Oh dude you have no idea. I come up with new scenes while daydreaming to songs.

I've been listening to a lot of Epic: The Musical by Jorge Rivera-Herrans recently. 'Just a Man' fits Optimus pretty well, considering all the compromises and difficult decisions he has to make during the war.

'Monster' really suits where I'm going with Alexis as she gets older, as does 'Different Beast' and 'Scylla'. A song that works if she's ever tricking someone, pretending to be all helpless and innocent, is the 'Title Theme of Majora's Mask, Zelda' that song gets real sinister towards the end, like Alexis' mask slipping is away the second her enemy turns their back.

'Valley Of Wolves - Take It All' suits Sari as does 'Undertale - Hopes and Dreams'. Any loud final battle theme works for her honestly XD. Sixx: A.M. - 'This is Gonna Hurt' is another one for Sari.

If you want a song for the series as a whole, then 'Louder than Words' by Less Friction is what I would put down.

And if I'm ever daydreaming about Starscream hunting someone down, especially after they have hurt Alexis, I listen to 'The Prowler's theme' from 'Into the Spiderverse.'

If you liked the focus on the goddesses but you want a nonfiction exploring their stories in-depth, try:

From Athena to Aphrodite to Demeter and Persephone, Natalie Haynes examines their myths, the impact they have had on our world, and ties it to pop culture. Providing her own personal opinions about different goddesses and their situations, she makes an argument for her interpretations but doesn’t demand the reader agree with her.

If you didn’t know a lot about Greek mythology before reading Lore Olympus but are now looking to learn as many stories as possible or want a collection of myths, try:

Mythos by Stephen Fry, an adult collection

The version I recommend is the illustrated version as the art has a very distinct style that utilizes a minimalist color palette. With his trademark humor and footnotes, Stephen Fry gives a very extensive introduction to the world of Greek mythology that feels grown-up

Mid-Year Book Freak Out

1. Number of books you’ve read so far: 17. Last year by this time I had read about 60 books. This is fine.

2. Best book you’ve read so far in 2024: I haven’t read many good books, which probably doesn’t encourage to read more. Though I really enjoyed Something More by Jackie Khalilieh. I finished it in 3 days, which hadn’t happened in a loooong time!

3. Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2024: I have only read 3 sequels so far this year. The only one I really enjoyed was Boyfriends Volume 2 by refrainbow.

4. New release you haven’t read yet but want to: Running Close to the Wind by Alexandra Rowland. I just got it last week so hopefully I can start it soon!

5. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year: Confounding Oaths by Alexis Hall. I really liked Mortal Follies, especially the narrator, so I can’t wait to get the sequel!

6. Biggest surprise favorite new author (debut or new to you): Jackie Khalilieh. Something More was a really good surprise, that I picked up and started a little impulsively. Now I want more from this author!

7. Newest fictional crush: No fictional crush. Not even a ship I got particularly attached to. Though I liked The Witchwood Knot and always find Olivia Atwater’s character very charming.

8. Book that made you cry: I don’t think any book made me cry? The one that got me the most emotional was probably Juliet Takes a Breath by Gabby Rivera.

9. Book that made you happy: If You Still Recognise Me by Cynthia So was really nice, plus it was about Tumblr and fandom!

10. What books do you need to read by the end of the year: SO MANY BOOKS! I really want to read some queer pirates books: Running Close to the Wind, Saltblood, Deep as the Sky, Red as the Sea, Sailing by Orion’s Star. I also NEED to finish the Rook & Rose trilogy with Labyrinth’s Heart! Will the love triangle end up in a polycule? I very much hope so!
