Sabudana Vada, Snacks and Fast Items – Here’s what you can try
Fasting doesn’t have to be boring. Generally Hindus prepare special food with selected ingredients to be consumed during fast. You can find varieties of tasty easy snack recipes prepared during fast, out of which following are some special ones that are filling and can provide energy for the entire day. You can very well try these recipes and enjoy eating them with your loved ones.
Sabudana Khichdi 
Another commonly prepared dish in Maharashtra and many other states in India during fasting is the delicious Sabudana Khichdi prepared by mixing together  soaked sabudana, coarsely powdered roasted peanuts, sugar and salt.
Now heat some oil, crackle cumin seeds, curry leaves and add chopped boiled potatoes and sabudana mixture, stir it continuously on low flame and then ganish coriander leaves and drizzle little lemon juice over it and serve hot. Quick, easy and tasty!!
Sabudana Vada 
Sabudana vada a traditional tasty snack of Maharashtra that can be had during fast is also called as ‘sago vada’. It tastes good with sweet curd.
It is easily prepared by soaking sabudana for at least five hours and draining the water completely and adding boiled mashed potatoes, roasted and coarsely grounded peanuts, cumin seeds, ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves, lemon juice, sugar and salt to it.
Mix the whole mixture and make flat round sabudana vadas and deep fry them in hot oil on medium flame till they turn golden brown in colour. 
Sabudana Thalipeeth
Sabudana Thalipeeth is the mouth-watering tasty fasting dish of Maharashtra which is prepared by mixing together soaked sabudana, boiled mashed potatoes, cumin powder, coarsely powdered roasted peanuts, ginger, coriander leaves, sugar, lime juice and salt.
Prepare Thalipeeth by flattening a portion of the mixture with your palm and placing it on the hot pan and frying it until both sides become golden brown. It tastes well with chutney and raita.
Rajgira Paratha 
Rajgira or amaranth flour is one of the ingredients that is used for Hindus religious fasting. Rajgira Paratha a gluten free, healthy snack is prepared by no onion and no garlic but only rajgira flour, boiled and smashed potatoes, jeera powder, green chilli and ginger paste, coriander leaves and salt.
Knead this mixture into smooth dough and roll out medium parathas, fry them on hot tava till golden brown on either side and remove after applying ghee on both sides.
This nutritious paratha is yummy when served hot with curd.
Farali Shingada or Chestnut flour Sheera 
This delicious and healthy fasting recipe is very simple and can be quickly prepared with minimum ingredients.
Begin by heating ghee in a pan, add Shingada flour and saute it on low flame till it is roasted and brown. Add boiled water, keep on stirring, once thick add sugar, mix well and add cardamom powder and dry fruits.
Now enjoy this tasty hot or warm tasty sheera with your entire family.
