So in Only Tea, Gatsby keeps his silly accent for some of the song, but it slips off at other parts. Some could call this Jeremy slipping up. But I, the one who has listened to this song on loop since before its official release, has decided it is not. Aha!

He only kinda has it at the beginning. It’s an emotional moment, he’s mostly alone. He gradually picks up the accent as he comes closer to nick, and as he tries to calm down. Every time he starts to get emotional you can see it start to drop. Generally he picks it right back up, but you can catch the slips. Especially when he’s in the really slow part, you know the one. It’s just so AHHHHHHHHHHH GREAT ACTING AHHHHHHHHHH

What I’m trying to say here is that the voice, the posture, all of it, is part of his persona. A persona he’s only built to keep himself together. When he tries to pull himself together, that’s what he goes to. The persona has to fall though, which is why the accent lessens when he’s alone, or beginning to fall apart. So yeah :)
