Ever heard of the five-toed worm lizard (Bipes biporus)? This burrowing critter isn’t a snake: It’s a member of a group called amphisbaenians, which include mostly legless reptiles. Growing about 8.3 in (21.1 cm) long, this species is an ectotherm, which means its body temperature depends on its immediate environment. Using its tiny clawed digits to dig underground, it tends to hang out closer to the surface during the early hours of the day, then burrows deeper below the Earth as the Sun peaks. It can be found in Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula.

saw a cybertruck in the wild today and was struck by how eyeless and wedge-shaped it looks. this is the car version of an amphisbaena's head or a blind mole rat/blesmol/zokor/any of those furry mole-rat-esque rodents. maybe even a golden mole. this is a subterranean creature that would never be exposed to the light of day under natural conditions.

I've dipped into woodcuts, this one is a little guy based on the Aberdeen Bestiary amphisbaena. (Though I used my tattoo for reference but that one's also based on the bestiary...)
I printed a little over a sheet of them, think I'll cut them out and paste them on some things.
