On this day 10 years ago, My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way released his debut solo album Hesitant Alien. 👽

It received generally positive reviews from critics and was a departure from his previous band's sound, topping the Ten Essential Albums of 2014 list by Alternative Press. Rock Sound also called the songs on its track list, which included two singles, "some of the best Way has written to date."

Crimes - The Blood Brothers

Today celebrates the 20th anniversary of the release of Crimes. It is the band's fourth studio album and was recorded in their hometown of Seattle. Earlier this year, the band announced that they would be touring for the 20th anniversary along with a reissue of the album.

As we've been putting together the 20th anniversary reissue of ‘Crimes’, what I'm struck by most listening back is the energy. It feels both feral and weirdly focused, like whatever chemistry we'd been tinkering with had finally crystallized. It was on stage, though, where that energy reached its most joyful, reckless, collective state. It's an experience that never really goes away, and one we wanted to share again. So, we'll be playing a handful of shows this fall. We hope to see you there.

On this day 20 years ago, The Used released their second album In Love and Death. ❤

It was certified platinum in the U.S. and is their most commercially successful album to date. It spawned three singles, including the classic emo tracks "All That I've Got" and "I Caught Fire," as well as a cover of Queen and David Bowie's hit collaboration "Under Pressure" with My Chemical Romance as a bonus track on the reissue edition.
