Just had another idea. This is omegaverse, so if you don't like it, you can just scroll. It's nothing explicit, just a couple ideas.

Okay, so omega Dazai, but he has a habit of hiding his nests. He doesn't like to have them out in the open. He feels exposed, vulnerable, especially something that displays so clearly that he's an omega, something that's viewed as weak and lesser. So he hides his nest. He builds them in closets, the corner of attics, basements, etc.

He doesn't want anyone to know he's an omega, yes, but he also doesn't want to fall victim to the stereotypical omega stuff. He doesn't want to cower before alphas who would use their power over him. He doesn't want to lose his mind, the thing that keeps him safe in life, during his heats. He doesn't want to be some breeding machine.

So he takes measures against it. He takes heat suppressants to the point of abusing them. He hides his nest. He trains himself to resist the scent of alphas. He hides his own scent with blockers. He does everything in his power to keep up the reputation he has as the Demon Prodigy.

But then it gets to a point where instinctively, he feels like a failure of an omega. He feels undesirable. He's achieved what he wanted, but who would ever want an omega like him? The suppressants made his heats completely unpredictable and almost nonexistent, even when he stops taking them. He's completely ruined his fertility with them. He's flighty, aggressive, defiant. Who would ever want that in an omega?

And he hates that he feels this way. He wants so badly to be proud of the decisions he's made. And in a way, he is. He isn't the weak little omega he feared of being. But there's also a part of him that mourns what he's lost, thinking for sure that he'll never have a mate, that he's completely lost his desirability as an omega.

And then Chuuya comes along and loves him anyway. He himself isn't the perfect alpha, according to stereotypes. He's shorter than most, more emotional, and doesn't revel in dominating others. But he loves Dazai, even if it takes a while for them to come around to it (because they're Soukoku, nothing comes easy for them). They love each other, even if they don't fit into the molds expected of them of strong, dominating alpha and weak, submissive omega. They work together, embracing their faults and learning to love themselves at the same time.

This got kinda long, but I hope it makes sense. Omega failure Dazai and supportive Alpha Chuuya.

Dazai

Quite tall for an omega so most don't think he is one, not that he goes flaunting it around in the first place. In fact he probably hides it but doesn't hide it at the same time. He's always bandaged up to the neck so he doesn't wear a collar just scent patches to cover his scent glands so it's not like anyone can tell just from that alone.

Doesn't care about secondary genders at all so his mate could be an omega as well and he wouldn't care.

His nests are so bare it's ridiculous. I'm talking just a pillow and a blanket bare. He could afford to get better nesting materials and make the most comfortable nest around but he doesn't. Maybe he likes to suffer or maybe he doesn't care too much to satisfy his omega instincts, maybe he doesn't like nesting, no one will ever know all they do know is that his nests are so empty it's kinda heartbreaking.

Will he invite his mate into his nest? Maybe, it depends on his mood. His mate will probably be the one doing all the nest making for him if they want to get more comfortable, he doesn't mind he just doesn't see the point. When his mate is finished making him a nest he feels warmth run through him that he's drawn to but also wants to flee from but he doesn't flee. Will tease them for building him a nest and joke that his nests aren't good enough for their lavish tastes. Afterwards he'll invite them just so they can build him a nest even when he doesn't need one, an excellent trick to get his mate to bring in items scented by them.

When he goes through his heats he might actually try a bit harder to make his nest though he'd rather die honestly. The stickiness of his body, the rolling waves of heat running through him, he's miserable. His mate does make things better with building him that nice nest and tending to him but he's still suffering so it doesn't do much. Prefers to just take suppressants so he doesn't have to go through heats in the first place.

Chuuya

Due to his personality people think he's an Alpha or a strong beta but once they see the collar they start to believe otherwise. He doesn't hide his status as an omega because he can just kick the teeth in of whoever has issue with him. Plenty of omegas admire him so he's pretty popular.

Doesn't care about his mates secondary gender much. He does sorta believe in alpha/omega pairs being the best match but once he realizes his feelings and the bond he has with them he throws that nonsense out the window and defends whatever he has with his life.

As soon as he's got the funds he's spending it all on the highest quality nesting materials money can buy. His nests are pretty fancy and are so soft and comfortable it's like laying in a cloud. He doesn't nest often but when he does he's bringing out the wine. What better way to relax in his newly made nest than with a cup of good wine, snacks, and his mate by his side?

Invites his mate into his nest at every opportunity even if he's a bit cranky. He doesn't mind building his nest together with them but he will instruct them strictly so his nest is the best there is. Won't rip their head off if they make a mistake but he's not gonna let them off either if they mess around.

During his heats he's snappier than usual but his mate won't take it to heart they know he's uncomfortable and in pain. He appreciates how diligently they tend to him and vows to make it up to them once everything is over with. I personally imagine him not using suppressants or them not working well on him at all so he just doesn't take them and goes through his cycles naturally.

Sure! I have many thoughts, so I'm glad to see that others were interested in my ramblings lol. Let's get into it!

Looking at Chuuya, he is clearly someone who could easily have power over others from how strong his ability is, but as we see with the Sheep, he doesn't enjoy it. He doesn't enjoy being in positions of power. What he does enjoy is looking out for others, people he considers his family. Orginally, he thought he had to lead them to that, but as we see at the end of the 15 arc, he learns that isn't the case. I imagine that Chuuya tried very hard to be the big, strong Alpha that one thinks of when hearing the word while he was in the Sheep, but it never felt quite right.

As I see it, I don't think Chuuya would enjoy being the stereotypical Alpha who flaunts their scent all over the place, taking up as much space as they can, being dominate in every sense of the word and reveling in the power they have over others. Chuuya's "Alpha-ness" would manifest as more of a protective feeling rather than a possessive one. He doesn't want to OWN someone, but PROVIDE for them. He wants to be the person they can come to for support. Like, he if he were to smell an Omega in heat, his thoughts wouldn't be that he needed to claim them, but get them to safety. Does that make sense? I hope it does.

At first, this instinct clashed with Dazai because Dazai takes it as Chuuya looking down on him for being an Omega, and rejects it. He doesn't need protection. He's perfectly capable of taking care of himself without some bleeding-heart of an Alpha sniffing around in his business. Because from Dazai's point of view, he needs to be in charge of absolutely everything, so he can't afford to be some weak Omega submitting to the will of whatever Alpha he comes across.

They clash and argue because from their respective views, the other is being unreasonable. Chuuya just wants to look out for Dazai, not out of pity, but to be partners that face the world together. Maybe he wants to prove he's capable of protecting people after how badly he failed with the Sheep (and later, the Flags) and sometimes, he pushes past the boundary to the point of being overbearing. Dazai, on the other hand, is fighting with the deep insecurity that he isn't something worthy of being protected, and once Chuuya finds out that he can't do the things other omegas do (he barely has heats anymore and getting pregnant is basically impossible at this point) that he'll leave. So he pushes Chuuya away before he has the chance to get close, snarling and biting with all his might to show him he's wasting his time.

They're both hurting and bad at communicating, but eventually, they learn to let their guard down and say what they're really feeling. Chuuya learns to be less overbearing when it comes to his need to protect, to give Dazai space when he needs it. Dazai learns to let his walls down and let Chuuya see him for who he really is; hurt, but still worthy of love and care. They both don't fit into the expecting that come with their secondary gender, but that's what makes them human.

Tldr; Chuuya isn't the dominating kind of alpha. He prefers to protect and provide for people. Dazai hates his omega qualities and tries to get rid of them, but slowly learns that it isn't something to be ashamed of and learns to let others in and lend a hand.

These always end up being longer than I wanted, lol. I hope this satisfies your desire for more. I love these two so much. They're my babies. I want them to be happy. My boys!!
