Akroma, Angel of Fury is the only legendary card with a morph or disguise ability.
Considering that morph/disguise is a way to make extra copies of legendary cards useful, is there a reason that the more recent sets have not included any with those abilities?
It allows players to accidentally turn a second one face up and destroy it, so we try not to make that happen too much.

Kelly and I were talking about how at their cores, Akroma and Avacyn are not that dissimilar.
Akroma, created for one specific purpose, fueled by her fury and wrath, making her short-sighted and causing her demise and the rise of Karona.
Avacyn, made so she could never overthrow the darkness, causing her demise and the rise of the Eldrazi and later, the werewolf/vampire problems.
Both women, created with one purpose and denied that purpose...
Akroma could never bring Nivea back or truly avenge her, and she ended up being fused into Karona. Avacyn could never truly be the angel she could have been, created with a fatal flaw.

Happy birthday to Akroma, Angel of Fury (V15), who's turning 9 years old today! There's something funny about playing a giant powerful legendary creature as a face-down 2/2. This is actually the only legendary creature with morph (although there are a few with disguise).

Arbitrary Card of the Day 5-25-17: Akroma, Angel of Fury
Today's arbitrary card of the day is Akroma, Angel of Fury. Morph seems kind of random on this alternate reality version of Akroma, but it's a perfect flavor inclusion. Remember, Akroma was created by Ixidor, an illusion mage with proficient skills in morph magic.

For fun, I put together this to represent the Deck of Illusions from Dungeons & Dragons for a game I'm in. I know a deck of playing cards is used to represent them, but this is more fun. That being said, some of these will be a stretch for what they represent. Mainly due to there being no corresponding creature in my collection.

Hi there, I have an EDH question. Let's say I have Akroma, Angel of Fury, as my commander. I also have 3 morph creatures on the board, still face down. If I play Akroma for her Morph cost, can I mingle her among the other morph cards, with the intention of obscuring to other players which morph card is Akroma (to preserve the typical situation in which only the caster knows the identity of morphed creatures)
You can’t do this.
You’re not allowed to obscure the identity of your face-down permanents. Your opponents always have the right to know the order in which they entered the battlefield. This means that they’ll always have the right to know which one is Akroma if you cast her from the command zone.

STUFF
Hurting a lot today. Didn’t get to sleep long enough and just a lot of nerve and psoriasis pain. I’ve got a newer patch on the back of my left leg that is like... burning. Just not a great pain day. I hope tomorrow is less painful. 😔
Today I went grocery shopping for the family. Less people without masks this trip, but more than I’d like (I’d love to see zero).
Snagged some Commader Legends MtG packs. No partner Akroma yet (I really want to make a white/green angel token deck), but I’ve gotten quite a few angels and an Akroma related card. Also got the green partner commander that I wanted. I am so excited for Kaldheim at the end of the month. This set looks so good. I want to make a Toralf, God of Fury deck. Also tons of new angels for standard.
