Maho Aku Episode 8 Review - Plans For Christmas

I kind of wish we get to see more shenanigans from the evil organization. Fomalhaut is already a huge cutie. This episode sort of establishes Alcyone and Spica’s characters. Alcyone is effeminate and Spica is chipper and energetic. Bellatrix has a very naughty imagination where she imagines her colleagues or herself in explicit situations. It seems that she has a crush on Mira because she has lewd fantasies about him. I need an entire episode of these guys, seriously.

I can’t believe the Cat Familiar is still a part of Byakuya’s life. He’s still draining her of money and still trying to make her take sketchy jobs. I just hope the angel gets obliterated for good this time around. Though, I cannot deny that his interaction with the Bird Familiar is hilarious because they fight like single fathers over who’s kid is better. While the Cat Familiar is a scumbag, the Bird Familiar is super elitist and looks down on Byakuya’s living style and thinks a poor girl won’t make good food or make a good living. Fortunately, Hibana gives him the finger again when she speaks up and says that food is made from the heart. She’s super wise despite her age.

Because it’s almost Christmas, Byakuya and Mira meet up. The former wants to meet up with the latter and make him dinner because it’s a holiday. Apparently, Byakuya never thought much of Christmas until this year when she met Mira. That’s super cute. I hope he enjoys the dinner date with her!

But yeah, I just want more of the evil organization. There are so many members yet so little screen time for them. Heck, we don’t even know anything about Sadalsuud and Betelgeuse. Are they going to show them or will they be tossed to the side? I guess I’ll have to keep watching the anime to find out. What are your thoughts on this episode?
