Marauders AU in which Voldemort is more intelligent and he creates a massive spell to erase people's memories to his convenience.
Sometime in 1979, Voldemort released a spell that was like a bomb, that created an explosion and chaos. Families were separated. Friends were separated. Lovers were separated.
He invents a "perfect world" only for Purebloods and manipulates their minds to make them think muggleborns and halfbloods are savages that want to kill everyone, because the lack of magic had corrupted their minds and they are practically wild animals.
So he builds a wall around Hogwarts and other parts of the Wizarding Community where purebloods and very selected wizards live inside a bubble. Like a dome. Outside the dome, everyone else stays behind left to survive in the forest and the ruins of the wild.
So obviously a very small selected group of death eaters (like Bellatrix, and Snape) know the truth, and work to maintain the order inside the dome, the rest are brainwashed.
Inside the dome, there are characters like Sirius Black (pureblood), Marlene McKinnon (pureblood), Peter (pureblood and very manipulative to use as a lapdog). Plus Lily Evans (who is not a pureblood but was spared because of Snape. He begged his master to let Lily be included in this new world) All of them with their memories wiped out, and new lives and personalities created for them. They are told that savages out there are dangerous. They live a comfortable life of rich people. Bellatrix is the public figure of this system, like the president. With Voldemort being the mastermind from behind.
Outside the dome, are the ones who know the truth. The rebels and survivors. James Potter, is the leader of the resistance. He was captured to be inside the dome but managed to escape before they brainwashed him. Remus, obviously considered not worth it for being a werewolf, but wanted to be killed. Mary, a muggleborn. And I am thinking other characters like Emmeline Vance and other characters from the original Order. They don't know what is inside the dome, they think at first that death eaters were torturing their friends.
Regulus is obviously selected to be inside the dome but at some point he wakes up and acts like a double agent and a spy from inside to help the rebels and protect his brother. Regulus along with Dorcas and Barty are brainwashed to be guards which their job is protect the dome from savages and hunt them down. They are the only ones allowed outside the dome to hunt more savages. The government told them to look specifically for the ones from the resistance like James or Remus. Regulus keeps sparing their lives a lot because he knows the true of who they are.
James and Lily were a couple before the explosion. And were separated. Lily doesn't remember James or thinks he is a murderer. Snape invented the story that he was the one who killed her parents and he is dangerous. But inside of her, she feels something for him still and she cannot explain why she is curious about what's outside the dome. James, on the other hand, is crazy in love with Lily and wants to get inside the dome to rescue her. He knows the truth.
Also, after the explosion, nobody knows who is alive or not. Who is outside the dome or not. After months of looking for his friends, Remus finds James with his little group of rebels but he is told that Sirius is dead. Wolfstar wasn't a thing before the explosion like Jily. But Remus loved Sirius in secret and never dared to tell him about his feelings. He griefs Sirius and wants revenge for his supposed dead. James doesn't lose hope that Sirius is alive somewhere inside the dome. He has hope that he can get his friends back.
So the story is the confrontation from the ones inside the dome lead by Voldemort, and how some of them start waking up. They don't understand why they feel things for those savages and why they provoke things on them without knowing they are actually their friends or lovers. Especially Lily and Sirius who feel things for James and Remus respectively and are confused because they shouldn't, they are dirty savages, aren't they?
And the other side of rebels resisting, surviving while they can with plans to get inside, discover what is inside and rescue their friends, make them wake up and realize who they really are. Of course led by Albus Dumbledore himself.

So my original plan for tonight was to rewatch Knives Out, but since the movie theather near my house hates me its only showing two movies, a sequel to a comedy ive never seen and the stars wars. And since my friend refused to watch the comedy i actually watched ros and wow is it something.
Seriously ive seen so many posts complaining about this movie, from so many people, i thought i knew what to expect but i was not ready.
I was expecting to be annoyed and bored, wich i was at times, but i was not expecting it to be this funny
So since iâm trying to post more in my little space in the sinking ship that is tumblr i wanted to share the things that made me actually laugh out loud in rise of skywalker:
- not only they bring palpatine back in the opening crawl but the way it happens is just... amazing. Palpatine apparently just sends everyone a voice mail being like âi lived bitchâ and promising revenge... like thats it, no more explanation needed.
- Snoke clones, they actually had snoke clones. we were so close to having the snoke clone army in the throne-like seat... we couldâve had it all.
- c3po going along in the adventure, i mean after the snoke clones cameo i was ready for the true otp c3prey to finally became canon.
- the little alien girl that just needs to know reyâs last name.was she filling a form or something?
- that part where the movie expects me to care in any way about c3p0 losing his memory, seriously i donât care... please stop with the dramatic speech i donât.... no really it could actually kill him and i stil.... oh my god why is the music acting like this is something.
- Did the makers of c3p0 made it so he would use his evil eyes and voice when translating sith, or did the little rat man decide it would look cool?
- the scene 3 hours later(why is this movie so long) where r2d2 brings the golden-waste-of-timeâs memory back making everything in that previous scene even more pointless (why was c3p0 in this but rose had to stary behind again?)
- Poe is straight. Did you guys know that Poe is straight? Here is a female human he had sexual intercourse with. Because he likes woman. BECAUSE HE IS STRAIGHT!!!!!.... Anyway here is Poe hugging Finn like his life depends on it.
-Â âThey sold you to keep you safe.â
-âTHEY SOLD YOU TO KEEP YOU SAFE!!â(I donât know if that is the actual line, i watched it dubbed but seriously WTF)
-Â âShe is not on Jakku so donât even bother looking there. No really bro, i know we were there with her, and then we left without her... but sheâs not there. Would i lie to you? Jakku is the last place i would hide my daughter on, so donât ever look for her there.â(Iâm 100% certain this is the actual line)
- PALPATINE FUCKS. HE HAS FUCKED BEFORE AND SHALL FUCK AGAIN.(who was the mother by the way?, who was the unsung hero that climbed this everest)Â
- Palpatine doesnât know about the jedi love connection. His puppet knew, his puppet who he controled even claimed to have created the connection, but Palpatine didnt know. Is this because he is an old, old man? Is his mind just not what it used to be? did he just kinda forgot about the iron fleet?
- Rey blowing up Chewie...sorry
- Hux being the spy. the pettiness...mood.
- Hux just dying like a background character, so we can focus on the real secondary villain... general old guy.(Is he from the old movies?was jj expectin me to recognize that guy?i canât even remember his name and iâm pretty sure they say it a lot, but my brain just stopped listening after general)Â
-The random former stormtroopers that just... show up and then we all pretend to have a connection with this lady for the last five hours of movie.(Why is it so long?)
But really the idea of other stormtroopers being inspired by Finn to break out of the first order would have been a cool story to actually explore, instead of just âwe all just magically good cause force, rip to all brainwashed stormtroopers but we are different.âÂ
- Leia just dies because.... she knew they had run out of deleted scenes with her i guess.
- Alien Lupita explaining Leia has to die cause... she needs all her power to... do stuff. important stuff.
- JJâs friends that get more screentime than Rose.(not really funny but...)
- Glados Palpatine. Eveytime he appeared on screen i would start laughing, to the point my friend got mad at me. Am i the only one who can see this? Why is he Glados? Whatever the reason this made me laugh the most, i literally got out of the theather singing still alive.
- Kinda heartwarming that palpatineâs plan was to build a evil empire for his grandaughter. He really loved her T.T
- it took a while for me to realize, because it was so dark. but rey and palpatine were surrounded by evil bleaches filled with evil minions rooting for palpatine, and i thought that was really wholesome, to show they were all there cheering him on.
- every sith is inside palpatine... hehe
-Â âIf you give in to your anger and kill me youâre evil. if i force you to kill me you are also evil.â
- Palpatine can possess people who kill him i guess?
- every jedi is inside Rey... hehe
- Also since he voldemorted himself to death, did palpatine possess himself?
- Leiaâs body just disappears because.... reasons. I guess alien Lupita knows why but sheâs not even gonna bother explaining this one, cause itâs so obvious.
- The gay scene... iâm gonna be honest, i teared up when the slug and jjâs friend hugged, this is the representation we need.(but really i almost missed the kiss, and iâm certain i never saw those women before, and im also sure they got thanosed the moment the camera left them)
-POE IS A STRAIGHT MAN WHO LOVES KISSING WOM... oh my god is that finn?
- The last scene, I actually liked that she ended up in Tatooine. Bringin everything full circle by showing Rey in the same planet baby Yoda and his cool mercenary dad once visited was a great way to end the trilogy.
- Rey, her two ghost parents, and a robot that i guess she stole from Poe. truly the happiest ending.
- Why is everyone so obsessed with last names? I bet that old woman was a tax collector.âOh youâre a Skywalker? your relatives left the planet withou paying their light bill, itâs you debt now loser.â and luke just awkwardly fades away while rey stares at him.
Honestly there were parts of the movie i genuinely enjoyed: the han solo scene, pretty much every Ben solo scene, pretty much every trio scene(the whole thing with poe wanting to know what finn was going to say makes it seem like he is jealous of rey and i hate that it goes nowhere) and i actually love the part where rey puts her lightsaber behind her, and ben taking it from behind his.Â
But overall the Snoke clone army would have been a better plot. I mean no one in this movie even told Rey she looks pretty with her head cut open.
Also fuck JJ for what he did to Rose, seriously if you didnât watch the last jedi you wouldnât even know her name.Fuck him and this cowardly movie for doing this to Kelly Marie Tran.
#star wars#star wars ros#ros spoilers#i would like to thank JJ for revealing the rey palpatine thing before the movie came out#effectively killing any interest i had in it#cause i think this movie would have really hurt me otherwise#by the way two people on my right kept looking at their phones during the movie#one checking his messages and another couple taking multiple selfies#and like i wanted to be annoyed but at the same time#i kinda get it#at least it wasn't transphobic i guess#im not sure i can say the same about the other movie playing

Thoughts on The Crimes of Grinderwald ( Spoilers ahead)
The Good
The one thing I did appreciate in this movie ( apart from Jude Law as Dumbledore he was great actually the cast minus Depp i did like. Depp in my opinion just does not make a good Grinderwald) was their effort to show how Grinderwald and Supremacists like him might entice others. Voldemort wasn't shown recruiting anyone who didn't already share his views in the books. But Grinderwald is at a stage where he wants to be able to sway the common Witch/Wizard to his side and incorporate his ideology. So he does things like incite a crowd causing a auror to kill after a perceived attack ( in self defense) and then citing it as a example that the other side are the clear villains here.
Or saying things like he doesn't consider muggles to be inferior just different and offers others a chance to change the future between magic folk and muggles in public. But then in private refers to them as beasts of burden before ordering the murder of a muggle baby.
Or using fear of a dangerous and uncertain future to push the general public to pick a extreme option to prevent a more terrible outcome.
Its not done perfectly and there are alot of flaws. But the attempt to illustrate how Grinderwald and supremacists like him minipulate is something I appreciate.
The bad
Tying up plot threads from the last movie: Namely Credence's death and Jacob having his memory back. I would have liked a better explanation. I think its possible that I might get one in the next movie for at least Credence but even if that is true it still made a sloppy transition from the end of the last movie because Credence's unfair life and death was a pretty big deal in the last movie.
The blood pact: Its never explicitly said that Dumbledore is gay or likes Grinderwald. But I could have accepted it due to the mirror scene, the closer than brothers line and Dumbledore constantly claiming he couldn't fight Grinderwald but offering no explanation as to why. It seemed to me that it was strongly implying he had still had feelings and therefore couldn't face Grinderwald. Despite them not explicitly saying this. But then they went and ruined it by putting in the blood pact. I mean you still have a couple scenes implying things but it kinda makes things feel less compelling. It would have been a much stronger arc if you saw Dumbledore muster the conviction to face Grinderwald despite having feelings. More than some plot convenience blood pact which prevented the confrontation. That being said they could have easily had a moment where there past relationship was brought up despite the dumbass blood pact. Like there is 0 reason to dance around the subject. Still there are sequels so maybe it will be brought up in those so I wont be too harsh now.
Nagini: With all the scandal involving the whole thing about Nagini being secretly a woman I felt that Rowling had pushed it for a purpose. It didn't really improve the original hp story in any way but I wondered if it maybe added to this one. If it had anything to add to this series it wasn't added in this installment. Nagini had a bit part and her cursed to a snake form was something that was not really important at all. Maybe it will for the next movie but from what was revealed in this one I don't really see how.
The only one strong enough to stop Grinderwald/Dumbledore: Â The ministry pushes Dumbledore to kill Grinderwald insisting he is the only one strong enough to. And admittedly Dumbledore is strong the Ministry should want him on board. But they act as tho Dumbledore is their only chance. This push to make this a one on one fight makes no sense. As far as I know unlike Voldemort Grinderwald was powerful but had nothing that made him effectively immortal. And the same could be said for Dumbledore. Dumbledore was a strong force against Voldemort not because of his magical strength but because his tactics made Voldemort Falter and Dumbledore could outwit him. And Harry was a strong Force because he made this unkillable thing disappear as a baby. Grinderwald might see Dumbledore as a powerful foe but if he has him under a blood pact then why is he so keen on killing him? Shouldn't he be more interested in world domination? Shouldn't that be what this story is focused on? But no what ties all the different sides together is their interest in Credence. And Grinderwald is interested in him because he can defeat Dumbledore. Even more importantly Dumbledore got the Order of Merlin for defeating Grinderwald so ya he was strong but would he really have that much of a reputation before he did? In terms of fighting skill I mean. His work in alchemy is another story. Â Also tied to this is the ministry pushing Newt to go after Credence and join the Ministry. Like Dumbledore is one thing but why are you so interested in recruiting a magical biologist to be a auror. Its like if you were asked to pick the ideal person for a manhunt in New York and your choice was Jane Goodall.
Queenie: This really stood out to me because I really liked her character in the first movie. So in this movie she enchants Jacob to marry her. This isn't a unappealing idea to him infact it is a kinda ideal end goal for him but there are good reasons why he's afraid to pursue this and they are all legitimate reasons to say no. He has every right no say no even if he has feelings for her and likes the idea of being married to her. Its his choice and she was going to steal that from him. She probably would have if Newt hadn't intervented. And if that was shown to develop her character and make her undergo an arc and be held responsible for her actions I would have accepted that. But its not. Jacob doesn't really get mad at her or point out how fucked up it was she did that. Newt never tells Jacob that it was when he is pining for her after. Its never mentioned that this is a thing that might need to be discussed when he sees her again. In fact the only issue to arise from this is Queenie wants to take a risk and get married and Jacob thinks its too risky and Queenie sees it as cowardly. This could be a interesting arguement in its own right but this argument completely glosses over the you just mind controlled me plot point.
And then to make things worse she then joins Grinderwald because....? Like ya he offers her the chance to marry Jacob by changing the rules about this kinda thing. But even if you discount the whole thing about her reading minds and possibly seeing the baby incident, she really believed him that fast? She is a little eccentric but she's not stupid. But lets say she was desperate and believed him. She could clearly see and tell that this idea of joining Grinderwald was turning him off and pushing him away from her. So she chooses to join Grinderwald to be closer to Jacob when by joining Grinderwald will only push them apart based on his reactions to him. Or maybe she will just enchant him again cuz clearly no one sees it as a huge deal.
Im sorry I harp on this a bit but when it comes to men being minipulated into sex or romance or relationships via magical means( love potions or enchantments) Rowling treats the thing as casual. Not seriously fucked up. Even for Merlope from what I remember the problem was more that the dad left she became distraught and died and her actions led to Voldemort being a thing. How fucked up her actions were are kinda glossed over. Same with Romilda Vane trying to drug Harry. Or Mrs Weasely casually mentioning she used love potions in school as if it was this perfectly acceptable thing.
Aurelius Dumbledore: Why just why? And then they added that shit about Dumbledore's family being tied to Pheonixes. Not every interesting thing about a character needs a special unique power or birthright. It would have been fine if Dumbledore just befriended Fawkes and Fawkes followed him because they got along well. Like no special prophecy needed. It felt like Rowling just needed a good twist as to who Credence was because he was actively searching for his family to find out more about himself. So he had to be related to someone very important. But why go with that at all? The most unique thing about Credence was that he was a obscurus. That's not a genetic thing. Finding out who your family is wouldn't help with that. Wouldn't it make more sense if he sought out someone who did know about Obsuruses ? Like say Newt? In fact that would also get Newt involved without the whole Ministry pushing a magical biologist to become an auror subplot. He could be trying to keep Credence safe while the ministry wants to lock him up because of Grinderwald's interest in him. Grinderwald is interested in the power he posesses and not just because its a good way to kill Dumbledore but in general, and Yusuf wants him dead because he thinks Credence is Corvus. And Newt just wants to help him because he thinks Credence should be able to be free. And eventually the problem is solved because Love and familiarity was apparently the way to handle the Obscurus and Credence has finally met someone who gives two shits about him. Newt.
Instead you get Dumbledores Secret brother and Credence being obsessed about his heritage because he's a orphan of course he is. Â Not that orphans would by default have interest in who their birth parents were, but it just feels like the stereotypical plot for a orphan when you could have done something else that could be ( in my opinion) more interesting.Â

How do you feel when people call Voldemort dumb, cartoonish villain? Do you think he is?
They only paid attention to Movie!Voldemort. In the films, every character is dumbed down considerably. On my main blog, I am doing a re-read of the HP series and am keeping everyone up to date with my observations. I have observed a lot.
Vernon is 10X worse in the books. Easily talking of beating Harry, hating Harry, and expressing no remorse over the thought of him dying. Heâs made to be a joke in the films. He is in fact, very abusive and love to lord that fact over others.
Ron is 10X smarter in the books. All of his quotes were given to other characters in the films or just left out. He was regulated to an attempt at comic relief in the film.
Book!Myrtle talks of trying to kill herself after being chased off from Nickâs Deathday Party. Sheâs more playful in the films but in the movie she has tantrums all the time.
Voldemort monologues in the books, but it also shows his thought process. Limited time in the films means they cut out a lot of his character and the way he thinks.
In the films, things were changed/cut to conserve time. In the books however, there is more depth.
Tom Marvolo Riddle: I Am Lord VoldemortBlood Status: Half-Blood(in denial)Born: 31 Dec 1926Died: 2 May 1998Birthplace: Woolâs Orphanage, LondonTalents: Parseltongue, Powerful Magic, CharismaMother: Merope Riddle nĂ©e Gaunt - PurebloodFather: Tom Riddle Sr. - MuggleHogwarts House: Slytherin - Head Boy
Notable Happenings in his Childhood/Teen Years:
The Great Depression.
WWII - leads to him witnessing the aftermath of The Blitz. As well as perpetual bombings of London long after the Blitz ended.
Magical War - Grindelwald lording over the magicals all over the world.
Tom Marvolo Riddle was conceived through use of a Love Potion. His mother, in an effort to permanently escape her abusive father and brother, who were in prison for the time being, decided to dose the Muggle she obsessively fancied. She then forced him to marry her, take her to London, and have sex with her.
Over time she began to feel guilty, but waited until she was far along in her pregnancy before releasing Tom from her influence. She had hoped he would at least stay for the baby. However, he didnât(nor should he have had to). He fled in a panic and she had nothing to her name but the Slytherin Locket, which she pawned off in Knockturn Alley in hopes of getting something to live off of. That didnât work much either.
She managed to give birth to Tom Marvolo Riddle in an orphanage and died shortly after naming him after his father and her father. She also made a wish for him to look like Tom Sr.. She âdied of a broken heartâ that in my personal opinion is a load of bull since she forced herself on someone and has only herself to blame for the situation she was in.
Now TMR grows up in the orphanage where people think his oddly named mother was a circus performer since she was so hideous(thanks to inbreeding) and had no man with her. Tom grows up being able to do things others cannot and believes himself to be special.
Like other magical children who show natural aptitude, he wasnât liked. Much like Hermione Granger wasnât. He was smart and studious, and poor children who are fighting to get adopted out of a mediocre hellhole during the Great Depression, arenât going to like that.
He had altercations with some of the children. The matron, a drunkard, blames him entirely. He is framed to be a delinquent, kind of like how the Dursleys had everyone thinking of Harry. And he is a child who grows to hate people who treat him terribly just because he isnât their definition of ânormalâ.
When he finds out he has magic, he ends up revealing that he can speak to snakes. A teacher, who is supposed to be impartial but who took the words of a woman who inhaled multiple glasses of gin while complaining about how unnatural Tom was, decided to treat him like a monster on the brink of snapping any day. Because of a language. He never told Tom what it meant either.
Tom is a hard worker. He is sorted into Slytherin which is known for treating those who are not Pureblooded, terribly. And with a non-magical name like Riddle, he was probably disliked for a time. And he worked to gain the favor of his professors, save for the one walking on eggshells around him of course.
He begins to collect prominent Slytherins and makes his little group, the Knights of Walpurgis.
In his 6th Year, he opens the Chamber of Secrets after searching so long for information on his ancestry. Marvolo was a magical name, and he somehow learned of Parseltongue being a Slytherin Family trait. So he researches and studies, and finally finds what heâs looking for, though is unhappy to find that his mother was his magical parent. After all, she was weak and died. Why didnât she save herself and decide to leave him in such a horrible place?
And during these years, he develops a fear of death. But how and why? People scared of dying, are usually faced with a near-death experience, or are made blatantly aware of something dangerous that can cause it. Take a look back at the âHappeningsâ during his childhood. Muggle war. Blown up buildings. Thousands of people dead. Him being forced to go back to that every summer thereby putting his existence on the line.
These are what created Lord Voldemort. This is his history. A magical orphan growing up in WWII in the thick of the danger, while the world is going through a Great Depression. These experiences shape him.
Orphans cling to anything they own, which helped make him possessive of his belongings. And keeping things from kids who bothered him, isnât a bad thing in my opinion since I did the same when people tried bullying me. If you didnât want your hat to get ruined/taken, you shouldnât have punched me in the face, simple. Keep your hands to yourself.
Tom Riddle as a character has nuance. But he lost his mind with the Horcruxes. He made so many that we see a vast difference in the Tom from the Diary - who has the largest soul piece - and Voldemort from GoF and onward. Looks aside, he starts getting repetitive, and a little frantic in action. He doesnât plan things out. Why?
Horcruxes eff you up. He made 7. Heâs operating on the smallest sliver of his soul and he looked like a scaley cosplayer gone wrong. The whole point of DH was to show how bad Horcruxes are and when you compare Diary!Tom to DH!Voldemort, they are massively different. Both possessive and obsessive, but still vastly different.
Voldemort ends up as a shriveled up baby-look-alike at the end of DH, never to leave Limbo. Horcruxes did that to him. Mutilated him terribly. He went mad because of his own foolishness.
Now do I think that Rowling could have done more with his character? Yes. But book Voldemort has a very interesting background, and the beauty of it, is that Rowling alludes to much in her books. She doesnât spell everything out for the readers, and expects you to read between the lines.
So for those of us who have been in situations like Severus, Harry, or Tomâs, we see what is wrong with their childhoods and understand better. We pick up little things.
Take Harry for example. There are people claiming he wasnât abused by the Dursleys, but then the books show him being locked in his room, bars put on his window, a cat flap placed on the door, and Petunia conveniently only feeding him and Hedwig one can of soup a day for 3 days in a row. Or how Harry learned a lesson all abused kids learn early on. [Donât ask questions!] For those of us whoâve been through things like that, it sticks out for us.
Voldemort is an example of what went wrong in the worst way. He, Severus, and Harry are examples of the same thing going in three different directions. Voldemort got into Dark Magic and became obsessed, losing himself as he happily drowned in it. Severus got into Dark Magic and realized he was in too deep but it was too late to save him. Harry got into Dark Magic, realized it wasnât good, and chose to stop thanks to the examples of the two before him, warning him away.
We are supposed to juxtapose Harry and Voldemort. Harry being on the one end of the spectrum and Voldemort being on the opposite end. âItâs our choicesâ and all that rubbish.
[LIGHT]â-|â-[DARK]Â
Voldemort, while not as detailed as I think he should have been toward the end, did what his character was supposed to. And that is to prove that absolute power demoralizes.
He is not cartoonish, though he is a drama queen and an attention seeker. But in the words of Sherlock Holmes, âthe frailty of genius, [John], it needs an audienceâ.

Five favorite HP characters? Five least favorite? Yur top five HP Otps, five HP notps, and five favorite HP brotps? And five unpopular opinions about the series? Have fun!
Things sounds fun! And hard :P
Favorite HP characters:
1. Sirius Black: I love this dude for many reasons. I think the major one is his love for Harry. He was just Harryâs godfather, knew him for a year, yet his sense of loyalty and responsibility (yes, he is capable of that) made him escape Azkaban for Harryâs safety. Sirius loved Harry with all his heart. I also love how wildly dysfunctional, or bitter, or angry he can be. Heâs still a good person, who grew up and realized his mistakes, but heâs one of the most realistic characters. Plus, heâs fun too, and charismatic and compelling.
2. Remus Lupin: Remus is just a patient, kind, intelligent person that faces lifeâs challenges with grace and dignity. Heâs forgiving and capable of smiling and being decent even in the darkest of times. The backslash from that is that heâs often too forgiving (for example, of Snape) and doesnât stand up for himself. But his self-loathing make him relatable. He also walked away from Harry and his previous life (Sirius, for example) without once glancing back, apparently, which is perhaps his worst, and very human, flaw.Â
3. Nymphadora Tonks: this girl is my newest addition to my fictional girl squad. (Donât ask me how that happened.) Tonks is bright, young, energetic, fun, badass. Sheâs Moodyâs favorite and that guy doesnât like people easily. Sheâs a young Auror and McGonagall said they hadnât recruited a new Auror in years! Tonksâs favorite hair color is bubblegum pink! Who doesnât love a girl who likes her hair pink? And whoâs clumsy and adorably excited to be married and to have a baby? Tonks wouldâve been a great wife and mother had she lived and her death is the worst one, because she was so young and had Teddy.Â
4. Dobby: heâs just the sweetest okay? He loves Harry, proves that elves can be independent and make their own choices even if limited by their magic. He was a hero who was kind to wizards and fellows elves. Ps: Have a Harry Christmas!
5. Harry Potter: heâs my fictional son. I love Harry so much. In terms of characters, Iâd rate him higher than Dobby, except that Dobby never annoys me. Harry is brave, smart, loyal, strong, kind, witty, a tad angry and ruthless. I relate a lot to him sometimes, especially in the Order of the Phoenix. I canât understand his blinding loyalty to Dumbledore (which can be said of all the characters), nor can I understand him in the Half-Blood Prince. And letâs not discuss how he named his children⊠Still, Harryâs a wonderful person, a great main character.Â
Least Favorite HP characters:
1. Albus Dumbledore: I know heâs not as evil or manipulative as people might think. And itâs easy to blame him for most things considering his many responsibilities in the wizarding world. Dumbledore often had the best intentions, was forgiving and compassionate, but it doesnât mean he wasnât a terrible headmaster who endangered his students, often for no good reason. He put his interest in defeating Voldemort (a worthy cause) above his duties as headmaster. He abused the power he had many times. He shouldâve many a decision between dedicating his life to defeating Voldemort or to being a responsible headmaster. I find it hard to forgive people that fail children and teenagers like that. Also, the blind loyalty people bestowed him is perhaps the worst thing about HP to me.
2. Severus Snape: while his arc from late OotP to DH is compelling, his character is severely overrated. Snape is the classic childrenâs âvillainâ throughout most of the books. His attitude is tiring and monotonous. I fail to see the good writing of his character for the most part. Weâre told over and over again, via Harry, that hating Snape is wrong, because heâs âgoodâ. I find this immensely disturbing and upsetting. Harry shouldâve been allowed to hate Snape, always. None of his sob story erases the fact that he was abusive to children and unfit to be in a position of power. I will never respect a person who hates and hurts children. Period.
3. Voldemort: I think heâs a boring and ineffective villain. Rowlingâs strengths as a writer never rested on the bad guys. The writing for Voldemort was always weak, and the message âpower is wrongâ is unoriginal and overly simplistic. While some of this backstory may have been interesting (his familyâs history was compelling), Voldemortâs evilness resides in him having never been loved, which is the story of every villain ever, and not something to base half a book on.Â
4. Bellatrix Lestrange: for someone who kills most of my favorite characters, she isnât anything to write home about. Bellatrix isnât a rich villain character and she is very hard to root for. Sheâs pure evil, unlike her sister Narcisa whose love for her son make her interesting and sympathetic. Bellatrix seems to care a bit about her sister, and Voldemort, but she kills two family members, and doesnât seem to care at all about her husband. What are her motivations? How did she come to worship Voldemort? Sheâs also not the wittiest character.Â
5. Molly Weasley: couldâve chosen other characters, but Molly is an important one that I donât love. Sheâs amazing in the beginning. Until book 4, sheâs warm, loving and kind, particularly to her sonâs best friend. However, it becomes clear with time that she favors some her children, like Percy or Ginny, over others, like Ron or the twins. She also sometimes cares more about Harry than her own family. She listens to Daily Prophet rubbish and snubs Hermione even if she knew (from a previous article about Arthur) how much Rita Skeeter lies. She didnât even write to Harry at all, despite her apparent concern. This wouldâve been fine (sheâs only Ronâs mom after all) if she didnât like to consider herself Harryâs mom (she even attacks Sirius over this). If sheâs Harryâs âmomâ, she isnât a good one. She doesnât treat him like her other children and she doesnât ever talk to Harry and show that sheâs there for him, emotionally. Feeding someone isnât enough. Molly also yells all the time, and is very unsupportive and impatient with her less than âperfectâ children. She shows them no respect too, like in the DH when sheâs trying to keep the Trio from communicatingâŠÂ
OTPs:
1. Sirius/James: Iâve fallen in love with these two. I donât necessarily ship them within the books, but Sirius and James were perfect together. They knew the other best and respected and loved each other until their very last breath. If Sirius was ever in love with anyone, it was obviously James.Â
2. Remus/Tonks: Tonks is fiery, young and more carefree. Remus is the opposite. They balance each other. And have a cute baby togetherâŠÂ
3. Fleur/Bill: No one took Fleur seriously, but she loved Bill wholeheartedly. She tried to befriend his family, had the wedding in their house, and didnât even think twice after Bill was mauled by Greyback.
4. James/Lily: Not an OTP but Iâve run out of HP OTPs. James adorably doodled Lilyâs name in his exames, and was in love with her for a long time. They seemed to be the definition of domestic bliss, which is nice.Â
5. Arthur/Molly: their dynamic was unbalanced, but their love was genuine.Â
NOTPs:
1. Minor character/Adult character: Be it Sirius/Harry (gag) or Snape/Harry (gag) or any other pairing like that, Iâm disgusted. I honestly donât even care if itâs one of those time travel fics, whenever I see any HP student (in the 7 books) paired with an adult, I throw up a little.Â
2. Harry/Tom Riddle Jr: like, what??? I canât evenâŠÂ
3. Draco/Hermione: honestly, whatâs with the Draco obsession? He really isnât that interesting. Draco and Hermione dislike each other, and thatâs it.Â
4. Draco/Harry: I guess this pairing makes a tad more sense but I still donât get it. Sometimes, I dislike you means just that.Â
5. Sirius/Remus: Iâve read a lot of fanfiction on them, but, in reality, theyâre not that great. Weâre talking about two characters that turned on each other, and barely seemed to reconnect post-Azkaban. Itâs not like Remus was of any help to Sirius in OotP. His input was exclusively to tell Sirius to shut up or stay put. And who lets a loved one go to jail without a trial or some kind of confrontation?Â
BROTPs:
1. Sirius/James: duh. They had the best friendship. They finished each otherâs sentences, pretty much, were best friends until they died, were almost always together, and trusted each other absolutely. Even if you combine Harry/Ron with Harry/Hermioneâs friendships, James and Sirius were better friends.Â
2. The Weasley Twins: the strictly platonic version of James and Sirius. They had an amazing dynamic. Still makes me sad to think of George without Fred. People couldnât even tell them apart!
3. Hermione/Harry/Ron: the trio was pretty flawless when it came to unconditional support and love.Â
4. Harry/Luna: there was something really sweet and reassuring about their friendship, especially after Sirius died.Â
5. Padfoot/Crookshanks: when you nearly burn yourself trying to get your face up close to someoneâs face who is in a fireplace, thatâs real love.Â
Unpopular Opinions:
1. Order of the Phoenix is the best HP book. It has great, realistic characterization, a great villain (Umbridge), badass activist organizations (Order and D.A), great new characters, suspense, action and drama.Â
2. Half-Blood Prince is very overrated. The whole book is mostly a set up for the next book, while ignoring the previous book and containing terrible teen romance.
3. Hermioneâs a hypocrite. Frequently breaks the rules when it suits her (like when she unleashed a flock of birds on Ron), tries to force house-elves to be free, despite their loud objections, while claiming to respect them, etc.Â
4. Molly Weasley is not a great mother. As I said before, she plays favorites, overcoddles her children, neglects their emotional well-being, etc.Â
5. The books are often political and preachy and best be read by people who are capable of critical thinking (and often not children). I would personally not let my children read past the first 3 books. I find myself disagreeing with a lot of HPâs morality lessons and think children lack the ability to see J.K. Rowlingâs flaws and the flaws in some of her characters, like Dumbledore or Snape who are romanticized in the end.Â
Thanks for the ask! This took a long time. If anyone has any followup questions, feel free to ask!

Harry Potter: 10 Things From Deathly Hallows Part 2 That Haven't Aged Well
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 marked the long-awaited conclusion of the Harry Potter series for fans who read the novels as they were coming out. The final book pulled together many of the strings, plot lines and mysteries that had been building for years. While not everyone loved everything about the book, overall it left a satisfying conclusion in many peopleâs opinion. While the second half of the book may have been action-packed and filled with battles, there were some things about it that missed the mark.
Here are 10 things from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 that havenât aged well.
10 SNAPEâS OBSESSION WITH LILY
This final book in the series brought closure and information on Snape as a character. The true reason for his turning away from Voldemort was revealed after his death by the memory Snape gave to Harry. While Lily and Snape might have started off as friends, his love of dark magic and pull to the Death Eaters ruined that. The fact that he wasnât able to let go of her and spent his whole life pining after her isnât sweet, but rather disturbing.
RELATED:Â 10 Things About Severus Snape That Have Not Aged Well
9 THE EPILOGUE
One of the main things that fans didnât like about the book was the epilogue. While it attempted to give a hopeful and positive conclusion to Harryâs story by giving him a family, readers had a lot of questions. First, the couples in the epilogue seemed too easy and it didnât feel that realistic to many people. And many fans were confused by why Harry would name his son after Snape as opposed to someone who had been good to him all along, like Sirius or Hagrid.
8 FRED WEASLEYâS DEATH
Some of the most tragic moments in the entire Harry Potter series happen in the latter half of Deathly Hallows. There are many deaths to contend within the series, but for many fans, Fredâs death was one of the worst. It just didnât seem right to leave George in the world without his best friend and partner in crime.Itâs also tragic to imagine all of the Weasley family having to deal with this loss. Even though, from a story standpoint, it makes sense that not all the Weasleys would make it out alive, this one still stings today.
7 TONKS AND LUPIN DYING
Here we have yet another death that happens at the Battle of Hogwarts. This death is especially difficult because of what Tonks and Lupin leave behind. Their son Teddy is just a baby when they die. These deaths were definitely a parallel to Harryâs own parents. However, it did seem unnecessary and mostly just like a narrative "coming full circle" moment to have them die. It would have been better if Lupin lived and at least one Marauder survived.
RELATED:Â 10 Things Harry Potter Movie Fans Missed About Tonks (From The Books)
6 HARRY LYING TO GRIPHOOK
Some of the most valid criticisms of the Harry Potter series has been about how intelligent beings such as goblins and house-elves were depitcted. Many felt that these characters and races had links to problematic racial stereotypes. One thing is for sure, the way these intelligent beings are treated in the wizarding world isnât good. When Harry lies to Griphook about when he will give him the Gryffindor sword back, itâs not a good look.
5 DOBBYâS DEATH
Although there have already been many tragic deaths mentioned on this list, one of the worst overall was the death of Dobby. While Dobby might have been an eccentric character, he was definitely beloved and extremely loyal to Harry. Dobby was able to find a better life and get fair treatment, making it really tough to see him die. The impact on Harry was profound. However, this death seems somewhat unnecessary and like it could have been left out.

4 LEARNING THAT DUMBLEDORE PLANNED A WIZARD UPRISING WITH GRINDELWALD
This book is full of a lot of things about Dumbledoreâs past. This is where we learn that Dumbledore was not the purely good wizard he seemed to be. His history with Grindelwald in regards to Muggles was hard to read about. Dumbledoreâs past, and learning how good he was at manipulating people, makes it hard to trust any of his actions looking back. One thing is for sure, it was quite the twist.
3 HARRY USING THE IMPERIUS CURSE
Ever since the Unforgivable Curses are introduced in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, itâs made clear that only dark wizards really ever use them. They are called "Unforgivable" for a reason. So when Harry himself uses the Imperius Curse to break into Gringotts, itâs definitely hard to read about. While it might be justified in a way, thereâs definitely an argument to be had about whether it was right or wrong to do .
RELATED:Â Harry Potter: 10 Things About The Unforgivable Curses The Movies Leave Out
2 DUMBLEDORE AND ABERFORTH ACCIDENTALLY KILLING ARIANA
There are so many things about Dumbledoreâs past that are hard to swallow. First of all, the way he manipulated Harry all along and basically guided him like a lamb to the slaughter. Second, his history with Grindelwald. But then, there is one other horrible revelation: Aberforth explains how it was a duel between himself and Dumbledore that accidentally lead to Arianaâs death.
1 THE REDEMPTION STORY OF SEVERUS SNAPE
As hinted at earlier on this list, Snapeâs story is given an end and explanation in this last book. The book tries to give Snape a redemption arc to prove that he was actually more good than bad all along. The fact that Harry names his son after him and seems to associate Snape with bravery more than anything else is pretty messed up when you think about it. Snape was a cruel person who treated Harry, Neville, and many of his students abusively. He was also hateful and creepy, and his obsession with Lily wasnât cute.

John Galt, Harry Potter, and Hero Problems
There is a problem with heroes. Today we will not solve this problem, but we will look at two examples, John Galt and Harry Potter. Articulating the problem is often half the battle.
"Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand is one of the most polarizing books ever written, people usually either love it or hate it. The book is about the slow fall and collapse of American society. John Galt is the hero, although we almost never see him, and even hear very little about him. He's a genius that created a way to generate unlimited free power, but because of the systemic corruption in the society he walked away from the entire society and started his own. (Atlas was the Titan that was punished by being forced to hold up the sky, although he's usually depicted as holding up the world. Ayn Rand states that the story is really a closer take on Prometheus. Prometheus is the Titan that stole fire from Olympus and gave it to man. For that he is chained to a rock and his liver is eaten every day by an eagle. "Atlas Shrugged" is Prometheus withdrawing his gifts.)
So, what's the problem? The problem is that Ayn Rand's depiction of the black and grey characters is beautiful. But, the white characters, namely John Galt, are a bit flat. I've seen that term used a number of times in reference to Rand's heroes in "Atlas Shrugged". I think it's a little off, and I'll explain why in just a moment.
Rand's villains are wonderful. It's quite disturbing how well she was able to clearly see the growing problems in American culture. When I read it in my teens I was amazed at how similar the book sounded to the news. The incompetent business people trying to protect their assets by buying off the government to pass laws that limit the opportunity for entrepreneurs is right on. The slipping away from focus on the individual as the foundation of society is true. Her grey characters are great too, people that struggle with adjusting to society and trying to reconcile their spirit and soul with the corruption. Heroes seemed to give her a bit more trouble.
There are two reasons that the idea of Rand's heroes being flat is a bit off though. One, there are grey characters that end up growing towards being greater heroes. As an example, Hank Rearden is compromising in everything in his life except his business. In the end he corrects that. This type of thing happens with a few characters. These are not "flat" characters at all.
John Galt is a bit different. Here Rand is trying to depict a version of the perfect man. What type of yogurt would the perfect man like? That's the problem. If you get too detailed then it's hard to depict perfection. What people are trying to say when they call him flat is that he is abstract. There is a lot left to the imagination. His character has a lot of variables. We don't know much about him on purpose. You can't be abstract and have vivid detail at the same time. The only thing that is very detailed about John Galt is his philosophy. Near the end of the book he articulates his philosophy in a radio broadcast. That speech is one of the foundation stones of the philosophy later known as Objectivism. (Objectivism was put together is a more explicit manner by Nathaniel Branden, but that's a whole other story.)
There's the first problem with heroes, perfection has to be abstract. Another quick example. I was watching a tv show with my mother that had a great artist in it. We saw a few of his pictures. They didn't seem that great to me, but whatever. Then we learned that there is a special painting that is completely different that he has never shown to anyone else. He shows it to one other woman. The shot is from behind the painting looking at the actors. My mother remarked that she wanted to see the picture. I told her that to show the picture would ruin the entire thing. No painting can live up to that kind of build up. The greatest painting of all time? That's hard to make. Even if you made a great painting not everyone is going to agree with it. To show the painting would have ruined that entire episode, so they didn't. Instead, it's better to see the reaction on the woman's face when she sees the painting for the first time. To show perfection, you can't show it directly. Rand did this same thing with Galt.
Here's a poem, then we'll look at Harry Potter.
- - - - - - -
There's a problem with heroes,
they're hard to create.
And they're most needed
as an answer to fate.
- - - - - - -
The "Harry Potter" series is the best selling book series in all of history. Harry Potter is a boy that is destined to fight the greatest dark wizard of all time, Voldemort. His mother died trying to protect him from a killing curse. That sacrifice caused the killing curse that Voldemort tried to use on the baby Harry Potter to backfire. Voldemort's body was destroyed, but he was able to survive by some special preparations he had made. Part of Voldemort's soul is transferred to Harry Potter at the same time. From there on their stories are linked until the end. It's a genius story.
So, what's the problem? The problem is that Harry Potter and his allies fight Voldemort in different ways for years. He seeks to destroy evil because that is his destiny, but he is only a destroyer, not a creator. After Voldemort is destroyed Harry Potter gets a job, has a family, puts on a couple of pounds, and is boring. The greatest destroyer of evil may not be that good at anything else. Destroying bad things is not the same as making good things.
Do you want to have a hero that can only fight evil? What if there's no evil? If your hero can only fight evil, and you want to be like your hero, and there isn't a great evil to fight, do you find something to fight anyway? If you're finding things to fight even if they aren't necessarily evil, doesn't that make you the villain? What do you do if you win? Settle down? Find another fight?
I think this is a serious problem. Let's look at a few definitions of hero. Here's what Google says.
- - - - - - -
a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.
"a war hero"
synonyms: brave man, champion, man of courage, great man, man of the hour, conquering hero, victor, winner, conqueror, lionheart, warrior, paladin, knight, white hat
antonyms: coward, loser
the chief male character in a book, play, or movie, who is typically identified with good qualities, and with whom the reader is expected to sympathize.
synonyms: male protagonist, principal male character
antonyms: villain
(in mythology and folklore) a person of superhuman qualities and often semi-divine origin, in particular one whose exploits were the subject of ancient Greek myths.
- - - - - - -
To show noble qualities you need to have high stakes, and there's nothing higher than the potential or real destruction of the world. For courage, there's nothing better than standing up to the greatest dark wizard of all time. There isn't a more outstanding achievement than defeating that dark wizard. Harry Potter also has a semi-divine origin with special love magic protecting him from death and having part of another soul in him. Harry Potter is a great hero. Harry Potter is a destroyer. I think that's a problem.
Now, to have creation there must be destruction. To have good stuff someone must protect that good stuff. But, is protection primary to creation? It seems to be in our hero stories. Is this good? I'm not so sure. Alas, I have not worked out good alternatives. That may be work for a lifetime.
Part of the problem might be this. In order to create something great you may have to do some things that aren't that great. Maybe by creating a large business you put another small business out to pasture. That's not great. But, it's not evil. The problem is that it's hard to justify it. "I'm trying to make a great business." isn't a justification that a lot of people like. "I ignore my family because I'm obsessed with making great paintings." also isn't something people like to hear. Harry Potter does a lot of sketchy stuff too. But, "I'm trying to save the world from the greatest dark wizard of all time, and I'm the only one that can do it." is a great justification for breaking rules and doing morally sketchy stuff if need be. I think this justification issue may be a big part of it.
John Galt is abstract and Harry Potter is a destroyer. These are two of the greatest literary heroes in history. And, they are great heroes. It just seems to me that we're still searching for a way to make a better hero. Notice too that neither John Galt nor Harry Potter are able to actually improve society. John Galt withdraws from society and Harry Potter defeats evil, but neither make the society better, they just try to stop it from being worse. These are both takes on dystopia. Maybe it's more important to avoid a dystopia than it is to try to create a utopia? Utopias usually go poorly, so maybe.
Heroes are needed to show values and behavioral patterns. Whether we are successful or not, the struggle to create better heroes is always worth it. And a struggle it is.
Here are some side notes.
All living things are slanted towards putting more emphasis on avoiding bad things. That's because you can only take so many bad things before your light goes out. You can experience an infinite amount of good things, there is no limit there, so it's more important to avoid those bad things. That's why the news draws our attention with bad things. Even when things are getting better the news is always promoting bad things, it's the only way for them to stay in business. So maybe these aren't solvable problems because they are built into human nature. There is much to think about here.
Historically, many of the great heroes were prophets. Now we think of prophets as being predictors of the future. They didn't use to be though. Historically a prophet had the function of showing where a society was going wrong and in which direction it should move to correct itself. This is kind of the same idea as Ayn Rand and J. K. Rowling pointing out where the society is going wrong and what we should avoid.
I think Prometheus is one of the most important stories in the history of Western civilization. Ayn Rand used it in "Atlas Shrugged" and in her novella "Anthem". Lord Byron and Percy Shelley both wrote poems on Prometheus. Mary Shelley wrote "Frankenstein", most people forget the rest of the title, "The Modern Prometheus". And of course, there's the original "Prometheus Bound" by Aeschylus. We forget this work at our own peril.
Here are my other Harry Potter articles where I focused on evil.

Harry Potter
send me a fandom and iâll tell youâŠ
the first character i ever fell in love with: it was probably luna lovegood or draco malfoy. like i really donât remember who i liked as a kid, but i remember falling in love with both of them when i went back and rewatched the first five movies when i frst got into the series hardcore at age twelve. and reading the books only made me love them more.Â
a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: oh geez, i donât think there are any really?? like all the characters are just so well written and developed. i guess maybe harry but i donât think there was ever really a time that i super liked him?? iâve kind of just always been meh about his angsty teenage ass.
a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: okay, in regards to fanon ships--- i shipped ginny/draco hardcore when i was a preteen. and now iâm like âwhy were you so stupid NOâ. canon ships--- iâd have to say snape/lilly. i used to be like all of you, i thought it was cutest thing ever. then i realized that no. it stopped being cute like 20 years ago.Â
my ultimate favorite characterâą: PROFESSOR MCGONAGALL IS MY QUEEN. but in all honesty iâm draco malfoy trash and we all know it. but also luna lovegood and ginny weasley are my queens and thatâs all iâve got to say to that. iâve also got a lot of love for narcissa malfoy and bellatrix black; i would love a series about them in their hogwarts days iâm just saying.
prettiest character: we all know iâve got a major lady boner for tom felton so i have to say draco. but i also have to say hermoine because god damn she grew up into a beautiful young lady.Â
my most hated character: okay if anyone doesnât answer this with umbridge or quirrell, i canât be friends with that person. quirrell just pissed me off to no ends, and i mean, i can see how umbridge was a terrific villain-- but she wasnât the type of terrific villain you can love. she was such a good villain that EVERYONE hated her. ânuff said.Â
my OTP: OH MAN OKAY HERE WE GO. first off, letâs talk about narcissa & lucius malfoy. i know we donât really get a whole lot on them, but i love the concept behind them and the relationship i can picture for them. despite both being very cold people, you can tell they love each other so much and itâs beautiful. also, remus/tonks are the loves of my life?? like donât even get me started i will write a fucking novella. and finally, i just wish ginny/luna wouldâve been a thing because that wouldâve been adorable as fuck okay.
my NOTP: i repeat, iâm not really into severus/lily. just ask tellie, i went on a tangent about it to her the other night. it was cute in their hogwarts days, but by the seventh book when heâs still in fucking love with her, itâs just like âno pls stopâ. i also dislike drarry with a passion. all my friends ship it and itâs like âWHAT DO YOU EVEN SEE ABOUT THEM THAT MAKES YOU THINK THEYâRE COMPATIBLE I DONâT GET ITâ. i mean iâm not going to tell them not to ship it i just. i donât understand it myself. thereâs gotta me some chemistry (that isnât completely OOC like the fics my friends have tried to show me) and i just donât see any between those two.
favorite episode: see below to watch me rant about the movies/books.
saddest death: okay so fun story. i was reading the first book when deathly hallows (the book) came out, and my friend spoiled fred weasleyâs death for me. and despite that, I JUST TOOK IT SO HARD?? like i love the twins, and especially reading hcâs about george trying to go on with his life without his other half. it kills me. BUT ALSO TONKS AND REMUS, OH MY GOD. like that one just fucks me up hardcore, especially given they had just had a baby and everything. Â
favorite season: GOBLET OF FIRE OR DEATHLY HALLOWS. speaking on both the books and movies, those are definitely my favorites. i love goblet of fire ; i love getting to see the other schools, and the whole âvoldemort coming backâ scene, and just a lot of the smaller stuff that happens in that one. and i mean deathly hallows, holy shit. it was such an epic finish for the series and it was beautiful. and they did such a good job on the movies in my opinion?? like honestly there isnât a single book/movie in the series i dislike. BUT IâM ALSO SUPER OBSESSED WITH FANTASTIC BEASTS RIGHT NOW IF THAT COUNTS FOR ANYTHING.
least favorite season: i repeat, there isnât a single book/movie in the series i dislike, so this one is really hard. in the end, for books at least, i have to say order of the phoenix; it took me months to get through that one for some reason? i thought it was because i wasnât reading anything else at the time and i was just tired of the harry potter world, but when i reread the series i had no issues with it, so? idk. movies wise--- maybe half-blood prince? idk itâs probably the movie i pay the least attention in. or philosopherâs stone. but i love them all so I REALLY DONâT KNOW.
character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate: oh geez, i donât think there is one?? i mean i guess harry would be the closest weâd get to a correct answer for this one. again, i donât hate him, iâm just kind of meh about him and all his angsty teenage chosen one bullshit.
my âyouâre piece of trash, but youâre still a faveâ fave: lol draco malfoy duh. he sucks but i love him.Â
my âbeautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than thisâ fave: ginny weasley deserved a better plot than being harryâs love interest bye. i know sheâs way better in the books which is probably where my love for her derives from, but idk, iâm never going to be content with how that feels like her most major plot point, especially in the movies. SHE DESERVED BETTER THAN HIS TEENAGE ANGST BULLSHIT FACE BYE. also neville longbottom deserves some more love iâm just saying. AND SIRIUS BLACk. SIRIUS DESERVED SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE FATE HE GOT.Â
my âthis ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but i still love itâ ship:Â i honestly donât think i have one?? idk guys apparently i donât ship weird shit. or i just donât feel guilty/see why i should feel guilty or something.Â
my âtheyâre kind of cute, and i lowkey ship them, but iâm not too investedâ shipâ: bill/fleur, neville/hannah and molly/arthur. i can definitely see the cute factor in them but itâs not like i go on emotional rampages about them, yâknow?
