Book: Immortal Desires

Pairing: Gabriela Adalhard/Cassie Harlow

Rating/Warnings: M, contains scenes of nausea and descriptions of throwing up, blood, depression, and refusal to eat

Summary: Gabriela still hasn’t gotten the hang of drinking blood

The nausea is threatening a reappearance again, there’s a drip in the faucet, she’s long gone. There’s nothing Gabriela is willing to do about it right now.

Willingness. What a concept.

The solution sits there, blatantly taunting. She graces it with the finger, sending a mental apology moments afterwards to whoever had to be drained for this.

It’s never getting easier.

She catches a forced sight of herself in the mirror, breaking gaze just as quickly. Silver follows her back, and she loses her reflection. There’ll be no looking at herself anymore, now that it won’t result her in seeing herself.

‘Can’t see what’s gone’ she reminds herself. She curls up. The drip goes on.

Her days have blended into this lately, since she died. Since she awoke with her stopped heart in her throat and the keen eyes of a community watching her every move. (They are a community, for all she says about them. Just not one for her). She wonders for a moment if they’re at all entertained by what she presents to them now. For a marvelous moment, she remembers she doesn’t care, and manages a partial smile.

A knock, and seeing Nicole’s responding smile startles her out of the stupor, and she scrambles to sit up in a decent position. Her hoodie is crumpled she knows, and her hair in an extremely messy ponytail. Not ready for company. Again though, this not caring thing does wonders for her.

“How’re you holding up?” Nicole questions, and Gabriela’s eyes dart to the bag. Nicole sees it too, but thankfully she keeps whatever sympathy she’s sure she’s harboring to herself.

“Holding up fine” she lies, and her eternal punishment comes through exactly moments later. Cas Harlow is here, and she looks as though she’s been handed a lottery ticket. She has no energy for the smugness.

“Cas” Nicole acknowledges, and Cas immediately ignores this pleasantry to eye the bag. Maybe she’ll keep it there rather than deliver it to Shiloh’s door later that night- it’s clearly a conversational point.

“You’re still holding out?”

“It’s a principle-” she begins. Harlow’s laugh is as amused as she imagines she can get, the usual rough edge sneaking its way through.

“It’s killing you, is what it is. Look, you don’t have to hunt. But the blood was given anyways. So feed. You know you want to”

It’s an act of otherworldly, hunger induced defiance that has her lift the bag from the table, bringing it to her lips. She doesn’t need to much less want to- has more control than Cas. Than them. She can keep herself from doing this.

Her fangs dip, and she thinks she’s never eaten before this. The ecstasy overtaking her as the blood coats her tongue and eventually lips as she grows sloppier elicits the faintest moan, clearly not lost on Cas.

The bag is drained down to the dredges, and she could swear she hears Cas laugh as she growls in her desperation to get more. Another bag is downed, somehow smoothly procured by Cas’s deft hand.

“Lifted it” she explains, surely purposely ignoring Gabe’s (unfocused) glare of judgment. “Hey, this one was given by L. Russel! You should start a collection- some people treat doing this like a free ticket to paradise and give every couple months. Maybe they’ll come through for you again- since you like the taste so much apparently”

It’s all it takes to Gabriela on her feet and in the bathroom, a nausea even stronger than before threatening to overtake her. Footsteps follow, but whoever it is isn’t important. Who is is this L. Russel, who’s unwittingly extending the life force and strength of a monster.

She can feel Cas’s hand steadying her, hyper aware of the surprisingly gentle touch that grasps the stray hair and chain of her cross out of her way as she vomits. Her fingers linger over a rash from the faint bit of silver mixed with the gold, brushing at it with a careful reverence. It’s unexpectedly grounding, and she flinches back from the stained red bowl- leaning against Cas. It’s a comfortable position- she must have shifted to make the room for her.

She sits with that for a moment, with a bloody toilet bowl and Cas Harlow and a mouthful of blood her body stubbornly refused to let go of, and somehow it’s the most grounded she’s felt in some time.

She hasn't since she was 12, she did keep all her stuffed toys though, they're just put away in boxes hahah. She was kinda holding onto a lot of her childhood stuff in general so she could give it to her own future kids, but that's not gonna happen anymore obviously.

Can they take care of a plant? What about a pet? What about a child?

I think she'd be kinda ass at keeping plants alive because they're not very 'present' or sth I guess? She's not super into plants anyway. Pets are fine though, she and her mom have a dog and she helps taking care of him and tends to be the one who walks him. She could definitely take care of a kid I think, she had experience with babysitting and in general she's just very fond of kids and rly has tht uhh maternal instinct? I guess lol.

Who will they take advice from, no matter what it is? Who won’t they take advice from, no matter what it is?

Gabriela I think, she just sees her as someone who tends to think stuff through well and in general tends to look her way when she's not sure about what to do. I think there's also some Clement elders she really respects and would go to for advice om some things.

I think Margo and Scott r people she'd just neverr listen to lol. Sometimes out of spite lol 😭 like not even when it's about Cas even though they've known him way longer than she has, like if she'd ever needed to ask sth about him she'd ask Val.

What do they like that nobody else does?

Idk! I'm always rly bad with this one cuz I'm like welll surely there's other people who like that.

Do they like being called pet names? Do they call other people pet names? What’s their go-to?

She often thinks they're cringe lol, she feels neutral at best. One exception is 'angel' which makes her feel some type of way but literally no one calls her that LOL. She only ever jokingly calls Cas and Gabe pet names hahah.

What's their dream date place?

Hmmm I think like location wise she likes the idea of something high up that takes some effort to reach. Like the tower in book 2 I guess? Stuff like that

What would their Halloween outfit be?

She always picks a theme and then makes it sexy lol, before going out for the night she'll often stay home for trick-or-treaters though and then she'll just wear a witch hat with her regular clothes.

Noah Harris x Gabriela Adalhard

Part 6 - Finale

Now a Vampire, Noah has to adjust to a different kind of life. One that he has to put some things in place for.

Written in the present tense

Warnings: None

In this, Immortal Desires MC (Charlie) is with Cassius Harlow while My Two First Loves MC (Emma) is with Mason and Ava is with an original character called Sarah.

A few days after being turned, Noah stands before Lewyn and Astoria in the Nexus alongside Gabriela, Cas, and Charlie.

Astoria - The four of you have a lot of nerve. You were under orders to remain out of the way.

Noah - No we weren't. You were all too busy arguing amongst yourselves.

Cas - Again.

Astoria - Enough.

Gabriela - Cas was the one who killed the Werewolf. What did you do?

Lewyn - Careful, Huntress.

Cas - Threatening your own kind. Certainly consistent, aren't you.

Astoria - Get out of here. All of you. I don't want to be dealing with any of you again.

Lewyn and Astoria take their leave and the other Elders soon follow. The four return to town, where Cas and Charlie go their separate ways from Gabriela and Noah. Returning to Gabriela's home, Noah notices a couple of cars pulling up and he smiles. The back door of the front car opens and a young girl runs over to Noah. He kneels down and wraps his little sister in a hug.

Noah - Hi, Hazel.

Ava steps out of the Driver's seat as Sarah jumps out, walking over. He gets to his feet and wraps the two in a hug.

Noah - Thanks for coming.

Ava - It's good to see you.

Sarah - Hazel was excited the entire time.

The occupants of the other car steps out, and Noah looks over at Emma, Mason, and his brother, Elijah.

Noah - Come on in.

They all head in and Noah joins Gabriela in the the kitchen.

Noah - You alright?

Gabriela - Little nervous.

He kisses her forehead and the two lace fingers, heading out.

Noah - Everyone, this is Gabriela.

Ava - So this is the girl who stole your heart.

Ava extends a hand out to Gabriela and she shakes it.

Ava - I'm Ava.

Gabriela - Nice to meet you.

After making all the introductions, the only one left for Gabriela to meet is Hazel. She kneels down and holds a hand out to the young girl.

Gabriela - I'm Gabriela.

Hazel - Hi, Gabriela!

Hazel shakes her hand, making Gabriela laugh.

Gabriela - You know, your brother has quite a few presents for you.

Hazel - Really?!

Gabriela - How about I show you? We can get to know each other at the same time.

Hazel - Can I, Noah?

Noah - Of course you can.

Gabriela stands and holds her hand out to Hazel. Taking it, the two head to the guest room and Gabriela gives Noah a knowing look. Waiting for the door to close, Ava smiles.

Ava - I like her.

Emma - You do look to be happy.

Noah - I am. But there's some things I need to tell you all. Some rather big things.

Noah takes a deep breath, Noah tells them everything about how Vampires exist, and all that happened with the Werewolf that lead to him becoming a Vampire himself. Mason looks at his friend in shcok.

Mason - You didn't bring us all here to...

Noah - No, I'm not going to drain you all dry.

Ava - So what does this mean now?

Noah - It means I'm going to be staying here in Crimson Beech. With Gabriela.

Elijah - Hazel won't like that.

Sarah - I'll say! What're you going to tell her?

Noah - I will explain everything to her. But not right now. I don't want to overwhelm her. I'll do my best to try and visit you all, but it'll have to be during the night outside of the town.

Ava - What does it feel like?

Noah - I still feel like me. It's mainly my senses that feel the most different.

Meanwhile, in the guest room, Gabriela hands Hazel a large gift bag, sitting down next to her.

Gabriela - Here you go.

Hazel - Thank you.

She opens the bag and begins going through all the items that Noah has picked up for her over the last few weeks since he left. She smiles at the wolf plush, which makes Gabriela smile as well.

Gabriela - Hazel, I don't know if you've been told, but your brother and I are together.

Hazel - Ava told me.

Gabriela - Are you okay with it?

Hazel - I guess so. You seem really nice, and you make him happy.

Gabriela - Thank you. I hope we can get along.

Later, whilst the others book some rooms, Noah tucks Hazel into the bed that he had been using in the guest room.

Noah - I'll be out in the lounge or kitchen for a bit if you want anything.

Hazel - Okay.

Noah - I love you.

Hazel - Love you.

He switches the lamp off and leaves his little sister to sleep. In the kitchen he joins Gabriela and she hands him a water.

Noah - So that's my family and friends.

Gabriela - They seemed to take the whole you being a Vampire thing quite well.

Noah - There were a lot of questions.

Gabriela - I can imagine.

Noah - How'd it go with Hazel on your own?

Gabriela - I think it went okay. She's a sweet kid.

Noah - I'd do anything to keep her safe.

Gabriela - I know.

A couple days later, Noah sits out on the steps with Hazel as the others pack the cars, preparing to tell her the one thing he was dreading.

Noah - Hazel, I'm going to be staying here with Gabriela.

Hazel - What about home?

Noah - This is going to be my home now. Things have happened that mean I have to be here.

Hazel - Can I live with you?

Noah shakes his head.

Noah - I promise though, I will always be there for you. No matter what.

Hazel throws her arms around her brother and he wraps her up in a tight hug, closing his eyes. Pulling back, Noah gives his sister a smile.

Noah - Okay?

Hazel shakes her head and Gabriela joins them on the steps, placing a hand on Hazel's shoulder.

Gabriela - You can come visit any time, and we'll come to you as well.

Hazel - Okay.

Ava walks over and holds out a hand to Hazel.

Ava - You ready?

Hazel nods and she gets to her feet. Noah walks with them over to the car.

Ava - I'll look after her.

Noah - Thank you. When the time is right, I'll tell her the full story.

Ava - Just say when.

Ava pulls Noah into a hug.

Ava - Be safe.

Noah - You too.

The step back and Noah returns to Hazel as she does her seatbelt up.

Noah - Are you alright?

Hazel nods and Noah manages a small smile.

Noah - I'll see you soon. And you can call me whenever you want.

Hazel gives him a genuine smile.

Hazel - Can I come here for chistmas?

Noah laughs, nodding.

Noah - I'm sure that can be arranged.

He notices her holding the wolf he got her from Hunt's Peak.

Noah - Got a name yet?

Hazel - Not yet.

Noah gives his sister one last hug before closing the door and waving. As the cars disappear, Gabriela joins him.

Gabriela - You alright?

Noah - That was a lot harder than I built up in my mind. And I built up a lot of difficulty.

Gabriela - Just say the word, and we'll go to Eastridge.

Noah nods and the two head inside. Sitting down on the couch, Gabriela lies against him.

With everything out in the open, Noah and Gabriela don't know what's next, but they know they'll face it together.

I'd like to participate! I feel like I might've worded some of it a bit confusing so for any questions my inbox is open for anon asks!

Also I'm still pretty new in the fandom so I get that whoever gets me might not be familiar with me/my characters, but don't worry about if they might be OOC if you write something or something because I don't mind!

Notes that might help: -I tend to draw them differently looking than how they canonically look, but you can choose for yourself if you want to portray them like that or stick to their canon appearance if you do anything visual, I'm happy with either! My headcanons for their appearance can be found on their tags on my blog: cas' tag gabriela's tag

-For anyone that's more familiar with Ripley (my mc) I'm ok with her being included, but if you're not familiar with her I feel like it'd be too hard because she's basically a separate character from the canon mc now.

2. Blades of light and shadow Pairings: Rex(bigender!orc) x Tyril or Rex x Imtura Rex uses she/her and he/him pronouns, you can interchange or just pick a set, either is fine. More info + appearance refs can be found on her tag

Notes that might help: -I'd also love anything with Rex and her oldest daughter Ruby, she can be found under this tag

-Tyril and Imtura are in a polyamorous V relationship with Rex, but if you wanna portray them as a throuple that's fine too because the idea is interesting to me lol. Or portray them with only one of them of course.

3. Queen B F!mc Billie Hughes with either Zoey or Poppy

-Billie's dynamic with Poppy is very unhealthy, they're not in a proper relationship (Billie only loves and cares about Zoey) like it's basically like in the books

îmi detest cu înfricoșare ziua de naștere nu există amintire care să mă bucure în ziua de nouă a ultimii luni din noul mileniu feminitatea obiceiului de a-ți plânge ochii și plămânii până în zori pentru a trece 24h făcută mic ghem o fetiță plângăcioasă acoperită de o pătură înflorată genunchii în barbă spatele încovoiat gura alungită din colțuri și buze apăsate pe dinți ochi umflați roșii iritați goluri de aer prin gât și un cap greu cât o piatră de temelie a bisericii catolice 7 ani italia tanti auguri a te cântat forțat pe fundal pentru a acoperi altă ceartă inutilă felie de tort inegală pentru ginere ca să nu se strice felia de ananas de pe tortul de ciocolată băga-mi-aș pula în el de tort de ciocolată m-aș întoarce înapoi și aș fugi cu mine mică cât mai departe de acel an jumătate de țipete isterice și femei instabile emoțional două palme de tort și o ceartă care și acum nu îmi dă pace nimeni nu își mai amintește de ea a fost un nimic să strici aniversarea unei fetițe să nu te poți abține pentru cinci nenorocite de minute cât ica încerca să cânte cinci minute nu ai contat nici măcar o zi din an ciclu primar și scoasă în fața clasei mirunica pe cine inviți din clasă la ziua ta uhm pe nimeni am invitat deja două prietene altă proastă care a mușcat din rujul roșu 10 ani și sandwichuri cu pâine albă cașcaval și șuncă rochiță neagră tot singură m-am jucat ignorată în propria casă oare chiar nu ți-ai pus vreo întrebare oare copilul tău era în regulă era de ajuns să iau note mari memorie bună ceartă-mă că gabriela a mâncat tot tortul ce prietene ți-ai mai făcut și tu nu a mai rămas nicio felie le-a mâncat ce vrei acum ți-am zis că nu mai vreau să te văd cu ea altă aniversare miruna este plecată îi lăsăm o punguță de chipsuri o doză de cola și o căciulă de blană sintetică ți-am luat cadou săraco cum se apropie decembrie simt cum încetinesc nu găsesc o piatră destul de mare sub care să mă ascund până când trece luna nici crăciunul sau anul nou nu sunt diferite nimic plăcut paralizant emoțional frig afară frig înauntru frig în brațele mamei m-ai crezut vreodată când ți-am spus că îmi este rău te enervai tot eu eram problema o povară constantă zi de zi de zi ceream de mâncare de băut de îmbrăcat de încălțat ceream doar luam nu ofeream nimic la schimb nu aveai bani iar erai nervoasă ce îmbrățișări ciudate reci stângace mama nu știe să mă ��ină în brațe brațele tale au fost calde când aveam 9 ani prea puțin ești fată da fată și ce mai faci am crescut știu că e și prima ta dată dar îmi este greu să accept iar trebuie să fiu în control să nu las pe nimeni să mă manipuleze tu ai fost începutul a tot tu mănânci ce mănânc și eu nu îmi place ceva nu îți place nici ție nici măcar înghețata de vanilie mama mama îmi place înghețata de vanilie are gust de amurg de vară și de regina nopții gust de soft kiss în apartament la brașov și de îți mulțumesc pentru bomboanele pe care le face și bunica speli rufe vara și îți povestesc cum vreau un zmeu și să alerg după el te rog să mergem până la graziella să îmi cumperi unul și apoi în parc la dunăre să îl înălțăm da mergem dar nu mergem niciodată nu mergem nicăieri dar dacă mai plângi că nu vrei la constanța și că vrei să stai cu mine te plesnesc de nu mai poți acum întoarce-te să dormi acum mă întrebi de ce nu ies prin oraș de ce nu am prieteni de ce nu am iubit logodnic nimic o fată așa deșteaptă ca tine nu găsești măi mamă chiar pe nimeni vomitam atât de des și în seara aia era să mor nu mai știai cum să spui tatăl nostru te-ai speriat iar eu plângeam în brațele tale și acum vomit dar de la prea multă vodcă băută cu denis și aida îți trimt 4 milioane de ziua ta să faci ce vrei cu ei să îți plătești chiria să îi ții să faci ce vrei tu vreau să nu îmi mai spui că mă iubești doar de ziua mea vreau să nu vorbim doar o oră pe săptămână vreau să știi la ce facultate sunt cine e martina cine e fiica ta nu sunt la istorie nici la arheologie vreau să știi că plâng de un an pentru că nu vii la absolvire alt semn că nu am avut pe nimeni vrei să fiu fericită simți că nu sunt simți cu ce stâng ai pornit mina
