La Fayette being a loving Father (Part 1)
La Fayette loved his children madly (he loved children in general, his own children, his grand- and great-grandchildren, the children of friends, âŚ) and since he often was far from home, he expressed this love through his letters and writings. All of the quotes below are from La Fayetteâs letters to his wife Adrienne.
April 19, 1777:
Give our Henriette a hug for me. Take good care of our other child. I hope to be reunited soon with my whole family.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 48-49.
May 30, 1777
Now, dear heart, let us speak of more important things: let us speak of you, of dear Henriette, of her brother, or her sister. Henriette is so lovable that she gives me a liking for daughters. Whatever our new child may be, I shall welcome it with great joy. Do not lose a moment in hastening my happiness by informing me of its birth. I do not know if it is because I am a father for the second time, but I feel more like a father than ever.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 56-60.
June 19, 1777
That letter spoke of everything that is closest to my heart: of my regret at having left you, of your pregnancy, and of our dear children.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 60-65.
June 19, 1777
Write them to me often, please, and make them long. You cannot know how happy I shall be to receive them. Hug Henriette for me; may I say, dear heart: hug our children for me? Those poor children have a father who is something of a rover, but who is basically a good and honorable man, a good father who truly loves his family, and a good husband also, because he loves his wife with all his heart.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 60-65.
July 23, 1777:
Ah, my dear, if you knew how much I miss you, how much I suffer from being far from you, in truth you would find me somewhat worthy of your love. I have no space left for my Henriette--or may I say, for my children? Embrace them, dear heart, embrace them a hundred thousand times. I shall always share those embraces.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 67-6.8
October 29, 1777:
What happiness it would be for me were I to learn that I am a father a second time, that you are well, that my two children and their mother are preparing to make me happy for the rest of my life.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 136-139.
October 29, 1777
I shall find my poor little Henriette a very amiable child when I return. I hope she will give me a lecture [on my silly military adventure], and speak to me with all the candor of friendship. For my daughter will always be, I hope, my best friend. I want to be a father only for love, and paternal love goes marvelously with friendship. Give her a hug, my dear-should I say, give them a hug?-for me. But I don't want to dwell on how much I suffer from this uncertainty; I know that you share the sorrows of my heart, and I don't want to afflict you.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 136-139.
November 6, 1777:
We are now in a season that makes me hope for a few letters. What shall I learn from them? What should I fear, what should I hope for? Oh, my dearest, how cruel it is to suffer from this frightful uncertainty about an event so important to my happiness. Do I have two children? Has a second object of my affection joined my dear Henriette? Hug my dear little daughter a thousand times for me, hug them both very tenderly, my dearest; I hope they will one day know how much I love them.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 142-145.
January 6, 1778:
You should have received by now the letter I sent to you as soon as I heard of your delivery. How happy that event has made me, dear heart! I like to mention it to you in all my letters because I enjoy thinking about it constantly. What a pleasure it will be to embrace my two poor daughters, and have them ask their mother to forgive me. You must not believe that I am so insensitive, dear heart, and at the same time so ridiculous, that the sex of our new child has diminished in the slightest my joy at her birth. We have not become so decrepit that we shall need a miracle to have another child.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 222-226.
February 3, 1778:
You will already have received several letters in which I speak of the birth of our new child and of the joy this delightful event has given me. If I thought that you suspected this satisfaction suffered some diminution because our Anastasie is only a daughter, in truth, my dearest, I would be so angry with you that for a few minutes I would love you only a little. Ah, dear heart, what a delicious pleasure to embrace you all! What consolation to be able to lament with my other friends the one I have lost.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 273-276.
February 3, 1778:
Farewell, farewell, dear heart, embrace our dear children. I embrace their charming mother a million times; when shall I find myself again in her arms?
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 273-276.
March 7, 1777:
I am always distressed when I leave you, even in writing, and it is my cruel star that keeps me moving constantly and which I must blame when I do not see you even a sixth part of the time that I would truly like to see you. But you know my heart, or at least its sincerity, and you will believe me, I trust, always, when I assure you that it loves you forever, with the strongest and most tender affection. Kiss our dear Henriette twenty times for me.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 26-28.
December 22, 1777:
Dear heart, I shall content myself with repeating to you here, with a pleasure that is always new, that I love you with an inexpressible tenderness, that I love you more than ever, and that I hope we shall be happy all our lives in our mutual love. I embrace our two dear daughters thousands of times. Tell them that their papa loves them madly, as he does their charming mother. You must believe that I shall not lose a moment in rejoining you as soon as I can. Farewell, farewell, I embrace you ten million times.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 198-199.
March 16, 1777:
Good-bye, good-bye, write to me often, every day. Embrace our dear Henriette. And, moreover, you are pregnant, all of which adds to my torment. If you knew how painful this is, you would surely be more sorry for me than you will ever be. To add to my misery, the people I love are going to believe that I am quite happy to leave.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, p. 33.
May 30, 1777:
Your grief, that of my friends, [your pregnancy,] Henriette-all came to my mind with a terrifying vividness. It was then that I could find no more excuses for myself. If you knew everything that I have suffered, dear heart, during the sad days I passed in flight from everything that I love in the world! Must I add to this the unhappiness of learning that you do not forgive me? In truth, my dear, that would be too much to bear.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 56-60.
October 1, 1777:
You must become my voice, dear heart, in all that you say for me to Henriette, my poor little Henriette; hug her a thousand times, speak to her of me, but do not say all the bad things about me that I deserve. My punishment will be not to have her recognize me upon my arrival; that will be the penance Henriette will impose upon me. Has she a sister or a brother? It does not matter to me, as long as I have the pleasure of being a father a second time, and I hear about it soon. If I have a son I shall tell him to examine his own heart with care. If he is at all tenderhearted, and if he has a wife whom he loves as I love you, I shall advise him not to be carried away by enthusiasms that will take him away from the object of his affection, for that affection will then be the source of a thousand torments.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776â1790, Volume 1, December 7, 1776âMarch 30, 1778, Cornell University Press, 1977, pp. 114-119.

romance book recs!!
romance is my feel good genre, and itâs also usually somewhat easier to read during stressful times, so hereâs a list of some books that are either romance or have a romance element i feel like mentioning.
(EDIT: I STAYED UP TILL 2 AM DOING THIS HELP. this is why some of the comments. donât make any fucking sense.)
romance books and authors:
CONTEMPORARY:
1. The Bromance bookclub series by Lyssa Kay Adams (A group of men form a bookclub dedicated to romance books in order to understand women, improve their relationships and become better men. Itâs funny, cute, and all about dismantling toxic masculinity one romance book at a time)
2. Mariana Zapata books (The queen of slowburn romance. The only book Iâve read by her is âUnder Lockeâ, but âFrom Lukov with loveâ and âKultiâ have rave reviews. There is so much build up and SO much sexual tension with a great pay off)
3. Milly Johnson books (A uk author whose books are primarily set in the north, these are total feel good books. Not so much graphic and more romantic, but her characters are great and her plot lines really hook you in.)
4. The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren (Super cute, quick enemies-to-lovers story about a bridesmaid who has to go on a honeymoon with the best man when the bride and groom get food poisoning. Obviously this means the holy of holies: fake relationship!)
5. Well met by Jen De Luca (Oh my gosh! Super fun, the characters are just wonderful especially our heroine. A hate-to-love romance set at a renaissance fair! All about overcoming the limits you set on yourself and rethinking your first impressions.)
6. Katherine Center books (My personal favourites are âHow to walk awayâ about a woman who falls for her PT after a near fatal plane crash. And âHappiness for beginnersâ about a woman taking part in a wilderness trail with her brothers annoying best friend. She writes such great plots and you really feel all the emotions!)
7. Mhairi Mcfarlane books (my personal favourites are âHereâs looking at youâ about a woman who comes face to face with her high school bully years later - only he doesnât recognize her. And heâs not awful? Donât worry. I know how that synopsis sounds. Heâs not excused his actions, but you also understand how heâs grown and changed. It definitely gets you in the feels though. As does âYou had me at helloâ Which is about a couple from university meeting again years later. God this woman can write angst and yearning!!)
8. A part of me by Anouska Knight (On the same day she and her husband have been accepted into the adoption process, their marriage implodes. This has such a cute romance which follows hate-to friends- to love and itâs v funny)
9. Southern Eclectic series by Molly harper (Just as it sounds. Southern small town romance with a great, quirky cast of characters)
10. Maggieâs man by Lisa Gardner (writing as Alicia Scott) (An escaped convict kidnaps a woman from the courthouse to act as his hostage whilst he tries to prove his innocence. Surprisingly funny and warm. Maggie as a heroine is an absolute joy. Theyâre sort of chaotic together and itâs a wild ride.)
11. The Mister by E.L James (LISTEN OK - SIT BACK DOWN - Itâs not winning awards but itâs actually decent! I was skeptical, but I will admit I was won over. I mean parts are cheesy but itâs so addictive. Basically a rich man falls for his cleaning lady - but itâs also about the yearning. Itâs also quite action packed as thereâs danger, drama and a chase across europe to get the girl.)
12. RECENT Colleen Hoover (Now, you may enjoy older CH books. Personally I find them very problematic. Now Iâve really enjoyed her recent books though. Especially âWithout Meritâ and âIt ends with usâ and âRegretting youâ. High angst, high drama, dark topics for all of her books. But you can tell sheâs matured with her writing. She isnât for everyone but theyâre addictive, fast paced reads.
13. The Austenland duology by Shannon Hale (You might have seen the Austenland movie - The cutest, cheesiest, sweetest, campiest movie ever. Well thereâs a book! Itâs about women who go on a holiday and live their own Jane Austen story with actors. The first book leans towards Pride and Prejudice and Mansfield park. The second book is more Northanger abbey and Emma.
14. Brigid Kemmerer contemporaries (She is an auto-buy author for me, especially her contemporaries. She writes the best teenage characters, the best teenage boys Iâve ever read about. Her characters are real, she writes about kids trying their best, struggling, and being good, and kind, and the world not being kind to them. Usually the books have a pov from both the female and male love interest. I would rec any of them tbh. âLetters to the lostâ comes before itâs companion novel âMore than we can tellâ. I loved âCall it what you wantâ with has modern Robin Hood elements!!!! seriously she is my favourite YA contemporary author.
15. Sophie Kinsella books (If you havenât picked up her stand alone novels then what are you doing???? she is the queen!!!! Personal favourites are âCan you keep a secretâ and âIâve got your number)
16. A quiet kind of thunder by Sara Barnard (I love her ok. Her books are short and sweet but she packs a punch. TBH these arenât primarily romance, theyâre more just about teenage girls but this one has a good romance element so Iâm putting it on here. Itâs about Steffi, a selective mute who sometimes communicates with basic sign language who is assigned to look after the new boy at school Rhys, who is deaf.)
17. Meet me at the museum by Anne Youngson (GORGEOUS! moving, tender. A lonely housewifes strikes up a correspondence with a widowed museum curator in Denmark. Oh gosh. I just love this one. Itâs about friendship, love, grief, second chances, the choices we make. Seriously love this one and itâs not that long.)
FANTASY:
1. Sorcery of thorns by Margaret Rogerson (Elisabeth has grown up in the great library, protecting grimoires with powers and fearing sorcerers. When a dangerous grimoire is released, sheâs forced to team up with an enigmatic sorcerer and his demonic servant in order to save the world.)
2. Sky in the deep duology by Adrienne Young (A viking inspired story about a warrior who is captured by the tribe she is at war with. Such good tension and itâs also got a lot of action. Battle couple romance! Mutual respect! Hate to love!)
3. The Rose Garden by Susanna Kearsley (Iâve reread this book once but will end up reading it again. Itâs a time travel romance about a woman staying in cornwall dealing with the death of her sister who is transported back and forth to the 17th century. Itâs a favourite. The romance is wonderful but the stakes are really high too. I also love âBelleweatherâ by the same author)
4. An ember in the ashes series by Sabaa Tahir (Oh god, the romance. THE ROMANCE! itâs so much. The angst, the pining, the longing. The first book follows Laia, part of a slave class in a roman inspired world. She begins spying in the top military academy and meets Elias, a reluctant soldier. This is a proper fantasy series with only the first three books out, but itâs so great.)
5. Alias Hook by Lisa Jensen (Let me just copy the blurb ok:Â âMeet Captain James Benjamin Hook, a witty, educated Restoration-era privateer cursed to play villain to a pack of malicious little boys in a pointless war that never ends. But everything changes when Stella Parrish, a forbidden grown woman, dreams her way to the Neverland in defiance of Pan's rules.â I MEAN COME ON. a gorgeous adult fairytale with love and redemption at the center.
6. The Mediator series by Meg Cabot (Obviously Meg Cabot is the most iconic and we stan. But this series is my absolute favourite by her. About Suze Simon, a kickass, no nonsense mediator - Someone who helps ghosts move on to the other side. Sometimes by force. She has to move house and ends up sharing her room with a 100 year old hot ghost named Jesse. The tension. The angst. THE BANTER!!!!)
7. House of Earth and Blood by Sara J Maas (a half fae half mortal girl tries to solve a murder with the help of a fallen angel. Itâs a LONG book, but for me personally it flew by. Itâs a big new fantasy world but the romance has a great build. Overcoming grief! Being normal together! Being in danger together! THE UST! the characters are so good. I ahvenât been this impressed by a new series for a while)
8. Cursebreakers series by Brigid Kemmerer (yep, she gets another mention. This one is a beauty and the best retelling about a man forced to relive the same season over and over, becoming a literal beat, until a girl from our world can break the curse. The second book, following secondary characters, is my fave so far. But both feature kickass ladies and those small romantic moments BK is so good at)
9. A court of thorns and roses series by Sara J Maas (a fae inspired beauty and the beast retelling. The only time you support a ship switch. Also the secondary ships are getting their own books and oh my god. Iâm so excited.)
HISTORICAL/CLASSICS/MILLS AND BOON
1. Jane Austen (The original rom com queen, obviously. Pride and prejudice and Emma are faves. Also I have a major soft spot for the alwayc chaotic and underrated Northanger Abbey)
2. North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell (Actually might be my favourite classic ever. Often described at an industrial p&p. Margaret, from the south, comes face to face with the harsh reality of the world when she moves up north and comes face to face with a brooding millowner. Thereâs obviously a lot more nuance than that but. THE PINING!!!!!! THE MISCOMMUNICATION! THE DRAMA!)
3. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer (You might have seen the film. Please also read the book. Told entirely in letters. The sharp witted author Juliet Ashton falls in love with Guernsey and itâs characters whilst researching what happened there during the war. Funny, moving and romantic.)
4. The Veronica Speedwell series by Deanna Raybourn (A butterfly hunter foils her own kidnap and is paired together with a reclusive natural historian. They solve mysteries together. They canât admit they wanna sleep together. The tension.......unbearable. See also the Julia Grey mysteries by the same author)
5. The warrior knight and the widow by Ella Matthews (So last year I discovered Mills and Boon and I have no shame about it whatsoever. This is a medieval beauty and the beast retelling about a woman being escorted to her fathers estate by an enigmatic and scarred knight. Sheâs hoping to convince her father to let her steward her own lands, and of course trying not to fall for her escort.)
6. The bareknuckle bastards series by Sarah Maclean (A badass, brooding trio of siblings who rule the underbelly of Covent Garden fall for smart, beautiful women. Opposites attract, Good girl/bad boy, strong women, banter. Super fun historical romance)
7. Redeeming the reclusive earl by Virginia Heath (I just read this and it was seriously cute!!!! And book where the hero blushes even once is a good book in my opinion. Basically aspiring antiquarian named Effie barrels into the life of a new earl - who really just wants to be left alone to be grumpy and sad and disfigured. ALONE. But Effie wants to dig on his land. And she wonât take no for an answer. She also talks A LOT.
8. A family for the widowed governess by Ann Lethbridge (Technically this is part of a series but you donât need to read them in order and this is the best one. A widow who is being blackmailed accepts a governess post. She canât tell her employer about the blackmail especially when she starts falling for him.)
9. The bedlam stacks by Natasha Pulley (I read watchmaker and didnât like it but you might like it. This one also FEAUTRES A M/M ROMANCE. I know this list was super straight im sorry. Anyway this is about a botanist falling in love with a priest in the jungle.
10. The wilderness series by Sara Donati (Think outlander without the time travel and also not set in scotland. Basically Last of the Mohicans fanfiction about Hawkeyeâs grown up son. An english woman moves to america when her father promises she can be a school teacher there. Little does she know he actually has plans to marry her off. Things get more complicated when she falls for Nathaniel Bonner, a white man raised native american and whoâs daughter and extended family is Native American. Like outlander thereâs romance, adventure, history. But unlike the outlander books the love interest is a decent guy (i say as if i donât love the tv show)
STUFF THAT REALLY ISNâT ROMANCE AT ALL. BUT I SHIP A SHIP.
1. The Lacey Flint series by Sharon Bolton (Lacey Flint is a police officer who becomes involved in the hunt to catch a Jack the ripper copycat. There actually is a strong romantic element with the other lead police officer.)
2. The last hours duology by Minette Walters. A novel about the black death and a closed estate lead by a woman whoâs trying to protect her people. Thereâs also a kind of murder mystery. But she also has a close relationship to one of the surfs that I got super invested in.
3. The Strike series by J.k Rowling (I know we donât stan anymore but. This series about PI and his assistant slowly growing closer? Becoming best friends and partners? Not acknowledging any feelings for each other?

BACKSTORY â
apart from a few years at yale, siobhan has never lived away from moorbrooke. itâs where she was born, itâs where they were raised, itâs the place where she feels most at home. itâs filled with the people who watched them evolve into the who they now confidently are. but growing up with parents with massive expectations was never easy.Â
because while they moved from new york, severin blakeâs old money attitude never left him behind.Â
( tw: fertility struggles )Â and with old money, conservativism often follows. this is no exception. siobhan spent most of their childhood trying to be the golden child their parents wanted, even when it felt wrong. hopeful that some other sibling would come to take some of the weight off their shoulders, it never came to fruition, and she was their only child. severin blake â french-american businessmanâs â only legacy.
siobhan was always more compassionate than their parents. when new people came to the town, she would always try to offer them a leg-up, no matter who they were, why they had come, or how long they were planning to stay. they had no issue playing chameleon to make others comfortable: wasnât that what sheâd always done, regardless?Â
this rang true when alante patterson came to town. a few years younger than her, split from her siblings in the foster system, it just made sense for siobhan to try to be the other girlâs constant. the beginning of a close relationship that still runs stronger than ever, thirty years later.Â
alante was always refreshingly honest, and always made siobhan feel safe to be . . . themselves, even if they were pretending to everyone else.
siobhanâs chameleonic tendencies made them highly popular as a teenager, her parentsâ pride and joy, but the latter half began to fail when siobhan began to understand â began being operative, as it was a process that took them many years â their curiosity about their sexuality and gender. this relationship, and her parentsâ desire for them to hide this evolving part of themselves, was a behind-closed-doors battle which led to anxiety & depression.Â
a vicious cycle, because the attitude to mental health on severinâs part was also quite . . . medieval, and ciara certainly never intervened to stop him.Â
( the blakes had always been protestant, though siobhan was reluctant to take part in any acknowledgement of such. siobhan has considered themselves agnostic since the age of thirteen, though she supports her wife in her faith as much as she can. )
siobhan came out when she went to yale at the age of eighteen, and her experience had been mixed. college took her away from her friends, estranging them from their high school friends and temporarily moving away from alante. when they returned from college studies and took up a job as an english teacher at the local highschool, her best friend was . . . married.Â
which made feelings that began to blossom particularly problematic. especially when over the years that followed, no matter how hard they tried to let it go, those feelings persisted. and â eventually â became an affair so passionate that alante left her husband for siobhan some thirteen years ago.Â
their relationship with alante is what made them truly decide to â and make them able to â exist fully as themselves. who they wanted to be. so now, theyâre not quite as chameleonic, but sheâs endearing to the people who are truly interested in her and thatâs all that matters, isnât it? ( isnât it? theyâre still learning, though they pretend the self-doubt is entirely gone. )
this part of their town-iconic relationship is not public knowledge, and thankfully never came to siobhanâs parentsâ knowledge before their deaths five and seven years ago.
siobhan and alante married as soon as possible in 2015, but siobhan always had a dream of washington politics, buried for many years because the political climate of their youth would never take them. now... itâs possible, but alante likes this life, this town, their two cats, and wants to have children.Â
as a compromise, siobhan ran for mayor of moorbrooke this recent cycle, and won. but hereâs the kicker: will it be enough for them?
CONNECTIONS â
family: while she has no siblings, she does have cousins on ciaraâs side, so if youâre interested in that then feel free to let me know & weâll explore it! i love a good family tree, especially in town rps where i imagine it a bit more interconnected like broadchurch !
family-esque: if your muse has been living in moorbrooke a while, itâs likely siobhan knows them quite or very well. you know those people you call your aunt/uncle out of respect because theyâve been friends with your family as long as you can remember? a bit like that! itâs also a habit because siobhan has been . . . distant from her own family since she was a teenager. they never outright disowned them for what they were calling their â ideas â â i.e. being non-gender conforming & lesbian â but their disapproval was... clear enough. she doesnât want anyone else to feel like theyâre without support.Â
therapist friend: the thing about siobhan is that they are the ceo of telling other people to look after their mental health while letting their own degrade. ( see: she canât help taking on other peopleâs problems & wanting to solve them. )
high school it squad: yes, this is my not-so-subtle way of pleading for more older muses here. these people were siobhanâs friends when they were trying to be who everyone wanted them to be, not who she herself wanted to be ; they were the popular clique, and she adjusted herself as necessary to â ringlead â them. iâm thinking they split up when they all went to college, and the rest of them have only just come back to town. the siobhan blake theyâre going to meet is . . . very different than the one they once knew. someone who is now comfortable ( at last ) unapologetically in their own skin.
ex-student: if your muse was in high school in moorbrooke anywhere during their tenure itâs likely that siobhan could have taught them! she was the emotional support english teacher. sapphics, you know what i am talking about.Â
ingenue: someone interested in politics who siobhan is sharing their passion with !
neighbours: anyone who lives in elmsett court, who wants to live next to moorbrookeâs favourite sapphic it couple? it comes with invitations to dinner and two adventuring cats called vita & virginia that they might have to retrieve from your house.
TAKEN CONNECTIONS
confidante: the only person, aside from alante, who knows the truth. that siobhan and alanteâs relationship first ignited in a blazing, letter-ridden extramarital affair, eventually resulting in alante leaving her husband all those years ago. the person siobhan confides her worries in, sometimes. How long had you been talking to Sonny? It seemed like ages but in reality it was only a few weeks, and though you felt such a connection you found yourself feeling a little off put by how little you knew about the man. All you had surmised was that he was a lawyer, he was intelligent, he had a big family and he was Catholic. Sure, that was enough for some people to elope with, but you felt like you needed more. He felt like he was too good to be true.Â
When he invited you out to celebrate a friendâs birthday, you had to accept. It was your chance to learn more about your new friend - and while you were borderline miserable with just being friends, you knew it was for the best. It hadnât been very long since youâd finally let go of your ex-husband.Â
The evening rolled around finally and you found yourself gazing into the mirror, picking at your perceived imperfections. Patchy, dry skin, chapped lips from not having the time to stay hydrated during the last few insane days at work, your hair looked like it needed a gloss treatment and most of all, you looked like you were nervous.Â
Well, good, because you were. Incredibly nervous.Â
Sonny picked you up from your apartment around 7 and greeted you with a kiss to the forehead.Â
âYou look amazing,â he complimented, eyes wandering from the top of your frame to the bottom, then back up again to settle on your face. âGorgeous.âÂ
An involuntary and embarrassing blush crept onto your cheeks and you stammered out your appreciations. âWe should get going, yeah?âÂ
The twenty minute ride to the restaurant was quiet but not uncomfortable. Youâd grown to appreciate the fact that you didnât always need to have something to say with Sonny. It was the kind of thing youâd only fantasized about in the past. With Luca, you were constantly concerned he was going to find you boring and you tried your damnedest to keep him tricked into the idea that you were fascinating and absolutely his type. Looking back, you cringed at the amount of wasted time.Â
âHere we are,â Sonny nearly whispered, parallel parking a block down from the bar. He placed his hand tenderly on your knee after he shifted into park and looked at you with sincere concern.Â
âWhat?â you asked as you met his gaze.Â
âYou look terrified,â he said and bit back a laugh.Â
You shrugged, but didnât disagree. âUsually when I meet new people Iâm wearing a surgical mask and their mouths are usually wide open with limited communication skills. I guess I donât get out a lot,â you admitted with a chortle.Â
âEveryoneâs going to love you, Y/N. Who wouldnât?â His rhetoric was followed by his exit from his car so that he could open your car door and help you out onto the sidewalk. âCâmon, I want to show you off.âÂ
Several of Sonnyâs friends were already seated at the table, though as you approached you realized that the reserved area was more a free for all, and people were roaming about the secluded room with drinks in their hand, socializing.Â
âAmanda, this is my friend Y/N. Y/N, this is Amanda. We used to work together. We still do, just in a different capacity,â he explained as you shook Amandaâs hand and smiled at her.Â
âItâs nice to meet you, Y/N. Sonnyâs had a lot of really nice things to say about you, so Iâm hopinâ theyâre all true,â Amanda said with a short but kind laugh and released your hand.Â
âOh god, I hope he hasnât been lying then,â you replied and laughed, shaking your head at Sonny.Â
Amanda and Sonny chatted for a few moments and you wandered away, over to the table that had pre-poured glasses of champagne and trays of delicate treats that you couldnât quite name.Â
You had to admit that it was nice to see Sonny in his element, talking to his friends and coworkers, laughing and showing how natural it was for him to communicate with people. For a while you had felt like maybe you had a strong connection with him, but now you were realizing that he was honestly just a nice guy. It stung for only a moment, giving you time to realize that this wasnât about you - it was about Sonny, and you were here with him because he asked you, because he wanted your company.Â
Relief washed over you as the champagne coated your throat and left you feeling warm.Â
Time passed on and you were introduced to several other people that were there to celebrate the birthday of their shared friend. You met a few lawyers, a few detectives, police officers from Staten Island, and a few people from the gym that Sonny frequented. It was a nice mixture of people and you were happy to see how well everyone was getting along.Â
At nearly 9PM, the doors to the party room swung open and a gorgeous redhead strolled in on the arm of a man who looked like he probably visited the gym more than anyone should. By then, you were feeling a little fuzzy and had found yourself much more sociable thanks to your three glasses of champagne. Even your abundance of alcohol couldnât trick you - you had to take a second look at the couple that just walked in.Â
âAdrienne! Luca! You finally made it! Happy Birthday, Adri!â The chorus of celebratory comments filled the room and confirmed your nightmare. Your ex-husband was the date of the birthday girl, the woman that Sonny worked with several times on different cases. Of course, it all made sense. God was playing a dirty trick on you and you couldnât think of an excuse quick enough to get away.Â
âY/N!â Sonny called out and grabbed your hand, pulling you towards the redheaded bombshell and her obnoxious date. âI want you to meet my friend Adrienne, sheâs based out of Brooklyn but sheâs one of the best paralegals Iâve ever met.âÂ
Adrienne extended her hand and you took it, shaking it firmly. âSo nice to meet you, Adrienne. Iâm Y/N. Happy Birthday!âÂ
She smiled and pulled you into a hug. âThanks! Iâm so glad to meet you!âÂ
From your embrace, you felt eyes staring into your soul. Luca was fixated on you.Â
âLuca, man, so glad you could be here tonight!â Sonny said and half embraced Luca in a manner that was befitting of two men who seemed to be a lot closer than you could have ever imagined.Â
âThanks so much for helping me get this shit set up, Sonny. And hey I know itâs been a while but I wanted to say thanks again for getting that Yankees stuff for me and leaving it at the gym. I appreciate you. I can cash app you if you want?â he asked, holding up his phone and giving it a small shake.Â
You couldnât believe what was happening.Â
Someone was playing a trick on you, but you werenât quite sure who it was. Fate? Luca? God? Karma?Â
All you knew was at that moment, you felt like you were going to burst into pieces of divorcee shrapnel and slice through your ex-husband if you didnât make an escape.Â
âLuca, I want you to meet my friend Y/N,â Sonny said and turned on his heel, pulling you protectively to his side with a squeeze.Â
Lucaâs eyes widened and he smiled, grabbing your hand and pulling you against him to embrace you. âAny friend of Sonnyâs is a friend of mine, Y/N. So nice to meet you,â he said with such a thick faux friendliness that you wanted to scream and hurdle him out of a window.Â
You felt the urge to vomit come and go, and pushed yourself away from him with a stumble. âIâm so sorry, Iâm not feeling very well. Nice to meet you. Excuse me, please.âÂ
Your eyes roamed the room and you settled on the exit that lead to the back of the restaurant before dashing away. Blinded by your own tears, you tore through every door until you found yourself standing in the back alley of the restaurant as the door shut and locked with a loud click behind you. Great you thought to yourself. You shivered and berated yourself for not wearing something with more coverage as you pawed at the skirt on your dress to pull it down lower. It didnât matter, you told yourself. It didnât matter at all. It was far better to have to take the long way through the alley to get home than to go back inside and deal with the monstrosity that was waiting for you.Â
Grumbling, you walked back down behind the restaurant towards the main street. The subway was only a few blocks, and you were a true New Yorker now anyway - your heels had stopped hurting your feet hours ago.Â

Brain Training For Dogs Review: Does It Really Work?
Hi, my nameâs Rachael Summers! and Iâm a proud parent of my Golden retriever (Bella) and border Collie (Trixie).
Today Iâll be reviewing the brain training for dogs course that I have personally purchased and tested with a 6-month Golden retriever.
I hope that by the end of reading this post, you will easily be able to make a clear decision on whether this course if for you.
By no means am I a professional like the other online âclaimâ to be. Nope! Iâm just a regular person like you, that was looking for a way to sort out my dogâs behavior. Anyway, enough of me rambling on! Letâs get into what you came forâŚ
The Reason I Purchased This Course
When I first got my dog Bella, she was a complete nightmare. Iâm sorry to say, but her behavior was just terrible. She would run down the street, fight other dogs and chew up just about everything around the house.
To make things worse, I had my husband in my ear telling me that we would need to get rid of her, as it was more hassle than its worth. Havoc, would be an understatement!
Iâm pretty much sure that things were a little more severe with my dog than you would usually expect with a 6-month golden retriever. Anyhow, its the very thing that led me into looking for a fix, which leads me onto the next point of how I came across this course.
How I Came Across This
First thing I did was like any normal parent would do, I phoned up local dog trainers and consultants to see what kind of services they offered. Which didnât work out well at all, as the prices they were coming out with were absolutely horrendous.
I mean, how can you charge over $500 to $1000 to train a dog. Hey ho, thats my opinion and I guess others who can afford it would happily pay it. That led me to phone up a few friends and asking where I could potentially get some help for cheaper.
And the same thing kept coming up every time, âwhy donât you try onlineâ. So I did, and thats what led me to find this course as I read a few blogs that suggested it, so I decided to take the plunge and test it out.
Who Created This Course?
Before I bought the course, I did do a little digging to find out who this trainer was, but I didnât really see much. Supposedly, shea very highly reputable dog trainer as the reviews I did see, recommended her a credible source.
Her name is Adrienne Farricelli and sheâs also in a few commercial publications, so Iâm sure youâll find some info on her if you dig a little harder than me. Either way, she has over 10 years of experience and is well known for her teaching s too. So this was another reason in helping me trust that the info inside would be half decent.
What To Expect
Once you make the purchase for the course, youâre then taken through to a sales page where they try to sell you another 2 offers that I honestly didnât take up. Maybe theyâre good, maybe not, who knows!
The sales page looks nice and tidy and shares a ton of info on what you can expect inside. You can see more on that here. Anyway, once you purchase the product youâll receive an email with links to the online videos and pdf downloadables.
Thats it really!
So after buying the course, I quickly got stuck into the section that covered bad behavior and over excitement. There were techniques that involved using positive reinforcement to help calm your dog down when theyâre hyper.
I tested it out for a few days and noticed a slight improvement. But it wasnât until I got stuck into the later stages of the course that I really saw anything significant. Just below are a few games that you get too. I personally only tied the ball pit game which was pretty fun as Bela enjoyed it too.
Here are the 3 games you get:
The âtreasure hunt gameâ that gets your dog back to his evolutionary roots and relieves the âboredomâ that leads to so many problem behaviors.
âThe muffin gameâ to keep your dog mentally stimulated and out of trouble.
âThe ball pit gameâ to drain your dogâs energy and make him easier to work with â all while they have a ton of fun and exercise.
One thing I did really like about his course was the fact that the info wasnât super hard to pick up on. Itâs pretty much simple all the way through, so there are no real restrictions on what you can try.
All the modules are split into school years, so they go through the motions of high school, college, graduation, etc. And, as you go through each one, itâs designed to get a little more difficult and intense with the training methods.
Format Of The Course
One thing I really liked about the course was the way that each training lesson leads to the next. TIt makes it super easy to pick up where you left off, and it also helps you progress accordingly with the training too.
Each of the modules starts with an introduction page that explains what to expect inside and includes a few links to each lesson.
Itâs easy to navigate too, as there are a few forward and back buttons at the bottom of the page, so you can quickly get from one video to the next.
Is The Info Inside Actually Good?
to be quite frank I was surprised at how easy the info was to consume. Thereâs tons of help inside, as you get these little menu bars that help you navigate the site. And the books are laid out pretty well too, as itâs all sectioned into particular areas of problematic behavior.
Overall, id gives it a thumbs up for how everything was laid out and easy to digest.
And itâs not a bunch of fluff, as you can clearly tell that some level of effort was put into the information that you get inside. Talking of that, I might as well get into what you can expect in the modules next.
Whatâs Inside?
Iâll tell you now! if you end up buying this course, then you are guaranteed to not fall short of information. Thereâs literally tons and tons of info which can be a little bit of a drawback as youâll never really find the time to get through it.
Heres a bulleted list of what you get: (taken from course page).
Six modules of videos: (ranging from preschool to elementary school to High School to college to university and to graduation)
7 trick training videos including take a Bow, cover his eyes, dance, shake hands, how, play Dead and rollover
Obedience training 101 which includes: Â Using food to lure and train your dog to complete your commands, the critical element needed to get your dog to lie down or move items, key strategies for getting your dog to stay here come to you and listen to your every command.
Wait for it! and thereâs moreâŚ
Dog training science and techniques
Gentle force three techniques only
Best dog mental stimulation toys
Brainteaser games
Troubleshooting segments of the course
Video demonstrations of the dog training games
As I said earlier, one thing you are not short of in the course is information. Itâs literally a silly amount of information which in some cases can affect the quality of a product. Il let you make that decision for yourself though, so here are a few pros and cons.
Pros And Cons
PROS
Tons of information inside
Inexpensive
can discuss issues the problem is you canât find answers to the inside of the course
Meaning, that you are never tied down to anything indefinitely karma you can come and go as you please
Simple to follow and step by step
You get to train your dog yourself
CONS
Some of the info was very generic (walks in the park, toys etc!)
The text was small on the bonus content (but I have bad eyes and the bonus content is only there as a nice to have).
Do I Recommend This Course?
My answer to this would be YES, if youâre experiencing problems with your dogâs behavior or simply looking for some new ways to increase your dogâs mental stimulation at home. Then yes this is a great course to get started with.
You can do it from home and thereâs no ongoing costs or commitment to anything. Itâs a no brainer really, and because itâs under $50, you can be sure youâll get your monies worth, and then some too.
Heres a quick video of the trainer demonstrating a game with a rottweiler.
youtube
My Experience
Look, itâs not like everything has completely changed and my dog is a complete angel now. NO! that would be unrealistic. However, in regard to all the problems that I mentioned earlier in this post, yes, the course near enough fixed it.
My dog now doesnât chew up our shoes and shes relatively good when we take long walks too. But itâs still a work in progress and it will be interesting to see how she gets on over the next few months.
The most important part for me is the fact that I no longer have my husband nagging in my ears as our dog is now a lot better than before. So its helped with our home life etc, as heâs a lot happier now too.
Conclusion
By reading this review you should clearly now know whether this course is something that you want to try out for you and your dog. The information comes in vast amounts and its taught by what appears to be a credible online dog trainer.
Iâve heard of other courses that are similar to this, so it will be interesting to see how they each perform when placed side by side. Maybe Iâll do a comparison on that later down the road. Who knows? For now, Isotope you enjoyed the read and wish you the best of luck!
Brain training for dogs review
Summary
Overall I would say this is a great program for training your dog. There is still room for improvement, but the methods and strategies worked wonders for me. I would highly recommend this training course if youâre experiencing behavioral problems with your dog.

Infinityâs Descendants
âThe first Dateâ
There he stood in his velvet emerald green habit habillĂŠ with gold trimming embroidered along the coats edges and around the pockets matching green breeches and high heeled satin slippers with gold clasps to match the embroidery his coat. He dabbed at a bit of sweat on his forehead with an embroidered handkerchief before speaking again.
âPlease excuse my tardiness. Is it too late for you to accompany me?â He asked. âMaintenant?â This wasnât a total surprise. Part of her was expecting something like this as she had wore her finest dresses to the shoppe every day this week. ÂŤÂ Oui, maintenant  CĂŠleste thought about her sister. âZaz will understand right? Sheâs probably with Jean-Laurent as we speakâ she thought to herself. CĂŠleste looked once more at Cassius. âYeah Zaz will be fineâ she thought to herself. ÂŤÂ Donnez-moi un moment pour fermer la shoppe et rassembler mes affaires Âť she said with a smile. ÂŤÂ Dâaccord. I will wait outside  Cassius smiled, turned on his heels and exited the shoppe. CĂŠleste had began to overheat from running around the shoppe trying tidy up and grab her things. She peaked out the shoppeâs window at Cassius. He was conversing with the coachman. This gave her enough time to cool herself with her fan and try to settle her nerves. Cassius glances at the window and that was her queue. CĂŠleste excited the shoppe fan in hand in her beautiful dress.
ÂŤÂ Mademoiselle  Cassius smiled and extended a hand to her. He helped CĂŠleste into the carriage and the coachman closed the door behind them. CĂŠleste kept a smile on her face but remained quiet. She glanced over and looked at Cassius; he sat there, one leg crossed over comfortably confident in his outfit. Just sharing the same air with him made CĂŠlesteâs stomach fill with butterflies. Just when she thought he couldnât get any more attractive he held an entire conversation with the coachman in a language that she had never even heard before. âIf you donât mind me asking, what language was that?â she asked. âLatinâ he replied. âLatin? But I thought people stopped speaking that language ages ago?â she said puzzled to which Cassius smiled. ÂŤÂ My coachman is very old, mademoiselle LeBlanc  he winked.
âI am pleased you agreed come. I feared you mightâve forgotten meâ said Cassius. âReally, why is that?â She could never have forgotten him. âMademoiselle Leblanc, I am well aware that as woman as beautiful as you has a plethora of suitorsâ he said. âOh Monsieur, your are just being modestâ CĂŠleste looked away in a failed attempt to conceal her rouge kissed cheeks. ÂŤÂ Non, mademoiselle. Je dis lĂ vĂŠritĂŠ. This night has been all I have looked forward to since my departure from Marseille  CĂŠleste could tell by the tone in Cassiusâ voice that that admission made himnervous. âMe tooâ CĂŠleste replied and a beautiful smile spread across her face. This being a relief to Cassius he returned her smile.
During their ride Cassius carried the conversation. He asked her about her family and if she had any siblings. He inquired about her about her passion for dress making and where her love of fashion came from. He never interrupted her, instead he watched her as she talked, as if he was memorizing her mannerisms, the way she spoke, the way she moved and the way she sighed with contented smile after talking about something she truly enjoyed and loved.
The carriage was slowing. âPerhaps it may be too late to inquire but do you like ThÊâtre?â he asked nervously. CĂŠlesteâs face lit up once more. âI love ThÊâtreâ âGreat, tonight we will see HĂŠrode Et Mariamneâ He said.
Cassius and CĂŠleste entered the OpĂŠra de Marseille arm in arm. It wasnât long before they were being approached by nobles of all sorts from absolutely everywhere. The women were initially drawn to CĂŠleste seeing as though she had made a fair few of the dresses being worn tonight but their attention was quickly placed on Cassius as she figured it would be. He was dressed spectacularly and was apparently of the noble class and even though she was on his arm CĂŠleste knew very well that that would not mean the women would assume he was spoken for they would have to see for themselves. A very loud woman with an extremely elegant dress approached. âCĂŠleste dear! I simply cannot thank you enough. This is beyond my expectations and I have told every woman I know to employ your servicesâ
After Madame de Montcourt finished thanking CĂŠleste for her beautiful dress an extremely handsome man approached.
âMonsieur Cassius, what a surprise to see you here. With a guest as wellâ he diverted his gaze to CĂŠleste her cheeks immediately flushed pink. She smiled politely to try to play it off. âShould you not be working?â The beautiful man continued. âAh Leo, you know a man would perish if he was all business and no pleasureâ Cassius said dryly. âCâest vraiâ Leo never took his eyes off CĂŠleste. ÂŤÂ Quelle est votre nom, mademoiselle?  asked Leo. ÂŤÂ Je mâappelle CĂŠleste  she replied. âAhh CĂŠleste, pleasure to meet youâ he bowed and kissed her hand. Looking up at her his lips lingered just above her skin âYou smell delightful Mademoiselleâ âMerci Monsieurâ she replied smiling shyly. âCareful Cassius. A women who smells this nice and is this beautiful will be highly sought afterâ Leo smiled and gave CĂŠleste a playful wink. âLeo, do you not have business of your own to tend to?â Said Cassius. Leo laughed at the subtle dismissal. âAs a matter of fact, I do. Mademoiselle CĂŠleste it was a pleasure to meet youâ For the first time since he had approached, Leo looked at Cassius. âCassius, I am in town for the week. Perhaps we can hunt together?â he proposed. âSure, come by anytime. Profite du spectacleâ replied Cassius.
Cassius and CĂŠleste made their way to their seats in the top of the theatre were most of the nobles were sitting. CĂŠleste was truly in her happy place taking in all the exquisite fashion. Leoâs eyes met CĂŠlesteâs from the floor below and he nodded politely. âYour friend is niceâ she said. âI wouldnât call him my friend persay. He is more like a fellow businessmanâ he replied. âBusiness, is that how you got these seats? Commoners like myself donât generally sit up her with les dieuxâ CĂŠleste said playfully. âActually, Madame Lecouvreur gifted me with these seatsâ replied Cassius. âYou know Adrienne Lecouvreur? The best actress in all of Franceâ CĂŠleste asked in disbelief. Cassius replied with a smile and something told CĂŠleste that the details of how he knew her may be something she doesnât want to know so she refrained from asking.
The show reproducing the tale of the tragic death of Mariamne at the hands of her jealous husband Herod the Great was absolutely abysmal but somehow Cassius was making it enjoyable. Sooner than both Cassius and CĂŠleste wanted however the show came to an end.
They were about to enter the carriage and Cassius appeared to be troubled.  Qu'Est-ce que c'est? Is something wrong?  CÊleste asked, looking around them anxiously.
ÂŤÂ Mademoiselle, Je dĂŠteste vous demander cela, mais serait-il possible pour vous de passer le reste de la nuit chez moi? You see my coachman has had very little rest today. The fault is entirely mine as I was in a rush to see you, nevertheless, I worry about his well being as well as ours if he attempts the ride back to your home. My home is only a few minutes ride from here. I assure you we will ride out first thing in the morning  said Cassius. âI suppose that will be okay. I wouldnât want him to harm himselfâ CĂŠleste respond before she truly gave herself time to think. âMerci CĂŠleste. I shall inform of the change in destinationâ Cassius helped her into the Carriage once more before going to speak with his coachman. ÂŤÂ Oh mon dieu, qu'ai-je fait. Zaz va me tuer.  CĂŠleste said placing her face in her palm.
Cassius home was no home at all, a beautiful sunset kissed chateau greeted them as the rounded the turn.
They coachman opened the Carriage door for them and the front door to the Chateau opened as they reached the top of the steps. âIt is late, I will show you to your roomâ said Cassius. CĂŠleste was speechless as she admired the architecture, the decor, and the murals throughout the chateau.
Cassius opened a set of double doors. âYou can sleep here for the nightâ âĂŞtes-vous ? Where will you be?â Asked CĂŠleste. âOh Iâll be around. I donât get much sleepâ She thought about how hard itâd be to sleep in a house this big alone and she had to admit sheâd find it difficult to get much rest too. âIf you need anything Charles will either fetch it for you or come find meâCĂŠleste .
Bon nuit mon chÊrie  Cassius pulled the door closed leaving CÊleste in the room.

Will proposing to Sonny.
Wanonymous said: If youâre interested, I would love to hear about Will and Sonny renewing their vows/getting married again since idk if their marriage contract is still valid lol
anonymous said: Prompt: Will plans a surprise vow renewal for Sonny now that he has his memory back (but itâs just the two of them)
A sequel to this fic but can be read alone.
The idea comes to Will when he finds the papers stuffed in the back of his desk drawer. In the chaos and excitement of the return of his memories, heâs forgotten that he and Sonny are actually divorced.Â
He remembers what he said to Sonny that first night: Youâre my husband. And Iâm yours. And it will always be that way. It was the truth then and itâs the truth now. In their hearts and their every day life theyâre (still) married, but the law says otherwise.Â
A plan begins to form.
âAdrienne? Justin? Can I talk to you?â Will finds them both in the sitting room of the Kiriakis mansion, Adrienne drinking tea, Justin reading over some paperwork.Â
Despite it being nearly Christmas, Sonny is off on a week-long business trip to Chicago that Chad has sent him on and Will takes the opportunity to set his plan in motion.Â
âWill, hi.â Adrienne greets him with a smile. Sheâs been nicer and more maternal to him in the few months since heâs gotten his memories back than she was to him during the entirety of the three years that Will was with Sonny before. He supposes sheâs just glad to see Sonny happy again.Â
âWhat can we do for you?â Justin asks, abandoning his papers. âIs Sonny okay?â
âOh. Yeah. Heâs fine. Heâs in Chicago at some conference,â Will explains. âBut Sonny is actually what I wanted to talk to you about.â
âOkay.â Will hears the warning in Adrienneâs voice.
âAdrienne, I know you were never a fan of mine. No, please let me finish,â Will says, as Adrienne opens her mouth to speak. âAnd I know that I broke Sonnyâs heart - before. But I never stopped loving him. Heâs a part of me in way no one else ever could be. I want to marry him again. SoâŚIâm not asking for your permission but I would like your blessing.â
âOh, Will.â Adrienneâs voice is soft and her body melts. âOf course you have our blessing,â she says and immediately envelopes him in a hug.Â
Justin, too, hugs him tightly and shakes his hand in congratulations.
Will thanks them both and then on his way out says, âIâd like to try to keep this a surprise, so please donât tell Sonny.â
They both agree.
Step two is to secure a dinner reservation at Dougâs Place. Heâs never sure if Julie is a fan of his but today she appears to be.Â
âI know itâs close to Christmas and I know itâs last minute, but Iâd really appreciate it if I could get an 8 oâclock dinner reservation for two for Friday night. Sonny comes home on Thursday and Iâd like for everything to be set before then.â
âIs there any special reason for this dinner?â Sheâs got a twinkle in her eye that tells him she knows the answer to that question.
His face splits into an embarrassed grin. âI want to ask him to marry me.â
âOh, honey.â She melts the same way Adrienne had. âYou know what? I can do better than just a dinner reservation for you. You can have the whole place to yourselves.â
âAre you sure?â Will asks, alarmed. âI donât want to take business away from you.â
She waves his objection away with her hand. âDonât worry about a thing. Iâll take care of everything. Itâll be perfect.â
âThank you,â Will responds, overwhelmed by Julieâs sudden outpouring of love.Â
Step three is to buy rings. Will wants this to be a fresh start, so itâs going to be new rings. In any case, Will has no idea where either original ring is. So he heads to the jewelry shop in the Square and picks out two pewter rings.
As he steps out of the store, he literally bumps into Lucas who is out with Willâs new baby sister, courtesy of Bonnie Lockhart.
âIs it weird?â Will asks, gesturing to the one-year old in the carriage Lucas is pushing.
âHaving a new baby?â Lucas asks. When Bonnie had first dropped the news on him, he had insisted on a paternity test, which had proved she wasnât lying. âNot really. Youâre all grown up and Allieâs half way across the world. Itâs kind of nice having a little person again who depends on me.â
Will grins. âYou should bring her over to the apartment. Iâm sure Ari would love to use her as a living doll.â
Lucas laughs and then asks, âWas that the jewelry store I saw you leaving?â His eyes sparkle and he has a devilish grin on his face.
Will blushes, caught out by his dad. âUh, yeah. Iâm going to ask Sonny to marry me tomorrow.â
âThatâs great!â Lucas booms, startling some nearby passersby. âIâm so happy for you, Will.â He pulls Will into a bone-crushing hug.
When they break apart, Will admits heâs nervous.
âWhy?â
âI donât know. I know heâll say yes. We still consider ourselves married. But itâs still nerve-wracking, yâknow?â
âYouâll be fine,â Lucas encourages just as the baby starts getting fussy. âI should go.â
Will nods and heads in the opposite direction as his father and sister.
Step four is asking Gabi to take Ari for the weekend, starting tomorrow. Itâs an unspoken agreement that Will and Sonny are Ariannaâs primary caretakers.
âOf course Iâll have her for the weekend!â Gabi exclaims when he explains why heâs asking. âOh. Iâm so happy for you, Will. You deserve it. Both of you do.â She hugs him tight and heâs overwhelmed by how grateful he is to have her as his friend and the mother of his child.
Will picks Sonny up at the train station two hours later.
âI missed you,â Sonny says when they break apart from the lingering kiss with which Will has greeted Sonny.
âI missed you, too. Letâs go home. Ariâs there with Gabi waiting to see you.â
After a quick hello hug, Gabi lets herself out of the apartment, leaving the three of them to share a quiet evening.
As theyâre climbing into bed after getting Ari settled for the night, Will says, âI thought we could go out for dinner tomorrow, just the two of us. Gabiâs agreed to have Ari for the weekend.â
Sonny looks at him curiously but acquiesces. âOkay. Any particular reason why?â
Will shrugs. âWe havenât really spent much time alone since I got my memory back and I realized how much I missed you this past week.â
Sonny grins slowly, more than appeased. âI love you,â he says, shuffling himself into the middle of the bed to pull Will into a kiss.
Will smiles, his heart full, and meets Sonnyâs mouth with his.
âDougâs Place?â Sonny asks rather unnecessarily, as they plot the familiar course through town to the club that once belonged to Sonny.
Will nods. âI made us a reservation this morning. I hope itâs okay.â The ring box sits comfortably in Willâs jacket pocket, rising and falling with each of his breaths.
âOf course itâs okay,â Sonny answers, kissing Willâs cheek and lacing their fingers together in between them.
They arrive at the restaurant at five minutes to eight. Inside, the lights are low, soft music plays on the speakers, and thereâs a table in the middle set for two, a single rose in a vase sitting in the center of the table. A bottle of champagne rests in a bucket of ice next to the table. Conspicuously, the place is empty of patrons.
âWill?â Sonny questions.
âJulie was feeling generous and closed the place for us,â Will says.
Will leads Sonny to the table. âWhat are you up to?â Sonny asks as they sit down.â
Will is spared having to answer the question as a waiter appears with menus and to pop the champagne. Having eaten there many times, it takes Will and Sonny only minutes to decide what they want for dinner: steak and fries for Sonny, a bowl of pasta with shrimp and peas for Will.
While they wait for their food, they discuss mundane things: TV shows they want to watch; books Will has yet to read; Sonnyâs trip to Chicago; Willâs work at the paper. Eventually, when their food arrives, talk turns to the shenanigans happening around Salem. They discuss the mess of Chad and Abigailâs lives (and Gabiâs part in it); the mess of Jennifer, Brady, and Ericâs lives, in only a small part due to the return of Nicole; Sonny asks about Marlenaâs progress, which turns to talk about if either of them have had any news about Paul; and they take bets about how uncomfortable the Horton tree trimming will be this year.
âIs it strange to have a sister younger than Ari?â Sonny asks.
Will ponders the question. âI havenât really thought about it. I guess so. I think itâs weird for Dad, though. I asked him yesterday about it, actually. He says itâs not but I donât think he was entirely honest.â
âWill it be weird if she ends up looking like me?â
Will laughs. âWhy would she look like you?â
âBonnie looks just like mom,â Sonny answers. Donât you think she might resemble me when she gets older?â
Will stares at him, speechless, a forkful of pasta frozen in midair halfway to his mouth. Sonny grins.
After that, Will is too disturbed by that image to carry on anymore conversation and they finish their meal in comfortable silence. When their plates are devoid of any food, Will stands and holds his hand out to Sonny. âDance with me?â
Sonnyâs face softens with a small smile and he takes Willâs hand, falls into Willâs arms, which encircle his waist as soon as Sonny is out of his chair. Sonnyâs arms automatically go around Willâs shoulders, his hands resting together behind Willâs head. They sway on the spot, not really dancing, but not standing still either.
âThank you for tonight,â Sonny says after a bit. âIt was nice.â
âOnly nice?â Will asks.
Sonny blushes. âMore than nice.â After a beat, he says, âSometimes I still canât believe this is real. That youâre really here and with me. I donât say it, but sometimes when I wake up and youâre not in bed, I panic. I have to remind myself that youâre only in the bathroom or Ariâs room.â
Will stops swaying, the mood turned serious, the ring box heavy in his jacket pocket. âI love you, you know that, right?â Will asks, suddenly unsure.
Sonny nods, lips turned up in a small smile.Â
âMarry me,â Will says simply. He had planned on a big speech but standing with Sonny in his arms, a big speech doesnât seem necessary. There are too many words and not enough words to express everything that he wants to say to Sonny.
Sonnyâs mouth drops open in surprise.Â
Will lets go of Sonnyâs waist with one hand and pulls the ring box out of his pocket. âI had planned on making this a proposal,â Will says.
âBut?â Sonny asks, his eyes on the box in Willâs hand.Â
âMy mom told me once when we were out in LA how she and EJ had privately renewed their vows after she forgave him for the Abigail fiasco. I want us to be married again, Sonny, legally, but we donât need to wait until weâre in front of friends and family to say our vows. So will you marry me tonight?â
Sonny nods furiously, overcome with emotion, and surges forward to kiss Will. Will smiles into the kiss and pulls Sonny closer, their hearts beating in tandem against their chests.Â
When they break apart, Will lets go of Sonny to open the ring box. Heâs about to take a ring out when Sonny stalls his hand.Â
âCan I - can I go first?â Sonny asks.Â
Will drops his hand and lets Sonny take out the first ring. âI meant what I said at our wedding. Youâre my anchor. When I came back to Salem after San Francisco, I came back with the intention of being gone in a few weeks. And then I met you, and suddenly I didnât want to be anywhere else.â Sonny stops, searches Willâs eyes. His free hand finds Willâs. âI lost my mooring when you went to LA and I know - I know everything spiraled out of control from there. We both did and said things we shouldnât have.âÂ
Theyâve already talked about it, that last year, last eight months before Sonny left and Will âdiedâ, but Sonny needs it to be clear now, in this moment, that heâs claiming responsibility in how things ended, needs Will to know that he will makes sure that it never happens again.
âYou once said that you brought more of the imperfections to our relationship and I said that wasnât true. That was the truth then and itâs true now. I took you for granted and I am so so sorry about that. I judged you more than I should have and I made you feel unloved. I abandoned you and I have hated myself for it every day for the past three years. I never stopped loving you, Will. Burying you was the most awful week of my life. I spent weeks, months after not believing it was real. It turned me cold, and hard, and into someone I didnât even recognize.â
Sonny looks down, away from Will, and bites his lip. His heart still hurts when he thinks about WIllâs funeral.Â
âComing back to Salem was hard. Everything reminded me of you. And even when I pushed through the memories, I was still uncertain, unmoored, lost without my anchor. But then the most amazing miracle happened.â Sonny returns his gaze to Will and his face splits into a bright smile. âI got you back. You were alive. Suddenly I could breathe again. And even though you couldnât remember me, you were still here, yâknow? I got a piece of my heart back I never thought I would ever see again. These last four months have been a dream come true.Â
âAnd I know that what happened before you died canât be undone but I need you to know that I will never, ever take you for granted again. You are the most important person my life, Will, besides Ari.â Sonny takes the ring box from Will and drops it onto the table next to them. Then he lifts Willâs left hand to his mouth and kisses his knuckles before sliding the new wedding ring onto Willâs finger. âI love you so much, Will. As I give you this ring, so I give you my heart.â
Will swallows thickly, overcome with emotion. He laces their fingers together, swings their entwined hands a little at their sides. âWhen I was in Memphis, all I knew about my life was what Susan had told me. And then you came walking into the bar and completely changed my life. I know the amnesia was hard on you and I am so sorry that you had to suffer like that. But I meant what I said when I got my memory back. Youâre in my heart. Youâre in my bones. You are part of me in a way no else is.Â
âI know that I was kind of a mess that last year before I - before I died. I betrayed your trust so badly. But I never want to be that person again. I also - I also called our life boring,â Will says, his brow furrowing at the bad memory. âThat was unfair to you and what we had built together. The truth is youâre my anchor too. These past few months with you I have never felt more settled in my life, like Iâm right where Iâm supposed to be and who Iâm supposed to be with. I didnât just get my memories back, I got my heart and my soul back.â Will lets go of Sonnyâs hands to pull the second ring out of the box on the table. Slipping it onto Sonnyâs finger, Will says, âI love you more than anything, Sonny, except for Ari. As I give you this ring, so I give you my heart.â
As soon as the ring is secure on his finger, Sonny takes Willâs face in his hands and kisses him, deeply.Â
âHusbands for life,â Sonny mumbles against Willâs mouth, his eyes closed and their foreheads touching.
âHusbands for life,â Will echoes quietly, his arms tightening around Sonnyâs waist.Â
They return to swaying to the soft music drifting out of the speakers, until eventually they make their way to the privacy of their home.Â

Feng Shui And Pets. Cat, Fish, Dog. Who Is More Powerful For Good Luck?
Why Pets and Feng Shui are a great Combination?
Many Times you can read in magazines that Pets are good for Feng Shui. I always wondered what people understand with Feng Shui and Pets. As a Feng Shui Consultant, I understand that pets are great enhancers to every household and they keep a house in balance with the yin and yang energy. Especially if you live on your own. It is believed in the Asian world that cats bring you money luck, ( you can buy the waving lucky cat) dogs bring you health and happiness, and goldfishes are for abundance and wealth. Especially the 9 goldfish 8 red and one black one. There are many paintings in Asia, and many offices keep either the 9 goldfish, the colourful Flowerhorn or the Arrowana that shines gold and red.Â
The Four Celestial Animals in Feng ShuiÂ
Feng Shui has the four celestial Animals like the Green Dragon in the east, the Blue Tortoise in the North, the Red Phoenix in the south, and the White Tiger in the West. They have a symbolic meaning according to the landscape and the construction of a building. When someone asks me the question of what is a good pet for me that brings me good luck, I usually say go with your heart. Be grateful that an animal will choose you to care for it. Pets are a great companion and have a lot of health benefits so yes in a way your pet brings you the luck and joy of every days life. Your Pet makes you to the luckiest person in the world.
Feng Shui for Humans, Pet & CoÂ
This blog is for humans, and I do not promote getting a pet for the sake of Good Luck. Please donât get me wrong you are lucky when a pet is choosing you, as you can never find a more loyal companion than a pet. Your Pet would be happy sleeping on the oldest rug or just on the floor as long as it is on your side. That is called loyalty. There are enough stories around where your pet is your best friend and will not leave your side when you are in need.
What has the Good Luck in Feng Shui to do with Pets?
Most of my client always ask me, if it is ok for Feng Shui to have a pet. Yes it is, there are only a few rules you have to follow, and that is the most common sense rule to keep your pet and home clean, it is not a mystery in doing so, and I will share a few tips and tricks in making your home beautiful and tidy even if you have a pet or multiple pets. I have grown up with pets all my life, I could not imagine not having a pet. Every Bird who fall out of the nest and the mum abandon it, any injured bat, squirrels, hedgehogs, and so many more we always looked after them until they are ready to be released into the wild again.Â
The Power of being compassion and the Heart.
I remember I had a friend she lived in Asia and she took in every stray cat and a stray dog that crossed her way. In the end, she had 19 cats and 12 dogs in an apartment that had around 120 sqm living area.
Every time I went to her home I thought I am on a farm and the smell really made me want to leave immediately. Unfortunately, she would not listen to me, as I guess she could not smell it anymore and get used to it. She paid for the apartment the same amount as she would settle to rent a small terrace house. My Friend eventually, got herself a house for less of the price of the condo and even she had a lot of dogs and cats the house did not smell so bad as the condo unit before. Get the Pet that suits your living environment. Some of my clients worry when having a pet that their place will look untidy and messy. It does not need too, having a pet is great and just get a pet that suits your living standard. What I mean with that is if you live in a small apartment than get a smaller dog instead of a huge dog like a Doberman or Husky. If you love to have long and distance walks or jogs then get a dog that loves it too. I have done a lot of consultations for clients who got a pet because a Feng Shui Practioner told them this year is lucky, and your lucky pet is a cat or a dog. So they went out and bought one not thinking that it will be a lifetime commitment. It took them some time to adjust to it, but in the end, they loved the pet like a family member. You can have a beautiful house or home with a pet. It does not need to be a mess and smelly. Let me show you how?
Good Fortune Feng Shui with two Cats.
I had one client an older lady and one day she called me and said I need to come to her house and collect the Feng Shui Cats.
I told her that I am not a new age Feng Shui Consultant and I do not sell or buy those Feng Shui objects. She told me no, the cats are real, and she doesnât know what to do with them now as she doesnât need them now anymore the year of the tiger ( Chinese zodiac signs) is over, and she doesnât need them anymore. I might have been a bit slow in understanding or getting it, but I ask her what she meant. So here is the explanation. Because it was the year of the tiger, it is said that cats are good money luck for her and her husband, but unfortunately, he died in the year of the tiger. Now the year is over, and she doesnât need the cats anymore. I could not believe my ears, I ask her did she not bond with the cats and what are the names ⌠she said no need names only for good luck, now I do not need them anymore. Please come and take them. Long story short I found a loving home for the two cats, as my instinct told me that if I donât get them, they become stray as she would let them go anyway as for her it served her purpose. A Short Note of Importance. I was in a rage and really angry but could not show this to my client. That is also partly why I wanted to write this blog, to make people aware that pets are not objects you buy of the shelf, they do have feelings and they are a loyal companion. A pet does not come with an expiry date; it will stay with you at least 20 years. So be prepared to share your life for over 20 years with your loyal companion your pet.Â
Please help me to share this post as people are still in the belief a pet brings good luck yes it lucky for you to have a pet, but a pet need love and commitment and if you are not ready for it then don't get one. If you abandon or return a pet to a shelter you break the heart of that pet, so before you decide to get a pet, think about it and ask yourself if you are prepared to care for your pet the next 20 years and more. Â
Who let the Dog out... Is there an animal in the house?
Over the years I have helped many of my clients to understand and co-habitat their four-legged friends without sacrificing their precious home smelling and looking like pet stall.Â

Easy Slip CoversÂ
Use easy slip over covers for your Chairs, Launch and Sofa, and if you can not get them in colour you want them to have then get the fabric and give them to someone to hem them up. Best is the non-wrinkle easy wash, with static effect easy dry fabric. In the picture, those are from Walmart click here to go to Walmart (Static means the fabric will not attract like a magnet the hairs of your dogs or cats) Tip: Most dry-cleaning shops have small sewing services available like (hemming and minor repair work )for cloth and covers. If you have a sewing machine do it yourself, it is quickly done. ( Ask around in your friend circle someone for sure can do the sewing.) Tip: Choose colours that do not attract the hair of your pet statically. ( Dark colours like black and blue will give you a headache if you have a pet with light colour fur. Tip. Chose dark colour beds or covers for a pet with dark fur, light colours for a lighter fur colour or try to match the tone of your pet. Tip. Keep at least 2 sets of each. As when one set of covers is in the washing, the one will be in use. Match the colour of your pet to the covers or choose a neutral colour for multiple pets. I used a kind of medium blue when I had different colour pets. That suits the dark fur four-legged friends and the lighter fur colour four-legged friends. ( what I want to say with that, you do not see so easily the hairs of your pets) Donât forget the sets include the arm covers and seat and back covers in the same fabric as the slipcover. It is essential that you add an extra 35 cm or 13.5 inches for the seat and back to allow for shrinkage. Tip. If you are not sure, you can also wash the fabric first and then cut but still with the allowance as you will need it. Change of your Cleaning Routine makes it a daily exercise. When you have pets, you like it or not cleaning daily like the vacuum, and wet mopping is a must. Get yourself a strong and powerful vacuum cleaner that takes on all the hairs from your pet. I use the Kaercher Vacum cleaner wet and dry. ( Kaercher is a great brand)Â
It is powerful, and you can see that you used the vacuum cleaner. I put into the container of the Vacum cleaner a piece of tissue with lavender oil, that way my vacuum cleaner smells when I vacuum like lavender oil. You can use any other essential oil, or you can buy the vacuum deodorant. ( just be aware of the essential oils do and don'ts with pets. ) Read my blog Essential Oils for Pets For Wet Mopping, you can use the Steam Mop. A great way to get rid of all the germs and it is clean. If you are not consistent in cleaning than you will not enjoy your place the same as your pets. Donât forget that it is also your home and everyone including you should feel good.
Pet Beds and Furniture that blend in with your furniture and your home.
If your pets are not allowed on the launch and chairs and they have there owned furniture, it is always wise to get something that blends in with your other furniture. Especially with larger dogs, the recommendation is that they have their own pet bed. They usually take over your whole launch, and you properly sit on the edge balancing between falling and not falling. Brain Train your dog to use his dog bed instead of your launch.
Pet Beds and Places to sleep for your Pet.Â
No, you are not rude; it is just that you enjoy looking at your pet and your pet wants to be near you, it does not care it is your launch or his bed. Tip. When you buy a pet bed for your dog or cat make sure the covers can be taken off and are washable. If not, then please use covers in pairs so you can wash one and the other is in use. Washing it on a weekly base is essential, and your pets will love the clean and fresh pet bed. On the other hand, it also makes your home look fresh and clean. Avoid using a spray that makes the pet bed smell good but does not make it clean. It can be a one or two-time solution but washing the pet bed cover weekly should be standard.
Pets do enjoy a clean, pleasant smell looking home the same as you do. A clean home is good Feng Shui for you and for your pet. When your pets sleep with you in your bedroom get them a separate bed, it is better for your sleep. Everyone has then a comfortable night. Depends on the size of your pet. When you get them a separate bed at least, you are not falling over them at night or stepping on them. ( fur haven dog beds are inexpensive and come in different sizes and colours) click here There are plenty of beds available what you can move under the bed during the day time. For the night time, you put them into a corner of the room, so that your pet can still see you but you do not drip over it at night. Murphy Bed Style Dog Bed the perfect solution for limited space.
Lack of space? This Murphy Bed Style Dog Bed is the solution. Opens up for a spot to rest and closes up when nap time is over. Can be used as a shelf for books, lamps or any other dĂŠcor that will create a customised look in a small space. The Abigail Murphy Dog Bed is the perfect place for your pet to rest. I love this cupboard beds ok agree they cost a bit more but they are really practical. If you are on a budget, you can buy the inexpensive beds from Fur Haven Memory Top Chaise Lounge Quilted Fleece & Print Suede link picture. Pet crates blend in with furniture wide variety available.Â
Furniture Pet Crates are also a great solution as they do blend in and are like safety heaven for pets where they can get some peace and rest. Read Crate training for dogsÂ
Crate training for dogs is, and I know there are pro and cons, but until I got one I had the same opinion. Now my dogs love the crates, I always thought of a crate like a cage, but that is entirely a perception. My dogs love their crates, and I find them pretty fashionable. If you want them to blend into your dĂŠcor, they are a bit pricey, but it is worth it. Click here to go to dog cratesÂ
Why plain floors and Wooden floors rather than carpeting.
A wooden floor or plain floors are much easier to clean than carpets. If you are renting a place, you will have not much choice. I understand that I been there before. You still can get area rugs to put over the carpet.Â
If you have a wooden floor or other plain floors except for carpet, you can use the steam cleaner. I think it is a great invention as it really cleans it perfect it eliminates all germs and dirt. It is eco-friendly as you clean with water only that becomes steam. The most steamers have different functions like for marvel and tiles, or wooden floors. If you are carpet lover and donât want to miss your carpets then at least choose the colour of the rug to the fur colour of your pet or at least match it. Donât use a dark carpet if you have a white or beige colour dog, you are getting crazy with cleaning all the hairs. As once your dog sheds the hair onto your carpet, you are always cleaning. It will eventually annoy you. Click here to look at some area rugsÂ
Scratching Posts, Litter Boxes and Pet Smells.
If you have multiple pets like me, you have to be very thorough with eliminating the smell of the litter box from the cats or small dogs and keeping the pet areas clean. The next dilemma is then where to put the litter box. ( it is not always easy to find the right place. ) Check out the Cool and Practical Bathroom litter boxes what look like a cupboard. Those are a bit costly but are great and make a perfect fit for any home.
Click here to see all the Litterboxes different styles Do not put a litter box into the bathtub. It is not nice, and it will scratch your tub. Believe me, you will have a head cinema if you want to take a bath or not. Plus it is not sanitary, and it looks terrible. You won't enjoy it, believe me, it is always in the back of your head. If you can not find a place and you do not have a cover by a closed litter box. It is privacy for your pet, and it keeps the smell a bit under control. The only place I would put then the litter box is either the garage or the laundry room. If you have somewhere, an empty closet than use this as the cupboard for the litterbox. I love this cupboard solution, and my one is under the sink it blends in with our bathroom furniture.Â
Litter box cupboards and cheaper version
DIY a small bathroom cupboard. If you have a cupboard in your bathroom, you could use then cut a small opening into the closet and attach the cat door to it so the cat or little dog can go in and out. It also seals the smell when the litter box been used. Put an inexpensive cat litter box in there and fill it up with odour free pet-friendly cat litter. This way you can quickly clean it, and everything vanishes from the eyesight. Bathrooms, Toilets and Feng Shui a bad combination.
In Feng, Shui toilets have a terrible reputation, but if the bathroom is kept clean it is ok and time has evolved. In ancient times the toilets been always outside due to the belief that it accumulates bad Energy or bad Chi. Bathrooms have changed and become a quite nice decorative room in the house. A bathroom needs to keep clean and with a fresh smell. TIP: Do clean your litter box and change the cat litter on a regular base like cleaning daily. Scratching Posts and Cat Furniture Cats love to scratch to sharpen their claws. They do not care it is your beloved sofa or armchair. They see it as a necessity and use what is convenient for them. Scratching for cats is healthy, and they mark their territory with it. When your cat is scratching your furniture there are a couple of reasons,
you do not have a scratch pole or tree. They do not like the scratch pole or tree ( use cat mint to make it more attractive), or if you have stray cats, they do not like it, or they are not used to it Scratch trees should have all, sisal posts, play, hiding places etc. Get an eco-friendly scratching post your cats will love it. Spray it with catmint to attract your cat's attention. Please donât get it wrong a cat is not scratching your furniture because she likes to make you upset. It is a natural behaviour. There are solutions for cat scratching, I am not talking about declawing. Declawing a cat is cruel and forbidden in most countries. Click here to see all scratch trees My cats love this Scratch Sphere it comes with a small toy.
Feng Shui Harmony, Pets and You
In Feng Shui, all is about harmony and creating a warm and inviting space. That will give us humans and our pets a calm and relaxed environment. It means we connect with our environment and we go with the flow not against the flow. What does that mean? We create a space that is in Harmony with us. If you place the dog bed or cat bed in an area where you have to bump or drip every time you walk past it then this is not in the flow. That is not Feng Shui that is just pure bad furniture placement. ( Interior Design) It will aggravate you every time you pass there or bump your toe. Choose a place for the Pet Furniture that is suitable and out of the way.
Air purifiers and Pet Smell.
On more thing, I like to mention here as we get too used to it and might not be aware of it anymore. The Smell of our Pets You should feel good in your home, the critical thing is that you feel good and you are proud to show off your home or invite friends and family over. If the pets have taken over your home and you feel ashamed and uncomfortable to invite friends and family, then it is time to change that. As this is definitely not good Feng Shui. Means you are out of touch with your environment. When you live with pets, you get so used to their smell that you do not smell it anymore. Ask from time to time a family member or friend to come by and tell you if your home smells like pets. I use on a regular base use my essential oil diffuser, and if I use the steamer, I mix in 1 or 2 drops of lavender oil into the water. When the steamer gets hot, the smell evaporates through the home so does the diffuser.Â
When you are wondering why some of your friends refuse to come to your home, well the unpleasant smell or odour of your pets might be the reason. Most of the friends are too polite to say something as they do not want to offend you. If it is awful than get yourself a good air purifier, not with the replacement filters, get one that is washable. I use the Philips Air purifier. It also kills mould and airborne germs. I would recommend you to spent a bit more like the cheap ones you can throw away after 6 months. Click here to go to Air Purifiers You can also use for example in winter time for the vaporisers on your heating add one or two drops of essential oils( be careful with your pets as dog and cats are different in absorbing essential oils, and you might hurt them) Read my blog about pets and essential oils. ( a no go is Tea Tree Oil, lemon oil, pine, orange actually all citric oils for cats, ) You can also use some homemade cleaners, and they will take out the pet smell. Invest either in a good steam mop or a good air purifier. If you are able to afford both even better. ( you will love the steam mop) If you can recommend a good solution to eliminate pet smell, please do so in our comment section. It is always good to have different solutions on hands. I think I donât need to mention it, but a big part of a happy Pet owner and a happy Pet is safety.
Keep your pet safe and do not harm your pet.
Also for your safety keep the pet toys cleaned up in an area where you do not constantly drip over it. Dripping and falling toys or chewy bones can easily end up in broken bones or other injuries. Pets are part of the household, but that does not mean the place need to be untidy. Remember when talking about Feng Shui and being in the flow it means being in the flow. Not dripping and constantly stepping over pet furniture or pet toys. Don't make your life more difficult and cause stress that is not necessary. Stress and frustration get automatically transferred to your pet, and it makes your pets unsettled. Pets are sensitive in picking up your energy vibes, and they start to act accordingly. Happy Pet Owner, Happy Pets. That goes the same with their beds or crates they need to be in a place where they can see the action but also feel safe and secure. Toxic Cleaners and Chemicals keep them out of the way far away from your pet and of course your kids too. If you can use only pet-friendly cleaning solutions and natural cleaners. It helps your pets and our environment. If you have children that is the same. What about smaller pets in cages or aquariums. A Fish tank, Aquarium, Terrarium, Cages or whatever with smaller pets like hamsters, fish, birds, mice, snakes, reptiles and so on. All the environment they live in need to be clean and tidy. That goes the same for the smell. Some of the smaller pets have a strong odour, so they need to be kept clean and tidy.
Fish and Aquarium
Require water, and large fish tanks cannot be placed just anywhere in the home. You have to know the Flying Stars and the areas where the water is ok. General Placement of water in the house. The Bedroom is definitely NO. East Sector, North Sector and the Southeast is ok with water. We talk about a standard size tank. In case the size of a Fish tank is taking over one-third of the room you better consult a Feng Consultant where to place your fish tank. ( you might drown your luck in water)Â A Fish tank can be very good Feng Shui if it is clean and the fish are healthy. When you get fish to make sure they do not kill each other immediately. Not all the fish go along with each other. Do the research. For the other smaller pets make sure they live in a natural environment, and the cages or terrariums are big enough for them and are decorated with the objects to keep them happy and busy. Avoid putting the smaller pets into the bedroom of your kids as they might be forgotten, neglected or will keep your kids awake at night. Especially if they are nocturnal.
Feng Shui, Pets and You
Your Pets and you can live in harmony with each other. With a little bit of effort, you can make your home nice and beautiful. It will benefit you and your pets. A harmonic clean and vibrant environment is pleasant and enjoyable for you and your pets. Feng Shui and Pets go well together but not for the benefits of using it for the sake of achieving wealth.
Animals in Feng Shui
For me, nothing is more welcoming as having a home with pets. Pets are known in Feng Shui to symbolise not only good energy, and as the old lady got told the tale is cats are good for financial luck and dogs to help to boost and infuse the energy in a home. Take note that animals are not lucky charms that you get for one year and when the year is over you discharge them.
Pets are for life and will enhance your health and enrich your life. If you want a cat as a lucky charm get the fortune cat from a Chinese store. Pets are not lucky charms and are for life. Pets are part of our family treat and respect them as they enrich our lives and are a loyal companion through the years you will spend with them.  You are lucky to have pets. Feng Shui and Pets are a great combination. Do you have some more tips living with pets and how to make a home more environmentally friendly? Please share with us, if you have pets, please write below their names and what kind of pet you have. Got to our Facebook page and post the latest picture you took from your loved pets. He's not panicking. Really, he's not. He's overjoyed, elated, giddyâ and only a little terrified. What if he trips? What if he messes up his vows? What ifâ
Noodle squeezes his arm, careful not to rumple the sleeve of his tux. "You okay, Toochie?"
The look he gives her says it all.
She sighs and stands on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek. "You'll be fine. It's you and 2D. Nothing could be more right."
Stuart glances at himself in the mirror one last time, at his hair combed into submission, his crisp white suit and cornflower blue tie. His bare left hand.
"Yeah." His voice cracks. "I'll be okay. I just have to see him, and I'll be fine."
Noodle smiles at him, and opens the door.
He can see his friends, his family, all sitting in the pews and standing by the altar. There's some tears, and so many smiles. The music swells. From the other side of the chapel, the door opens, and he can see 2D, holding Russel's armâ and suddenly, everything is blurry. Noodle sighs affectionately and hands Stuart a handkerchief.
That radiant cornflower blue blob gets bigger and bigger as both men walk towards the altar from each end. Stuart can make out some details nowâ black eyes. Blue hair. The biggest smile he's ever seen.
He's close enough to touch now, and Stuart does, gripping his hand tightly as the groomsmen and groomsmaids file in to meet them.
Their friends. Their family. It brings him so much joy to see them all here. No matter the myriad differences and disagreements between some of their guests, they're all here. They're all here to celebrate their friends' union, their love. And that, Stuart thinks, smiling, is the greatest wedding gift he and 2D could ever ask for.
Dan held her bouquet with emotion and smiles fondly when she sees her friend, after everything they have gone through together this is by far one of the best moments she has shared with Stuart, it is inevitable of course to let a few tears out. For other part, Danielle watched the ceremony with a sincere smile on her face, she gave Adrienneâs hand an squeeze as a way of affection. She wishes the true happiness for them. @imdanielle-xx @hello-imdan
It's...odd for Adrienne, seeing her ex wear a flower she'd grown herself in his lapel at his wedding to another man. She still resents him a little, for breaking both her heart and Danielle's. But...she has Danielle now. It's a love she never imagined, and one she wouldn't trade for the world. She and Stuart had found themselves in other people, had found light and joy and peace. And she's glad for it. So when his gaze finds hers, there's no malice in her smile. She just nods, and squeezes her girlfriend's hand back. @drenny-dreadful
Yvaniel got a Mysterious Wedding invitation. He decided to go anyways. He figured itâs someone he forgot about after having amnesia. His bright purple hair floated. Yes floated. He puts on a sliver crown, a normal tux, black boots, and rings that he stole from the four kings. When he arrives he notices Lucifer, irritated. But now that he thinks of it... he kinda remembers.. Stuart, 2D. Lucifer is not his father, he wasnât his true self. @askarchangelyvaniel
Lucifer dressed himself into a tail coat, all black, silver tie, and silver earrings, his hair slicked back. Heâs never been to a wedding honestly. He puts armor rings on his horns and fingers so he doesnât get hurt, or hurts others. When he arrives he canât help but be a nervous wreck. His daughters- well not His Exactly, being there. And.. Murder? Heâs scared. But heâs hoping to at least have fun with everyone else. @askrivallucifer
What a beautiful ceremony there was taking place. Both twins, Euphemia and Dulcinea, were resisting the urges to gape around the room in awe, they were placed so perfectly on either side of their tall, blue-haired friends. Being identical twins and wearing the same-- different-- dresses from every other groomsmaid, it only made sense to arrange them in a sort of bookend position to stand beside the grooms. It was a little hard to convince Euphie to stand anywhere but next to sister, but they eventually got there, but Murdoc was the one allowed to stand close behind her. He was just off to the side so heâd be closer to...his dads. Dulcinea was the one who wouldnât part from Murdocâs side, the arrangement still appearing somewhat even despite this. In Murdocâs arm was little Ignacio in a little suit to match his fatherâs. Euphoria? In Dulcineaâs arms and, with the bottom of the babyâs dress mimicking her motherâs to look like a bundle of flowers, it was much like Dolly was holding the most adorable bouquet. @thesweetestaccidents
And of course, after all the others had taken their places, a tiny girl with bright blue hair appears. Parker gazes around curiously as she's carried down the aisle by her grandmaâ but as soon as she sees her fathers, she laughs in joy, nearly upsetting the rings fastened to the pillow clutched in her hand. "Bloo!" she exclaims. "Bloo, bloo!"
She takes her place, and the officiant steps forward. "Dearly beloved, we are gathered today to witness the joining of these two souls..."
The next few minutes are a blur. Stuart can only see 2D. His smile, his trembling hands, his beautiful eyes. He can only hear his own heart pounding.
A ribbon is wrapped round the two men's joined handsâ though Rachel Pot had insisted on a traditional wedding, she'd conceded a simple handfasting ritual while the two said their vows.
As the ribbon is wound around their hands, Stuart clears his throat again. And again. "2D..." he starts.
"Youâ you're the love of my life. I can't imagine bein' me without you bein' there by my side. You make me happy in ways Iâ I didn't know were possible.
"2D, you are my joy. You're my angel. You're my life. My love. Myâ m-my..." He chokes up, and the officiant pauses, concerned.
"Your bluebird," 2D says softly, smiling.
Stuart nods, tears falling thick and fast.
2D leans forward and kisses his cheek, then bites his lip. "I-I-I...I forgot wot I was gonna say. F-for me vows." He looks at the officiant nervously. "Could...could I have a second, p-please?"
Taken a bit aback, she nods kindly. 2D smiles at her, then bites his lip again, deep in thought.
There's a small cough in the back as silence stretches on.
Finally, 2D looks up again. "Stu, I fought me life was set. Be a nobody, then be a rockstar, then either die in a blaze o' glory or fade away into obscurbity. You made me realize I could be sumfin' else. I could just...be 'appy. I could be me." Under the ribbon binding their hands, his thumb strokes Stuart's hand. "I could be wif you. It's rarely perfect, but it's us, an' that's perfect in its own way. And I can't wait for the rest of my lifeâ of our livesâ to be the same kinda perfect imperfect we make together." 2D tilts his head. "Does...does tha' make sense?"
"Yeah." Stuart nods, heart full to bursting. "It makes all the sense in the world."
The officiant unwraps their hands, and Rachel carries Parker and the rings forward. The Pots each give their daughter a kiss as they take their rings, and then there's silence.
Stuart slides the simple golden band onto 2D's hand, and 2D does the same.
"Do you, Stuart Harold Pot, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, to honor and love, until death do you part?"
"I do," Stuart says, at the exact same time 2D does. A ripple of laughter goes through the crowd, including the two blue haired men. "Sorry, was that for him, o-or for me?"
"That one was for you."
"Oh." He rubs 2D's hand with his thumb. "I do, then."
"And do you, Stuart Harold '2D' Pot, takeâ"
2D is bouncing on his heels a bit. "I do, I do, I already said I do!"
"Then by the power invested in me, I pronounce you both husbands. You may now seal your union with a kiss."
And, just as they did for the very first time a year ago to the day, they do.

A/N: It gets better I swear!
The wrap party is in full swing. Most of the cast are consuming margaritas, buzzing with excitement over how the film will turn out. Rafa and Adrienne are talking to Gina and Ava, but Daveed and I somehow made our way into the house they used for filming. It was empty so he pulled me into one of the rooms and locked the door.
His lips immediately made there way to my neck as he unbuttoned my blouse. The second it touched the floor, my pants and panties followed suit. His lips found mine, but it wasnât as soft as the kiss we shared before. It was rough and possessive and it drove me insane. He pushed me onto the couch and slowly kissed up my thighs until he reached the center.
He smirked at me, knowing how bad I wanted him, yet he took his time. Each time I tried pushing myself closer to his face, he pulled them back down with a firm grip. Daveed bit the inside of my thigh then kissed the bruise that began to form.
I whimpered, begging for more until he finally took pity on me. He pulled my hips forward and softly sucked on my clit. My bad arched as I ran the fingers through his hair. Another moan escaped my lips as I felt myself nearing the edge...
Day 4
âThat must have been some dreamâ, Ava giggled as she folded the rest of her clothes
âWhat are you talking about?â, I groaned
âIâm talking about thatâ, she said as she points to the sheets that were now on the floor, âI heard a lot of noise coming from this room and I honestly thought something happened to you...I mean something was happening to you, but you seemed to be enjoying itâ
Gina and Ava burst into a fit of laughter as I buried my face under a pillow. My cheeks were on fire.
âThank God they didnât spend the night. Can you imagine Daveed getting an ear full of that?â
Gina jumped on the bed next to me imitating the noises I was apparently making, âDaveed. Pleaseâ
âOh my God. Shut up!â
âHeâs a gentleman. He wouldnât touch you unless you askedâ, Gina pondered for a moment, âWell after last night--â
âGina! Donât you dareâ
My phone vibrated on the nightstand and Daveedâs name flashed across the screen. The events of last night flooded my memory. There was no way I could have forgotten that kiss.
âHeâs been calling all morning. According to Rafa, he thinks he messed everything up again. Did he?â, Gina asked for once sounding sincere
âI donât knowâŚ.donât think so...not sureâ, I mumbled
âYou could actually talk to him and figure it out. Youâre not in this marriage by yourself, so you should work things out togetherâ, Ava chimed in
I sighed after my phone finally stopped ringing. It vibrated once more, but there were no more calls. Ava and Gina left me on my own and a part of me hated it. I didnât really want to talk to Daveed about my feelings for him because I never saw how this could help the situation we were in in the first place. A part of me wanted to tell him everything was fine, that I liked kissing him because itâs been on mind since he came back.
If I give into my feelings wonât that complicate everything even more? We havenât known each other for long, yet weâre being forced to stay together. What if these feelings are only resurfacing  due to the situation weâre in and not because we really care for each other?
I groaned as I finally unlocked my phone.
Daveed 10:28 am
I understand if youâre mad, confused, or possibly a mix of both, but we should at least talk about it and see where it goes.
Me 10:30 am
Confused is one way to put it but Iâm not mad at you. We can meet at my apartment. 1 oâclock
Daveed 10:31 am
Youâre inviting me back to your apartment?
Me 10:32 am
1 oâclock Diggs
There was enough time for me to be alone with my thoughts for fifteen minutes. I thought by then I would have it all together, but honestly, I had no idea where this was going to go. I was angry, confused, and disappointed. At exactly one oâclock, there was a knock on the door.
âHeyâ
âHi Daveedâ
Just like the first time he came over, he stood in my living room with no idea what to do with himself. The soft smile he usually wore was long gone. He was just as lost as I was.
âYou can sit down if you wantâ, I said as I took a seat
âThanksâ, he sat down, only a cushion away from me, and finally looked me in the eye, âIâm sorry about  yesterdayâ
âWhy did you do it?â, I asked as I fiddled with the hem of my shirt, avoiding eye contact
âA mix between being caught in the moment and something Iâve wanted to do for a whileâ
âY..youâve wanted to that for a while? What happened to just being friends?â
âOf course I still think we should be friendsâ, he hesitated as he ran his fingers through his hair, âEven if it hasnât changed how I feel about you. I know how I feel, but I donât know how you feel about meâ
In that moment, I wanted nothing more than to just disappear. If we were going to get through this, there is no reason for us to continue on like this. The relationship we have now is just starting to bud and any form of romantic feelings will do ruin everything.
âWhat were you confused about? Arenât you the one that said we should work on being friends?â, he asked breaking me out of my silence
âArenât you the one that agreed to it, then decided to kiss meâ, I nearly yelled, âThings are already complicated as is and then you kiss me in the heat of the moment!â
End it already.
âMaybe I shouldnât have kissed you last night. Depends on how you look at it. All I know is that I like yo--â
Itâs easier this way.
âI regretted itâ, I blurted out
âWhat?â, he gasped as his eyes widened
âThat kiss never should have happened Daveed. Iâm not mad at you, but you shouldnât have done it. I feel like you shouldâve known this by nowâ
âIâŚâ, he squeezed his eyes shut and ran his fingers through his hair again, âOkay (Y/N)â
Before I could say anything else, he stepped out, slamming the door behind him. I desperately wanted to run after Daveed to tell him that I wanted to be with him, but everything in me was telling me to let it go. This was for the best.
Day 5
I sat outside the door of Dr. Harrisâ office as patiently as I could. In five minutes our session would begin and I had not heard a word from Daveed. Not that I expected him to say anything else to me after last night.
The office door opened and a woman that was about my height stepped out.
âMr. and Mrs. Diggsâ, she called as she looked up from her notepad
As soon as her eyes landed on me a gush of wind blew in. Daveed stepped in and his eyes immediately fell on me, he was completely unfazed. He shook Dr. Harrisâ hand and smiled.
âIâm Daveed. This is my wife, (Y/N)â
âItâs nice to meet you both. Come on inâ, she stepped aside and he let me go in first
I took a seat and he made sure to sit two cushions away from me. The second we made eye contact again he sent a glare my way.
âYou two have an interesting case. Getting married in Vegas without even knowing it and now you have a 30 day trial on your marriageâ, she smiled softly as she looked up from her notepad, âWhat was your initial reaction to finding out you were married?â
â(Y/N) found out first. How did it make you feel honey?, he retorted
His angry glare never left me, yet it always disappears the moment Dr. Harris looked in his direction.
âI came home after a tough day at work. It felt like everything was going wrong, so imagine my surprise when I found out my one night stand was now my husband. Imaging trying your hardest to forget about him and that amazing night we had, then that happensâ
âHow did you feel?â, she reiterated
âI felt stressed, scared, I didnât know what to do. I thought he didnât want anything to do with me. He had my number and he chose not to see where it could have took us. I knew he was rejecting me. So, I was pretty hurt tooâ, I sighed as I fumbled with the bracelet I took off my wrist
âDaveed?â
âShocked I guess. We had a good time together and we were going to see where it went, but I convinced myself it wasnât going to work out. We lived on different sides of the country so I didnât go through with it. When she contacted me, I saw it as another shotâ
We spent most of the session filling her in on what happened before we got married, how we felt about each other initially, how we felt about the night after and before we left. Nothing new to us. Although it did make more sense as to why it seemed like Daveed wanted to stay married.
âWhere is your relationship at the moment?â
âWhat relationship?â, he scoffed
âAre you two dating? How has everything played out since you came to New York?â
âWe decided to be friends, we kissed, she regretted it, here we areâ
âIs it hard being just friends with her?â
âOf course it is. At first, I thought it was best to stay friends, then I started to regret it. My feelings for her havenât changed and I didnât know what to do. Then two days ago, I found myself doing something Iâve been waiting to do for a while now and she regrets itâ, he sneered, âI felt so stupid for thinking that would workâ
Silence fell over the room as she looked up from her clipboard, gauging Daveedâs reaction, then mine. He didnât look her in the face, instead his looked down in his lap. Every remnant of his smile was gone. This was different from the look I initially saw last night. He went from lost to angry and hurt.
âHow did you react to Daveed kissing you? How did it make you feel?â
âI-IâŚâ, my eyes were still on Daveed and nothing came to mind
âHow did you feel (Y/N)â, he chimed in, âTell her what you told meâ
âI did like kissing him, but I told him that he shouldnât have done it  in the heat of the moment. I regretted kissing him back because everything we agreed on was thrown out the window. How else are we supposed to get through the next month together?â
âMaybe we can start by not pretending that we donât see whatâs between usâ, he nearly yelled, âYou want me to just go back to pretending that I never had feelings for you in the first placeâ
âOh come on Daveed, weâve known each other for all of two seconds. What do you honestly think will come of thisâ, I countered, motioning between us, âWhy would I choose to stay married to a complete stranger? This situation is not ideal for either of us, but for some reason you need it to beâ
For the second time I watched him run his fingers through his hair and squeeze his eyes shut as he let out a pained sigh.
âI donât want this to be ideal for the both of us and I donât want us to stay married. I wanted you to realize that I didnât mean to hurt you and saw this as a second chance to see if things would work out together. Yes, weâre married, but I still wanted to see if what happened and what we felt in Vegas was still there. Whether weâre married or not, I still wanted to be with you, but Iâm fully aware that I had it all wrong. Youâre obviously not the same personâ
I wasnât sure what hurt more: the fact that there was no expression on his face or the fact that he wouldnât even look me in the eye.
âI have nothing left to say to herâ
âWe can end early if you want. Iâll see you two in a weekâ, she smiled softly, yet her eyes betrayed us, deep down she knew neither of us wanted to be in the situation and it was causing issues for the both of us
My chest tightened and my vision blurred with unshed tears. I hated that we were in this situation in the first place. In a perfect world, we would be together without the marriage.
I got in the elevator, blinking the tears away, and he stepped in beside me. As we descended, the pain in my chest only grew tighter. Seeing the conflicted look on his face made it so much worse.
âDaveedâ, I started softly, â IâŚâ
âSave it (Y/N). What else could you possibly have to say? Given that everything you say ends up backfiring and hurting me, how about you just speaking to me all togetherâ, he sneered as he zipped up his coat as the elevator doors opened, âIâll see you next week, Mrs. Diggsâ
Seeing his intense glare made me freeze in place. This was the last thing I wanted to do to him.
He stepped out of the elevator and disappeared into the crowded street leaving me alone as the guilt seeped in.

Neil Diamond is okay, I guess.
Written with TDL.Â
The ride has been awfully silent thus far. Not that it was due to negative vibes. Just awkwardness possibly without Mameha being present with them. Adrienne couldnât tell if The Dragon Lady was smiling due to her being masked. It certainly confused the driver but Adrienne didnât care. She knew her partner was very committed to this so who was she to argue? So en route to the arena for some obligations, Adrienne thought itâd be a great idea for the team to ride over together after a brief training session at her partnerâs gym. The driver kept eyeing them both warily so Adrienne smiled politely to his reflection in the rearview mirror and then broke the ice. Â Â âSo, uh, what do you like to do?â Adrienne asked as she put aside her cellphone. The 177th level of Candy Crush could wait until later. Â Â The Dragon Lady gripped the front of her belt with both hands. Still feeling a little insecure with Adrienne. And not because Adrienne was some mean or hostile person. It would be quite the opposite of that. The Dragon Lady looked over at Adrienne and replied, "You mean besides trying to wrestle?" Â Â She went silent a moment and then stared forwards again. Â Â "I used to be a teacher's assistant before I came here to Baltimore. Never liked it much. Kinda did it because my ma wanted me to be some amazing smart woman. I thought I could do it. But just wasn't me. I haven't gone down there yet, but thinking about going down to the local nursing home. Maybe do some volunteer work for some older people. It's," she went silent again as she looked to be trying to find the right words to say, "easier to listen than talk for me. Thought I could listen to some interesting stories from the past. Try to get my brain to slow down with all the thoughts going on up there." Â Â âThatâs okay. Iâm afraid my life isnât very interesting. Iâd tell you about all of the cool people Iâve met lately but itâs kind of obvious.â Â Â Adrienne thought a little about what she said. This was the most The Dragon Lady had spoken to her directly. Sheâd cut a few promos but the rookie knew from experience that doing that sort of talk was quite different. Â Â âI can understand managing the expectations others have for you. My mom wanted me to be a nurse before all of this.â Â Â However, she was persistent and wanted to learn more about someone about this woman. It was clear that beyond the tough and mysterious exterior, there was an individual who believed in what was right. Â Â âBut, yes, besides wrestling, what do you like to do? Like for fun?â Â Â "Think about Matt Knox," she said not even realizing what had come out of her mouth. Too late. Â Â "Don't ever," she looked at Adrienne sounding completely embarrassed. "Don't ever tell him that. He has a big enough ego as it is. And I mean I don't think about him like all the time either. Just you know." Â Â Even with her mask on Adrienne would be able to see the tops of her cheeks are red. And her ears have also turned bright red. Â Â "Sometimes," she said. Â Â Adrienne nodded respectfully. Â Â She looked away again. Loosening her grip on the belt she held between her hands trying to look like she is at ease which is not the case. Â Â The Dragon Lady changed the subject. Â Â "I like watching movies. All types of movies. As I said, I'm not a people person very much. I find my escape with movies and popcorn." With that she stayed silent, planning to bring up Matt again now that it's brought up. "But no. Seriously. You seem like one of Matt's close friends here. Why haven't you told him he should rest after that ugly match he had with LRK?" Â Â She sounded legit concerned for Matt. "I already know he's stubborn. I can tell. Did you try to talk to him?" She would not sound mad at Adrienne. The Dragon Lady's words came off more intrigued by the whole situation. Â Â âI tried.â Â Â Zane King was a touchy subject. Despite a clearing of the air, King had still crushed her windpipe due to pure circumstance. Like The Dragon Lady, Zane covered his face but the dreadful smelling leather covering seemed to be more of an extension of his body than just a mask. What King did to Matt Knox was too far whether he accepted the fight or not. Zane King couldnât keep getting away with this but who could even stop him? Â Â The driver turned up the radio slightly, interrupting her train of thought. Adrienne wasnât a big fan of Neil Diamond but she was too nice to say anything. Â Â Adrienne smiled with the sudden realization of this womanâs admission. It was the sort of obvious but it would be rude to point that out. The innocent gift left to Matt told her everything she needed to know. Â Â âHe does what he wants. I can suggest it. I can plead. But Matt revels in destruction. Even if itâs his own.â Â Â The Dragon Lady looked to be someplace far away from this little car. She took a deep breath then, "Most men are like that. Believe me. I know." She definitely wouldn't have been referring to any boyfriend or past lover when she said this. She simply thought of her father. A man who also reveled in destruction. To himself. To the Dragon lady. To everyone in his past. Â Â The Dragon Lady changed the subject again. "So what is it? That you see in Axton Gunn? I listened to a bit of his music. Guess it just wasn't my style." The Dragon Lady looked at Adrienne for this answer very curious. As she had already mentioned for their match against the young man, she was his number one fan. Â Â âI wasnât being dramatic when I talked about the impact he made. I guess youâre right. Iâm just a huge fan. In the last few years, Axtonâs music was sometimes the only barrier I had.â Â Â Adrienne said this with hesitation. The barrier could be literal in a sense. Memories flooded in during those long road trips where her ex-husband would find one thing, one little thing, to harp on the entire trip. Eventually, sheâd covertly slip in earbud into her âGunn Showâ playlist. It could be his music. It could be just his interviews. He loved listening to him talk as he was so passionate about the right things. Â Â âI know he made a bad first impression.â Â Â Early on, she had some suspicions that there were some ulterior motives to Axtonâs conduct. But he checked Hawke almost immediately as the young man just laid into Adrienne about supposedly being a hypocrite. Â Â âBut that canât be our focus.â Adrienne paused a beat. This was as a good time as ever to bring this up. They had been successful against Matthews and Goode despite what she had seen throughout that evening. âAnd Alex canât be either. Gunn and Hawke are counting on distractions.â Â Â The Dragon Lady kicked the back of the Uber driver's seat then. Not hard but enough to get his attention. "I can't think with that music on. Will you please, turn it down?" Â Â The radio was muted without further incident. Â Â The Dragon Lady looked back at Adrienne not looking mad. She looked serious. "I know. It's just so hard for me with Alex. Anytime I see his face or hear his name," she shook her head looking a bit frustrated. "I just want to punch him. Or something." Â Â She let out a heavy shaking breath looking to be trying to calm herself. "I guess there's been to many people like Alex that have come into my little space. I am sorry if I ever seem distracted. I truly am trying. And I truly can't lie when I still want to punch him so bad. I wish. I wish I was different. Some person that could always just let things bounce off of me without a care in the world. Kinda like Alex. I guess. But I wouldn't be a prick about it like he is being." Â Â âIâm not worried about what happens in the ring as so much what effect he has on you outside of it. When Alex first appeared, he went right after me. And I bit.â Adrienne shared. She didnât regret standing up for himself and capturing her first victory against the man who promised to do horrible things to her was certainly sweet. However, it only seemed to make him bold. The embarrassment he suffered made him desperate and that was clearly recognized by those in power. Â Â âGo after him for your own satisfaction. But know that heâll never learn his lesson. Heâs like one of punching bags that just stands right back up after being knocked over.â Â Â There was a silence between the two as the Winter matter was put to bed. Â Â She reached a hand over to Adrienne then. Resting it very lightly on her knee, patting it. "For the record, I never thought you were being dramatic about anything you said about Axton or Sebastian. I believe you. Of all people, I believe you when you say you think Axton may be a good guy. He hasn't proved himself yet though. And if he wants me to think differently. Well, he's going to need to get a bit more creative. Maybe take me to an all you can eat seafood buffet. But not until someone else does." Â Â She was smiling under her mask now, even if Adrienne couldn't see it. She pulled her hand back then. This closeness to someone felt foreign. The Dragon Lady would say then, "So tell me, what is it you enjoy doing for fun?" Â Â Adrienne could admit that she maybe twice a week she liked to drink that bottle of cheap wine and watch the Real Housewives of whatever iteration there was on currently. Although she didnât want to come off as the company lush or anything like that. Â Â âI donât know. Iâm kind of like you in that respect. Although, I really like hanging out with my friends. Always looking for new friends, too.â She said with an obvious implication. Â Â The Dragon Lady looked at Adrienne as the taxi pulled into the Carnage parking lot. Many things went through her brain after Adrienne said the words on her mind. "Well perhaps sometime," she paused before continuing to speak. "Perhaps sometime you can show me more of the harbor. It would be an honor if you did." She balled a hand intonation fist then as the other was open palm next to it. A sign of respect from The Dragon Lady. Â Â "It has already been an honor to work with someone so fine in their own special way." Â Â âIâd like that,â Adrienne replied with a smile. Â Â The Dragon Lady then reached into her getup bringing forth more than enough to pay for the ride. She handed it to the taxi driver. Â Â "Keep the change," her eyes went back to Adrienne. "Until we see each other in the ring again. I look forward to this match and the next." Â Â With that, The Dragon Lady slipped out of the Uber. She walked inside the Carnage Pavillion to find food. Â Â Adrienne looked to the driver briefly. Â Â âHave a good day, sir!â She said before running to catch up with The Dragon Lady. Adrienne averted a crisis by not tripping over her untied shoelace, instead stumbling a bit before catching herself. Â Â Thankfully, no one saw.

srry to be pestering you with asks, but I realized that I hold adrienne on a way to high pedestal, so pls tell me bad stuff she did, she couldn't be so perfect all the time now, could she?
Dear @msrandonstuff,
what a silly notion that your questions would pester me. I love your asks, so please keep them coming! :-)
I absolutely agree with you, nobody is perfect and Adrienne was certainly no exception. However, this question is not as easy to answer as one might think. There are a few things that most people could agree upon that are bad. Adultery for example is almost universally frowned upon - from all that we know, Adrienne had next to none of these âmajorâ character flaws. She was a dutiful wife and a loving mother, she was pious and humble, obedient and enduring. There are âmilderâ character flaws that often lie in the eyes of the beholder. Something that I find commendable might be looked down upon by you or the other way around.
Two examples that come to my mind are firstly Adrienneâs religious beliefs. Even some of her contemporaries thought she was rather overdoing it. Her own husband for example was sometimes wary of his wives believes. I for one find her devotion inspiring but not everybody would share that opinion.
Another point of critique is secondly her very obedient nature. Adrienne proofed time and time again, especially during the French Revolution, that she was an intelligent and strong minded person, capable of keeping her family safe and of coming up with strategies even during the most desperate of times. When she decided to submit quietly to her husbandâs wishes, it was just that. A decision and not necessitated by a lack of talents. Modern researches especially have pointed out that Adrienne should have more often taken a stand and spoken up.
The greatest problem with this answer is that you and me might put Adrienne on a pedestal, but her family basically worshipped her, especially after her untimely death. They had almost complete control over the narrative. The most important sources about the inner workings of the La Fayette family are La Fayetteâs memoirs, Virginieâs books, the memoirs if Adrienneâs sister and the writing from very close and intimate family friends (SĂŠgur and Cloquet for example.) None of them would have written a single bad word about Adrienne, even if there were something to write about. The family also had complete control about their letters and could have easily protected Adrienneâs legacy by destroying or withholding damming letters.
In short, Adrienne was a very agreeable person to be around and some character flaws have to be assessed by each person individually. If there had been material that would have presented her in a bad light, her family would have probably kept it from the public eye.
If you were to systematically go through all of the familyâs letters and writings, through the memoirs and the associated memoirs, you might find a story or two but that would take some time.
I hope you have/had an awesome day!

78: Write about coming across some information that you werenât meant to find, please!
Oh, friend. This is a scene I have wanted to write for about two years now, and now here it is, in all of its overdramatic glory. Â
It was like something out of a bad dream - his writing case open on the desk and nearly two years of correspondence spread over his study as though a spy had come through, looking for state secrets.
But there was no spy in his bedroom - no open window or half-closed door indicating an escape. Just Adrienne, pacing in the midst of the chaos, ripping through his letters with a look of growing revulsion on her face. She turned on her heel as he came through the door and snarled.
"Who is she, Gilbert?" she demanded, crossing the room like an avenging angel and gesturing with a packet of letters so violently they slipped from their ribbon and spilled across the floor. "Colombine or Marguerite or whatever her name is! Who is she?"
Gilbert looked from the spilled letters on the floor to the now-empty ribbon in his wife's hand to her face, teeth bared as though she were no longer a woman but a wolf, and found himself entirely unmoved. Â Let her rage. It was the most emotional he'd ever seen her in five years of marriage, and he didn't care. There was little point in denying it now, and the feeling gave him a remarkable sense of calm. So, now they would have it out. "My lover," he said flatly.
"You'd corrupt our marriage vows for a camp follower? A ....a shameless hussy with a smile for every passing soldier?"
"And you'd break them over a captain in the dragoons," Gilbert said in riposte. . Oh, if she was about to call him to account then there were two who could play that game. Adrienne stopped as though he'd struck her. "Yes, while we're throwing stones, Adrienne, let's talk about Georges Trenault and men who sleep with married women while their husbands are away."
"You abandoned me and betrayed the orders of your king!"
"And that excuses it?" You abandoned me and this marriage even before I'd even left.
"He's a man of our class, and this slut is a -"
"An honorable woman who made me return to you without so much as a wimper," Gilbert shouted angrily, before his wife could finish. "And one who prays for you and your children every night, though I doubt you'd so much as smile at her in the street.â Â He was seething now, and he didn't much care for politicking or politeness. He was through pretending. "I would have stayed, you know. There were reports of my death here in France; I had money, had friends who would help me. It would have been easy for me to disappear. But she would not let me do it. You have a wife, she said. You have a daughter who needs her father. Â My General bade me come back to France, and it would have been easy enough to return with a mistress - but she thought again to spare your feelings. You, who stand there with your own lover and call her a whore. So say what you like about me but do not - do not - slander her."
He was towering over her now, his full six feet in use to great effect, angry not for himself but for a woman who was not there to defend herself, glaring down at Adrienne with all the scorn he could muster. You didn't want me when you had me, Adrienne de Noailles, and now like a spoiled child you want your toy back after you've thrown it away and another girl has picked it up. But I'm not a doll, and I'm done being ignored. "You are my wife, and entitled to all the rights and privileges of that office under the law. While I am home you shall come with me to court, and dance, and share the splendor of my now-risen sun, as you so wanted. You have my name, my children, my property, and the company of my bed, but do not think for one minute, Adrienne, that you are entitled to my heart - a heart you never wanted until now."
She stared at him, aghast that he had stood his ground, and, seeing he would not be moved, ran from the room, sobbing. Gilbert looked out the open door and found himself deflating, the bluster of his anger gone. The disarray of the room came back into focus, the mess of letters on the floor. He looked around and sighed, sitting down heavily on the bed so he could pick up a letter and turn it over in his hands, the handwriting familiar and calm.
"Her name is Margaret," he said quietly to the empty room. "And she is a far better woman than I deserve."

To Know
Sorry itâs been a little while - things have just been... A Lot lately. But here it is, the third recovered fic that almost got lost way back when, and the sequel to Love. (If youâre a new reader, this is a series that started with Flirtation, and they can all be found in my my-fanfiction tag or on my AO3!) Next thereâll be another ficlet set shortly after this one, and after that thereâs just one more planned for this whole arc. And thatâs just the beginning for what I wanna do right now...!
âSo!â Lafayette clapped his hands. âIt seems you both, your <i>argument</i>, has been solved!â
âAh...â John began, but Alexander cut in first.
âIt has indeed â you may rest easy, now.â
âMay I?â Lafayette stepped into the room completely and closed the door, looking back and forth between them. âYou have both, really...?â
John's stomach clenched, but once more, his response was unneeded.
âWe have.â Alexander spoke without hesitation.
Lafayette gasped with joy, hands clasping together tightly. âOh! I am so very happy for you both!â
John glanced nervously at the door. The window was still bright, casting long beams across the floor, and the camp was bustling with activity beyond.
But Alexander was still smiling. âAs am I.â
âOh!â Gilbert sighed dramatically, his hand to his chest. âI am filled with memories â me and my dear Adrienne, when first we met! We knew it instantly, that it was love!â
âYes... it is truly a wonderful feeling.â
âBut she is so far! I wish she were here with me, now... Letters cannot properly send the feeling between husband and wife!â
With a smirk, Alex asked, âWhat kind of feeling are you most missing, precisely?â
Lafayette rolled his eyes. âIt is cruel of you to mock me in this manner, when you have no troubles at all of it.â
Alexander laughed, purely and easily.
John frowned.
âI don't know why,â he said, without intending to speak at all, âyou're all fine with this.â
The room fell silent.
John avoided their eyes. He felt guilty, now, for spoiling the mood. They had been happy â why couldn't he let it be?
â...what I do with you,â Alexander said finally; John raised his eyes. â...I do out of friendship, and love.â
âSo the meaning purifies the action?â
âYes.â
Gilbert looked uncomfortable. John tried to ignore him.
âAnd how do you know it doesn't work the other way?â he asked.
âBecause I've felt it â love transforming the action, which may otherwise be bad.â
âHow it <i>feels</i> changes nothing. It is a sin regardless.â
Alexander shifted. His expression was tight again, and John remembered it from the other day, when he had been distant.
âWe are at war,â he said.
âObviously.â John resisted the urge to cross his arms irritably.
âIn waging this, we commit many actions which would otherwise be immoral. Killing, stealing.â
John's stomach only clenched tighter. âSo that makes this acceptable?â
Alexander shrugged. âThe virtues which we strive for â liberty, equality â they justify these otherwise immoral actions. So does our love.â
John hated this. Once more, the Alexander looking at him seemed made out of stone. It was frightening, how quickly and undetectably he could make himself feel a stranger.
<i>...there â I don't have a response to that. Are you happy now?</i> He said, instead: âdo you really believe that?â
Alexander glared at him for a few moments.
âIf you don't want to do this, we will stop.â
John pursed his lips.
After several moments, Alexander rose. âI believe I will work on a letter I have yet to write,â he said almost in passing as he crossed the room.
John and Gilbert watched the door as it closed.
<i>I want to know</i>, John thought. <i>Please. You can explain anything â explain this to me.</i>
â...I offended him,â he murmured.
âNo, no!â Lafayette spoke in a rush. âNot at all â what would make you think that?â
A cloud has passed over the sky, shrouding the room in grey. Still men trudged and shouted out in the snow. John fiddled with a clasp on his uniform.
He spoke quietly. â...when we first kissed, he was so happy. I want that for him. I want to share that with him. But I keep ruining it.â
Lafayette looked so sad all of a sudden that John immediately wanted to take it back.
âMy dear John... Alexander loves you. Everyone can see that! You are not ruining anything, you cannot!â
âBut-â
âIt is just - I think he is worried.â
John grunted, looking at the ground. âIt doesn't seem like it.â
Gilbert glared at him. âThat is mean. He is not an idiot.â
John bit his lip. He deserved that.
With a loud sigh, Gilbert leaned back in his chair. âBut he is Alexander. He... he does not do things lightly. If he says he loves you, he does. And he will want more than anything you love him too, the same.â
John hated this as well: that he agreed with Gilbert utterly. He had waited like a coward for Alexander to begin this, and still rarely spoke an improper word to him that Alexander did not say first. It was not fair to push responsibility for that onto him, and then complain of him not considering the risks. He took part just as willingly where it mattered.
âEverything you say, Alexander must know too. So if you argue him... what can he say?â Gilbert shrugged. âPerhaps he worries you feel pushed...â
Of course he did. When had John ever given the impression this connection was not a burden to him? That he would not leave immediately if he had the option?
â...that's not the case.â John scratched his neck, highly uncomfortable. âI made my own decision. And... he is not... the first man, I have...â
Lafayette gasped. âI did not know that!â
John shrugged, awkwardly.
âJust once, or...?â
âJust... one.â
He peered at John. âIt did not end well?
John grimaced.
He would never have worried about offending Francis like this. He had brought it up only once, ever â and Francis had replied that during the event, he could forget the question entirely. He hadn't asked what John felt in response.
â...my dear John.â Lafayette was watching him softly. â...it really is true: there is no need for you to continue if you do not wish to. Your Hamilton â he already knows your feelings. He will understand.â
<i>No, he doesn't</i>, John thought, <i>because</i> I <i>barely know my feelings.</i>
He had thought he loved Alexander, in the truest and fullest way one may love a friend, at the turn of the year, when he had worried himself to death over Alexander's health, or when he had been so immeasurably relieved to see him returned. But what he felt now was already so incomparably different. It had grown before his eyes, between his palms â each new shoot a delight, each bud a marvel.
Every day he seemed to find more and more reasons to love him, in more and more ways. Where were the syllables that could express the light in his heart when his eyes caught Alexander's? What colours could capture the spirit of that, what lines? He was a selfish and shuttered man who could not pour out his feelings through a gesture or the touch of a hand. Alexander smiled at him when he smiled, but he was sure, deep in his heart, that he did not <i>know</i> â that there was so much more for him held within John, which he did not know how to give.
Only when they were intimate did it come close. When Alexander touched him as he had that night, and John mimicked his movements clumsily â only then could he manifest, with the strength of his kisses or the pull of his hands, the true content of his heart.
To end that now â he would cut his amour at the needs.
He wanted to know it. To know <i>Alexander</i> â why he retreated from John's questioning, why he explained their sin that way, why it was so important to him to call them 'lovers'. He wanted to know every part of him, because every part of him was worthy of love â a sculpture found within the marble with careful patience, each facet gleaming.
But they would have so little time together. They could die in uncountable ways â Alexander's illness little more than a month ago was proof of that, and John knew that he would not survive the war.
He could not destroy it now. His hands would falter, eternally.
He wanted this. To know Alexander, and be known â separately, and together.
He shook his head. âNo. Not now.â
#lams#my fanfiction#hamilton#laurens#was gonna reply to messages before finishing this off but this turned out to be easier;;#sorry I'll get to them next;;;#I really do enjoy writing though... :)#fun fact: in the original draft of Love Lafayette had just one line that was basically 'no you guys shouldn't fight!!!'#as with everything lafayette says it was Very Important but sadly could not survive the rewrite

Pfeiffer Syndrome Awareness Month
My son is one in 100,000 babies born with Pfeiffer syndrome. Due to his syndrome, he has complex medical needs and a facial difference. Since March is Pfeiffer Syndrome Awareness Month, I want to celebrate by educating as many people as I can about Pfeiffer syndrome to create acceptance for my son and all of the other people in the world with this rare syndrome.
The main medical complication in people with Pfeiffer Syndrome is called craniosynostosis. I know this is is a beast of a word, so I will do my best to break it down.
cranio â skull
syn â together
ostosis- relating to bone
Typically when a baby is born their skull is made up of different bones that are held together by joints made of fibrous tissue. These joints are called sutures. In most children, these remain open until around the age of two in order to allow the head to expand and accommodate brain growth.
In children with Pfeiffer Syndrome these sutures close before brain growth is complete. Some babies sutures are fused at birth. Therefore, the brain doesnât have room to develop in its normal pattern. To sum this all up in one sentence, this early fusion of the sutures is called craniosynostosis.
In order to give the brain the space it needs, children with Pfeiffer syndrome undergo an average of 2-4 Cranial Vault Remodeling (CVR) surgeries in their lifetimes. My son was 16 months-old when he underwent his first CVR. Â During this operation, a neurosurgeon performed a craniotomy, which is a fancy way to say he surgically divided my sonâs skull into pieces. Immediately after this, a craniofacial surgeon rearranged these pieces in a way that opened up the space that his brain needs to grow. Dissolvable stitches hold his new skull formation into place.
Other than necessary skull surgeries, there is no way to know what other issues a child with Pfeiffer syndrome will encounter. Some children are born with fused fingers and toes, intestinal malrotations and hydrocephalus. Others end up needing tracheostomies, hearing aides and feeding tubes.
So far my son lives with three extra medical needs.
Due to his narrow upper airway, my son suffers from obstructive sleep apnea. At night he wears a CPAP machine to help with his breathing. He also takes medicine every day for his severe acid reflux. His reflux is so painful for him that, if we donât treat it, he has spasms where it looks like he stops breathing (Sandifer syndrome). He is also missing a muscle in his left eye and he will undergo surgery this later this year to start correcting the resulting misalignment in his vision.
I am unsure of what other physical difficulties my son will face over the years, but I know that there will be social issues for him due to his syndrome. Children with Pfeiffer have a distinctive appearance because the bones in their faces grow differently. Â One feature that typically causes these kids stand out is the unusually large appearance of their eyes. Due to their facial differences, these children are often stared at and teased.
My son has been called âscary,â âcreepyâ and âfreakyâ on many occasions.
Despite their physical differences, most children with Pfeiffer syndrome have normal intelligence. So even if they canât talk because they have a tracheostomy or they canât hear well because of their small ear canals, they understand the words and the stares directed at them. My son is currently too young to understand the comments other children make, but one day he will. I dread that day.

As the mother of a child with complex medical needs and a facial difference, there is nothing I want more in the world than for my son to be accepted.
A new event is being held to support Pfeiffer Syndrome Awareness Month. A Race for Every Face!! 5k & Fun Run! will be held March 30 in San Antonio. My family and I would love for people to join us to fight for awareness for these special people. If you canât make the drive you can also attend virtually! Basically, this means you do the run in Austin as part of your regular morning walk or jog and send in a screenshot of your completion.
