“Ah, well…” he started, dodging the few slashes and thrusts, even parrying a few of them with light taps from his knuckles. She was pretty good, he had to admit, probably one of the best sword fighters he’d come across. Once again, he was surprised by the oddity of his home plane, where the head of a multi-billion dollar company could also be a multi-planar fencing champion as a hobby, “If anything… I’m at fault for the Phyrexians even knowing about our world. It wasn’t my intent to shine a spotlight on our world. And it’s not like I meant to planeswalk the first time, either. But still, if anyone is at fault, it would be me.”

As she rested her saber, he sighed, “Well… I did tell Aigis that I can’t make any promises on bringing your leader back. Just that… in theory, there could be other ways to seal Nyx. And that his consciousness remains intact within the seal. But I have no guarantee that I would be able to lock something that powerful away again once let out. It’s all theory for now.”

As her secretary approached, he nodded, “We’ll continue at your office, then.”

He turned to face the secretary as Mitsuru walked off, “She mentioned a Sanada, and a friend of hers off at a boxing event. Does she mean the boxer Akihito Sanada? I grew up watching his matches on TV. Seems a lifetime ago now. How did she meet him?”

“What I hope to keep out, miss Kirijo, is the closest thing the multiverse has shown me to pure evil. A force so utterly vile that the death of its creator left a bleeding wound on the face of the multiverse. New Phyrexia, Miss Kirijo, is hell. Plain and simple. A disease that spreads through their glistening oil, stripping you of all that you are and turning you into little more than the newest grotesque cog in their grand machine.”

As he spoke, his movements became less orthodox, seemingly moving slower, but somehow dodging by a wider margin, as though he could tell in advance where her next attack would be aimed. Of course, Mitsuru was good, but Jowi had seen so much in his time out and about in the multiverse. His experience in combat was far greater than any normal man.

“If it wouldn’t be too much trouble, my aim is to try and turn the Metaverse into a kind of shield against Phyrexia. Almost a barrier around Gaia to keep them out. So I need to know as much as possible to attempt this. Or, failing that, I need to gather as many persona users as possible to help face them when they do come.”

He finally stopped dodging, his hand snapping out to snatch the tip of Mitsuru’s blade from mid-air, locking the saber in place with his strength alone.

“Mana on Gaia is weak, Miss Kirijo. And magic would be our best defense against Phyrexian incursion. Barring that, the Quirks of pro heroes would be effective, but ultimately vulnerable to falling into the hands of the enemy should they be touched by the oil. The power of a Persona, however, is a phenomenon that seems nearly entirely unique to our plane. It would be something that they would have little defense against. As my attempts to teach the Phantom Spider have shown me, the magic I use and Personas aren’t… compatible.”
