Great news everyone, earth confirmed habitable!
#lmao the actual news story here is 'instrument test during flyby goes well'#But I always enjoy people having cheeky fun with it#Also feel mildly like a proud parent in that I worked on Submilimeter Wave tech in college for a bit#So I was like 'to detect water?' as soon as I knew the intstrument involved was the Submilimeter Wave Instrument#And it sure was to detect water because that frequency and wavelength are good for the purpose#They're still looking at the data in closer detail#But at this point ESA scientists have strong reasons to believe that the planet earth is capable of supporting complex life#Possibly even intelligent life but at this point it's far too early to say that with any confidence#You 17776 freaks (affectionate) might be interested in this
