#Am I too old for this?

I'm still pretty new to tumblr, and I'm trying to get my posts out there, but I know these things take time. I'm also really over any other form of social media, and I made this account a year or so ago, but I never did anything with it. So far, this has made me visit Facebook a lot less, and for that, I'm grateful. I really think this is a much better place to be overall. I hope I can go about finding more people to interact with, and hopefully, maybe attaching 1000 tags to this post will do the trick.

Anyhow, I'm 35, I work part-time because I made the decision to go back to school and finish my degree. I'm engaged, I have the 2 most stupid, perfect, and beautiful cats. I love music, I love books, I love way too many TV shows to even try to name, and I love going to shows, on adventures, museums, thrift shops, and pretty much anything as long as we head towards the mountains because thats where I want to be most of them time.

Anyhow, if anyone feels friendly and wants to help a newbie out by giving them someone to interact with that would be great!

when i was like seven or eight my dad took me to a roller derby event (odd attempt at bonding) and this event altered my brain chemistry. i thought it was so fucking cool and awesome and it just blew my lil brain that this was something done.

during one of the intermission thingies i went to the bathroom, and some of the women on the team were also in there. i went up to these very intimidating women who i just watched shove around other intimidating women, and i told them that i thought they were cool. they were so sweet and they asked my name and how i was. i remember saying something about being too much a crybaby to ever do roller derby and one of them immediately chimes in saying i could do anything i wanted.

i never got into roller derby unfortunately, but i love the sport and the community around it so much. and that bathroom conversation did more for my self esteem than any talk with my therapist

How do people get and keep more than one friend? Like seriously.

I’ve basically lost every other close friend I’ve ever had growing up. The ones I had in school just kinda bailed after graduation if they didn’t already when I came out. The couple I made at my first job just died out and my best friend at the time took her own life. And another friend kinda stopped too and I have my theories about it and I’m trying to have at least a shred of hope about the future but it is what it is I guess. Then a good friend I made at my current job just kinda suddenly stopped talking to me for some reason.

I have one friend that isn’t my wife. And he lives in another state.

I don’t get it. Finding friends as an adult is so hard. Sometimes I just want to give up on it and be content with the two people I do have. And maybe I should?

I’ll just write my silly little stories, read stories, and shitpost to the void.

When do I get to the part of therapy that actually helps me with this stuff?

Fics based off song lyrics

So I've had a few ideas running through my head, some of them 100% based off of song lyrics. My question: do you add the lyrics into the fic? Do we do this 2000 style still? Do I only add snippets of the lyrics? I have an idea fleshed out on paper but my writing is turning out different (which is fine I 100% expected that) I'm just curious if there's an order?
