why is ambrollins the single greatest love story ever told like how do i move on after i have had them????

it IS the greatest love story ever told. and that's not me being hyperbolic. i know everyone probably thinks that about their otp, but i've actively shipped or at least been familiar with all the most popular western m/m ships over the last decade, and nothing comes close. they have everything you could ever want. even in the current era where there are so many great wrestling ships that i genuinely like a lot, nothing hits the same or is ever going to hit the same. they just had that singular magic about them that will never be replicated.

and you don't have to move on from anything. i'm not gonna act like i didn't try. i tried for years. i was totally ready to find some other fandom and ship to become completely immersed in. hell, i got into 2 of the biggest ships on the internet in the last 3 years and yeah, they're fun and i had a good time, but they just don't compare. probably the greatest compliment i can give to a ship is that i don't find myself subconsciously comparing it to ambrollins or wishing that ambrollins would have their current screentime and popularity instead, and those are few and far between. it's been 8 years and i still feel the same about them as i did on day 1, which is very rare, and something that has literally never happened to me before.

it doesn't matter that they weren't treated with the care they should've been at certain times, it doesn't matter that they've been gone for 5 years and probably will never be seen onscreen again together, it doesn't matter that their story will probably never be properly appreciated by the iwc. they existed. they will always exist. and we will always carry them with us. they'll always be soulmates, just like seth said. no matter how much time passes or whatever else happens on those silly wrestling shows. they'll always be each other's most important relationship. they'll always be synonymous with each other and irrevocably intertwined. they'll always be the greatest wrestling story of all time and the greatest love story in history.

if you miss them or watching wrestling without them makes you sad, then just imagine the much better au where they have their happy ending and they're living their best lives together as it should be. that's what fandom and shipping is all about, after all.

there's a reason my blog title is it's never over. because seth was right. it's not over and it never will be.

Dean yawns as he wakes up slowly, morning sunlight warming his skin. He stretches out, hand bumping into something similarly warm and slowly moving. He opens an eye.

"Why're you still in bed?" Dean mumbles, pulling Seth into his chest. "Don't you have a hot bod to keep in shape?"

Seth laughs into Dean's neck. "Slept in."

Dean wraps his arms around Seth's shoulders. "The great Seth Rollins," he murmurs, tilting down so he can kiss the top of Seth's grey hair, "preferring sleep to weights. How the tables have turned."

"Shut up," Seth laughs, burying his face into Dean's shoulder. "You're one to talk."

"Me?!"

Seth sits up, grinning at Dean. "When was the last time you did anything except water aerobics at the gym?"

"I am old and injured from a storied wrestling career, and water is easier on my joints."

Seth quirks an eyebrow. "And, you know, you have the hots for the instructor."

"Do not!" Dean says, feeling his face turn red.

"It's okay, baby, lust after the youngins," Seth says. He kisses Dean's jaw. "You come home to me every night regardless."

"I'm not lusting after anyone!"

Seth pulls back, brown eyes pathetic and huge. "No one?"

"Turn off the eyes, you whiner." Dean leans down and kisses Seth's forehead. "It's not lust when it's you."

Seth's eyes get even bigger and sweeter. "I was trying to be stupid and now you've said the most romantic thing in the world. How's a guy supposed to respond to that?"

Dean grins. "I got an idea."

I actually read a canon verse where they are actual wrestling soulmates and it's full of angst because it takes part on Seth betrayal and Dean can feel him through the bond when Seth gets injured. Gotta find it again 😍😍

One of the pictures I worked on while I was in Sweden visiting @nooneym and a request finally fulfilled for @bladeambrose10 who wanted a scene with a werewolf!Dean and Seth in a forest (I’m sincerely sorry for taking so long on it). Sweden and it’s people are quite inspiring for my creative muse it seems since I’ve barely drawn anything in about a year much less create something as finished as this. Only my second serious attempt at a night scene and in watercolors no less. I’m quite surprised and happy with the outcome.
