I hope Daniel walks into Aus GP 2025 as a guest of Jack Doohan with the world’s biggest fuck off chain and rings and short shorts now that he’s no longer bound to be wearing Hugo, and i hope he’s bronzed to the GODS and slutty about it too

I would love this so much because we know there are still folks on that team from daniel's renault days (and we know they stayed late in singapore to get to share a moment with him, which I could literally cry about all over again) and then Jack is his little Ricciardo Karts baby and it would be SO special. He would absolutely be full c*nt. Dripping in chains, showing off his chest hair, and looking damn FINE.

Now to be a party pooper, I don't think it will happen because I don't think daniel would want to pull focus from Jack at his first f1 race that also happens to be his first home race. I also would kind of be surprised if we see daniel at an F1 track even next year. I could see him at another motorsports event but probably not in the formula 1 sphere for a while. Obviously a lot can change between now and then but that's my current vibe on this guy i've never met and do not know in real life lol.

"I wish this team all the best for the future. I hope it will be competitive again, as it has been in the past. But yes, there are a lot of new technicians and as I said, I wish them the best. I won't be around in the future to know exactly how it will go, but I hope this brand can shine again."

digging up another one of my 5-sentence fic prompts from a year ago because i reblogged this post and haven't been able to stop thinking about it, so naturally i had to write something about it <3333

this is... not quite 5 sentences, LOL, but it did make me smile a stupid amount. hope it makes you smile, too ❤️

Charles is busy talking to JJ and Pascale outside the Alpine hospitality when his soulmark - a blue swirl vaguely in the shape of a heart, located just below his collarbone, where Pierre loves to kiss - starts to burn with a gentle heat, like it always does when Pierre is close.

"Are you charming my parents again, my love?" Pierre asks, wrapping his arms around Charles' waist from behind and hooking his chin over Charles' shoulder. "Careful, or they'll never let you leave. Maman has been asking after you for months - I think she loves you more than me. Hi, Maman, Papa," he adds belatedly.

Pascale raises one eyebrow, but she's still smiling, soft and fond. "You can't blame me for asking about the man who my son has pined over for half his life, and you especially can't blame me now that you two have finally found your soulmarks."

"Maman!" Pierre protests, and Charles can't see his face, but he knows he's blushing. "It was only about ten years, and I'm twenty-seven. That's not half."

"Just as long as you don't make us wait another ten before you officially make him part of the family," JJ says, and now Charles is blushing, too. "We've waited a very long time for this, you know."

"Okay," Pierre mumbles in the way he always does when he's flustered and trying to hide it. "Well, Charles was coming to visit me before you distracted him, so I'm going to steal him away now, if you don't mind."

"We don't mind..." Pascale says with a sparkle in her eye that reminds Charles of Pierre before a good prank. "... As long as you throw in a good proposal while you're gone."

"Okay!" Pierre half-yells this time, tightening his grip on Charles' waist. "We're going now, thank you."

"It was lovely catching up with you!" Charles calls over his shoulder as Pierre starts towing him away. "I'll see if I can come visit over the winter."

Then Pierre is pulling him into his driver's room and shutting the door behind them, pressing Charles lightly against the door as soon as it closes. "They're terrible," he grumbles, dropping his head onto Charles' shoulder with a dramatic sigh.

"Must be where you get it from," Charles teases, carding his fingers through Pierre's hair. He takes a quick breath before he adds, "Besides, I don't think it's that terrible. Wanting us to get married."

Pierre lifts his head slowly. "Charles," he says, and there's something in his voice that Charles can't quite place. "We haven't even been soulmates for six months."

"No, we've been soulmates for our whole lives," Charles counters. "We only officially found out this year, but I... well, you weren't the only one who was pining for ten years."

"Oh," Pierre says softly, like he somehow hadn't known. Idiotic, wonderful man - as if they don't fit together perfectly in every possible way.

The next thing Charles knows, Pierre is pushing him up against the door with intention. "You know," he says, pinning Charles in place with his eyes as well as his body, "there is a chapel right here, in Vegas. Say the word, and I will go there with you."

"We are not getting married in the Race to the Altar chapel," Charles says firmly, even as his heart skips at the way Pierre's promise feels. Unconditional.

"But we are getting married?" Pierre checks, his gaze never leaving Charles' face.

"Yes, please," Charles says softly, and Pierre's gaze goes dark, like Charles knew it would.

"Good," Pierre says equally softly, breathlessly, and Charles shivers. That is... definitely one of the perks of having your best friend as your soulmate: knowing exactly how to push each other's buttons.

Pierre ducks his head, and tugs Charles' fireproofs down just enough to press his lips against Charles' soulmark. Charles melts against him, like he always has since that night in Zandvoort when Pierre drank a little too much champagne after his first podium for Alpine and "accidentally" kissed Charles on the mouth instead of on the cheek, and just like that, both of their soulmarks appeared.

"I love you," Charles says breathlessly, and not just because Pierre is kissing his neck exactly the way he likes. He also says it because it's true. It's been true for as long as Charles has understood what love is.

Charles can feel Pierre's smile against his skin. "I love you, too," he replies immediately. "And, Charles?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm so glad it was you all along."

Feel like we haven't properly examined the comedy of Briatore being back at Alpine btw. When they first announced it they tried really hard to play it down and make it seem like he wouldn't be involved with trackside activities and I took them at their word because obviously it would be terrible PR to have Mr Race Fixer at races but they actually went all in on him and bro is EVERYWHERE. Like he's always on their Instagram in pictures standing with the TP, he's always in the garage during a race and he's always making speeches at Enstone to the team? It's so incredibly bizzare 😭

 I can’t even put into words how much joy and energy Aleks brings into my life. Watching him get torn apart in Wengen from the TV, then airlifted, rushing with my family to meet Henrik Legernes (such a hero during this time) at the hospital while Aleks went straight into surgery…and then finally seeing him as he was waking up hours later, confused and just repeating “I f*ed myself up so bad”…I don’t even know how to explain this, but it made me want to burn down the universe. But through every step of this process, he has been so beautiful and kind and thankful. He has not lost his patience once, even though he has had plenty of reasons to. He is inspiring and thoughtful and caring and he brings out the best in everyone around him, even in his most difficult moments. I went into the race last night with the thought, “if you’re gonna be here now, instead of with him, then you better make it worth it.” - Mikaela Shiffrin (x)

@lesharl-eclair here is the vettonso timeline I mentioned at some point!! I was gonna make a more refined version but ah, the original is fine so I'm posting it for you <3

Its written so its as if their careers began at the same time. There's obviously some parts where they deviate from each other(I blame Fernando), but they're pretty similar, no??

Here's some notes I have:

They both started at technically the same team(if you ignore that Seb raced one race for Sauber): Minardi/STR. And they spent 3 seasons either racing for that team or testing(Fernando for Renault, Seb for BMW teams), before being promoted to the team where they won their respective WDCS.

They both spent six seasons with their WDC team. And both won their WDCs using Renault engines. Both were pretty much the golden boys of their teams, beloved by their team principal and team in general. Unfortunately both aren't consecutive because Fernando tried out McLaren lol.

They spent a similar amount of years at Ferrari(five and six respectively.) Neither could win a WDC with Ferrai(😔) And both joined Ferrari in a very similar way. When Fernando joined, he ousted Kimi and it was very uncertain where Kimi was going. I think the commentators in 2009 predicted McLaren? (But he ended up taking a sabbatical obv.) But pretty messy, right? The literal same exact thing happened with Fernando and Seb in 2014-2015. They finally announced at the end of the season, even though it was pretty obvious, that Seb would be replacing Fernando. And where did Fernando go? McLaren! The history book on the shelf is always repeating itself. I guess I find it funny that Fernando replaced his former rival under somewhat messy circumstances, only for his other rival to do the exact same thing to him years later.

Okay McHonda and Alpine blah blah blah. Anyways they're probably going to have both end up competing their careers after two years with Aston Martin. This honestly is my favorite parallel. Because it's very sweet to me that Seb replaced Fernando, in an aforementioned messy way, only for Fernando to take Seb's seat in a very peaceful, almost "passing the torch" type exchange 🥰
