snow was beyond curious about the other who she followed - especially with their similar circumstances. though she's said it before, she never truly realized until now how one is truly not alone in this world. she smiled a little to herself at the thought. her eyes darted towards his hand before she hesitantly took it. although he had given her his hand to reach for, she didn't want to push any boundaries. ❝ i'm not sure why i thought you said sundance, ❞ snow admitted, a small laugh following short after. ❝ though snowdance has a nice ring to it. though, i may be biased. ❞ she joked lightly. her eyebrow quirked when he mentioned that when he dances, it snows. ❝ it snows? like from the sky? ❞ she questioned. she had never heard anything like it. her curious mind had made her wonder. though she knew that their land wasn't not filled with magic.

❝ does snowdance like apples, perchance? ❞ snow questioned, remembering the few crisp apples she had her in satchel. she had a few left - one for each of them, if he so wished to take one. ❝ i have three, if you would like one as well. i bought them from a farmer's market yesterday, so they should still be fresh. but, if i am really to secure on snowdance's good side, i surely want to only give my best. ❞ snow spoke with a joyful tone, a goofy smile settled on her lips as they continued down their path. ❝ seven years... that's a long time. i'm sure the two of you have shared some of your best moments with each other. astor... well, funnily enough, he's a white horse, too. i've had him for several years now. i feel as if we had grown up together. if that truly makes any sense. ❞ she paused after a soft laugh. he was her only friend while living as a housemaid for the queen. after she was done with her chores, one would always find snow brushing or looking after the white horse.

as they travelled, her eyes stayed peeled for the white horse - hoping that they could find the creature. off in the distance, she could see what faintly looked like a horse, taking a drink of water from the river. ❝ i don't want to get your hopes up, but is that snowdance? ❞

what are your favourite films / tv series / books?

also, what do you think of the film 'saltburn' if you have watched it?

Films: Philadelphia Story (Catherine and Cary at their best), Emma 2020 (quite possibly made for me in a lab), The Grand Budapest Hotel (gorgeous), Paddington 2 (honestly perfect), Moonstruck (Cher, Nicholas Cage, opera), To Catch a Thief (never has a person been better dressed in a film than Grace here, except maybe Audrey in Charade), The Sound of Music (not sorry), Star Trek 2009 (formative).

TV Series: Honestly mostly sci-fi, not really into 'prestige TV.' Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek (all, but especially next gen), For All Mankind. Then old USA shows, esp Monk and Psych. Oh and West Wing of course. And Friday Night Lights!

Books: Impossible, there are so so many. You can see what I've read the last few years on my Instagram highlights (same username as this). A few that stick out off the top of my head: Cahokia Jazz (Spufford), Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell (Clarke), Trust (Hernan Diaz), Invisible Cities (Calvino), Emma (Austen), Wind Sand and Stars (Saint-Exupery), Foundation (Asimov).

Saltburn: Enjoyed, especially visually. Thought the ending would have been stronger if left less clear. Any particular reason?

I loved all of your July prompts, but my favourite has to be Aliens (I'm a sucker for alien aus). It was so cool, the dynamic and pov between the two, and Tango's little freak out was adorable. Not sure how I feel about that last line, and the potential angst that could cause if Jimmy ends up hating his captor (who am I kidding, I love some good angst!!) But as worrying as that thought is, I can't help but have a thought that ruins any potential angst scenarios.

Let's face it. Jimmy definitely learns the alien equivalent of "dumbass", very quickly. Simply because he has no self preservation skills, and must explore! And poor Tango. Like, on the one hand, Tango is so worried about the safety of his new friend on the ship, but also, this is the third time he's pulled Jimmy out of some machine, absolutely covered in slime or something. Just, "why are you like this?" while unable to decide if he should laugh or worry further.

And now I can't stop laughing, because this feels like it is just how life would be for them from now on. Jimmy causing shenanigans, and Tango simultaneously loosing years of life to stress but laughing the whole way XD

I hope you continue with this au. It is so cute and has so much potential, either with angst, or just the absurd shenanigans of an idiot on an oversized alien ship. Either way, I love this au and want more of your awesome work!!!

Aww, thank you! I must admit, the alien au has a special place in my heart. I've literally been thinking about this au for months.

Also, yes to everything you said! It does take some time, Jimmy is still really nervous around Tango for a while. But eventually, when he gets more comfortable, Jimmy definitely ends up in situations that just has Tango stressing out. But he can't be mad at his little buddy.

I do plan on continuing this! I actually have a full story pretty much planned out? The overall plot is anyway. It's a mixture of angst, ship shenanigans, a bit of a pull on the heartstrings, and conflict. My fic was basically just a warm-up, cause once I start the actual story, it's starting from the beginning.

I want to finish Shattered Reflections first though, but rest assured I will be working out more of the Alien au's story and plot while doing so!

I’m currently writing a tasu oneshot about their wedding, and my goal is to have it done before TNC comes out. Now that might not sound difficult but for me that is a challenge lol I’m a slow writer and this is going to be pretty long.

So wish me luck!
