My favorite TV shows of 1997
1. South Park (1997-present) One of the best Comedy Central original shows and one of the longest running adult animated shows ever. The show takes places in the fictional town of South Park, Colorado where 4 young foul-mouthed boys got involved in the series of hilariously mature adventures. This cartoon is for adults only. Starring: Trey Parker, Matt Stone, April Stewart, Mona Marshall and Mary Kay Bergen. Distributed by Comedy Partners and Paramount Global
2. King of the Hill (1997-2010/2024-present) Fox Television Network folks is needed another adult animated show besides The Simpsons and Mike Judge arrives and creates one of the best-loved Fox shows ever King of the Hill. The show takes places in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas, chronicling the lives of Propane salesman Hank Hill, his family, and his 3 comical best friends. Starring Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Aldon, Johnny Hardwick and Stephen Root. Distributed by 20th Television Animation and Disney
3. Cow and Chicken (1997-1999) With an success of Cartoon Network's second original show Dexter's Laboratory and 3rd series Johnny Bravo, the all-cartoon TV network has come up with an plan... an new summer TV show that involves 2 funny young kid animals, an devilishly funny villain, an dashing brave weasel and an buffoon baboon. Thus, Cow and Chicken was born on July 15, 1997. This grossly laugh out loud animated comedy about an scrawny 11 year old Chicken, his beefy 7 year old sister Cow and their unconventional weirdest human parents. Cow and Chicken navigating their lives throughout suburbia, encountered hilarious problems not just at school but an evil funny guy with devilishly schemes named Red Guy whose singular intent to make the siblings' lives miserable. Along with Cow and Chicken, the 2nd segment that spun-off an very short-lived show called I Am Weasel. The spin-off that focus on a smart, dashing, intelligent, noble and successful weasel named I.M Weasel and an unintelligent, rude, dumb and stinky baboon named I.R Baboon who is unaware of Weasel's good deeds and acts as his rival and friend, and the mischievous funny devil Red Guy, he often antagonize the two. Starring Charlie Andler, Candi Milo, Dee Bradley Baker and Michael Dorn. Distributed by Cartoon Network Studios, Hanna-Barbera Productions and Warner Bros Television Distribution
3. Stargate SG-1 (1997-2010) An television sequel to an 1994 blockbuster hit movie that started it all. Showtime ordered 6 seasons before Sci-Fi Channel (Syfy) took over from the remainder of the series after successful reruns. An young team of explorers made up of soldiers and scientists travels through a Stargate, an ancient portal to other planets. They use the Stargate to explore new worlds, forge ties with friendly civilizations and protect earth from evil and hostile forces. Starring Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge and Ben Browder. Distributed by Metro Goldwyn Mayer Domestic Television, Showtime Networks and Syfy Originals.
4. Disney's Recess (1997-2001) Recess is might be ABC's first original hit show/original Saturday Morning Cartoon show since acquired by Walt Disney Company in 1996. 6 brave 4th graders at the fictional school of Third Street School make it their mission to protect the kids on the playground despite King Bob and his minions who enforce his harshly unwritten law, TJ, Gretchen, Spinelli, Vince, Gus and Mikey seeks a rational balance between conformity an individually. The hit cartoon that spun 4 movies, the underrated 2001 movie Recess: School's Out, an Christmas compilation sequel Recess Christmas: Miracle on Third Street, 2 direct-to-video movies that debuts in 2003, an prequel Recess: All Growed Down and the series finale movie Recess: Taking a 5th Grade. Starring Andrew Lawrence, Ricky D'Shon Collins, Ashley Johnson, Pamela Aldon and Jason Davis. Distributed by Walt Disney Television Animation
5. Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction (1997-2002) Sci-fi/fantasy/mystery fans are need a relief after Unsolved Mysteries suffered from disastrous failure after the show was moving from NBC to CBS, 4 more months before the first ever Murder, She Wrote TV movie and the 1996-1997 season of The X-Files ended with gigantic cliffhanger, so Fox and Dick Clark Production conjure up an summertime experiment to turn the tide until September and that's when Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction? Debuts on May 25th, 1997. Each episodes that has 5 tales, all of them which appear defy logic or some of them are loosely based on actual events. The viewer is up to challenge of determined 5 stories that are true or false, at the end of each episodes, it is revealed to the viewer whether 5 tales were true or fiction. The show was massive popular in Germany, RTL II revives the show with Star Trek actor Jonathan Franks reprise his hosting duties in October 2021. Starring James Brolin and Jonathan Frakes. Distributed by Fox and Dick Clark Productions

( courtney eaton / demi girl ) LUNDY VICENTE is 22 years old and is a JUNIOR at thales university. SHE is majoring in WOMEN’S STUDIES and is known for being THE JAILBIRD as HER can be RESILIENT and SCHEMING as well as HOTHEADED and AGGRESSIVE. every time i see HER, SHE reminds me of THE DEEP END OF A SWIMMING POOL, TITLEFIGHT LYRICS, SLEEPING ON A FULL SIZED MATTRESS. ( amanda / 23 / she/her / mst )
hey guys its amanda the raven mun. like this to validate me thanks *winks*
NAME:  lundy b vicente AGE:  22 BIRTH DATE:  november 19th 1998 ZODIAC:  sagittarius sun, leo moon SEXUAL ORIENTATION:  bisexual  /  biromantic FINANCIAL CLASS:  lower HOMETOWN:  kissimmee, florida EDUCATION LEVEL:  junior studying women’s studies FACE CLAIM:  courtney eaton ADDICTION(S):  nicotine DRUG USE:  frequent ALCOHOL USE:  frequent POSITIVE TRAITS:  self-reliant, confident, risk-taking NEGATIVE TRAITS:  vulgar, violent, selfish
BACKGROUND  -  triggers: prostitution, child neglect, incarceration
as she would put it, lundy was born to a crackwhore mom and never knew her dad. the earliest years of her life were certainly happy, allbeit delusionally so. by the age of five the girl had the local streets memorized, running rampant with her friends through parking lots and swimming in motel pools. while her mother used alternative means to earn money and occupied their single bedroom with the company many suitors, young lundy became independent, and aware of the harsh realities of the real world on her own.
before long, cps caught word of the less than ideal living conditions that the child was living in, and got involved. ultimately she ended up in the foster system after a brutal custody battle between her mother and the state.
though she lived in a variety of homes around the state of florida, some good, some not so good, lundy ended up stuck in a home for troubled girls. the system threatened to chew her up and spit her back out, but self-reliance had made her testy around authority figures.
her thirteenth birthday was spent during the first of many bouts in juveinial detention, but she took to the facility well. like a school she reined over, lundy actually found herself getting into trouble just so she could return. the highlights of her teen years mostly consisted of fighting, fucking, and making the other kids in juvy all around just as miserable as she was.
once she turned eighteen, lundy was contacted by her father’s family. he lived in virginia, and offered her a place to stay as she tried to “get back on her feet”, seeing how he himself had done some time and knew the feeling. it didn’t take long for lundy to decide that family life wasn’t for her, so she began applying to colleges in hopes to live on campus.
PERSONALITY  -  triggers: violence
it should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with lundy that she was kicked out of her most recent housing situation over the summer. the police were called after a neighbor reported a domestic disturbance, only to find that lundy had beaten one of her roommates bloody and blacked out. though she claims she had a reason  ---  he was creepy!  the feds didn’t give much of a shit about that, and there is a pending court case. she is also living with her dad again, working to repay him for her bail fund, and waiting to be contacted further. she most certainly should NOT be indulding in partying, or any reckless sort of behavior, but that goes against her very identity.
when you actually have lundy on your side, she’s a force to be reckoned with. ride or die, type of person, but she struggles to find people who actually wish to become close enough to her for that. at this point, it doesn’t bother her that others find her offputing. her sense of humor is an acquired taste, and she’ll certainly say what’s on her mind, but perhaps that may seem refreshing? to some people? maybe?
lundy is rather loud, just when she speaks, and LOVES digging into other people’s business. she is incredibly impulsive and will always support bad decisions. she’s deliberate, though never planned, and tactless. the type to hurt your feelings on accident AND on purpose, depending on the day. in general, she is silly. a maniac really
RANDOM SHIT
she plays bass. picked it up whens he moved to virginia. she’s just a rock chick!
proud marxist but i don’t recommend bring it up to her. she’s been kicked out of many classes due to this
as far as gender goes, lundy has always felt “female enough” but certainly has a more adrogynous energy about her. wears a lot of baggy clothes and backwards hats. has been called a lesbian since before she can remember, but kind of took on that persona and made her something she’s proud of
sleeps most comfortably in small spaces. prefers her full sized mattress to anything bigger
constantly makes the jacking off motion when other people are talking
has this love you tattoo on her hairline a la her at the time girlfriend and this tattoo on her hand
loves a good video game session (aka not talking to anyone for 72 hours unless it’s through playstation)
loves a good handwritten letter, will even get romantic about it sometimes
likes fucking menthol cigarettes
always leaving the house with her hair wet like girl why???????? also loves to swim
had a gay boyfriend once. the only boyfriend she ever had. it lasted like a week asdfsdf
based on:  young aleida ( oitnb ), moonee ( the florida project ), spinelli ( recess ), jayden ( short term 12 ), donna ( that 70s show )
WANTED CONNECTIONS
a band?????? this is so so so up for whatever ideas anyone else has but she’s definitely always wanted to be in a band and has the charisma for it. need anyone else who plays an instrument other than bass or sings
half siblings???????? they would have to be at least half white, because her dad is white.
exes ?? (f/nb) of literally any sort. she was probably a very fleetingly romantic gf. she’d be like here is a love note i made u but also we’re breaking up tomorrow.
someone she’s beat up?????????
honestly i can’t think of anything all that specific anymore my brain always runs out of juice at the fucking end of writing intros like this. i really just want literally any connection dude hit that mf LIKE button

Coronavirus lockdowns could Catalyze Rise in HIV infections - Experts warn
Tumblr media
"It's very likely that people's risk behaviors will resume before they will have full access to prevention services," he said.
If lockdowns and stay-at-home orders are succeeding in slowing the spread of the coronavirus, health experts warn that the measures could unintentionally undermine efforts to contain another potentially deadly disease: HIV.
At the start of April, Travis Sanchez, an epidemiologist at Emory University, carried out an online survey of around 1,000 men who have sex with men, and half of them reported a drop in the number of sexual partners, as well as reduced use of hook-up apps.
In theory, this should reduce transmission.
But he quickly added a disturbing warning: a quarter of the men said they had experienced problems getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases, because thousands of centers that used to provide them have closed down.
That means that those people still having sex have no idea about their status, which Sanchez warned is a potential ticking bomb.
"It's very likely that people's risk behaviors will resume before they will have full access to prevention services," he said.
"And I think that combination could lead to increases in HIV transmission."
The full impact of the pandemic on HIV transmission will not be known before next year, when the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) publishes its statistics on 2020 infections.
But numerous experts and healthcare professionals fear a step backward, a year after the United States announced the goal of cutting the number of new infections by 75 percent by the year 2025.
In Washington, a city that has been hit hard by HIV, the Whitman-Walker clinic has had to stop its daily walk-in tests for the virus and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) like syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia.
Around 50 people used to come in every day to get tested, including many gay people, and for many it had become a routine check-up carried out every three months.
"All those folks are going without testing," said nurse practitioner Amanda Cary, who now only sees symptomatic patients by appointment. "I do think there's going to be a rise in STIs," she said.
The CDC told AFP it was expecting a drop in the number of STIs being diagnosed in the short term, "but an increase in the long-term once restrictions lift and more people are screened and tested again."
It said that for HIV, "the decrease in the availability of testing and limited access to treatment and prevention services may result in more infections and poor health outcomes in the long run."
Everything can change
In San Francisco, Doctor Matthew Spinelli worries about the homeless, or those who lack the connectivity to take part in the televisits that have replaced in-person visits to health centers.
"People are just scared of a hospital right now, so I'm pretty worried," said Spinelli, who practices at the city's largest hospital.
His clinic is also following some 3,000 people living with HIV.
He fears that in the chaos of the pandemic, some of them are not going to pharmacies or taking their daily medication, which could allow their viral load to shoot up and make the patients to become contagious again.
"I'm worried that their mental health or substance use may be worsening in this environment and hence their pill-taking adherence is worse," he told AFP.
In the United States, the use of the preventive daily pill PrEP, which allows those who take it to be almost 100 percent risk-free from contracting HIV during unprotected sex, has increased, but Spinelli reports that some have stopped taking it during the lockdown.
This leads to the question: will they start again afterward?
"On the balance it is probably going to worsen the HIV epidemic, that would be my prediction, both in this country, and worldwide," Spinelli said.
But by forcing healthcare professionals to improvise, the pandemic will also bring about other lasting, positive changes in prevention strategies.
Telemedicine will become commonplace, for one thing. Needle exchange programs are already handing out more syringes at one time, and even shipping them out by mail.
The use of home HIV test kits, which have been around for years but have been under-utilized, will spread, said Stephen Lee, director of Nastad, an association of public health officials who specialize in HIV.
The CDC is pushing home-testing, and both Florida and Tennessee are considering implementing it, he told AFP.
"The pandemic has shown us that we can and should do it," he said.

MY OCTOBER IN BOOKS
1. TO MAKE MONSTERS OUT OF GIRLS by Amanda Lovelace
Finished this in 20 minutes and I was like “what? That’s it?”. ☹️☹️☹️ After reading Amanda Lovelace’s Women Are Some Kind of Magic series a couple of months back I was pretty excited for this one to be released because I really loved the previous books buuuuut I’m sorry this book sucks in comparison. Huhu. Anyway, if you want to read good poetry I recommend Sabrina Benaim, Melissa Lozada-Oliva and Olivia Gatwood. I would also say Rupi Kaur but everyone already knows Rupi Kaur is good.
2. KILL THE FARM BOY (The tales of Pell #1) by Delilah Dawson & Kevin Hearne
I started reading Kill the Farm Boy because the descriptions everywhere promised me this book is exactly if Discworld and The Princess Bride had a baby, but I have to disagree. It has a promising start, I’ll tell you that. There are a lot of funny parts like how the characters were introduced into the story and the dialogue is hilarious and I LOL-ed a lot, but eventually you’ll get tired of the poop jokes and start questioning where the hell is this story going? Where is the real content? I mean, 80% into the book and you’re still confused about the story not really having a direction and it’s just a one big cycle of fart jokes and trying too hard to be satire and it’s an agony to go on. I wanted to stop reading but I have to admit I was rather fond of Lord Toby’s character because he’s a self-proclaimed Dark Lord but he owns chickens and the only spell he knows how to do is to summon bread. But then they killed him off suddenly in like a lame way (I know they were trying to be funny but seriously at that point I wasn’t into the jokes anymore) and he came back as a ghost a few chapters later and I was just so mad I wanted to throw my Kindle across the room. Don’t get me wrong, the concept of this book is so good and the characters are hilarious. But they didn’t achieve it. This book is super disorganized. So much potential wasted on shit. But this is my opinion only, of course. No offense to those who loved this book .
3. LAST SEXT by Melissa Broder
I love Melissa Broder. I love her books The Pisces and So Sad Today as well as her horoscope column in Lenny Letters that I excitedly read at the beginning of each month and I listen to her podcast Eating Alone In My Car while grocery shopping or when I’m pretending to do yoga. I love her twitter page, too. I think she’s hilarious. I think she’s my 2018 hero. But this poetry book? Umm. Not so much. It’s the most painful to read. Dark, twisted, violent and at the end of each poem I don’t know if I am worried or sad or confused? This collection would probably appeal to some readers but not to me. Even if I’m, let’s say, pms-ing or just feeling moody or sad, in general, I still wouldn’t like it? My only favorite part about this book is when she wrote "And I wear my crown of fuck its". I think that’s a brilliant line. I wish I wrote it myself.
4. MANIAC MAGEE by Jerry Spinelli
Jerry Spinelli, if you’re reading this, I just want to read a Maniac Magee x Stargirl crossover. Or I could go look for fanfictions right now. Or write one. Whatever.
5. NO ONE BELONGS HERE MORE THAN YOU by Miranda July
The truth is, I’ve never finished a Miranda July book before because I thought her writing isn’t for me. I picked up The First Bad Man a year ago and abandoned it after several pages and never looked back. But a couple of weeks ago I found this book of essays written by her and my godssss, they were wonderful! It must be the sadness in her sentences (I’m a sucker for those) or I was in a coffee shop mood that time and I saw her book in my ibooks. I read Making Love in 2003 thrice because that’s how much I loved it. I bought one large cup of coffee in that quiet coffee shop in a street I rarely walk by (but I did that afternoon), sat down and started reading and before I knew it I’m done and I needed more. I think it’s time I apologize and pick up The First Bad Man again.

Judges' Remarks: A bizarre, unleashed version of the book! Here Maniac and Amanda are re-imagined as pranksters going around town and causing havoc. I liked the device of showing the feet running around as a way to separate the scenes (evocative of the cover of the book). The slow motion of the guy who’s grabbing his ears and shouting, that suddenly snaps back into normal speed, was well done and effective. There was a lot of inventive and resourceful cinematography in this one, and I liked all the action and surprise throughout. And I liked the reference to “The Greatest Showman” at the beginning! Pro tip: it might make the story easier to understand if the voices of the various characters were easier to hear.
