She’s a reminder of what’s no longer there for me to enjoy, I sometimes try and recall your scent, how you laughed and how your skin felt beneath my fingers but the more time passes the harder it becomes. She managed to stand up by herself a few suns ago, which made me jump with joy almost when it happened but then she tried to take her first step and just fell over and started crying, it was like a dagger digging into me when I watched and heard her cry like that, but then she returned to her usual laughter when I handed her the chocobo plush. She’ll be as strong as you, perhaps stronger. I want her to be proud of who her parents are. Me and you, you’ll be a part of her life through stories and these letters. Watch over her and me, please. Reaction to sudden intrapersonal disaster (eg close family member suddenly dies)

I... d-don’t remember reblogging this meme, but ONWARDS!

Defiant... can cope with many things, but intrapersonal disaster is something that she’d... probably be completely unable to swallow. She’s already a tense, anxious woman, and to suddenly have something horrible happen to shatter the safety she finds in her family and friends...

I dunno. I think she’d break?

She might break.

She’d scream and cry and dissolve and fall apart and... simply stop... doing anything to take care of herself. She’d likely... also throw herself into self-harming with alarming enthusiasm. If... she was helped through, allowed to come out the other side... she’d be traumatized, haunted by what happened and likely unable to bring herself to seek help.

Defiant Bride doesn’t do very well with close tragedies, and if she makes it out alive from them it’s a bit of luck.

Pros and Cons of Dating: Roen Deneith

Pros:

She is very honest. Almost to a fault. Not only is Roen very uncomfortable with lying but she is not good at it. At all. Her date doesn’t have to worry about deception.

She doesn’t have huge expectations for a date. Through most of her adult years, she’s led a humble life, so she does not expect expensive dates. She appreciates the small things in life.

She’s a good listener. Roen does not make small talk nor is she prone to talking about herself a lot. She prefers to listen to others, their stories, their trials, and their problems.

She’s very giving. Roen has a sense of fulfillment in giving to others and seeing that their needs are met. She likes to give to those in need and would likely treat her date rather than expect them to pay for her.

She is wealthy. Due to the events of the last few years, she has risen from her life of just meeting her basic needs to having enough to give freely to charities.

She’s very capable of holding her own as a seasoned free paladin. Should things go awry on a date with threats of danger or violence, Roen is very capable of coming to the aid of her date and protecting them. 

She knows the fine etiquette of affluent gatherings. As a child, she was raised in a noble household and certain lessons were drummed into her much to her chagrin. She knows the fine details of ballroom dancing, and how to hold herself like a lady.

Cons:

She doesn’t smile very often. Roen’s one of those people who others might say “You should smile more.” While she doesn’t look mad or irritable, she often looks neutral or pensive. She has a pretty face, but it doesn’t make any attractive expressions very often.

She’s very reserved. She’s not prone to small talk nor does she feel the need to fill occasional gaps of silence even if she’s on a brand new date. If her date is also quiet, it will be a very subdued evening.

She’s a private person. Due to her childhood and also recent events that involved much politics and heartache, Roen does not talk about herself or her life. She would paint a very boring picture about herself with no fantastic tales to share. Finding out details about her will not come easy, at least from her lips.

She’s bit of a prude. Roen likes armor and protective clothing. She grew up as a tomboy and wanted to fight with swords and dreamed of being a knight. While she was schooled in the social graces, she is not the type to wear revealing clothes, or make suggestive comments or conversations. Talks of more explicit things will put her ill at ease.

She’s almost too committed to public service. Even on a date, if she sees injustice being done, she will not hesitate to break off and step in. Her priorities will always be for the good of all over good of one.

She doesn’t enjoy alcohol of most variety. This is because she likes to keep her wits about her. If someone does convince her to imbibe, she does not hold her drink very well and she is fully aware of this, hence her usual sobriety. 

She has a bit of a reputation. Roen did conspire with a revolutionary pirate who waged somewhat of a war against the Monetarists a few years back. While her part was not as public as that of her counterpart,and she was later acquitted of all charges and have gladly stayed out of the limelight since, some powerful Ul’dahns still might remember her.

So the TL:DR of it all is, (What’s this a TL:DR at the very start rather than the end? Gasp!) 

I’d LOVE to break out of RP’ing with the same tiny group of people because I realized while Aeron ICly knows people and I know people OOCly, it ends up being a small circle still and at times little RP to be had because I stick to those same people who at various points are already busy with things or things just don’t continue on after that initial RP or two. Plots wither away etc etc.

Onto the real segment where I explain various hooks and who Aeron is as a man, definetely not a legend and... certainly a superhero because this is FFXIV. Everything will be kept short and sweet or at least I’ll try.

At present this is how one can expect to find Aeron, dirt stained face may or may not be included on discovery! You’re looking at your average height Midlander with an athletic build. Attire can differ from situation to situation.

Some info about him!

Aeron by all means is a people person as much he presents himself to be, most of the time at least. Jokes, smiles and laughs he comes with it all because in some ways he wants people to see him like that and not for the very flawed person that he is. Fighting for your life and for other people can do a lot a person both physically and mentally, and Aeron is no exception. Events pre-stormblood and post-stormblood timeline all play factors in how Aeron has become flawed. But those are things to be properly discovered IC. While he once enjoyed inherited wealth and all the luxury that came with it, he’s more into the dirt as a Sellsword, a twist of riches to rags would sum it about up I’d say.

Hooks?!

Hook 1: The resistance of Ala Mhigo and it’s allies. Aeron since some point of complete siege of the wall Aeron has been helping parts of the Resistance as one its allies, albeit without direct ties to any of the Grand Companies. So if you’re an Ala Mhigan, ally of the resistance that’s one way your character could’ve bumped into Aeron.

Hook 2: Sellsword brothers. Aeron is foremost a Sellsword these days and it’s not uncommon that some contracts require a partnership to complete things with success. One for all, all for coin! So if your character is a Sellsword and needs a partner on a contract, Aeron could be that guy.

Hook 3: A job for the right man. A sort of tie-in to the 2nd hook but more for people looking to actually hire a sellsword to do their bidding for the right price.

Hook 4: Blast from the past.  Aeron hasn’t always been a -nobody-, he has met a lot of people along the way and some he can’t remember, your character could be one of those or simply just someone who has heard of Aeron and is seeking him out for [insert a reason here.]

Hook ???: The reason is all yours. The truth is that Aeron could do with more lasting contacts and I have no real issue tossing him into a plot of someone should they wish him in it, or have him meet people randomly while wandering without any ties to the hooks above. Name: Dawning Bride

Gender: Girl

General Appearance: Short and slim, with long, soft purple hair... lighter skinned than Def, almost the exact same eyes with the blue and green ones swapped! Tends to put on muscle easily, has a short tail and horns but also ears, very few scales, mostly concentrated on her shoulders and upper arms, down her spine.

Personality: Quiet and timid, as well as shy... has a very soft voice and prefers to communicate through gestures or meaningful looks, though only Defiant appears to understand entirely what she’s saying. Pious and dedicated to helping others, and for as gentle as she appears she could punch a hole through a tree without batting an eye.

Special Talents: Trained monk, incredible concentration that’s near impossible to shake.

Who they like better: Def! Mom’s always got her back, and taught her almost everything she knows beyond how to fight.

Who they take after more: Def, pretty clearly... absolutely has that nervous, timid personality~
