Don’t Ever Say I didn’t Love You. Of Course I do.
Alessia Russo x Reader.
Warnings: Honestly idk what this is, more of a blurb or whatever you call them, emptying out my drafts bbs get ready 🙏🏼, arguments, swearing, poorly written ending, probably poor grammar.
Summary: Less doesn’t think you love her anymore.
*********
You and Alessia were in another one of your arguments.
It was the 4th one this week, you didn't know why at this point, you just knew your girlfriend was mad at you for something you hadn't even done. You think it has something to do with her makeup and you using the last bit of it or something like that.
"Alessia what has gotten into you?" You asked, your face crumbling slightly as tears well in your eyes. You didn't want to fight with your girlfriend, you loved her dearly and held her close to your heart. So why was it so difficult to get along with her without her blowing up recently?
You knew she had been stressed because of her recent move to Arsenal, but she had never taken her anger about football out on you before, just as you had never taken yours about football out on her.
"You don't love me anymore!" She shouts and for a moment, everything goes still. The clock stops ticking, the only sound in the room heard was your individual breaths. Heavy and laboured, as if you'd just ran 10 miles non stop each. Although, that's what fighting with each other usually felt like anyway.
"What? Less what are you on about?"
"You.. You don't love me anymore." Her voice is quiet, fearful.
"You're fucking delusional if you think that then." You scoff, and she rolls her eyes.
"Why do I even try, Y/N?"
"What makes you think I don't love you, Less?"
"You aren't spending time with me as much anymore!" She complains, and her face holds resemblance to that of a pouting toddler, you think.
"Lessi are you forgetting I have a full time very high stress job? The same job as you, might I add?” You glare at her, honestly offended she'd ever think you didn't love her anymore.
"No, no of course not, I just-" You cut her off with a scoff and disbelieving chuckle.
"Just what? Woke up last week and decided to make me feel like shit over every little fucking thing?!" You snap. You had reached your boiling point. Why was she not seeing that you loved her? Why couldn't she just see that if she had spoke about it with you it wouldn't be this way?
"I love you, Alessia. So don't you ever say I didn't love you, I still do. I always will, for fucks sakes!" You yell, completely flying off the rails.
She just looks at you, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Whatever. I'm gonna stay at Macca's." The blonde says, storming out of your shared apartment and heading to the Irish girl's.
You think about chasing after her but hear her Mercedes pulling out of the driveway as you glare warily at your trainers. It would've been useless chasing her now.
You sigh and begin to tidy everything up, going getting into the spare bed, which you seemed to be spending a lot of time in lately, so that way if Alessia actually came back this time she'd be able to have space in a bed by herself.
****
Later that night, you briefly register a dip in the bed and your girlfriends warm body pressing against your own, muttering soft apologies into your hair which you just respond to with a grumble.
When you wake up that morning to the sight of the blonde's head on your chest and her smaller frame wrapped up in your arms, you feel a small flicker of hope that everything will be alright.
Because as long as you had your girl you felt like you could do anything.
**********

anyways just giving my two cents on how to call the "salute" musk did at the inauguration: you call it a "roman salute" if your name is something like marcus tullius cicero! in any other scenario that is a FASCIST SALUTE! and of course that makes him (and anyone else doing it) a disgusting ass fascist. ok thanks 🥰
#cause i be seeing americans arguing on how to call that dosgusting gesture#it is a fascist salute! k bye#alessia talks

Could you go an request for Leah Williamson x Reader.
Leah has a crush on reader, no one knows except for Alessia who caught her watching edits of reader. The team are in the gym, doing pulls up, weights all that stuff. And Leah can’t keep her eyes off you. Getting turned on by the movements and flex muscles. Alessia seeing this teases her through-out the whole time.
-
The gym reeks of dedication, effort, and that specific brand of post-workout musk that no amount of designer deodorant can hide. It’s all heavy bass music, the metallic clang of weights, and the occasional grunt from someone pretending this is their 15th rep, not their fourth. You’re mid-pull-up, arms flexing in a way that looks almost unfair to the human eye. Leah, meanwhile, is failing miserably at playing it cool.
She’s not even trying, really. She’s perched on a bench with a dumbbell that’s more decorative than functional, staring at you like you’re the last goal in stoppage time. Her gaze keeps flicking from your biceps to your shoulders, her jaw tightening whenever you move.
“Subtle,” Alessia whispers from the treadmill beside her, not even pretending to hide her smirk. She’s seen this before—caught Leah at 11 p.m., huddled over her phone, watching a fan-made TikTok edit of you scoring last season. Leah had looked up, panicked, and slammed her phone down like a teenager caught watching something decidedly not safe for work. Alessia hasn’t let it go since.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Leah hisses, trying and failing to keep her eyes on her dumbbell. She gives it a half-hearted curl, immediately setting it down because apparently, five kilos is suddenly too heavy.
“Right,” Alessia drawls, upping the treadmill incline just to feel something. “You’re just admiring the… technique?”
“Exactly”
Your laugh cuts through the gym noise, and Leah flinches, like she’s been caught red-handed. You’re joking with Katie McCabe, something about the pull-up bar being too high for her. Leah swears she’s never been jealous of metal equipment before, but here she is, wishing she were that bar.
“Look at her,” Alessia says, low enough for only Leah to hear. “Flexing, laughing, being all… sweaty”
Leah glares. “Stop”
“Stop what? Observing?” Alessia bats her lashes. “Honestly, it’s inspiring. You should go tell her she’s doing great. Maybe offer to spot her?”
Leah shakes her head, panic flashing across her face. “I’m not that obvious”
Alessia’s grin widens. “Mate, you’re a blinking neon sign. I half expect you to start holding up a banner that says, Please notice me, Reader”
Leah clenches her jaw, staring fixedly at the ground like it’s personally offended her. You’ve moved on to the bench press now, lying back, the muscles in your arms and chest taut as you push the barbell up. Leah makes the mistake of glancing up.
“Christ,” she mutters under her breath, her ears turning red.
“Christ can’t help you,” Alessia quips, leaning forward on the treadmill handles. “You’re done for”
You finish your set, sitting up and wiping the sweat off your brow with your shirt, inadvertently flashing just the tiniest sliver of toned stomach. Leah, already fighting a losing battle, looks like she might combust.
“Alright, that’s it,” Alessia announces, stepping off the treadmill and grabbing a water bottle. “I can’t watch you suffer like this anymore. Either talk to her, or I’m telling the entire team you’ve got a crush the size of Wembley on her.”
Leah’s eyes widen, and she grabs Alessia’s arm in a death grip. “You wouldn’t”
Alessia just raises an eyebrow. “Try me”
Before Leah can argue, you saunter over, a casual smile on your lips and a towel slung around your neck.
“Hey,” you say, glancing between the two of them. “What’s all this about?”
Leah’s brain short-circuits. Alessia, unbothered and enjoying herself far too much, grins. “Leah was just saying how impressed she is with your form. Weren’t you, Leah?”
Leah stammers something incoherent, her face flaming, and you tilt your head, amused.
“Well,” you say, smirking just enough to make Leah’s pulse spike, “I’m more than happy to book you in for a one-on-one to show you the ropes, if you’d like?”
You walk away before Leah can respond, leaving Alessia in stitches and Leah questioning every decision that led her to this moment.

Alessia Russo, “i missed hearing your voice..”, late night phone call
kiss me through the phone II a.russo
you sighed tiredly in utter defeat as you tapped your phone for easily the tenth time in the half hour you'd be laying here staring at the back of your eyelids, leaning over and flicking your bedside lamp on.
there was no point in laying in complete darkness by yourself when you weren't sleeping anytime soon.
your girlfriend was away on camp and though normally you struggled a little to sleep without her since the two of you had moved in together and it became a comfort you took for granted, this week had been especially hard.
you'd recently gotten a promotion at work and though the salary bump and your own office and parking spot was much appreciated, the extra responsibilities of running your own team which included unpaid overtime to pick up the slack wasn't.
you loved what you were doing though and as much as alessia was concerned you were burning yourself out even she knew her pleas for you to do anything else were fruitless.
but it all meant come friday night and you were always utterly shattered, wishing for nothing more than to just curl up in your girlfriends arms with a glass of wine and some takeaway.
but it was friday night and you'd eaten cold leftovers alone, drank an entire bottle of white, started 3 movies grown bored and flicked to another, and now you lay here awake, only ten at night but exhausted, however almost too tired to sleep.
you doom scrolled your social media's for a while, smiling seeing alessia's face pop up on a lionesses post from today, sharing it to your story like the proud girlfriend you were.
all of your social media's were private bar your friends and family, the world knew you were with alessia but the two of you kept your relationship as much to yourselves as you could, and you loved that some aspects of it were only just for the two of you.
like right now where normally you'd be laid down together with limbs entangled, her head on your chest and your fingers raking through her freshly washed hair, likely watching a movie she'd picked though you knew she'd be asleep not even a half an hour in.
however it would appear that small share to your story had alerted someone to you being awake as within not even thirty seconds of it posting an incoming facetime call from your girlfriend popped up.
"hi baby." you smiled happily, clicking accept as a beat passed and the call connected, alessia's face now smiling right back at you. "you're up! why didn't you call me?" the blonde frowned and you chuckled at the small pout on her lips.
"because you said you were going to watch a movie with some of the girls babe, and you know how territorial ella gets about your little camp movie nights." you laughed as her pout deepened. "okay. but the movie finished an hour ago and we're both awake now so why weren't we talking?" she argued with a huff, eyebrows knitted together which was more adorable than intimidating despite the fact she was easily two heads taller than you.
"well russo if you'd like an answer to that would you like to check our messages to see who the last one to reply was?" you teased with a chuckle, alessia's eyes widening as she clicked out of the facetime to do just that.
"hey it was you! don't make me worry like that." her face popped back up now with a scowl. "yes because again you know how ella gets about her movie nights, do you remember when she used to lock our phones in the spare room in manchester?" you laughed pulling a face as alessia sighed.
"god don't remind me, she's just as bad here she sat on grace last night because she kept asking questions when we were trying to watch something." alessia grimaced at the memory as you grinned.
"so how was your evening with the girls baby? tell me about it." you requested, adjusting your position and resting your phone against the pillow which was normally alessia's, laying down a little more to get comfortable.
"mm well we actually had a games night instead, tooney lost the vote for a movie and she was not happy! you remember the rec room from when you last visited SGP for family day right?" alessia checked as you hummed with a small nod.
"so they split us up into teams and of course i got stuck with little miss ella can't take a loss toone." alessia rolled her eyes making you laugh as alessia rattled off the rest of her team and all their little quirks such as leah can't take a joke williamson, and beth can't take anything seriously mead.
"first up was blackjack. won it of course!" alessia paused to brush some imaginary dirt off her shoulders cockily as you chuckled, eyes starting to feel just a little more heavy, comforted by the familiar sound of your girlfriends voice, almost able to imagine she was right beside you in bed.
"ugh then we played twister...that got messy!" alessia whistled with a wince, recalling how half the girls had wound up in a crumpled heap on the floor, poor hempo and jess park crushed beneath them.
"hey baby you look shattered." alessia stopped her story as she paused to look at you, eyes half closed as they suddenly snapped back awake.
"i missed hearing your voice. please keep talking?" you requested softly as alessia melted, echoing that she missed you too as you moved to prop your head up on your hand.
"then we played jenga and beth got us disqualified for cheating!" alessia scoffed with a roll of her eyes. "what did she do?" you questioned with a tired smile, eyes drooping for a moment before you exhaled and shook your head to wake up a little.
"kicked the table 'subtly' and knocked the whole tower over, millie tackled her to the ground and smacked her round cause she was about to win." alesia laughed softly in amusement, though mostly at the fact you were half asleep than the story she was telling.
"well then we played darts." alessia again winced, peaking your curiosity despite your fast fading state, humming encouragingly to show you were still listening.
"maya accidentally hit grace with a dart, she threw one back and hit ella, ella tried to go after grace and stepped on a dart dropped by beth and well...it sort of became a free for all acupuncture session until the staff stepped in and shut everything down." alessia recounted grimacing and rubbing her arm where even she'd copped a few rogue pricks.
"sounds more like a girls trip than a work camp." you teased sleepily, slurring your words slightly making your girlfriend smile adoringly.
"baby go to sleep. you're beautiful and i love you very much but you are exhausted!" alessia spoke softly as your head suddenly dropped, your hand giving out as you perked up again.
"no no i just dozed off less honest, please keep talking. what's on your training agenda for tomorrow?" you sighed, firmly in denial despite your eyes still slotting closed again.
you hummed as alessia began to recount her schedule for her tomorrow, watching on with a soft lovesick smile as your breathing evened out and you eventually stopped responding all together, finally asleep.
"my gorgeous stubborn girl." alessia mumbled to herself with a playful roll of her eyes reaching out to hang up, finger hesitating by the screen.
dropping her hand she smiled, flicking off the lamp and moving her phone to the other pillow, settling into bed and kissing her fingers, pressing them against the screen as her own eyes slotted closed, the two of you falling asleep together despite being miles apart.

Toddlers.
Alessia russo x Leah Williamson x reader
One might expect after coming back from a run to the bakery at 7 am to come back home and find silence still filling up the house or perhaps jazz music and the smell of coffee. What you didn't expect was bickering.
You opened the door quietly so as not to disturb the sleeping bodies in your bedroom only to hear them full on arguing up the stairs. You put down the baked goods in the kitchen and angrily stomped your way to the room where the loud noises were coming from. You found Alessia and leah both hovering over a disassembled crib arguing about who should do it and who should go to bed.
“ Lee, you have a concussion, you should rest.” said Alessia, still in her oversized sleeping t-shirt.
“ and you just played a game last night you are the one who should be resting. Besides, I know my body and what I can handle.” replied leah.
“ Leah seriously stop with this nonsense and go to bed.” Alessia tried to command her club captain.
“ What do we have here?” you jumped in before any one said something they would regret.
No matter how unusual this encounter might seem it happened quite often in your household. Lessi was sweet and gentle while Leah was stubborn and hard headed. Alessia would easily give up control and surrender either one of you’s touch or words while Leah needed more convincing in order to let go.
“ I couldn't get any sleep. I needed to move so I came here to assemble this crib. And little miss over here wouldn't let me.” explained leah.
“ you are concussed leah you need to rest; this crib can wait.” added alessia.
“ Alessia, give it up. I am fine. I don't need babysitting. If I do, I will make sure to call you.” said leah in an undermining tone.
“ I am 7 months pregnant. I got up and went out to get us something to celebrate qualifying for the champion's league and I am greeted with this at 8 am. I expected cuddles in bed with my favorite people instead I got a problem.” you say as you sigh and get out of the room.
“ See if you weren't a child lee we wouldn't have upset her.” said aleesia.
“ and if you just let it go we wouldn't have either.” added leah.
“ Enough, you two.” you yell from across the room and they go quiet.
You opt for a shower to relax from the stressful morning you had. Once you got out you found Leah waiting for you. You ignored her and headed straight for the mirror to apply skin care. She came up behind you, put her hands on your swollen belly and kissed your shoulder.
“ I am sorry.” she mutters.
“ It's not me you should say that to.” you respond.
“ She is angry at me.” you turn to face her and cup her cheeks.
“ Say you're sorry and she will forgive you. You were harsh on her, you know. She was just trying to help you.”
“ I didn't mean to snap at her.” Leah genuinely feels bad for what happened.
“ So go console her and show her that you love and appreciate her.” Leah was like a toddler sometimes which was one of your favorite things about her. She gives you a kiss and leaves. After you are done you head to the kitchen, make coffee, and scroll on your phone. You were lost in your phone and suddenly you feel it get yanked out of your hand. Your attention goes quickly to the new sensations on your neck. They were both kissing you, each one kissing a different side. Your hands gravitate to their hair and a moan escapes your lips. Their hands however were perfectly situated on your belly. Alessia stopped kissing you first which sourced a whine from you. She immediately kneels to the level of your belly. “ she just kicked i felt her.” she exclaimed happily. moments like these were why you kept up with their nonsense. And the sex of course. Leah does the same thing and you admire them as they talk to your belly in an adorable voice.
“ So I understand that you two made up.” They both stop and look at one another and smile.
“ Sorry this happened, I know you wanted a slow morning.” apologized alessia.
“ It's not that late. We can still go lay down on the couch together.” she added.
“ Since I created the chaos I will prepare breakfast,” said leah.
After you demolish your food you lay on Leah's chest and Alessia puts her head on your lap and just sits there admiring each other. You really love these two idiots and are excited to start a family with them.

Hey! If you’d like a request I have an idea for grumpy. What if she starts calling Alessia her first name instead of mum. Like she copies the other girls on camp, but no one understands why she’s refusing to call her mum, she just wants to fit in with the big girls.
NOT MY NAME — alessia russo x child!reader
grumpy masterlist
you were often surrounded by someone at all times of the day whether that was your mummy or your mummy's teammates or as they were your honorary aunties.
this meant you picked up a lot of their little habits as well as copying them just cause you wanted to feel apart and fit in with your aunties.
sometimes these little habits were good things like making sure you said please and thank you while others may not be as good like your cheekiness that ella and georgia would gladly teach you to be a master of or your competitive drive that lucy and leah would instil in you.
however alessia never thought that at your small age of four she would be hearing you call her anything but mummy.
but you continue to surprise alessia day in and day out and here she was hearing you call her everything else but mummy.
alessia thought it was just a one time thing, you had heard her teammates and family and friends call her alessia, less or lessi your entire life so why now were you starting to call her it.
alessia had spent time trying to rack her brain around why you weren’t calling her mummy, she’d even asked some of the girls if they may have an idea but non of them could seem to figure out the riddle as to why.
she thought maybe you were just doing it as a joke but nearly two weeks is a long time for you to carry on a joke, especially when you had a tendency to forget things very quickly because of your young age.
ella had suggested maybe it was just something she had picked up at nursery, maybe you’d been learning about family trees and needed to know your mummy’s name for that. but then why would you carry on to call her by her name instead of mummy.
you had heard ella and your mummy’s teammates call her alessia, lessi and you liked it so you decided that’s what you would call your mummy from now on.
and it definitely hadn’t been a one time thing.
"lessi!" you called out, your mums head snapping up at your voice as her eyes froze at the words coming from your mouth. "alessia!" you said again tapping your mummy on the shoulder, your mum just blinking for a minute.
"that's not my name!" your mummy said firmly as she lifted you onto her knee. your turned your head to the side to look at your mummy with a small grin etched on your face.
"it is! it's lessi!" you grin back, the team coach filled with the arsenal players as they made the journey to manchester for the game at the weekend.
"no it's not!" alessia shook her head, moving you slightly so she could carry on the essay she was writing for her uni work, alessia had been hoping you were going to nap so she could get some work done but when had anything ever gone the way alessia had hoped.
"yes it is! that's what auntie tooney and leelee call you!" you pouted, you were getting frustrated with being told that you weren’t allowed to do as you wanted. a frown appearing on your face as you folded your arms across your chest.
"yes their allowed to, i'm mummy to you!" your mummy quickly said putting an emphasis on the word ‘mummy’ as she began to type on her laptop that was on the table in front of you.
"no alessia!" you huffed your voice getting a little louder as your mummy shushed you pointing to the sleeping girls in front of you, kyra and emily.
"it’s mummy!"
"alessia." you grumbled sliding down off your mummy’s lap as you were now in a sad mood, wandering off slowly to find someone who was awake or wasn’t watching their ipads which is what your mummy wished you were doing instead of arguing what you had to call her.
you found yourself tapping lotte on the arm, she wasn’t asleep and she wasn’t watching her ipad with headphones instead she was doing some hard looking puzzle, which was slightly hurting your eyes as you looked at it.
“hey little one, you wanna help?” lotte asked sweetly as you climbed into the seat beside her, grumbled a no as your forehead still had a crease in it from your deep frown you had on your face.
your face told lotte everything she needed to know. you were not in the happiest of moods.
“what’s got my tiny so frowny” she asked shutting her puzzle book and putting her pen down as your arms still rested on your chest.
“alessia being a meany.” you said simply as lotte blinked slightly as she tried to come to terms with what you had just said.
“alessia? you mean your mummy?” lotte now had a puzzle face and this definitely seemed like a harder puzzle to solve than the ones in her book. lotte was confused.
“she said i can’t call her alessia, only mummy.”
“well tiny she is your mummy” lotte said simply, slightly lost as she raised an eyebrow still not really getting your whole point but it was slowly coming back to her that alessia had mentioned that you had this new habit of calling your mummy by her proper name.
you first picking it up on england camp a couple weeks ago and alessia had told lotte how she hoped it was jsut going to be a thing that you forgot about but here you were nearly 11 days post england camp and you were still calling your mummy by her proper name.
alessia and tried to sit you down and explain why you shouldn’t call your mummy by her proper name but you were having non of it. you wanted to be like the big girls.
“but i wanna call her alessia like you do and auntie ella and lele call her, it not fair” the pout had came back as you stamped your foot against the seat you were sitting on, your legs being held up to your chest.
“hey no no, listen.” lotte cooed as she could see your bottom lip start to wobble, knowing that if she didn’t find a solution in the next few seconds then a meltdown was definitely imminent. lotte heart rate beating just that little bit faster.
“we do all call her alessia but that because we don’t get to call her by her special name that you do, only you can call her mummy” lotte continued talking in her calm voice which you did like to sit and listen to, lotte was one of the few people on the arsenal team that you would sit and listen to talk. there was something that you found so mesmerising in her voice.
“and when you don’t call her by her special name that’s just for you that upsets her a little cause that’s only for you to call her, just like she’s the only one that calls you lovie” lotte explained as you nodded your head slowly a pout was still on your face but lotte had managed to stop the meltdown, lottes heart rate able to return back to normal.
“but i wanna be like the big girls” there it was. there was the reason behind all the madness. you wanted to fit in.
“but us big girls want to be like you, cause your so cool. and i’ll let you into a secret, your the coolest russo i know!” lotte nudged you slightly, it getting you to unfold your arms as a small smile came on your fave as lotte pointed out that she saw your grin.
“so do you get why your mummy is saying you can’t call her alessia?” lotte asked hoping she had got through to you as you nodded confidently, you understood now. and hearing that you might be upsetting your mummy made you feel a little bad as you didn’t like when your mummy was upset even more so when she was upset with you.
“yes! cause i have a special nickname for her that’s just for me to call her by!” you smiled confidently as you repeated what lotte had said. a big nod coming from lotte as you spoke.
“nailed it! good job tiny!” lotte smiled proudly, feeling accomplished that she was able to explain such a topic to you and you understand her. lotte holding her hand out for you to high five.
you knew what you needed to do now, so you quickly slid of the chair next to lotte mumbling a thank you. “bye lotte”
you wandered you way carefully back to your seat next to your mummy, in a better mood than when you left your seat. tapping your mummy on the knee when you got back.
“yes baby?” alessia smiled small as she lifted her headphones off the top of her head.
“sorry…” you said quietly as she lifted you over onto the seat next to the window.
“it’s okay lovie, if you want to call me-“ alessia was ready to admit defeat, knowing there must be a reason as to why you were calling her by her actual name and decided that maybe it would be a phase and tomorrow you may go back to calling her mummy again.
whatever it was it wasn’t worth arguing with you about it.
“no your mummy, cause that’s my special name for you. just like yours for me is lovie!” you quickly cut off your mummy, alessia taking a minute to take in your words as alessia felt her heart strings be pulled at.
“and who helped you figure that out?” alessia asked her eyebrow raised slightly as she awaited to hear who gave you such wise words.
“auntie lotte!” your mummy gave a knowing nod as you revealed who it was, of course it was lotte.
“i’m really sorry, i just wanted to be like the big girls” you admitted, alessia feeling her heart go that little bit more. a pout now form on her lips as she pulled you in her lap, hugging you tightly.
“oh lovie, you don’t need to be like them. your perfect just the way your are. i want you to be the lovie i know and love” alessia grinned as she brushed a hair out of your face, you nodding as your mummy kissed the top of your head mumbling how much she adored you.

Guardian angel
Leah Williamson x Alessia Russo x child
A note from the author: Another glimse into the universe of musli.
Warning: Angst? Night terrors? Boys??
Summary: You try to start kindergarten, but Leah comes to a realisation.
-
You can feel your heart beaming in your chest. The beats are hard, almost painful. It feels like it’s about to fall out of your chest, and run away to a place of safety. A place that you have yet to find. You stand behind the corner of the hallway scared to peek out while Alessia and Leah is arguing. You had woken up hearing them argue. Their voices angry, both filled with rage. Your worst nightmare had cometrue. You made the two women hate each other. The only fosterhome you had felt somewhat safe in, was falling apart because of you. You remeber how your foster brother, Sebastian, would tell you that his parents was splitting up because of you. It makes your tiny hands tremble. You felt a gulp in your throat, but at the same time it was screaming for water. Tears linger in your eyes before you violently try to rub them away. You swallow a sob terrified to bring attention to yourself.
“I hate you! I hate her! Why do we even let her stay?!” Leah yells after Alessia who moves to stand behind the couch in the middle of the room.
“Stop being a bitch about it, we can just get rid of it!” Alessia hurries back at Leah.
Leah frowns.
“Oh, now, NOW, I know i understand! Where is she? Where is the problem??!”
They both turn to look at you as you tumble out of your hiding spot. You dont understand why you end up tumbling out from your hiding spot. Leah laughs in a way that immediately makes you want to cry. She sounds like one of the evil stepmothers on the princess movies.
“You! You are the problem! Y/N, come here! You are leaving now! Out!” Leah scream at you before they both start chasing you down the hallway.
Your feet picks up and you run as fast as you can before you reach the guest room that you remind yourself are only borrowing. Everything feels like a blur. Your hands try to cling to the door in an attempt to unlock it. But you can’t get the door open. It seems stuck. Your hands arent strong enough. You try as hard as you can. But it won’t budge. Not even when you use all the force in your body.
You turn around to face the two women who are slowly creeping up on you. They have devilish looks on their faces, and you cry hysterically in panic.
“Please, Please, Mrs.Alessia, I’ll leave! I promise, don’t hurt me!”
You cry back, but they won’t listen. They just keep their scary smiles plastered on their faces while slwly moving towards you. You don’t know what to do. Alessia’s eyes look kind of black, you notice. It scares you even further. You scream as the pair of them comes up close to you with the most intense smiles you have ever seen. You close your eyes in terror as you scream and cry. The panic sets in.
“Mommy!! I want mommy! Mommy, please, please! Please, come get me mommy! Don’t hurt me please, I’m-I’m gonna be good, I promi-
That’s when you feel a pair of hands on your shoulders, you can feel a sensation of someone shaking you gently. It startles you. You jerk in shock. You feel out of breath. Your hands are clinging to your eyes, terrified to open them.
“Y/N? Love, it’s okay. It’s just a dream”
Just a dream, you think. You are not sure if you believe it. You open one of your eyes slowly and see Alessia hunched down next to you on the carpet. Your body is feeling sweaty, and you are exhausted. Every part of your body feels tense. Leah is standing in the doorway with a sad look on her face while giving you a sad smile.
You look at Alessia with panic in your eyes. The realisation has hit you, you woke them up.
“I’m-I’m so sorry Mrs.Alessia, I didn’t mean too. Plea-Please, don’t send me away. I’ll be good, I’ll be quiet, I pinky promise” you sob as you wobble your lower lip.
Alessia sends you a sad, but comforting look before opening her arms to you. “It was just a nightmare, angel. We are not mad at you, not ever.”
This happens again and again. You have nightmares that won’t go away. You worry that they will get tired of it, tired of spending time comforting you, tired of being woken up by screaming. But she dosent get tired. She does this every night, hold her arms open. Secretly, she hopes for the day you will hug her back. To allow yourself to be a little girl. Because that’s what you are. Just a little girl that needs love.
Musli always follows them into the room when you cry. He always falls asleep next to you, and when you are sound asleep; he retrieves to get food and cuddles before he comes back for the night. He stands next to Alessia, and he purrs while bonking his head at her. You look at them. You remember what your mom always said about cats. If a cat trust someone and like them, then they are good people that you can trust. Cats are better at judging peoples charater.
You don’t know why, but one night you throw yourself to her. You hold on to her like she is the last flotie and you are in the middle of the ocean. Alessia silently hushes you while holding you tight and rocking you gently back and forth. Her hand resting on the back of your head while walkin gback and forth. It feels nice. Almost safe. Like one of the mommy hugs you would get when you hurt your toe outside. But you never dare to hug her back. Feelings come rushing down your throat, and you feel a sob sneaking out of your body. Then you cry, and cry and cry and cry until eventually pass out in exhaustion.
The following mornings follows the same rhythms. Night terrors in the middle of the night. Alessia and Leah takes turns in holding you and comforting you. You pass out from crying. Then, you wake up in your new bed with musli licking your face. Using his loud purrs, he tries his best to soothe you. He is always calm. It makes you wonder if this place might be safe.
You stumble out of your bedroom feeling frightened that your new foster moms might have left you alone for the day. It’s not unusual, plenty of families used to leave you alone. Claiming you were a big girl. But, your new guardians are always at the kitchen, always waiting for you with a warm breakfast. At first, you thought it was just for show. Like when your old fosters would dress you up all nice and give you a shower before your social worker would arrive. But by each day that goes, the care feels less than just for show. For a split second, you believe that perhaps someone might care about you.
You aren’t old, just four. Four fingers. All of your fingers except for your thumb. Just four. You already know you can’t trust anyone. People always turn on you, but that’s okay. It is because you always misbehave. But your last foster family would leave you alone for hours upon end if you misbehaved. Misbehaving would be things like not get yourself up in time, eat too much, make noise or complain. It scared you to the point of shaking, you never wanted to misbehave. There was always so many rules at every new house, and it was hard to know what rules belonged to what house. It was confusing. You wish you could write, that way you could note down the rules. But you can’t even spell your name. Because you are just four.
In your last family, you weren’t allowed to pet the dog. You weren’t even allowed to touch the dog. But here, at Leah and Alessia’s house; Musli gets to sleep in your bed. He even sleeps next to you after Leah and Alessia has said goodnight and you crawl to lay on the big carpet. It’s nice, you decide. It feels like somewhat of a routine. You think you like that. If things are predictable, then you won’t misbehave, and then they won’t kick you out.
But this morning; it’s different. When you wake up, you see Alessia. She is gently shaking you to wake you up, but you feel scared. You instantly shoot up thinking that you did something wrong. That you might have misbehaved in your sleep.
“I-I’m sorry, Mrs.Alessia. I’ll do better tomorrow, I pinky promise!” You beg as tears once again stream down your red cheeks. Your cheeks that are always painted with beautiful roses. The tears aren’t normally allowed at fosterhomes, so you wipe your eyes so hard that your vision becomes fuzzy. Because you cannot misbehave.
But Alessia isn’t angry. She smiles at you before tucking your hair behind your ear. She squats down, and seems like she is inviting you in for a hug. You haven’t had a proper hug for a long time, only the ones you get when you have nightmares. But, you barely remember them. The only hugs you’ve had from other than Alessia and Leah: was mommyhugs and daddyhugs. You decided that the hug from Alessia is a test, so you just look down into the ground hoping that you made the right choice. Because you are terrified to misbehave. To take up too much space. You worry about what your new moms are like when they are mad. A part of you thinks that they are gentle. Like if Leah and Alessia becomes upset with you, you think that they might let you have the bed. And if they take your bed away, you still have the soft carpet.
Alessia gives you a sad smile before sitting down on her knees. You give her your best smile while trying to silent your sobs. Alessia’s heart breaks into a million little pieces when she sees you, a four year old, trying to soothe herself. She can only hope for the day when you let them into your heart because she knows that you have already filled up theirs.
“We are going shopping for you today, love. We have the day off, and kindergarten is starting up soon”.
You look at them in confusion. First at Leah, then at Alessia. What things, you think. You feel worried, have you lost something? And why do you have to be sent away?
“But first, breakfast” Alessia encourages you, and you immediately go to find your special chair. This is a part of the routine that you know by heart. After breakfast, it’s the same routine too. You put your plate in the dishwasher, you go get whatever clothes you can find in your drawer and Leah helps you brush your teeth before Alessia does your hair. You decide that you like it. The routines. It makes you feel like you might be able to trust them. Like you can predict what will happen. When they pamper you, it feels like you are four years old and not some kind of mini adult.
-
When you get to the mall, it’s big. It’s much bigger than any place that you have ever been at. Alessia says that it’s called Westfield. You think it sounds fancy. Expensive. You feel scared once you realise that you do not have any money. You only have your little stuffie, Meow. He is the only thing you own and you hold him tight scared that he might be taken away from you.
Leah hops out of the car, and unbuckles you. The carseat they put you in feels soft and comfortable. Normally, your fosters never take you anywhere. You and Leah meet Alessia in-front of the car. It feels scary when you look around you. There are cars parked everywhere, and more people than you have ever seen before.
You look up at Alessia with a scared look on your face. She instantly squats down to your level.
“It can feel overwhelming to be here for the first time. That’s okay, Leah feels overwhelmed with going to the mall too.”
You look over at Leah who nods at you. It makes you smile shyly.
“Do you want to hold my hand?”
You look at Alessia before you nod. Holding hands. Normally, your foster family never lets you hold their hands. You decide to take advantage of the opportunity. Your mom would always hold your hand when going to the park. It’s a good memory. Perhaps you can go to the park with Leah one day.
You grab Alessia’s hand and look at Leah. You offer her to hold the paw of mr.meow that is safely in your left hand. She takes it, and it sneaks a slight giggle out of you. The giggle makes Alessia and Leah’s hearts flutter. It’s the first time they have heard you giggle.
-
You arrive at the store that your new foster moms have picked out for you to go to. At the front of the store, there are statues with clothes on them. You like the dresses that they are wearing. They are pink and with ruffles. It also looks like it’s a twirly dress, you used to love twirly dresses.
In the store, you don’t really know what to do. You never shop. People usually never get things for you. You just stand there with mr.meow in your hand looking around you. There are crying kids everywhere, it confuses you. Why are they allowed to leave the house if they cry? You decide that it’s because they got lucky with their parents than you.
“Here, what do you think about this dress?”
Alessia holds out a pink dress with hearts on it. It surprises you, but you look her way. You touch the fabric with your hands. It feels soft. You smile shyly and nod to Alessia. Leah immediately grabs it and puts it in the basket before you deny the gift.
“What about this skirt? Maybe with this top?”
Alessia holds out a skirt this time. It’s made out of the same material as your jeans, and it has sown in pink stars at the bottom. The top next to it is a sweater. It’s a white sweater with a little bow on the neckline. You nod.
This is how the whole shopping trips goes. They suggest something, and you nod. It’s not that you aren’t grateful, because you really are. You just don’t know how to tell them that you want something or not want something. Luckily, Alessia seems to know what little girls like to wear.
After walking through the clothes part of the store, you spot the toy department. It has a bunch of toys. Anything from teddies to trains to barbie dolls. Your eyes glides across the area, quickly scanning the toys.
Then you see it. You stop in your tracks. It’s a cupboard, a little taller than you in the shape of a house. It has doors and carvings, and windows. Inside the house is a series of mice from Maileg. Your eyes light up when you see them. It’s the same mice you got from your mom. She would collect them for you. You would call it your them your “little mouse”.
Alessia notices your sudden interest in the display, and takes a step towards it. Your feet follow along as you near the mice. You can see them. It’s all kinds of mice. Its a set with a mommy and daddy mouse in wedding outfit, it’s a kit with a wooden fridge filled with little realistic pieces of food, it’s a box shaped like a matchbox with three triplet baby mice in it. Then there is the princess mouse, she has atleast 10 mattresses. There is all kinds of accessories too. A kit with a bathing suit, swim giggles and beach towels. A circus kit with a circus ball and a clown. A mouse with a tent and binoculars. There are also clothes for the mice, and hangers for their clothes and beds and little furniture for the mice.
But at the corner of your eye, it’s a special box that catches your eye. It’s a teal box in the shape of a suitcase with gold dots and gold letters on it. Your right hand drop Alessia’s hand and left hand drops mr.meow who is still holding Leah’s hand. You eagerly open the box, and your hopes are confirmed. It’s a guardian angel mouse. Not just any kind, but the same kind your foster dad took away from you for not sharing it with your foster brothers. It’s the same kind your mom gave you to have in your backpack when you started nursery as a baby. You would also bring it to see your grandparents and when you went to the park. You open the box, and the same mouse that you had earlier is right in front of you. It has a pink dress, white wings and a little yellow halo. At the corner of your eyes, water is gathering. It makes you feel embarrassed, but also desperate. Desperate because you want it. You want it more than anything else in the whole world. Maybe not more than you want your mom and dad, but it’s a close call. You consider to put it in your pocket and take it. But that would be wrong. But you really want it.
Alessia and Leah seems to have catch on because Leah squats down next to you. She dries the tear that has escaped your eye.
“Take it, little miss. I’ll get it for you”
You look over at Leah. You want to smile and be happy, but you feel unsure. Is this a test? The mice is expensive. You know this because mommy told you so. She said it was lots of pounds for a tiny mice, that this was something you had to use your birthday wish to get it. But knowing your mom, she got it for you. Just like she knew you would need it one day.
“Maybe, it can be a birthday gift? Or Christmas gift? Or I can try to pay you back?”
You suggest out of desperation, not wanting to accept it without a play to repay them.
“Don’t worry about it, baby. We will get it for you. Is there anything else you would like to go with it?”
You look at the display, but shake your head. You only want the guardian angel mouse. The stupidly expensive mice with the little pink dress. Secretly, you want another mouse to keep it company. Maybe a little bed for them to sleep in, but you don’t wanna seem ungrateful.
“Thank you, Leah” you say as you choke a sob. You feel an overwhelming feeling of gratefullness. Grateful to be with Leah and Alessia. Grateful to have a memory of your mom. Grateful to be allowed a toy.
-
When you get home that day, you go through all your old clothes with Alessia. Leah had to go to buy groceries, so she isn’t helping out. Alessia lay your clothes out on the floor. It’s weird, you think. Your mommy would do the same thing. Your clothes aren’t much to brag about. Some of them have stains and others are too small. Some of them have holes and others are worn out.
The pieces of clothing are carefully sorted into piles before placed in bags. Your old clothes that are in decent condition gets put back into the dresser. Then, Alessia carefully folds your new clothes and place them into the dresser filling it up completely.
“All set for your big adventure tomorrow!” Alessia cheers at you. You feel confused.
“Am I being sent away? I just need a black bag and I-”
“No, we are not sending you away. We will never just send you away. Tomorrow, we are going to see your new kindergarten. Then, you will stay there for a few hours until we pick you up.”
“Uhm, why? Am i bad?”
“Me and Alessia will go back to work. Mondays and Thursdays, you will get to go to kindergarten to play with other kids. It will just be a few hours, I promise.”
Alessia confirms while carefully closing your drawers. You can’t help but feel scared that they will forget to pick you up.
“..oh”
You feel sad with the explanation. A part of you wonders why you can’t come with them to work. It feels safe to be with them at all times. That way, you can make sure to always be a joy to be around. However, if you aren’t there. You can’t keep track of what the adults are talking about. If they are talking about getting rid of you.
-
The next morning comes around, and soon enough you were standing inside of the kindergarten. You had been to kindergartens before, but your old foster parents forgot you there. There were plenty of kids. Some were crawling while others were running. There was even a girl in a wheelchair. Everyone seemed so happy busy playing with all the toys you could even dream of.
However, you don’t play with any of the toys. You had been placed at the little table next to the crayons and sheets to draw. But, you dont draw. You are just observing everyone around you. Everything around you. The buzz of the room is loud, and every know and then someone cries.
A young woman comes walking over to you, and sits down across for you. She has a name tag, and she is a grown up. She grabs a sheet and a pink crayon before she starts drawing. You look at her while she draws. You notice how she sticks her tongue out in concentration. Her hands are busy drawing at top speed. After a while, she turns the drawing around towards you.
“It’s a dandelion”
You take a look at it. Dandelions are yellow, you think. But you don’t dare to correct her. You nod while looking at her, your hand pressing the little mouse in your pocket.
“It’s pretty” you whisper back.
She smiles at you, but you don’t smile back.
“Do you want to help me color it in?” She suggests. Your eyes widen at the idea. Your mom would draw pictures for you to color in. You immediately nod, and she giggles before signing for you to come over to her side.
“Do you wanna sit on the chair?” She asks. You shake your head rapidly.
“Okay, do you want to sit on my lap?” You nod. That is what feels the safest. Not because you trust her, but because then she can’t leave you if you color outside of the lines.
You get handed a yellow crayon, and you carefully color inside the lines. Then, you grab the brown crayon, and color the middle. Eventually, you finish your Colouring. The woman lifts it up and smiles.
“You are an artist!” She cheers at you while rubbing your shoulders. You look down and blush.
After colouring, the group moves on to lunch. It smells like tomato sauce, it’s your favourite meal. You love tomato sauce, pasta and minced beef together. It was one of your childhood favourites, just like you mommy would make whenever you had a bad day.
A plate gets placed on the mat infront of you, and you get handed a fork. It’s like the one at home, the kids sized forks. It’s nice, it feels safe. But then you feel a wave of feelings hitting you. You tear up as your lower lip wobble, and you drop your fork in the heat of the moment. All the kids turn to look at you, and you feel terrified.
Your hand goes into your pocket, to hold your guardian angel mouse. It might give you some well needed soothing. But before you are able to hold it for long, a boy points to your mouse and screams something along the lines of “no toys at the table”.
The anxiety kicks in, and suddenly you launch yourself off your chair before sprinting into the warderobe hiding behind your jacket. You sit there and sob while an older woman tries to console you; but it dosent work. She tries to be gentle, but ends up feeling frustrated. When she asks you to place the mouse in your backpack, you cry harder and push your face towards the wall while the tears are streaming down.
Then, the young woman that helped you color takes over for the old woman. She sits down next to you; she dosent touch you, she dosent yell and she is whispering words of encouragement to you. After a while, you feel exhausted from crying and you start to fall asleep in your hiding spot. The woman gently touches your shoulder before scooping you up in her arms. You look at her, half awake with a puzzled look.
“Just sleep princess, I’ll call your parents”
-
Leah is out in physio when it happens. Her phone buzzes, and she stops the treatment on her knee to answer the call. She feels a lump in her throat when she hears the voice of the woman from the kindergarten, and she feels directly alarmed when she hears your sobs lingering in the background.
“I’ll be there in five, thank you for calling” she finishes before sprinting out of the session, not giving a care about the no running restrictions that she is on. Her feet takes her to the field where she immediately spots Alessia.
“Lessi, we have to leave! It’s y/n” she yells grabbing the attention of the whole group. Alessia’s eyes widen. Leah is never stressed. She only remember her being stressed when their cat disappeared for 24 hours. She knows that this is an emergency and she quickly releases herself from the resistance band that she has got herself hooked onto. The pair of the sprint to the car before speeding to the kindergarten, both women still in their kits.
By the time they pull up to the kindergarden, you are hysterically crying again. The pair of them practically abandon their car in the middle of the parking lot, they can already hear your cries through an open window. And the cries are heartbreaking. The girls share a terrfied look wondering what could possibly have gone wrong. Leah starts running towards the entrance getting a hand on the doorknob before Alessia catches up and holds her back by the shoulder.
"Lee, we have to be calm. She dosent need to see us worried or scared. I know you want to get to her, but we need to be calm." Alessia stressed at Leah. Leah crossing her arms over her chest before realising that Alessia was right. She takes a deep breath, trying her best to seem calm and collected.
"Let’s go get our girl" Leah says as she opens up the door to the kindergarden eyes immediately scanning the room to find you.
-
You are still sat behind your jacket, still crying. Nobody really knows what set you off, and you are not sure either. Perhaps its the overwhelming feeling of being one of 20 kids or perhaps its the lunch reminding you of your parents. The boy that called you out for having your mouse in your pocket, definitly played a part in it.
You arent sure why you feel like this, but when you see your fostermoms: you feel desperate . As Alessia is walking next to the teacher, Leah is practically jogging towards you. You only see her throught your tearsoaked eyes and reach your hands towards her begging for a sense of comfort. Leah's hands reach for you and scoop you up almost on autopilot.
Leah holds you tight as you sob leaning your head into her chest while your tiny hands are cluthing her shirt. She softly hushes you while bouncing you slowly back and forward in her arms. She whispers soothing words into the top of your head. The warmth of leah and the loud beating of her heart makes you feel sleepy. You yawn mid sob before falling asleep in Leah's arms.
"Leah, i can carry her. You need to be careful with your leg. Here, take her jacket instead." Alessia insists reaching her hands towards you. Leah instantly turns you away from Alessia feeling like you are too fragile to be removed. Leah dosent care that her leg hurts, she just cares that you are feeling safe.
"I'll carry her, shes my kid" Leah mumbles holding a hand on your head pressing it into her shirt while walking towards the exit. The only thing she can think of is how she wants to protect you. How she needs to make sure that you are safe. Alessia gives an apologetic look to the teacher before catching up with Leah. Alessia lays her hand on Leah's back.
“Leah, she isn’t ours. Not yet at least, and for all we know they might have a family for her” Alessia remind her sending shivers down Leah’s back.
"I dont care about laws and your opinion, im never letting her go back into another fosterhome. Or another home. Or to this stupid kindergarten. She’s coming with me to work. Im not asking, Alessia. Im telling you. She has been through enough in four years. She deserves the world, and I’ll give it to her. I’ll call the social worker first thing tomorrow.”
Leah holds you tight, sheltering your face from the wind. Alessia feels pride when hearing Leah speak about you, because Alessia wants to add you to their family too.
"Its okay Lee, we will find a way"

Liability - Alexia putellas x reader (+platonic Lucy bronze)
Based on this little request of ficlets (more will follow) x
Warnings: no warnings just Alexia being overly protective
- part of the “everything happens for a reason” universe 🤗
It was around 9pm and Lucy had just returned from dinner and analysis with the team when her phone started to ring. Glancing down at it, she was met with a picture of Alexia bent down as you poured champagne into her mouth out of the Champions league trophy, a contact photo that captured a rare moment of pure joy from the Catalan midfielder. Lucy wondered what on earth would her captain be calling about this late at night, worried it was to yell at Lucy for not telling her that you were pregnant, the second she found out. Hesitantly, Lucy accepted the face time.
“Ay dios mío Lucia today would be great” scolded Alexia.
“Sorry Ale but may i ask why you’re calling me out of the blue?” She replied
“Y/n is pregnant.” She stated bluntly.
Ah yes Lucy could see this one coming but she was not about to be blamed for anything Alexia was ready to accuse her of.
“She is. Congratulations.” Lucy responded in an equally blunt tone.
“I’m very happy” Alexia added.
“You really sound it Ale” Lucy mocked
“Excuse me?” exclaimed the blonde, a hint of annoyance laced her voice.
“Why are you calling me Alexia, I’m very happy for you both too but this phone call seems rather pointless, like something that could’ve been done over text?” Said Lucy, hoping her captain would get to the point so she could be on her way to bed.
“Right yes, there was a point” Alexia stated, clearing her throat as though she was preparing a pre-match speech. “I love y/n very much but she’s ridiculously stubborn, I mean she hid a whole pregnancy for a while just so she could play in this tournament. Whilst I’m mad at her, I can’t say I wouldn’t do the same so with that being said, I’m asking you to watch over her for me.”
Lucy was taken aback, she was not sure what she’d expected from this conversation but this wasn’t quite it.
“You’re asking me to babysit your wife?” Laughed Lucy
“Sort of? I’m just saying I know I already told you to make sure she didn’t do anything stupid, like play through and injury and when I told you to keep an eye on her sickness and stuff but now she’s carrying mi princesa, even more of a reason why I won’t let her do something dumb.” She explained
“Alexia you and I both know how stubborn she is, if I start hovering she’ll kill me” Lucy argued
“Fine I tried to be nice, she always tells me if I use my captain voice it’s not fair but Lucia I swear to God if anything happens to her or my baby I will get you benched for the rest of the season and then kill you” Alexia responded with a stern, demanding voice.
“Okay okay but if she finds out and calls you to complain that’s your fault not mine” bargained Lucy.
“Si si, of course! Make sure she eats enough, lots of vitamins, make sure she doesn’t train too hard, make sure she gets lots of sleep and-“
“Crshhhhh lo siento Capi the phone is- crshhhh breaking up- crshhhhh”
And with that Lucy hung up, rustling her crisp packet worked every time with Alexia as she had been told by you, bless Alexia and her inability to understand technology.
Just as Lucy opened her hotel room door, Mary came running down the corridor with you on her back, Alessia and Ella hot on her heels. Dear God what had Lucy gotten herself into.

More than a pretty face II Alessia Russo x Williamson!Reader
romantic masterlist | platonic masterlist | word count: 1630
summary: Leah is the third wheel whenever she’s with your girlfriend Alessia and you. While the striker struggles with her body image.
author's note: hi everyone, we combined the request with an idea we had in the back of our mind and we hope you'll like the mix of lightheartedness and heavier topics. 🤍❤️
Post-training dinners were one of your favourite team traditions. Every few weeks, after a long, hard session, the entire Arsenal squad would go out for a meal. You loved the combination of good food and conversations with your friends. It was something that you were looking forward to every time.
Too preoccupied with arguing with your sister, you completely forgot about the pasta before you. At least until you heard Kyra giggle on the other side of the table.
“Lessi, are you kidding?”, she laughed.
You watched Alessia frown at her: “Why?”
“There’s only green on your plate.”, Kyra grimaced in disgust, pointing at your girlfriend’s salad.
“Yeah, I wanted a salad.”
You studied her plate from across the table. No toppings, no dressing, just plain salad.
Leah involved herself in their conversation: “Nothing wrong with that. Kyra, you could need some greens too.”
Kyra wrinkled her nose again: “Ew.”
Alessia shrugged, smiling: “She’s not wrong.”
It was a polite smile that didn’t reach her eyes.
“Yes, she is. That’s not what you need after a long training session.“, Kyra complained jokingly.
You bit your lip and watched as your girlfriend discussed different food choices with your teammates.
With nervous fingers, you tapped Beths arm and whispered: “Beth?”
The midfielder turned to you: “Hm?”
“I feel like Lessi… I think the comments about her appearance got to her.”, you carefully formulated the worry that had begun to appear in your chest. Suddenly, your stomach was in knots, you weren’t hungry anymore.
“You think so?”, Beth asked in surprise.
“I do… Look.”
She followed your gaze towards Alessia.
“The salad?”
You nodded cautiously: “Yes. Do you think I’m paranoid?”
Alessia had struggled before with her body image, you knew that. So, every sign of changes in her eating pattern sent a subtle wave of panic through your body.
Beth sighed: “I think if you really want to know, you should talk to her.”
You forced a smile: “Ugh, why are you always right?”
“Sorry.“
“Always, right? What did you two chat about?”, Leah asked innocently.
Beth shrugged and deliberately lied to your sister: “Football stuff.”
“Yes, things you wouldn’t understand, Lee.”, you joked, teasing her.
Leah rolled her eyes at you as she so often did: “Oh yeah, because I obviously don’t play football.”
“You do but no that up front.”, you explained.
“Still.”
“Will you drive with us to this team activity thing next week?”
“Nah, I don’t want to be the third wheel again between you two lovers.”, Leah quickly shook her head.
Beth snorted: “You don’t mind that any other time either.”
“And it's not our fault that your girlfriend is American”, you added in a teasing tone, which earned you a playful slap from your sister.
Her lips formed to a pout:” Doesn’t take away from the fact that I don’t want to hang out with you two. I’m driving with Lia and Kim.”
“Oh, wow.”, you whistled, pretended to be offended by her decision.
This didn’t stop the defender from mockingly continuing: “Besides, you’re a horrible driver.”
“Thanks, Lee.”, you rolled your eyes at her.
It was the night of your team activity, usually it involved dinner and games, and you were leaning against the open door of your bedroom to check on your girlfriend:” You’re ready, Lessi? We should be leaving soon?”
“No, I hate my outfit.”, she groaned in frustration, still laying on the bed.
When you noticed the dried tears on her cheeks, your heart broke a little. In the late afternoon light, the blonde looked gorgeous, and you wished she could see herself as you saw her, the striker was even sadly breathtaking.
You gently took Alessia's hands, in which she had hidden her face: “Less, you look beautiful.”
“I don’t.”, the forward replied with a trembling voice.
“Alessia?”
“Yes?”, your girlfriend glanced up at you.
Softly, you asked her:” Would you like to change into something more comfortable?”
“Can I wear your sweater?”, a small smile appeared on the blonde’s lips.
In one quick swipe you pulled off your oversized pullover to hand it to her: “You.. yes, you can have it.”
Alessia pressed the garment gratefully to her chest and explained:” It’s just the comfiest thing.”
In a sincere tone, you whispered into her ear: “You also look very cute in it.”
For a second, she beamed at your words before her grin disappeared as quickly as it had come, leaving only a gloomy expression on her face. “Do you think the comments are wrong or right?”, the striker questioned.
“I knew it was about the comments.”, you mumbled.
“And oh god, maybe I’m a bad role model if I sometimes don’t feel confident in my own body.”, your girlfriend panicked.
Soothingly you began to stroke her back: ”Lessi, calm down.”
“Sorry.”
You cupped her face tenderly in your hands, hoping that your sentences reached her:” Listen, it’s normal not to feel confident all the time. No one does. You’re not doing anything wrong and you’re not a bad role model.”
“But you and your sister look so perfect.”, Alessia protested weakly.
“That’s not true, Less. We’re not perfect, no one is.”
She smiled sheepishly: “At least you’re perfect to me.”
Apparently, your words began to have an effect, because the striker added cheekily: “Aside from the fact that you snore at night, it's not exactly Sleeping Beauty-like.”
“Shut up!”, you playfully hit her arm with the pillow.
Alessia giggled. The sound was like music to your ears.
A little smirk appeared on her face: “Make me.”
You were only too willing to bridge the gap between the two of you and put your lips on hers until your girlfriend was too out of breath to keep talking.
But before you could make a move, Alessia interrupted herself after checking the time on her phone: “Actually, wait for it until after team bonding.”
You heaved a frustrated sigh but still slipped into your jacket: “Fine. Ready to go?”
“I’m ready.”
You both left your apartment but before you got into Alessias car, you took her hand and held her back: “Less?”
Alessia turned towards you: “Huh?”
“You’re beautiful and you’re a great athlete, okay? It doesn’t matter what other people think.”, you assured her one last time.
She nodded thoughtfully: “Okay.”
“Okay, now let’s go, pretty girl.”, you smiled at her.
You got into the passenger seat of her car while Alessia drove.
“I hope they got Pizza on the menu so we can share.”, your girlfriend said suddenly.
You laughed, surprised by her comment: “Oh no. You always say that and then you’ll complain that the pizza in Italy is better.”
“It’s true! Nothing beats Pizza in Italy.”
“See?”, you rolled your eyes with a laugh.
“Okay, fine. I still want to share Pizza with you.”
“Me too.”, you grinned. Your heart skipped a beat, seeing how excited Alessia seemed to be.
You arrived at the location five minutes late and you would have gotten away with it if it wasn’t for your sister.
“Hi, you two are fashionably late.”, she greeted you with a wink.
You shrugged and lied to her: “My fault. We had to make out in the car first.”
Leah grimaced: “Disgusting.”
“Oh, someone’s a gremlin again.”, Alessia teased.
Your sister pouted and turned to Lia: “Wally, they’re impossible.”
“You love them.”, the Swiss player replied matter-of-factly.
“Sadly, I do but don’t tell them.”
“I would never. But I’m sure they know, you love to hang out of them.”, Lia laughed.
“Even when I feel left out sometimes because look at them.”, Leah complained, pointing at where you and Alessia were studying the menu.
Lia grinned: “They’re a couple and you’re surprised about that?”
“Elle and I are not that bad.”
You looked up and glared at your sister: “Yes, you are.”
“Shut up.”, Leah retorted.
You shook your head: “No. The pizzas arrived, my friends.”
Alessias eyes lit up as a server placed the plate in front of her: “Finally.”
The good food, lively conversations with your teammates and your girlfriend’s genuine smile warmed your heart and soul.
Once the dinner was over Leah gave you a short hug:” Drive home safely.”
“You’re not driving with us?”, you asked astonished.
The defender paused for a moment, pretending to think carefully about the question, before answering with a grin on her lips:” Actually, yes, I’ll come with you, but only if Alessia drives.”
Gallantly, Alessia opened the passenger doors and bowed slightly to you both:” Get inside my passenger princesses.”
“Excuse me. I’m the passenger princess, she can sit in the backseat.”, you promptly protested.
“Ugh, fine.”, Leah grimaced as the blonde sat down right behind you.
With a sweet smile, you turned your head towards your sister:” Sorry, big sis.”
“You’re not really sorry.”, the older woman observed her arms crossed in front of her chest.
Your giggles filled the car:”No.”
Amused, Alessia shook her head and turned up the volume on the radio. Once her car stopped in front of the defender’s house, she said:” Good night, Leah.”
“Night, girls.”, the blonde waved goodbye and skipped buoyantly to her front door.
On the way to your home, your girlfriend began nervously.” Amore, I thought about what you said earlier.”
“And?”
“You were right.”, Alessia conceded.
The car stopped at the red light, the rain pattering on the roof, as you hugged her from the side with relief and gave her a kiss on the cheek: “You’re so much more than a pretty face, Lessi, please never forget that.”
“And so are you.”, she replied in an earnest tone, pressing her lips gently to your hand.
Then Alessia continued the drive through the night, the lights of London guiding you both to your home.

If high-profile power couple Remus Lupin and Sirius Black will spend the holidays apart from each other, the tabloids are going to be filled with stories of their Christmas break-up. But Remus can't take Sirius home for Christmas if they're not real.
Can We Make It To Christmas?
Make It To Christmas - Alessia Cara
“We had a deal.”
It's hard to say which is more intimidating, Regulus’ icy stare or Lily's fiery gaze.
“We did have a deal,” Lily replies. “And Sirius’ new album has gotten quite some extra publicity due to his supposed involvement with Remus.”
“And so has Remus’ new play,” Regulus replies cooly. “I'm not denying that so far they've both been profiting off of their highly publicized ‘relationship’. But all the positive publicity will certainly be overshadowed by a break-up right before Christmas.”
Lily crosses her arms over her chest. “The deal also included that in case one of the parties so wished, a break-up would be staged.”
“A clean, mutual break-up with as little publicity as possible,” Regulus says. “If they suddenly spend Christmas apart, all the tabloids will be filled with speculations, insinuations and fabrications!”
Remus is sitting quietly on his chair as Lily argues on his behalf with Sirius’ brother and manager. Sirius himself is sitting across from him, also not saying much, but staring at Remus intently, trying to catch his eye, with that intense, bright-eyed gaze.
But Remus can't look at him. He's afraid that the look in his eyes will betray too much of his emotions.
“Remus,” Lily interrupts his thoughts.
Remus looks up at his best friend and manager.
“I hate to admit it,” Lily says. “But Regulus has a point. If you and Sirius don't spend Christmas together, the tabloids will have a field day making up stories of how you broke up just before Christmas. A messy Christmas break-up is the last thing that we need right now.” She looks at Remus pleadingly. “Can you really not take Sirius home for Christmas?”
“I would take you home to my family,” Sirius speaks up with a wry smile. “But I'm not even welcome there myself.”
Remus shakes his head. “I can't. I'm sorry. I can't.”
“Do your parents dislike my music?” Sirius asks. “Even if I'm usually always singing or playing my guitar, I can go without for a week. I won't sing a single song or play a single note.”
“Sirius, they don't…”
“Is it me then?” Sirius presses. “Do you think your parents won't like me?”
“That's not…”
“Because I know I can be a lot! But I don't have to be. I can be more quiet, more reserved. I can be anything you want me to-”
“You're perfect!” Remus blurts out.
Sirius closes his mouth and blinks.
“Please, Sirius, don't ever think you need to change anything about yourself for anyone. My parents would absolutely love you. But I can't. I can't take you home for Christmas.”
“Why not?” Sirius asks softly.
Remus shakes his head. “I just can't do it. I can't bring someone home, introduce them to my mum and dad, spend the holidays all together. Not if it's not…” Remus swallows. “If it's not real.” He looks at Regulus and Lily, still unable to look Sirius in the eye. “I'm sorry.” He gets up and leaves the room.
Remus saw the paparazzi at his home, he knows they tracked his car, and he's wholly unsurprised to see a swarm of reporters already waiting at the train station.
“Remus Lupin! Why are you and Sirius Black not spending the holidays together?”
“Mr Lupin, does this mean you and Mr Black are officially over?”
“Remus, why did you dump Sirius right before Christmas?”
“Lupin, how does it feel to spend the holidays newly single?”
“Remus, Remus! Is it true you are now involved with someone from your hometown?”
“Remus Lupin, what's it like to be alone for the most romantic time of the year?”
“Remus!”
Remus freezes. Because he knows that voice, and that's neither a reporter nor one of his fans calling his name. He turns around. “Sirius?”
Sirius stops in front of him, out of breath like he ran a long way.
The people around them buzz with excitement as they recognize the person stopping in front of Remus and cameras flash, but Remus hardly notices. “What are you doing here?”
“You…” Sirius has to catch his breath for a moment. “You said I was perfect.”
Remus can't help but laugh. “That can't be the first time you've heard that. There are whole communities online dedicated solely to how perfect people think you are.”
Sirius shakes his head. “You've seen me, seen every part of me, and you still think I'm perfect.”
Remus looks away, because what is he even supposed to say to that?
“Take me home for Christmas,” Sirius suddenly says.
Remus’ eyes snap back to Sirius’ face. “Sirius, I already told you. I can't. Not of it's not-”
“We're real,” Sirius interrupts. “Remus, why don't we stop pretending we're only pretending? We're real. I know it and you know it too.”
Remus' breath halts as he stares at Sirius.
Sirius takes a few steps forward and places a hand on Remus’ cheek. He slowly moves forward and presses their lips together in a kiss. Not one of the fake kisses they've staged for the tabloids, but a real kiss.
Sirius pulls back slightly, but he stays close as he searches Remus’ face.
This time, Remus doesn't look away, and the emotions he was so afraid Sirius would see are reflected back to him.
“We're real,” Remus whispers.

teenage drama II k.cooney-cross x russo!reader ~
(did you miss me cause i missed you) maybe a series 😉 ... but you'll never know? #even pests need love!
★ teenage drama II k.cooney-cross x russo!reader
your sister smirked cheekily as she expertly dribbled the ball past your much smaller legs, slotting it effortlessly in the net a laugh falling from her curled lips as she turned back to see you flinging your head back in defeat.
"lessi please can we play something else? football is so boring!" you groaned, tugging on your sister's arm before she went to collect the ball to play again. "i dare hear those words come out your mouth again! or you'll be banned from movie night, you hear me!" she threatened with a wag of her finger.
the blonde knew just how much you loved movie night, lately it had become one of her many threats to her easily gullible enough sister once she realised how she could manipulate so simply. she didn't really have that kind of power but it was fun for your older sister to feel as high and mighty as her older brothers seemed to be.
your older sister who would make you run around the garden until you both collapsed on the ground in tired smiles, your mother calling out from inside that dinner was ready, the older woman chuckling as she watched you finally catch a breath.
your older sister who would pick your tiny frame off the ground and into her arms as she carried you inside to the table, shaking you out of your sleep as you dozed of in her hold. your older sister who would beg you to join the games night after dinner she had planned for weeks only to fall asleep in your bed the second you dragged her off to your room.
it was safe to say being the youngest russo was easily the most dangerous spot at the table, although your older siblings always argued that the love you recieved as the last grandchild was surely enough to make up for the countless unwanted tackles and jabs you copped from them.
being dubbed as "the nice one" you tried your best to stay out of the russo family wrestling matches, seemingly always the first to attempt breaking your older brothers out of quite literally clashing each others heads together, your older sister only spurring them on as she cheered from beside a worried you.
"go gio go! watch out for his arms you git!" she would squeal moving to jump on top of the sofa quickly out of the way as luca grabbed his younger brother in a headlock, the both of them rolling around all over the floor.
sure you and alessia fought not much differently to your brothers and not much differently to those of your friends, when the older girl would force you to play football with her for hours on end, as she sliced the ball past you almost taking your head with it.
and sure the england forward could make you think twice before telling her your weekend plans to see some of your mates when she would then proceed to show up with her own friends blasting the loudest music you'd ever heard. a shout from her car that "your lift had arrived!" embarrassing you to no end as she cheekily waved you over.
it was not long after that incident that you got your finally your own car three years later and suddenly your lifts from the older blonde were not required, so the blonde had decided you now needed to have a coffee date every sunday to catch up with her younger sister.
although a childhood friend of hers always tagged along and that saved you enough to not have to hear her boastful stories in your ear ever five seconds, though you claimed the older girl hyped herself up just to get on your nerves.
and even if the clumsy girl could be the biggest pain in your ass on a good day, you really did love your her and people would say the two of you would do anything for each other, to the ends of the earth they would say.
but she really could be a pain in your ass.
~
like right now.
"alessia i know how to be an adult! i don't need you on my ass every five seconds!" you seethed. crossing your arms moodily over your chest, ignoring her offer of a piece of gum and focussing on the cars speeding past.
"helicopter parent you are." you mumbled under your breath, smacking away her attempt to give you a hug with a huff. "i heard that!" she whined, giving you an amused smile as she continued driving home.
you sighed looking out the window, your eyes following the curves and edges of each familiar house as you drove past. "okay i'm sorry. can you forgive me!" she grinned with a pout, gripping your wrist over the console as she dragged out her words.
"fine but only because i owe you a coffee and this will cover the cost." you answered begrudgingly, pinching her arm to let go as the blonde let out a cheer and turned the volume of the music up.
you had never enjoyed football growing up, you knew your interests lay elsewhere from a young age. so whilst your siblings played rough house with each other in the garden, you preferred to spend time on your own. tucked away inside with a book often whilst your mother made dinner, the older woman listening to any and every thought of your for hours on end.
and as your siblings weekends began filling with games and tournaments, you now sat in the crowd still buried in your book, head lifting every so often when you would hear your father's loud cheers. different matches every saturday, travelling to the far ends of the country to support your siblings, but no matter how far you were always there for them.
when your sister had made the move over to states, you'd missed her greatly and if it wasn't for your brothers convincing that you needed to focus on your studies you were confident you would have nearly failed your last exams.
it wasn't long before you finished your final exams that you made the decision to move over to london to start your career in the business world. suddenly things began to become clearer, you knew your path lay elsewhere from your siblings.
your passion for business and entrepreneurship had been a driving force throughout your studies, and the opportunity to start your career in london was too good to pass up.
you'd of course settled in easily to the busy life of living in london, smoothly finding your feet as you were quick to immerse yourself in the fast work environment, joining a large company which offered you the chance to learn from experienced entrepreneurs.
now back to present day, you still hadn't taken your older sisters advice to finally take being part of a footballing family in your stride and you were still adamant that your days of kicking footballs with the blonde in the garden were long behind you.
it was through your company that you were able to secure a job at adidas by leveraging your experience from your previous company and network in the business world.
your reputation for innovative thinking and partnerships caught the attention of adidas' acquisition team, who were seeking fresh individuals for their corporate division. it was only after a series of successful collaborations which drove impactful projects, you were offered a high role within the company.
however things looked a lot different now, your sister had now finally moved back from the states and moved through the ranks to what she described as one of the top teams in europe, her training grounds only a mere fifteen minute drive from your apartment.
but given your new company's strong connections with many football teams, you found yourself collaborating with arsenal, or more familiar to you; your sisters club.
failing to realise how much of a pain your sister still was you had offered to help coordinate an event for the team, told by your marketing director to bring your skills to the table.
"right we're here grumpy pants, do you want my jacket in the back? bloody freezing this morning." she grumbled, zipping up her own jacket as she turned the engine off.
"no i'll be fine thanks." you replied, giving your sister a cheeky smile as you stepped out of the car. you pulled your scarf tighter around your neck and looked around at the different fields.
"you look so funny!" you giggled, tugging on your sisters clothing all branded by her club. "oh shush." she hummed, playfully swatting your hands away with a smile. "you're just as annoying as i remember!" she grinned down at you, the blonde easily a few feet taller than you.
"can't say i don't remember younger you at all!" you said sarcastically. pulling up your phone to show her your lock screen, your background a photo of the two of you in the backseat of the car, probably driving off to one of her games out west.
you laughed all the way into the building, unable to contain yourself when the forward pushed on a so clearly labeled pull door and smashed into the glass, causing her to almost topple over.
"less! are you alright?" you questioned, trying to stifle your laughter as as a red mark appeared on her forehead, your sister with a pout on her face. "oh less." you chuckled, watching as your sisters frown deepened.
you reached out to inspect the mark, still trying not to laugh as much as you wanted to. "stop laughing!" she whined, looking a little embarrassed as she made eye contact with her teammates coming through the entrance. "it was an accident okay! my heads sore now."
"okay sorry, i'm sorry!" you apologised, finally able to suppress your giggles. "do you need ice or something?" you asked, pulling the clumsy girl off the floor. "i'll be alright, come on let's go inside."
"well good morning miss russo times two!" you bumped into lotte as you arrived, all of you entering the building at the same time. "lotts!" you squealed, jumping into the older girls arms as she lifted you off the ground.
"tiny! haven't seen you in ages, how's london treating you then?" she asked. the three of you fell into conversation as if no time had passed since you'd seen your sister's best friend.
"but i won't forget the time you made me pick you and gracie up from the dock, the two of you were completely shit faced!" she laughed, reminding you of the time you and a couple of friends maybe not so accidently drank way too much at a party and drunkenly called lotte to uber you home.
"my learning curve was thinking beer and liquor would mix nicely." you winced, thinking back to the hours after the party that lotte spent holding your hair back as you emptied your stomach. "fun night that was." in hindsight it probably wasn't the best start to your last year at school, but it was an easy excuse to not ever get that drunk again.
"yeah pretty fun night until i was woken up in the middle of the night to you and lotte at my window." your sister grumbled, clearly not as amused by the memory as you and lotte. she shrugged her jacket off up in her locker whilst you sat down on the bench.
"oh don't be a grub. can't forget when you and tooney had big night down in london." you chuckled, referring to the time her and the mancunian came home at four in the morning after having taken their first night out in the city.
"mum's got the patience of a saint." the two of you shared a look at that before bursting into a fit of laughter. pulling yourself up from the bench to grab your sister into a tight hug, your bond ran so deep. "i missed this tiny." she spoke into your hair, not missing beth's smile over your shoulders.
"oi russo who's the new lass?" a girl you recognised from your sisters instagram walked over, as you broke away from the hug. "katie meet my sister, she's here on behalf of adidas for a marketing event." the blonde introduced you as a few more girls floated into the locker room.
"nice to meet ya." she smiled, her accent thick as ever. "likewise." you answered, easily falling into a conversation about what you did at college, the irish girl interested in your role at the company.
lotte and alessia shared a look as they too fell into check as katie sat down with you. you watched as katie grinned over your head, clearly smiling at another teammate as you heard them behind you. "look who finally showed!" she chuckled as three girls entered the room, one of them tucking themself into her side.
you couldn't help but let your eyes draw to the youngest of the three as they put their stuff down, there was something captivating about her energy and you couldn't quite place it. that or the fact that she was easily the closest in age to you and downright the most beautiful girl you had ever seen.
caught in your thoughts, you barely even noticed the look that your sister and lotte shared over your head. "awfully chipper this morning, love." she joked as the girl grumpily rested her head onto katie's shoulder, seemingly not have had a great sleep last night. "not my fault dean was away and steph can't handle the pest on her own." she mumbled tiredly, glaring at a younger girl who you gathered was sitting next to steph who looked equally as tired.
"this is cait, arsenal superstar, australian international and most importantly my girlfriend." katie explained, kissing the top of caitlin's head before a hand pushed her face away. "shut up," caitlin giggled as she pulled herself closer.
"hi i'm caitlin nice to meet you, you're alessia's sister aren't you?" she spoke and you nodded back. "yeah that's me." you smiled, shaking her hand as she extended it. "less hasn't stopped talking about you all week, think she's more excited i'm here than i am," you chuckled.
"only good things i hope!" katie said back as your sister sat back down next to you. "mostly good things." you teased as alessia swatted your arm. "tiny best get a move on before those two show you a washing demo!" lotte said, patting your head hearing you laugh.
"not a pest." the younger girl grinned as she came back, arms firmly crossed as she moved across the room, flicking both katie and caitlin. "such a pest" caitlin groaned, as she winked at you.
"you must be kyra." you deduced, recognising the unmistakable australian accent, your sister having described the girls when you met for coffee earlier this week.
"one and only! you're less' sisters aren't you, been looking forward to meeting you." she smirked and caught off guard you couldn't help but blush at her forwardness, but before your cheeks could redden further you caught katie's eyes as she grinned.
but your attention was quickly elsewhere as kyra pulled steph's bun out of it's elastic before grabbing her in a headlock. "quick take it!" kyra shrieked as steph tried to grab her, her hand brushing yours as she tried to give you the elastic.
the australian so easily drew you in like a moth to a flame as her touch lingered on your hands sending a shiver down your spine as you heard her laugh, you couldn't help but wonder if she had done it intentionally.
you felt your breath get caught in your throat as your cheeks once again reddened and you struggled to stay focussed on what your sister was saying. kyra grasped for help with her attractive smile as steph took her down on the floor, the blonde begging for your help as your connected hands brought you both crashing to the ground.
pulling yourself off the blonde you sat up against the wall, herself with a smug grin as you were left alone on the ground. steph having been fed up and walked off the rest of the girls still conversing after a long two weeks apart.
"well, seems we have made friends with the floor." she giggled and you knocked your arm against her with a smile. "seems so." you agreed, the two of you falling into conversation.
perhaps it was the blondes cheeky smile that lured you towards her, or maybe it was the way she seemed so eager to meet you, or even the way her fingers so easily grazed over your own or the warmth that disappeared with them.

Warnings: kissing?
Lia Wälti x Reader:
Title: A Game Of Hearts
MasterList
The café was bright and bustling, the hum of conversation blending with the whirr of an espresso machine. You sat across from Alessia and Kyra, your coffee cooling in front of you, untouched. Alessia’s laughter rang out as Kyra leaned in to whisper something to her, their private little bubble shutting you out again.
You shouldn’t feel bitter. Alessia was your best friend, and you were thrilled that she had found someone who made her so happy. But being the perpetual third wheel had a way of gnawing at your confidence.
“[Y/N],” Alessia said suddenly, pulling you from your thoughts. “You’ve been quiet. You okay?”
You forced a smile. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just tired.”
Kyra arched an eyebrow, her easygoing demeanor tinged with concern. “You sure? You’ve been working a lot lately.”
You shrugged. “Work’s work. Can’t exactly slack off, can I?”
Alessia exchanged a glance with Kyra, and you knew what was coming—a well-meaning but ultimately unhelpful attempt to dig deeper. You quickly deflected.
“So, how’s training going?” you asked, steering the conversation back to them.
Kyra launched into a story about their last scrimmage, Alessia chiming in with her usual enthusiasm. You nodded along, but their words blurred in your mind. You stirred your coffee absently, watching the foam dissolve into the liquid.
By the time you left the café, your chest felt heavy.
That evening, your phone buzzed with a text from Alessia.
Alessia: Hey, some of the team is going out tomorrow night. You should come!
You hesitated, your thumb hovering over the keyboard. The thought of spending another night feeling out of place wasn’t exactly appealing.
You: I don’t know… I’ll probably just stay in.
Her reply came almost instantly.
Alessia: Nope. You’re coming. Non-negotiable.
You sighed. Alessia had a way of dragging you out of your comfort zone, and you didn’t have the energy to argue.
You: Fine. What time?
Alessia: 7. Dress cute.
The bar was already packed when you arrived. Music thumped through the speakers, the bass vibrating in your chest. You spotted the team near the back, crowded around a long table.
“There you are!” Alessia called, waving you over.
You slid into the booth beside her, the faint smell of her perfume a comforting reminder of home. The rest of the team greeted you warmly, their energy infectious. But as the night wore on, you found yourself retreating into your shell.
It wasn’t intentional; you just didn’t know how to fit into the whirlwind of inside jokes and playful banter. Alessia and Kyra were glued to each other, and the others were too absorbed in their own conversations to notice your quiet withdrawal.
Until Lia Wälti appeared.
“You look like you could use some air,” she said, her voice cutting through the noise like a soft breeze.
You glanced up, surprised. She was standing beside you, her calm demeanor a stark contrast to the chaos around you.
“Is it that obvious?” you asked with a weak laugh.
She smiled, tilting her head toward the door. “Come on.”
Outside, the air was crisp, carrying the faint scent of rain. The quiet was a welcome relief from the bar’s overwhelming noise.
“Thanks,” you said, shoving your hands into your pockets. “I didn’t realize how much I needed that.”
Lia leaned against the wall, her dark eyes studying you. “You seemed a little… out of place in there.”
You shrugged. “I guess I’m not really the ‘night out’ type.”
“Neither am I,” she admitted. “But sometimes it’s good to step out of your comfort zone.”
You nodded, unsure how to respond. There was something about Lia—her presence was steady, grounding. She didn’t push for conversation, letting the silence settle comfortably between you.
When you returned to the table, something had shifted. Lia stayed close, occasionally drawing you into the group’s conversations, and for the first time that night, you felt like you belonged.
The following weeks were a blur of small moments. Lia would invite you to join her for lunch after training or sit with you during team gatherings, her quiet company becoming a constant in your life.
One afternoon, after a particularly exhausting training session, you found yourself sitting on the edge of the field, staring at the empty stands.
“Hey.”
You looked up to see Lia approaching, a bottle of water in her hand. She sat beside you, close enough that her shoulder brushed yours.
“Rough day?” she asked, offering you the water.
“Something like that,” you muttered, taking a sip.
Lia didn’t press, her gaze fixed on the horizon. After a long pause, she said, “You don’t have to carry everything on your own, you know.”
Her words caught you off guard. “What do you mean?”
She turned to face you, her expression soft but serious. “I mean, you have people who care about you. Let them in.”
You swallowed hard, her words striking a chord you hadn’t expected. “It’s not that simple.”
“Maybe not,” she said. “But it’s worth it.”
For the first time in a long time, you felt the walls around your heart begin to crack.
Lia’s idea of a break was a quiet afternoon at a park just outside the city. The two of you strolled along a winding path, the air filled with the scent of blooming flowers and the distant hum of bees.
“This place is beautiful,” you said, your voice hushed as if speaking too loudly would disrupt the tranquility.
“It’s my favorite spot,” Lia admitted. “Whenever I need to clear my head, I come here.”
You walked in silence for a while, the only sound the crunch of gravel beneath your feet. Eventually, you reached a small pond, the water shimmering in the sunlight.
Lia sat on the grass, patting the spot beside her. You joined her, the warmth of the sun on your skin a stark contrast to the nervous flutter in your chest.
“Thank you,” you said after a while.
“For what?” she asked, turning to look at you.
“For this. For… everything.”
Her dark eyes searched yours, her expression unreadable. “You don’t have to thank me, [Y/N]. I’m happy you’re here.”
The air between you felt charged, as if something unspoken was lingering just out of reach. But neither of you acted on it, letting the moment pass.
The team’s weekend retreat was supposed to be a bonding experience, but for you, it was a chance to spend more time with Lia. Sharing a cabin with her was both thrilling and terrifying, every small interaction sending your heart racing.
One night, while the others gathered around a campfire, you stayed behind with Lia. The cabin was quiet, the only light coming from the crackling fireplace.
“I feel like I’ve been holding my breath for months,” you admitted, staring into the flames.
“Why?” Lia asked, her voice gentle.
“Because… I don’t know how to let go. How to stop feeling like I’m not enough.”
She reached out, her hand covering yours. The warmth of her touch sent a shiver through you.
“You are enough, [Y/N],” she said softly. “More than enough.”
You looked at her, your heart pounding. The words were on the tip of your tongue, but fear held you back. Instead, you squeezed her hand, hoping she understood what you couldn’t say.
It happened on a quiet afternoon at Lia’s apartment. You sat across from her, watching her laugh at something you said, and suddenly, you couldn’t keep it in any longer.
“Lia,” you said, your voice trembling.
She looked up, her smile fading as she saw the seriousness in your expression.
“I… I think I’m falling for you,” you admitted, your heart hammering in your chest.
For a moment, she didn’t say anything. Then she reached across the table, taking your hand in hers.
“I’ve been waiting for you to say that,” she said softly.
Relief flooded through you, and when she leaned in to kiss you, it felt like the world finally made sense.
The transition from friends to something more was seamless. Lia was patient and kind, her love quiet but unwavering. Alessia and Kyra teased you endlessly, but their support was a constant reminder of the family you’d found.
As you stood on the sidelines during a match, watching Lia lead the team with her steady presence, you couldn’t help but smile.
You weren’t just a third wheel anymore. You were part of something bigger—something beautiful.
And for the first time, you felt whole.

mary earps, out shopping, “remind me why i agreed to have those two idiots as my other children?” (lessi and tooney)
part of the a date to remember universe m.earps II we don't know them
"do they really have to come?" mary groaned as she pulled up out front, sighing heavily as you nodded. "we've been away for nearly two weeks. they probably missed you!" you teased pinching her cheek as she mocked you under her breath.
"i missed aunty lessi and aunty tooney!" delilah piped up from the back, swinging her legs with a cheshire like grin plastered on her face. "so did I tiny. mama did too, she just thinks she's too cool to admit it." you patted your wifes shoulder who rolled her eyes.
"did you tell them we're here? we're going to be late!" mary checked her watch with a huff as you quirked an eye in amusement. "can't be late to do the shopping mama." delilah beat you to it with a giggle as you looked back proudly.
"watch it kid or you'll lose your trolley privileges." mary warned fixing your daughter with a look through the rear view mirror. "so dramatic mary!" delilah parroted your own words from this morning as you slapped a hand over your mouth to stifle your laughter.
though before the goalkeeper could say anything back there was knocks at her window and she jumped a half foot in the air, scowling at the smirking brunette who winked and climbed into the car.
"where's alessia? for god sakes!" mary groaned head thumping back against her headrest. "for god sakes!" delilah mocked doing the same thing as her head thumped against the back of her car seat and she only giggled as mary shot her a dirty look.
"we're still in the parrot phase." you explained to ella who nodded in understanding, a flash of blonde hair hurrying down the driveway and diving into the car. "sorry! couldn't find my other sock." alessia huffed wrestling on her shoe as mary rolled her eyes.
"see? i told you we could go away for two years and these idiots wouldn't change." mary mumbled under her breath as you squeezed her knee, the taller girl huffing and leaning across to kiss your cheek in a silent apology starting the car back up.
with the other two in the car now the time flew past as delilah caught them up on the adventures of your last two weeks away in mallorca on holiday, both girls listening attentively with oo's of wonder.
"hello children." you finally greeted them both with a hug and a smile as you arrived to the grocery store, jumping out of the car as mary ignored them both and unclipped delilah.
"whats up marys ass this mornin? she got blue balls or somethin?" ella whispered with a wink as alessia shoved her with a dissaproving shake of her head. "something like that." you chuckled, marys plans of a romantic night together now you weren't sharing a room with your daughter ruined by the daughter in question refusing to sleep in her own bed and you not making her.
"we can stop the co-sleeping tomorrow. come on baby, family cuddles!" you denied marys request to remove delilah who was already fast asleep curled into your side, your wife sighing heavily but knowing this wasn't something worth arguing.
but a restless night with little feet kicking into her ribs every ten minutes or a tiny hand smacking her cheek and wriggling around meant it was one without much sleep, meaning a very grumpy mary this morning.
"mary. baby come on, your nose is so long its almost hitting the ground." you poked at your wifes side as alessia and ella hurried off ahead, swinging delilah between them.
"only things on the list!" mary called warning the trio as alessia gave a thumbs up, handing the piece of paper to your daughter who was now happily sat in a trolley, the three of them disappearing into the aisles.
"come on earps, give us a smile." you jostled your wife as she grabbed a trolley for your own list. "not in the mood." the goalkeeper warned but made no move to let go as you slipped your hand into hers.
"well, maybe later you can get in the mood." you smiled suggestively, the taller girl looking down at you with a frown. "i didn't invite ella and less just for a catch up. if we buy them lunch and butter them up a little, i'm sure they'd love to take delilah for a sleepover tonight." you quirked an eyebrow, grinning as mary's face lit up.
"my god woman, you're a genius." mary grabbed your face, kissing all over it as you laughed. "yeah yeah tell me something i don't know. i'm offended you seem so surprised!" you poked her accusingly before starting off toward the fruit and vegetables, having given delilah all the 'fun' food knowing she'd whinge about the healthier things.
"mary!" you hissed as her hand caught your ass, your complaints swallowed by the kiss she stole with a charming smile. "it slipped." she winked, reaching over your head to grab a punnet of strawberries.
you were both almost done with your part of the list when you heard a horrendously loud crash the aisle over and winced, sharing a knowing look.
"please tell me that isn't ours." you mumbled, the pair of you slowly heading toward the source of the noise. "i can tell you but you can't get mad at me for lying." mary sighed at the sight which met you, a bright red alessia apologizing profusely to a store employee as ella wiped off delilah who was coated in flower, her own body caked with white as well.
you met alessia's eyes over the employee's shoulder, feeling mary slip her hand back into yours.
"remind me why i agreed to have those two idiots as my other children? "pretend we don't know them?" "darling you read my mind."
"oi you two get back here!"
