If I take the road test and pass so I can get my license, does it mean that I need to get car insurance? My parents have car insurance, but if I get my license without any vehicles registered under my name, do I need car insurance? I want to get my license because I figure it would be useful to have/to know how to drive. But if I don't drive (and have my license), am I required to purchase car insurance? It would be pretty stupid if I am forced to pay car insurance even if I'm not driving and don't have any cars registered under my name.

So I recently got rear ended and the other party was at fault. I went to the appraiser that the all state agent had directed me to and had my car appraised. When I got my car appraised the appraiser wrote me a check then and there for the damages . Today I got a phone call from the insurance agent asking if my mailing address was correct and that they were going to mail me out a check for the damages that their appraiser had estimated. She never asked me once if I had already received a check for the damages.The appraiser made some kind of contact with allstate but I guess he never stated that he already had written me a check. Is it a crime if I cash both checks?

I was offered a job and I asked to review the companies health insurance information prior to accepting the job. I found out that for their group insurance it's broken down by age and gender. A man my age's employee contribution monthly would be $140 cheaper per month than mine just based on gender and not taking any lifestyle choices into consideration. Everything about this screams lawsuit to me but I've found some differing information on this.
