Fall Fun
Fall is probably our busiest season.  Between back to school, fall sports, end of the season fishing and random weekend plans, we rarely have much in the way of free time.

It was a big school year for Brianna, who started middle school, while Ashlynn embarked on her final year before moving on to high school.

In addition, Brianna really started getting into soccer playing for OLG.  And with her speed and agility, she was all over the field as she helped her team into the playoffs.  Ashlynn and I have had so much fun being on the cheer squad.

I love that she is number 5 and wears chartreuse cleats!

Dyan got to be the girl’s guest of honor on Veteran's Day.  OLG was honoring veterans at a special day time mass where the the girls had the chance to recognize Dyan and her service time in the Air Force.

But that was not Dyan’s only fun.  She also bought a new truck to haul all the kids around!  But this truck was not easy to come by.  After covid hit, new car inventories plummeted due to supply chain shortages.  It was not uncommon for dealers in the Twin Cities to not have any new cars/trucks/suvs on their lots.  Dyan was in need of a new truck, but we couldn’t even find one for her to look at, let alone test drive.  So, I did a nationwide search in my attempt to find her a truck.  And I found one, in Cincinnatti,  OH.  A white, 2021 Chevrolet Suburban.  But it wasn’t going to be available for at least 6 weeks as it was sitting in Dallas, TX in a freight yard waiting to be transported via train to the dealer.  We bought it sight unseen.
For weeks, I requested updates from the dealer.  He’d send me pictures of their tracking software showing the truck in Little Rock, Memphis or St. Louis.  It was taking forever...

But finally, In early October, Dyan’s new wheels were delivered from Cincinnati to our house!

With covid still in full force, Dyan was working from home 100% of the time while I was back into the office a couple of days per week.  On most days, I would never see a single other person in a building with space for 1,500.  Quite often, I’d look out in the lonely parking lot on a beautiful afternoon and wonder if anybody would miss me if I cut out an hour early to go to the lake....

I am sure they wouldn’t!  On several occasions before and after work, I did make it to a local lake and found the fall bite was excellent.
