✰RYAN ROSS — headcanons for ryan with an anxious s/o !!!

✰warnings: mentions of anxiety, panic attacks, and just overall being stressed or having bad days. dont worry though, there’s comfort and lots of fluff!! 

— i honestly feel like despite being an amazing lyricist, ryan probably struggles with actually saying things to comfort someone or talk to them. 

— he’s probably dealt with how own anxiety and knows how it can hit randomly or what can bring it on and he knows how to deal with it

— that being said, he definitely doesn’t like to see his own s/o suffer from it as well. 

— if you’re expecting to have a bad day at work he’ll send you a message before you leave to cheer you up

— probably something simple like “have a good day at work, you got this :) -ryan” 

— he definitely will play you a song on the guitar if you ask him to, though he’s a little shy about it. 

— he sings super quiet at first but gets louder when he notices that you calmed down after hearing his voice.

— if you’re a dog person he let’s you play with dottie and cuddle her !!!

— if you get home from a really bad day you don’t even have to speak, he just sees it on your face and gives you a hug without saying anything. 

— once or if you start crying he’ll rub your back and just whisper in your ear to let it out :(( 

— if you need to rant he is an AMAZING listener. he may not contribute much to the conversation but he’ll listen and give advice if you ask.

— yeah he emphasizes the FUCK out of that lyric when he sings that song to you if you’re having a bad day. 

— i feel like he’d have a thing for playing with your hair to get you to fall asleep if you’re struggling. like he’ll have you lay your head on his lap and he’ll absentmindedly run his hands through your hair and scratch your scalp while reading or something

— now if your anxiety is REALLY bad to the point where you have a panic attack he is so quick to action

— he knows better than to just tell you to ‘breathe’, he’ll actually guide you to breathe with him and then make you do grounding techniques to calm down

— he doesn’t like to hold you too tightly when you’re having them because he doesn’t want to suffocate you, so he’ll lightly wrap his arms around you from behind and rest your back on his chest

— once it’s over he’ll tighten his grip a little more and try to talk to you about what happened, though dosn’t push you too hard if you don’t want to talk about it. 

— he probably cooks your favorite meals if you’re having a bad day and just wanna eat your comfort foods, like he’ll have like recipes and stuff written down in a little book or in his notes app and look at them whenever he notices you aren’t feeling well.

— if he notices you’re stressed with something he’ll offer to help you finish it or will do it for you

— nighttime is always the best time for the two of you. he’ll sing you to sleep if you’re really tired and upset and then will stay up for a while later to make sure you’re alright

— if you aren’t as tired or have too much on your mind he’ll talk to you about anything and everything until you eventually fall asleep. like, the two of you will have conversations debating children's show for HOURS if it means getting your mind off of whatever is bothering you

— overall he’s a very attentive and caring bf who may not have a lot to say but he will go far and beyond to make sure you’re ok !!!

Quinn, Soot, Clement: societal priest gender. not much more to it

Margo: solidly in the third gender camp

Benison: this ones tricky cuz of hanheppi gender rules but benison is nonbinary in the sense that her identity falls outside the constructs of what hanheppi society deems the binary, i guess. basically she wants to keep using he/she pronouns even if they dont fit her job. which is weird and most people don't get it. still, she's more girl than not-girl, i think. though what that means in hanheppi society is still a bit iffy.

Atchkie: happy gender :) smiling gender :) they just don't see the point in being locked into categories they don't see as mutually exclusive. not that they've ever had to explain that, Mottlesong is a pretty fluid place so ppl don't tend to question what you call yourself (unless you were born instead of spawned but thats a whole different thing)

Bella-Bonnie: Actually just fully a woman, he just likes he/him pronouns.

Toasty: Trans masculine nonbinary. a Guy but not a Man

Benbeck: too fluid to pin down, gender changes too fast so uses she/he/it as a catchall. doesn't use they cuz she thinks it's a "lame cop out pronoun"

Was fooling around with the concept of a WoT modern AU and ended up with a kind of breakdown of characters for adaptation purpose that was quite interesting:

Egwene: ambitious overachiever who got burnt out as a teen, never realized and has never stopped since. Sensible and resilient, but stressed to a degree. Hides it well, especially to herself. Doesn't know when to stop and not overextend herself. Strong sense of justice. She will protect the people under her care no matter what

Nynaeve: her temper is her greatest foe. Struggles to consider a POV other than hers but because she loves you she will put aside the fact that you are wrong. Stubborn and impulsive with zero self-awareness. Will never give up on you and there is nothing that will prevent her from caring. Is the one you want on a roadtrip if you don't mind the occasional commotion she accidentally started

Mat: bit of an edgelord and plays up the edgelord bit. Doesn't have a single goal in life except making money and enjoying himself. Has war tactics as special interest. Will joke and complain, but always help, even strangers, even at great cost for him. Is a magnet for people needing help

Perrin: quiet but a lot is happening inside his mind. Asks himself too many questions and tends to get stuck in his doubts. Solid, devoted and loving, even if he struggles to see himself as such. Sees himself as simple but is remarkably deep. Can be a Mr Grump

Rand: reactive, as a consequence self-isolating. Takes everything personally although he tries to project detachment. Fools no one but his emotions tend to be contagious so he badly needs people with him. Wants to do what is best and puts too much pressure on himself

Moiraine: trust issues. Will not ask for help until she is dying in a ditch. Passive aggressive but genuinely believes in you. Looks detached and in control, but has a short temper and is wracked with doubts. Is tired, doesn't know how to give up. Will be there when you need it most

Siuan: very smart. Is used to be in control and worked very hard to be in control. Down-to-earth and does not tolerate fools. Doesn't old a grudge although she will curse you. The one you want to be in a desperate situation with because she will just not throw in the towel and has a mind for problem-solving

Lan: reliable and caring on the outside, absolute mess on the inside. Will not ask for help, even when the problems become yours. Terrible coping mechanism. Ideal travel companion, especially when the travel is pretty shitty because he will get you through the soldiering on

Thom: weird absent uncle. Dates questionably younger women and disappears sometimes but will look after you when he's there. The one to call for help in a weird questionable situation if you don't want to be judged. If you don't care about being judged call Moiraine and Lan

Elayne: grew up in a very different world and as such can be oblivious to what the reality of the world is. Incapable of gauging danger correctly and as a consequence is absolutely fearless. Can be condescending, but caring and wants to do what is good for the people around her

Aviendha: chill lesbian sports girl. Earnest and devoted. Of few words. Gets bossed around far more than one would expect and doesn't really fight back which is why she makes quick friends with people who kick up a storm

Min: girl who seemed to be very free-thinking and independent on first meeting, but ends up in a conforming mold and you're not quite sure if this is really a choice or she just hung up with people who put her back in what they deemed her place. Very resourceful and friendly

Cadsuane: dopest grandma. Has had the most outrageous life. Mean old bat, but has the living experience that makes the meanness worthwhile. Picks up gadgets and latest technologies line no other although she complains about it

Verin: chill old nerd who enjoys the good simple stuff in life. Seems like a dotty aunt but is actually quite perceptive and sharp when needed. Dont act clever with her: if you think she can be taken for a fool you will lose

Elaida: is supposedly well-intentioned but is so thoroughly trapped in her point of view that she cannot see how wrong she is and how dire the situation is. Always extra and anxious, which is no explosive cocktail

i do think that jack thompson ends up with four lovely, smart, beautiful, opinionated, mercurial daughters whom he loves and adores more than anything in the world and who are all absolute pistols. the people who dont know him well are confused by all this. the people who do know him think its hilarious and also karmic.

i have headcanons about all of the daughters' names, but the two i think are important/funniest are one of his middle daughters, legal name dolly - his wife really wanted to name her dorothy (after her mother? after her maiden aunt? whatever) with dottie as a nickname and he balked and refused without explaining why.

and theres his youngest, margaret danielle. they call her marge or maybe margie, and when peggy found out in the hospital after she was born she didnt know whether to slap jack or hug him.

Gale told Dot about his condition within the first few hours of knowing eachother. Dotty has absolutely no sense of monetary value so she was happy to help him

Dotty hates being alone. In the first few days of traveling together everyone would keep to themselves but Gale, camp cook, would be out in the common space. Dotty would usually sit with him at the campfire, either reading or tinkering or making idle conversation

Gale and Dotty are both very cosmopolitan in their tastes and comforts. They love luxury, good food, good wine, dressing well, shopping, entertainment. Theyre not used to “roughing it” in the way the other companions are, and bond over the loss of luxury in their situation. They would absolutely get sidetracked at the spa together

Theyre overly competitive about lance board. They keep a tally of wins. They take it very seriously.

I hc that Dotty made the spell spark equipment for Gale. Gift giving is her love language so once they got the spell spark staff she crafted the rest of the set for him to match

Theyve been a couple since the teifling party, though they couldnt do much about it because of Gale’s fear of “exciting” the orb. Theyd know eachother for like 6 days at that point

Additionally i think i got the “last night alive scene” 12 days into the adventure so theyd only known eachother for a little more than an in game week when Gale told her he loved her

I dont think Dottys cousin liked Gale much when they first met bc he could sense the wizard hubris rolling off of him. But given enough time and Gale heaping praise on to Dot he starts to warm up to him. Then he finds out about the orb, and the godhood thing and tries to get rid of him again

Gale learning infernal to impress Dottys mother. I feel like Gale does great with moms. Like hes the friend your mom likes more then you energy.

Dotty loves Gales mother and Tara (and finds them intimidating)

After finding out Dottys given name Gale is insistent on using it. Dotty isnt the biggest fan of that, shes been Dotty longer then shes been Dipti. They find a happy balance eventually where he will occasionally call her by it, usually are her family or when speaking infernal

uhhhhh. hi take some post-experiment headcanons for the wilds girls .^.

they have a groupchat where the title never stays the same, they are constantly changing what its called and the pfp. they usually have nothing to do with each other.

they all live in random places across the country but they’re always travelling and staying at each others apartments/houses to the point they still wear each others clothes because they always take clothes to leave

shelby and toni move to nyc where toni plays for the new york liberty wnba team and shelby is a musical artist who does lots of charity for queer youth foundations. they are quite the famous couple

dottie ends up doing a lot of travelling, more than she expected to be doing. but when they leave the island she realises that shes only ever lived in texas and she really just wants to see the world, so she does.

fatin and leah move to seattle, they’re a lot more lowkey then the others, surprisingly, but they wanted a simple life out of the fame. doesnt mean they dont have a fucking awesome beach-house in los angelos though.

martha moves to a place in pretty much the middle of no-where, she becomes a veterinarian who goes out and hunts a lot. ironic, but she doesnt kill what she wont eat

nora moves to somewhere quiet, she becomes a science professor who teaches brain science. inspired by the experiment, she wanted to get to the route of where gretchen originally was coming from

rachel does become a carpenter. after she talked with leah, she realised that being a carpenter seemed really true to her. so she runs her own carpentry business somewhere more progressive.

before they really started their lives they actually lived together for a few years, and god do they miss it sometimes. they didnt really have their own rooms either, most of the time if they werent all dogpiled on the living room floor, they were squished into shelby and toni’s bed.

fatin and shelby had sleepovers where they talk about their girlfriends and painted eachothers nails and would always drag dot into it somehow

theyre all super affectionate with each other, to the point no one outside of them knows whos dating who. and they find it really funny

Shadowheart: Dotty kind of imprinted on her like a duckling lol. Shes who Dotty would consider to be her first friend on the adventure. Being friends with Dotty has definitely instilled the ‘mom arm’ instinct in Shadowheart bc Dotty (the rogue) has extremely low perception and walks into traps constantly. They basically walk around w Shadowheats hand on the back of her shirt to point her in the direction of things that need disarming

Lae’zel: i dont think Lae’zel really warmed up to Dot until the end of act one. She thought Dotty was weak in body and will and that she was probably gonna die early and stupidly and took up a begrudging protector roll with her. its not till everything that goes down a the crèche that they really become friends and Dotty proves that shes someone that can be relied on. Also did a big class change in act three where Dotty took fighter lvls and I hc that she asked Lae’zel to train her

Karlach: I dont have Karlach in my party often but she and Dot are definitely chaos “let me shoots this apple off your head blindfolded” friends. Drinking buddies for sure. Karlach calls her Shortie 💙

Astarion: its very “im the only one allowed to bully you” energy from Astarion. Dotty is kind of exactly the person he hates. Too emotional, too naive , too much of a bleeding heart. He finds her extremely annoying at first but possibly stupid enough to run his little scheme on if she wasnt so head over heels for Gale (ugh). He wants to hate her, but shes so infuriatingly considerate and nice. Being mean to her would be like kicking a blind puppy. Its no fun if she doesnt see it coming (he says even though he is a bit protective of her). I also love the idea of them eventually becoming in laws bc Astarion is so her cousin’s type lol
