “Oh, just the usual. I gave the nobleman’s son his breakfast, cleaned the house a bit, and tutored. I’ve been waiting for the postman to come.”
“Why is that?” Lao asked.
“Well…I always wait for the postman. To see if there’s any good news.”
“Does your family write you?” Lao asked.
“Uh…um…no like local good news. Events.” Verity twisted her fingers painfully. Maybe this was a bad idea. Lao wouldn’t ask her to the ball. They were servants, and nothing more. Where would they find a dress or suit? They would stick out like sore thumbs. Worse yet, Lao was a servant for the royal family. It was practically insane of Verity to think that he would be admitted the evening off to court a peasant girl.
“Like a royal ball for commoners?” Lao asked with a raised eyebrow.
Verity leaned against the vegetable stand. “I-I hadn’t heard.”
“It’s all the rage in the castle. The postman is probably passed out on the road somewhere. Poor chap.”
“It must be brutal. Working during the feast.”
Lao eyed her, before he said “It’s all hands on deck, but Prince Alexander is trying to see if he can swindle some time for us servants to have fun too.”
“Th-that’s nice of him,” Verity said. Her cheeks lit on fire, and she barely managed to repress the urge to bury her face in her hands.
“He’s the better of the brothers, that’s for sure.” Lao said.
Blood filled Verity’s mouth, as she clamped down on her cheek.
This is so awkward. I should have asked him how his day was or something normal.
“I thought…” Lao trailed off, and Verity curled her toes.
“Do you want to do something fun together?” Verity blurted out. She clasped her hand against her mouth. “Sorry. That wasn’t proper. You’re at work, and I have a rambunctious boy to tutor–”
Verity looked at anywhere but Lao, her eyes squinting at the bright yellow sun that shone down on them.
“I was going to ask the same thing, but you beat me to it,” Lao said with a soft laugh. “And what do you mean it’s not proper? I wouldn’t…care about something like that.”
Verity’s nose crinkled, as she stared into the sun, her eyes watering. “If I asked to court you?”
Lao reached for her hand that was behind her back. Tearing her eyes away free from the blinding sun, she looked into Lao’s amber eyes. Lao’s eyes were as warm as a hearth, and it made Verity realize how cold she felt. A long diminished spark lit in her chest, and it was one that she didn’t want to fade.
Bringing her hand to his lips, Lao gently kissed the top of her cracked hand. “I’d like to court you, and I like it when you’re honest with me.”
Verity’s throat caught at the last part.
I like it when you’re honest with me.
“I…” Verity’s voice faltered, and Lao squeezed her hand tighter.
“Is there something you want to say?”
“N-no. Just…I’d like to court you too.”
Lao’s fingers only clasped onto hers tighter. “I know of a beautiful spot that we could go to. Unless, you had plans of your own?”
“It just burst out of me. The question.”
“There’s a secret place I go to. If you meet me under the cathedral, I can take you there. It can be a surprise.”
People bustled around the two of them, but Verity hardly noticed. “I…”
I don’t have a dress.
Verity’s eyes flitted to her torn dress. Practically rags with how much scrubbing she did. Relinquishing her hand from Lao, she hugged her arms to her chest.
Soft lips brushed her cheek. “Come as you are. I like you, Ver.” Verity’s heart hammered against her chest. “Tomorrow under the cathedral at sunset?”
I’ll still have chores.
Instead, she reasonably said with fingernails pinching her skirt. “That’s perfect.”
“I’ll see you then,” Lao said. “Now, I have a cranky boss to attend to. I really ought to focus on these vegetables or he’ll send another errand boy, who isn’t rumored to speak with beautiful girls in the market.”
Lao grabbed the carrot he needed, and left Verity standing with a flush so hot upon her cheeks that it put fevers to shame.
From behind her, she heard Elanor’s voice call out. Her friend’s hands grasped her arm. “So what happened?”
She looked to Elanor, who was all happy smiles and giddy laughter. “I need to find a dress before tomorrow, and someone needs to look after the ‘nobleman’s son.’”
“I might have some dresses you can borrow, but it’s a secret.”
Dragging her away, Verity left with Elanor to look over her secret stash of dresses.

࿇ ══━━━━✥◈✥━━━━══ ࿇
The crowd trailed behind the entourage that was passing through the streets, all of them dressed in black mourning clothes as the priest leading them recited solemn verses in the Latin language that hardly any of the villagers understood. The only other sound besides the collective steps of their feet was the heart wrenching wailing coming from the grief stricken mother who clutched tightly onto the casket that held her deceased daughter's body, the corpse pale as snow while the darkened black lips struck out in sharp contrast. The bystanders looked at the now childless parents with pity, some of the men taking off their caps and draping it across their chest to show respect, while some of the women clutched their own children closely to them, fearing that perhaps one of their own might become the next victim in the series of horrific and unnatural deaths that were suddenly spiking up out of nowhere. The skies had been a smokey gray for quite some time, sunshine hadn't hit them ever since these horrible misfortunes started happening. The town was swept by death, causing a somber and haunting atmosphere that sent chills down the spines of even the bravest of men.
Some distance away from the funeral mass, a gloomy looking nobleman watched from on top of his horse as they marched towards the cemetary, the loud ringing of the church bell behind him adding a more dark effect to the event. He took a deep breath at the scene, these types of things no longer affecting him, he had become quite numb to them after having seen and witnessed so many of them. Still, he felt bothered by the fact that they had yet to find a solution to the problem. Ever since he and other nobles from the area, and even some from neighboring towns, were tasked with the mission of finding the root of the evil sending doom upon the towns and villages, they had hardly gotten any rest from the endless crying demands for answers from the peasants, from the king and parliament putting pressure on them to get things fixed and their own minds starting to crumble from seeing death everywhere.
Hearing the rattling of chains being scraped across the stone pavement, he turned his head to see 4 armored knights dragging a poor young woman. The tiny and frail thing already had scrapes across her body, her tired and sore limbs could barely stand up as she was being led to her execution. Her pleading and cries stating her innocence fell upon deaf ears, just like her predecessors. No matter how much she begged to be spared or asked for help, she was only met with disdainful and hate filled stares from anyone that saw, some even going as far as cursing or spitting at her direction. That was another scene that had become weekly thing, but unlike the other which didn't faze him, this was the one that still affected him greatly:
The burnings at the stakes of the supposed witches.
The galloping of another horse signaled that someone else was approaching him. Tugging gently at his trusted steed, he shifted to the right so he could welcome the person coming up to him, their horse neighing loudly as it came to a stop.
"Any reports Hongjoong?" He recognized the male as one of the noblemen he was closer to, though he wouldn't necessarily call him a friend.
Shaking his head, the raven haired male drew out an exhausted sigh.
"Not since the last one I sent, Chan. There's nothing much to detail right now. We either have to wait until the next child dies or until the next person is captured and tried for witchcraft." He gulped as he feared that the latter would be the case.
"I take it you saw the one we just caught?" Chan asked.
Hongjoong merely nodded, his partner seeming satisfied.
"Hopefully that's the last of them bloody pagans. Causing nothing but trouble in the kingdom, I wish they all died."
He wasn't surprised to hear his comrades or otherwise talk so spitefully against so called witches. He was very well aware of their hatred for them, blaming them for all the bad things that occurred to them such as famines, bad weather, plagues and other misfortunes.
"Are we even certain that it truly is them to blame for all these things?"
Chan looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Oi mate, don't tell me you're actually softening up to them? Everyone knows witches are the devil's workers sent out to strike us with all sorts of evils. If we get rid of them, we'll finally have some peace around here."
Hongjoong resisted the urge to roll his eyes or say something else. He knew how dangerous it was to voice out anything that went against the population opinion, and his status as one of the elite ranked nobles wouldn't spare him either. So instead he just kept quiet, and tried to do his job as best he could without having to point fingers or arrest anyone in the process. He definitely didn't want anymore innocent people burned just to satisfy the sadistic and twisted desires of others.
"I best be going now. I'm going to take one last look around the outskirts of town and see if I find anything unusual."
Chan commended his partner and wished him good fortune, he himself turning the other direction to oversee the burning that was about to happen. Kicking his horse's abdomen gently, Hongjoong raced through the streets, passing all the houses and farmlands, carefully making his way into the dense and eerie forest that was a few miles away from the town. Not one pious person dared to enter there, for there were rumors that it was the dwelling place of evil spirits, the few people who had gone in swearing on their lives that supernatural events occurred there.
But Hongjoong believed no such things nor paid attention to any of the talk such simple minded folks spewed out. Though he could not outwardly say it, he was opposed to the witch trials, believing the so called pagans to be harmless people who simply had different religious views and beliefs from the holy catholic church that predominated across the country. He was thoroughly convinced that they used brute force and drastic measures to eradicate anyone who dared present a challenge to their authority and thus strike fear into people, forcing them to stay in their churches, ruling over them with a tight iron fist.
Of course there was a time where Hongjoong himself believed in them just as the others still did. He used to be a very religious and righteous person, making sure to follow through on the customs and traditions laid out by the church and which were taught to him since infancy. There was a time he too was fervent in his endeavor to rid the country of all the heretics and pagans and hated them with a burning passion......
That is until he met one, not only seeing them up close, but he actually was saved by them when he accidentally slipped by a riverbank and nearly drowned. But he was caught and rescued. When he regained consciousness, he found himself staring up into the most beautiful [insert color] eyes that he had ever seen in his life. The kind stranger had taken him back to what he assumed was her temporary home, given that witches hardly stayed at one place for a long time. She treated the gnashes on his body that were caused by the sharp rocks and fed him some strange but delicious soups that helped him regain energy and his strength. Seeing and receiving her kindness and generosity even when she knew very well who he was had him questioning everything he was ever taught. He found himself going back into the woods, his only goal was to see her again. He visited her every time he could, growing fond of the exotic woman and developing a deep affection for her, which was more than welcomed by her as she reciprocated his feelings.
Slowly guiding his horse through the vast trees, he let out a smile as he finally spotted a familiar head of [insert color] hair. She had her back turned to him, the woman busy as she played with raven that had perched itself on her arm after being offered berries and other nuts. She whistled at it softly, giggling when the bird finished up its last morsel of food before spreading its wings and soaring high up on the sky.
"Beautiful." She couldn't help but say as she admired the way it flew across the heavens.
"Yes you are."
She was startled by the voice that suddenly spoke up behind her, but when she saw who it belonged her, her face brightened up. Quickly getting off his horse, Hongjoong ran over towards his lover who was equally sprinting over to him, careful not to stumble on her long emerald green dress. They embraced each other tightly, having gone weeks without seeing or hearing from each other.
"Thank goodness you're ok." Hongjoong whispered, placing a strong kiss on her cheek.
"My lord, I missed you." She brushed a hand across his face as she often did to feel his aura and warmth, something he learned long ago not to question. He simply allowed her to finish before taking her hand and placing kisses all over each of her fingertips.
"And I you. I missed you terribly Y/N. I thought I was going to be driven mad if I didn't see you again."
Thumbs caressing her jaw, his eyes looked into hers, silently asking for permission like they always did whenever he wanted a certain thing. Nodding enthusiastically, she pulled his body against hers and allowed him to kiss her. His kiss was desperate and full of emotions, as expected from someone who had been kept away from his love for too long. Once he got his fill of stealing more than a few kisses from her, he pulled away but still kept her at an arm's length, refusing to be separated from her.
"Are you well my love? You seem pained and agitated." She pointed out.
Hongjoong never felt any qualms about sharing his problems or thoughts with her. She wasn't oblivious to what was going on back in the town, which is why she stayed hidden, far away from prying eyes.
"Another child died recently and with that.... another trial."
Y/N shuddered slightly at the mention of the trials, not because she feared for her own life. But because she knew very well most if not all of the people who had died were all innocent and did not participate let alone knew anything about the practices she indulged in.
"It's not stopping anytime soon is it?"
Hongjoong shook his head in a defeated stance.
"Unless we find a reason as to why there are countless mortalities in the infants, they won't stop until they eliminate half of the population."
Feeling frustrated, Hongjoong walked over to one of the trees and punched the trunk, not caring that his knuckles were now scraped and had blood on them. Wanting to comfort him, Y/N wrapped her arms behind him, pulling him tightly against her body as she began singing a soft and oriental style lullaby that she'd often sing to him. He did not understand the words nor got a hint as to what the language was and he didn't dare ask. But it was soothing and healing to hear. He closed his eyes and felt himself drift off into a lucid dream in which no one else but him and Y/N existed. He began to forget about reality and instead enjoyed that moment of being with the person he loved and cherished the most. He was so enchanted by her voice he didn't even realize she had turned him around and trapped him between the tree and her body until he felt his back hit against the trunk.
Awakening from his trance, he gazed down at his lovely enchantress, his eyes lowering down to take in her curves that stood out in that tight and fitted dress she was wearing. He began to have impure thoughts and imagined what would she look like without those garments, no doubt majestic and gorgeous. Her silhouette was very desirable and he'd often fantasise about having her nude body pressed against his own. As if reading his thoughts, Y/N pressed her chest against his, rubbing her breasts against his torso which had Hongjoong inhaling sharply as he stared down at her cleavage.
"I shouldn't feel like this.." He admitted rather embarrassed, having always prided himself in being able to restrain himself from such sinful and tempting desires.
Chuckling softly, the young witch pressed open mouth kisses across his jaw, making him fall deeper into her charms, unable to resist her touches. Another thing about Y/N: she awakened some very unwholesome and carnal feelings that had been buried deep down for years. He had never looked nor thought of a woman like he did with her. Never did he feel an intense want to own her, claim her body and fill her up with his seed so they could be connected as one. But he always shyed away from fully releasing his earthly desires, afraid of not being able to satisfy her given his lack of experience.
"Oh God-" Hongjoong muttered when her mouth nibbled across his neck, teeth raking against his soft skin.
"Do you really think it's wise to call out to him when we're doing something that's completely unholy?" She teased, lightly sucking on a particularly sensitive patch of skin.
Hongjoong tensed up when he felt her hand brush along his pants. Instinctively, he stopped her hand, effectively making her pull away from his neck to make sure she didn't cause him any harm or unpleasant feeling.
"Remember I'm- I'm a virgin..." He said that last part very quietly, cheeks turning a faint red tone.
Smiling kindly at him, she pressed a chaste kiss on his lips.
"I'm well aware my love and I promised I wouldn't force you to do anything you're not ready for. So trust me, I will wait until you're ready." She assured him.
Hongjoong felt blessed to have her, she was so caring and understanding with him, not to mention patient and reasonable. He felt safe when he was with her and he felt truly free to be who he really was and not someone society expected him to be.
"That being said..... I can't let my lord leave with a problem in his trousers. So just relax and trust me for a moment ok?"
Hongjoong watched carefully as she sank down on her knees, her eyes looking up at him with such lust and fiery passion. Although stiffening when she palmed at his tent, he relaxed and let himself enjoy the feeling. He didn't blink at all when he saw her take out his member from its confinement, her eyes graced at seeing his well endowed length for the very first time. Hongjoong couldn't do anything but gasp and moan when her wet and hot mouth was suddenly taking him in, his head hitting the very end of her mouth. He swallowed hard and threw his head against the tree behind him, getting addicted to this new and unholy sensation that was building up inside him. A seemingly wrong yet wondrous stirring began to form on the pit of his stomach, piling up and threatening to break loose very soon. Clasping the back of her head to steady his trembling legs, he shook harshly as he felt his release spurt out of him and run down her throat. Y/N hummed in approval and satisfaction as she tasted and gulped down the creamy and delectable flavor of her lover, making sure not to let one drip go to waste.
When she pulled back and dressed him back up, Hongjoong was still in shock, eyes wide as he tried to comprehend what had just taken place. Flashing him a mischievous smirk, Y/N kissed him one last time, slipping her tongue inside his mouth to let him get a taste of himself.
"It's getting late my lord. You best be getting back before the evil spirits come out and claim your soul."
They both bursted into laughter at her teasing words, embracing each other one last time as the sun set behind them.
࿇ ══━━━━✥◈✥━━━━══ ࿇
Returning back from a week's journey from the capital, Hongjoong got off his horse and handed the reins over to one of the lackeys that tended and watched over the horses while the masters tended to serious matters inside the castle. The guards paid their respects, welcoming Hongjoong back and opening the doors up for him. Stepping into the foyer, he acknowledged all the other men that wandered through the halls, bidding them greetings and overall studying the atmosphere. Everyone seemed to be in confusion and full of anxiety, which made him wonder what on earth had happen while he was away.
"Hongjoong!"
He turned to find none other than Chan striding over to him, his face illuminated with a brilliant and triumphant smile. Although Hongjoong extended his hand so it could be shaken, Chan went the extra mile and actually draped one of his abnormally long arms across his comrade.
"I think we finally did it mate."
Hongjoong raised an eyebrow at him, letting Chan guide him down one of the staircases that led to the torture chambers and cells they used for criminals.
"Did what?"
Chan seemed eager to share his findings.
"We might actually be on the brink of solving this long time problem that has been plaguing us with sorrow and grief."
"You mean to tell me the doctor's have finally found a cure for this disease?" Perhaps he was hoping for too much, after all, this was Chan he was speaking to.
"No! Even better mate! We captured someone-"
Hongjoong immediately tuned him out, it was too early for him to start hearing another sermon on why pagans and witches were evil and deserved to die. Besides, Chan always swore anyone he captured was the one who caused all the distressing situations they had thus encountered, but of course, there were still children dying. So Hongjoong refused to hear him gloat about finding the 'leader' of the cult. It seemed as though Chan could read Hongjoong's expression.
"I know you think I'm crazy Joong, but trust me. This time....it's for real."
Ushering the guards to let them pass through the iron barred doors, Chan and Hongjoong stepped inside the dimly lit dungeon, the crackling noise of the fire torches hung across the stone walls and the faint sound of water dripping being their only companions.
"She herself didn't even deny the fact that she's a witch. She proudly identified herself as one."
"But has she admitted to causing this plague throughout the land?" Hongjoong interrogates him.
"She adamantly denies that, but it doesn't matter. She's a professed witch and thus must receive a proper execution just like the rest of her kind. It's actually scheduled for tomorrow."
"If that's the case and her fate is sealed, why are you bringing me down here? I'll witness her death in the morning anyhow." Hongjoong had a mind to turn around and go back home, irked at the fact he had been summoned for this foolishness without even getting a chance to rest at his home.
"Well no need to get upset mate. I just thought you'd want to see her that's all. I'll tell you this, she's one of the prettiest pagans I've ever met. Her darling face could be mistaken for an angel's actually."
Crossing a corner and finally standing in front of the cell that held their captive, Hongjoong froze when the prisoner lifted her face and he saw who it was.
"No....it can't be.." His worst fear had come true as it was none other than Y/N who was being kept locked away in the prison.
"Told you she was very pretty? Took your breath away did she?" Chan let out a hearty laugh, but Hongjoong wasn't amused in the slightest bit. He peered with sorrowful and apologetic eyes at his secret lover, who throughout all this remained calm and collected, not letting a single facial muscle give away anything.
"Such a pity to know she'll die though."
Hongjoong clenched his hand into a fist, determined to punch Chan but when he met Y/N's eyes, she silently warned him not to think about doing something so foolish.
"Well now that you saw her, we best be going back now."
"No...... let me talk to her for a moment." Hongjoong stated.
Although confused, Chan didn't think too much about it.
"Suit yourself, but be careful. Don't want her putting a curse on you or something."
Waiting until the clanking of the doors signaled that they were bolted and making sure no one was within earshot of them, Hongjoong pressed himself against the bars that held him back from embracing his lovely maiden.
"Are you all right?"
Y/N looked around at her surroundings, humming softly before standing up from the wooden chair.
"Not exactly the most comfortable of places, but I've slept in much worse conditions than this. At least they're decent enough to bring me a meal every few hours." Her light chuckle and unworried demeanor was startling Hongjoong.
"Y/N, I don't know how but I'll get you out of here. Just let me run back to my place and-"
"Hongjoong." She interrupted him and stepped right in front of him, her fingers touching his hand as much as she could despite having an obstacle between them.
"You won't be successful. We'll be captured in no time and not only will I still be burned, you will suffer an even worst fate than mine. I can't...I absolutely forbid you to do anything about my situation."
Hongjoong began breathing heavily, cursing the heavens for being powerless in tearing the iron bars down and taking her away from him.
"I can't just let you die. I can't..... I love you." He sobbed, nails desperately clawing at the metallic wall as if he could tear through them.
"And I love you my lord. I always will...... but I need you to trust me now more than ever. You do trust me right?"
"With my entire soul, heart, mind and existence." He replied with no hesitation.
She smiled fondly at his answer.
"Then I need you to do one final thing for me."
Sliding up the sleeve of her dress, she pulled off a flower from the makeshift bracelet she often had on her.
"See this flower? This is called a valerian officinalis. I'm sure you've seen many of them grow near my cottage."
Recognizing the small yet sweet smelling flower, Hongjoong immediately nodded.
"I'm going to need you to go back to my place and gather about 6 of them. Boil them in a pot of water and drink its contents."
Hongjoong listened to each of her instructions, engraving them on his mind.
"And then?"
With lips curled into a wicked smile, Y/N responded:
"And then just wait for me to return to you."
Hongjoong was about to say something, ask about how it would be possible, but Y/N hushed him.
"I told you to trust me my lord, so please trust me when I say that we will see each other again. I will make sure of it. You have nothing to fear."

The young woman took careful and meticulous steps across the dirt road she was being left upon. Her bare feet were covered in dirt and grime, matching her hands which were outstretched in front of her, wrists bound with iron cuffs that had various chains attached to it, each being pulled by 4 different men who wore black robes with hoods covering their heads. She held her head up high, refusing to lose her dignity as she trailed through the marshland around her. Her eyes were fixed on the pole that stood near the end of the road, a crucifix nailed at the very top while a pile of hay and and wood was gathered at the base of it. Her guides themselves were bearing torches that were already blazing in flames, soon to be consuming her body.
Finally coming in front of the stake, she didn't hesitate to step up and press her back against the wooden pole, further confusing the men in charge of escorting her there. Still they just opted for finishing their task as they began to tie her body to the stake with ropes, the harsh material scratching against the exposed parts of her skin. She nearly rolled her eyes as one of them began reciting some holy repertoire that was probably said at every execution. One of the men stepped up in front of her, placing his torch near the base.
"Any last words?" He asked as they always did before lighting the victims on fire.
Closing her eyes, Y/N took a deep breath, gathering all her strength before uttering out her next words:
"Ex inferno, et incendent civitatem hanc oriri me cinere."
The 4 men looked at each other in confusion, wondering what she said, but ultimately failed to comprehend her words. Following as the man in charge was doing, they all lowered their torches onto the hay and wood, immediately setting it ablaze. Stepping back from the flames, they watched as the smoke began to cover the young woman's body, the last thing they saw through all the dense fumes was the young witch's haunting face, an evil grin staring back at them, sending shivers down their bodies as they wondered if they were hallucinating or did they in fact watched her eyes shift to a dark crimson color. Before they could even ask each other if they saw the same thing, they all began screaming in agony as their bodies suddenly began burning with great intensity, raging fires consuming their flesh and bones in mere minutes until nothing but a pile of ashes were scattered about.
At a distance, back in the quiet and unsuspecting town, the villagers went about their business, all of them happy at the news that the so called leader of the cult that had plagued and tortured them for so long was finally being put to death. They began to think that finally they would no longer live under the fear of having heathens roam around disrupting their lives. All of them had jolly and gleeful smiles on their faces, the town booming with laughter and celebration.....
Their laughter was soon replaced by their frantic and terrified shouting, smiles transforming into crying and fear stricken expressions as fire began to sprout out from the ground in all directions, starting with the holy church that was the center of their town. One by one, all of the houses, from the most humble to the most luxurious and extravagant ones of them burst into flames. The raging fire showed no mercy as it consumed man, woman, children and livestock with no discrimination. All of them soon fell victim to the excruciating fiery death that they had inflicted against countless innocent victims that deserved no such fate.....
Now they had to paid for their sins, pay them in full until their ashes laid scattered all around, leaving absolutely no soul spared.
All of them burned to the ground.
࿇ ══━━━━✥◈✥━━━━══ ࿇
Violently sitting up, Hongjoong gasped sharply as he woke up from a very deep and dark sleep. Looking around, he realized he was still inside Y/N's quaint and exotic cottage. Seeing a sliver of light pour in, he realized he must have been knocked out for hours.
"Y/N!"
Remembering that she was to be executed that morning, he dashed out of her home, running as fast as he could through the forest in the direction of the village. He hoped he wasn't too late. He knew she told him to trust her, but he was only human and he was desperate to go investigate what had happened. Through clenched teeth, he pushed past his tired state and made it past the last monumental trees that stood near the end of the forest. He halted when he caught a glimpse of the town from where he stood:
The air was all gray, a dense cloud of smoke covered almost the entirety of the town. Through the blackened ruins he could still spot a few orange and red flames that refused to die out until it had completed its mission of destroying every last stone and brick in the area. He was completely awestruck at the scene, unable to say anything as the sun started to set behind him.
Realizing how dangerous it was to stay there, he turned back and ran inside the forest once more. He ran around as if he were a madman, with no clear direction in mind. He just went wherever his legs seemed to carry him. He finally stopped right in front of the creek that ran through the forest. He leaned against one of the sycamores that grew throughout the woodland. His panted deeply, trying to catch his breath. He was on the verge of combusting into tears when he suddenly distinguished a familiar tune echoing through the forest. He knew that eerie and haunting melody anywhere, and even blind he'd be able to follow that sweet voice right to its owner without a guide. Looking around, he searched in hopes of finding where the singer was hiding. Hongjoong began to wonder if perhaps his mind was just being delusional, but the rustling of leaves behind him let him know it wasn't the case.
"You're an awfully difficult person to find my lord."
He let out a sigh of relief at finally hearing Y/N's voice again. Turning around, he was about to hold her in his arms but he stopped himself when he saw the state she was in: there his lover stood, hair completely down while her body was completely bare to him. He swallowed hard as he found it difficult to look away as his eyes took in her perfectly sculpted breasts, slowly trailing down her body and fixing their gaze in between her legs, admiring her lady mound. His mouth was agape, his whole body stunned as he saw Y/N in her most vulnerable state for the first time. He could faintly distinguish a few gnashes on her wrists and ankles, no doubt brought upon due to the scraping of bounds that was she was subjected to. And although she cleaned most of it off, there was still some leftover soot staining parts of her body, mostly on her shoulders, knees and elbows. And yet she still looked as ethereal as ever, perhaps even more so now.
She couldn't hide her smirk as she was not oblivious about him gawking at her figure. She simply and calmly walked closer to him, taking in each reaction he made. She could feel him get aroused the closer their distance got.
"I hope the sight doesn't fall short from what you had imagined." She teased him, her hands wrapping around his neck.
"Oh trust me..... you're even more beautiful than I imagined."
Hongjoong lifted up one hand so it could caress her arm, though his movements were rather awkward and hesitant. She knew he kept questioning whether it was all right for him to touch you. Wanting to assure him it was not a crime, she pecked his lips before taking one of his hands and placing it on her chest right where her heart was.
"Do not be afraid my lord. I'm all yours and you're free to touch me as you please." She was actually longing for him to touch her, feel his hands on her most intimate parts.
Looking back into her eyes, Hongjoong pulled her against him, one arm around her waist while the other kept her chin tilted up so he may devour her mouth, using all the tongue movements he remembered her doing on him. His hand that was innocently holding her waist moved to a less chaste position as it cupped one of her tender breasts. He squeezed and pressed against her soft flesh, playing around and familiarizing himself with the outline of her erect nipples. His other hand followed suit and dropped to apply the same treatment on her other breasts, not wanting it to feel neglected from his gentle groping. Y/N gasped softly when Hongjoong pulled his mouth away from hers so he could kiss along her jaw and the top of her neck, catching her breath.
Meanwhile Hongjoong continued his exploration of her body. Slowly he inched a hand in between her legs, hesitating when it was inches away from her most intimate place, but eventually curiosity got the better of him and his fingers delved deep into her slit. He found it wet and warm, and it was fascinating to him. Dragging his fingers along her folds, he found that he could part them and touch an even softer and silky lining. Whenever he brushed or touched a certain tiny nub, he could feel her body becoming more responsive. Indeed, as he began to rub and press against that tiny organ, her lewd sounds were becoming more frequent and higher in pitch. The more he touched and probed around the forbidden parts of her body, the more his desire grew to become one with her, lust starting to take over his senses, slowly crumbling the last shred of self control he had.
"Take me." He finally said.
Being so dazed from having him touch her, Y/N fluttered her eyes open in confusion.
"I'm ready my love. Just take all of me and make me yours. I want you to defile me." His eyes burned with determination, not one shred of doubt in them.
Grinning at him, Y/N reached over to unclasp the cape that he was wearing and laid it flat on the earth beneath them. Starting with his silk shirt, she began to strip him out of his noble attire, refusing to let him help her out. She wanted to undress him as she wanted. More than satisfied with his bare body in front of her, Y/N guided him to lay down on the makeshift blanket, making sure to be as gentle and caring as possible. Hongjoong gasped when she climbed on top of him, her wet heat ever so slightly grazing upon his erect member. Taking one hand into her own, she made sure he was looking at her.
"I love you." She confessed.
"And I you." He replied in complete earnest.
Hongjoong groaned and threw his head back as his breathtaking enchantress sunk herself down onto him, effectively connecting their bodies together. It was the most intoxicating and thrilling experience he had ever felt. He didn't care if it was a mortal sin that would condemn him to an eternity in hell. He happily and gratefully allowed himself to be plunged deeper and deeper into damnation. He closed his eyes as on overwhelming wave of pleasure began to take over his body, numbing all other senses, the only thing he felt was how wonderful and bewildering Y/N's body felt on him. She too was enjoying herself, the look of amazement and passion on Hongjoong's face making her feel a sense of pride as she slowly stripped his last shred of purity from him. She loved him so dearly, she had never wanted someone as much as she wanted him. And now....she finally had him. He was all hers and only hers. He willingly and wholeheartedly gave all of himself to her with no regrets.
Feeling a fiery sensation form on the pit of his stomach, Hongjoong gasped violently as his body began convulsing and out from his member a load of semen poured out until it thoroughly coated his lover's velvet walls which had also began to tighten and constrict around him as a pool of heat rushed down Y/N's body when she felt the handsome man underneath her fill her up to the brim. Unable to resist any longer, she arched down and latched her mouth on his neck, suckling and nibbling against his petal like skin before sinking her teeth down, penetrating deep in his flesh. Hongjoong cried out softly at the stinging pain that felt so delicious at the same time.
"There now my sweet and darling lord..." Y/N lightly purred against his neck, her hot breath sending more shudders down his body.
Hongjoong felt like he was in a daze and he didn't want to come out of it. He did not feel frightened even as his gorgeous enchantress sat up once again and stared down at him intensely, her previously [insert color] eyes now a bright crimson color that burned like the depths of hell.
"You belong to me."

Gwaine + 8 "Make me"
Oooooh ooooh ooooh!!! Thanks Nony, I loved this one! I did have a little trouble writing it for some reason, I scrapped and started again four times before I got to this version, so I hope everyone likes this one 🙈
Merlin ducks as Lord Lucior swings a fist at him, bouncing away on the balls of his feet. The lord snarls and picks up the sword Merlin has just finished sharpening. He hefts it in his hand to test its weight then raises it towards Merlin, who is beginning to resent the fact Arthur lent out his services to the visiting nobleman.
“I don’t like your attitude, boy,” he hisses.
He slashes towards Merlin with the sword and Merlin only barely moves out of the way in time. He is backed up against the wall of the armoury, a quiver of arrows tumbling to the floor as he flails to get away from the lord’s second violent swing of the sword.
“I’m sorry!” he shouts quickly, not entirely sure what he’s apologising for.
“You will be very sorry when I’m through with you,” Lord Lucior promises.
The sword flashes forward faster than Merlin is ready for and he feels a sharp sting on his cheek. He lets out a small yelp and his fingers come away bloody when he raises them to touch the painful spot on his face. The lord just gives a satisfied smirk, raising the sword again for the next strike.
Wide eyed, Merlin dodges, his foot landing on a dropped arrow and slipping, sending him careening to the floor. He scrambles backwards across the floor to a large shield propped against a sword rack, ducking down behind it.
“Hey!” comes a shout from the doorway and Merlin’s heart soars at the familiar voice. Gwaine steps into the armoury, his cloak and chainmail draped over his arm. “What’s going on here?”
“Go away, this doesn’t concern you,” snaps Lord Lucior, waving a dismissive hand at Gwaine.
Gwaine scowls and flicks his hair out of his face. He glances over at Merlin, taking in the way he is almost cowering behind the shield and the blood on his cheek. He tosses his chainmail and cloak over one of the sword racks, fury radiating from every line of his body.
“Actually, it concerns me a lot how you’re treating my friend.” He strides across the room and grabs Merlin’s hand, pulling him up. He gives him a once over, his eyebrows pulled low as he checks Merlin is not severely injured. His jaw is clenched as he turns angrily to Lord Lucior and Merlin can feel the muscles in Gwaine’s arm straining under his hand as he fights to hold his temper. “I suggest you leave now and never touch him again.”
“He is an insolent peasant, and needs to be taught a lesson.” Lord Lucior raises his sword again, pointing it at Merlin.
Gwaine, his face like thunder, pulls Merlin behind him, his hand coming to rest on the pommel of his own sword warningly.
“Get out of the way,” Lucior shouts.
Gwaine lets his knees bend, crouching into a fighting stance as he draws his sword from his belt.
“Make me,” he growls.
Lucior snarls and lunges at Gwaine, his sword flashing as he slices down towards the knight. Gwaine, of course, is much quicker, parrying and knocking the lord’s blade point away, followed by a blow of his own that Lucior only just manages to stumble out of the way of. He is not a natural swordsman and Gwaine easily takes control of the fight.
Gwaine doesn’t wait for him to regain his footing, instead diving in with a quick sideways swing. Lucior pulls his sword up in time to block but Gwaine steps forward, pushing his advantage and sliding his blade along Lucior’s until the hilts lock together.
He twists the sword easily from the lord’s grip, letting it clatter to the floor, then presses him back against the wall. His blade is against Lucior’s chest, pressing tightly so the sharp edge slices the front of his fancy velvet doublet.
“I’ll tell the prince regent about this!” screams Lucior, indignation written in every line of his face.
“You just try,” Gwaine spits. “I think he’ll be very interested to hear about the way you treated his manservant.”
Gwaine steps back, pulling his sword away, but unable to resist flicking the tip at Lucior’s face, a thin red line marking his cheek the same as Merlin’s.
The lord is practically spitting with rage, but he is sensible enough to not make any more comments and merely pushes past Gwaine and leaves the armoury, his hand pressed to his cheek.
“That is why I hate nobles,” Gwaine says through gritted teeth, barely controlled anger simmering in his voice as he glares after him.
Merlin lays a hand on his arm, giving it a little shake. He huffs a sigh and turns to him.
“Thank you,” Merlin says as Gwaine drops his sword onto the table so he can cradle Merlin’s face with one hand, the other pulling his sleeve over his hand to wipe gently at the cut on Merlin’s cheek.
“Anything for you, Merls,” he mutters. Then shoots him a cynical smile and says wryly, “If he does tell Princess, I’m gonna be in trouble again, aren’t I?”
Merlin can’t help grinning, even though it does pull at the cut on his cheek. He shakes his head at Gwaine.
“You’re a knight now, remember; your word counts for just as much as his.”
Gwaine just grunts, his fingers trailing softly over Merlin’s cheek again, just below the cut. He sighs.
“Better take you back to Gaius.” And he draws Merlin against his side, his arm tight and protective around his shoulders.
I’m not going to specifically ask for more prompts this time, because I do have a couple more in my ask box to finish before the end of the month, but if there is one on the list you really want to see then I, of course, won’t turn it away if it happens to appear in my ask box! 😁

Alright so AU where Geralt doesn’t realise he’s been given a decoy Ciri
Perhaps Geralt goes to fetch Roach, maybe someone stops him to mention the ballads they’ve heard or some guard decides to question why he’s there, either way, he doesn’t notice the hidden passage in the palace, and therefore, not half an hour later, leaves Cintra not with Ciri sat scared under a cloak on his horse, but this girl:
In my head I’ve taken to calling her Alice, so that’s her name now.
Full name: Alice Cavannah of Cintra
Calanthe needs a child who can pass as Pavetta’s daughter, and it just so happens that currently staying in the palace for the banquet set to take place that night is a nobleman and his family - in particular, a nobleman who is on the wrong side of Calanthe’s temper, has been trying to redeem himself for years and gain a better position in court, and has a daughter roughly Ciri’s age.
For her parents, the decision wasn’t hard, mainly because her Father, who she is almost completely distant to, declared that she would go. In comparison, Alice is far closer to her Mother, but that doesn’t stop anything as her Mother goes along with whatever her husband says, merely absently nodding her consent as if being asked if she would like fish for dinner.
Alice also has an older brother, one who would be knighted not a few hours later (the knighting scene in episode one), and sending off their daughter in place of Ciri and having a son knighted in Cintra firmly puts their family name in Calanthe’s good books, much to their delight.
It also helps that Alice had a similar schooling to Ciri, and knows of the local nobles, lords, and ladies. If they tried to play off a peasant girl, their ploy would be blown within minutes.
“You’ll be back soon, I’m sure.” Calanthe promises breezily as she digs through Ciri’s wardrobe to find a dress for her to wear, to give her a more princess-like appearance. “Once all this nonsense with Nilfgaard has blown over, the Witcher will bring you right back.”
“Yes, your majesty.” Alice whispered, squeezing her hands together tightly to try and save off crying.
She’s told to quickly says her goodbyes, and then gets a cloak dumped over her head to avoid prying eyes who could call out the fraud. The Witcher, who she is told is named Geralt of Rivia, the Butcher of Blaviken, helps her onto a horse, and slowly they leave the city, Alice glancing back to see if her parents are watching. They’re not.
Her brother is, though. He waves at her from a window. She hesitantly waves back.
So, they head out, a tense silence between them. Alice is scared stiff, mainly because she’s never heard much about Witchers, being in Cintra most of her life. She knows Calanthe hates them, and doesn’t entrust this Witcher to look after her granddaughter, so tries to be as quiet as possible, less she angers the man with two very sharp-looking swords.
Alice is also terrified that Geralt is going to figure out that she isn’t Ciri, and, not being a princess, will be killed for it. Her parents are unlikely to avenge her death (gods, her death might even be good for them - sacrificing their only daughter in the name of the Queen is sure to get them higher titles), so it wouldn’t matter if he did.
She spends the time nibbling her lip, a habit her Mother is always scolding her for, and praying to any God willing to listen to the thoughts in her head that she sees this out alive.
Geralt, meanwhile, is having a Panic™
What do you say to a princess? How does Ciri expect to be treated? Will she mind camping, or will he have to get inn rooms every night? Does he have enough coin for that? They gave him a bag of her belongings, does she have a bedroll, blankets, more suitable clothes for travel, better shoes? Is it rude to ask?
The only other princesses he’s ever met either stabbed him in the gut or tried to eat his organs. Ciri probably won’t do that. He hopes. Then again, if she’s Calanthe’s blood, maybe he’ll be dead by morning.
Should he take her to Kaer Morhen? Or will the Nilfgaardian threat blow over before they get there? Is it better for them to head to the Blue Mountains or should they just hide out in the forests somewhere and wait and see?
Whatever he decides, the one thing he does know for sure is that this girl is completely petrified.
“It will be okay, Princess.” Geralt says roughly, as awkward as anything. “No harm is going to come to you.”
Her eyes are huge as she stammers, “T-Thank you, Witcher.”
“Call me Geralt.”
She flinches, squeaking, “Thank you, Geralt.”
Fuck, Geralt thinks.
They don’t come to any inns as dusk begins to fall, so Geralt tries to find the cleanest spot he can among the trees for them to make camp. He helps her down, and she shies away from his offered hand as if expecting to be hit before eventually taking it, and then sets about making camp.
Turns out, the palace didn’t think to give her anything practical, surprising for the granddaughter of the Lioness. The bag is mostly dresses, shoes only suitable for palace floors, and a hairbrush and a few toiletries.
He goes to swear, and then reminds himself not in front of the Princess.
“We might have to get you some new clothes.” He says, and she jumps at the sound. “We want to hide from Nilfgaard and anyone else who may try and find you. That will be easier if you dress plainly.”
What Geralt expects, he doesn’t know, a bit of a tantrum, perhaps? Something about how a lady of her status can’t go around in cheap fabrics like a commoner? Tears?
He doesn’t expect the girl to bite her lip, nod, and then hunch her shoulders around herself, trying to look as small as possible, swamped in her cloak and eyes to the floor.
The night is spent almost entirely silent. He goes out and hunts, gutting and skinning the hares away from camp so he doesn’t spook her, and then cooks a pretty bland stew that the Princess seems to force down out of politeness than a real hunger. He then gives her his bedroll, something she’s hesitant to do until he reassures her that he can go without sleeping, and meditates most of the night, listening for threats and the sound of her breathing.
She cries at one point, trying to stifle her sniffles in her hands.
Over the next two days they move fast and far, not talking to anyone and putting as much distance between Cintra and them as possible. Slowly, as if she realises that Geralt is not going to eat her alive, the Princess begins to relax. That doesn’t exactly make her chatty by any means, or any less stiff and jumpy, but in their brief, stilted conversations, she seems less worried that he will bite her face off. A small improvement, but an improvement nonetheless.
Surprisingly, it’s Roach that brings them together.
Ciri takes to the mare straight away, and voluntary begins brushing her down each night, muttering soft things that she thinks Geralt can’t hear into the horse’s ears.
“She doesn’t tolerate most people.” He says as he builds a fire, pausing to observe them.
The Princess ducks her head. “O-Oh.”
“It means she likes you.”
“Oh!” For a split second, her face brightens, and she spins on her heel to gently pet Roach’s nose. “I like her too. What’s her name?”
“Roach.”
The Princess turns towards him, her face not quite disgruntled, but showing more emotion than she has so far. “Like the fish?”
“Hm.” Geralt nods.
“Why did you name your horse after a fish?”
“My brother named his horse Scorpion.”
“Is it...A Witcher thing?”
“Not reall-” Geralt stops, thinking about it. “Actually, I suppose it is.”
The Princess turns before he can see her expression, but he thinks she may be giggling. A lump forms in his throat, and he swallows it down.
Meanwhile, with Alice, she can’t decide if this is fun (she gets to explore the countryside, see other places, have a horse, camp, get dirty) or most frightening thing she’s ever done (she’s pretending to be the Princess of Cintra, if she messes up, the Lioness with solely blame her, not to mention punish her family. There’s so much on her shoulders that at random moments all she wants to do is weep)
Geralt doesn’t seem as frightening as he first appeared, and he’s actually been really nice, not asking complicated questions she doesn’t know the answer to (does he already know about Cirilla’s life? Her favourite foods? Her favourite song? She doesn’t, and dreads saying something that could contradict what he already knows) and keeping his distance.
He also named his horse after a fish.
On the morning of the second day, they camp outside a town, Geralt wanting to wait until most of the main morning traffic has passed before entering. To pass the time, she carefully twists braids into Roach’s mane (who preens under the attention), watching out the corner of her eye as Geralt goes over sword practice.
In a brief moment of boldness, Alice asks, “Is it...Hard, to use a sword like that?”
Geralt pauses, glancing towards her. “In a way, like most skills it becomes easier over time.”
“My-” Alice nearly outs herself by saying brother, quickly redirecting, “Grandmother uses a lot of swords.”
“Yes. Did she ever teach you?”
Oh Gods!
“My...My Mother didn’t let me. Said it’d make me brutish.” The news of Pavetta’s death was widespread, when it happened. She can recall her parents talking about it for years afterwards. “When she died, my Grandmother kept her wish.”
Geralt’s expression does several different things, and the longer the bout of silence draws on the closer Alice finds herself huddling against Roach, as if asking the horse to hold her up.
Stupid! She chastises mentally. That’s the Lioness! Of course she taught Ciri! And you just insulted her daughter! Wait until the Queen finds out about that!
Finally, Geralt grunts, something he seems to do regularly, before easing his stance, relaxing his shoulders. “Would you...Like to learn?”
Alice blinks.”M-Me?”
“Being able to defend yourself is one of the most important skills you can have, and I’m sure your Mother would prefer you alive and wielding a blade than dead and weaponless.”
The Lioness is going to be fuming by the time she gets back.
Still, somehow, Alice finds herself nodding , and Geralt hums, putting down his sword and pulling out a smaller dagger. “Come here.”
She does, and he places the dagger into her hand, adjusting her grip and inching her fingers into the correct positions. It’s heavy, surprisingly so, and Geralt carefully puts his hand around her wrist.
“Ideally we’d do this with one made of wood, but I only have this, so we won’t do much just to be safe, but I can show you how to hold a blade, and how to use it in a pinch.”
“Okay.”
“It’s not a toy.” He says sternly, meeting her eyes. “Don’t swing it wildly, don’t touch the edge, and when in doubt, drop it and step back, understand?”
“I do.”
He hums again, pleased, and then carefully starts the lesson.
Alice, surprisingly, finds herself enjoying it. She can see what her brother saw in it when he was younger and still in training. There’s something about learning the different stances, the hand positions, the control, that feels good, right, almost like the beginnings of a new hobby.
Her favourite hobby is still needlework, though. Alice adores a night by the fireplace carefully stitching away.
They keep on going until lunch, which is when they stop to eat (a little to her disappointment), and then head into town, Geralt dropping a handful of coins into her palm and pointing out a shop.
“Go buy yourself a few set of clothes, ones good enough for a winter outside. Don’t go with fashions, go with practicality. I’ll be outside.”
“Okay, I understand.”
The fabrics on offer are cheap, bland, and all variations of dim green or brown, however, with a little help from the shopkeeper, Alice is able to find some items which work. She switches into one of her new purchases, pulling on a new pair of boots, before heading back outside.
She keeps the dress she’d been wearing, though. It belongs to a Princess, and the Queen may be angry if she loses it. Alice gently tucks it into her bag.
“Good.” Geralt nods his approval and Alice finds herself smiling shyly, before they turn to leave.
It is as they walk away, following the road northwards, that they catch wind of a conversation by another set of travelers passing by, on their way south.
For a split second, Alice freezes, before whipping around so fast that her head spins dizzy. Her eyes follow them, and her vision mists with fear-struck tears as her jaw drops low in horror.
Beside her, Geralt goes as still as a statue, his skin pale.
Cinta has fallen.

I finished book one of Mistborn and please do not comment on how I, a “slow reader”, devoured nearly 700 pages in two weeks, let’s keep the focus out of that for now.
And since nobody asked for this, a few thoughts:
- I have concluded that, considering Allomancy works while metals are in the digestive system, a mistborn’s greatest enemy is explosive diarrhoea. With the power of one brigadeiro cake and some laxatives, I would have kicked Kelsier’s ass alone. Allomancers would collectively die on Christmas night here in Portugal
- One of the final twists was very obvious to me, and I do not say this in a deprecating way. Actually, quite the opposite. Sanderson was pretty fucking subtle in the language, but once a certain character clapped his boots together and fucked off into the afterlife, I pretty much caught onto it. Fucking well done, my guy.
- “I’ll tell Mare about you. She always wanted a daughter.” Thanks, just come into my living room, kick the shit out of me, rip my heart out of my chest, burn it in front of my eyes and throw me off a building while you’re at it. Being a pile of snot and tears wasn’t enough, was it?
- I swear to god, Mr Sanderson, if I read another “however,” I’ll fucking SNAP
- STOP PUTTING SO MANY COMMAS NEXT TO “BUT” it is so distracting, I felt asthmatic reading it.
- I have a new english word I absolutely despise and it’s “maladroitly”. What the fuck is that convoluted twist of the tongue that IS SUPPOSED TO SOUND FRENCH BUT DOESN’T.
- Kelsier is a pretty cool chap, but bold of you to assume I’d give a crap about his ass kicking skills when Vin’s right there saving the ass of a dumbass nobleman philosophising his way out of trouble like. Then again, I love a character who’s a goddamn bastard, proud of himself, cocky in everything, and fucking good at what he does. If you’re going to give me a nearly all-male cast, do it like that. I can promise you Mistborn will likely be the only saga with just one female protagonist you won’t hear me badmouth.
- How the crap do you pronounce “Sazed”? Cause Sah-zed sounds appropriate to me, but the “Saze” nickname threw me off
- This book literally hurt my hand from holding it while I smoked at the window. This should be a felony.
- This was a rare case of “yep, everyone actually sounds their age”. Like, I did not forget for one second that Vin is 16/17.
- This is... more of a personal taste thing. But I hate continuous thoughts highlighting the obvious. Just swarms of sentences written in italic stating things you already know, but clearly put there to string the thought process together. I generally just hate chunks of italics in a sentence and random thoughts popping up in the text, but really, that’s my thing (Leigh Bardugo pissed me off equally with this).
- Mr Sanderson is going to be the one to cure my bilingual portuguese malady of mixing up Push and Pull. Goddamn, that was like Exposure Therapy for me.
- I’ll let you guys in on a secret. I had no fucking clue what this book was about. Nothing. Just vaguely aware that it was “fantasy”, nothing more. I thought it was high fantasy. I was ready to actually NOT like it, expecting elves and shit to start popping up. I just took on advice to read it bc people were so passionate about it, and that was all I cared. I went head first just to fucking get out of the usual genres I read. I was VERY pleasantly surprised. I am pretty icky about fantasy, I don’t like high fantasy, I tend to despise stories about elves being oppressed and mythological racism, and was NOT expecting a story about a mad political heist, more on the urban fantasy level, with an actual concise and pretty logical magical system (WHERE THE WORD MAGIC IS SELDOM USED, THANKS) and more of political squabble between different power structures than just wizards and elves going swoosh swoosh pew pew magical beams out of my ass, overpowered arms and Special One shitting on ye peasants. I think I found my sub-genre of fantasy after running away from it for years.
- I do not---DO NOT---give a crap about pairings and shipping. I can think of 2 cases that made me care about two characters ending together, one actually pretty recent. Well, add a third one, cause I was ready to set my house on fire if fucking Vin hadn’t gone back to her dumbass noble in that last paragraph.
- On a final note, I blame you for this, @dilact

Façade
Rating: Mature
Fandom: Fire Emblem Awakening
Characters: M!Robin, Chrom, Nowi
Pairing: Chrom/M!Robin
Summary: Robin is neither as amicable as he appears, nor is he actually someone worth trusting.
Notes: Written 2 months ago and I don’t care too much for it. But it does nothing sitting in my hard drive.
There’s a rot in his brain and fire, brimstone cold, in his veins. These are the only two facts that he’s entirely certain of when he wakes to a stranger’s hand on his own, hoisting him up, and to unfamiliar kindness.
He nods when necessary, lets the other man speak, notes the suspicion present and unhidden on the face of the man’s companion, and he thinks. Robin understands of course. Doubt has always been one of the cornerstones of survival, a long-held and inherent part of any creature, for man or beast or anything beyond such categorization.
Of course, they, decay and fire, are both unsuitable substitutes for memories, for kindness and living, but doubt and falsity are not.
And thus, he makes his decision then, of who he would be and of what his place should be.
There’s not much else he can do after all.
But Robin makes do with what he has, and he continues, all fictitious smiles and half-truths abound.
And the rot spreads, digging its roots further into his very being, unthinking and blue dark.
---
It’s unsurprising that the other Shepherds come to him.
Since his inception into their midst, he’s always been kind, amicable to an almost nauseating degree. He learns from them, puts on a painted face, like a nobleman at a masquerade, and he soothes their troubles.
He doesn’t complain. He only molds himself to fit their expectations of what he should be, and what he himself thinks he should be.
It’s not very pleasant, to hide and subdue one’s self like a mindless beast, but Robin makes do as life demands.
He calculates and observes, adding on bits here and there to himself like patchwork.
As more come into their midst, laced together by war and tribulation and collected like unwanted chess pieces, he stretches himself further, hides within himself and behind a multitude of words and actions.
It’s a funeral shroud for him, dyed with pretenses and decaying purple
---.
In the dim glow of the bedchambers, he lets the prince clumsily undo the buttons of his coat, lets the prince’s apologies about his inexperience wash off of him like water on canvas, and kisses him like a lover should.
He knows his actions are abhorrent, more akin to a selfish whore or beast than human.
But, he doesn’t care much for the morality of it. That was for people who had the time, the opportunity and foolishness to.
He doesn’t pay much attention to his partner outside of the necessities of intercourse, a soft word of encouragement here and there and sweet traces of affectionate touch.
It is as it is, a necessity for a continued, guaranteed, and protected existence, and he distracts himself with the green of the sheets during their acts.
He doesn't say anything when the prince laces their hands together afterwards. It's not his place.
---
The orange hue of dawn was a comfort for him as it was for many of his companions.
That was a bit of truth that he shared with them, untwisted by his own thoughts and needs.
It was a reminder of living, of the fact that they had made it another day.
---
He doesn’t like Nowi, doesn’t like how she looks at him.
It’s not the liveliness that he minds, or even the childishness of her daily performances.
It’s how she sees him. He doesn’t see the same veil, the same ignorance in her eyes as the rest of their companions.
No matter his actions, how he twists and bends himself for her, she never falters, fallen for his deception.
Unlike a majority of their companions, she holds the advantage of age, of wisdom gained through time. Unlike them, she has seen many men like him, peasant and nobility alike, self-preserving yet dying and uncaring of lies.
Furthermore, she wasn’t blinded by love like their commander, or by projected memories of old friends like her elder.
Rather, she saw him as he was and who he would be, a ghost of a person who only existed in others’ memories, in what they saw and interpreted.
He sees pity, and he dislikes it, abhors it like the violet of her mantle.
Most importantly, he dislikes how she never confronts him, never speaks of his hollowness.
---
The white of Yen’fay’s hair is speckled with blood, and it is repugnant to him, repulsive in its implication and a reminder of death.
Dying in battle, in defense of another was not a foreign concept to him, but it was an unthinkable and incomprehensible one.
Why would another’s life be equal to his in the exchange between life and death?
He doesn’t understand the reasoning, and he does not, should not, care to understand.
Where Say’ri found sorrow, he found resolve.
---
The words, more cacophony than pellucid, he hears from Grima are ones unheard by and unspoken to his companions. Perhaps it was a side effect of their connection, but Robin doesn’t think too much on it. That would be unnecessary, a waste of energy to contemplate, especially considering his current situation.
He hears the dragon’s words, over the prince’s shouts and those of his companions.
Let him plunge the blade.
Save yourself.
Choose yourself over them.
The words continue unbidden, lacking any hint of fear, as if sure of his choice. Though, he supposes, confidence was expected if one were dealing with a being with similar motivations.
It was a bit disgusting how similar they were, but Robin doesn’t care much.
After all, he’s already made his choice since his awakening.
He submits, and the rot blooms, camellia red and dahlia black.
They were always one and the same.
#fire emblem#going by the Ao3 rating system#I wanted to tag T but technically there's hinted stuff in there

Quentin's Full Backstory [SFW vers]/ Role in Twisted Wonderland's Main Story
Here's a SFW version of Quentin's backstory for those who want/need it. I tried my best to change the sensitive topics so it's not very present and it's just implication and not actually stated. I can't get rid of it because it is pretty important to who she is as a person.
Backstory [ NSFW vers. ] [Short and Basic vers.]
Childhood: Quentin was born the last child of the Desmona family, the 11th line of the Andalasian noble houses with an older brother ten years older than her named Rasul Desmona and an older sister fourteen years older than her named Faustina Desmona. From what Quentin remembers, she didn't really leave her house much at her family's requests, she also remembers feeling distant from her parents and her older sister with Rasul was the only true connection she felt she had within her family. As she somewhat understood her mother was unstable and very busy and her father wasn't always there for her and Faustina seemed to care very little for her. Quentin also remembers meeting and playing with her upper class friends and peers all the time which still she fondly remembers. She also says when she was little she was very idealistic and lots of people praised her for her intellect for a girl her age, which she would often use mischievously. When Quentin was four, Faustina ran off with her husband Oberyn and left a note telling her family she was leaving her royal life for her husband, who was almost yandere for Faustina from what Quentin remembers of when she actually saw him. The declaration of Faustina's resignation from the family immediately affected the Desmona family as Quentin's father suddenly spent little to no time with the family anymore choosing to instead hide in books, her mother became unstable Quentin and Rasul had to be taken from her custody by Quentin's best friend, a princess named Andromeda, who was really upset that Quentin was now easy to scare and was not as available to play with after school and then discovered why when Quentin got scared so badly by one of her teachers she had to go to a royal doctor to calm her down and the doctor figured out why. While Quentin doesn't remember much about her time in royal custody, Andromeda says Quentin and her and their families played and partied a lot together most of the time she was there with lots of things a child her age shouldn’t know about to help the Desmona children forget. Andromeda also states she and Quentin even shared a room together for the whole time Quentin was in the palace. And Quentin, despite being in therapy because the upper class families feared Mr. and Mrs. Desmona were physically abusing her and Rasul and was enforcing everyone treat Quentin very kindly, was mostly alright after a few days of resting and playing with her friends and really just needed to be away from her mother's bad influence, especially compared to her brother, who actually needed therapy. During her temporary stay at the royal place, Quentin met most of the royal family which she became close with, namely Azazel, Andromeda's twin brother. Quentin and Andromeda also made a promise to stay together, which only Andromeda really remembers. After about a few weeks, word got out to the whole country that Faustina had abandoned them and Mr. and Mrs. Desmona were killed with their children's knowledge because of the peasantry demanding blood for Faustina's departure. At the time, the royal family had planned to have the two hidden within the palace because the two were innocent of Faustina's crime and still in the process of healing. While Mr and Mrs. Desmona were not since the did nothing to stop Faustina's bad relationship. A month after the two children were released from royal custody and learning to run a house without their parents with some help from other houses because of how young the two were (as they were now five and fifteen and told their parents where in a longer therapy than them.) a servant, without permission, told the two that her parents where actually dead. And, once the two actually realized it was true after being shown evidence, sent Rasul into a spiral of bad episodes centered around Quentin and got Quentin into beginning stage of her harming tendencies, which the two was able to be pulled out of but really couldn't fix it because they had gotten to the children far too late. But, instead the noble houses distracted them by getting them to run a noble house via a bunch a fancy parties with liquid courage. Which, while it did stress the two Desmona siblings out majorly and the two basically had to scramble to get their noble house together, it worked out by some miracle and eventually things settled down to where everything was seemly back to normal, despite Rasul's creepy behaviors towards Quentin and Quentin being more depressed than she used to be. For a few years, the Desmona siblings worked hard to maintain their noble house and balancing their school lives as well, which gave the two lots of useful skills and gained the house a reputation for being a hardworking and intelligent house to be born into.
Teenage Years: Until when Quentin was thirteen, she found her brother dead next to her in her bed when she woke up from a nap and she herself felt really, really dizzy and felt terrible. She managed to call someone from help before she passed out, and when she woke up, she woke up exactly a week later and the royal doctors and nurses said her older brother Rasul he had killed died by a poisonous potion because, despite how much he loved Quentin, he couldn't take the pressures of being an Andalasian nobleman after all the hard work he had put in and he tried to kill Quentin with the same potion because he thought Quentin was the only person in all of Andalasia that mattered but the note he left behind didn't give an exact reason why he drank the potion and tried to kill Quentin as well, as the note was him ranting about how hard it was to be a noble with peasants that control his life and how his life sucked after his parents were killed and his older sister left him and how hard him and Quentin had worked and how much he loved Quentin, which showed Rasul had an obsession towards Quentin. Which on top of all the information she had just learned, really depressed Quentin because of how much she loved Rasul, then felt she didn't know what to do with her life anymore now that she basically had nothing. And those thoughts spun wildly out of control quickly bringing back her harming tendencies even worse than before and brought out really depressing thoughts, even making her physically sick too sick to do anything for a week, until Quentin's body shut down from all the stress and sadness Quentin had for two days. Which only added to the amount of time she was in the royal hospital for and after she passed out for two days was she able to get herself under control, as her friends would often visit her while she was asleep and she heard them cry so hard to see she was so stressed and not screaming she didn't want to be alive anymore. Which reaction really hit Quentin that she wasn't alone, and how took her a long time to realize. Which was almost a year. And, Quentin really did try to heal from a near year of bad state by trying her best to get herself together without the use of therapy and trying her best to visit with her friends and peers, mostly notably Azazel, Eadwine and Amiel, as she said they had the most impact on her. And, she got better. A lot better than she used to be. She learned lots of ways to combat her self-destructive behaviors, which she still uses. And, when Quentin got out of the royal hospital she worked really hard to get her noble house back on its feet. Which really helped her learn things about herself and life in general, making her a better person. She also got a position in the royal house as a librarian and diplomat for the royal house and the Republic of Andalasian Peoples, for her hard work in self-improvement. Quentin worked hard to try and establish some sort of relationship between the two groups which did work out. After a few months of a not-so-heavy workload, Quentin recieved marriage proposals from almost every house due to her skills and hard work, which Quentin got nervous about because she wasn't sure if she wanted to commit to anybody yet, until she spoke with Amiel and told him she wasn't sure what to do. And Amiel said to marry him, Eadwine and Azazel, because they where the closest to her, the foursome needed each other a lot with how much they've came to know each other and they are all in a similar boat, and Quentin agreed to it. And after months of awkward dates, the group had finally proposed to each other, and then after a lot of setbacks that took the group hugely off guard, which was mostly other weddings, parties and schoolwork, their wedding day was held when the group was fifteen and the four agreed to make a new house, the 14th house, named Nighy-Sallow. Which worked well for the foursome as each was very skilled, had a decent reputation and was decently wealthy to boot, so they could take care of themselves well. Quentin lived a mostly decent life with her spouses for a year until she found a letter from Night Raven College about her brother's application to the school was accepted, and the school needed Rasul confirmation that he could attend. Which Quentin wasn't sure how to take at first because she was very confused as how the hell did this letter got to her older brother without the royalty knowing, along with a flurry of other emotions Quentin didn't understand or really process at the time. But, Quentin wrote a letter back, confirming that she was attending Night Raven College instead of her brother stating her brother died of tuberculosis and then sent it as secretly as she could to NRC, who accepted her letter thinking Quentin was Rasul's younger brother. And, when she received her acceptance letter into Night Raven College, she was very conflicted as to what to do then. As, she had a month before the new school year started and she now had a choice. She could, by some miracle, dual enroll into NRC and the school was already enrolled in, which she then realized was impossible because NRC had dorms, she could run away from Andalasia (which she later found in her brother's diary was what he was planning to do) or ask to go to NRC. And after a few days of thinking, she went to Andromeda and told her the situation she was in. And, Andromeda surprisingly agreed to let her go to Night Raven College. Saying, sooner or later the country needed to see the world again, and who better to do so than one of the smartest people in the kingdom? And then after some careful negotiations with the royal family and RAP that involved lots of non-disclosure agreements, and lots of convincing from her spouses that would be okay without and her would actually be okay at NRC, Quentin was released from Andalasian grip and allowed to go to NRC under the conditions she was doing it for diplomatic reasons.
Quentin's First Year at Night Raven College: Quentin was honestly somewhat confused to be brought to NRC in a coffin and changed out of the semi-fancy unisex clothes she was wearing into the school's robes, but she took it in stride as it was her first time outside her country, thinking it maybe normal for schools to have this strange gimmick. And, when Quentin got to Night Raven College's campus, it surprised her how big and complicated the school looked on the outside, but quickly realized it was very emo looking on the inside. Quentin also encountered a lot of people saying her hair down made her look like a girl and how she's probably going to be sorted into Pomefiore with those looks she has. Which, she waved off. At the entrance ceremony, Quentin met Agat and Dorji whom she was sitting next to and talked with Agat a bit about Night Raven College, getting the basics of: this was a prestigious school for magicians before Agat went to be sorted into Diasomnia. Which information Quentin did not know at all before coming other school because she came from a lock-downed country. When Quentin was to be sorted, the mirror stated the shape of her soul belonged to no dorm but Ramshackle dorm after a few minutes of looking at her in silence. Which, even the teachers seemed to be surprised about since Ramshackle dorm had been abandoned for a while at that point. Quentin simply shrugged off the teachers and the dorm leaders asking her questions about if she would be okay being by herself because they had not planned for someone to be sorted into Ramshackle at all. Quentin said that the choice cannot be changed now, as the mirror made a decision and if it meant she wasn't in a common dorm, than so be it because the mirror's choice supposed to be for his benefit, so he'd deal with it. And, the teachers actually seemed to like Quentin's response and for the rest of the ceremony told her to stay close to them, and they would talk to her after the ceremony was done. And once the ceremony was done Quentin was told by the headmaster, Dire Crowley, that she was the first person to be in Ramshackle dorm in a long time, so her dorm would be a mess and she had a lot of work ahead of her on top of schoolwork, so he asked if she would need any help or accommodations. Quentin said something like, "I came to this school to learn what I can about magic and if the mirror says I have to work harder than everyone else to get it, then I'll do it. I'll work just as hard as everyone else here." Which surprised the staff greatly and then said if that really was how she saw it, then she's going to get what she asked. She was directed to her new dorm and was able to get into the good graces of the ghosts living there with only one magical fight and after an explanation who she was, saying that she was a boy not a girl to blend in with the male population. When the school year actually started, Quentin was sorted into class 1-D as student number 10 and Quentin found her schoolwork to be. . .easy. Really easy. Which made her feel like her like her time at Night Raven College was really not worth it because for the first few weeks, as she really was having little to no difficulty at all with her classes. And, most people caught unto it, not only because most of the teachers praised her a lot for her intellect but also because she didn't seem to be cheating in any way, either. Which, actually got her into somewhat of trouble because lots of people thought she was cheating. (Because how do you get great PE and Alchemy grades without some sort of cheating?! Those teachers rig the class against you!) Which Quentin really did not want to deal with trouble over grades because she needed study as much as she could about Twisted Wonderland and how to be a boy, so Quentin toned down her grades to be much lower so she was barely passing as an honor student much to most of the teachers' dismay. And, she did explain her reasoning to her teachers saying she really didn't have the time for honor student pricks and greedy jerks to bully with her, as she had a dorm to get back into shape. And, most of the teachers agreed with that logic. Except Crewel and Vargas whom she agreed to help out to placate them. And for about half a month, she had peace for the first time since she entered Night Raven College and she decided to use that time to rebuild her dorm building and really study the world outside Andalasia, which she now had a good grasp on Twisted Wonderland and its' countries. And a week after she finished rebuilding Ramshackle dorm proper, she started getting invited to dorm leader meetings by fellow dorm leaders. Which, at first she was suspicious about since Ramshackle's only reputation was their only member was barely an honor student. But she soon realized the reason for her being at the meetings when the leaders dumped work they didn't want to do on her, which really pissed her off but decided to live with because she really had no problems with schoolwork. And than the staff, most notably Crowley started calling favors from Quentin as well. Which made her even more angry, as she realized she was now basically the school leaders' gopher. Which at first was not too much of a problem for Quentin until the school leaders started to take her service for granted and treated her like a dumb first year. Which, really, really pissed her off and at first, but Quentin just didn't deal with the problem and ignored it until she snapped at her dorm's ghosts and broke down crying saying the school was too hard for her. And, the ghosts confronted her about her issue, and asked why he put up with the crap she gets from other dorm leaders and why a person like him put up with their garbage. And, Quentin realized that she really didn't deserve this treatment at all because of what her brother had to sacrifice to get her here and she needed to stand up for herself. And, after lots of help from the ghosts, she stood up to the staff and dorm leaders for using her as a gopher and not appreciating her work for it, and called the dorm leaders and staff out about a lot of unsavory things they have asked her to do despite the fact they can do it themselves which took most of the leaders aback, as Quentin had done a complete 180 from her usual happy to do anything self she usually put on in front of them. And, after a few weeks of Quentin doing nothing to help, the rest of the staff and dorm leaders realized she was serious, and agreed to give her more say in school activities and be less of a gopher and get more respect, which Quenin was very happy about. During her time in class 1-D, she got somewhat close with Malleus Draconia, whom she was often paired with on group assignments and projects. Quentin didn't get to know Mallues not that much, but close enough that most people associated her with Malleus. And by association, Lilia Vanrouge. With which over the course of the school year Quentin became well acquainted with, which made her a unprompted reputation for being pretty powerful despite not showing it. Quentin also encountered Dorji at one of his worst moments and took him into Ramshackle dorm, and much later became friends with him. And later than that, she met Agat again and became friends with him, and other than starting to make relationships with the other first years, and then the school year ended pretty quickly for Quentin and she had to go back to Andalasia.
The Months Inbetween Quentin's First and Second Years: When Quentin came back from her school year, she was considered actually pretty late coming home due to Night Raven College and her original school's schedule were very different, (Night Raven took a lot more time to 'goof off' her peers say than her original high school did.) But, Quentin was still welcomed home very warmly because of how much her peers and spouses had missed her, despite her visiting on her vacations or calling or writing letters to her spouses and friends when she could. Quentin also gave her spouses pets, because she felt they needed someone to take care for them while she was gone and her notes and calls were definitely not cutting it for them, so Quentin gifted Amiel a Malamute puppy which he later named Agapi, Eadwine a Tabby cat which she later named Aziz, and Azazel a somewhat-expensive Dutch bunny which he later named Chaviv. Which the three spouses of Quentin really appreciated since it wasn't hard to figure out why Quentin got them pets, and why she was working hard to get the pets comfortable and feeling like they are a part of family. So, the three spouses got her a Persian short hair and American Bobtail cross breed which Quentin later named Carwyn that the family rained as a messenger cat, which took most of the winter break and into the school year to do. Quentin also faced a lot of criticism from the Republic of Andalasian Peoples due to her long disappearance from Andalasian spotlight, which she somehow managed to control until she left for Night Raven College for her second year.
Quentin's Second Year at Night Raven College: At the entrance ceremony, Quentin would be lying if she didn't say she'd hoped for a dorm mate with all the work she'd put in to make her dorm official, and that year she really had everything ready for another member to join. But, at about third of way into the ceremony Quentin figured she wasn't going to get any dorm mates. Which upset her a little and she left the ceremony unnoticed and got herself some expensive sweets from Sam's shop, whose shop was surprisingly open and Sam said he wasn't attending the ceremony this year due to some problems with his friends from the other side. And, the two hung out for the rest of the ceremony eating sweets and giving advice from their personal experience with ghosts. Which Quentin thought was really fun, and she says he'd be cool with hanging out with Sam again around entrance ceremony time as she says he's her favorite staff member at NRC. When the school year finally started, Quentin's school days weren't really eventful for the first month. Until she was visited at her dorm by Malleus and Lilia, who introduced her to Silver and asked her to make them dinner which she begrudgingly did after Lilia's insistence. And once Quentin made dinner, Lilia told her Silver was new to being around other humans, and asked to help him out. Which she agreed to after a quick laugh saying, "I know you two are Fae, but the way you two talk about the subject is like it's a major thing. But being human is probably something Silver already sort of knows what it means." Which really confused Malleus and got Lilia to get philosophical with her. Which, actually got to be a really interesting conversation as the group learned a lot about Quentin just by asking her a few questions. And a couple days later, Quentin met Masawa during a combined class and said something Masawa really needed to hear then, and then Quentin met Adahy and Ruggie while working with the Savanaclaw dorm leader at the time. And, Quentin later became friends with Masawa and Adahy and making a decent relationship with Ruggie. She also met most of major second years and fellow third years and gained a decent standing with them. Namely Kalim and Jamil and the Leech twins. As the teachers often asked her to help Jamil out (whom she quickly figured out was much smarter than he seemed) and got Kalim out of trouble with some Savanaclaw students teasing him once in a while and with Jamil not being into much of a place to help being a first year while holding back while trying to be diplomatic. Quentin also managed to stop Floyd in a really bad mood by at first stopping a physical fight between him and another student, and then fighting with him which was a battle she somehow managed to beat Floyd. Which earned her the nickname Floyd calls her, 'Stingray' after he also found out she was also a dorm leader. Besides those events happening nothing much happen to Quentin Nighy-Sallow during her second year. Until about halfway through the school year, in the middle of one of her classes she was called out by Crowley, demanding that he needed to visit the headmaster's office and urgently. When Quentin got to the office, Crowley and the other dorm leaders had gathered together for an emergency meeting because of a group of people with a carriage claiming to be Andalasian royalty came to the front gate, and demanded for Quentin Nighy-Sallow to come with them at once. And the dorm leaders questioned Quentin and what she knew about the situation, and she told them he honestly didn't what was happening and maybe he could figure out what is going on if she could speak with the group. After getting Crowley's permission, Quentin went down with the other dorm leaders to ask the people outside the gates what they wanted, and when the group got there they were was comforted with Andromeda, Azazel, Eadwine and Amiel plus a few palace guards saying Quentin needed to come back to Andalasia because the political turmoil was becoming too much without her help. And, without a word, the other dorm leaders simply told Quentin to go, because it didn't seem like a joke and she can deal with the paper work later. So, Quentin went off with the carriage to Andalasia, which took about a week to get to on horse. And in which time she realized something was definitely wrong with how Andromeda, Azazel, Eadwine and Amiel were acting and talking to her. And then she figured it out when the carriage was just outside the city and entered into it. . .only for the carriage to be busted open and Quentin to be pushed out of the carriage and into the street and then the carriage quickly ran off. While Quentin was in shock and trying to process what had happened, she was grabbed by a mob of peasants who were mocking her and calling her a slew of curse words in Andalasian and brought her to a guillotine and quickly a member of RAP gave a speech to the people that Quentin was a traitor to Andalasia and even the royalty agreed, as they handed her over to them to be killed, hyping up the crowd and even kicking Quentin's face a few times and calling her a sellout and just like her family: cowardly and shameless. Which caused Quentin's mind to almost break as she kept telling herself to hold her head high and show no fear to those who don't care, but her emotions were in a flurry of anger and hurt and disappointed for being betrayed when her life was going pretty well. And then Quentin's body let a few tears escaped her eyes, she claims the world froze and heard a voice speak to her. A voice that asked her why she was holding back after everything that had just happened to her, and she replied there is no point because she was going to die here. The voice said Quentin wasn't dead yet, and that she could still break out and leave, but Quentin simply shook her head and said she didn't care anymore. Everybody she once had was gone, and she's given up on fixing it because she really didn't want to live, since most of the people she cares about are already dead and her time at Night Raven College doesn't matter. And then Quentin says infront of her materialized a copy of herself made of ink and in the voice she was talking to said, "So, you've lost everything you've ever had and can't bring yourself to express your feelings? Fine then. I'll do it for you." And Quentin says her world suddenly became black and she felt only her emotions and nothing else. But according to the people present there and a camera recording her, a darkness engulfed the area and Quentin was broken out of the guillotine with a powerful ink-like spell and a person looking exactly like Quentin appeared in front of a fearful and panicking Quentin and laughed manically yelling to the people, "So I'm a monster to you? A cowardly traitor and sellout? Fine then! I'll be the worst monster Andalasia has seen! Because none in Andalasia deserves mercy!" And proceeded to destroy the area within endless amount of ink and bring people in and out of existence by drowning them in ink, and bringing the people back up to drowned again. Which went on for days as Quentin's doppelganger never seemed to run of of energy or magic as it travel through Andalasia until the royal families came to the doppelganger and tried to reason with it and begging for its' forgiveness but was drowned in ink without a word from the copy. And, the rampage went on for another week before a neighborhood country noticed a bunch of Mana and ink coming from Andalasia and sent some magicians to figure out what was happening. And, the magicians were almost killed for their troubles as they ran into Quentin's copy and the copy wiped the floor with them when they fought it and after fighting the copy, they concluded the copy had Overblotted (from what little knowledge the time currently had) because the copy was being very emotional and destructive and had black outfit and ink around it and the local magicians retreated because none of the group had any experience in Overblotting and needed to call reinforcements from other countries. And after a few weeks of waiting the countries surrounding Andalasia gathered together and made a plan that was stalling for time and evacuating Andalasia citizens until the true Overblot experts could arrive. And the magicians followed their plan (despite not being able to help any Andalasian from the copy's wrath) for two weeks until the Overblot experts showed up and had a go at Quentin's doppelganger and then said the copy didn't have a shadow, which all the other Overblots did, which means the copy might not be Overblotting or something as is going on. And, the Overblot experts first concluded the copy must not be Overblotting because it had no shadow and hadn't run out of magic. So, the Overblot experts tried to talk with the copy to stop, but the doppelganger told them it wouldn't until it got its' revenge. When the Overblot experts asked what the copy meant by that, the copy explained the abusive laws made by RAP and the peasantry and what had happened to Quentin half a month ago (the betrayal by the royal lines) And, this shook the experts, as the way the copy explained the situation made it sound it was definitely in the right, and like they knew nothing about what Andalasia was really like because they were outsiders. And, the Overblot experts agreed to let it finish its' revenge uninterrupted, thinking it would stop on its' own. And the copy did finish rampaging on Andalasia and its' citizens and the copy was about to go into other country when it was stopped by the Overblot experts, saying that it was passing Andalasian territory and the copy said it didn't care about them and their rules. And then the Overblot experts realized they had majorly fucked up, as that was the shadow of the Overblotted Quentin, and they needed to find the real Quentin and beat her as she may still be alive and able to be reasoned with. Which took the group a while to find because of how big Andalasia was and how much interference the shadow, which the Overblot experts finally named Eris to avoid confusion, was giving to the group. They found Quentin still alive but hysterically crying ink and muttering something to herself. And the group tried to speak with Quentin but Eris showed up and freaked Quentin out with Eris attacking so violently, making the situation worse by making Eris more powerful (which went on for most of the day) until someone decided it would be best to kill Quentin and managed to get past the shadow and landed a powerful wind spell on her which majorly hurt Quentin and got Eris to disappear, until Quentin started coughing ink which formed an ink woman who called herself Lady Ink and explained she had been waiting forever for her to be free from her host. Which the Overblot experts were having none of and spammed her with magic and physical attacks until she disappeared. And then took the unconscious Quentin to a facility for study, and was genuinely surprised to find she was barely alive as the ink had somehow prevented her from dying, but her body was being overloaded with ink that needed to be expelled or Quentin would die. But, instead of giving her the treatment themselves, the experts handed Quentin over to a group known as The Worldwide Overblot Research Society, which was a part of the Cult of Mana, a dangerous cult who believes Mana will save the races of Twisted Wonderland from total annihilation. And the Overblot experts instead took the Andalasian royalty and all the members of RAP and interrogated the two side about Quentin's claims about abusive laws, which were found to be true. Meanwhile the Worldwide Overblot Research Society took wonderful care of getting the ink out of Quentin's body, which took a month plus a week and a half to do, and a more few days before Quentin actually woke up from her coma. In which coma Quentin describes being on the Other Side with her family and visiting the Night Raven College to check on her peers and friends. And she only woke up thanks to her family insisting she keep living because she had a chance out of Andalasia. When Quentin woke up from her coma, she was in an isolated facility and was treated like a glass doll for a couple of weeks, which she hated more than anything else because of how much the staff were really coddling and being kiss-asses and really treating her with less respect than a child gets. But which she eventually learned to deal with and manipulate to her advantage. As, she learned that most people in the facility treat her like a child to 'make her feel at home' or because they where genuinely frighten of what she could do. Which she definitely used against the facility's staff. And, in a pretty short amount of time, she learned she was very trapped with a less dangerous part of a cult and really had no way to escape with a third party involvement or a really good plan but, there was some other people with Quentin that were not the staff that almost seemed to be in a similar state to her own, who explained to that basically, they're stuck in this facility until the staff loses interest or when they die. Which, Quentin was not happy about and planned to escape until she received a visit from Crowley, who spoke to her through a mirror and asked what the situation was with the facility, to which, Quentin explained she was basically fucked because she won't be able to leave. To which, Crowley said he'd help her get out and than left, which Quentin took as a sign he wasn't going to help her quickly. Then, a few days later she received another visit from Malleus, Lilia and Silver who said he was all over the news and was currently being searched for by most news sources for a scoop on the situation and looked for him because he had really worried them. Which Quentin scoffed at saying, "Sure. It's being blasted on the news that I'm missing after Overblotting, why the hell would you guy else be here?" Which ticked Lilia off who cupped her cheeks and told her, "Child, I understand you aren't used to having genuine relationships with others, but you don't get to talk like that when you almost died a few weeks ago and disappeared to the rest of world, understand?" Which Quentin nodded at Lilia's sudden paternal talk. And the group of students got on to talking about Quentin's current situation, and what the world thought had happened to her, which each part lots of good information. Afterword the exchange, Malleus agreed to visit Quentin more often despite her and Lilia's protests about his well being and school grades. After the Diasomnia group left, she was secretly visited by her teachers, friends and spouses and her older sister and her family while Quentin was sleeping. Than, for a while, nothing happened to her and she gave up on escaping. Then Quentin's daily routine was changed completely and she gain a little bit more freedom. Than that change became boring and that turned to weeks, to months and than something came up. A new school year was going to begin and since Quentin was considered no longer missing, but under the protection of the Worldwide Overblot Research Society, Quentin needed to finish her second year at Night Raven College. Which the WORS denied until they faced lots of pressure from the staff at NRC, news outlets, and even from lackeys inside complaining that Quentin was a handful to take care of and soon caved into the pressure and agreed to let Quentin go to finish her second year. Well, not without some sort of protection, and sent a observer to 'look after her' which was one of their really brainwashed cult members as a first year to spy on her.
Quentin's Role in the Main Story: She is mostly a mother figure and advisor to her dorm mates and the first year squad. She does help with the story sometimes, but not by too much most of the time.
Prologue: Quentin is first seen making a comment about Crowley and his habit of doing whatever he wants while standing on the sidelines. Then later is surprised at Grim's overconfidence into getting into Night Raven College and putting out Kalim's butt fire after asking him to calm down and later calling Azul a kiss-ass. Quentin is later mentioned by Crowley as a kind student who lives in Ramshackle dorm by himself, and who will live with MC while they are there and is officially in Chapter 5 of the prologue after being passive-aggressive being told she doesn't really have a choice but to let MC in and agrees to make them dinner for the day. When Grim came into the dorm after being kicked out, Quentin seemed more annoyed with Grim's attitude than scared or nervous of him. She also introduced what combat would like to the MC and Grim who were scared by the dorm ghosts which Grim that picked a fight with. After Grim and MC's display of working together, she was genuinely so shocked she didn't see Crowley come in with food, and then explained what had happened and after another night with the help of MC convinces him to let the two stay because of the potential this event had but complained when the two were made handyman. Quentin wasn't present when Grim and MC woke up as the ghosts said he went to run some errands but left behind the two breakfast, but she did later show up at the end of the Prologue when she throws a feast for the first year squad for not getting expelled and for her two now official dorm mates for finally getting into Night Raven College.
Chapter 1: Quentin is first seen with Ace at Ramshackle's front door after letting him in. After she learns the situation, laughs at Ace's decision for stealing a tart but agrees to let him stay the night, and when Deuce comes to speak with Ace offered the first year squad breakfast. She also agreed to go with the group to Heartstabyul due to Ace's insistence on her coming as a safety net in case things got bad. She spoke with Cater a bit after he speaks with the first years, then says she needs to leave early because her first class is really far away from here. Quentin is seen again after the delinquent Heartstabyul students run off, saying he is happy he didn't have to step in because they could defend themselves. She speaks with Trey and Cater for a bit when they first came to the group before helping them explain the dorms and the general type of people in them. When Riddle appears to the group and Ace says something rude she tries to soften Riddle's mood, and when Riddle leaves calls him a stick in the mud, which Trey and Cater call harsh. When Trey offers to make the first years a month blanc to make up for Riddle's tart, Quentin agrees to help out and later partially pays when Deuce has to go to the school store. Quentin agrees to let Ace and Deuce stay in her dorm for the night, tells Trey and Cater he'll clean up and the two should go because she heard that some people got collared by Riddle today. Quentin goes to the Unbirthday Party at Grim and Ace's requests, and got a some want different outfit that is similar to Grim's bow that seemed to be modeled after the Ace of Spades. Quentin doesn't do anything while the first year squad rejects Riddle's behavior, which angers Riddle when she says that he will kick his butt if he touches the first year squad because they're giving him criticism, and later yelled at by Riddle when the first years are kicked out which she does not take lying down and gets into a fight with Riddle about his treatment of his fellow dorm mates saying it's emotional abuse, which she later leaves for after a bunch of Heartstabyul students gather around to watch and she sees Trey and Cater's face of fear. Quentin does come to Ace and Deuce's challenge for dorm leader, at the two's request and to keep an eye on Grim during the battle. Which Riddle takes as hostility and collars her which Crowley demands Riddle take it off as she only there to watch over Grim. Which Riddle says he'll once the challenge is over. After Ace and Deuce lost and antagonizes Riddle until he Overblots, she helps the Heartstabyul student evacuate and then fights Riddle after being uncollared by Trey's magic. When Riddle came to his sense, Quentin stayed very close to him, even in the infirmary. She doesn't stop Ace from demanding an apologize from Riddle though. Quentin is also at the Revenge Unbirthday Party and gets a good laugh out of Riddle's tart, and she gives some information about Royal Sword Academy and Che'nya when he appears and after she comments Che'nya cares about Riddle and Trey if he came so far just for sweets.
Chapter 2: Quentin is first seen at the headmaster's office after the first year squad was summoned by Crowley, saying he called here as well and helped Crowley explain Overblots, but mostly the part about its consequences on people. Crowley asks Quentin to fight her juniors which she does without too much complaint and shows the group her magical pen, which had some blot in it. Quentin later sighs when the Inter-Dorm Magical Shift Tournament is mentioned, saying he's going deal with all the hard work since the other dorms will claim they are busy. But Quentin asks Grim and MC if they would like try out for Magift but then is shut down by Crowley, saying her dorm still don't have enough members to play. Quentin is later seen at the dorm leader's Magical Shift meeting tagging unto Riddle's comment about Pomefiore, saying it never falls to amaze her what that dorm will do for 'beauty' and later calls Azul shade con man after he announces late fees. When Crowley makes the proposal for Malleus to be excluded from that year's Magical Shift Tournament and Leona refuses, she tells him that's he doing more work than he has to do if Malleus consented to it, and is shut up by Leona and Vil. When Idia asks if he is the only one who finds the idea alright, she says they've been outnumbered. Quentin is later seen coming into Grim and the ghosts playing Magical Shift and says he'll play too. When Crowley comes and tells the Ramshackle residents about the mysterious accidents and then says he can get the group into the tournament she calls that underhanded tactic but agrees when Grim insists on doing it she relents. After Trey is injured In one of the accidents and gets a testimony from him, she semi figures out that Ruggie is the one behind it but has no proof since she only barely knows about Ruggie's unique magic from Ruggie mentioning it. Quentin agrees to let Hearstabyul help her dorm out and is impressed with Cater information gathering skills and compliments him for it. When the group runs into the Leech twins while investigating, she laughs at Floyd's comment about hide and seek, and later when the group is running from the Leech twins and when Grim asks who those two were, through her laughing she says in Andalasian that they're in the school's mafia. Then when the group visits Jack, and he says he won't be targeted Quentin somewhat figures out what is happening with the incidents, father proved by Adahy, who was nearby Jack and said to Quentin he'll be busy for a while and he's sorry for that, but he got her a huge box of macrons to make up for it. Quentin speaks with Leona and Ruggie when they show up, saying his group there to hide from Azul and Crowley whose probably going to make them work. Which, Ruggie comments hard that must be, then Leona says he'll let the group hide longer if they play a few rounds of Magical Shift with him. Which, Quentin didn't much say before Grim pounced on the chance to play. During the Magift in Savanaclaw, she was pretty much holding the team with her decent skills and tactics but was quickly tired out after most of the Savanaclaw students targeted her, and is then defeated. Quentin is the seen the next day with her dorm mates talking about MC's encounter with Malleus, which she figures probably visited last night but doesn't tell the truth but gives away that she knows what happened by making a snorting sound trying to suppress a laugh but says it was a sneeze before Cater and Riddle show up and walk with the group to the cafeteria and says they are looking for Jamil Viper, who Quentin says he knows where Jamil is because Jamil asked him to help Kalim with an upcoming assignment last night. When the group gets to Jamil and Kalim's spot, Quentin is very warmly greeted by Kalim and Jamil and then notices the people behind her and she says her juniors wanted to ask Jamil about his injury then sat next to Kalim to help him with his homework. Which the two didn't do until the group hurriedly left and finished and managed to find the group and Jack, Ace and Deuce before Riddle spilled his plan to the group. Quentin is next seen when Jack visits her dormmates at their dorm and offers Jack a snack, which he denies. When her dorm finally arrives at the food stalls outside the stadium, she mentions she's glad not not have done too much work this year and how good the food smells. Quentin is present when Savanaclaw is busted with the major Diasomnia members and Cater, and Sebek mentions Quentin helped Malleus evacuate the bystanders after Ruggie used his magic on some of them. When Leona throws in the towel in the towel and gives up on his plan and the rest of Savanaclaw questions why, Quentin says there is no point in changing Leona's mind because he is useless when he gives up and doesn't understand the concept of fighting til the end, which pisses Leona off enough to use Lion's Roar on her and Ruggie and call her an entitled piece of shit. When Quentin sees that Ruggie’s arm has been injured, she ran over to Ruggie and knocked back Leona in the process to try to heal Ruggie’s arm with what healing magic she knew, which temporarily stopped Ruggie’s arm from fully disintegrating. When Jack pulls out his unique magic, Quentin seems genuinely surprised and comments that to be able to shapeshift into a wolf as a unique magic really is a gift, especially during the time they are in. Quentin uses her unique magic and figures out Leona is about to Overblot after Riddle makes a comment on how Leona should go and calm down and she screams at Leona to use his head not his emotions to fight which seems to pisses Leona off at least somewhat because he tells her to shut the hell up. Then, after Lilia makes a comment about Leona’s current standing as a prince and the ground rumbles, Quentin screams at everyone to get back and be prepared for anything. She also pulls out her magic pen to fight and is one of the first to fight with Leona, but when Ruggie stands up, she seems to switch priorities to make sure she can both stop Ruggie’s arm from crumbling and fighting Leona. When the battle is over, Leona hears Quentin calling for him to wake up, and when he fully wakes up has Grim pushing for Leona to confess his dorm’s actions which Quentin sighs about saying Grim is really desperate. Later when the injured people make their proposal to let Savanaclaw stay in the Inter-Dorm Tournament, she says she was originally against letting Savanaclaw in, but if the victims want the dorm in for revenge than she’s fine with it. Quentin also sighs at Crowley proposal for her dorm to play in an exhibition match saying it must’ve really been hard to think of on the spot but is better than going up against the teachers earning a few comments from the major characters, namely Jamil and Riddle. Quentin plays well during the exhibition match with Grim, Ace and Deuce as a leader but when MC was knocked out the group says Quentin immediately stopped playing and went to MC’s side to heal them. When MC wakes up, she is close by Ruggie and Leona saying the nurse told him to watch them. When the Savanaclaw students discuss next year’s game plan for Savanaclaw, Quentin says Leona doesn’t have much morality so there’s no point in arguing. When Cheka comes, after Grim’s comment she calls Cheka a precious little cutie and laughs at the group’s comment about Leona but does tell Cheka to be careful with Leona when he’s in the bed.
Chapter 3: Quentin is first mentioned by Ace for being irresponsible for letting Grim do whatever he wants, then by Crowley when he is threatening MC with the dorm’s budget, saying it’s getting to be too much for him from Quentin to constantly pull out his own bank account. When Grim first come back with an anemone on his head Quentin seems to not care about it, but in reality she knows what Grim did but her old habit of ignoring things comes up. Later Quentin is insulted by Grim for not being a great dorm leader and how MC is better at leading than her to kiss up to MC. Azul insults Quentin when MC makes a deal with him saying she’s basically a pushover for MC, and writes in the contract Quentin cannot be asked for help and if MC loses Quentin basically has nowhere to go. Quentin is first seen when Jade and Floyd appear to take away the dorm, and after explaining to her what had happened and mocked her for having pathetic dorm mates, she is seeming calm and level headed but the characters state there’s a really scary aura around her but she mutters swears in Andalasian a few times while speaking with Jade and Floyd, who ask if he want to fight them for the dorm back but she tells them no but thanks them for the offer and then quickly mutters that they are the trash of the school. When the Ramshackle dorm residents are officially kicked out, she actually shows her anger by swearing in common a few times but doesn’t scold MC or Grim despite Jack commenting she probably should with the really scary aura she has. Once MC and Grim have a place to stay and Deuce asks her if she’ll be alright, Quentin says he will, he’ll figure something out but first needs to take out his anger in a healthy manner before Jade and Floyd get to it so he’ll it’ll probably be a while before she contacts the two again, but she wishes them best of luck. When MC and Grim are at Savanaclaw’s morning training Leona mentions afterwords Quentin called him to fill him in on her dorm’s situation in case the first years didn’t. Later, Jade mentions Quentin is in the Scarabia dorm with Masawa and has made no attempt to contact her dorm mates or Savanaclaw, so they rule her out as a threat. Quentin is then seen much later, in Mostro Lounge by subtly messing with the servers and pretending to be clumsy and tripping the servers and workers when she gets up from her seat. Then Quentin is seen with Ruggie and Leona when Leona is about to break the contracts. After Leona and Ruggie aren’t bribed, Azul tries to bribe Quentin which she call him a slimy con man and asking him if he really expects him to take something as stupid of a tactic as that when he’s insulted her multiple time and messed with her juniors and thought he could get away with it with his stupid smug smile. And when Azul was muttering about his old, clumsy self she realized what was going to happen she told Azul to calm the hell down before he does something really stupid which he tell immediately her to shut up for her trouble. When Azul starts to steal abilities, Quentin tells everyone else to evacuate the area, and temporarily puts Azul in an magical barrier with her, Leona and Ruggie, which seems to take a lot of her but later when Jade, Floyd and the first year squad showed up was able to stabilize the barrier long enough for the group to win against Azul. When Azul comes to his sense, Quentin is somewhat close by. Close enough to be close Azul to tell if he’s alright but a decent distance away from the twins and Azul. Quentin also congratulates on her juniors on their hard work for completing Azul’s task out of spite, and Azul’s embarrassment saying he really is a touched starved man, which Azul really seems at a loss as to what to say about it. Quentin also says she’s never really seen the sea before except in picture and Floyd insists on her coming to the museum as well. Quentin also is somewhat present when Malleus appears a second time, as she calls MC inside for dinner after Silver and Sebek leave. The next day, Floyd and Jade mention Quentin is with Azul already at the museum, and once the group get there, Floyd seems to dragging Quentin around showing her the objects in the museum. When she encounters her juniors, she says Floyd’s overly joyful attitude tires him out and seems happy to go to Mostro Lounge for some food and when she hears what has happened to it, says Azul really doesn’t change but just changes tactics and sometimes it impresses him how far Azul really goes as a businessman
Chapter 4: Quentin is first seen in the first chapter talking to the ghosts about winter break, which she says she’s staying at school this year for due to issues with her other place which MC and Grim overhear when they come down and ask about but Quentin quickly changes the subject about. When the first years are found talking to each other, they mention Quentin is speaking with a group of five people who then go through the mirror one by one and then try to quickly change subjects when she comes over to their group, which happens before Ruggie rushes through with his food. Quentin says goodbye to most people besides Jade and Floyd, who she says he’d better not get buddy-buddy with him during the break. Quentin is also present when Grim demands to know to food situation for their dorm and calls Crowley a really unhelpful man for not thinking unhead and Grim easy to please after Crowley’s list of foods he’ll send if they put in the firewood. She also get MC’s magicame number, and Ace and Deuce says they already have his. When Grim comments how Ace and Deuce doesn’t shut up, she says he has no right to speak because he’s no different. When the Ramschakle residents encounter Jamil and the Scarabia students, she’s defiantly surprised a bunch of people are here because nobody told her about it but still greet the Scarabia students nicely. Once the minor Scarabia students notice Quentin, they ask her to help them out with the food, and she does while Jamil speaks with MC and Grim. When the food is done, she is about to help carry out the food before she tells her dorm mates they don’t have to come to Scarabia if they don’t want to, but she’s probably going to go to the party because she’s carrying food. She’s later seen at the party speaking with the Scarabia students with Masawa nearby, and when she notices her dorm mates she goes over to them and says the food is really good, so they should eat what they think looks good. She seemed confused when Kalim seemed aggressive about him not being aware of guests, as well as the whole dorm being on edge. She gives a explanation on how she knows Kalim and Jamil when Kalim comes from behind and hugs her, saying he and Kalim are in the same class, and Jamil will often ask for his help if Kalim won’t listen to him. Later, when Kalim goes to the treasure vault he says he showed Quentin it not too long ago, and is mentioned by Jamil that he’s been waiting for them for dinner to start. Quentin is then seen later when Kalim, Grim and MC come back in the dining hall speaking with Masawa, and when Kalim comes into the room hypnotized and says the dorm needs more training and Ramshackle is staying, Quentin is seen somewhat panicking. As, she realizes what is going on but is trying not to let Jamil see. As, she knows about Jamil’s unique magic from Kalim, Jamil and her exchanging their unique magics because Kalim said he wanted to see Quentin’s. Later, Quentin is seen in a separate room than Grim and MC’s which seemed slightly more decorated, heavily breathing and holding her magic pen. The next day, Quentin is seen with an umbrella right behind Jamil and seemed distressed which Jamil and Grim commented on, but she says was because she didn’t sleep well due to a nightmare. When Kalim made it rain, she seemed to calm down a bit, but got distressed when Kalim fell under hypnosis later in the day. The next day, she seems worried about her junior’s lack of sleep despite her not looking much better than them, and lets MC and Grim drink most of her water and Grim stand on her shoulder during the break before Kalim knocks him off her shoulder and says they are marching again. Quentin was present at the meeting about Kalim’s behavior with Masawa nearby her, and while she didn’t say anything but she seemed very, very stressed and had lukewarm reactions to things Jamil said to the group. When Kalim under hypnosis comes in and gives the group more work and calls Quentin a lazy nobleman just before she gets in her room and has a panic attack right as her dorm mates escape, causing lots of wild magic to occur, and why only a few people chase Grim and MC to Octavinelle and as MC and Grim’s escape cause a huge wind you see Quentin in her panicked state with Jamil and Kalim looking upset and confused as to what to do. When MC and Grim come back with the Octavinelle trio Quentin is wearing a new set of clothes, and seems surprised and upset the trio is in Scarabia. When Jade asks why she’s wearing Scarabia like clothes, she says she’ll explain later. When Azul, Jade and Floyd mutter to themselves about how they wanted to stay in Scarabia, she calls the three drama queens. Later in the day, Quentin is seen in the same room as her dorm mates and the Octavinelle trio, explains she had a panic attack when Grim and MC escaped, which his friend Masawa managed to help him calm down from and when discussing Kalim’s attitude, she says he’s definitely under some spell but doesn’t say it’s Jamil’s, mostly because she has no proof. And when the group makes their plan to make Kalim spill the truth, Quentin goes with Grim and MC and plays Mancala with MC until Grim asks for her to play with him so he can him. When Jade and Jamil had an angry exchange, Quentin did try to calm the two down but that didn’t work. Quentin is next seen helping Floyd with breakfast and when she spot Jamil says he’s sorry for stealing kitchen supplies without permission but he honestly wanted to help him out. For most of the day, Quentin is seen near Jamil looking confused as to why he is so angry but doesn’t say anything, besides when Azul and Kalim are talking about recipes from the Land of Hot Sands, which she says that was the most moral thing Azul has done in a while, which Azul comments was mean to say. Then, after Jamil and Azul go off to make tea and Jade announces to Jamil Azul’s been livestreaming this whole time, Quentin appears with Kalim, looking very angry and with her menacing aura with her, but lets Kalim speak with Jamil and protectively stands near Kalim when Jamil announces he hates Kalim and wishes he’d die. When Floyd reveals he traded his unique magic for a new voice, Quentin is seen very creeped out by it, and expresses she hates it. Quentin also defends Kalim from the hoard of hypnotized Scarabia students, which looks difficult for her trying to get Kalim to stay back and push the other students knocked back. When Quentin, her dorm mates, the Octavinelle trio and Kalim get thrown to the end of the desert, she sustains some what bad injuries but seemed more concerned about Kalim’s well being. She does heal herself before Kalim whips up a river and gets on Floyd, but she does say that it’s kinda mean to dog pile on Kalim after he just got betrayed, but he does agree with the group. When the group gets back, she some what seductively says Jamil is very intelligent after Jade, and fights Jamil saying Jamil is going to get his butt kicked for giving him a panic attack. When Jamil wakes up, Kalim and Quentin are close by him and she seems some what happy that Jamil is awake. Later, when Kalim offers Jamil an equal standing and Jamil denies it, Quentin calls him a hypocrite for having what he wants in the palm of his hand and than denying it. At the parade Quentin is seen decently energetic and laughs at Jamil’s tsundereness, and at the party is very excited about swimming in a pool, as she says it has been a while since she’s been in a pool. When Ace and Deuce show up, Quentin offers the first years food next to Jade and Azul and thanks them for coming all this way. Quentin is then later seen calling the MC in for the feast after Lilia gave them a card.

“The one thing that everyone who has read A Tale of Two Cities remembers is the Reign of Terror. The whole book is dominated by the guillotine — tumbrils thundering to and fro, bloody knives, heads bouncing into the basket, and sinister old women knitting as they watch. Actually these scenes only occupy a few chapters, but they are written with terrible intensity, and the rest of the book is rather slow going. But A Tale of Two Cities is not a companion volume to The Scarlet Pimpernel. Dickens sees clearly enough that the French Revolution was bound to happen and that many of the people who were executed deserved what they got. If, he says, you behave as the French aristocracy had behaved, vengeance will follow. He repeats this over and over again. We are constantly being reminded that while ‘my lord’ is lolling in bed, with four liveried footmen serving his chocolate and the peasants starving outside, somewhere in the forest a tree is growing which will presently be sawn into planks for the platform of the guillotine, etc., etc., etc. The inevitability of the Terror, given its causes, is insisted upon in the clearest terms:
It was too much the way... to talk of this terrible Revolution as if it were the only harvest ever known under the skies that had not been sown — as if nothing had ever been done, or omitted to be done, that had led to it — as if observers of the wretched millions in France, and of the misused and perverted resources that should have made them prosperous, had not seen it inevitably coming, years before, and had not in plain terms recorded what they saw.
And again:
All the devouring and insatiate monsters imagined since imagination could record itself, are fused in the one realization, Guillotine. And yet there is not in France, with its rich variety of soil and climate, a blade, a leaf, a root, a spring, a peppercorn, which will grow to maturity under conditions more certain than those that have produced this horror. Crush humanity out of shape once more, under similar hammers, and it will twist itself into the same tortured forms.
In other words, the French aristocracy had dug their own graves. But there is no perception here of what is now called historic necessity. Dickens sees that the results are inevitable, given the causes, but he thinks that the causes might have been avoided. The Revolution is something that happens because centuries of oppression have made the French peasantry sub-human. If the wicked nobleman could somehow have turned over a new leaf, like Scrooge, there would have been no Revolution, no jacquerie, no guillotine — and so much the better. This is the opposite of the ‘revolutionary’ attitude. From the ‘revolutionary’ point of view the class-struggle is the main source of progress, and therefore the nobleman who robs the peasant and goads him to revolt is playing a necessary part, just as much as the Jacobin who guillotines the nobleman. Dickens never writes anywhere a line that can be interpreted as meaning this. Revolution as he sees it is merely a monster that is begotten by tyranny and always ends by devouring its own instruments. In Sydney Carton's vision at the foot of the guillotine, he foresees Defarge and the other leading spirits of the Terror all perishing under the same knife — which, in fact, was approximately what happened.
And Dickens is very sure that revolution is a monster. That is why everyone remembers the revolutionary scenes in A Tale of Two Cities; they have the quality of nightmare, and it is Dickens's own nightmare. Again and again he insists upon the meaningless horrors of revolution — the mass-butcheries, the injustice, the ever-present terror of spies, the frightful blood-lust of the mob. The descriptions of the Paris mob — the description, for instance, of the crowd of murderers struggling round the grindstone to sharpen their weapons before butchering the prisoners in the September massacres — outdo anything in Barnaby Rudge. The revolutionaries appear to him simply as degraded savages — in fact, as lunatics. He broods over their frenzies with a curious imaginative intensity. He describes them dancing the ‘Carmagnole’, for instance:
There could not be fewer than five hundred people, and they were dancing like five thousand demons... They danced to the popular Revolution song, keeping a ferocious time that was like a gnashing of teeth in unison... They advanced, retreated, struck at one another's hands, clutched at one another's heads, spun round alone, caught one another, and spun around in pairs, until many of them dropped... Suddenly they stopped again, paused, struck out the time afresh, forming into lines the width of the public way, and, with their heads low down and their hands high up, swooped screaming off. No fight could have been half so terrible as this dance. It was so emphatically a fallen sport — a something, once innocent, delivered over to all devilry.
He even credits some of these wretches with a taste for guillotining children. The passage I have abridged above ought to be read in full. It and others like it show how deep was Dickens's horror of revolutionary hysteria. Notice, for instance that touch, ‘with their heads low down and their hands high up’, etc., and the evil vision it conveys. Madame Defarge is a truly dreadful figure, certainly Dickens's most successful attempt at a malignant character. Defarge and others are simply ‘the new oppressors who have risen in the destruction of the old’, the revolutionary courts are presided over by ‘the lowest, cruellest and worst populace’, and so on and so forth. All the way through Dickens insists upon the nightmare insecurity of a revolutionary period, and in this he shows a great deal of prescience. ‘A law of the suspected, which struck away all security for liberty or life, and delivered over any good and innocent person to any bad and guilty one; prisons gorged with people who had committed no offence, and could obtain no hearing’ — it would apply pretty accurately to several countries today.
The apologists of any revolution generally try to minimize its horrors; Dickens's impulse is to exaggerate them — and from a historical point of view he has certainly exaggerated. Even the Reign of Terror was a much smaller thing than he makes it appear. Though he quotes no figures, he gives the impression of a frenzied massacre lasting for years, whereas in reality the whole of the Terror, so far as the number of deaths goes, was a joke compared with one of Napoleon's battles. But the bloody knives and the tumbrils rolling to and fro create in his mind a special sinister vision which he has succeeded in passing on to generations of readers. Thanks to Dickens, the very word ‘tumbril’ has a murderous sound; one forgets that a tumbril is only a sort of farm-cart. To this day, to the average Englishman, the French Revolution means no more than a pyramid of severed heads. It is a strange thing that Dickens, much more in sympathy with the ideas of the Revolution than most Englishmen of his time, should have played a part in creating this impression.” - George Orwell, “Charles Dickens,” Inside the Whale and Other Essays. Quentin's Full Backstory/Role in Twisted Wonderland's Main Story
Hello! Before you start this, I need to put some trigger warnings because Quentin's background contains lots of dark subjects because of her growing up in my version of Andalasia, which already has issues because well, I wanted to add realism into Twisted Wonderland and ended up making, well, a pretty messed up place. So, here's my warning: This post contains mentions and depictions of mental illnesses namely suicidal depression and implied bipolar disorder, unhealthy coping mechanisms/habits such as self-harm implied drug/alcohol usage implied underage marriage and yandere behaviors, child neglect (if you squint), sibling neglect/abandonment, attempted sororicide, successful suicide, nervous breakdown, implied torture, gaslighting and panic attacks. So, if you don't feel comfortable with any of these topics, I have a more SFW version here.
Also, this is going to be a long post because that's how detailed I was. Which I kinda hate myself now but whatever it's posted now. So, grab some food or drinks because this is going to take a while to read. I have a basic and short here if you really don't want or have the time for reading a long post.
Backstory [ Really Short and Basic vers. ] [ SFW vers. ]
Childhood: Quentin was born the last child of the Desmona family, the 11th line of the Andalasian noble houses with an older brother ten years older than her named Rasul Desmona and an older sister fourteen years older than her named Faustina Desmona. From what Quentin remembers, she didn't really leave her house much at her family's requests. She also remembers feeling distant from her parents and her older sister with Rasul was the only true connection she felt she had within her family, as she somewhat understood her mother was emotionally unstable and very busy with diplomatic matters, her father wasn't always there for her and Faustina seemed to care very little for her. Quentin also remembers meeting and playing with her upper class friends and peers all the time during that timeframe which still she fondly remembers. Quentin also says when she was little she was very idealistic and lots of people praised her for her intellect for a girl her age, which she would often use mischievously. When Quentin was four, Faustina ran off with her husband Oberyn, leaving a note telling her family she was leaving her royal life for her husband, who was really yandere for Faustina from what Quentin remembers of when she actually saw him. The declaration of Faustina's resignation from the family immediately affected the Desmona family as Quentin's father suddenly spent little to no time with the family anymore choosing to instead hide in books, her mother became so emotionally unstable Quentin and Rasul had to be taken from her custody by Quentin's best friend a princess named Andromeda, who was really upset that Quentin was now easy to scare and was not as available to play with after school and then discovered why when Quentin got scared so badly by one of her teachers she had to go to a royal doctor to calm her down and the doctor figured out why and told the young princess. While Quentin doesn't remember much about her time in royal custody, Andromeda says Quentin and her and their families played and partied a lot together most of the time Qunetin and Rasual was there with lots of alcohol and drugs to help the Desmona children forget. Andromeda also states she and Quentin even shared a room together for the whole time Quentin was in the palace and Quentin, despite being in therapy because the upper class families feared Mr. and Mrs. Desmona were physically abusing her and Rasul and was enforcing everyone treat Quentin very kindly, was mostly alright after a few days of resting and playing with her friends and really just needed to be away from her mother's toxic influence, especially compared to her brother who actually needed therapy. During her temporary stay at the royal place, Quentin met most of the royal family which she became close with, namely Azazel, Andromeda's twin brother. Quentin and Andromeda also made a promise to stay together, which only Andromeda really remembers. After about a few weeks of the Desmona children staying the royal palace, word got out to the whole country that Faustina had abandoned the royal family and Mr. and Mrs. Desmona were executed without their children's knowledge because of the peasantry demanding blood for Faustina's departure. At the time, the royal family had planned to have the two hidden within the palace because the two were innocent of Faustina's crime and still in the process of healing, while Mr. and Mrs. Desmona were not since the did nothing to stop Faustina's toxic relationship. A month after the two children were released from royal custody and learning to run a house without their parents with some help from other houses because of how young the two were (as they were now five and fifteen and told their parents where in a longer therapy than them.) a servant, without permission, told the two that her parents where actually dead. Once the two actually realized it was true after being shown evidence, it sent Rasul into a spiral of depressive and yandere episodes centered around Quentin and got Quentin into beginning stages of her self-harming tendencies, which the two was able to be pulled out of before it got too bad, but really couldn't fix it because they had gotten to the children far too late and it seemed to have developed into a habit. But, to try a combat the destructive tendencies the two had, instead the noble houses distracted the Desmona house by getting them to run a noble house via a bunch a fancy parties with alcohol. Which, while it did stress the two Desmona siblings out majorly because the two basically had to scramble to get their noble house together, it worked out (by some miracle) and eventually things settled down to where everything was seemly back to normal, despite Rasul's yandere behaviors towards Quentin and Quentin being more depressed than she used to be, which the two learned to hide. For a few years, the Desmona siblings worked hard to maintain their noble house and balancing their school lives as well, which gave the two lots of useful skills and gained the house a reputation for being a hardworking and intelligent house to be born into.
Teenage Years: When Quentin was thirteen, she found her brother dead next to her in her bed when she woke up from a nap and then she herself felt really, really dizzy and sick. She managed to phone call someone from help before she passed out and when she woke up, she woke up exactly a week later and the royal doctors and nurses said her older brother Rasul he had killed himself with a poisonous potion because, despite how much he loved Quentin, he couldn't take the pressures of being an Andalasian nobleman after all the hard work he had put in and he tried to kill Quentin with the same potion because he thought Quentin was the only person in all of Andalasia that mattered. Though, later on the doctors and nurses admit his suicide note didn't give an exact reason why he killed himself so the doctors and nurses where guessing his motive as the note was him ranting about how hard it was to be a noble with peasants that control his life and how his life sucked after his parents were killed and his older sister left him and how hard him and Quentin had worked and how much he loved Quentin, which showed Rasul had yandere-like obsession towards Quentin. Which on top of all the information she had just learned really depressed Quentin because of how much she loved Rasul then felt the surviving Desmond child didn't know what to do with her life anymore now that she basically had nothing and that depression spun wildly out of control quickly bringing back her self-harming tendencies even worse than before and brought out suicidal thoughts until Quentin's body shut down from all the stress and depression Quentin had for two days, which only added to the amount of time she was in the royal hospital for and after she passed out for two days. After a long time of depression Quentin was able to get herself under control, as the upper class of Andalasia would often visit her while she was asleep and she heard them cry so hard to see she was so stressed and screaming she didn't want to be alive anymore. Which is the main reason she snapped of her depression, because their reactions really hit Quentin that she wasn't alone, and then later on learning how long she’s been in the royal hospital which was almost a year. Quentin really did try to heal from a near year of depression by trying her best to get herself together without the use of therapy and trying her best to visit with her friends and peers mostly notably Azazel, Eadwine and Amiel as she said they had the most impact on her and, she got better. A lot better than she used to be. She learned lots of ways to combat her self-destructive behaviors, which she still uses. When Quentin got out of the royal hospital she worked really hard to get her noble house back on its feet which really helped her learn things about herself and life in general, making her a better person. She also got a position in the royal house as a librarian and diplomat for the royal house and the Republic of Andalasian Peoples, for her hard work in self-improvement, which Quentin worked hard to try and establish some sort of relationship between the two groups which did work out. After a few months of a not-so-heavy workload, Quentin received marriage proposals from almost every house due to her skills and hard work which Quentin got nervous about because she wasn't sure if she wanted to commit to anybody yet, until she spoke with Amiel and told him she wasn't sure what to do. Amiel said to marry him, Eadwine and Azazel because they were the closest to her, the foursome needed each other a lot with how much they've came to know each other and they are all in a similar boat which Quentin agreed to do. And after months of awkward dates because of the group wanting to actually fall in love the group had finally proposed to each other, and then after a lot of setbacks that took the group hugely off guard (which was mostly other weddings, parties and schoolwork) their wedding day was held when the group was fifteen and the four agreed to make a new house, the 14th house, named Nighy-Sallow which worked well for the foursome as each was very skilled, had a decent reputation and was decently wealthy to boot, so they could take care of themselves well. Quentin lived a mostly decent life with her spouses for a year until she found a letter from Night Raven College about her brother's application to the school was accepted, and the school needed Rasul confirmation that he could attend, which Quentin wasn't sure how to take at first because she was very confused as how the hell did this letter get to her older brother without the royalty knowing, along with a flurry of other emotions Quentin didn't understand or really process at the time. But eventually Quentin wrote a letter back confirming that she would attend Night Raven College instead of her brother stating her brother died of tuberculosis and would do it in his place and then sent it as secretly as she could to NRC who accepted her letter thinking Quentin was Rasul's younger brother. When Quentin received her acceptance letter into Night Raven College, she was very conflicted as to what to do then as, she had a month before the school year started and she now had a choice. She could, by some miracle, dual enroll into NRC and the school was already enrolled in (which she then realized was impossible because NRC had dorms) she could run away from Andalasia (which she later found in her brother's diary was what he was planning to do) or ask to go to NRC, and after a few days of thinking, Quentin went to Andromeda and told her the situation she was in. Andromeda surprisingly agreed to let her go to Night Raven College saying, sooner or later the country needed to see the world again, and who better to do so than one of the smartest people in the kingdom? And then after some careful negotiations with the royal family and RAP that involved lots of non-disclosure agreements, and lots of convincing from her spouses that would be okay without and her would actually be okay at NRC, Quentin was released from Andalasian grip and allowed to go to NRC under the conditions she was doing it for diplomatic reasons.
Quentin's First Year at Night Raven College: Quentin was honestly somewhat confused to be brought to NRC in a coffin and changed out of the semi-fancy unisex clothes she was wearing into the school's robes but she took it in stride as it was her first time outside her country thinking it maybe normal for schools to have this strange gimmick and when Quentin got to Night Raven College's campus, it surprised her how big and complicated the school looked on the outside but then quickly realized it was very emo looking on the inside. Quentin also encountered a lot of people saying her with hair down made her look like a girl and how she's probably going to be sorted into Pomefiore with those looks she has which, she waved off due to not enough knowledge about the situation. At the entrance ceremony, Quentin met Agat and Dorji whom she was sitting next to and talked with Agat a bit about Night Raven College, getting the basics of: this was a prestigious school for magicians before Agat went to be sorted into Diasomnia which information Quentin did not know at all before coming other school because she came from a lock-downed country. When Quentin was to be sorted, the mirror stated the shape of her soul belonged to no dorm but Ramshackle dorm after a few minutes of looking at her in silence which even the teachers seemed to be surprised about since Ramshackle dorm had been abandoned for a while at that point. Quentin simply shrugged off the teachers and the dorm leaders asking her questions about if she would be okay being by herself because they had not planned for someone to be sorted into Ramshackle at all, and she said that the choice cannot be changed now, as the mirror made a decision and if it meant she wasn't in a common dorm, than so be it because the mirror's choice supposed to be for his benefit so he'd deal with it and the teachers actually seemed to like Quentin's response and for the rest of the ceremony told her to stay close to them, and they would talk to her after the ceremony was done. Once the ceremony was done Quentin was told by the headmaster Dire Crowley that she was the first person to be in Ramshackle dorm in a long time so her dorm would be a mess and she had a lot of work ahead of her on top of schoolwork so he asked if she would need any help or accommodations. When the school year actually started Quentin was sorted into class 1-D as student number 10 and Quentin found her schoolwork to be. . .easy. Really easy. Which made her feel like her like her time at Night Raven College was really not worth it because for the first few weeks as she really was having little to no difficulty at all with her classes and most people caught unto it not only because most of the teachers praised her a lot for her intellect but also because she didn't seem to be cheating in any way, either. Which, actually got her into somewhat of trouble because lots of people thought she was cheating. (Because how do you get great PE and Alchemy grades without some sort of cheating?! Those teachers rig the class against you!) Which Quentin really did not want to deal with trouble over grades because she needed study as much as she could about Twisted Wonderland and how to be a boy, so Quentin toned down her grades to be much lower so she was barely passing as an honor student much to most of the teachers' dismay, but she did explain her reasoning to her teachers saying she really didn't have the time for honor student pricks and greedy jerks to bully with her, as she had a dorm to get back into shape and, most of the teachers agreed with that logic except Divus Crewel and Aston Vargas whom she agreed to help out to placate them. For about half a month after lowering her grades, Quentin had peace for the first time since she entered Night Raven College and she decided to use that time to rebuild her dorm building and really study the world outside Andalasia which she now had a good grasp on Twisted Wonderland and its' countries. A week after she finished rebuilding Ramshackle dorm proper, she started getting invited to dorm leader meetings by fellow dorm leaders. Which, at first she was suspicious about since Ramshackle's only reputation was their only member was barely an honor student but she soon realized the reason for her being at the meetings when the leaders dumped work they didn't want to do on her, which really pissed her off but decided to live with because she really had no problems with schoolwork and than the staff, most notably Crowley started calling favors from Quentin as well. Which made her even more angry, as she realized she was now basically the school leaders' gopher. Which at first was not too much of a problem for Quentin until the school leaders started to take her service for granted and treated her like a dumb first year. Which, really, really pissed her off and at first, Quentin just didn't deal with the problem and ignored it until she snapped at her dorm's ghosts and broke down crying saying the school was too hard for her. The ghosts then confronted her about her issue, and asked why he put up with the crap he gets from other dorm leaders and why a person like him put up with their garbage and Quentin realized that she really didn't deserve this treatment at all because of what her brother had to sacrifice to get her here and she needed to stand up for herself and, after lots of help from the ghosts, she stood up to the staff and dorm leaders for using her as a gopher and not appreciating her work for it and called the dorm leaders and staff out about a lot of unsavory things they have asked her to do despite the fact they can do it themselves which took most of the leaders aback, as Quentin had done a complete 180 from her usual happy to do anything self she usually put on in front of them. and, after a few weeks of Quentin doing nothing to help and refusing any interact with school leadership meetings, the rest of the staff and dorm leaders realized she was serious and agreed to give her more say in school activities and be less of a gopher and get more respect, which Quentin was very happy about. During her time in class 1-D, she got somewhat close with Malleus Draconia, whom she was often paired with on group assignments and projects. Quentin didn't get to know Malleus not that much, but close enough that most people associated her with Malleus and by association, Lilia Vanrouge with which over the course of the school year Quentin became well acquainted with, which made her an unprompted reputation for being pretty powerful despite not showing it. Quentin also encountered Dorji at one of his worst moments and took him into Ramshackle dorm and much later became friends with him and later than that, she met Agat again and became friends with him and other than the people she met Quentin starting to make relationships with the other first years, and then the school year ended pretty quickly for Quentin and she had to go back to Andalasia.
The Months In-between Quentin's First and Second Years: When Quentin came back from her school year, she was considered actually pretty late coming home due to Night Raven College and her original school's schedule were very different, (Night Raven took a lot more time to 'goof off' her peers say than her original high school did.) But, Quentin was still welcomed home very warmly because of how much her peers and spouses had missed her, despite her visiting on her vacations or calling or writing letters to her spouses and friends when she could. Quentin also gave her spouses pets not long after coming home because she felt they needed someone to take care for them while she was gone and her notes and calls were definitely not cutting it for them, so Quentin gifted Amiel a Malamute puppy which Amiel later named Agapi, Eadwine a Tabby cat which Eadwine later named Aziz, and Azazel a somewhat-expensive Dutch bunny which Azazel later named Chaviv which the three spouses of Quentin really appreciated since it wasn't hard to figure out why Quentin got them pets and why she was working hard to get the pets comfortable and feeling like they are a part of family. So, the three spouses got her a Persian short hair and American Bobtail cross breed which Quentin later named Carwyn that the family trained as a messenger cat (which took most of the winter break and into the school year to do).
But, at about third of way into the ceremony Quentin figured she wasn't going to get any dorm mates which upset her a little and she left the ceremony unnoticed and got herself some expensive sweets from Sam's shop, whose shop was surprisingly open and Sam said he wasn't attending the ceremony this year due to some problems with his friends from the Other Side and, the two hung out for the rest of the ceremony eating sweets, giving advice and talking about their personal experience with ghosts. Which Quentin thought was really fun, and she says he'd be cool with hanging out with Sam again around entrance ceremony time as she says he's her favorite staff member at NRC. When the school year finally started, Quentin's school days weren't really eventful for the first month, until she was visited at her dorm by Malleus and Lilia, who introduced her to Silver and asked her to make them dinner which she begrudgingly did after Lilia's insistence and once Quentin made dinner, Lilia told her Silver was new to being around other humans, and asked to help him out. Which she agreed to after a quick laugh saying, "I know you two are Fae, but the way you two talk about the subject is like it's a major thing. But being human is probably something Silver already sort of knows what it means." Which really confused Malleus and got Lilia to get philosophical with her which, actually got to be a really interesting conversation as the group learned a lot about Quentin just by asking her a few questions and a couple days later, Quentin met Masawa Naran during a combined class and said something Masawa really needed to hear then, and then Quentin met Adahy Haida and Ruggie Bucchi while working with the Savanaclaw dorm leader at the time and, Quentin later became friends with Masawa and Adahy and making a decent relationship with Ruggie. She also met most of major second years and fellow third years and gained a decent standing with them. Namely Kalim Al-Asim and Jamil Viper and the Leech twins. Quentin also managed to stop Floyd in a really bad mood by at first stopping a physical fight between him and another student, and then ended up fighting with him which was a battle she somehow managed to beat Floyd which earned her the nickname Floyd calls her, 'Stingray' after he also found out she was also a dorm leader. Besides those events happening nothing much happen to Quentin Nighy-Sallow during her second year until about halfway through the school year, in the middle of one of her classes she was called out by Crowley, demanding that he needed to visit the headmaster's office and urgently. When Quentin got to the office, Crowley and the other dorm leaders had gathered together for an emergency meeting because of a group of people with a carriage claiming to be Andalasian royalty came to the front gate, and demanded for Quentin Nighy-Sallow to come with them at once and the dorm leaders questioned Quentin and what she knew about the situation, and she told them he honestly didn't what was happening and maybe he could figure out what is going on if he could speak with the group. After getting Crowley's permission, Quentin went down with the other dorm leaders to ask the people outside the gates what they wanted, and when the group got there they was comforted with Andromeda, Azazel, Eadwine and Amiel plus a few palace guards saying Quentin needed to come back to Andalasia because the political turmoil was becoming too much without her help and, without a word, the other dorm leaders simply told Quentin to go, because it didn't seem like a joke and she can deal with the paper work later. So, Quentin went off with the carriage to Andalasia, which took about a week to get to on horse, even despite the sea and in which time Quentin realized something was definitely wrong with how Andromeda, Azazel, Eadwine and Amiel were acting and talking to her and when the carriage was just outside the city and entered into it. . .only for the carriage to be busted open and Quentin to be pushed out of the carriage and into the street and then the carriage quickly ran off. While Quentin was in shock and trying to process what had happened, she was grabbed by a mob of peasants who were mocking her and calling her a slew of curse words in Andalasian and brought her to a guillotine and quickly a member of RAP gave a speech to the people that Quentin was a traitor to Andalasia and even the royalty agreed as they handed her over to them to be killed hyping up the crowd and even kicking Quentin's face a few times and calling her a sellout and just like her family: cowardly and shameless. Which caused Quentin to almost break as she kept telling herself to hold her head high and show no fear to those who don't care, but her emotions were in a flurry of anger and hurt and disappointed for being betrayed when her life was going pretty well and then Quentin's body let a few tears escaped her eyes, she claims the world froze and heard a voice speak to her, a voice that asked her why she was holding back after everything that had just happened to her, and she replied there is no point because she was going to die here the voice pointed out Quentin wasn't dead yet and that she could still break out and leave but Quentin simply shook her head and said she didn't care anymore and that everybody she once had was gone, and she's given up on fixing it because she really didn't want to live, since most of the people she cares about are already dead and her time at Night Raven College doesn't matter and then Quentin says in front of her materialized a copy of herself made of ink and in the voice she was talking to said, "So, you've lost everything you've ever had and can't bring yourself to express your feelings? Fine then. I'll do it for you." And Quentin says her world suddenly became black and she felt only her emotions and nothing else but according to the people present there and a camera recording her, after Quentin shed a few tears a darkness engulfed the area and Quentin was broken out of the guillotine with a powerful ink-like spell and a person looking exactly like Quentin appeared in front of a fearful and panicking Quentin and laughed manically yelling to the people, "So I'm a monster to you? A cowardly traitor and sellout? Fine then! I'll be the worst monster Andalasia has seen! Because none in Andalasia deserves mercy!" And then proceeded to destroy the area within endless amount of ink and bring people in and out of existence by drowning them in ink, and bringing the people back up to drowned again which went on for days as Quentin's doppelganger never seemed to run of of energy or magic as it travel through Andalasia in its’ rampage until the royal families came to the doppelganger and tried to reason with it and begging for its' forgiveness but was drowned in ink without a word from the copy of Quentin and, the rampage of the Overblotted Quentin went on for another week before a neighborhood country noticed a bunch of Mana and ink coming from Andalasia and sent some magicians to figure out what was happening and, the magicians were almost killed for their troubles as they ran into Quentin's copy and the copy wiped the floor with them when they fought it and after fighting the copy, they concluded the copy had Overblotted (from what little knowledge the time currently had) because the copy was being very emotional and destructive and had black outfit and ink around it and the local magicians retreated because none of the group had any experience in Overblotting and needed to call reinforcements from other countries and after a few weeks the countries surrounding Andalasia gathered together and made a plan that was stalling for time and evacuating Andalasia citizens until the true Overblot experts could arrive and the magicians followed their plan (despite not being able to help any Andalasian from the copy's wrath) for two weeks until the Overblot experts showed up and had a go at Quentin's doppelganger and then said the copy didn't have a shadow, which all the other Overblots did, which means the copy might not be Overblotting or something as is going on. And, the Overblot experts first concluded the copy must not be Overblotting because it had no shadow and hadn't run out of magic. So, the Overblot experts tried to talk with the copy to stop, but the doppelganger told them it wouldn't until it got its' revenge. When the Overblot experts asked what the copy meant by that, the copy explained the abusive laws made by RAP and the peasantry and what had happened to Quentin half a month ago (the betrayal by the royal lines) and, this shook the experts, as the way the copy explained the situation made it sound it was definitely in the right, and like they knew nothing about what Andalasia was really like because they were outsiders and, the Overblot experts agreed to let it finish its' revenge uninterrupted, thinking it would stop on its' own and the copy did finish rampaging on Andalasia and its' citizens and the copy was about to go into other country when it was stopped by the Overblot experts, saying that it was passing Andalasian territory and the copy said it didn't care about them and their rules and then and there the Overblot experts realized they had majorly fucked up, as that was the shadow of the Overblotted Quentin, and they needed to find the real Quentin and beat her as she may still be alive and able to be reasoned with which took the group a while to find because of how big Andalasia was and how much interference the shadow, which the Overblot experts finally named Eris to avoid confusion, was giving to the group they found Quentin still alive but hysterically crying ink and muttering something to herself and the group tried to speak with Quentin but Eris showed up and freaked Quentin out with Eris attacking so violently, making the situation worse by making Eris more powerful (which went on for most of the day) until someone decided it would be best to kill Quentin and managed to get past the shadow and landed a powerful wind spell on her which majorly hurt Quentin and got Eris to disappear, until Quentin started coughing ink which formed an ink woman who called herself Lady Ink and explained she had been waiting forever for her to be free from her host which the Overblot experts were having none of and spammed her with magic and physical attacks until she disappeared and then took the unconscious Quentin to a facility for study, and was genuinely surprised to find she was barely alive as the ink had somehow prevented her from dying, but her body was being overloaded with ink that needed to be expelled or Quentin would die but, instead of giving her the treatment themselves, the experts handed Quentin over to a group known as The Worldwide Overblot Research Society, which was a part of the Cult of Mana, a dangerous cult who believes Mana will save the races of Twisted Wonderland from total annihilation. The Overblot experts instead took the Andalasian royalty and all the members of RAP and interrogated the two sides about Quentin's claims about abusive laws, which were found to be true. Meanwhile the Worldwide Overblot Research Society took wonderful care of getting the ink out of Quentin's body, which took a month plus a week and a half to do, and a more few days before Quentin actually woke up from her coma. In which coma Quentin describes being on the Other Side with her family and visiting the Night Raven College to check on her peers and friends and she only woke up thanks to her family insisting she keep living because she had a chance out of Andalasia. When Quentin woke up from her coma, she was in an isolated facility and was treated like a glass doll for a couple of weeks, which she hated more than anything else because of how much the staff were really coddling and being kiss-asses and really treating her with less respect than a child gets. But which she eventually learned to deal with and manipulate to her advantage as, she learned that most people in the facility treat her like a child to 'make her feel at home' or because they where genuinely frighten of what she could do. Which she definitely used against the facility's staff and in a pretty short amount of time, she learned she was very trapped with a less dangerous part of a cult and really had no way to escape with a third party involvement or a really good plan but, there was some other people with Quentin that were not the staff that almost seemed to be in a similar state to her own, who explained to that basically, they're stuck in this facility until the staff loses interest or when they die. Which, Quentin was not happy about and planned to escape until she received a visit from Crowley, who spoke to her through a mirror and asked what the situation was with the facility, to which, Quentin explained she was basically fucked because she won't be able to leave to which, Crowley said he'd help her get out and than left, which Quentin took as a sign he wasn't going to help her quickly. Then, a few days later she received another visit from Malleus, Lilia and Silver who said he was all over the news and was currently being searched for by most news sources for a scoop on the situation and looked for him because he had really worried them. Which Quentin scoffed at saying, "Sure. It's being blasted on the news that I'm missing after Overblotting, why the hell would you guy else be here?" Which ticked Lilia off who cupped her cheeks and told her, "Child, I understand you aren't used to having genuine relationships with others, but you don't get to talk like that when you almost died a few weeks ago and dissapeared to the rest of world, understand?" Which Quentin nodded at Lilia's sudden paternal talk. Then Quentin's daily routine was changed completely and she gain a little bit more freedom than that change became boring and that turned to weeks, to months and than something came up.
As the story goes on, more is learned about Quentin and her personality.
Prologue: Quentin is first seen making a comment about Crowley and his habit of doing whatever he wants while standing on the sidelines and later is surprised at Grim's overconfidence into getting into Night Raven College and putting out Kalim's butt fire after asking him to calm down and later calling Azul a kiss-ass.
She also agreed to go with the group to Heartslabyul due to Ace's insistence on her coming as a safety net in case things got bad. She spoke with Cater a bit after he speaks with the first years, then says she needs to leave early because her first class is really far away from here. Quentin is seen again after the delinquent Heartslabyul students run off, saying he is happy he didn't have to step in because they could defend themselves. Quentin doesn't do anything while the first year squad rejects Riddle's behavior, which angers Riddle when she says that he will kick his butt if he touches the first year squad because they're giving him criticism, and later yelled at by Riddle when the first years are kicked out which she does not take lying down and gets into a fight with Riddle about his treatment of his fellow dormmates saying it's emotional abuse, which she later leaves for after a bunch of Heartslabyul students gather around to watch and she sees Trey and Cater's face of fear. After Ace and Deuce lost and antagonizes Riddle until he Overblots, she helps the Heartslabyul student evacuate and then fights Riddle after being uncollared by Trey's magic.
Quentin agrees to let Heartslabyul help her dorm out and is impressed with Cater information gathering skills and compliments him for it. When the group runs into the Leech twins while investigating, she laughs at Floyd's comment about hide and seek, and later when the group is running from the Leech twins and when Grim asks who those two were, through her laughing she says in Andalasian that they're in the school's mafia. Then when the group visits Jack, and he says he won't be targeted Quentin somewhat figures out what is happening with the incidents, farther proved by Adahy, who was nearby Jack and said to Quentin he'll be busy for a while and he's sorry for that, but he got her a huge box of macrons to make up for it.
When MC and Grim are at Savanaclaw’s morning training Leona mentions afterwards Quentin called him to fill him in on her dorm’s situation in case the first years didn’t.
Quentin is also present when Grim demands to know to food situation for their dorm and calls Crowley a really unhelpful man for not thinking ahead and Grim easy to please after Crowley’s list of foods he’ll send if they put in the firewood. She also get MC’s Magicam number, and Ace and Deuce says they already have his. When Grim comments how Ace and Deuce doesn’t shut up, she says he has no right to speak because he’s no different. When the Ramshackle residents encounter Jamil and the Scarabia students, she’s defiantly surprised a bunch of people are here because nobody told her about it but still greet the Scarabia students nicely.
Chapter 5: First seen entering Yuu and Grim’s room after knocking, and comments about how cold it is with Grim adding onto it, and after Grim comments about Yuu staring at the mirror she agrees with him and asks the two to come down for breakfast at it’s getting cold. She is also seen with the first year squad at the start of the year when the group meets each other at Main Street she greets Ace and Deuce and later asks what Yuu means by dreams which Yuu says is nothing which Quentin doesn’t seem to believe. Quentin is later seen at the Dorm Leader meeting regarding the National Inter-High School Culture Festival, and is only seen making reactions to the others character, like when Azul describes Vil’s occupation and comments on his influence, which Quentin adds unto saying Vil’s so popular he probably has his own paparazzi in almost every news station, which gets a reaction out of Riddle. Later on, Quentin comments on Neige LeBlanche saying he’s the one person you’re bound to find out about if you have connection to the internet since his face is everywhere and it’s honestly starting to annoy her. Riddle comments that Quentin has already offered to help him with his work on the Festival when Azul offers his own help and comments Quentin won’t ask for ludicrious things like Azul will, which Azul says hurts him and is Quentin later seen sighing in annoyance at Idia complaining about being on stage. Quentin is next seen with Crowley, asking him to let go of his arm and let him eat his lunch. When Crowley explains to the first years why there’s such a big cash prize for the Vocal and Dance Championship, Quentin says it’s actually because they need to get the schools’ attention somehow and their all big companies so they have money to throw around. When Grim speaks to Yuu and Quentin about participating in VDC, Quentin while she doesn’t seem like it, agrees to do so. Quentin is next mentioned by Ace right after being beaten by Vil, asking if Quentin is the exception to some rule that all the dorm leaders have to be complete assholes, which Deuce seems to wonder as well. Quentin is later seen with the first years in the school’s gym while they are practicing, even being seen in the rhythmic cheering the first years on. When the first years are talking about Vil’s behavior and how Epel has been acting, Quentin comments that if what is going on is really happening from what she understands of the rumors, Vil is going to be in huge trouble. When Kalim and Jamil appear, she greets them decently well, and is greeted warmly by Kalim and greeted decently by Jamil. When Kalim unknowingly insults the first year’s dancing skills, Quentin says that is rather harsh. Jamil asks her about what she’s doing here if she’s not really doing anything, to which Quentin responds with she was asked to because they wanted moral support and to ask her something. After Kalim and Jamil dance with the first years, Quentin congratulations the group for their work and thanks Jamil and Kalim for helping the first years. Later on, when Kalim offers Jamil’s help despite Jamil’s own hesitance, Quentin offers to help Kalim with his schoolwork and Scarabia as well he will do it, which Jamil smugly agrees to before sighing about how Kalim set him up for this. When Azul appears to inform Jamil it’s his turn to help the teacher, Grim speaks with Yuu and Quentin about Scarabia and Jamil’s current status, which the dorm leader comments she hopes isn’t the case before Azul comes into the conversation saying it’s true, which Quentin comments is rude of him to butt in. Quentin also comments with how smug Azul is currently about the situation, means the situation of Jamil’s dorm not really liking him must be true. When Azul mentions money is more powerful then magic, Quentin is noticeably upset by this statement, despite not saying anything. When Grim comments on Jamil’s personality change, Quentin points out the same could be said for Riddle by Grim’s logic. When Azul offers Jamil a place in Octavinelle, Jamil refuses saying he’s honestly rather be in Ramshackle and Quentin comments she can’t see Jamil wearing Octavinelle’s dorm uniform too well. Quentin is next seen again in the gym encouraging the group, even being present in the rhythmic cheering. When the group is asked about if they’ve signed up or not, Jamil asks why Quentin didn’t tell them, to which she says been super busy helping out someone she knows who is really having a hard time, so she forgot. When Jamil describes Rook to the first years to help them find him for VDC, Quentin says to not worry much about the appearance of the guy since he sticks out like a sore thumb, which Jamil agrees to, and if they need help there is probably someone in the class who can help them. Ace mentions Quentin after the four give their performances on the audition day, asking if he will mind if they drop by Ramshackle to hang out, which the group does. Quentin is also mention in Rook’s letter, asking Ace and Deuce to bring him as well. Quentin is next seen with the first year squad at Pomefiore’s gate, and when Kalim asks the group what Quentin is doing here since he didn’t sign up Quentin says Rook gave him a cut on the arm for a message saying he and Vil needed to see her. After the Pomefiore students show up to fight the group Quentin is seen very ticked off and when one of the students throws a glove at the glove telling them the pick it up, Quentin burn it telling him she has no time for them and demands them to move. When the group ends up in Pomefiore’s lounge with two more students before they are hit from the back and knocked, to which Dorji Medusa appears and after asking what’s happening and getting a brief understanding of what’s happening agrees to help the group get to the ballroom saying he knows the other candidates aren’t dealing with this. When the candidates for VDC, Yuu, Quentin and Dorji come to the empty ballroom and Vil decides to speak up, Quentin is the first to speak, first calling him a pompous holier-than-thou narcissist in Andalasian and then calmly asking why he felt it was necessary for Rook to give him a cut on the arm and destroy his soft drink for which when Vil gives his explanation, Quentin is not happy but says nothing. When Grim calls out his, Yuu and Quentin’s presence despite aren’t explained yet, to which Crowley comes in and explains, which Quentin is so upset with the room says her aura changed to a scarier one and she starts muttering something angrily in Andalasian until a frighten Yuu snapped her out of it by asking what the matter was which got Quentin to switch back and apologize saying she’s just a little upset. Quentin then calls out Crowley and Vil for not asking her permission for this, which the two move on from until Grim calls Crowley out for it, which Crowley bribes the dorm with money for, which Quentin tells him that he isn’t going to save his skin by buying their approval, which then Vil speaks up for giving his and Rook’s money, Quentin still isn’t happy until Crowley brings up he’ll help with Ramshackle’s plumbing, and after a few minutes Quentin agrees under the condition the VDC members have to follow her rules and she reserves the right to deal with those who disrespect her, which Crowley and the VDC members agree to and saying she’s only doing it for Grim and Yuu’s sake. She calls Crowley a duplicitous scumbag in Andalasian as well, and when asked what she said by Crowley, she says she was talking to herself. Later, When the VDC members show up to Ramshackle dorm, Quentin is actually pretty polite with everyone. . . Except Vil, whom she is passive aggressive towards. Like when Vil walked into the building and said it was better than he expected, she comments that she’s glad to meet his expectations. When Deuce gives Trey’s gift to Quentin, saying Trey wanted to give Ramshackle something for dealing with Ace and Deuce, Quentin is actually seems pretty surprised at this and happily says she’ll figure out how to thank Trey for this later. Right after Vil say he’s going to confiscate it, Quentin passive-aggressively reminds him that this isn’t his dorm, and he is disrespecting her, which Vil says he’ll explain his reasoning when the group is in the lounge. After Vil searches everyone’s bag and gets to Rook’s and apologizes for invading his privacy, Quentin quietly mocks Vil’s hypocrisy but when Vil asks what she said she simply states she forgot to buy something, so she’ll need to get it later. After Grim asks Vil if those rules apply to him, Yuu and Quentin, to which Vil responds by saying he doesn’t care as long as it doesn’t effect the VDC members, Quentin sighs to herself. But, when Rook tries to defend Vil saying that wasn’t his intention, Quentin mutters how Rook is Vil’s kiss-ass and how that’s so untrue it makes her sick. Before Vil takes his phone call from his manager, he does ask for Quentin’s permission which she gives and sits down in the rocking chair, and appears to be listening in on the conversation, like Rook. Later on, Vil calls Yuu a manager, and Quentin a Co-Producer when he asks Yuu to start the music and Yuu seems confused on who he’s referring to. When Vil needs to show a video to the group but a Neige commercial comes on, Quentin calls it “Stan-Bait”. Later on when Vil seen speaking with Mira in Ramshackle, Quentin is seen nearby and simply says “Ah, of course.” When Vil and Epel have the first argument seen in the chapter, Quentin is noticeably on edge for and very alert when the fight starts. Quentin also steps in-between the two telling Vil to calm down because Epel grew up in a different place than he did and Vil needs to respect that, which than Kalim jumps in and simply encourages Epel to keeps dancing, which Vil later puts words in Kalim’s mouth saying Kalim agrees with Vil, but Quentin calls Vil out on putting words in Kalim’s mouth and calling out Vil’s standards of Epel is completely unrealistic and putting pressure on something he clearly doesn’t want, which Vil ignores. Rook mentions Quentin after the lesson is done, saying he’s excited to see what he’ll cook today. On the walk back to Ramshackle dorm, Quentin tells the group they did good work before the group starts to complain. Grim mentions Quentin when he comments how hungry he is, demanding he make food as soon as possible, which she agrees to in an joking manner. When Rook mentions if he’d try to protect Vil, he’d get stepped on, Quentin says Rook’s definitely a bottom, which gets a few comments from the characters. When the group starts to speak about about they didn’t like dinner, Jamil comments he thought Quentin’s cooking was pretty good, which Deuce agrees to, saying it’s not their fault the diets of the VDC members are so different. When the doorbell rings for Epel’s hometown delivery, Quentin is heard saying she’s coming from the kitchen and answers the door before the group does, and when the ghosts asks to set in Ramshackle dorm, Quentin says yes to. Jamil later asks if the boxes can be moved to the lounge, which Quentin agrees to. After Quentin gets a taste of the apple juice, Quentin’s face really lights up and seems really amazed and says Epel’s hometown is really skilled at their work, and says she can feel the blood, sweat, and tears put in by the town and is amazed at their work. Later on, when Vil announces the bedtime, Grim whispers if it applies to Ramshackle, Quentin says it doesn’t. When Deuce asks what a skincare routine is, Quentin it’s basically what you do with your skin, mostly focusing around the face. When Deuce comments about the so many steps, Quentin comments that this is without makeup, and with makeup it gets even more complicated. When Yuu and Grim hear Kalim practicing outside at night, they pass by Quentin who is putting away the apple juice in the kitchen and doesn’t see them passing by. Later on, Ace mentions Quentin saying she did her best for dinner, but he’s still hungry. After Vil beats up the first years and Ace, Deuce and Grim are paralyzed by Vil’s unique magic and before Yuu leaves, Quentin appears in the lounge passive-aggressively asking what has happened with an aura that Yuu thinks is super scary. Which Vil is about to speak up and say something before he loses the ability to speak, and then Quentin asks the firsts years what happened, which they tell her what happened and Quentin is visibly seen angry, with her Grim commenting her eyes are glowing in the dark. Quentin than closes her eyes, and asks Yuu to take Grim to their room and stay there for the night, which Yuu questions, which she says in a voice that sounds sympathetic and motherly with a sad smile that she doesn’t want anyone else to be in the crossfire of her animosity towards Vil disrespecting her. Which Yuu agrees to, even giving to choice to say, “Yes, Dorm Leader.” which seems to make Quentin happy. Quentin take Ace and Deuce to their rooms, after promising Deuce she won’t hurt Vil. On her way to the lounge, she encounters Jamil, who asks what’s happening and Quentin says she’s going to set up a silence barrier so she can let her feelings on Vil’s disrespecting everyone at VDC and wake anyone up, since she says she’s so close to hitting Vil. Jamil, after a few moments of silence, says he’ll turn a blind eye since she has no intentions of hurting Kalim, but he’s staying nearby to see what she can do, and incase she goes off the deep end, which Quentin thanks him for and says she owes him one for. Quentin then goes into the lounge, and Vil is able to speak, to which comments that was rude of Quentin to do, since that spell won’t let him speak or move, to which Quentin snaps back, saying it’s fitting on how he forces others to bend to his will because he’s insecure and doesn’t understand the meaning respect, which seems to hit Vil really hard. The two dorm leader get into an intense verbal argument, getting personal and revealing a lot about Quentin’s past and her time at Night Raven College. But eventually, Vil has a breakdown and starts to cry saying Quentin has no idea what he’s been through to get here, to which Quentin replies Vil hasn’t had to live as an Andalasian nobleman and see the true horrors of humanity can bring, so if anyone in this room, she deserves more pity than him purely on where she was born and the fact she’s standing at Night College right now. To which, Vil is silence for a while, says he had good intentions, to which Quentin at first denies, saying his actions don’t add up in the long run and he’s trying to BS his way out of the situation, but after more fighting, Quentin eventually gives up on questioning Vil’s intentions and Vil’s actions, and says she’ll give him one more chance to prove his intentions. She says he needs to change his behavior and treat the people around him better, but if he doesn’t, she’ll ban him from Ramshackle dorm and do everything in her power to make VDC a living nightmare for him like he’s done for the members. And then she breaks the barrier and tries to leave the area before Rook comes upon the scene and asks what happened, to which Quentin stops walking, turns to Rook and simply says in a menacing tone, “I was mad and yelled at Vil for pushing his limits.” which seems to frighten Rook. And she then leaves with Jamil in tow, who also seems a little frightened. After which, Rook is seen trying to comfort Vil, but is pushed away by Vil who goes to his room, visibly shaken. This event adds to Vil’s Blot indicator, as well as seems to shake Vil up. The next day in the ballroom, Kalim is the first to notice something is up with Quentin, which he talks about, and Ace, Deuce, Grim and Yuu agree on and the group asks what happened, to which Jamil says it should be discussed behind closed doors, and he’ll explain later, to which Grim and Ace then switches to the topic of Vil’s unique magic. Afterword that conversation, Quentin walks into the room with Vil and Rook not far behind. Noticeably, Vil words his sentences nicer, and doesn’t boss Quentin around, but regardless, he still gets into a fight with Epel. Quentin steps in at first, telling Vil to knock it off, to which Vil angerly tells her to shut up. And, for most of the fight, she is, though, the characters comment Quentin looks like she’s about to explode with animosity. Until Deuce rushes out after Vil scolds him and Ace adds fuel to the fire, which after Deuce leaves the room Quentin slams Vil into the large mirror, which scares those still in the room, and Quentin simply says, “I figured you wouldn’t change. After all, your insecurity is out of control and you don’t seem to have any means of controlling it. But, that’s fine. I’ll make you change. If I see or hear you went near my dorm without my explicit permission, I’ll send you to the nurse and Dorji’s temporary position will become permanent for a while. If you do anything like this again or I hear of anything like this, more than your nurse visits will increase. Are we crystal clear, Vil?” After which, she leaves the ballroom, with the others in tow. She comforts Kalim and everyone else and explains her reasoning about what she said, saying she won’t kill him and she was just really, really mad back there because she really scared Kalim and everyone else in the room. Later, Quentin is seen outside Pomefiore dorm with Yuu and Grim speaking with Deuce, handing Deuce a drink and listening to Deuce’s troubles before Kalim and Rook come to comfort Deuce, which she helps with in saying Deuce’s weaknesses can be his strengths if he tries to learn from them when Deuce asks what Rook’s advice means. Quentin also seen with Yuu and Grim comparing Ace and Deuce, to which Quentin says Grim, Ace and Deuce are all in the same boat in her opinion, which Grim angrily questions. She’s also mentioned by Vil, saying he’s already mad as doesn’t want to make the situation worse. Jamil also mentions Quentin, saying that the group already has a problem with Vil and Quentin being on bad terms. Quentin is later seen after the two week timeskip, and she definitely seem more relaxed than she once was, but noticeably not as happy as everyone else. When Vil mentions that it’s the principal’s doing that the group has uniforms for VDC, Quentin asks if Ramshackle had to pay for it, to which neither Crowley nor Vil answers, and Quentin says they definitely did, then. Quentin receives two tickets, and later says she invited Masawa because she wanted to thank him for something. Quentin is later seen outside the gates of Ramshackle dorm with Vil, who summoned the group. Quentin and Vil’s conversation is very strained, which Jamil notes, and Rook comments at least the two dorm leaders can talk to each other now, which is much better than before. During the first day of VDC, Vil comments that Ramshackle should see the festival and mutters something about how Ramshackle would be in the way, which Quentin menacingly asks what he said, to which Vil replies he didn’t say anything important. Quentin is then seen with Yuu and Grim touring the festival, holding Grim back from eating all the food saying she’s the one with the money. When the group visit the stage and encounter the Savanaclaw students, she greets the main Savanaclaw students warmly. When Jack comments on how he heard Yuu become and manager and Quentin became a co-producer, Quentin comments she didn’t have much of a choice, which Ruggie and Leona comment they know how that feels, which Grim then says Ramshackle can’t see the rehearsal because they’d be in the way. When Ruggie comments on how setting up the stage is basically job training, Quentin says she’s not sure about it all being job training. When Trey and Riddle appear, Quentin is first greeted by Riddle, thanking her for helping him out with some paperwork, which Quentin says the paperwork was nothing compared to other things she had to do for VDC. Riddle later invites Quentin alongside Yuu and Grim to tour the festival, which Quentin agrees to with her juniors. She gives Jack, Ruggie and Leona a goodbye, which is reciprocated. Quentin doesn’t help explain the fourth years with Riddle and Trey, but she does comment it makes sense in modern society. When touring the clubs, the group comes upon the science club’s station, Trey comments Rook should be in the literature club with Quentin, which Quentin says she disagrees with, saying Rook wouldn’t like the literature club as it is now. When Grim asks how science and a café make sense for a booth, Trey comments the science club is wearing there lab coats as uniforms, Quentin comments it’s basically a themed café in that case, which gets a chuckle out of Trey. After Riddle mentions the time, Quentin does subtly try to get her juniors to keep moving, which does work. When the group visits The Gargoyle Research Society, Quentin is given quick shot, which seems to be her thinking to herself. When the groups enter the Board Game Club and Grim comments on Idia’s behavior, Quentin tells Grim that’s Idia Shroud, a dorm leader and she works him him a lot. Idia doesn’t interact with her, but she is greeted very warmly by Ortho, who like everyone else in the group is called by their full name. While Trey questions how Idia’s simulation is truly a board game, Quentin praises it, saying that it’s pretty cool in her opinion. Ortho agrees with her, and offers it to her and Yuu before Trey turns it down, saying they don’t have the time for that right now. Later on, when the group enters the Mountain Appreciation Club, Floyd calls Quentin by her nickname, Stingray. Quentin also comments on Grim complaining about his nickname, saying Grim could have been named penguin or something worse. Quentin does comment on the club’s statuses, making a passing comment she thinks it’s strange two club are fine with just one member, and the Light Music Club isn’t fine for having more. When the group later check out the stalls and Grim sees a huge group of people outside the coliseum, Quentin says the big group of people are Vil and Neige’s weird and sometimes creepy fans, which both Riddle and Trey verbally agree with. Quentin is later greeted by Silver after he calls out Sebek for being rude to himself, and Quentin greets him back and politely thanks him for his work. After Trey comments about Royal Sword Academy’s presence and what it can do to the students, Quentin says she hopes nothing happens since she doesn’t want to deal with diplomatic issues which Trey agrees with. Later, when some Savanaclaw students pick a fight with three of the Royal Sword Academy students, with the group Quentin steps in and helps with the fight. After the battle, she and Trey ask if the three dwarfs are alright and apologized for the NRC student’ actions, which Dominic says they are fine and it’s okay. After Grim comments on how small the three are, Quentin and Grant tells Grim that’s rude at the same time. After Che’nya appears and Grim screams about a floating head, Quentin says the head has a name and Grim knows it. Later on when the group moves into another building and Yuu brings up Tsunotarou, Quentin is seen interested alongside Cater, even commenting on how she thinks it’s great Yuu has friends outside of the first year squad. When Yuu describes Tsunotarou and the group, minus Yuu, collectively figure out it’s Malleus Draconia, Quentin lets out a snort, which Yuu asks about, and Quentin says she must have eaten something weird. Later on the Ramshackle parts with Trey and Riddle to go see the VDC, Grim comments on the stage being complete, Quentin comments that it kind of needs to be for VDC to actually go on smoothly. When Vil approaches the group after Ramshackle is stopped by a member of the staff, Vil comments that Ramshackle has some nerve to be the last ones there, to which Quentin snaps back saying that Vil could have texted any of them if he wanted them to come earlier, which Rook then steps in and changes the subject matter. After Neige appears before the group and the group are talking about him, Grim comments on Jamil’s deceiving appearance comment, asking if he’s referring to himself, to which Quentin tells Grim to be nice. When NRC is called for their rehearsal and Vil mutters about him beating Neige, Quentin is seen with a serious face alongside Rook. After the rehearsal, Kalim calls out to Quentin, Yuu and Grim, asking how the performance was, to which Quentin responds to by saying she really liked and she thought was really good. After Grim responds to the reporter’s action with Vil, Quentin comments that Vil kind of needs to be like that, to which Grim says that’s not what he meant. When the group’s performance is posted online, Quentin congratulates them for being so popular, which Jamil then comments the video was mostly just Vil. When the group then wants to see RSA’s performance, Quentin says she knows a place where the group can sit, which the group agrees to go to, which turns out to be where Masawa and Dorji are sitting, saying they came to see the rehearsal since they have nothing better to do. When the group sees the dwarfs coming on stage, Masawa asks what a dwarf is, which Quentin responds is a type of fairy. When Ace, Grim and Jamil comment on how basic the performance is, Quentin says it’s cute in it’s own way. While Vil’s face turns dark, Quentin concurrently is seen holding her head like she’s in pain and then looks at Vil, and when she sees Vil’s face, she definitely seems panicked. After Vil excuses himself, Quentin runs off without an explanation, which worries most of the group, most notably Dorji after which then Yuu has their vision warning of what Vil is about to do. Kalim comments on Vil and Quentin’s departure, saying “they. . .” instead of “he. . .”. Quentin is later seen with Neige when Vil first arrives at Neige’s waiting room, which Grim comments Quentin was fast. She and Vil tensely ask each other what they’re doing which Neige than breaks up by praising Vil’s performance, which Quentin agrees with. But as the conversation goes on, Quentin seems to be getting more and more uncomfortable until Vil offers Neige the poisoned apple juice, to which Quentin advises Neige not to drink, to which Vil asks why she would say that, to which Quentin says Vil isn’t in his right mind and asks Vil if he really wants this, which Vil ignores and offers the drink to Neige once again before Rook interrupts and asks Neige to go back to the stage, saying a staff member needs him. To which Quentin says she’ll go with Neige and then takes his hand and runs off with a confused Neige out of the area. Later on, Quentin is seen on the magic carpet alongside Jamil, using wind magic to put space between Kalim, Grim, Rook and Yuu and an Overblotted Vil. After the group gets outside and asks why there’s no else in the coliseum, Jamil explains when Quentin came out with Neige, Jamil saw she was in distress and took a guess as to what was about to happen and asked Quentin to go find Dorji, Masawa and the first years, which she agreed to before Jamil then hypnotized Neige into taking everyone outside of the coliseum and when the people he asked for arrived had them evacuate the other people still left in the area, and asks Quentin to go with him to find the rest of their VDC group. Jamil comments on how the group shouldn’t have escalated the situation, which Quentin responds with a shrug and says she’s kind of given up on that since she’s been through Overblotting five times already, which Kalim adds unto saying he didn’t mean for it to happen. When the group decides to stall Vil so other more magical people could arrive to help, Quentin noticeably doesn’t make a comment about bringing Vil back to normal, but she is seen besides Dorji alongside Masawa, which Dorji says he’s kicked Vil’s butt before and he’ll do it again to prove Vil is wrong. When the battle is over and Vil is almost defeated and tells the group he’ll take down those with opposed him with him, Quentin is seen standing in-between Vil and everyone else, before Deuce tells the group to get down on the ground, which Quentin does do without a question. When Vil returns to normal, Quentin is seen nearby him. Not as close as Rook is, but the first person to Vil’s left that he sees. She is seen offering Kalim a pack of tissues for his tears, which Kalim does take. When Vil admits what he did wasn’t exactly great behavior and he’s not qualified to lead the group anymore, Quentin is the first to respond, saying Vil doesn’t have a option but to stay the leader of the group because changing leaders at this point would really be a waste of time since there’s not enough time for that on top of them having to fix the stage and everything else, which Rook adds to saying nobody got hurt. When Vil tries to, well, just get up Quentin tells him to not push himself or he’ll have the nurse and his dorm worrying about him for the next month. When Deuce talks about his unique magic and how he used it on some people who could use some magic, Jamil comments that he shouldn’t have done that, to which Quentin adds on she hopes it doesn’t come back to bite Deuce. After Deuce realizes he’s gotten his unique magic and asks Yuu for what he said since he doesn’t remember, Quentin congratulates Deuce for gaining a unique magic, saying it’s a big step in becoming a magician, or at least in Andalasian culture it is. When Malleus appears on the scene, Quentin is noticeably not as surprised as the rest of the group and is seen smiling and waving at the fae. When Yuu calls out to Malleus as Tsunotarou, Quentin isn’t surprised like the rest of the group, and alongside Grim walks up to Malleus and laughs, saying that’s one way to describe Malleus before Grim then makes a comment about Malleus’ horns, which is then shut up by Deuce before Grim could finish and Deuce comments Quentin really shouldn’t let Grim say such things, to which Quentin asks why she needs to before Ace pipes up to speak with Yuu. After Malleus is officially introduced to Yuu and Grim, and asks what exactly happened, Quentin speaks up saying Vil almost did something super bad, had a mental breakdown and then Overblotted, referring to Malleus as “Malleus-kun” when referring to him. Which freaks out the first and second years, even earning a few comments from them before Quentin says she used to be in the same class as Malleus. Malleus then refers to Quentin as “Quentin-san” and then asked what Vil almost did, to which Quentin responds saying Vil tried to kill someone via poisoning. Which gets a nod out of Malleus and him simply saying he didn’t feel anything over here, possibly because of Neige’s distraction. When Malleus casts a spell to fix the stage, Quentin isn’t as on edge as everyone else even messing around with some of the pieces going back into place, which earns her a comment from Ace saying Quentin really shouldn’t be messing around at a time like this and a comment from Malleus, calling her “Child of Andalasia” and asking Quentin to be careful. Like Rook, after Malleus’ spell is finished she thanks Malleus for fixing the stage saying she really owes him a lot, which makes Malleus smirk. Later on, Quentin is seen backstage with Yuu and Grim, first seen after Epel tries to step in for a tired Vil and Grim comment it’s impossible for that now and she says while she does agree with Epel on giving Vil some slack, but Epel doesn’t have that much time to suddenly learn the main role, which Vil agrees with, also adding he wants to be on the stage as long as possible which Quentin then says afterwards Vil needs to see a medic or she’ll make him, which Vil agrees to. After Yuu and Grim asks the team to do their best, Quentin says she’ll be cheering from the sidelines so do the group will do their best before the three Ramshackle members leave. Quentin is later seen on the sidelines with Grim and Yuu, voting for NRC which in the end still has one vote difference. After it’s announced that Royal Sword Academy won, Quentin is seen after Grim loudly cries about his dream of tuna, which Quentin’s reaction is then seen, with Quentin simply sighing and saying, “Oh well.”. When Neige and Vil’s groups are seen singing to Neige’s song, Grim asks Quentin if she’s recording this, Quentin is seen nodding to Grim’s question with a phone in hand. She is then seen last after VDC, agreeing with Grim when he says the dorm feels empty now that the VDC members are gone.
