cove noticed that felix just didn't use the sunscreen and knows that felix sunburns a little easily so he points it out. felix just pouts a little and cove just understands that "oh he hates the texture of sunblock doesn't he" (in which cove is totally right) so he just takes a minute and offers to put the sunblock on felix instead. felix blinks and begrudgingly holds their arms out for cove to deal with

Coming to the realization that if you take any character on the dream smp and analyze their relationship to c!ranboo or c!technoblade you immediately get this other side of that character or just an interesting pair. Like, what the fuck was burger duo. That was a thing that occured and it had no reason to but it made so much sense and I loved it. Niki and ranboo or Niki and technoblade both offer a great opportunity to learn more about her character and how they may parallel her. Quackity's opinion of Technoblade. Quackity's opinion of Ranboo, especially in NLM. Fucking bedrock bros and the driving influence it had on cTommy's character post-exile. The way these two characters just exist in another person's narrative and immediately become a catalyst of change for them. c!Techno's impact is far more conspicuous as once he has appeared within a narrative the characters begin to talk about and fixate on him as a force of nature. c!Ranboo's impact is more like a fridge horror to anyone experiencing it where their impact is not realized until down the line, or perhaps is only realized by the audience when looking for it. Like. Yeah c!Tommy main character sure yes by way of force. Bro inserts himself loudly into each plotline, but he does not always mesh and becomes more of a cameo in stories that are not his own. He remains an unchangeable force. C!Ranboo is like. Underneath each plotline. They openly receive the meaning of that plot line upon entering it and react quietly and methodically in response to those meanings. He's extremely good at grasping a situation, but no matter how much he is meshed into yet another narrative, he is invisibilized and overshadowed by the other characters involved (and this is by design). There is not a single space that is off-limits to c!Ranboo as dictated by those who inhabit it, but c!Ranboo isn't people's topic of discussion. C!Techno on the other hand tries deliberately to remain on the margins of the plotlines or is explicitly feared in spaces by those who inhabit it, but is constantly involved through mention or incitement to different stories by their respective characters. I don't know man. Like what the shit they're both so incredibly narratively compatible with just about every character on the server (tho not often personally compatible).

The presence of both Techno and Ranboo in Dream's prison escape in combination continued to add such a new and refreshing flavor to Dream lore. And on that note! The way that Ranboo acts around Dream (the real dream) is obviously so fucking *i glitch out of the map*. These twooooooo. ccTechno and ccRanboo really said We Are Writers. We Are LARPers. Observe.

felix & cove centric, however not all of these are completely original— i may have seen a post that has a similar headcanon to any of the ones mentioned.

cove would probably eat lemon slices for fun.

or would visibly cringe at the thought of eating a raw lemon and there's no in-between

felix reverting back into his middle school self or borderline "dudebro" mode when separated from friends, family and cove

like "hey man wassa?" instead of "heeey~ how's you?"

they do it ironically with people theyre close with and unironically with people they aren't close with

felix probably listens to glass animals to an unhealthy degree. favorite album is "how to be a human being"

cove, as most would agree is not that big on music

but consider that he listens to asmr alot? the ambient background noise kind.

obviously he still prefers the real thing over asmr though

cove definitely does enjoy acoustic covers of songs though

ukulele sing-alongs with cove and felix at the porch on a summer day ever since felix taught themself how to play one

felix singing cove to sleep (would recommend, i would like to think felix's voice is very heavenly)

felix, as a kid, didn't really like singing bc their voice did not fit the songs they listened to

they still sang though because its fun

cove seeing felix jam out to their music through his window.

however, when people hear felix sing songs that fit their voice its a whole "oh my goodness what the fuck"

cause it sounds so?? good??? woah.

cove, a good cook with a questionable workspace. or, the aftermath of the workspace in question.

so the basis of the fantasy au, and regarding cove specifically— he isn't entirely merfolk. i intend on keeping cliff as a human, and kyra as the merperson. which explains kyra not visiting often, and cove visiting his mom instead since it's easier for him as a child of both sea and land. then cliff takes cove to shore and they live there instead since cove seems to be completely functional on land and the rest is history :) but either way, they would've ended up living near a beach like the original storyline so maybe the mer x witch pairing isn't so unlikely lol.

the worldbuilding and character details on that miiiiight change in the future, but i wouldn't really know what to do with the au so uh maybe i should start posting fics on ao3...? (/j of course. haha unless?)

for the second question, the painfully obvious pining started at step 2. when it happened? it was either the day when kyra was supposed to go back to nevada, or off screen in the in-between of step 2 and 3 when they were.. 16? how it happens and who asks, is felix— who ends up accidentally telling cove out of tiredness after their performance at, i guess, a school recital? (idk if other schools do this asdjdsjd) this happens in the in-between confession i talked about. for the confession when they were 13? i think we already know how that goes so,

Eeeeeeeeeee!!! Okokok ummm obviously this doesn't have much to do with the game but my favourite question to ask about ocs is in a fantasy au what would they be? And then slightly related to that, if Felix could choose to have a fantasy characteristic (i.e fangs, wings, glowing eyes, etc) what would he choose?

(oh also just want to confirm that he/him is Felix's pronouns?? Really don't want to be getting that wrong)

oooh okay this actually got me thinking. very interesting very interesting,

if felix was in a fantasy setting, i think he'd be (or at least want to be) a witch or any sort of spellcaster- alternatively, if we're talking about a fantasy race he would be something like a magically charged humanoid (? i don't know how to explain that part 💀) but if you were to ask step 2 felix, they'd probably say "tiefling".

if we're talking merfolk au he is going to be a shark. not much reason, other than the fact that felix loves sharks alot.

and about fantasy traits, felix having cat eyes (that probably emit a faint glow) and mini fangs is too cute and kind of a little too fitting to pass up. maybe they'd also have one of those magic tattoos that become animated when a spell is used on it?

Second of all, love the fantasy au, I'm a suckers for fantasy and ESPECIALLY fantasy that involves water powers and witches so, have you thought of a way to how witches would work? also since cove it's half a merfolk does that mean that his water powers are limited?

okay so, for the witches i'll answer that in a separate ask so um, stay tuned?

to make things clear, though (mind that some of these details may change): merfolk are blessed by the sea domain, it favors their kind and gifted children of the sea with passage and healing through it's waters. true merfolk seem to lack the ability to shapeshift, however, and can only manifest and retain a human form through enchanted items like charms and potions. most of the merfolk population has the ability to bend water, though it's more like the water responds to a mer's wishes. in other cases, they're actually more in tune with the aquatic vegetation than they are with the waves. but honestly, merfolk kind of just function like children of poseidon ("percy jackson" wise, books specifically)

as for cove and his magical properties (again, this may change in the future): basically as a half-mer he has the abilites of any other merperson, however his version is watered down*. - even if the waves may not respond to cove as well as it responds to kyra, the sea's healing properties applying to true merfolk do not lessen when you're a half-mer like cove. - being a child of both sea and land dominions, cove is gifted the ability to shapeshift into a (partly) human form. - that more human form of his actually still allows him to be perfectly fine underwater under some conditions. - like, he can't swim down as far as he can in his "mer" form, and also the water's temperature has a bit of an effect on him in comparison to his other form which is abundant with scales.

Magic tattoos, hell yeah!! I know that step 4 Felix has a sleeve (are the flowers poppies or something else?) but does he have any other tattoos? Did I see you mention somewhere a matching tattoo with Cove or did I make that up??

hey stormberrii, i hope youre having a lovely day as well <3 currently, school is kicking me in the ass but while i wait for my pc to restart i will take the time to answer this,,,

other than tending for plants, felix (as also vaguely mentioned in past posts) has a knack for music! as a middleschooler, they picked up drums and electric guitar which then gets switched out for acoustic guitar when step 3 rolls in. he also likes collecting accessories, or anything that's shiny. part of me likes to think that most of the beach treasures they end up taking home is just a crap ton of sea glass. however, out of all of those his favorite hobby is. teasing cove. also yes, i definitely mentioned the "matching tattoos" thing and they are indeed supposed to be the white linen poppies. my initial thought for it is with that "other half" thing cove and the mc has going on, felix got a white poppy tattoo on his left arm to mirror cove's :> (tbh when i thought about it i felt so big brained it was kinda funny to witness)

and finally, no, i don't think felix got any tattoos anywhere else. however, he did get a tongue piercing as a result of poor impulse control 💀
