I am so sorry if I am late to see this, I have been so busy with work.

Me and @gremlins-hotel have tinkered a lot with both of the boys and the plot of the AU since wilds has come out.

We were a little stunned our plot for one of the main chapters for the AU was very...VERY close to the plot of Wilds and so we changing a few things as of right now before we officially post anything just yet.

But to awnser your question.

Yes!

Alfred is a full wyverian and Ivan is a half wyverian.

We are kinda touching up on the topic that wyverians can look a little different based on what monsters their bloodline originated from so they may have small details based on said monster. It's not official in monster but just to add a lil spice to the story.

I will spill this because it is no longer offical due to what we've recently discussed about Alfred, but originally he was gonna be a race known as the Seafolk. (The ones introduced in Monster Hunter 2/Dos)

And we were gonna mess around with Ceadeus being in the plot but due to recent stuff the plot has had a major rework. We are still finalizing some things but we don't know if we will still include Ceadeus just yet.

Most likely not...but we will be including the forbidden lands >:)c

Another tid bit because i feel bad for being so late.

I'd you ever looked at the Monster Hunter posts espically when Grem posts, the AU is known as Monster Hunter Cross. This is because besides it being a cross over, Alfred and Ivan view on monsters are totally different.

Ivan is a Hunter from the New World and Alfred is a Rider from small remote tribe on a island on the coast of the Primal Forest.

So these two have to understand each other and learn how to coexist to work together while being forced as a small field team by the guild.

I'm glad you like it! Yeah, with the current national shit show going on, I doubt that Alfred is doing very well. Every day just brings more embarrassment and headaches. However I still think he's optimistic and hopeful about the future because he's dealt with political turmoil before, and he doesn't want to give up on his people.

Does Ivan end up seeing Alfred in his Tobi-Kadachi mask? What does he initially think?

The mask in question [xxx]—Monster Hunter Cross is an AU by myself & @artistically-hershie!

Ivan will absolutely see Alfred in his Kinship mask, and it is in fact the very first impression he receives of him. To his hunter mind, this is something feral and alien, and he’s both curious but also highly unsure. Ivan, born and raised in the New World, has never heard of nor met a Rider, and didn’t know such a thing existed until coming to the Old World and meeting Alfred. Mostly by accident, too. Call it fate, if you will.

Initially, the mask very much creeps Ivan out, just like the rest of Alfred and his bond with his Tobi-Kadachi, Alti. It makes a lot of noise when Alfred wills it—which is often, since he’s not one to sit still. And he hates how large and prevalent the brightly-colored eyes are. Ivan also doesn’t understand the Kinship Stone embedded in the mask, adding to his general distaste of both the object and its wearer. Everything about the Rider he feels predisposed to find challenging and perhaps just a little wrong at first. He is initially uncomfortable with the idea that an intelligent human—or Wyverian, in Alfred’s case—would willingly choose to raise and live alongside a monster and call it family.

Let’s just say it’ll take him some time to appreciate the mask, what it means, and the eventual friend it will come to be associated with. They have long journeys ahead of them!
