Feyre had never been so grateful to see Rhys awake. The last twenty-four hours had passed in an exhausting blur—Rhys getting dizzy at home, rushing him to the hospital, finding out an infection had spread, the horror of watching him get worse until he'd needed a ventilator, a sleepless night spent in a chair at his bedside praying the antibiotics worked, then utter knee-wobbling relief at the news that there had been no complications when the breathing tube was removed.

He was alert. Improving. Almost ready to be moved out of intensive care. Just…a bit delirious. An aftereffect of the sedation they'd said.

For what seemed like the millionth time already, even though it was barely past noon, Madja, the nurse who'd been taking care of him, entered the room and nodded a hello at Feyre.

"Just a couple of quick assessments and I'll be out of your hair. Is that alright, Rhysand?" Madja said. Rhys nodded slowly. "I'm going to read you a series of 10 letters. When you hear the letter ‘A,’ squeeze my hand."

Feyre watched Rhys's face carefully, looking for any sign that he understood the instructions. She hated seeing him so out of it.

Taking one of Rhys's hands in hers and holding out a card attached to her badge in the other, Madja started to read. "S A V E—"

Before she could keep going, Rhys said, "Feyre saved me." His voice was scratchy, his throat still irritated from the tube.

"That's very—"

"You are my salvation, Feyre."

Feyre couldn't decide whether she wanted to laugh or cry. Rhys had said that to her once, years ago, when they hadn't even been dating yet. But of course it would be one of the few things his brain would cling to.

Madja seemed unsure of what to do; Feyre just shook her head and said, "He's always like this. I'd keep going."

"Right," Madja said, then read the rest of the letters aloud. "A H A A R T."

"I heart Feyre," Rhys said. Feyre stifled a giggle.

It would be another day until Rhys's head cleared and at least another two until he was discharged home, but he certainly didn't stop making it obvious how much he loved his wife.

My hope for the trope obviously is for it to grow, as I was saying in the comments of the first ask. Canon Feysand dynamic has so much potential to twist around with the tropes the dark fic/daddy fic gals have been playing with. Still, some people get butthurt and that can't be avoided.

Why choose is just a term for polyships, normally three or four people. Since Remember Me? isn't going anywhere—forgive me @captain-of-the-gwynriel-ship, I tried—I'm bringing Feysand x Ruhn back to life with baby daddy Ruhn and daddy dom Rhys who just happen to know each other what are the odds? I know pregnancy fics can be a flop, but with the breeding kink fics going around lately...

💖 - What made you start writing? i've always loved reading and literature and prided myself on being very articulate with a wide vocabulary. i really liked being able to flex those proverbial muscles via writing and i experimented with original short stories in late primary/early high school, but i never got very far and it made me feel so silly - i've never really had a knack for oc's! but then when i was 15 i got into homestuck, and the chokehold karkat/terezi has had on me since is IMMENSE. i just had such a passion for them and was reading any fic that i could get my hands on that i just itched to write my own!! it was a good outlet for things i was going through at the time, too.

🥺 - Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels? every time rhys gets all gooey and soft over feyre it absolutely kills me dead in the best way. also, the absolute YEARNING on either side of feysand is just so beautiful and makes me feel like a wistful lovelorn person staring over a cliff dramatically wondering what could have been every time i write it!! its so fun!!!!

Forbidden love where?we have already a forbidden love and that is Helion and Lucien's mother—the circumstances don't allow them to be together and her husband can kill her if he found out about Lucien.

That's the forbidden love we need to root for because we know that Lucien's mother deseves better—SHE HAS HELION'S KID, SHE COULD HAVE..ended the pregnancy but she didn't because she wanted a piece of Helion.

If Elain wanted a piece of Az, she would have kept the necklace.

Does Lucien kidnapp Elain and threaten to kill her if she doesn't go with him?

Az was going to risk the alliance with Lucien, invoking a blood duel to be with Elain because he believes he deserves her and to fit in the "Three brothers and sisters category".

Well Az is- No. We are adults, Az is an adult, he's not some baby to fuss over-it makes me laugh that is believed he's a soft baby and with Elain it would be the purest and gentlest love we have ever seen🥺(I don't lie to you that was some comments in Tik Tok😑) but we know the quote- the quietest person are the most dangerous and not in the good way.

Lucien didn't do anything to protect Feyre from Tamlin-Yes he didn't do anything and I acknowledge he's not perfect and he was caught in the middle between Feyre and his friend that he has known for decades...doesn't Cassian show that level of loyalty to Rhys?doesn't he defend him with all his might?

Yes the circumstances are different, but Tam was still Lucien's friends and at the end of the day he chose to save Feyre, without powers..so yeah..

Az has very serious issue and the last thing I want for El is to be his savior.

I believe he sees El as something pure to protect like you have pointed out in your analysis and that'a major flag—Az has self-esteem issues and doesn't see himself as worthy.

Do we want El to be his saviour?to show him that life is worth to fight for( what kind of message would send?to be the punching bag and the personal therapist of an assasin? Ew.No.)

No because El doesn't fit in the NC( and the author has stated over and over again that El prefers gardening and dancing instead of battles and violence; she returned Az's knife to him, a part of him)

In 2018 the author has made an interview and talked about Nessian's date's type and the last book of Acotar came out in..2021.

The author hinted Lucien's new companion in 2015.

I don't think she has changed her mind and with the bonus chapter she has shown how problematic Az can be; and if she wanted to hint a possible triangle, Az could have talked about about El's personality NOT her body, how soft and delicate she was.

He could have thought about unfair the mating bond was to give the woman he loves to Lucien; he did not, he didn't think beyond his sexual fantasies

He's not jelaous of Lucien because he has the woman he loves, he's jelaous of the mating bond and that is connected with his self-esteem issues; and if she ever wanted El/riel as endgame, why his chest sparkled when he thought about Gwyneth who doesn't seem bothered by violence and blood and doesn't reject who Az is, calling him shadowsinger.

Rhys was Feyre's savior and Cassian is Nesta's strength.

El doesn't need a savior or need to be strong(she doesn't already fit in NC☹-I'm gonna repeat it until the day I die) she needs SUNSHINE(LUCIENNNNN)

Also Lucien is the author's favorite character so she wants him to suffer MORE THAN BEFORE? What?

So all this build up from 2015 for nothing? A decade for nothing?

Sorry to rant, just angry that they reduce El to the soft and gentle love interest and for that she's matching with a cruel and cold spy😒

I've always got an ear to lend for any rants necessary! And you're right, Az and Elain really don't have anything in common and I think it goes over E/riels heads that the moments they seem to have something in common (like Feyre noting that they are the most polite of the characters) ignores what SJM has told us about Az. He did not have a normal upbringing, he learned to don the "frozen mask" in his fathers dungeon, pushing down his emotions. To me, Az acts the way he does because he learned later in life that in order to fit into society, you have to behave in certain ways. A lot of how Az acts in front of the others is because he's wearing the mask that he knows others would expect of him. Occasionally his true self slips through and it scares the characters. He's been able to hide that side of him from Elain but I think she'd be in for a big surprise if Az showed her his true self. And forbidden love? Does Elain know it's forbidden? And if she found out, do readers honestly think she wouldn't march up to Rhys and give him the exact same speech she gave to Nesta? Part of me thinks she heard exactly what went down between Az and Rhys in the POV (remember, she could hear the sea from the townhouse AND Lucien's heart beating through stone walls at opposite ends of the HOW) so chances are, she may have heard exactly what Az told to Rhys and Rhys told to Az and she chose to give back the necklace as a result. I highly doubt Elain would be a fan of hearing Az wanting to be with her because she's the third sister (saying nothing of actually liking her as a person) refusing to answer whether he's over Mor, and that he thinks so little of killing Lucien. Az is acting like a giant whiny baby right now and I honesty believe he needs to be put on a time out. He doesn't deserve to be rewarded with a mate at this stage (or at least not be aware that he has one just yet) and get a HEA before Lucien. And I want more for Elain than using her as a plot device for Az's self worth, forcing her to be the one to fit in to his world of cruelty, making it so she's there to calm the baby's feelings over his temper tantrums over Lucien and not getting a bond and feeling like he can tell others what Elain should or shouldn't be doing. Elain deserves to walk away from yet another person who thinks she's too pure and innocent and can't handle anything dangerous.

Favorite rare pairs: I LOVE Azris always!! I have thought long and hard about this question and decided I am very boring! Let’s see…I love Nessian but I do enjoy a good Neris fic, and I love Emerie and I’m always trying to decide if I like her with Mor or someone else (Emlain?? What would be their ship? I need her to have someone who treats her right) Some version of Nessriel feels basically canon to me. I fear that Koschlain is too insane for a Feysand story but know I am a little bit on that bandwagon 😅 And I am very much a past Tamsand truther…basically I believe all the High Lords have hooked up, especially when they were younger.

For Rhys’s mom: I think this is fun but I don’t have any strong opinions! I gave her the name Samara in one fic which has a variety of meanings in Hebrew/greek. I do sometimes look at Welsh names to match Rhysand. Go with your favorites though!!

@thegloweringcastle is another extremely talented writer who has a wealth of feysand and elucien fics! One I really love is the The Law of the Land which is a Feysand western AU with background Elucien 🤠

@darling-archeron has been in this fandom since 2016 and in that time has blessed us with so much wonderful Feysand and Elucien content!! (One day you really need to sit us all down and tell us the fandom lore we all missed out on from the acomaf/acowar releases 👀)

@iambutmortal has a lot of delicious Feysand and Elucien stories! For Elucienweek last year she wrote a really addicting story called The Honeymooners

@labellefleur-sauvage has written so many incredible Elucien fics! As well as a very delicious monster!Feyre fic called Meet Me In the Woods hehehe 👀

@foundress0fnothing always blows me away with her writing. For Elucienweek last year she wrote an Elucien sex cult fic titled Both Forever and Rather Die that lives in my head rent free.

@howlingcaptaincommando is working on a really amazing pirate AU, Never Shall I Die, centering around Elucien, Nessian, and Feysand!

@vulpes-fennec has so many lovely stories, including her Prythian Fantasia WIP which centers on the Archeron sisters and their mates 😍

@popjunkie42 has yet to dip her toes into writing Elucien but maybe one day we can convince her 👀👀 That said she has so many amazing Feysand works such as Hate Me Instead and her current WIP Blossoming In Winter.

Bryce/Danika

• Danika being a classic corrupt cop confiscating drugs from civilians and then using them for herself lmao

• As weird as their friendship became in HOSAB I love their friendship in HOEAB. I kind of live vicariously through them, so it's fun to read this chapter but also makes me feel sad/fomo

• I actually think their friendship might be my favorite thing about the series. It makes me ache the same way feysand does and I wish we'd gotten more of it on the page, but also HOEAB's Part I is incredible for just how short-lived it is. All my love to Hunt but Bryce/Danika is the ship that propels this story

Ember/Randall

• After finishing the book this is the scene I'm most curious about

• Nesta 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

• I saw a post the other day about Nesta being better high queen material than Rhys is high king and after finishing the book and reading this... i'm seeing the vision... ("I am not your subject", Rhys looking at Nesta like she's a "worthy opponent") I just don't know if Nesta would ever want that for herself. Also Nesta being a bigger figure in HOFAS than Azriel, the anticipated lead of the next ACOTAR book??? Didn't see that coming, but so happy that it indicates Nesta's story isn't over yet

• I am so, so happy for Nesta that she got to meet Ember and Randall. I wish this chapter was longer but filling in the blanks I think it must have been so healing for her to meet someone like Ember — a mother who loves her daughter so fiercely. • god I wish their love story had been more fleshed out in HOFAS, this would actually feel like pay off. But omg our first SJM wedding scene! Very sweet chapter

• Nesta is so funny

• Oooh okay and some context for the way Nesta reacts to Ember later on. She already had some sense of who Ember is and just how important Ember is to Bryce

Oooh for this one I’m not sure! I think having a story driven plot can be very engaging and is something that can suck me in so fast, but given my previous answers romance driven might make more sense? Maybe a mix of the two? I think the best examples of what I mean by mix that I can think right now are 1) A Memory Undone by writtenonreciepts or 2) Lying In Between The Memories by Separatist_Apologist if you’ve read those! The story and plot of the first is still their romance and how Feyre comes to remember/deal with the fallout of not remembering. Whereas while there is a background plot brewing and driving the initial story in LIBTM/explaining why Gwyn and Az are where they are, the main plot so far is still their romance? While also being about the individual character journeys as they each grow into themselves. But it’s all connected into one overarching story! Hopefully that helped instead of making it more complicated 😅

...I feel like I would cry tears of happiness if it was multi chapter ngl but whatever works for the story best I will love!!!

Hardback 100%!!! I tend to bend the covers back around if I’m not careful and I just love the feel of the hard case. It feels more real and solid to me. If I do get a paperback I’m usually holding out to get a hardcover later and give the paperback away as a gift. Or I get the paperback to use as an annotated version - I can’t bring myself to write in hardback books but I can in paperback. Or it was 50 cents to get the pb version and I said yeah I’ll take a 50c copy over a $27 copy. But for the most part my bookshelves are 90% hardback.

Depends on the vibe! If I need energy/to wake up/to do some sort of non-writing/non-creative work, then coffee! Usually iced if I buy it from Starbucks, but hot when I brew it at home. But for any other time or vibe, or when I’m writing/doing something creative, I go for tea! I was raised on black tea (specifically English Breakfast) so it’s the only type I really drink, and always with cream/milk and sugar. (If I’m feeling homesick and have the energy sometimes I’ll make masala chai the way one of my best friends makes it, where I boil a pot of milk on the stove with the teabags and add a ton of cardamom and sugar)

When did you start loving feysand in acotar? What is your favorite moment of them? 💜

Omg I love this question thank you. I read acotar in 2015, so before acomaf, and I loved feysand from rhys’s very first line “there you are I’ve been looking for you.” I found Tamlin boring and annoying, but even beyond that the whole calanmai scene between feyre and Rhys was just… love at first sight for me with them. To me, their chemistry was so palpable. And Rhys was just so hot lol. And utm I loved them even more because he was the only one fighting for her. Rhys was the one risking everything for feyre, which I found so beautiful and moving. And when he stumbled away from her at the end, I was fully on board with the theory they were mates. I still get emo thinking back to those times when it was still a theory like omg 🥺 biggest win of my life.

My favorite moment is chapter 54/55, nothing in literature has been done like it. And I think it’s so special because, while the small feysand fandom at the time had theorized they were mates, I don’t think anyone guessed the full extent to which it would come into play. Like, the fact rhys had dreamed of feyre for so long. The fact he loved her the whole time. The fact everything he did was to protect her. The fact his first words to her were literal, and he went only to see her. The fact he always wanted her but was going to stay away if it meant she was happy. All of the reveals were just sooo insane. And the way all of acomaf had slowly built up to that moment was so special, such a masterpiece to me. I think it’s representative of feysand’s relationship/feysandism/soulmatism, and why they have endured and been recognized as the iconic couple that they are for so many years now.

Anyway, hi friend! I finished reading "For the love of the game" and it is amazing! I hadn't read it before because I thought I couldn't fully understand the characters without reading about them first, but oh boy if I was wrong! I loved the characters psycology so much, how they felt in love slowly and then the next thing they knew was "must protecc this baby". I felt so desperate when Rowan saw Aelin at "their table" without him by her side and decided to move out aaaa but it ended so well, everyone got what they deserved, for good or bad💐 I can totally see why you are so proud of this fic! And I don't know Lorcan but he sounds nice, just packed with problems... Any one-shot planned about his sabbatical year?🤔

I second Feyre’s journey in proving herself a worthy Queen of the North! That could be very fun, especially if there’s IC-bonding and Keir-bullying. 😆

You guys would laugh if I showed you my original outline for As the River Flows. I never intended to draw the journey itself out so much, but all that forced proximity ended up being way too good to pass up.

I always intended for the later chapters to actually take place in the Northern Kingdom, which I just ended up repurposing for A Blaze in the Dark since it no longer fit with Feysand's relationship dynamic by that point in their story

That said, all this love I've been receiving for AtRF has made me seriously tempted to revisit their story 🥺 I think at the very least I'd like to give them an epilogue set in the Northern Kingdom
