‣ Got his boy into football at a young age, and is the loudest dad out of them all. He will be shouting to him on the field just like when he barks out orders to rookies.

‣ Always wants to go on fishing trips. Always. I feel like it would be something him and his daughter do more than anyone.

‣ He isn’t big on technology at all. Pretty much just because he just can’t wrap his head around it.

‣ I imagine him keeping up with the new iPhone models, but would not change a thing about them. This man has default everything on his phone (apart from his lock screen of you and the kids).

‣ He is 100% one of them dads that never know what to call airpods.

SIMON ‘GHOST’ RILEY

‣ 3 girls. You cannot convince me otherwise. And he definitely secretly hoped for all girls.

‣ When Simon is home from deployment, they go to him for everything.

‣ Nightmares? You will wake up in the morning to find him missing from your bed, only to find him asleep, half hanging off of one of their beds with his arms round them on his chest, snoring loud.

‣ Simon is so usually on edge, though has learnt to zone his girls out when they are arguing.

‣ “Dad, tell her I’m right.”

‣ “Hm?”

‣ He especially zones out when his oldest girl is talking about school drama. He isn’t listening to a word of it, sat on the living room sofa with his head leant back, eyes shut, humming every so often to make it seem like he is following.

‣ I don’t think he ever shouts. Raising his voice for assertiveness? Yes, but he never shouts at his girls. It reminds him of how his dad use to be with him, and the thought of being even a smidge like his dad really scares him.

JOHNNY ‘SOAP’ MACTAVISH

‣ 2 girls.

‣ He aspires for them both to be bestfriends.

‣ He aspires to be their bestfriends. Like he admires them both.

‣ He will never turn down a tea party invitation. Never.

‣ You’ll be cooking dinner, and have no idea where Johnny is. But you hear distant giggles, and follow them up to your daughters’ room. There, you find your military husband sat at a little plastic table, wearing a tiara, clinking tiny cups together with your daughters and their little bears.

‣ “Well it’s nice to see you again Mr. Snuggles. And who is this new gue- oh, hey lass. Wanna join?”

‣ When they start to grow up, he lets them experiment with make up on him.

‣ And seeing your military husband with sparkly pink eyeshadow on and red rosy cheeks really is a sight for sore eyes.

‣ When on deployment, he will tell any and every story of his little girls to anyone that will listen. He loves to show them off.

‣ This ‘anyone’ is usually Ghost.

KYLE ‘GAZ’ GARRICK

‣ 1 boy.

‣ Definitely has a modern style for his kids. He 100% bought him a pair of adorable tiny airforces.

‣ Is his son’s biggest supporter, in everything.

‣ He is big on praise. The biggest softie ever.

‣ Will put up every single painting his son has made. Your fridge is literally covered in paintings, drawings, pretty much anything made by your little boy, will be put up somewhere in the house.

‣ He vlogs literally everything. More than you.

‣ He watches them all when on deployment, missing you both, usually forgetting about sleep so that he can rewatch his little boy’s first steps for the 100th time.

‣ He also big on getting his boy into his own hobbies. Even though he has no awareness to suitable ages.

‣ You’re on the phone with him one night whilst he is away, as he talks to you about what he wants to get your son into.

‣ “When I’m back I’m gonna take us clay shooting. I reckon he’d like it”

‣ “He’s 2 Kyle”

KÖNIG

‣ 1 girl, you cannot argue.

‣ He worships the ground his babygirl walks on.

‣ He will literally do anything for her. And you, of course. But his little girl is the light of his life.

‣ He loves when he is home because he takes every opportunity to dress his little girl. Every single time he does he is internally screaming at the size of the clothes.

‣ Every. Single. Time. He will come home from deployment with a bouquet of flowers for his wife, and pull out a singular flower before he reaches the door to give to his babygirl.

‣ You are definitely the one wearing the trousers in the household, always having to put your foot down. Because there is no way this man could ever say no to his little girl.

‣ Is always taking photos of the both of you. Always. He isn’t often in photos himself, but will never miss an opportunity to take one of either of you.

‣ When he is home and takes care of your daughter whilst you go to work, he will be sending you videos and photos 24/7 as little updates.

‣ I can imagine him being the driest texter on the planet. Like he is a proper dad, will just send a ‘👍’ or one word answers. So these photos and videos will rarely ever have context. He will just send them randomly.

‣ Is completely unaware of suitable bedtimes for kids. You will spend a night out with your friends, and come back in at like 10pm to find him up with your toddler making pancakes.

‣ “König! She should have been in bed at 7pm!”

Think about it!

Frederick Chase, military historian with a particular interest in the Navy and battleships, not the Airforce and battle planes. A baby is delivered to his doorstep in a wicker basket interwoven with seaweed and pearls, and he rages at the ocean to take it back but receives no answer.

Sally Jackson, aspiring writer and strong woman that has gone through many hardships and battles. A golden cradle arrives at her door and she takes it in without question, unexpected as it is.

The little boy of storm-grey eyes grows up at home, with a loving, if protective, mother and no father, with a scent of books and sap weak enough that it may remain unmasked without causing excessive trouble. The numerous schools he attends are not an attempt to keep him safe, but to find an environment that can cultivate his thirst for knowledge.

When he runs, he learns one cannot survive on knowledge alone, cannot rely on what is already known and true — there is always knowledge to be gained, and truth is never stagnant, no matter how assured one may be in it. He looks at the people around him, potential siblings and friends and enemies, all hurt and hunted, and decides: he will learn all that he can to protect them. He will not lose anyone to his heritage again.

(He doubles his efforts to learn sword stances and archery and horse riding, writes and rewrites plans and strategies, pores over maps and battleplans and hypotheticals over and over again.)

Every University building in Gaza has been destroyed

Al Israa University

Gaza’s youngest university was establish in 2014 in Gaza City. It was scheduled to mark its 10th anniversary this year with the opening of a public museum on Palestinian history and culture.

It’s main building was occupied for 70 days by Israeli soldiers and then destroyed by explosives on January 18th, 2024.

Among the university buildings that were targeted was the National Museum which contained around 3,000 artifacts that were looted and blown up.

Al Azhar University

This university was established in 1991, in south of Gaza City. It offers 76 bachelor’s programs, 24 master’s programs, and doctoral programs.

On 6 November, Israeli airforces bombed the university campus.

There were 16,000 students studying at the university.

Al Aqsa University

Al Aqsa University began in 1955 as a teacher’s institute under the administration of the Egyptian government. In 1991 the institute developed into a college known as the Governmental College of Education. At the beginning of the 2000/2001 academic year, the college was transformed into Al Aqsa University.

On January 22nd, Israeli forces shelled Al Aqsa University, which was operating as a shelter for displaced people at the time.

Islamic University of Gaza

Gaza’s oldest university, founded in 1978, had over 17,000 students by 2023.

Israel destroyed the campus on the night of October 10th, 2023.

The University of Palestine

It was established in 2005 in the south of Gaza City as a private Palestinian institution for higher education. It’s been used to shelter displaced Palestinian families during the genocide.

On January 17th, 2024, Israel detonated more than 300 mines at the university.

Al Quds Open University

It was established in 1991 and was the first open learning institute in Palestine. It has branches in Gaza City, Khan Yunis, Rafah, and Jabalia. It had 60,000 students studying across 19 branches and centres throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, making it the biggest non campus university in Palestine.

Israeli forces turned university buildings into open barracks, before bombing the Gaza branch in November 15th, 2023.

University College of Applied Sciences (UCAS)

The university college of applied sciences was founded in 1998. Its main campus was in Gaza City and over 8,500 students were enrolled in 2023.

It included a donor-funded non-profit start-up incubator that supported entrepreneurs in the Gaza Strip and helped aspiring entrepreneurs turn their ideas into successful businesses.

On January 22nd, 2024, Israeli forces shelled UCAS. At the time, the university was sheltering displaced families.

Love your post on underrated Captain Marvel/Fawcett Comics characters. :) Thinking the Fawcett Comics Characters story potential, how would you use Spy Smasher, Minute Man, Phantom Eagle, or Commando Yank in a modern day Captain Marvel/Fawcett City story?

So It has taken me literally forever to answer this, but I wanted to give it as much thought as it deserved (not to mention I've been swamped lately and needed some extra spoons before I tried).

This got very long, so it's under the cut.

Now these characters you've mentioned have some overlap in their origins/traits/motivations so I think there could be a good story that features all of them coming together to face a larger threat.

So to start off here are some ideas of slightly more modern takes on the characters (assuming they are all in their crime fighting prime at the time of the story rather than the older retired mentors some of them were portrayed as in certain comics runs).

Spy Smasher: A brilliant detective and fighter, Alan Armstrong works with the American government as a counterintelligence agent. He has a public persona as a championship athlete that he uses to cover his movements. I imagine that he is the type to pursue his leads at great personal risk and is willing to go rogue with his information if he believes its the best way to save as many people as possible.

Minute Man: Jack Weston is a highly trained American super soldier regularly sent on secret solo missions, fighting enemies that most don't know exist. He fights against diabolical villains who have managed to keep their illegal operations out of the public eye (unlike many supervillains the JL fights who make a big show of their evil plans).

Phantom Eagle: Mickey Malone is a young aspiring pilot in the airforce. A loose canon and a revolutionary, he regularly disobeyed orders to do what he thought was right, eventually earning himself a discharge from the military. Still eager to join the fight and help others he joined forced with Commando Yank as his pilot and air support.

Commando Yank: Chase Yale is an investigative reporter determined to document human rights violations overseas, often reporting from active warzones. Not content to merely record what's going on, he dons a vigilante costume and fights to protect the civilians.

I think that considering their connections to the government and the military, they should come together as a team because they each have discovered a different piece of an international terrorist plot. I would utilize Captain Nazi as a villain (as they were all initially created to fight Nazis whether America wanted to join the war or not) though he can be working alongside the Mask (the leader of a dangerous spy ring that Spy Smasher often goes toe to toe with).

An example for how this would work (or at least begin): Minute Man is sent on a mission where he faces off against Captain Nazi, barely escaping with his life. The confrontation garners enough attention that the US government has to deny their involvement claiming he acted on his own in an unsanctioned mission.

Around the same time Commando Yank and Phantom Eagle are on the scene where the detonation of an unknown device has caused untold devastation in a small small country (testing of the secret weapon Captain Nazi and the Mask are creating) and as they help the survivors they learn about the weapon and the organization that might have set it off.

Meanwhile Spy Smasher uncovers a lead that the Mask was on the move and planning something big, possibly even getting a potential target. But he is told not to pursue it any further (possibly due to corruption/a double agent working with the villains because he's a neonazi).

Eventually they all come together to stop the terrorist plot. Minute Man gets his rematch with Captain Nazi and defeats him with the help of a gadget designed for him by Spy Smasher. Commando Yank and Phantom Eagle help evacuate the civilians in the targeted area, fighting off the grunts rigging up the weapon and providing a swift exit for the team should things go sideways. Spy Smasher faces off with the Mask while attempting to defuse the weapon/stop it from launching.

I am by no means an expert on any of these characters, but I hoped this made sense. Also if anyone else has some ideas of their own for a modern adaptation of these characters feel free to share in the comments!

I saw the tags about your brother not having 20/20 vision. Part of the inspiration for that Kim headcanon is my grandpa was airforce as well, and didn’t fly bc of vision; he just worked as a mechanic. That’s how I imagine it going for Kim, just maintaining these giant machines that he isn’t allowed to operate. There’s something poetic about the farsighted man who sets his aspirations on the height human engineering can reach.

OK, so who am I?

I am a 16 year old JEE ASPIRANT who has already been 1 year into the prep and has wasted that full year, do you know the reason of it? NO? Nor do I know it's reason.

I was obsessed with AVIATION since childhood, PLANES fascinated me, the time when a kid's favorite show is a cartoon, mine was AIR CRASH INVESTIGATION. PLANES MADE ME HAPPY, they introduced me to the fact that we have become so capable that a average 70-80 kg's human being can't fly in the air but a THOUSANDS OF TONNS OF METAL MACHINE CAN!

So what am I planning to become- SOFTWARE ENGINNER, the reason? My parents....... They think it's best for me and my future, did they ask what I wanted to be? YES THEY DID. But did they support me in becoming that? No, just before the BIG DECISON, CLASS 11, they said I have to study for JEE and peruse ENGINNERING as my career. AM I HAPPY?

Hinami Tachibana is a human. Hinami was born on June 15th (1990s) to Yuto and Emi Tachibana in Tokyo, Japan. She has an older brother named Haruka. Hinami had a normal childhood and teenhold with her family. She went to collage where she began a relationship with a man named Riku but the relationship only lasted for two years. Hinami's traits are Family-Oriented, Neat, Outgoing and her lifetime aspiration is Successful Lineage. She works in the Business career.

Mikasa Nakamura is a human. Mikasa was born on July 2nd (1990s) to Kaito and Ayaka Nakamura. She is an only child. At age 5, her mother was killed in a car accident, leaving her with a single father who soon remarried but had no more children. Her father was strict which resulted in her rebellion against him. At age 20, she moved out of the family home as soon as she could. Mikasa enjoys the night life of Tokyo, going to nightclubs and meeting men here and there.
