Note: I’m aware that not all everyone in every community represented on this list considers themself disabled. As an outsider, it’s not my place to say- they are included because some people in these communities do consider themselves disabled, especially with many being spectrums where different people will experience different severities.

Nimona - Amputee main character
Before the Devil Knows You’re Here - Dyslexic love interest
The Spirit Bares its Teeth - Autistic main character, autistic side character

how do you write things like character and setting? I'm no expert but here are some answers - by Sleepy (part 1)
this is not a professional-sounding, nicely formatted post. I'm just going to talk.
INTRODUCTORY SETTINGS:
in your introduction to a setting, it's tempting to either go all out and describe everything visible to give the reader a very detailed experience. it's also tempting to keep it vague to encourage the reader to image things themselves (and because interesting description is hard).
I prefer to go for a middle-ground.
when a character is interacting with a setting that they are familiar with but not the reader, don't have the character think about or visualize something that they wouldn't normally just for the sake of description. instead, have the character interact with the environment.
The Wayfarer’s smelled like wood and wine. Lexi loved it. The lighting was dim, warm, and the walls were paneled a rich cherry. Large lounges sprawled out on either side of the entry hall, but Lexi took them straight through to a desk further down. The man behind it was polishing an antique pistol, his scruffy, gray beard obscuring his face until he look up.
here we have our protagonist entering a place she's familiar with. she mentions a couple things to describe it because she's coming here from some place she doesn't really like, and this in a sanctuary. she notices the setting because she enjoys it, and the reader gets a quick feel for it without needing to be dumped with description.
your characters can notice things in place they're familiar with, especially if it's of the absently appreciating variety. they wander into the kitchen and nearly trip over the footstool that's there for their younger sibling, so they place it back beside the sink and turn to check the fridge. they walk briskly down the street to their favorite coffee shop, avoiding the pothole puddles full of rainwater and ducking around that low-hanging sign the owner of that shop is never going to fix. the more a character interacts with an environment, the more the reader can visualize, and the less they feel like you're just explaining things to them.
flashbacks to particular events can absolutely work if there is something in the current time that triggers a memory. random flashbacks are jarring and should be avoided.
when your character is meeting a setting for the first time, take into account how observant this particular character is, then describe accordingly.
Ree's house smelled like lavender and lemonade.
Aiden breathed in with the slowest breaths he could make himself take, which still sounded like he was hyperventilating. He stood in front of the closed door, shivering and feeling like he was intruding on a private party. From the complete quiet, the house appeared to be empty besides the two of them and he still felt like he was intruding. The entryway was open and to his left was a living room that looked, well, lived in. On the right, a small dining room led to the kitchen. He could just see granite counter tops from where he hadn't ventured from the welcome mat. In front of him, stairs curved upward and a door to the left of them led somewhere else, a basement maybe.
Ree had flung her boots off in an easy, practiced fashion, hanging her coat on a hook and tossing her hat into a basket beneath. She turned back to him with an expectant expression, hands already reaching for his coat which wasn't even unzipped. Aiden fumbled at it with trembling hands, tugging it off his shoulders with a minor struggle. Ree didn't remark on his clumsy hopping to get his own boots off. As soon as he'd successfully placed them beside hers, she was taking his arm and leading him further into the house.
They slipped through the living room and Aiden glimpsed a small room with a washing machine before Ree directed him into the bathroom adjacent. It was spaced out enough that he didn't feel claustrophobic.
Aiden, as a character, is very aware of his surroundings and takes note of inconsequential things because he doesn't like being taken by surprise. He sets the layout of the house in his head because it's the first time he's been here and he's taking it all in.
here's an outdoor description:
Emily nodded and everybody followed after her in the direction Antonio indicated. They headed north, further into the glade and up several short hills, turning sharply when the trees seemed to crowd them together. Mike saw Jayden taking careful notice of their surroundings, and he realized that the forest was only getting denser as they went on. Above their heads, the trees bent over a little, forming a green tunnel beneath their branches. It became clear that they weren’t just in some random glade, but that the trees themselves seemed to be creating a path forward. Faint symbols faded in and out of sight, blending in with the bark so he could only see them out of the corner of his eye. Mike got the feeling that this forest had been protected for a very long time.
this group are exploring and need to be perceptive of their surroundings so they don't get lost. the description happens naturally.
NOTE: when you start writing descriptions of things, they often sound clunky and too obvious, or full of extraneous adjectives. and probably it is how it sounds. it probably isn't very good. but that's because you've just started. you have to keep writing clunky, excessively descriptive scene settings before you can figure out what to trim and what actually helps the reader understand the scene. it's much easier to learn to cut back than to learn to add more. (it might be the opposite for you, but in general, it's easier to have more to work with than less.)
IN-SCENE SETTINGS:
moving on to small, one or two sentence descriptions to fill out a scene. always mention things that the characters are going to bring up in conversation. if character a says "and what about that letter, then? you're not bothered by that?" and the reader has no idea that character b was holding and crumpling it as they stood, they have to redesign their image of the scene.
you can reverse describe things, sure. something is brought up and then gets described, but if you're halfway into a scene and are finally mentioning that the characters have moved from upstairs to the street outside, that's very confusing.
“Erin, did you just get home?” Zan asked her with sleep in his voice, one arm up over his face as he blinked in the hazy candlelight of the front room.
She shrugged her bag off her shoulder onto the stones, the soft huff of its landing sounding louder in the midnight quiet. The rest of the house was silent, save for the crackle of the fire beyond both of them. Zan adjusted to the light and peered at her questioningly, seeming so much younger than his confident, daytime self.
“Why are you awake?” Erin nudged her bag along the floor until it met the others and added to their bag stash in the corner. “I’m fine. I just needed to do something.”
I mention the essentials of how things look right away. the house is lit by candlelight and the fire in the hearth, it's midnight, this place is at least semi-lived in because of the bag stash. it also includes small character notes about Zan's youth.
Bellamy watched as Sage rubbed her knee absentmindedly. His co-leader was currently perched on a wobbly stool with one leg bent underneath her while her fingers ran over the dangling one in a rhythmic pattern. Concentration shone on her face; their plans to reorganize and expand the camp were producing one headache after another and Bellamy was so close to just giving up altogether. It was only because Sage remained resolute about the necessity of reorganization before the weather started to change like the leaves were beginning to that kept him focused.
Autumn was a pretty season, Bellamy had decided, but a dangerous one. The animals around them were restless and moving, it seemed to always rain exactly when they were in the middle of a project and it was far too easy to underestimate the temperature. It was still quite warm, with nights only starting to cool off, but Bellamy knew they only had a few weeks before that cool would be a coldness that didn't fade. He wanted them to be ready, and right now, they just weren't.
Fingers snapped in front of him, startling him to attention. Sage leaned forward in her seat to peer at him with an unamused expression. "You didn’t hear any of that," her voice accused him.
character introspection! an excellent marriage of description - of both scene and character. here we're getting a peek at: the time of year, what the characters in the scene have been doing before the scene started, the emotions of the pov character and the inclusion of callbacks to circumstances earlier in the story.
characters also take notice of things that relate to them, specifically. so for instance, if your character is very sensitive to sounds:
Footsteps appear on the outskirts of his hearing, but Liu Sang figures he’ll open his eyes once they approach the door of the room. The window is open and he can feel a slight breeze tiptoe forward. He shivers slightly, pulling at the blankets. The movement awakens more aches, and when he pulls his knees up a little it brings his whole body into sharp focus.
or if they're sensitive to smells:
Ree tilted her head back, presumably staring at the ceiling. The room was quiet and smelled of grapefruit and honey, an odd combination that somehow worked perfectly together. Aiden breathed in more deeply to let the calming scent fill his lungs.
this is a great transition to talk about character but this post got rather long so this concludes part 1. part 2 about how to describe characters will follow.

My OCs Halloween costumes
HI I KNOW IM LATE BUT THIS HAS BEEN IN MY DRAFTS FOREVER AND I ONLY JUST REALISED I HADN'T PUT IT OUT
Chris Aldine, Magic worker
Tumblr media
He totally did this to piss of Harry since they were going to go together as their roles reserved. Technically magic workers don't have a fixed outfit no matter what humans believe but he totally borrowed it from REDACTED and then along with Sophie and Alex made some adjustments.
Sophie Aldine, Brittney Spears
Tumblr media
While Sophie's style is a bit more laid back, when it comes to dressing up for an occasion you can count on her to come up with the best stuff, and that too right out of her closet.
She was indecisive about it till the very last minute-
Alex had to talked her out of dressing up as the bi flag
Alexia Feyrer and Julian Wayfare, Victorian vampires
Tumblr media
This was Julian's first Halloween and he wanted to go as something fun and unique
Alex does not know how she was convinced into this
"are you going as vampires-"
"VICTORIAN VAMPIRES ALDINE"
"...there's a difference?"
"I wanted something new. How was I supposed to know humans go as vampires all the time?? What's their obsession anyway"
"WE HAVE VAMPIRES AT HOME WAYFARE"
"VICTORIAN VAMPIRES ALDINE."
Alex has left the chat
Aiden Feyrer, Grim reaper
Tumblr media
"You in there buddy?"
"Huh? Oh yeah, hey Soph"
This took weeks of thinking and crafting but it made a bunch of kids cry but that was the best part.He went up to random people and said "Death has arrived"
Harry, Sanctarian
Tumblr media
"WE DO NOT DRESS LIKE THAT"
"Have you seen yourself?"
Originally this was supposed to be a couple's outfit with Chris (him as nightfolk) but betrayal happened. Harry wore it for the rest of the night to piss off old bigots. There are a ton of weapons hidden in there because after all, in Harrys' words, "I have never met a single one of you who didn't have about 20 daggers on your person at all times"
"SLANDER-"

hey :) was wondering if u had some book recs? i’m getting if we were villains and she who became the sun but i’m not sure what else i should read bc i am so picky
i love both if we were villains and she who became the sun! my favorites of the year you could try:
these violent delights by micah nemerever: it explores themes of codependency and queer isolation and loneliness and does that really well
the fifth season by nk jemisin- post apocalyptic sff, it's honestly one of the best pieces of speculative fiction i've read. the worldbuilding character depth, just everything was fantastic
these are if you just want to have fun reads that cheered me up: in other lands by sarah rees brennan(definitely read if you like adam parrish) , wayfarers by becky chambers(everything by her is so soothing), cemetery boys by aiden thomas
also i loved the monsters of eldenhaven by jennifer giesbretch was fantasy horror also just unhinged gay people at our finest
just general favorites i recommend to everyone: the poppy war by r f kuang, on earth we're briefly gorgeous by ocean vuong, and the witch king by he edgmon

So apparently shark on human bites occur like 40 times per year world wide, while human on human bites occur 1500 in New York alone.
And of course my head went straight to Emmet. He’d do love nibbles for sure! Consensually of course. Aiden has gotten used to it but Ingo, freshly back from Hisui, seeing this has his big bro instinct kick in

Trapped by the CEO novel is a romance story about Sydney Rosbak and Alex Reiner.
Blurb : "A contract marriage?" Sydney said aghast. "Yes, it's not the first contract marriage in history. Why are you so surprised?" Aiden asked. "I know, this kind of things do happen but, with divas......like one of the Kardashians, or Amy Irvin, or one of those reality TV stars, not someone normal like me!" He chuckled," thats why I chose you, I like normal." Sydney Rosbak, an art school student and a digital artist had dreams of making it big in the US. She had no idea that she would land in police trouble, and the only person who could save her was Aiden Reiner, Billionaire CEO of Reiner group of industries. Known for his ruthlessness he agreed to help her but at a cost. She would have to become his contract wife for a year. Trapped between the law and Aiden, Sydney had no choice but to agree. The trouble started when she starts falling for his charm.

Aiden
I drove my sleek silver Porsche to the landing field and parked it in the Executive garage. Moments later I was sitting on board my flight. I was on my way back to San Francisco. This had been a sweet deal l. Getting the deal signed was easy. But as expected not everything went smoothly, there were always small obstacles and details that needed to be smoothed out. It was business, so it was nothing unusual. At least I would have time to eat something before meeting with the board of directors back home, and I had discovered that it was always easier to deal with business issues with a full stomach.
The flight would take a while, so, I decided to use that time wisely and catch some sleep. I lowered the back support and leaned against it in a nice relaxing position, closed my eyes and tried not to think of anything at all.
I wasn't sure, but I thought I heard footsteps, and suddenly felt someone standing near me. So, I opened up my eyes and gazed at a gorgeous woman dressed in a tight blue uniform with white cuffs. Her face was elegant and artfully covered with makeup, her black hair tied in a neat bun, she spoke in a low voice. I got the impression that she was trying to make it extra husky.
"Good day, my name is Aliya and I'll be serving you on today's flight. Would you like to have something to drink?"
"Yes, a whisky would be nice," I replied.
She giggled, and looked at me with her deep dark eyes, squinting her eyes a bit as she leaned closer.
"Could I tempt you...with some champagne instead?"
She smiled at me a little too seductively.
I rolled my eyes, Her nameplate flashed in the sunlight, and her words combined with that wiggling hips was a most tempting offer but I was in no mood for playing.
"Just a whisky, please and make sure no one disturbs me, I need to catch some sleep. Thank you." I said dismissively.
"Sure sir," she replied a little disappointed and left me alone.
Aiden Malcome Reiner, aged 28, was one of the most sought after billionaire bachelor of the west coast. His great grandfather who hailed from Eastern Europe had shifted base to the USA a year before World War I. He used the great land of opportunity well and made a fortune by dealings in arms and ammunition, in a legal way of course.
When his great grandfather passed away, he bequeathed his wealth to his only son, Malcolm Richard Reiner. His son who had inherited the same business acumen expanded their business further by, investing in real estates, land, and oil refineries.
Malcolm's son Thomas Malcolm Reiner took over the helm of his empire at the tender age of  26, he had proven to be just as successful in business dealings as his father and grandfather. When he turned 29, he married Aiden's mother, who came from a very wealthy family just like him.  Her family's wealth was almost equivalent to theirs, it was a perfect union. The society magazines had gushed about their wedding for months.
A year later Aiden was born. Even though Thomas was a doting father, and an ideal husband. He was also a man with raving libido, who was trapped in a marriage of convenience.
Gossips about his philandering ways were by no means false. His love affairs were an open secret. His wife was either unaware or didn't care. Whatever might be the case, they never displayed any marital discord at least in public.
When Aiden was 6 he lost his mother in a car crash. Thomas was left free to become a swinging bachelor again.
Within few months of his wife's death. Thomas Reiner announced to the world he was remarrying, this time to a twenty-two-year-old model who was already pregnant with his child.
Old man Malcolm Reiner refused to bless this marriage. He also had a suspicion that the baby did not belong to Thomas but there was nothing he could do about it.
10 years year later when 16-year-old Aiden came home from his school he was informed by his grandfather that his father had a heart attack and had been rushed off to the hospital. That night Thomas Malcolm Reiner passed away in sleep. Leaving behind a young wife, and two sons.
Aiden was still too young to run the family business as he was only sixteen, and old Malcolm had no intention of letting his opportunist daughter-in-law touch it, for he knew she was nothing but a scheming cold-hearted gold digger.
Aiden was bundled off to the finest school in Europe to complete his education and to be kept away from his scheming stepmother. While he was abroad studying, and learning the sly ways of the world, his half brother William was growing up as the perfect spoilt-brat. His mother was teaching him the calculating, scheming ways of life.
When old Malcolm Reiner wasn't watching. William would organize his wild parties at one of their many mansions where booze and cocaine flowed freely.
He had to be bailed several times, by his mother for drunken driving, drug possession or assaulting a hooker. His mother would even pay the media to shut up.
It's not that Malcome Reiner was unaware of his other grandson's erratic lifestyle,  but he chose to turn a blind eye as long as it was kept out of the media.
He was bidding his time for Aiden to return and take over the family business. He was getting old and wouldn't be able to hold for long.
Much to his grandfather's delight, Aiden returned before he hit the bucket. In no time Aiden had taken over the family business. He was shrewd yet fair in his dealings. Older business rivals and friends had nothing but respect for young Aiden.
Standing lean and trim at 6'3" with broad shoulders, snow skier's arms and legs, with a narrow waist. He was every inch of any woman's dream man.
The lush, sleek black hair he groomed so carefully had a rippling quality, a sign of his ruddy health.
The aquiline nose he sported complemented his prominent cheekbones. He possessed a latent, leonine power and always walked with purpose and authority.
People had always remarked that his best feature was his entrancing, wayfarer-blue eyes. Sloe shaped, they could shine as bright as the evening stars when they were a-light with joy. At other times, they could resemble two liquid-blue pools of flashing fire.
A flamboyant character, the room always filled with his sonorous, rumbling voice. He was also quick to crack a joke or fire off a humorous retort when needed. His square jaw with a dimple like cleft on his chin lent a sexy yet dangerous look to his already rugged handsome face not to mention that golden tan he had acquired while taking a well-deserved holiday in the Bahamas or skiing away at the French Alps.
Women would quiver with desire by just looking at him.
He was so caught up in his work that it left little time for something called romance. Like any full-blooded male, he wasn't immune to feminine charm and he did have his share of fun. However, he knew where to draw the line.
Lately, his grandfather had been nagging him to get hitched and provide him with some much-needed great-grandchildren. The old man, Malcolm was afraid that his other grandson, might produce a bastard before Aiden. He wasn't going to let his hard-earned business slip into the hands of his gold digger daughter in law.
Aiden had been cleverly brushing off his requests so far. Relationships or marriage was not for him. Until a chance meeting with a girl changed his life.

Episode 2: The difficult second Playlist
HELLO!
I hope you’re all keeping inside and keeping well.
It’s a sunny Sunday afternoon here in the DJ booth (living room) so I thought, what could be better than playing some banging tunes and recording them to play to literally the entire world? I’ll tell you: uploading some BANG-AVERAGE TUNES FOR VERY FEW PEOPLE TO EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE.
Let’s Begin!
ELVIS PRESLEY - HOUND DOG
Tumblr media
You’ve got to start with a goodie, eh? Can’t really argue with this. And, knowing this is the most rose-tinted of things to say, the crackle and what-not warms the cockles. Which IS nonsense because if I’d looked after it properly it would sound better, but at least I’m honest.
SIMPLE KID - TRUCK ON
Tumblr media
It’s 99p, it’s on sexy blue vinyl, it’s quite good! Don’t remember it at all but I quite like it.
DON HENLEY - THE BOYS OF SUMMER\
Tumblr media
What do I say? An absolute classic. I love this tune. I bought this on CD single when it was re-released round about 2000, and now I discover I have an original complete with a picture of the mighty Don on the front! What a Sunday! He has magnificent big hair like me. The CD single purchase wasn’t wasted though because this one does fade out before the amazing guitar solo at the end. Put on your Wayfarers and get stuck in.
MADONNA - DEAR JESSIE
Tumblr media
You may not realise this because it doesn’t have lovely golden sticker with my name and on address on it, but this is a young Ev purchase, and not just because ol’ Madge is looking pretty cute there on the front of this PICTURE DISC! Fancy! Wend to John Menzies with my mum and got it because it’s brilliant. Loved it then, love it now. Fair play, she’s had some great tunes.
FREDA PAYNE - BAND OF GOLD
Tumblr media
I play in a wedding band called Band of Gold! Saw this classic, it was getting played, simple as that. When they hear our name, people ask if we play the tune in our set. When I say no they ask why. It’s because it’s about a married coupe breaking up. Maybe not wedding appropriate.
MCVAY - CHAIN OF DISASTER
Tumblr media
I saw this, it was getting played. Now I have to caveat this: McVay has done his best, written a song and recorded it, managed to get it released in the mid-80s when it cost an awful lot to do and was super competitive, a total accomplishment. And now, 35 years later, some arsehole on the internet comes along to criticise it and laugh at his mullet. But it is bad. Not crazy bad, just way below mediocre. I googled him to find out something about McVay and if he’s the guy I think he is, he entered Eurovision a couple of times and became a member of a Bucks Fizz spinoff group: THE FIZZ. It all makes sense now. NB. In the song, Andy sounds a right shit.
ADD N TO (X) - PLUG ME IN
Tumblr media
I think this could be the very definition of my cheap, early 2000s 7″ purchases. It’s quirky and OK. Nice to hear again but, well, y’know...
THE SICK ANCHORS - WHOLE AGAIN
Tumblr media
This, on the other hand, is brilliant. The Sick Anchors were Aiden Moffat of Arab Strap and I’m pretty sure other famous musicians, I just can’t remember who! I don’t know if they recorded an Atomic Kitten tune tongue-in-cheek, but regardless, this is excellent and shows that, if it even needed said, Whole Again is a great song. The might Spare Snare also did a great cover of a pop tune that, if I remember, I’ll stick on the next playlist.
WESTWORLD - SILVERMAC
Tumblr media
I only know Westworld from Sonic Boom Boy (which I love) so when I saw this I thought it was worth having a listen to something else. It’s not as strong as Sonic Boom Boy, but the style’s there and I’ll give it another listen.
CRIME - HOT WIRE MY HEART
Tumblr media
I’d definitely have bought this because I love the Detroit Cobras, but for this I thought I’d better try something else so I just put on the first tune. Some dirty, shouty garage rock and roll, and it’s bloody brilliant.
THE 1990 SCOTLAND NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM AND FRIENDS - SAY IT WITH PRIDE
Tumblr media
England got World In Motion and through to a semi-final, we got this and pumped out in the first round by Costa-Rica. As ever it was. This was the first World Cup I properly remember - I remember aspects of 86, but not really any games - and I also remember listening to Simon Mayo on the breakfast show on Radio 1 giving it its first play. I duly bought it to Support Scotland. It’s every Scottish cliché you can think of, everything that made Renton say “It’s shite being Scottish...” but look at those legends, singing away. And, you know, if you can’t trot out the stereotypes before a doomed World Cup campaign, when can you trot them out?
Oh, to have a doomed World Cup campaign to write a cliched song for these days.
Right, that’s your lot. Have a lovely Sunday.

Someone's uncredited gay mermaid shipping art on Pinterest sparked a little rp AU
----------- Emmet is a mermaid/siren, luring sailors with graceful dances and shimmering white scales. No sailor can resist. none but one.
Aiden Wayfare, in this AU, is still a sailor, a captain with his own ship. Said ship just so happens to fall victim to the lure of a group of sirens. Men and women alike are captivated by the songs and displays the beautiful creatures offer, some jump overboard and are torn apart in moments.
All sailors are affected—but one. Aiden is demi and not interested, which frustrates Emmet to hell.
The next storm the ship battles goes catastrophic as there's a crew missing. Captain Aiden gets swept overboard and is now shipwrecked. This gives Emmet a chance to figure out why tf this particular human remained unaffected by his lure.
--
I thought about giving them a train appearance like their canon design has, so I was playing around in the last image there using the german ICE, a fast white train with red markings, as reference

Since there‘s no pokemon in this AU we went with the twins being famous baseball players. It involves throwing balls really hard and with great accuracy (i think?) and even when you have the built of a gazelle you can be really good at it!
They‘re depicted as being unfathomably powerful, I couldn‘t just ignore that in this AU. So through their professional playing they have explosive speed when running, insane agility while going so and are great at hitting small targets with a stick real hard. Don‘t mess with the subway twins!
I think i might have been inspired by @pigdemonart‘s art of them playing baseball.
We thought it‘d be cool if Aiden has been a fan of the twins for some time through listening to the radio during work. He wouldn’t know what they look like and later Emmet wouldn‘t want to boast about it.
