Hello, I love your books. I was wondering if you know the Alexander books by Elfriede Fuchs, probably not because the books are only available in German. But I think you would love the portrayal of Hephaestion; it is very similar to your portrayal of him, although yours is more complex in terms of morality and not just heroic like in Elfriede Fuchs.

I have not even heard of these. Thanks for noting them. I should add them to my list of ATG novels. I do try to keep up with it, at least somewhat. Ha. But there seems to be so many self-published books on ATG these days, it's hard.

(And, alas, a lot of those self-published ones are really rather terrible. A while back, I saw one that even mispelled Hephaistion's name in the title! I mean...seriously?)

I don't read German (well), so tend to limit it to what I have to read for academics. I wish I read German better.

"Fuchs und Hase retten den Wald" aus dem Jahr 2024 ist ein niederländisch-belgisch-luxemburgischer Animationsfilm für Kinder. Inszeniert hat den Film, der im Februar 2024 auf der Berlinale seine Weltpremiere in der Sektion Berlinale Generation feierte, Mascha Halberstad.

In dem abenteuerlichen Animationsfilm begleiten wir Fuchs, Hase und Euli, die beste Freunde sind und mit Robbe, Nixe, Pinguin und dem Wildschwein Haui eine fröhliche Party mit selbstgebackenem Kuchen und einer langen Wasserrutsche feiern. Doch während der Nacht entdeckt Euli bei ihrer Wache ein seltsames Plätschern und Rinnsale, die die Waldlichtung überfluten. Sie folgt dem Geräusch zu einem riesigen Staudamm, der von einem einsamen, baufreudigen Biber errichtet wurde, der unbedingt Anerkennung für seine beeindruckenden Bauwerke möchte. Als Fuchs und Hase merken, dass Euli verschwunden ist und ihr Zuhause in Gefahr schwebt, setzen sie zusammen mit ihren Freunden eine aufregende Rettungsaktion in Gang. Dabei erleben sie ein spannendes Abenteuer, überlisten die fiesen Pi-Ratten und entdecken, was selbstgebackenen Kuchen so besonders macht.
