— big sister duties
pairing: kyra cooney-cross x reader
synopsis: harper is the best wingwoman
warnings: i’m iffy on this but fuck it we ball
୧ ‧₊˚ 🌈⋅ ˚ ༘ ೀ⋆。˚
you sat attentively with a handful of children at a blue plastic table, paints and messy fingers surrounding you. you had been in charge of the finger painting portion of the rotating activities for the past hour and it was safe to say you were having a great time.
you smiled at the giggles coming from two of the children that sat across from you as they painted their names with pink, green and yellow paint. to your left sat little harper gorry, her blonde hair in a braid that had slowly gotten messier through the day. you tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear and look at how she’s going writing her name.
your eyes widen in shock at the sight of her first name painted in orange on the page “harper! that’s so good” you praise
she gives you a small smile “kyra help me learn” she says, still focused as she begins to paint the ‘g’ in her surname “we did it on the weekend”
your curiosity perks at the name you don’t recognise. you knew katrina and clara well, having seen them time and time again when they’d drop off and pick up harper but you can’t ever recall hearing of a kyra.
“who’s kyra?” you ask, dipping your finger in some red paint
“my big sister” harper answers easily, completing the letter ‘o’ with a smile.
you quirk a brow. you weren’t aware that katrina had two daughters since she hadn’t mentioned it before, but you suppose there was no real reason for her to if her other little girl was primary school aged.
you dip another finger in some white paint “she sounds like a very good big sister”
“she is!” harper exclaims, looking to you “she does my hair and gives me piggy back rides whenever i don’t wanna walk anymore” the young girl tilts her head as she talks, admiring her work whilst she tells you about her older sister.
smiling, you wipe your pointer finger off and dip it in a small pot of green paint “that’s what good big sisters do”
harper sends you an affirmative nod as she paints the last three letters of her name, earning a small cheer and high five from you when she holds her paper up proudly. you quickly snap a quick photo for the weekly kindy newsletter before ensuring that harper and the other kids all have clean hands as you send them off to their next activity.
a week later you’re doing drop off greetings when harper runs in, her little raincoat dripping on the floor as she tries to shrug it off. you smile and help her unbutton it, handing it up on her coatrack when a disheveled looking woman pushes open the door.
she looks to be around your age, her hair is pulled back into a high messy bun and she’s dusting the rain off of her freckled cheeks “harper you can’t run ahead like that” her australian accent is prominent and she zips open harper’s butterfly backpack, pulling out a piece of paper.
she seemingly notices you standing there and pauses to just stare at you before offering her hand “hi, i’m kyra”
kyra. as in harper’s kyra. as in the kyra you had been thinking was a pre-pubescent girl for the past week.
since that day fingerprinting kyra had come up more and more with harper telling you different stories about things her and harper got up to together. not once did she mention that kyra was an adult and not a kid.
“y/n” you say, shaking her hand “harper’s talked about you a few times”
kyra chuckles whilst putting harper’s backpack down “she’s talked about you too. speaks very highly of your fingerpainting abilities”
“kyra!” harper exclaims whilst holding out a hand expectantly “painting please”
she hands the roller up piece of paper over before taking out her waterbottle and hanging up her bag on the hanger. harper unrolls the paper and shows you proudly, a wide smile on her little face “look miss y/n!” she says to gain your attention “this is you, and this is me, and this is kyra” she points to each painted person “kyra’s wearing red ‘cause she plays for ars’nal”
you raise your eyebrows “that’s very good harper! do you want to put it in your bag for safe keeping?”
harper shakes her head “no, you keep it”
“don’t you want to keep it at home so kyra can see it too?”
“kyra doesn’t need a painting she sees me all the time” she says as she shoves the paper into your hands “mama says sometimes too much”
you can see kyra roll her eyes in your peripheral before harper runs off to the other kids, plopping herself down onto the floor to play with another little girl named sarah.
“mini said there’s a sheet i have to sign?”
“mini?” you question
“katrina” the australian clarifies “we call her mini cause y’know” she waves her hand at about katrina’s height whilst giving you a small smile.
you nod and grab the clipboard from the admin desk nest to you “right” you laugh, handing kyra the papers.
“just harper’s name, your name and number and then your signature”
she fills the form out easily and hands it back to you before tugging on the front of her coat “min– katrina, and clara have some busy mornings coming up with getting ready for the new baby and everything so i’ll be dropping harper off a few times” kyra explains easily.
“okay i’ll let our admin staff know”
you send her off with a smile and a small wave, blushing slightly when you se ever look back at you through the door before walking off.
over the next month you become very aquatinted with kyra. you learn that she does in fact play for arsenal and the australian national team, that she sneaks chocolate into harper’s lunch and that she cannot parallel park for the life of her.
one morning she’d run in late with harper on her back, dressed in her full arsenal training kit and shooting you an apologetic look when you mention the way she’d thrown her car in park. she’d blushed and hastily signed harper in before kissing the top of her head and running out the door with a wave.
“kyra thinks you’re very pretty” harper had said whilst watching her get into her car “do you think kyra’s very pretty?”
harper’s big brown eyes had stared up you innocently as she awaited your answer. you had made the fruitless attempt to fight off the blush dusting your cheeks, trying to hide your surprised expression from the young girl “yes i do think kyra is very pretty”
she giggles and pats the side of your leg before running off to find her friends to play with. you don’t have time to dwell on harper’s strange reaction before another mother and her little boy named ethan walks in. he loudly recalls his weekend to you, boasting about getting to watch chelsea play whilst taking off his coat and following you into the classroom with kyra on your mind.
you aren’t doing drop off greetings the morning harper comes barrelling through the door with kyra not far behind. you can hear a quiet commotion in the hall, kyra seemingly protesting whatever harper is doing.
“harper” she hisses “stop it”
harper stomps her foot “do it now! do it now!”
your back is turned to them as you set up a cut and paste activity for the morning, the pair’s voices getting closer. your move around the table to ensure you’ve got the right amount of everything for each kid you’re expecting when you’re interrupted by some knocking on the wall.
you look up to see harper beaming whilst gripping kyra’s hand for dear life, the latter giving you a tight lipped smile as her cheeks go pink. you check your watch and glance back to the pair curiously. they’re earlier then usual and kyra is once again dressed in her arsenal training kit with harper’s backpack slung over her shoulder.
“hi guys! bit early today, aren’t we?” you greet whilst smiling “is something the matter?”
“kyra has something to ask you!” harper almost yells, dragging kyra in front of her and then giving her a shove before going back towards the bag rack.
she’s like a deer in headlights. her brown eyes are blown out wide and one hand is frozen on harper’s bag strap. she purses her lips and looks behind her, seemingly looking for harper, before sneering and turning her attention back to you.
“you okay kyra?” you ask mildly concerned. she’s shifting her weight from one foot to the other and is looking anywhere but you, seemingly interested in the animal abc’s hanging on the wall.
“yeah, yeah i’m good! just uhh” she draws out “just waiting”
you smile and your brows crease “waiting for what?”
“for harper to stop being nosy” she jerks a thumb over her shoulder and harper’s little face pops out from behind the door frame
you kiss your teeth “harper go see miss ella at the desk, she’s got a surprise for you”
“okay!” harper says as she scurries off, leaving you and kyra alone.
kyra releases a breath and turns back to you “thanks”
the smile remains on your face as you move from desk to desk, your curiosity growing as kyra steps further into the room “what are you doing this saturday?” she asks nervously, fiddling with the ring on her right middle finger.
you stand and turn towards her, the multi coloured construction paper crinkling in your hold. you bite your lip in an attempt to suppress a smile “nothing, why?”
“i was wondering if maybe you’d like to get lunch with me? i’ve got training in the morning but uhm, i’m free after that. if it works for you”
your hands drop in front of you “i’d love to”
“okay! great! i do have to go but i’ll be picking harper up this afternoon”
“doing the double shift today? that’s new” you joke with her, walking past her to put the left over paper away.
kyra shifts on her feet again “i wasn’t sure i was going to ask you this morning so i told mini i’d do drop off and pick up”
you can’t help but smile at kyra’s planning, finding it endearing that she was so nervous to ask you out. you check your watch out of habit and your eyes widen before leaning over and taking harper’s bag off the footballer “you’re going to be late”
kyra’s eyes also widen and she hustles out the door, patting harper on the head “harps i’ll see you later, please eat your sandwich” she says, her eyes pleading as she looks at the mischievous little girl standing behind your legs “i’ll see you later, too” she says lowly, a blush present on her face.
you nod and wave her off shyly, blushing when she looks back again like she did that first time. you hang harper’s backpack up on the rack and grab out her lunch to put in the fridge.
“kyra wouldn’ stop talking ‘bout you! you don’t even understand” harper says dramatically, still gazing out the glass door before turning to you “miss y/n are you and kyra girlfriends now”
your eyes widen as you direct harper back to the classroom, waving off ella at the admin desk as you go “no harper we aren’t girlfriends”
“what a shame” she says as she sits down at the dollhouse in the corner “maybe if you were kyra would stop talking ‘bout you”
“harper!”

sick of the sun || katrina gorry x clara markstedt x teen!reader ||
you pass out at practice.
the weather would have been perfect if you weren't playing football. summer breaks were usually never so nice for you. the sun had been shining brightly all day with the temperature steadily rising throughout. you were careful to stay hydrated, but it didn't feel like it was nearly enough. your head had been absolutely pounding for the better part of an hour, and you weren't even halfway through training.
"alright ladies, take a couple of laps, and then we'll head in for film," the coach announced. you let out a big sigh in relief as you stood up. katrina and clara were both behind you in the cluster of teammates. you hated running with the group, so you didn't mind starting a bit faster or earlier to keep ahead. it was better to be early to the film sessions and get a good seat anyway.
you did well to keep ahead for the first lap easily. it was as you neared the midway point for your last one that trouble arose. at first, it was a little stumble. katrina didn't even notice it initially. with clara's head clear above everybody else's she could see the way you started to stumble before you fell down.
clara would have loved to claim getting to you first, but she had just barely been beaten to you by harper. since you had moved in with clara and katrina for the season, you had become like a big sister to the smallest aussie. you loved living with them, it was your favorite part of being at west ham. they treated you like you were one of their own, never letting you forget that you'd always be taken care of.
"harper, baby, i need you to move away from (y/n) for a moment," katrina said as she tried to separate the two of you. instead of letting her come closer, harper started crying as she hugged you tighter. "harper, we need to get her inside. come on, i'll hold your hand and we can stay with her in the trainer's if you'd like."
"not leaving her," harper mumbled sadly through her tears. katrina looked at a loss for what to do. each time that she tried to move the young girl away from you, harper broke into a fit of tears. clara tried her best to comfort katrina, but the swede was terrified for you.
"she's moving." clara nudged katrina, who looked down at you just as your eyes began to open. without warning, clara lunged forward and pulled you into a tight hug. you had no clue what was going on, but you weren't going to push clara away. it was obvious to you that she needed this, and you were more than happy to let her have it. she had comforted you countless times since you had begun staying with them.
"guys, come on, she needs to get to the trainer's," katrina said. you could tell that she didn't want to have to tell them to get off of you, but it was necessary. clara sighed and pulled harper off of you as she got up. katrina helped you onto your feet, and you were comfortably sandwiched between the two older women as they walked you to the trainer's.
there wasn't really anything their tests could pinpoint wrong with you. it was pretty obvious as soon as you got in there that you had been overheated and exhausted. the trainers got you sitting on one of the uncomfortable little check-in benches with an iv of electrolytes and a couple bottles of water. you had to finish all of it before they'd let you head over to the cafeteria for lunch.
"is (y/n) having a baby?" harper asked as she settled comfortably onto your lap. you tried to offer her a drink of one of your waters, but katrina and clara both silently scolded you for it.
"what? no!" you hadn't meant to immediately panic and get a bit flustered, but you felt like that question had come out of nowhere.
"(y/n) isn't having a baby. why do you think she is harps?" katrina asked. she was trying so hard not to laugh as she looked between your panicked expression and clara's very expressive rollercoaster of emotions.
"she's got a tube like clara had at the hospital," harper said as she reached for your iv line. everybody relaxed a bit, but clara honestly looked a bit shaken up even as the four of you made your way to get something to eat.
unsurprisingly, they kept a close eye on you for the rest of day. you were excused from the gym session and sent to look over different strategies. it was boring, and by the end of the two hour gym session, you swore that all of the words were melting together and forming new words. still, you persisted until clara came and got you to get ready to go back home.
"alright ladies, it is nap time!" katrina said dramatically with a clap of her hands. harper started to groan and drag her feet until she saw you very comfortably lay down on the sectional with clara. "are we all aware that we have beds to sleep in?"
"couch naps are, um, chef," clara said proudly. you bit your lip to hold in your laughter, having tried to teach clara some of the slang that you'd been learning on the internet.
"chief, clar, it's chief," you corrected. clara brushed it off, but you could see the pink hue to her cheeks anyway. "just standing over there by yourself and join us. you can lay on the other side of harper."
"alright, fine, but just so i can keep an eye on you." despite katrina's words, you knew that she really did want to join all of you. the couch was decently sized, but it was still a bit cramped. however, you liked to see it as an opportunity for everybody to get in close and cuddle. besides, it wasn't nearly as cramped as it would be if kyra, charli, and macca were there with you. that was like playing human tetris, but you still loved it.

Misophonia
W.C.- 2.7k
Happy birthday to meeeeee
——————
It was no secret in the world of women’s football that you and Kyra Cooney-Cross were everyone’s unofficial little sisters. The younger of the two, you, had been moved up from the Arsenal academy at the same time that Kyra joined, and the unfamiliarity of the new team that you were suddenly thrown into made you two bond fast. Really fast.
Within 5 minutes of meeting the other, you had managed to plan at least 4 pranks to perform on the girls. Through Kyra, you also became much closer to the aussies of the team, just a sort of natural consequence of hanging around the Aussie all day. She was like your older, but just as mature as you, sister.
By month 3 of knowing each other, you and Kyra had managed to find every single button to press to make the other go completely mad. For Kyra, the main thing that set her off was when you tapped your feet against the floor repeatedly. For you it was whenever anyone made any type of noise with their mouths, with the obvious exception of speaking.
It just made you so irrationally mad, especially when someone was chewing all up in your ear, the sound so revolting that you often shouted for them to get away. Most of the team had learned their lessons already and knew not to even try to chew loudly near you, as you’d put your headphones on and ignore them for most of the day.
Kyra however, being the annoying little shit (lovingly) that she was, continued to do it every single second that she could, her favourite being when she knew that you couldn’t do anything about it, like in meetings.
She’d sit in the seat right behind you, leaning her head forward so that her chin would rest against your shoulder, and start to snack loudly on a granola bar or smacking her gum. The only thing you could do was sit there and take it, clenching your fist and wondering what it was you’d send in the text to Mini later that evening.
When Kyra would get told off by her team mom later that night she always looked at you, moving her thumb over her throat, telling you that you were dead.
But yet she kept on doing it, and you kept on telling Mini, it happened so often in fact that you too created a special bond with the older woman, her becoming a somewhat mother to you too. You always joined in on their facetime calls, Harper greatly appreciating you too.
Mini liked that Kyra had someone to goof around with at Arsenal, even if it did happen to be a 16 year old kid.
And as much as you liked and worked well with Kyra, not a single adult at Arsenal thought it was a good idea for you two to live with each other, no matter how much you begged and pleaded with them. Instead you were sent to live with Beth and Viv, whilst Kyra got her own apartment. That didn’t stop you from having sleepovers once a week however.
—------
Kyra breathing loudly directly beside your ear is the first thing you notice as you wake up from your nap in the community room at Arsenal, all groggy and confused, yet already annoyed by the girl’s incessant need to irritate you.
“Man, get the fuck out my ear!” Your voice is all scratchy and deep as you shout at the other girl, annoyance at her actions showing clearly on your face. More than a few heads snap up to look in your direction, quickly looking away when they notice the situation you find yourself in, many of them already knowing what the Aussie was doing.
“Awe is wittle baby Y/n a bit cranky from their nap?” Kyra antagonizes, trying to fuel the fire that was sure to start if she continued.
“You do remember that I know where you live? I can easily smother you in your sleep.” The girl’s knew to separate the two of you when the threats started flying, knowing that it could end with you two on the floor, wrestling or trying to strangle the other.
Alessia put her arm around a smiling Kyra’s waist, pulling her away from you even as she continued to breathe loudly, annoying you all the way from across the room. Viv sat down next to you on the bean bag, looking slightly irritated at your little outburst. She knew it wasn’t really your fault, but you’d been working with her on how to regulate your feelings.
“Y/n, we don’t threaten our friends, even when they’re being annoying. How about you go and apologise to Kyra and we’ll go get you some ice cream?” The dutchie was one of your many adoptive mothers in the squad, one of the more prominent ones as she knew exactly the pressure put on you as a young superstar in the making. She just wanted to help, often doing so by coming over with dinner for you and Kyra when you have your sleepovers, making sure that you didn’t trash your diets too much.
Looking down to the floor as you walk over to the older girl, she smiles at you mischievously like she knew exactly what it was you were doing. She knew that you’d been forced by your mom to apologize to her and she was enjoying the process of you going through all the stages of grief before getting to her.
Looking her in the eye, she sees the playful hate in your gaze, she already knew that you didn’t hate her but instead having to apologize for something that she caused.
“I’m sorry Kyra” Lowering your voice, she sees you look down at her in amusement. “I hope you know that I’m only doing this for the ice cream.” The Australian gasps in mock shock at your statement, but mostly at the fact that you’re allowed to get ice cream when she isn’t.
“VIV?! Why is Y/n getting ice cream and not me?” She catches the attention of the entire team with her bold accusation, most if not all of them rolling their eyes at her actions.
“Because Y/n doesn’t start fights, and she’s apologizing for threatening you.” Viv joins the others in rolling their eyes, taking hold of your shoulders as you make your way over to her, pulling you into a side hug.
With your backs to the young Aussie, neither of you notice the way she’s rushing towards you two, ready to absolutely throw herself onto you. She comes in with an awkward angle, her legs wrapping around both you and Vic’s waists, her arms locking around your necks, nearly choking you both out. Her head slots into the space between you and Viv’s heads.
Luckily enough for every Arsenal women’s fan ever, there’s a photographer there to capture the looks of absolute horror on you and the Dutch woman’s face and the unignorable grin on the Australian’s.
“Kyra Cooney-Cross get off right this second or I swear to god I will contact Katrina personally.” Viv comes off more than a little threatening, her voice deadly calm as she speaks to the younger girl. Kyra frowns playfully and slides down you and Viv’s excessively tall bodies, her feet touching the floor after a few seconds.
“What do they feed you dutchies? You need to stop being so tall, it’s annoying.” The short girl looks at you angrily when you pat her head like she was some sort of dog, waiting for a treat. She slaps your hand away when it comes down to pet her again and the only response she gets is a shrug from you as Viv drags you away to her car.
Only minutes later Kyra’s phone pings with a notification from instagram, seeing the ‘yourinstagram tagged you in a post’ had her stressing out. When she looked at the story you had tagged her in, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes, it was a selfie of you and Viv with ice creams in your hands, you with the biggest smile ever on your face and Viv looking slightly fed up with you.
The caption you’d typed out was ‘revenge is best served cold, right @/kyracooneyx’, she reposted your story to her own, typing out a simple ‘I hate you’. But with your quick thinking and amazing humor, you quickly reply with your own story, a caption reading ‘tell that to the ice cream you didn’t get’.
Kyra couldn’t even lie and say that it wasn’t funny, the little giggle she let out an indicator of how she enjoyed the little back and forth.
————————————————
Everyone in the team agreed that the decision to put you and Kyra in the same car on the road-trip across the country was a bad idea. They knew that it would be torture, Kyra would chew in your ear, or simply just breathe loudly next to you, making you really fucking irritated. You would constantly touch her, poking at her like you weren’t afraid of losing your fingers.
The unfortunate person having to sit next to you and Kyra during the entire ride this time was none other than Alessia Russo, someone who really just wanted to sleep the entire 8 hour ride and skip your bullshit, obviously that didn’t happen.
“WHO LET KYRA HAVE SNACKS? I’m going to kill you.” Alessia sat to your left, rubbing her temples at the already growing headache, Kyra sat to your right, a sucker in her mouth and three loud crinkly bags of crisps in her lap. You were in the middle seat, a frankly uncomfortable seat seeing as you were the tallest in the entire car, knees bent inwards trying to fit your long legs between the seats.
“Yeah, Viv did you not ban snacks so that this wouldn’t happen?” Beth questions the forward, who meets Kyra’s guilty gaze in the rearview mirror, looking at her sternly. Viv sighs like she knew it would happen before reaching her hand back and asking for Kyra’s snacks. When she begrudgingly hands them over, you look at her with a huge grin on your face.
“Thank you pa, you’re my hero, saving me from the evil supervillain ready to chew in my ear.” Viv gets a little embarrassed and emotional at you calling her pa, the Dutch name for father you had nicknamed her was something you only called her in private.
“Aww Vivi, did you get a bit embarrassed?” Beth teases her girlfriend gently, tugging lightly at her dark red cheek. It was lucky you’d stopped at a red light, otherwise Viv would’ve probably crashed the car.
All of a sudden, when you’re distracted by Beth and Viv interacting, you hear a couple of loud chews of what sounds like at least 6 sticks of gum. The way you recoil is almost instant, throwing your body into Alessia’s open arms, the woman glaring at Kyra for doing that, AGAIN. Alessia liked cuddling you though so it wasn’t all that bad.
She definitely can’t complain when you fall asleep in less than 5 minutes either, though having to give Kyra a stare down as she tried to tickle your sides definitely wasn’t a highlight of her day.
Within 25 minutes of your departure from the training grounds, Kyra was already complaining about needing to pee, only answering with a shrug and a simple ‘I didn’t need to go then’ when asked why she didn’t go at home.
Viv sighs as she stops at the gas station in the middle of nowhere, Alessia waking you up so that you too could go to the toilet.
“Oh for fucks sake Kyra, you don’t need all that candy. I swear I’m more of an adult than you are.” You told the Australian girl as you came into the gas station, moving towards the bathroom. It looked like you could get every STD possible from simply being in there.
When you exited it was with a grossed out expression, that was until you spotted the slushy machines lined up against the wall. You lit up like a child on christmas morning when you spotted it, quickly filling a cup whilst you commanded her to get you a sprite, the cashier taking a quick peek at you bouncing up and down in anticipation of your drink.
After you paid, you instructed Kyra to pour about half the sprite into the slushy cup, letting her taste it after she’d promised on her mothers life not to make any sound.
“That’s delicious, where did you learn to do that?” She questions you, moving to buy her own slushy and sprite.
“I don’t know, I just did it once and it tasted great. Now you better hurry up because I think Viv is going to kill us if we’re not in the car soon.” With that, Kyra hurries up.
You’re both in the car in record time, all the actual adults in the car’s eyes widening at the half full slushy glasses in your hands.
Only a few minutes later, both you and Kyra are in full on sugar rush mode, singing along with the song on the radio loudly, swaying in your seats as you pretend you’re on the big stage somewhere. They’re all pleasantly surprised when you belt out the riff to Keyshia Cole’s Love, it being legitimately good.
As were Alessia’s instagram followers, the girl posting a video of you singing like you’d just had your heart broken, well that was until you were interrupted by Kyra snacking loudly right next to your ear.
“LOOOOOOVE NEVER KNEW WHAT I WAS MISS- KYRA GET THE FUCK OUT MY EAR.” She does look a little sheepish as she does it this time, pretty clearly not even registering that she was chewing with her mouth open.
Though she doesn’t stay sheepish for long, just like you don’t stay mad for long, because ‘I want it that way’ by the backstreet boys suddenly came on the radio, and that was always you and Kyra’s karaoke song.
It only took you a few more songs for the sugar crash to hit, you and Kyra suddenly going from duetting on songs to snoring loudly in the backseat.
Luckily enough for everyone in the car you managed to stay asleep through the whole ride, only waking up a few times to tell Kyra to ‘get the fuck out my ear’.
Literally everyone is confused when you turn up to the camping site, half asleep and clinging to Kyra tightly, Beth soon taking you from the younger girl so that she could start helping to set up the tents.
“They didn’t cause too much trouble, did they? I know how they can be.” Kim comes up to stand beside Beth, who shakes her head diligently.
“No, they slept most of the ride, they were both drinking some slushy and then had a sugar crash after singing for half an hour.” Beth smiles at you tenderly, the motherly affection clearly something she’d picked up from her own mother.
“Aw well that’s good then.” Kim says quietly, noticing you drooling slightly with your eyes half open, looking like those orange cats you always showed her.
———————
“Kyra if you don’t get the fuck out my ear I will kill you.” It wasn’t even her fault that she was sniffly, she’d caught something from Harper at camp and when you asked if you could come over for your sleepover, she didn’t hesitate.
She looked at you sadly, like she was heartbroken by your insensitive words. It makes you sad to see her like that, so you quickly bring her into your arms, asking for forgiveness.
“I’m so sorry Ky Ky, how about I make you some soup yk feel better?” She nodded wholeheartedly at your words, sitting on the counter as you made your famous soup.
And even though you had to keep yourself from being angry at her every single second, you wouldn’t trade being at Kyra’s home cooking for her for anything.

steph catley x child (sunshine)
plot: Steph takes you home
warnings: mention of deaths
series master list: here
When Lara passed you cried, cried like hell.
To you Lara was the world, your only world, she was what brightened your day whenever you visited and you were let out of the orphanage, even if it was only for about two hours or so.
But near the end of Lara’s fight, you started to share your world
With Steph.
You knew your sister liked her so you decided to like her, even if she didn’t play for her favorite team.
But now you were packing your bags with the help of one of the older kids.
Steph stood out the front of the door with Jen Beattie, one of her closest friends “Steph stop shaking you’ll be fine” Jen reassured the Australian “I know it’s just-“
“I just want her to have somebody, I promised Lara”
Jen squeezed her friend's shoulder “You still haven’t cried yet?” she asked and she crossed her head “I don’t know why”.
The doors opened to who Jen assumed to be the director of the Orphanage who welcomed them in, Steph was familiar with the woman as she greeted her with a laugh and a smile.
“How is she?” Steph asked the director as they sat down and waited for you to come down with your bags.
“She’s still upset, it’s the worst at six because that’s usually when she would go see her but it’s getting better, she is excited to see you” The woman smiled and Steph nodded “Did we finish all the files, and papers?” she asked and Steph nodded eagerly and Jen pulled them out of her bag for her.
“Now we just have a month trial and we get child services to come and ask her about you and the house life, especially since you have such an important job,” The director told Steph as she nodded, already knowing this information.
Jen watched her friend with a smile, she had seen Steph determined before but right now she looked so determined to give you a good life.
“Stephy” A sniff was heard behind the two Arsenal players as they both turned around quickly to reveal you, your brunette hair curled by one of the older orphans as you chose one of your prettiest dresses, one that Steph bought you when Lara was still alive.
She was out and about with Mini shopping for Harper when she saw the little yellow sundress and thought of you naturally as you always put a smile on everyone's face, like a little ray of sunshine.
But it was slightly cold so you paired it with a white cardigan.
“Hey, Sunshine!” Steph smiled before you waddled over to her, your dress flapping around before lifting you “You look pretty” she gushed and you looked down at her outfit “You look cool too!” you bashfully yelled, truly excited to see her after she finally told you that she was going to adopt you.
Steph had put effort into her outfit, wanting to look sophisticated when she picked you up, she had straightened her hair and wore a suit jacket with matching pants with a white singlet underneath.
Jen had teased her a little but she didn’t care, she was seeing her sunshine.
“Now I have to ask for protocol but Sunshine, do you want to stay with Stephanie?”
You jumped on Stephs knee’s nodding dramatically “Use your words Sunshine” Steph told you and you looked back to the director “Yes please”.
“Okay” the Director smiled, happy you were getting your happy ending with your circumstances “Let’s get you two out then” she laughed and Steph felt the butterflies in her stomach jump around like crazy, Jen got up to grab your bags, there were only two.
With her free hand, she took photos of you two that you both would grow to cherish.
The drive to Stephs was something you will never forget, both your smiles were huge as you asked questions about little things, Sometimes asking Jen about little things, especially asking her how it felt accidentally slamming Alexandra Popp which she was shocked to know but smiled when you told her that Lara was a huge arsenal fan.
“Who was her favorite player?” Jen asked and you put your finger to your chin thinking “Kimmy!” you yelled after remembering “But it was Jill before she moved” You nodded and Steph smiled “You have an amazing memory Sunshine” She complimented you and you nodded.
“It’s my superpower, now I get to remember Lara even more!”
Jen looked to Steph to see if any tears had fallen but no, she just nodded solemnly as she finally drove to her house.
When you got out of the kiddy chair that Steph had set up weeks ago, Steph held you in her arms and gave her keys to Jen to open the door when she opened the door Steph let you down, free to adventure which you did.
“Have you told her about Calvin?” Jen asked as she heard a squeal from you “I thought I put him outside” Steph's eyes popped.
“You have a doggy door”.
“Steph quickly followed your squeal but let out a laugh when she saw you and a still puppy Calvin playing with each other, you on your knees as he licked your face.
“Thankfully she likes dogs” Jen smiled as she turned the corner.
“Do you want to see your room?” Steph asked you and you looked at her with a grin “Do I have to share?” you asked and Steph crossed her head “Nope, you get it all to yourself and it’s a big girl bed”
“I’m a big girl” you smiled and Steph nodded “Exactly”.
You ran to your room with a smile on your face and jumped on your bed with a big yelp as Steph helped you up “Do you like it?” Steph asked as you looked around to see the room.
It had white walls and your draws were wooden but you had little yellow decorations as you told Steph your favorite colour was yellow “I love it!” you yelled, you kept on yelling, your excitement taking over you.
It was later in the day, after Jen went home at six o’clock you ran from the TV room into the kitchen where Steph was cooking pasta in your new pyjamas she bought you.
“Can we see Lara now?”
Steph dropped the wooden spoon in the pot at your words and quickly turned off the gas as she turned to you.
You had been so excited and happy all day that you had forgotten your troubles “We can’t do that Sunshine” Steph told you, bending down to be level with you “Why-“ you stopped your sentence as your memory finally caught up with you “oh yeah” you frowned, a tear escaping your eye which Steph wiped away quickly “I forgot” you cried a bit more.
“that’s okay” Steph eased you as she felt her eyes starting to water from your mistake “I forgot” you repeated and buried yourself into Steph's neck “It’s okay Sunshine” she squeezed your tights as tears began to flow down her cheeks.
Lara was truly gone.
Steph was all you had left.

Footsteps in the Snow
Pairing: Dad!Coriolanus Snow x Mom!Reader
Chapter Synopsis: The Heir
Warning: parenthood
Word Count: 3133
7 of 7
When one has everything, the only foe left to face seems to be nothing else but time.
Coriolanus watched his son Aurelius Hyperion, or Harper grow. The little boy seemed to become more and more like him with every passing day. And Coriolanus is conflicted about how he feels about that fact as it seems his son grows farther and farther away from him.
You often reassure him that it is simply a part of growing up, that children will have to learn how to become independent. It was easy for you to say. You did not have the same crisis as him.
Harper would seek your company and still cuddles close to you despite him being seven years older since you have given birth to him.
It wounds Coriolanus deeply when he catches Harper laughing with you but his back straightens and the glee in his face fades to indifference when he is nearby. Coriolanus found it difficult to bond with a child so similar to him.
Without you, he fears Harper would have long left the manor.
“Harper, is there something you would like to tell your father?” You ask over breakfast, your voice light and cheery, a juxtaposition to the frigid atmosphere.
Coriolanus sets the newspaper down to give his son his undivided attention. It was something you taught him. To make Harper feel seen and heard. And he is thankful that you initiated an interaction between them. They felt nothing more than strangers living under the same roof.
The little boy glances at his father before he sets his fork down and wipes his lips with the napkin. Coriolanus waits patiently as the boy sips his water and clears his throat. He is stalling but Coriolanus will not let him get away from this.
“Yes?” He asks when Harper chooses to fix his cravat instead of talking.
You smile at your son when he looks at you for support. ‘Go on.’ You mouth at him.
Harper straightens his back and meets his father’s gaze with his unwavering ones.
“I was the top of my class, father.” He says proudly. “I also just learned a new piece on the violin.”
Coriolanus smiles genuinely, proud of his little boy.
“That is good.”
Harper looks at his father with his eyes mirroring the same happiness and for just a moment they stare at each other. Coriolanus watches how his joy seeps out again.
Coriolanus receives a kick to his shin and he looks at you with accusation but you are too busy buttering your bread.
“I would love to hear you play.” He tries to add but Harper only nods. “What piece was it?”
Harper sighs and Coriolanus purses his lips. “Paganini’s 24th Caprice.”
You sip your tea, quietly enjoying the wonderstruck expression in your husband’s face before he recovers quickly.
“And what does Grandma’am have to say about that?” Coriolanus asks gently, a soft smile on his lips, one that Harper returns.
“She doesn’t know.” Harper said mischievously. Grandma’am would have pulled his ear had she known.
“Let us keep it that way.” Coriolanus nods as he picks his newspaper again. “But will you play for me when you find time?”
Harper glances at you before nodding.
“Harper is coming to work with us today.” You tell Coriolanus who looks at you with mild interest, to ensure that Harper does not take it negatively but he was in truth asking you what you are planning. Again.
“It has been quite a long time since his last visit.” You say after pushing a fruit parfait in your son’s direction.
“Indeed, it has.” Coriolanus agrees as he picks up where he left off in the newspaper.
Your son knew that something might be wrong when you were smiling too much the moment all three of you entered his father’s office. Coriolanus was fixing the documents in his desks when you sat on the plush sofa, your heavy belly more prominent. You would have gone to your own office usually.
Harper sits on the other sofa across you, watching how his little sister sent kicks through your belly, making the fabric shift ever so slightly.
“Oh, dear me!” You suddenly gasp and both boys look at you with concern. “Vipsania Sickle’s afternoon tea, it’s tomorrow.”
Coriolanus raises a brow. “She hosts afternoon tea all the time, my love. There is no need to trouble yourself.”
“But I do not have a dress.” You argue as you attempt to stand with great difficulty. “And she claims this afternoon tea will best the recent one the Flickermans hosted, and mind you, that was pretty eccentric.”
Harper stands abruptly when you get off the couch.
“Oh, no, Honey.” You smile at your sweet boy, your hand brushing his golden head to keep it neater. “I will have to go alone. I would not want to burden you with scanning for dresses the entire day.”
He looks desperately at you, turns his back to his father and mouths pleas but you only smile cheekily and kiss his nose.
“I will see you later. Have a great day with your father.” You pat his cheek lightly. Coriolanus comes to kiss you, although a frown is in his brows.
“Be careful, I already sent for the chauffeur.” He tells you and you nod.
Coriolanus and Harper stand side by side to watch you leave and when the door shuts, they remain standing there staring at the door. Eventually they glance at each other but Harper quickly evades his eyes and circles back to the sofa where you previously sat, missing you already.
“I promise I will not be a bother.” He tells his father who has his arms crossed in his chest, looking at the boy who grabbed a high-end real estate magazine.
“Thinking of buying a property?” Coriolanus asks as he returns to his desk.
Harper lowers the magazine to peek at his father who is now working at his desk. “When I get old enough.” He taps his shoes together. “I’ll invite mother to come live there too.”
Coriolanus looks up from the document he is working with. “What about me?”
Not expecting such a question, Harper was a bit hesitant and he stared up at the ceiling before answering his father. “You can come too”
They minded their own business after that.
Coriolanus welcomed the silence as he got through his job without disturbances.
It was lunch time when the silence was broken.
A service trolley is being wheeled in and Harper perks up at the scent.
He gets up to greet the person who pushes the trolley and the old man dressed in a crisp suit smiles at the young boy warmly. The man takes his leave after telling them what was under the cloches.
Coriolanus sits with Harper in the lounge as they share the hearty lunch.
“Did you get a lot of work done?” Harper asks politely.
You told your husband that your son is only starting to learn how to make small talks and that he should be encouraged when he attempts to start one.
“I did.” Coriolanus nods. “Almost done for the day.”
Harper looks at his father in astonishment.
“But it is only lunch?”
Coriolanus nods. “I was surprised too. But then again, I stayed up late last night.”
“You did?” Harper raises a brow. “Mother slept alone last night?”
The fork stills in Coriolanus’ plate and he purses his lips. “Your mother understands.” He clears his throat. “And this does not happen often.”
Harper continues his lunch, not liking the subject anymore.
“How are your fencing lessons?” Coriolanus tries to open another topic.
“I excel at it.”
“That is good.”
“Yes.”
This was much harder than Coriolanus anticipated.
He needed a topic, something that would pique his son’s interest. Something to banish the suffocating formal atmosphere. They are father and son, for heaven’s sake. They are acting more like business partners, even the men Coriolanus meets do not act so awkward around him.
“When I was younger, there was this shop I often go to.” Coriolanus says as he wipes his mouth with the napkin. “They had the best gelato.”
Harper sets his glass of water down to listen to his father.
“The gelato that our chefs make does not even compare.” He continues, making his voice light and playful.
Coriolanus laughs at the skeptical look on his son.
“Our chefs make the best desserts,” Harper argues.
Harper watches as Coriolanus heads to the closet and pulls out a couple of white polo shirts. They were identical, only differing in size.
“I use these for golfing but I figured they would work fine.”
“Work fine for what?” Harper walks over to his father.
Coriolanus hands him the clothing with a determined smile as he places a hat atop his head. “We’re going out.”
Sneaking out of the mansion undetected was close to an impossibility if it were anybody else but Coriolanus was glad that the staff pretended to have seen nothing. Harper excitedly walked close to Coriolanus as they strolled around the Capitol. He only got to see things from the car window and everything looks so different when he treads the sidewalks.
Harper was astonished how people were simply walking past him, not even sparing him a glance.
“They don’t recognize us.” He whispered giddily to his father who glanced at him with a grin.
Coriolanus placed a hand on Harper’s back as they entered the small shop. It was not like the ones that Harper usually sees. It was incredibly small, but its business was doing fairly well. Harper saw another boy waiting for his cone, and he was almost bouncing on his heels.
Harper frowns, is this all it takes for that kid to be happy? Even that sailboat he got from the Plinths did not make him smile that widely.
“You’re next in line.” Coriolanus gently pushes him forward.
A wrinkly grandma is by the counter, she was wearing a pink dress, and her ears adorned by large golden hoops. “What flavor would you want, young man?”
Harper turns to his dad, not knowing what to get. He was just used to food being served to him, he never had to make an order before. Coriolanus points at the options just beside the cash register and Harper bends his head back to see from under his hat.
There’s chocolate and vanilla. Lemon and hazelnut.
“I will have the caramel, please.” Harper says politely and the old lady nods before turning to Coriolanus.
“And a pistachio.” Coriolanus says as he pretends to look at his wallet to avoid looking at the woman. He was incredibly popular, he would not want to risk people recognizing him.
When Harper receives the crisp golden cone that had two enormous scoops of caramel gelato, he cannot contain his excitement and takes a bite. Coriolanus snickers when Harper’s lips tighten as his blonde brows raise while his eyes are closed.
“You okay?”
Harper blinks rapidly as he clutches his head.
“I am fine…uhm okay. I’m okay.” He glances at the sweet old lady, wondering if his formal tone gave anything away but she appears to not have heard it. “Thank you. It is delicious.”
Coriolanus pays and he steps out of the shop with Harper focused on his cone, determined to keep up with the melting scoops. Coriolanus decided to take him to the park he donated and they took a slower pace as they walked through the pathways with enormous trees lining it.
“You’re right. This is better.” Harper tells his father. “I wonder if I can get them to sell their recipe.”
Coriolanus smiles discreetly, a victory.
Harper glances around the greenery, admiring the roses and the pigeons. One decided to follow him though. Harper looks at it from the corner of his eyes, trying not to make a sudden move that could agitate the bird.
It was persistent.
The boy quickens his steps and the pigeon hops and hops, using its wings to propel it forward. When it tries to peck his foot, Harper sprints to Coriolanus. “Dad!” He grabs hold of his father’s hand and clings close.
Coriolanus halts his step and as Harper warily stares at the pigeon who flew away in fright, Coriolanus had his eyes on his little boy, who just called him ‘Dad’.
To Harper’s surprise, Coriolanus scoops him up just like how he did when he was still a toddler. They both look at each other, a million words spoken in one eye contact.
With stomachs satiated, they walk the halls of the Presidential mansion hand in hand.
“Why do we not live here?” Harper asks curiously. “Most Presidents live here.”
Coriolanus rubs his chin. “I prefer to keep my family and work separate.”
Harper nods but he pulls Coriolanus when he sees a gigantic oil painting of someone he knew.
Coriolanus stands next to him to gaze up at the painting.
“Crassus Xanthos Snow. Your grandfather.” Coriolanus tells him.
“I know. We studied his biography at school.” Harper says as his soft small hand tightens its hold around his father’s much larger hand. “Everybody thought it was unfair as he was my grandfather but it’s not like I knew him personally.”
Coriolanus looks at the tall painting, meeting his father’s gaze as the cold unmoving eyes stare down at him.
“I didn’t know him very well either.” He tells Harper. “I was very young when he died.”
Harper shifts uncomfortably, not knowing what to say. He settles with a gentle pat to his father’s hand. Coriolanus smiles at his boy, appreciating the attempt to console him.
“You know, even after his passing, I still felt him lingering. His legacy was very great and it is difficult to live under his shadow.” His smile became sad.
“I might know how that feels, dad.” Harper slips his hand from his. “I mean…Father.”
Coriolanus looks away from the painting to look at Harper. “What do you mean?”
The kid sighs as he glances at him. “You’re so perfect. You make the best decisions. Everybody respects you. You are the great leader of Panem, you and mother.”
Where were you when he needed you?
“I wasn’t always like this.” Coriolanus tells him. “I used to make mistakes, great mistakes. People did not respect me, they respected my name.”
Harper shrugs. “Which makes it harder for me because even after all that, Snow landed on top. If I fail, even after everything I have, I will be a disgrace.”
“You will not be a disgrace.” Coriolanus grins. “You dominate every class they put you in. You learned Paganini’s piece and not everybody can say that.”
Scoffing, Harper scuffs his shoe against the carpet. “But I did not mentor nor did I become a scholar under Dr. Gaul.”
“I can help you.” Coriolanus assures him by placing a hand on his shoulder, one that Harper slaps away.
“I hate nepotism.”
This forces an amused laugh from Coriolanus. “You don’t need it. You are only seven and you already know words such as ‘nepotism’.” Harper frowns at his father. “What I am trying to say is, I can teach you. My father was not there for me so I have no references as to how fatherhood should be but I am willing to guide you.”
“Like a mentor?” Harper raises a brow.
“If you want, yes.” Coriolanus pulls his hat off to ruffle his hair, Harper scrunches his nose as his hair falls to his face. “And you can keep on calling me ‘Dad’.”
Harper grimaces. “Only in private.”
Coriolanus laughs. “Alright, I’ll take it.”
When you arrived later that day, Harper was fast asleep on the couch, the coat Coriolanus wore prior that day was draped over your boy to keep him warm.
“Ah, there she is.” Coriolanus grins as you walk in with shopping bags in your arms.
You carefully set them down as you waddle to the sofa. Coriolanus follows after you and proceeds to take your shoes off. You sigh in contentment as he massages your tired feet.
“And how was it?” You ask as you place a bowl of dried fruits on top of your round belly. “Did you get to bond?”
“We did.” Coriolanus nods. “We snuck out.”
“You what?” You nearly pull your foot but he tightens his hold on your toe. “Corio, that’s dangerous.”
Coriolanus smirks at you. “The most dangerous thing that happened was a pigeon chasing after him.”
You stifle a laugh. Oh, you would have wanted to see that. Strolling around the Capitol like a normal family and free from prying eyes sounds really nice. A pout forms on your lips.
“I’m jealous now.”
Your husband caresses your calf and leans over to place a kiss on your belly.
“Perhaps when our little princess is born, we can go on more vacations.”
Nodding, you pop a dried strawberry to your mouth as you watch the smile stay on your husband’s face. His face is glowing, eyes no longer holding a storm inside it.
“Corio, are you happy?”
His fingers still their movement as he raises a brow at you.
“When you asked me to marry you, you said a life with me might be a shot to happiness.” You continue and he gently lifts your feet off to come sit closer to you.
“Y/N, I have made many decisions in my life and marrying you still remains to be the best one.” He places a kiss on your nose and your eyes flutter shut, tickling your plump cheeks with your eyelashes. “You gave me love and two wonderful children.”
You both glance at Harper as he places a warm hand on your belly.
“Everything I am today is because of you.”
“No, Corio. You cannot give me all the credit-”
He shakes his head. “Everything I am today is because of you.”
You feel a sting in your eyes and your eyesight gets blurry from the onslaught of tears.
“All I did was scheme.” You laugh through your tears which he kisses away.
“And look where those schemes brought us.” He sits tall and looks at his office. “You brought us on top.”
Happiness was something Coriolanus thought to have been fleeting and sacrificed when in search for glory. But it was not. It was the culmination of everything that a person can achieve.
Money, Power, Glory.
They are something he sought for when he was young and naïve, but all three boils down to happiness.
And he was glad you stood by him. You made him feel things he thought he had no right to.
Coriolanus is happy. And he is loved.
And he will stain the world red to protect this life you created with him.
Quest for Happiness

Baby #2 \\ katrina gorry x russo!reader
Just a whole heap of fluff and Gorry-Russo family cuteness
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Now bubba, mummy and mama both have camps soon. Who do you want to go with? The Tillies or Lionesses Harps?"
Your two year old Harper looks between Katrina then over to you and back to Katrina. She jumps on you and you are surprised considering she loves her Tillies aunties. She's only ever come to one England camp before and it was when you had friendlies and Katrina an an important competition.
"Are you sure?"
"She'll be fine love. Harps is older now and I know Sarina will accomodate for her"
"Okay" Katrina leans over and gives you a soft kiss before little hands pull you away.
"I'm going to call Sarina quickly, I'll meet you in the kitchen?"
"Bye mama"
As expected, Sarina is happy that Harper is coming along and said she'll organise babysitters etc. Just as you finish, Harper races through the door and hides behind your legs.
"Mama save me!"
"Harper Ollie you need some fruit before pancakes!" Katrina yells as she comes running around the corner.
"Come on munchkin, let's eat the fruit together"
You picked up the now relaxed Harper and went into the kitchen. You place Harper at the table with her fruit and you wonder back over to your fiancé. You wrap your arms around Katrina's small frame and kiss her neck gently.
"Do you think it worked?"
"I hope it did. I guess we'll find out in a few weeks" Katrina says, turning in your arms with her hand on the area of your potential bump.
Just as you lean down to kiss Katrina when little hands yet again hit your thighs.
"I finish! Pancakes now?"
"Yeah baby girl, pancakes now"
You make Harper her pancakes and add a special ingrediant of chocolate chips in there. As you start pouring the batter in, two arms wrap around your leg. You look down at Harper that's looking up at you and smiling. The small girl nows just how to melt your heart.
"Mama I help you?"
"Of course you can bubba"
Lifting Harper up on you hip allows her to see the pan. You explain to her that when she sees heaps of bubbles on the pancake, that's when you know when to flip them.
"Can you do that Chef Harper?"
The girl giggles before nodding and resting her head on your shoulder, making sure she can still see the pan. You carefully lift up the pancake and Harper lifts her head from your shoulder.
"Flip Chef mama!"
Katrina chuckles from her seat at the table, taking a photo of you both. The process repeats until the pancakes are all cooked. Harper runs into the tv room and starts playing with her toys. You and Katrina sit in each others arms when your phone rings from the table beside you. You look to see it's your younger sister Alessia.
"Hey chick, everything alright?"
You ask worried.
"Can I come over? I want to see Harper before she goes to Katrina with Katrina"
"That's fine Less, see you soon. Drive safe"
You turn to Harper who looks at you confused.
"Guess who's coming over to see you Harps?"
"Kyra? Cha cha? Aunt Lessi? I want Aunt Lessi mama"
You pout at Harper who clearly has been missing her Aunt.
"It's Aunt Lessi!"
Harper squeals in excitement and Katrina quietens her down before the neighbours complain. Harper quickly packed way her toys then raced up to put on her Russo 23 pink and blue Arsenal jersey and Matildas shorts (Harper's choice). Three loud knocks made Harper run to the door with you on her tail. You open the door and Harper jumps on Alessia.
"Missed you Aunt Lessi"
"Missed you more sweetheart" Alessia kisses all over Harper's face before acknowledging you are even here.
"Hi bug" You mumble as you hug her tight.
You and your sister are best friends, two peas in a pod, even though you are five years older. If either of you have good or bad news, the other is the first person you call. Your mum was worried about having Alessia so far from you and your brothers but when she saw how close you to were even as little kids, all that worry started to go away.
Katrina comes downstairs and greets Alessia with such ease. You all sit and talk about the upcoming camps while Harper plays with Alessia.
"So Kat, when do you and Harps fly out for camp?" Katrin looks at you and you shake your head.
"Less, Harps isn't coming with me. She's going with you guys"
Alessia froze for a minute and she celebrated with Harper.
"You hear that Harps, you're coming to camp with Mama and Aunt Lessi!"
"I know, I pick Lions Aunt Lessi" Harper said giggling as it's the most obvious thing ever.
You lean into Katrina and imagine how Alessia might be playing with another niece or nephew in the near future.
~~~~~~~~~~ Time skip ~~~~~~~~~~
3 weeks later, you and Harper are on your way to St Georges Park for training and orientation. You have told Harper that you have important games coming up so she needs to be on her best behaviour. Harper is an easy-going kid so you have no issues. You and Alessia don't even get out of the car before you he squeals and see Alessia running over with a wide smile on her face. She unbuckles Harper and hugs her tightly. Mary and Ella helps you with your bags and you think them many times. You see Alicia go over to the admin and Harper fist bump the camera guy with you following suit. Serena gathers everyone saying to go get changed and training will start in 45 minutes. She pulled you aside to save the babysitter they hired couldn't come until tomorrow. Reassured Serena that with the amount of toys you brought for Harper, she'll be well entertain. You begin to move towards the locker room when you instantly had the urge to vomit. You sprint into the locker room, push past everyone and do your business in the cubicle. Harper looked up at Alessia with a confused face and hit her thigh.
"Aunt Lessi, mama okay?"
"Yeah bug, she'll be okay"
You stroll out to see the team trees and stare at you. You wave them off and reassure Alessia and Harper that you're okay. You mention something about the medic and walk straight back out.
After seeing the medic, you quickly get changed and sort Harper out on the pitch. You set her up under the players bench and spread her toys out.
"Alright bubs, I'm going to be out there for a bit okay? You tell me if you need anything okay?"
"Okay mama" You kiss her cheeks before running out to the team.
At the drinks break, you check on Harper and you feel quite faint. Serena walks over, checking that everything is okay when you pass out. You wake up to a dim room and a faint tapping from next to you. You look over to see Alessia so you throw a pillow at her, making her jump out of the chair nearly.
"How are you? Do you need anything?" Alessia rushes out.
"I'm fine Less, just need Harper" A few minutes later, Alessia walks in with your baby girl.
"You better Mama?"
"I'm okay baby, I'll need some Harper cuddles later"
You move off the medic table and go back to the locker room when a medic stops you. She hand you a small box and you think her immensely. Back in your shared room with Alessio, you quickly use the bathroom to confirm your suspicions. After the three minutes is up, you flip the stick over in the little plus sign is prominent.
"Less" The blonde looks over from the movie she's watching with Harper and you wordlessly tell her to come over. Pointing to the test, you start smiling and she finally puts two and two together. She hugs you tighty and kisses your belly.
"You cannot tell anyone Less. I'm going to tell Katrina after her games but I mean it, not even Harper or Tooney. You promise?"
"Of course y/n/n. There is one person you have to tell and that's Sarina"
Fast forward to a week later and you and Harper just got back from your usual after dinner walk, when the door opens again.
"Mummy!" Harper runs down the hallway and jumps into your fiancés arms. You follow close behind and give Katrina a soft kiss.
"Hi"
"Hi" You copy.
"Right little miss, bath time and in your pj's for bed" Katrina takes Harper upstairs and starts the process. You decide to give them some catching up time so you have a shower to relax a little. You feel arms around your waist and some kisses on your shoulder blades. Katrina's hands run down your stomach when she realises something. She turns you around and sees the smallest of bumps.
"Babe"
"I know, I found out on the first day of camp after I passed out. I was going to surprise you at Christmas but it's too far away"
"I'm so happy. I love you so much and I'm going to be here through it all" You lean down and kiss Katrina passionately, pouring all your emotions into the kiss.
"Thank you for doing this"
"My pleasure love. Let's get out of here, I believe you owe me some cuddles"
A few weeks later, you talked to Jonas about your situation and he is over the moon for you. You request that with the physicality of the WSL, that you sit out of the games but still train. He agrees and has the medical team draw up a plan for you. You, Katrina and Harper went to see the baby yesterday at the doctors and got the gender in an envelope ready to give Alessio to organise the baby shower. Now it was time to tell your teammates since everyone is eating in the canteen for lunch, it's the perfect time. You give Alessia the signal and she shuts everyone up.
"Alright you all are probably wondering why I'm not playing for the next few months. Harper!"
Harper runs in, with Katrina slowly entering behind, wearing a jumper that reads 'big sister duties start June 2024'. Leah's the first to read it and jumps up before running over to you and hugging you tightly. You're like the big sister she's never had, taking her under your wing when she moved up to the senior team. Everyone comes over to congradulate you and Katrina and you start crying due to all the love that's surrounding you.
"No cry mama! Baby will be sad" You look at Katrina and she mouths an 'I love you' and you return it with a wink.

St Alban's Local- Steph Catley
Steph Catley X Primary School Teacher! Katrina Gorry Sister! Reader
Synopsis: A cute morning café run sends you and Steph viral when Lorraine gets there.
1172 words.
It was definitely weird being an Australian in England, the difference in temperature. Having a cold Christmas. A warmish summer off from work.
Following your footballer fiancée half way across the world and finding a new job in England as a Primary School teacher.
But one thing I couldn't get my head around was the telly over here, and the British obsession with morning television, and these talk shows like Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women.
Not that I got to watch any of them as I was either at work already dealing with classes of up to 35, 5 year old children. Or in the holidays I took lie ins very seriously as I refused to leave the bed I shared with Steph until at least 10 o'clock no matter how much she tried to get up she wasn't moving either.
So it was a surprise during the School Holidays, when Steph was able to drag herself, me and our giant dog Calvin out of the house and to Mulberry's Café. Mulberry's Café was literally the only place you would find me in a morning.
The owner of the cute little café was such a cute lady, and she was also Australian, she felt like she was another mother to me. And she loved it when I brought in Calvin or Harper. But DO NOT and I mean DO NOT bring in Kyra or Katie.
Why? Because last time I came in with either one of them just after Kyra moved here, Kyra broke two mugs somehow, and Katie is ............................ Irish and that's enough of a reason for Mrs Mulberry.
But really I loved going to this little cafe on our morning walk with Calvin, as we get to sit in the little garden with him, and he gets to have a few biscuits with a bowl of water.
So for once when I get there with Calvin and Steph in tow, as I swing open the door to the cafe, the bell jingling into the open space.
"Mrs Mulberry!" I cheer as I see the older lady, going to give her a hug as she leaved the counter unattended to on this empty morning for her.
"Kaitlyn!" The older lady cheered out to me with a smile, hugging me as she kissed my cheeks lightly. "And I've told you it's Dot."
"Dot, it's so nice to see you for once." I finally told the older lady as she held my cheeks in her hands with a smile. Having a little moment with my mother figure over here.
"Yeah I was finally able to drag her out of bed!" And Steph just had to ruin it. Really this was a sweet moment and now she ruined it.
"Oh shush you, you're no better!" I turned and finally spoke to my fiancée as I pointed at her, as she held Calvin back from jumping onto Dot.
"Come on girls, now give me a hug Steph my girl." Dot finally turned to Steph and held her arms out wide for her to walk into for a moment.
"It's lovely to see you Dot." Steph told her with a smile as she looked at me and locked eyes with mine over the shoulder of the lady as she stuck her tongue out at me.
"Stop it you!" I told Steph pointing at her a cheeky smile on my lips, with Steph coming over to stand by me, with her hand in mine.
"But......." Dot told us both with a smile as she looked at us both.
"Oh no what do you want?" I asked her as I leaned my head on Steph's shoulder, as Calvin was finally let loose to go over to the older lady, as he jumped up at her.
"Oh yes, good boy......." Dot focussed on Calvin for a moment. "Oh yes. We have Lorraine coming to the café this morning to interview someone about what they would do with 100, 000 pounds."
"No." I just muttered.
"And I said I would find someone for them, and since you're here, they're going to be here any minute, and I need someone for them to film." Dot told us both as she finally gave Calvin his biscuit.
"I'm in St Alban's today and going to see what the locals would do if they won big this Autumn." The woman told the camera. Before it panned over to us two and Calvin.
"Well we got engaged last New Years so we'd save it up for the wedding I'm sure." Steph told the camera with a nod.
"That is a lot more expensive them we thought." I added in with a nod, and luckily that was all we would have to do.
But what we didn't know was that over the next few days the clip would go viral for Steph being called a St Alban's local, but also as I was finally showed to the public with Steph.
Our relationship has been private but not secret. Like the public know who I am if they follow Steph or any of the Aussie gals but this was different.
A lot of WOSO fans knew who I was now.
But my kiddo, my students all over the school, parent's included also knew. And I knew it would be a bugger coming up this Monday, with the kiddo's coming back to school.
And this was the first reaction when I came back to school on Monday morning, and the kiddo's we're running in, like they had all planned to come in all at once and just bombard me with questions upon questions.
'Miss Miss were you on the telly yesterday!'
'Miss Gorry why were you at Mulberry's Café yesterday?'
'Miss are you seeing Steph Catley the footballer?'
'Miss why are you a St Alban's Local if you're Australian?'
"Guys, breathe and we'll do this one by one, now hands in the air and I'll get you through all of this!" I told them all as they went to their assigned seats around my class room.
"But first in case this covers your questions, I am currently engaged to Steph Catley Arsenal and Matilda's defender." I told all of the kiddos with a smile. "She proposed to me last New Years, and you guys should all be excited, because thanks to me, we've got our guests coming in next week."
I has organised a day next week on their day off, and some of the Arsenal girls had agreed to come in and visit us all and have a fun day at the school for the kids. It wasn't just my class but for all of the year groups.
"But Miss, who proposed to who?" I heard one of the kids asked, and honestly I wanted to laugh.
People think the kids wouldn't accept this or would ask inappropriate questions but really they didn't care, and I was just happy they didn't ask me about how I looked as I looked so tired and dead in the clip.

Playing Favourites
Arsenal Women x Child!Reader
Summary: You definitely have favourites in the Arsenal squad
Leah, as a football player, is very cool.
Leah, as a sister, is a bit annoying.
It's clear to everyone that you were the happy little accident of the family, so much younger than your siblings, but Leah especially enjoyed taking you everywhere with her.
It wasn't uncommon for her to kidnap you from Milton Keynes and make the long drive back to the Arsenal training grounds. Honestly, your parents kind of just accepted Leah's loud presence in your life without complaint.
She was quite annoying though, sometimes. Like now, when she woke you up super early to take you to practice with her.
You were grouchy and moody but looked especially cute in your Arsenal puffer jacket and your little hat.
"Come on, bean," She says, hoisting you up onto her hip as you lag behind.
"Leah," You whine," Tired."
"I know," She says," I know but we're gonna have a lot of fun today. I promise."
You groan anyway, going limp in her arms as she wanders into the locker room. She sets you on your feet as she changes and you groan again as you wander around in an exhausted haze.
You bump into Viv and give her the international sign of 'pick me up please' - grabby hands. She holds you a bit like you're a bomb about to go off but you're relieved all the same. Viv's comfortable and you're happy to rest in her arms.
Jen approaches. "Hey, baby Williamson," She says, reaching out to push your hair out of your face.
You make an annoyed noise and turn away, burying further into Viv - who relaxed slightly now that you've gotten comfortable.
"Oh, come on." Jen pops up on your other side. "You can't really be choosing Viv over me? I'm way more fun!"
You turn your head away again and shut your eyes. Your breathing slowly changes into soft puffs against Viv's collarbone and your head lulls.
Viv has to change her hold to make sure you don't go tumbling to the ground.
"Looking good Miedema!" Beth wolf whistles but Viv ignores her, focussed on making sure that your hat is firmly on your head.
You're kind of in a half-sleep state - still kind of awake to know that Viv is moving outside with you but asleep enough that when your eyes finally blink open again, you feel more well rested than when Leah got you bundled into the car this morning.
You rub at your eyes and stubbornly turn away from Leah when she comes over to grab you.
"Bean," She says in disbelief as you slip from her grasp and hide behind the better Lia's legs," Come on! Are you still upset?"
"She woke me up early," You tell Lia, who affectionately rubs a hand through your hair. "Meanie." You stick your tongue out.
Lia laughs. "Yeah, she is a meanie."
"Meanie!" You say again.
"Hey! I'm your sister! You can't call me that!"
"Meanie! Meanie! Meanie!" You stamp your feet and glare.
Lia laughs and hoists you up onto her hip when your sister goes to grab you. "Come on, bean," She says," Let's get away from this meanie!"
You spend a lot of training with Lia and you also branch out to Kyra too. You don't know her at all. She's very new to the team and she's Australian too, like Caitlin and Steph, so she's very exciting.
You kick the ball away from her, one hand wrapped tightly around her shorts so she can't run away from you.
"You're Leah's sister, right? y/n?"
You nod. "Uh-huh. You're Kyra."
"I am."
"You've got a cool accent," You say. You take her hand, swinging it back and forth," Let's be friends."
She sends you a silly smile, kneeling down to your level. "I know another little girl like you. Her name's Harper. You can't be much older."
You nod along. "Does that mean you know how to play?"
"I do know how to play. What do you want to do?"
You think for a moment before slapping her on the leg. "You're it!" You turned to run as fast as your little legs will carry you.
Kyra laughs as she runs after you, catching up to you a few times but dramatically tripping on her own feet when she's about to tag you.
You weave through the groups of girls training, ducking and dashing through their open legs so Kyra can't grab at you.
"Whoa, bean!" Steph says, grabbing you by your waist when you clamber through the gap between her legs," Be careful. I could have crushed you."
From the angle she's holding you at, you can't quite see Kyra yet. You don't know where she's going to pop out of so you try to push Steph's hands off of you, not at all in the mood to play her games.
"Whoa! You got somewhere to be, bean? You can't hang out with me?"
"Let go!" You say firmly, trying to push her hands off," Kyra's gonna get me. Let go, Steph!"
Steph sets you down at your insistence, glancing around, but doesn't quite relinquish her grip on you. "Sorry to break it to you, bean, but I think Jonas needs Kyra for something."
"Steph!" You groan as though it's her fault that Kyra could no longer find you.
"Sorry," She says," How about I play with you instead? That'll be fun, huh, bean?"
You roll your eyes, turning away. "No, Steph. You never play right."
With your game with Kyra suitably ruined by adult jobs and all of your running finally catching up to you, you end up near Lotte.
She's always nice and calm and lets you nap against when you're sleepy.
You're yawning when you finally make it over to her and the new girl. You recognise the new girl vaguely but you're very sleepy and Lotte looks nice and warm so you clamber onto her lap without thinking.
"Oh!" The new girl says, almost gasping at your sudden appearance.
"Leah's little sister," Lotte explains. She jostles you slightly. "Hey, bean, say hi to Alessia."
"Hi, Alessia," You parrot but your attention is waning and that's all the words they get out of you as you sag against Lotte's chest.
"I think I recognise her," Alessia says," Leah gave away her Euro's medal to her, after we won."
"I have all of Leah's medals," You slur, somehow still awake.
Your shirt's ridden up a bit so Alessia moves to pull it down, only to get her hands clumsily swatted away. "No," You say," No play. Sleep."
"Don't mind bean," Lotte explains," She needs a nap and Katie's favourite thing is pulling her shirt up and blowing raspberries on her stomach."
Alessia laughs and that rubs you the wrong way and you uselessly swat in her general direction. "Sleep," You insist," Night-Night."
You conk out pretty quickly on Lotte's chest when new-girl-Alessia finally quietens. You're not quite sure how long you were sleeping because you come back into awareness inside so there's no moving sun to see if you were sleeping a long time.
You recognise these arms though and you really don't want to be in them, given your rather sour start to the day. With your uncoordinated limbs, you try to push yourself away but the person holding you keeps readjusting their grip, keeping you trapped.
"No," You whine," No, wrong. Wrong."
"Wrong?" You sister laughs," What's wrong, bean?"
"You."
"Me?"
"Want the other Leah," You insist," Lia! Lia!"
"Give her here." You're transferred into the Lia you wants' arms and relax instantly into them, yawning and rubbing the sleep from your eyes.
"Oh, I see," Your actual Leah scoffed," I see, bean. Playing favourites? Really? You don't even have good taste. We all know I'm the superior LW."
"No!" You say stubbornly," Lia's the best!"
Lia laughs, hoisting you up further on her hip. "Well," She says," The bean has spoken."

big sister's
summary ― what happens when your overprotective big sister finds out you're dating and not just that, you're dating the team captain. well shit.
pairing ― sam kerr x arnold!reader
warning/s ― angst, swearing
You let out a puff, as you sat down on the bench next to Katrina. Leaning over to stretch your legs, feeling the tension slowly break away. Training has been hard, Tony ensured we were performing to our absolute best.
Charlotte joined, asking Katrina about Harper. You tried to listen in to the conversation but your attention was quickly stolen before you could contribute anything important. Caitlin was in deep conversation with Sam. You could see Sam’s leg muscles flex as she attempted to stretch her injured calf. You embarrassingly roam your eyes all over her body as she pushes her hips deeper.
A shove stole your attention away - a knowing smirk on Katrina’s lips. Her eyebrows wiggling, Charlotte joined in.
“What’s going on over there little miss?” the older woman teases, giving you another shove.
“Shut up” you puff out, shaking your head as you stood up and turned your back to Sam. That would stop you from stealing any more glances. Grabbing your water bottle, taking a large sip so you could dodge the questions you knew both girls were bursting to ask. You could feel Charlotte wrapping her arm around your neck, bringing her head close to yours - giggles already leaving her lips.
“I don’t know if Mac would approve of this arrangement” The comment gets Katrina to let out a laughing snort; now gaining the attention of Ellie. “What’s happening over here?”
All three of you start to talk over each other, your “Nothing!” the loudest - causing Katrina and Charlotte to burst into giggles once again.
Thankfully before either of them could say anything else, Tony walked in - gaining the attention of everyone in the changing rooms.
“Alright ladies, good job out there today! Make sure to get changed and ready for lunch. We’ll be waiting for you in the cafeteria”. A clap of his hands gets everyone moving again. Katrina, Charlotte and Ellie walk out together, as you start to pack your bag up.
Soon enough you were one of the last to start to leave the room. Your attention fixated on tying your hair up in a bun that you don’t realise arms wrapping around your waist and pulling you back into the changing room. Spinning you around, you’re met with brown eyes and a small grin. You let her guide you to a corner of the room, her grin growing bigger.
“I miss you” she confesses, as she pulls you closer to her. Your lips practically touching. You feel her give your hips a slight squeeze, a small shiver running down your spine.
“I’ve been here the whole time” you bite back, a smile playing on your lips as she rolls her eyes at you. Shaking her head, “You know that’s not what I mean”. You almost miss it with how small she sounded, so intimate.
You did know what she meant. Over the past couple of weeks, the two of you hadn’t been able to have a moment to yourselves. Between world cup preparations, and brutal training sessions mixed, with group hangouts, your time with the women in front of you had been limited.
“I know, I miss you too” The confession brings a smile back on Sam’s face, one of her hands moving from your hip to cup your face. Her thumb grazing your lip, her eyes piercing yours - watching your every reaction. The sharp breath you take, only makes her smile wider.
You ultimately stop the chasing game, smashing your lips onto hers, your hands gripping her hips and pushing her body closer to yours. Somehow she manages to deepen the kiss, her hand now cupping the back of your neck to keep you on her lips.
The kiss was your first taste of her in weeks and if you weren’t so desperate you would have blushed at the noises leaving your lips. Sam only seems to take that on with pride, her second hand now gripping your ass. You gasp into her mouth, her taking the opportunity to trace your lower lips with her tongue before she lips it into your mouth.
You had known your girlfriend long before you transferred to Chelsea from West Ham United almost two years ago. While you both had been on the national team together, you had met her back when your big sister and Sam had been teammates back in 2014.
Although there had always been some sort of attraction between the two of you - it wasn’t until you had gotten injured just under a year ago did the pair of you decide to really go for it.
You vividly remember coming into contact with an opposing team member, pain and suddenly you were on the floor. You were walked off the field, Sam trying to follow but ultimately had to finish the game. The final whistle couldn’t have come any faster, Sam rushing towards the medical room to find you still being checked over for any signs of concession they may have missed.
Three stitches later - which Sam had held your hand for - you were given the all-clear to head home. Sam took it upon herself to take you home, checking every few minutes to make sure you weren’t going to collapse on her on the car ride home. It wasn’t until you found yourself covered in blankets (in fresh clothes with help from Sam, because god forbid you somehow hurt yourself getting changed) on your couch, water and food ready for you that she finally started to relax. She made sure to stay close enough to you in case you needed her for anything, her eyes never leaving your face.
You can’t remember if it was before Sam had asked you if you needed anything else or after she offered to stay the night but your lips were on hers. And as they say, it only got better from there.
The two of you broke away from your quick make-out, a giggle leaving your lips as you shake your head. The two of you acting like horny teenagers.
“We should probably head to lunch before people start to notice we aren’t there” Your suggestion creates a groan from your partner, the frown appearing on her face reminds you of your nieces when they get told it's bedtime. Shaking your head, before bringing your lips back to hers for one last peck.
The sound of shoes squeaking against the floor breaks the atmosphere the two of you had created, the two of you breaking apart to find Alanna frickin Kennedy standing there, eyes wide and mouth hanging open. You feel your heart seize up, and it takes you a few seconds to remember how to breathe.
“Holy shit” was enough to leave her lips for you to break out of your shock. Your legs moving fast enough to grab her by the arms - somehow stopping the woman from running back to your sister.
“What the fu-” “-You can’t tell Mac” You cut her off, pleading as she closes her mouth. Looking over your shoulder to Sam before back at you. You can see the confusion on her face.
“Wh-what is - how did this happen?” You couldn’t find yourself saying anything, your mouth gaping but nothing coming out. “Lana-” Sam starts but immediately stops when the defender shoots her head up to look back at her.
“Mackenzie is going to kill you Kerr” The words made your blood run cold. You knew she was right.
Mackenzie Arnold, your big sister. You loved her, but you knew she had a protective streak when it came to you. She had managed to scare off every single person you had attempted to date, and as much as you love her - you wouldn’t let Sam be one of them.
Before you could even begin to beg Alanna to keep her mouth shut, you feel everything around you stopping once again.
“What the hell is going on here?” The sound of your sister’s voice is enough to make you drop your hands from Alanna and spin your body so you were facing her. You swear everyone in the room can hear your heart beating - but you can’t bring yourself to say anything.
Sam goes to say something but Alanna cuts her off “Just grabbing these two - Y/N was talking game plays when I walked in”
Your gaze shoots right back to the blonde next to you, a forced smile on her face but you swear you could kiss her right now. You swear you hear Sam let out a breath as well.
“Well hurry up - I got a plate ready for you Y/N” It’s enough to get you moving away, breaking away from the small crowd that was now in the changing room and following your sister out - not daring to take a glance back at Sam.
You make your way to the cafeteria with Mac, taking a seat next to Caitlin as your sister sat on the other side. A plate is ready for you as promised. You can’t help but note it takes an extra five minutes for Alanna to join you guys at the table, but don’t allow yourself to question it as your sister keeps her arm around you.
The bus eventually comes to pick everyone up, Alanna taking the window seat as you move in next to her. Almost immediately your head is on her shoulder, your eyes struggling to stay open. You miss the way Sam checks you over from her seat, the slight frown as she watches you pass out almost instantly.
You flinch in your sleep, Alanna’s hand coming to cup your cheek and push your head further into her neck - her soothing graze calming you enough for the twitching to stop almost instantly. Sam watched the whole thing, the frown only deepening.
She understood why you wanted to keep the two of you under wraps, she knew how protective Mackenzie was over you - and honestly, she couldn’t blame her. She knew you were just worried about upsetting your sister, but it killed her to have to watch Alanna look after you when she was sitting just three seats down.
A slight nudge wakes you up, your sister smiling down at you as you rub your eyes.
“Wakey wakey sleeping beauty” she grins, you sliding your head back into Lana’s neck and letting out a tired groan. It takes you a few more moments before you slowly start to get up - your body wasn’t obviously ready for it as your knees buckle, Mac grabs you instantly to steady you. “Woah there! Take it easy Y/N”
You feel Lana’s hand hold onto your waist, as she moves you out of the seat and towards your sister - who still had her hand holding your arm. You let the pair slowly guide you out of the bus, your eyes still half closed.
You don’t know how you managed to end up in your room, but the feeling of someone placing you in your bed and putting your blanket over you was enough for you to let sleep take over you once again.
The next time you wake up, it’s by kisses being littered all over your face. A grin appears on your lips as you slowly open your eyes to come face-to-face with Sam.
“Hey baby” she practically whispers, her finger tracing your face, slowly down around your lips, before bringing her face closer to plant a kiss right where her fingers were.
“Hi,” you whisper back, closing your eyes once more and letting out a content sigh. “I like this” you add, you feel Sam vibrate with a laugh, her hand now moving down to your arm.
“I like this too - could lay next to you forever” her voice just a little bit louder this time.
“Hm. that sounds nice”
The door slamming open doesn’t give you two enough time to break apart before your sister comes cruising in - carrying what you can only assume was dinner.
The silence is immediate. Until your sister speaks.
“What the fuck is happening here?” her yelling brings attention to your teammates, Alanna and Caitlin appearing in your room - both their faces frozen at the sight.
“Mac-” you try to start, she shuts you up as she raises her hand. Her gaze pointed directly at your girlfriend now sitting up next to you.
“Huh, what the fuck is this Kerr. Cause it looks like you're trying to fuck my little sister” Sam looks between the two sisters, trying to figure out the best way to calm the situation down. Your sister doesn’t appreciate the silence. “Which wouldn’t be right, because I know you swore you would stay the fuck away from her”
Your gaze breaks from your sister to Sam.
“What?” you know everyone in the room hears the way your voice cracks but you don’t care. You look and wait for Sam to deny it, but the way her eyes refuse to look at you answers your question.
Suddenly you can’t be in the room - you can’t have everyone looking at you. You manage to jump out of bed, but not without your foot getting caught in the sheets. You lose your balance, slamming your hip right into the bedside table. Sam and Mac both jump into action to help you but you flinch away from both their hands.
“Don’t” you manage you spill out, the tears streaming down your face, as you manage to slip through everyone and out into the hallway. The stinging from the bump was blatantly there. You hear your sister's voice but manage to turn the corner before you can make out what she’s saying.
You quickly knock on the first door around the corner, a few seconds later Katrina opens the door with Harper on her hip. Her smile drops when she notices the tears streaming down your face and your hand holding your sore hip. Within an instant, you're inside her room - the door closing behind you.
She guides you to her bed, harper noticing that you were sad as she threw her arms up to be grabbed by you. You let Harper distract you, as Katrina grabs you a glass of water from the bathroom.
“You wanna talk about it?” she asks, handing over the glass - you take a sip before placing the glass down. Something in the way she looked at you just made you spill everything.
You tell her how you started dating Sam after years of having a massive crush on her. How you felt like you couldn’t tell your sister because you were scared you were going to lose Sam if you did. How it didn’t matter because Mac found out anyway and you lost Sam anyway. While in the heat of your breakdown, you let it slip that you always felt that Sam couldn’t love you the way you loved her - and now it was proven. The way she couldn’t even begin to defend herself when your sister spilled that she had told Mac she wouldn’t go for you.
Katrina let you cry out to her, her hand never leaving your back as she soothed you down. She didn’t once stop you or try to cut in and for that you were grateful. Letting everything off your chest to someone, you suddenly felt so much lighter.
Once you feel like you’ve said everything you could, you turn your attention back to Katrina, she gives you a small smile as she tucked some hair behind your ear.
“Can I say what I think?” she asks, all you can do is give her a small nod.
“I think you don’t give yourself or the girls enough credit. Look I know you felt like you had to keep it from Mac because she wouldn’t approve or whatever but I know your sister and I know you. She would do anything for you Y/N. And if that meant being okay with you and Sam she would - because she loves you so so much. And I don’t know what conversation happened between Sam and Mac before but anyone with eyes can see just how much Sam loves you. I'm honestly surprised it took Mac this long to finally see that something was happening between the two of you. Sam looks at you like you hung the sun and the stars, and I promise you that whatever was said in that conversation before has nothing on what Sam feels for you now. Was it shit that this is how it all came out? Yes! But those two girls love you with all their hearts and would do anything to see a smile on your face”.
The tears had managed to start again as she spoke to you, her other hand now rubbing your knee too. “You really think so?” you mumble out, your gaze looking anywhere but at her face.
“I know so. And another thing! You don’t realise just how much those two would do for you. You don’t need to be worrying about losing either of them. And if they did walk away well it's their loss and I promise you the rest of us girls wouldn’t take it lightly.”
You let out a small laugh at the last part - a smile on Katrina’s face as she wipes away the final streaks left for the tears before. She takes Harper out of your lap, who had somehow fallen asleep during your breakdown.
“Now you know you’re always welcome here but I think you need to go talk to your two girls before they both break down this door looking for you”.
You say your thank yous, as you give her one last hug before making your way back to your room. The door is still open but when you walk in you notice that your bed has been made as well as the clothes you had left on the floor are now cleaned up. Sam is sitting on the chair by the small table in the corner of the room. Her lip in between her teeth - a nervous habit.
“Hey,” she croaks out, standing up to wrap her arms around you before stopping herself and bringing them back next to her side.
“Hi,” you mumble back. The silence feels weird between the two of you.
You both go to say something before pausing for the other to continue.
“No, you go,” you both say, causing a small laugh to leave both your lips.
This was going to be okay.
“I love you Y/N. I need you to know that. God, I love you so much it hurts. And I’ve loved you for a long time - longer than I probably should have but I do and I'm not going to apologise for that. Yes, your sister and I had a stupid conversation years ago that I regret but I promise you it wasn’t how I meant it. I just know that when I first saw you all those years ago I knew you were it for me and that was before I knew you were Mac’s younger sister. I’ve loved you since 2014 when you came to training and kicked my ass. I still loved you when I saw you jump in Mac’s arms and thought you two were together and I think I loved you even more when I realised you two were sisters and I still had a chance with you. Your sister had made our whole team promise we wouldn’t try anything on you and I stupidly agreed because I couldn’t understand why you would ever want someone like me. But here we are, and I’m so sorry but I’m not sorry for loving you and I will never feel sorry for that because you’re it for me, Y/N Arnold. You're my game-saving goal, you’re my everything and I will forever be in love with you.”
You don’t know when exactly you both started crying, but the moment she stopped talking you were in her arms - your lips smashed against each other. “God I love you so so much” she mumbles onto your lips as she continues to kiss you.
“I love you so much Sammy, you have no idea. And I'm sorry that I hide you from Mac, I just didn’t want to lose you”
“I know baby. I know. I don’t blame you”
“Bu-but” her hands were combing through your hair, relaxing you - like she knew it did “I’m going to talk to her, and tell her that she’s just going to have to get over it cause I’m not losing you. Not over this”
“You’ll never lose me Y/N. Ever” And sealed it with a kiss.
The two of you ended up in your bed, moments sealed between the two.
It wasn’t until a couple of hours had passed, Sam traced your face with her finger - the bedsheets covering both your bodies, smiles and secret glances shared between the two of you.
“I should probably talk to Mac” you whisper into the atmosphere, her tilting her head to catch a better look at you.
“Do you want me to come with you?” as much as you wanted to say yes, you knew you needed to talk to your sister alone.
“That’s okay - but thank you” you murmur back, pressing one last kiss on your girlfriend's lips, before slipping out from under the sheets and grabbing the first couple of items you could find on the floor and putting them on before making your way towards the door.
“I love you” Sam calls out, as you open the door.
“I love you more” You blow her a kiss, as you close the door and take a deep breath. Here goes nothing. Making your way down the hallway felt a lot more daunting than you were hoping. You knew in your head that your sister would love you no matter what, but you still couldn’t help but feel nervous.
You loved Sam, but you love your sister too and you don’t know what you would do without either of them.
You knock quietly on the door, taking a deep breath as the door swings open. Your big sister was rubbing her face, but you knew she hadn’t slept at all. The second she notices it’s you, she straightens up - her hand dropping.
“Mac..” you start, and you already feel the tears coming. It’s enough for your sister as she pulls you into a hug and brings you inside her room. She guides you to her bed, her embrace never leaving you. It was hard for you, the two of you rarely got into fights - even as kids.
You wait for her to say something, too scared to say the wrong thing; as much as you love your sister so was stubborn and you knew this.
“Macca, please” you almost choke out, moving your body so you were now facing her, her hands now resting on your legs.
“How long has this been going on?” Great. Straight to the point. You know there’s no point lying but you suddenly feel guilty telling her the truth.
“Since I had to get the stitches last year” Had it really been that long? Had you really kept this from your sister for that long? She lets out a sharp breath at the confirmation but doesn’t add anything. Your heart breaking.
“Please don’t hate me” The tears had officially started, and Mac’s head shoots up at your ask, her mouth falling open.
“I could never hate you” she chokes out, ripping her arms around you and pulling you into her embrace. Her hand patting your hair down. “I love you too much to even think about ha- that” You grabbed onto her harder as you heard her voice crack as she responded to you.
A comfortable silence falls between the two of you, embracing one another.
“I had always figured something had happened” she mumbled into your hair, before pulling you off her to watch your reaction.
“Wh-What do you mean?”
She let out a small sigh, as she looked up at the ceiling. “Sam called me up just after they had given you the stitches, told me everything that happened and how she was going to take you back home and watch over you. She sounded so worried and I could hear you in the background calling out for her. I tried not to think too much about it because I knew she would look after you, if not for me but for herself”.
You couldn’t help but feel your heart speed just a little faster at this new piece of information.
“She did”
“I know. I never doubted that Y/N. She cares about you. She always has and I know that - but all of this is scary Y/N. You’re my little sister and I just wanted to be able to protect you as much as I could. And I’m sorry that my protectiveness made you feel like you couldn’t tell me about you and Kerr”
You let a smile slip at the sound of your girlfriend’s last name. It was a trait your sister would do to anyone who would try to date you - one of her ways of trying to intimidate them.
“I know Macca, and I love you for being so protective of me - I know I’ll have you in my corner looking out for me but-”
“-But you love Sam, I know. And I know how much she loves you. I think I’ve known for a while, but I guess I just didn’t want to believe it”. She pulls you into another hug, kissing the top of your head. You let her embrace you as you let out a deep breath. You already felt a billion times better knowing Mac was okay with you.
“Are you mad at Sam?” you hear the sigh before you feel her shake her head.
“No, I’m not”
The seconds her words made sense in your brain, you somehow managed to pull her even closer to you, squealing as you thanked her over and over again. It wasn’t for a couple more seconds before you pulled away - a small grin appeared on your face. Your sister already knew this meant trouble.
“So you’re okay with…” you trail off, waiting for her to finish your sentence. She gives you a look as your smile breaks even wider, before nodding her head.
“Yes, I’m okay with you two” You let out a giggle as you grabbed her face and planted a kiss on her forehead - making sure to make an outrageous kissy noise with it. “I love you. I love you. I love you” you repeat over and over again as you keep kissing her head.
“Yes, Yes! I know! Now go back to your girlfriend before she comes here and I have to deal with watching you two do god knows what”
That’s all you needed to hear as you broke away from your sister and made your way back to your room - where you knew your girlfriend waited for you.
And you couldn’t wait.

“Mommy, is Santa coming now?”
“No, baby. Not until tomorrow.”
“...Is tomorrow now?” Your 4 year old Harper questioned, plopping herself down on the couch next to Javi, snuggling herself in between her dad and older sisters as you tucked the girls in with a big, fluffy blanket before finding your spot next to your husband.
“No Harper, Santa comes at night. When we go to bed. Remember?” Elliot sassed, letting out a huff of frustration at how many times her younger sister had asked about the long awaited arrival of Christmas morning.
“Elliot! If you’re not nice to Harper, Santa may not come!” Your oldest Lucy gasped, trying to police her younger sisters’ behavior within an inch of her life to ensure that she would wake up with presents under the tree tomorrow.
Elliot’s face went white in fear, immediately reaching over to her younger sister and pulling her in for a long hug. “Sorry, Harper. Santa will be here tomorrow morning… I hope.”
“I don’t think you girls need to worry, I’m sure Santa knows you’ve been pretty darn good all year long.” Javi grinned, leaning over on the couch to wrap the girls up in his broad grasp, making them giggle and squeal as he tickled and peppered them with playful kisses. “Okay, Pollitas (little chickens) what do you say you guys start the movie and Mommy and I go make hot chocolate?” Reaching over to give your thigh a little squeeze, Javi shot you a little wink, tilting over to press a soft kiss into your hair.
“Yay! Hot Chocolate!” The girls screeched in unison, waving their little arms in the air in excitement as they snuggled closer together on the couch. “Thank you!”
“De Nada (you’re welcome).” Javi beamed, letting out a little grunt as he pressed his hands into his knees, rising up off the couch, giving each of the girls one more kiss before making his way to the kitchen.
“Alright cuties, which movie, Rudolph or Frosty?” You smiled, making your way over to the TV to hold up their VHS options.
“Rudolph! Rudolph!” The three chanted, wiggling in excitement in their spots as you pressed the tape into the VCR and hit play on the remote, following Javi’s suit as you gave each of your daughters a quick kiss before making your way into the kitchen where you found Javi with a handful of Christmas mugs and an extra large can of whipped cream.
“Javi…” You sighed, letting out a little laugh as he set down the five mugs on the counter followed by the whipped cream, “I think we probably should go easy on the whipped cream tonight, you already know how hard it is to get them to bed on Christmas Eve, and a sugar high isn’t gonna help.”
“What makes you think I’d give ‘em too much whipped cream?” He smirked, shrugging his shoulders at you as he pulled the box of hot chocolate out of the cabinet, setting it next to everything else before snaking his hand around your waist, pulling you in closer to peck a quick kiss on your lips, staring down at you with his sweet brown eyes.
“Because,” You huffed playfully, pressing up on your tiptoes to give him another peck back between your words, “you spoil these girls rotten. They’ve got you wrapped around their fingers, Jav, each and every one of them.”
“Can you blame me?” He beamed, gesturing towards your daughters all snuggled together, giggling and singing along to the movie. The two of you couldn’t help but admire your beautiful girls, letting out a content sigh as you rested your head on his shoulder, taking a moment to soak in how truly lucky you were- because truth be told, you couldn’t blame Javi one bit.
“No, I can’t. God, they are cute, aren’t they?”
“Cute just like their Momma.” Javi grinned, sneaking his hand just a little further down your waist to grab a handful of your ass, making you let out a little squeal before giving him a playful smack in the chest.
“You’re lucky you’re cute.” You smirked, making your way over to the fridge to grab your milk, completing your hot chocolate ensemble. “I honestly should be having coffee right now considering how late we’re gonna be up, setting up presents and putting things together.”
“C’mon, we’re pros at this by now.” Javi teased, now getting to work on warming up the hot chocolate ingredients.
“Oh yeah? Tell that to Santa who insisted on getting the girls a brand new hockey net that still needs to be assembled, even after all of their gifts had already been bought.” You sighed, rolling your eyes at Javi as you began pouring the hot chocolate into the girls mugs, sprinkling mini marshmallows on the tops of their cups.
“They’ve been extra good…” Javi pouted, shooting you a guilty look as you handed him over mugs to be topped off with whipped cream.
“Well, I sure hope Santa didn’t lose the instructions to put it together because Mrs. Claus will not be assembling the net at 2 am.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll be done before then. Gotta make sure Santa has plenty of time to give you his North Pole before Christmas morning.” Javi chuckled, biting down on his lip to contain his laughter as you gave him another nudge, snickering along with him.
“You are such a dork.”
“What? You’ve been a good girl this year too, you don’t want Santa to stuff your chimney?”
That one made you almost drop the two mugs you had in your hands, letting out an audible snort as you set them down on the counter, burying your face in your hands to try and hold in your laughter.
“You are fucking ridiculous, you know that? Finish up these hot chocolates, you dummy, your daughters are waiting for you.” You smirked, picking back up your mugs as you began to make your way out of the kitchen.
“Like you’re waiting for my balls of holly later?” Javi quietly called out behind you, making you whip your head around to give him the biggest stank face you could muster, unimpressed. “What? That’s a good one.” Javi insisted, still laughing at his own joke.
“Ridiculous, I swear.”
It wasn’t long after your hot chocolates were finished that the girls had passed out on the couch, cuddled in a pile between you and Javi and buried under the blanket that had been spread across the 5 of you. You probably should have woken the girls up to get them off to bed, but you and Javi couldn’t help but relish in the moment of your family snuggled together in the soft glow of your Christmas tree lights, your hearts feeling fuller than any present under your tree could make you.
After the two of you finally agreed you had soaked in enough snuggles, you gently woke up Lucy as Javi slung Elliot and Harper over his shoulders to carry them off to bed, unable to stop yourself from admiring how broad he looked with your two girls and their matching pajamas and sleepy hair hoisted on either side of him.
You helped Lucy and Elliot get settled into their rooms, promising to make your way back to say goodnight after tucking in Harper, still sound asleep in Javi’s arms as he laid her down into bed, gently tucking her into her covers, brushing her tangled curls away from her face and pressing a soft kiss onto her forehead. Elliot was next, now half awake after being dropped off in her room, stumbling her way into her own bed, grumbling a half awake “Goodnight Mommy and Daddy” as she snuck into her sheets, nestled between the mountain of stuffed animals piled between her mattress and bedroom wall. You and Javi couldn’t help but chuckle at how quickly your little rock was back to being sound asleep as soon as she hit the bed, already inheriting her dad’s obnoxiously loud snoring at the ripe age of 6. Lucy was the last stop on your bedtime train, seeing as she was the most awake and coherent as she had at least been able to walk herself to bed after you and Javi had woken her up.
By the time you and Javi had gotten to her room, she had already settled into bed, pulling her comforter up to her face as she snuggled up with her worn and well loved stuffed penguin, her little face lighting up as the two of you made your way though the door.
“Hi cutie pie.” You cooed, sitting on the edge of her bed, gently stroking her hair as Javi settled down onto the mattress next to you. “You ready for Christmas tomorrow?”
Lucy nodded, a slight look of concern now spreading across her face as her big brown eyes stared back up at you. “Mom… Santa’s gonna come tonight, right? He won’t be mad at Elliot or Harper because sometimes they aren’t always good… Well okay, I guess I’m not always good either, but-”
“Amoricta (Little love),” Javi cooed, reaching over to reassuringly rub her back, cutting her off mid sentence, “You and your sisters are the best daughters that we could ask for. I know for a fact that Santa knows that. And I also know that he knows what a good older sister you are to Elliot and Harper. Don’t worry, Monita (Little Monkey), I’m sure Santa will come.”
“Okay Dad. Te amo (I love you). I love you too, Mommy.” Lucy grinned, snuggling deeper into her sheets with a content sigh, slowly beginning to close her eyes and drift off to sleep.
“We love you too, Lucy.”
“Te amamos mucho, linda (we love you so much, cutie).”
As you and Javi each gave Lucy one last kiss goodnight, pressing gentle kisses in her messy hair, you gently closed the door behind you, the soft click of the last bedroom door knob signaling your success at getting the girls to bed before the real work of Christmas Eve began. You turned around, holding out your hand to give Javi a quiet high-five to celebrate the easiness of your bedtime routine before snaking your hands around Javi’s waist, caging your chest with his as you looked up at him.
“I think that was the quickest we’ve ever gotten them to bed on Christmas Eve.”
“I don’t even think the whipped cream even had anything to do with it.” Javi teased, shaking you playful in his grasp.
“Pendejo (Jerk). C’mon, let’s go get these cuties some presents, Santa.”
After your 8th Christmas with kids, you and Javi had gotten present set up and placement down to a science. After several trips up and down the stairs to the basement, all of the gifts for the girls had been set under the tree as Javi got to work on setting up his inevitable last minute gift that seemed to make its way out of Santa’s Workshop every year, even when all of your agreed upon gifts had already been purchased.
Javi sat cross legged on the floor, directions and hockey net parts spread out in front of him as he grumbled to himself trying to connect two of the pieces together, letting out a frustrated sigh while you set out the plate of cookies the girls had decorated for Santa, laughing at your husband’s current fight with his late gift.
“How’s it goin’, Jav? Need me to call in the elves to ask for help?” You snickered, plopping yourself down next to him, grabbing a few pieces to help with assembling.
“Shut up. I think I’m almost done, I just have to put the net part on. Is everything else set up?”
“Mmmmhmmm. Including the reindeer carrots that are your turn to eat this year.”
“Fuck me…” Javi sighed, shooting you a menacing look, “Do I have to? You know I-”
“Oh believe me, I know how much you hate the carrots.” You giggled, mischievously raising an eyebrow at him, handing over a few of the pieces you had put together to connect to the existing frame of the hockey net. “I did it the past 2 years in a row. You are such a baby, you know that? Your turn for carrots this year, Peña. I made sure they were the biggest ones I could find. You know how hungry those reindeer are.”
Before Javi could respond, he was grabbing you around your side, tickling your stomach as payback as you laughed and squirmed in his grasp, flailing your arms as the two of you rolled over on the ground. Javi pulled you to lay on top of his chest as he rested his back against the floor, wrapping his arms around the small of your back, peppering kisses along your jaw and neck. You tried your best to keep your squeals semi-silent to prevent waking up the girls as his mustache brushed against your skin, the smile spread across his lips pressing over your body.
“Don’t think- don’t think your adorable antics are getting you out of carrot duty.” You snickered, cupping your hands around his cheeks, pausing his assault of kisses as his sweet brown eyes stared up at you.
“Me? Trying to get out of eating those terrible ass vegetables? Never. What would make you think that, Hermosa?” Javi smirked, his voice oozing with sarcasm as he shook his head at you, caging you tighter against his chest as his hands slid down the small of your back, now grabbing handfuls of your ass, making you let out a little squeal.
“Javi! You are so bad!” You playfully scolded, trying to pry off the tight grip his palms had on your backside to free yourself. “Presents and carrots first, you know the rules.” Smirking down at him, Javi let out a reluctant sigh, finally releasing you as he sat back up, picking up one of the remaining pieces of the hockey net left to assemble, shaking his head in a sarcastic disappointment at his failed attempt to at least prolong the inevitable.
“You don’t wanna let Santa stuff your stocking early this year, huh?” Javi teased, giving you a little shrug as he chuckled to himself at the terrible Christmas puns he had in stock tonight.
“Jesus fucking Christ, Javi…” You sighed, burying your hand in your face in embarrassment at your husband’s terrible joke, giving him a little shove as you stood up, making your way back to the kitchen to set up the rest of the cookies and carrots before the two of you headed off to bed. “You keep making those terrible puns and I’m gonna make you wrap your present before you give it to me.” You joked, eying the half hard bulge still in Javi’s sweatpants and gesturing your head towards your bedroom where your unopened box of condoms sat untouched in Javi’s nightstand- You had never started taking your birth control again after having Harper, and while you and Javi had agreed that 3 girls was the perfect number of kids, you also hadn’t necessarily been proactively preventing yourself from having a 4th. Javi had bought the box in an effort of good faith a few months ago, but hadn’t seen an ounce of action, despite all of the action that had happened without them.
“Fine, fine, I’ll be good, don’t put me on the naughty list yet. Like you’d want my present wrapped anyways…” Javi smirked, snapping together two of the last pieces of the hockey net before pressing his hands to his knees, letting out a grunt as he stood, and pushing the net by the rest of the already arranged presents.
“I swear, I’m sending you back to the North Pole.”
With your living room perfectly arranged for Christmas Morning, you and Javi made your way back to your bedroom, stopping to do a quick peek in on each of the girls as you traveled down the hallway. All 3 lay sound asleep in their beds, quietly snoring away, you and Javi making your way to your bedroom with a quiet high five for Christmas Eve accomplishments- presents assembled, girls asleep, the palpable excitement of the holiday hanging in the air.
“Bets on what time they’re up tomorrow?” You laughed, looking over at Javi, standing in the doorway brushing his teeth as you stripped out of your clothes and into your pajamas. Javi let out a playful huff before stepping back into the bathroom to spit out the rest of his toothpaste, setting his toothbrush next to yours before taking off his shirt and sweatpants and tossing them into the hamper with your freshly shed clothes.
“If it’s anything past 5:30, I’ll be happy.” He chuckled, climbing into bed with you, sneaking his way under the covers and wrapping his arms around your waist, making you giggle as he tugged you closer, pressing ticklish kisses over your neck and face as you playfully swatted at him. “If my girls are happy, I’m happy.”
“I’m sure the girls will be more than happy. Considering how much their Daddy spoils them rotten.” You teased, reaching up to cup Javi’s face, your thumb gently stroking the scratchy stubble of his cheek.
“What? Santa only comes once a year, right? I’d give ‘em everything if I could. They deserve it. Just like their Momma deserves everything too.” Javi gently rasped against the skin of your neck, softly sucking at your pulse point, forcing a breathy moan to escape from your mouth. “God I still don’t know what I ever did to deserve you, Hermosa. If you’re the only present for the rest of my life, I’ll die a fucking happy man.”
Letting his hands snake down your sides, Javi’s fingertips toyed with the hem of your shirt and pajama bottoms, his fingers sliding towards your heat as your lips met his with a gentle and tender passion. You ran your fingers through the dark curls of his hair as he flipped you onto your back, now pressing languid kisses down your stomach as he carefully tugged your pajama bottoms off your hips, tossing them to the floor. Letting your knees fall open, Javi’s soft kisses met the inside of your thighs, a smile spreading across his lips as you revealed the slick that had been pooling between your legs.
“And this…” Javi smirked, letting his kisses feather closer and closer to your core, leaving your hips to instinctively start to buck towards his face as you waited for his tongue to relieve the dull ache of your already throbbing clit, “This is the best fucking present I could ever ask for.”
Before you could even roll your eyes at Javi’s cheesy remark, a long, broad swipe of his tongue traveled through your folds, the sensation already enough to have you trying your best to stifle your moans to keep from waking the girls just down the hall from you. Javi took his time, letting his tongue work around your clit in a mix of flat, even strokes and circling swirls, his arm draped across your hips to hold you in place while his other free hand reached up to grab yours, your fingers intertwining, palms pressed together.
You bit down on your lip as his nose bumped against your throbbing bundle of nerves, letting his tongue plunge in and out of your cunt, the familiar tingle at the base of your spine beginning to build as your bottom half squirmed against the sheets, Javi’s firm grasp keeping you in place.
Javi had spent years memorizing every tick and twitch that made you writhe under his touch, learning each moan and movement that brought you closer to your end- so it should have been no surprise to you that Javi could sense you were close, yet the sudden switch of his mouth latching around your clit, sweetly sucking at your sensitive bundle of nerves, had the coil in your belly on the verge of snapping.
“Javi… Oh, fuck- baby, I’m close, don’t stop, please don’t stop, oh my god.” You whimpered, trying your best to keep your voice hushed, but despite how hard you tried, you could help but let a muffled moan escape from your lips as you squeezed down even harder on Javi’s hand to try and keep from being any louder than you already were. It wasn’t long before you felt your legs begin to tremble, and heat bloom in your core, your orgasm ripping through your body, leaving you panting and breathless as Javi pulled back from between your legs, a boyish grin spread across his shiny face, now covered in your arousal.
You could feel your chest rising and falling, your breathing heavy and labored as Javi crawled his way back up the bed, reaching down to help tug his boxers off his legs, revealing his cock, already painfully hard and dripping with precum as you thumbed at his tip, slowly wrapping your fingers around his length, stroking him as a low groan rumbled in his chest.
As he slotted himself between your legs, you guided his tip towards your entrance, collecting the slick dripping through your folds before caging his chest against yours, pressing into you inch by inch, the sweet stretch of his fullness making you whimper as he bottomed out against your cervix. His lips met yours, his mouth catching your whines as he began to slowly thrust in and out of you, like he was savoring every moment buried deep in the warmth and wetness inside you.
“Shhhhh, gotta be quiet for me baby.” He rasped against your skin, nipping at your ear, almost as if he was trying to remind himself as much as he was reminding you, a deep grunt rustling in the back of his throat. You nodded, your eyes meeting the brown pools of his, filled with an equal mix of love and longing as a tender smile lined his lips, whispering a soft “I love you” to one another before your lips were slotted together once again, your tongues swiping in the parted spaces between your mouths, your kisses slow and solicitous as you became more and more tangled in your sheets.
Each thrust of Javi’s hips felt deeper and fuller than the last, the lewd noises of your wetness and muted moans coating the walls of your bedroom only intensified as Javi wrapped his broad hands around the backs of your thighs, pressing your legs to your chest, and making you clench tighter around the sweet sting of his stretch.
“Fuck, you’re so fucking perfect, Hermosa. My beautiful fucking wife.” Javi mewled through gritted teeth, snaking his hand between your bodies to rub your clit, still swollen and puffy from your first orgasm. You let out a sharp gasp, so sensitive and worked up, already feeling yourself climbing towards your own high once again as the pads of his fingers circled your mound, and dick punched against your g-spot.
You could feel your cunt beginning to clench tighter around his cock, fighting with everything in you to keep from screaming out his name, fisting at your bedsheets and clamping your eyes shut, trying to hold out for any ounce of composure you had left. “Fuck, Javi, fuck- I feel like I’m gonna cum again, fuck- oh fuck.” You whined, eyes still closed, head tilted back against the pillow.
Suddenly, you felt Javi’s free hand slide under jaw, wrapping his fingers around your cheeks, gently forcing your head back down, making you open your eyes to see the wrecked look also beginning to spread its way across his face. “It’s okay, sweet girl. Just need to see that pretty face for me when you cum. Let go baby, I’ve got you.”
With only a few more thrusts and circles of your clit, you could feel the tingle at the base of your spine beginning to spread through every inch of your body, pleasure rushing through your veins as your orgasm crashed over you. Javi’s hand covered your mouth in just enough time to mute the ragged moans escaping your lips, the feeling of you clamping down around his cock as you came almost enough to take him out right along with you, fighting with everything in him to let you finish riding out your own high before he followed suit.
“Fuck, fuck- I’m not gonna last much longer, Osita. Oh shit- Fuck, where do you want me, baby?” Javi grunted, his thrusts becoming sloppier and faster with each snap of his hips, the hand covering your mouth now gripping the meat of your thighs, fingertips digging into your skin.
“Inside, please, fuck- I’m not ovulating, please, I need to feel you in me.” You whimpered, your brain barely functioning as you tried to form a coherent sentence, still reeling from your orgasm.
That was all Javi needed to send him over the edge, barely making it halfway through his last thrust before spilling deep inside you, his cock throbbing as warm spend covered your walls, milking himself of every last drop before letting his body slump into yours, your chests rising and falling in sync.
You both lay there for a moment, breathless and blissed out as you tried to compose yourselves, Javi letting out a soft hiss as he pulled out, resting his head against your chest as you ran your fingers through the damp curls of his hair, a satisfied smirk spreading across your face as you quietly giggled to yourself.
“What’s so funny?” Javi asked, perking his head up to look at you, his brow scrunched in confusion.
“Your sleigh feelin’ a little lighter? Because I think I did a pretty good job of helping Santa to empty his sack.” You couldn’t help but snort as Javi let out the most exasperated sigh before joining in your laughter, burying his face in his hand before looking back up at you.
“And I'm the ridiculous one....”
“MOMMY, DADDY! WAKE UP, WAKE UP, IT’S CHRISTMAS!”
If your daughters' high pitched shrieks and squeals weren’t enough to have you wide awake at the ripe hours of 5:46 A.M., their tiny bodies flopping onto the bed, squishing you and Javi under your covers most definitely was.
“Mhmmmmm, Merry Christmas, cuties.” You yawned, stretching your arms over your head, trying to wake yourself up quick enough to keep up with your girls’ boundless energy, giving Javi a stark nudge with your elbow to help wake him up from his log-like slumber. “Jav, wake up, baby.”
“Daddy! It’s Christmas, you gotta wake up!” Elliot insisted, now jumping on top of her dad, making him let out a loud grunt as her body landed on top of his.
“Yup, yup, I’m up, I’m up.” Javi grumbled, rubbing his hand over his face, trying to wake himself up enough to face the wrath of his energetic daughters. “Merry Christmas, Pollitas.” He smiled, reaching out grab the girls and pull them on top of his chest, making all of them giggle and squeal in delight as the 5 of you snuggled together in your bed.
“Can we see if Santa came? Please, please, pleaseeeeee?” Lucy begged, her sisters nodding in agreement, bouncing up and down on the bed with excitement as you and Javi inched yourself more and more awake.
“Yup, let’s g-”
“LET’S GO!” The girls screeched, already scampering off the bed and out the door as you and Javi pushed yourselves up off the mattress, groggily following behind your daughters with heavy footsteps trying to wake yourselves up from your lack of sleep the night before.
“Do you think Santa brought us coffee?” Javi mumbled, running his hand through his curls, ruffling the ends of his hair as you curled tighter against the oversized sweatshirt draped over your body, letting out a little half yawn, half laugh.
As the 5 of you finally made it down the stairs, you could hear the girls squealing and pattering around the kitchen, gleefully pointing to the table, where a now practically cleared plate for Santa and his Reindeer sat. “Mommy, look! Santa ate all the cookies!” Harper giggled, grabbing you and Javi by the hand and dragging you across the room to see the lack of sugary treats that had been left behind.
“And the reindeer too! I told you they love the carrots! They must have been really excited because last night, in the middle of the night, I could have sworn I heard the reindeer making happy noises for their treats too! Mom and Dad, I think they must have landed on the roof by your room, because that’s where I heard the noises coming from!” Lucy informed her sisters, leaving you and Javi’s faces both ghost white at the realization you two were 100% the reindeer that your daughter had heard last night.
“Oh wow, Lucy, that’s uh- Yeah, they really must love those carrots.” Javi barely choked out, the both of you grimacing at each other in horror, guilty looks plastered across your faces.
“Let’s go see what’s under the tree!” Elliot squealed, dashing towards the living room, completely oblivious to her dad’s comment, too focused on the gifts sitting under the tree for her and her sisters to care about any reindeer her sister may or may not have heard. Once again, your trio was off, sprinting to the living room, leaving you and Javi practically speechless as you wearily trailed behind them.
“I’ve always worried about them catching us, but never once did I think about the fact they’d mistake us for reindeer.” You quietly snickered, giving Javi a playful nudge, trying to laugh to keep from dying of embarrassment. “Santa’s definitely putting us on the naughty list next year.”
“Mommy! Daddy! Come here! Look what Santa brought us!”
“He got us a new hockey net!”
“Oh my god this is the best Christmas ever!”
“I think Santa will understand.” Javi smiled, pressing a soft kiss into your forehead, wrapping his arms around you, pulling you closer to his chest as you watched your girls scamper in joy around your living room, the soft glow of your Christmas tree lighting up their beaming smiles as they began the hunt for their presents. Because the truth was, in that moment, nothing else in the world mattered. Not reindeer noises, lack of sleep, or late nights setting up last minute presents- The only thing that mattered in that moment was the pure love and happiness radiating from every inch of your living room. At the end of the day, you couldn't care how many presents sat under your tree because the best gift you could ever ask for stood right beside you and in front of you, and that was enough to make you feel like the luckiest person on earth. You weren’t sure you’d ever understand what you had done to deserve the world’s most perfect present- Your beautiful family and the life you had built together with them.
“I love you so much, Javi. Merry Christmas.”
“I love you more, Osita. Merry Christmas, mi amor.”

laurence harper, mostly known as laurie, is applying to charlotte's looking for love by @natolesims. wish him luck - he needs it!
Laurie is the son of Bathsheba Harper and Lucas Munch. Laurie's family has always been a very affectionate and caring one. His mom, known for her bakery skills, always made sure there was a cake or a pie on the table everyday.
Laurie has an older sister and two younger siblings. He is very close with all his siblings: he is a confidant to his older sister, Ros; and a buddy and mentor to his younger siblings, Clair and Flo. Laurie always made sure his siblings always had help with the homework and a playmate for all occasions. It was also Laurie who would babysit his young siblings when mom and dad went on a date.
Additionally, Laurie is (most likely) the favourite grandkid of granny Luli and grandpa Michael Bell. Mostly because Laurie has always been very interested in everything related to countryside, animals and farming!
Despite not being very extroverted, Laurie always showed reasonable social skills, he always shown a lot of empathy and good manners. People usually like Laurie, he is a sweet, kind-hearted pixel. He is always eager to help. He has a communications degree and is following a charity organizer career. He is also developing a project to create the Harper's Foundation for the No Sim Left Behind.

— like ribbons in your hair
pairing: kyra cooney-cross x raso!reader part 2
summary: kyra finds herself filled with envy whenever she thinks about her fellow matildas player. a chat with charli clears a few things up for her
warnings: none
a/n: fics inspired by songs might be my fav thing to write !!
kyra just couldn’t understand it. it didn’t matter that the two of you were close, how good you were with harper or even if you had scored a game winning goal, there was just a bitter envious feeling that she couldn’t shake.
at first she had thought that maybe it was because you were just a more naturally gifted player than she was. the way you effortlessly glided across the pitch with the ball at your feet seemed almost superhuman to her, almost like you had actually been given powers by the football gods that made you this unstoppable player. the fact that raso was the last name printed on your back didn’t really help, either.
at first, people had asked if you could even live up to hayley as a player, wondering if you could keep up with your older sister on the pitch. you had proved to everyone that you were not to be underestimated when you scored your first international goal from a distance, giving the matildas the win. kyra still remembers how she felt when she watched you score that goal. the pride that she felt had been so overwhelming that she needed to catch her breath and it only got worse when you ran at her with a wide grin, throwing your arms around her in celebration.
she also won’t forget the sight of you jumping into hayley’s arms after the penalty shootout against france in the world cup. matching hair ribbons fluttered in the air amongst the excitement, kyra’s eyes always managing to find you through the adrenaline.
even now, sitting in the change rooms before the first qualifying match in perth, kyra’s stomach is in knots. as hard as she tries to avoid it, her eyes keep finding you and that damn ribbon in your hair. usually she found it endearing that you and hayley wore matching ribbons every game. except for right now when all it’s doing is drawing her eyes to you.
kyra huffs in frustration before wringing out her hands and wiping them on her shorts in an attempt to let loose some of the pent up energy. charli, ever observant, sees kyra’s actions and furrows her brows in confusion. she takes note of the nerves that have settled themselves on the young midfielder’s shoulders but chooses not to say anything, deciding that after the game would be a better time for that conversation.
soon enough the team is walking out to the screams of keen fans, every player hyper-aware of all the eyes that have been on them since the world cup. even through the screams, anthems and kick-off that stupid yellow ribbon still catches kyra’s eye.
—
the game against iran had done a bit of a number on the team. with play constantly stopping and starting, everyone had been growing frustrated and tired by the end, just wanting to wrap it up.
kyra felt sluggish the whole way back the hotel, wanting nothing more than to have a shower and crawl into bed. her head rolls on her neck tiredly as she gets settled into her seat on the bus, her eyes wandering over all the faces of her teammates until it lands on yours.
despite being visibly tired, you were still smiling as you talked with mary, alanna and mackenzie. the lopsided grin currently spread on your face only widens as you laugh and alanna and macca’s tired banter, the four of you giggling at practically nothing.
maybe it’s the way kyra’s eyes soften, or the small smile that was slowly creeping onto her face, but something about kyra catches charli’s attention.
the blonde elbows the girl sitting next to her, evidently snapping her out of the trance you had put her under
kyra’s brows furrow in confusion “what?” she asks, rubbing her left bicep “what’d you do that for?”
charli tilts her head “what’s wrong with you today? it’s like you’ve just been going through the motions”
adjusting her sleeve, kyra leans further into her seat and away from her friend “it’s nothing” she mumbles, embarrassed that she’s obviously been caught.
charli clicks her tongue “you were fiddling before the match and as soon as it ended you were stuck to mini’s side like glue” she points out, lowering her voice “do you have a problem with y/n?”
kyra’s eyes go wide and she immediately squeezes charli’s wrist before trying to subtly look at the rows behind them, conscious of the fact that your older sister sits just two rows behind her.
she spots hayley drifting off, airpods in and eyes half-lidded and sighs deeply, turning back to look charli in the eye
“it’s not a problem” she emphasises “it’s just… a feeling”
the defender frowns in confusion “a feeling?” she questions “what type of feeling?”
kyra seems to lean further into her seat, now sitting with her back leaning against the window next to her “not a good one? i don’t know!” she exclaims as quietly as she can, trying to hide her embarrassment “it’s like everytime i look at her my stomach ends up in knots! i get this, like, jealous feeling in my chest and i hate it.”
you can practically see the lightbulb go off in charli’s head “jealous?” she asks “why didn’t you tell me you felt like that?”
“because it’s embarrassing!” kyra rushes, keeping her voice hushed “it makes me feel weird knowing i’m embarrassed of one of my close friends”
charli leans her head on her seat, now almost fully facing kyra side-on, and she smiles “are you sure it’s jealously, kyra?” she asks softly, not wanting to confuse or freak her friend out.
kyra scoffs and shakes her head in disbelief “i don’t know what else it could be” she grumbles “like, for instance, whenever she laughs with sam or when she ran straight to mary after she scored in the world cup my heart feels like it’s folding in on itself” kyra explains dully, clearly ashamed of this negative feeling she holds towards her friend “i hate it.”
charli soaks up kyra’s words, wary of what she says next “wanna know what i think? i think that you’re not actually jealous of y/n” she says softly, ducking her head in an attempt to catch kyra’s eye.
kyra looks at her confused “you really aren’t making any sense”
huffing, charli shift her weight “maybe you’re just trying to convince yourself that you’re jealous of y/n because you don’t want to admit that you actually have feelings for her.”
a pregnant silence overcomes the duo as kyra processes what charli has just suggested. her brain is completely frozen and she can’t meet charli’s eye, choosing to instead direct her attention elsewhere.
her eyes once again find you, because of course they would, and she begins tracing your facial features with her eyes from afar. she follows the line from the top of your forehead to the bottom of your chin, focusing on how peaceful you look even when you’re half asleep.
the revelation comes slowly, charli’s hushed words turning over and over in kyra’s head until she’s dizzy. her eyes widen ever so slightly, and her mouth goes slightly agape as kyra reminisces on your friendship and everything that has lead to this conversation in the quiet of the bus. unfortunately, as quick as it comes, it goes. the bus coming to a stop pulls the midfielder out of her crisis and back into reality, the quiet now slowly being filled with tired groans and moans of players stretching their limbs and shaking the pins and needles out of their legs.
charli’s eyes don’t leave kyra’s face as she stands, careful not to bump into mackenzie behind her. the blonde leans down, getting right in kyra’s personal space, and whispers delicately “just think about it, okay?”
all kyra can do in that moment is nod, aware that she probably looks more dazed than she feels, and stand in her place. she gathers her things and waits for charli to begin to walk down the isle of the bus, following her teammates into the comfort of the hotel with you on her mind.

I think the Nancy Drew games do a really good job at portraying grief. I just finished replaying TOT, and I love how Pa is such a chipper character but has these moments of getting caught up in the memory of Ma and delivering some great speeches about the danger of tornados. Joy in CAR shows the anger that can come with grief and the fear of confronting it. Takae shows the guilt of outliving one's child, and I love how the story of the sparrow or taking care of a piece of land help show that. Similarly, Harper in GTH has the line about being "older than [her] older sister and older still today." And who could forget Clara's "Haven't I suffered enough for you?" that speaks to guilt of a different kind- she inadvertently caused Charlotte's death and has had to deal with the guilt and shame for her whole life. It's easy to miss these moments, but they are so unflinchingly human, and I think the ability to capture that is something that has set the Nancy Drew games apart.

The Blue Umbrella
Her POV [Pt.2]
Warnings\ Not proofread, fem!reader, okay so maybe not that slow paced but theres a huge time skip from previous part to this part… maybe two years? She’s like college first year in this oh and I don’t know how colleges work I did a lot of research (watching dramas lol) so I hope this is a good part
♡pt1>>
The last few years of my life were quite uneventful. Just me studying to get into my dream university! Today is my first day and I’m so excited! Mel is helping me move into my dorm, my parents were… too busy to care.
“That’s all Mel! O-oh don’t drop it, NO!” My things scattered on the floor as she accidentally dropped the box. “Ooops” she muttered. I put the box I was carrying down on my bunk before rushing to help her gather my clothes from the floor.
“Oh?”
“What?” I turned to her. Then, I saw what was in her hand. Oops. “Hey! Give that here!!”
“No. Why do you still have this?” She asked pointing to my blue umbrella.
“Because I haven’t met the owner again after that day! Now give that here!”
“You could’ve left this at home”
“Well, I didn’t?”
“AAAAA MY SISTER STILL LIKES HIM!!”
“STOP MAKING ASSUMPTIONS.” I could feel my face starting to get warm, noo!! I snatched the umbrella from her hand before setting it aside on my table and glaring at her. She just grinned at me. Before I could say something, I heard some voices from outside coming this way. What if it were my roommates? The other three bunks were already decorated and set up.
As the voices grew closer, I couldn’t help but feel nervous, I looked over at Mel who gave me an assuring smile and thumbs up. “Sounds like your roommates are here sis!”
Sure enough, a second later, three girls walked in animatedly chatting with one another. They stopped in their tracks when they saw me. I gulped. Why are they staring?
“Oh hi! You must be our fourth roommate, nice to meet you. You’re so pretty. What’s your name? I’m Harper, this is Olivia my twin sister.” She pointed to the other brunette. “And that’s Cherry.” She said pointing to the third girl. She had blonde hair with blue streaks.
“My real name is Charlotte,” she laughed “but she’s been calling me that since the day we met.” Charlotte piped in.
“Uh my sister is a bit too extroverted so just tell us if you feel too awkward by that lol” Olivia said.
“Well, I’ll get going now, bye y/n, bye girls have fun” Mel said as she quickly walked away and left me alone. All alone. With no advice on how to talk. And make friends. Yay.
“H-hi. I’m y/n. That was my older sister Mel, she was helping me move in…”
“Hi y/n! That’s such a pretty name. Pretty name for a pretty girl! Do you mind if I call you n/n?” (nickname)
“Lol that’s creative, Harper. Wait… you’re Harper right?” I asked. This is so embarrassing…how did I already forget their names.’ I groaned internally. “She’s Harper, I’m Olivia. Olivia is the calmer one, Harper is the hyperactive one. Exactly like Leo, he’s a bit more eccentric though.” Olivia told
“Who’s Leo?” I asked
“Our brother, you’ll know soon enough. He’s too annoying. “ Harper told.
The initial awkwardness started to fade away after we started talking more. It was almost nightfall and the girls had helped me put the rest of my stuff scattered around. Thankfully it wasn’t too much to be a burden.
Suddenly, Cherry’s eyes fell on the blue umbrella sitting on my table, her curiosity piqued. “Ooo, pretty umbrella! Where’d you get it?”
“Uhm long story”
“Hey! Is that…?” Livi(Olivia) looked at Harper with a confused expression.
“Is that what?” I asked.
“Nothing… our brother had a similar umbrella like that lol. So where’d you get it?” Harper asked
“It’s…quite a long story.” I chuckled awkwardly.
“Oh don’t worry, we love a good story!” Livi chirped.
“Maybe some other day, kinda sleepy right now” I yawned.
“Awww” Harper got disappointed.
“Sorr-“
“It’s okay n/n. Harper she got here today. It must’ve been a hectic day for her, her parents also couldn’t come.” Livi scolded her. Lol
“Oh yeah… why didn’t they?” Cherry asked.
“Later. Good night girls.”
“Night n/n”
I crawled into my bunk and turned of the lamp. Livi was still reading her book but the other two went to sleep too. I couldn’t help but think of the twins’ reaction to my umbrella. There’s no way that… Like that’s absolutely impossible… I mean it isn’t but, this is such a coincidence if it is true! Is the umbrella really their brother’s? And… my parents… Should I tell them? Or will they think I come from a too messed up family, and judge me, and not want to be friends anymore? No, I don’t wanna mess this up… A single tear made it’s way down my face. Followed by a few more… I didn’t bother to wipe them.
My eyes started to close on their own. With a weary sigh, I closed my eyes. Everything will be alright. At least I hope so…
That was my last thought before I felt the gentle tug of sleep. I curled up into a ball and surrendered myself to the comforting embrace of slumber. I can worry about this later. Today was exhausting. I let go of all my anxiety and allowed myself to drift into dreamland.
_____________________________________________________
A/n>>> I feel like this part was kind of short and boring so here’s a little bonus part, livi’s pov after y/n falls asleep. I hope you liked this part though. Sorry for the long wait<3
The Blue Umbrella
Olivia POV [Pt.1]
______________
I sat on my desk, engrossed in the new book I was reading. Today was a day of laughter and chatter as we got to know about y/n. She completed our friend group, our little family. With a contended sigh, I closed my book and got ready to go to sleep. But the sight I saw when I woke up shattered me.
I had noticed the bit of sadness that lingered behind her bright smile, especially after her parents had been mentioned. Maybe she missed them, or maybe there was more to it? She didn’t really seem eager about bringing them up.
But even after that, seeing her tear-stained face, made my heart clench. Does she cry to sleep every night? I truly hope not.
A surge of concern washed over me, mingling with a fierce determination to uncover the source of y/n’s pain. She may have only just arrived but she was already part of our little family, I couldn’t bear to see her suffer alone, in silence. With a silent vow, I resolved to reach out to y/n. I want her to know that she doesn’t need to face the darkness of the world all alone. I want her to know that we’re here for her, always will be. We’re here to support her and comfort her when she feels gloomy, when her skies are grey and cloudy. We’re here for her. No matter what.

The Rookie and allowing women to fuck up
So what I genuinely love about The Rookie, is that in a show where you’d expect the opposite our female characters are diverse, complex, and extremely human. Each one of our main three have their different strengths, weaknesses, triumphs and honestly what is the most important to me, their fuck ups.
Starting with Lucy Chen (the character I relate to the most): Lucy is such a good character to me because her strength has always been presented as her empathy, her ability to put herself in anyone’s shoes is what makes so good. Her traditionally feminine trait is seen as a strength by everyone who knows her. BUT Lucy also fucks up, she makes mistakes. She’ll overthink things to the point of paralysis. She was fully prepared to, and was willing to cheat on Chris with Tim, and then stayed with him for months out of guilt and fear. Lucy fucks up! She makes huge mistakes. Which is what makes her such a good character. Lucy will make impulsive choices, she’ll try and solve things without consulting others (Metro), and she’ll think she was right. Lucy will read things incorrectly and she’ll react badly, but she’s the most empathetic, kind, adorable person. She’s human as hell. Next: the one, the only Nyla Harper: Nyla is such a good flawed character, because she also thrives at some of the same things Lucy does. Nyla is a rockstar UC detective, Lucy also thrives at UC, but holy shit these two women are not the same. Nyla’s skills and strength do not come from her sense of empathy. Nyla’s skill at UC come with her ruthlessness. Her ability to create a shell around her so impenetrable that people just don’t know the real her. Nyla is so professional, and so competent, and her personal life is a goddamn mess, for a while. She’s bad at opening up. She did choose UC over her family and had to fight tooth and nail to get her daughter back. When she finally did, and her life calmed down, she dated two guys cause she wanted the attention! She was cruel to Aaron because it was for his own good (she thought she knew best). She used Penelope’s past against her, which was an objectively fucked up thing to do, but it was human and it was a *mother’s* move. Next: Angelaaaaaa Loooopeezzzz Angela is such a good character y’all. She’s someone we’ve seen put on so many different hats. Her TO’ing was different than Tim’s, Talia’s, or Nyla’s, she was Jackson’s older sister. She taught him, she didn’t wash Jackson out on his first day. She looked out for this kid. But also Angela wanted desperately to make detective, her failed tip trading scheme was her going too big. She was overconfident, and it cost her. But she was a badass, she just kept trying. But also we’ve seen Angela be insecure, in her relationship with Wesley, with her mother, and as a mother. Angela Lopez is a badass, but she is so so so soft sometimes. And she’s not perfect, her single minded devotion to catching Elijah, her need to *the* person protecting her family. So many fuck ups there. So many better ways to handle it. But she didn’t, and that’s what makes her Angela. and OH a woman on television being allowed to have realistic views on having another kid. Angela was allowed to be hesistant and not excited about being pregnant again, and no one thought she was being a villain or being terrible. She was scared about her life changing *again* and that was okay. She’s So Human.
