Alicia is a painter from Sweden. Her work is full of colours and feelings which will mesmerize you.

Tell us about one of your top favourites pieces of work. Why that one?

To choose my favourite piece of work is such a hard thing to do, all my paintings means a lot to me, but if I have to pic one its a oil-painting on a big piece of wood called “Dö-tid”. Its a self-portrait with colours and a body-posture that expresses my feelings most of the time. Its a painting about waiting and killing time, slowly dying while waiting. Dötid means when you have some time over and have to wait in Swedish. Dö=die tid=time. Sometimes I just want the time to die.

Where is your favourite place to be when you are creating new work?  For me its important to not get distracted, I need a place were I can feel comfortable so I can do my mistakes without anyone looking. I hate to paint and sketch in public because people are always so curious and I don’t like it… however I’m still looking for that quiet, big light studio in my dreams…until then I just work in my bedroom.

Who or what is your main source of inspiration? Women! People I meet when I travel. Characters in movies, documentaries, books and history. Sometimes my dreams and nightmares are a great source of inspiration…but also my personal real daily life.

Can you recommend our readers a must see movie? Everyone should see Alejandro Jodorowsky's "Santa sangre” and “Daises”.

If you have the opportunity to come across yourself as a child what advice would you give? I would advice myself to take no shit, from other shitty kids and shitty grownups.
