A bit about the fluffiest monsters in New Chicago, The Nekomatas.

They control most of the Monster owned Restaurants in New Chicago that cater to the 'special' diets some monsters have (Human flesh.) as well as dominating and overseeing the docks of the New Chicago Harbor-granting them constant surveillance at what comes in and out of the city or more importantly-WHO'S coming in and out or doing WHAT exactly. Much to the annoyance of any other crime family in the city-it's like people opening your mail before you even get it. Except it's a bunch of cats always up in your shit.

KAITLYN: It's the kind of perspective like, on a character, that you can really only get from being an obsessed academic and I really appreciate that. LAETY: Yes, I love that. KRISTEN: Yeah, yeah, absolutely! LAETY: No matter that I didn't particularly like my book, this was the nerdy episode and I love it. KAITLYN: Yeah KRISTEN: Oh yeah, it was definitely like taking these little niche things that me and Laety love and putting them in a book.

This is Aliss, Amare’s friend and former roommate. Amare hasn’t talked to her in a while, but the two of them used to be very close. Aliss actually trained alongside Amare, before the latter made her contract and became a Magical Girl. She’ll show up soon in Parallel Worlds Record, when the plot picks up where it left Yachiyo and Amare.

It's funny how two very different retellings of the Alice stories (2000's Aliss and 1992's Adventures in Wonderland) fuse together The White Queen from Through the Looking-Glass and The Duchess from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, presumably to compliment the fusion of the Red Queen and the Queen of Hearts.

A bit on Aliss and Mitten's relationship.

Aliss is a Drag King and Mittens works as a doorman at the club she works at. He is.....VERY much in love with her. He switches off his 'grumpy doorman' Persona SO fast when Aliss says she's done with work. He's also super crazy about Aliss no matter how she presents that day. Get you a Man like MITTENS.

Aliss sings, dances, does comedy skits at the club where she's employed-patroned mostly by monsters and the few select humans who do manage to wander in. She's fairly popular-enough to have her own personal dressing room with her name on it.

KRISTEN: There's little scenes where you get like weird intimate moments, there's a part really early where Hamlet lights a cigarette and Laertes lights his own off the end of it.
