Imagine Addison Carver having to leave you behind.

This really was not what anybody had wanted. Even you didn’t want it to happen, though it was your idea and it was something that you had insisted on. You watched as Addie climbed onto the back of the truck, her legs dangling off the back, and stared at you.

“Don’t look at me like that,” You said, caressing red hairs out of her face. “Everything is going to be alright, you’ll see.”

“I just don’t see why you don’t come with us.” She stated. You leaned your forehead against hers, and felt her eyelashes against your skin.

“I have to protect my own, and they can’t leave here. But I promise you, I’ll find you when I can. This isn’t forever.”

“Days aren’t guaranteed in the apocalypse,” She said, turning away from you. You sucked up the hurt and took a few steps back.

“Neither was us meeting each other, but here we are. Goodbye, Addie.”

“See you later,” She said, refusing the thought of a real goodbye.

Hi, hola, hello. Love your blog❤️ I was wondering if you could do a part 2 to the happier story you did? I don’t really know what to call it, story, imagine, so on so forth. But anyway, I’d really like a part two. I’m assuming you might want to make it a happy ending? Can it be like everybody’s comforting the reader, even Murphy. Everyone pushed 10k and Red away. The reader feels bad and she tells them not to. She tries To talk to 10k so she apologize about it. Red is being a bitch about it, etc

Seventy days

For seventy days you forced yourself to suffer. Punishing yourself in a way by watching him fall in love with her, watching him really fall in love.

For seventy days you fixated on their relationship. Envying the way he touched her, the way he smiled, the way they existed in perfect harmony with each other.

For seventy days you compared yourself to her. Where she was harsh you were kind, where you were sarcastic she was serious. You were polar opposites.

Twenty-five days

Twenty-five days you’ve been receiving encouragement.

Warren, she was the first, wise woman as always she reminded you that your worth isn’t decided by the way other people treat you. 

“Y/N, you’re a treasure to this world, don’t let anyone make you believe anything different. Just because one person can’t see that wonderful doesn’t mean that you’re not. In all the time that I’ve known you all you’ve done is take care of other people to the best of your ability, you’ve risked your life for people you didn’t know. I’ve only ever known you as someone who would give up everything if it meant saving even a few people. Now for me that says you’re an amazing person, but maybe I’ve gotten soft for you over the year.”

“Aha, thanks Warren.

Addison, she was quick to some to your rescue. She reminded you that people will leave, it doesn’t mean that they don’t love you, sometimes one isn’t right for the other.

“Pre-z I dated a few people, most of them were great people, just not great people for me to date. Sometimes they were just meant to be my friends. Now I don’t know what fully went down with you and 10k, but i’m willing to bet he misses you as much as you miss him. Like before whatever when down you guys functioned together so fluidly, and I think if anything you two would still make good friends.

“I had a sneaking suspicion you dated people pre-z, so thanks for clearing that one up for me. And thanks for caring about me.”

Murphy, the one that shocked everyone. He reminded you that, well you’re not sure he reminded you of anything, maybe a father that found his daughter crying prom night.

“Listen kid, nothing lasts forever, relationships especially. Some last a couple hours, others last for years. Your young, and if you were to find love in this crazy fucked up world I don’t think it would have been as easy as you finding 10k. Oh no don’t get all teary eyed on me, ah. What I mean is love is hard to find, I mean look at me, I’m way older than you and I don’t think I’ve ever felt true love, don’t hold on to your first feeling of love like it’s your last or you’ll spend the rest of your life chasing after it.”

“wow smurf, that was surprisingly... not awful.”

Doc, the last to speak about the topic. Maybe he was the last because of how close he was to 10k, maybe he had a hard time coming up with the right things to say. Either way he reminded you of your youth, and how you still had people to meet and a future to make.

“You know i love you, you know i love both of you. That doesn’t mean I don’t notice when you two are being stupid. You’re letting him destroy you, you’re acting like he was all you ever had or ever will have. Hes stupid for not saying anything to you, for not understanding how much he meant to you. Now listen kiddo I know it hurts now, but you cant let it hurt forever, It’ll ruin you for the future, You’ve only just started living, don’t let a little hiccup in the road ruin that.”

“Doc, I can always count on you, I love you too.”

Ten days 

Ten days you watched the group push him and his girl away

They did it for your sake despite your protests. They silently cut them off from the group in small ways, each of them stopped talking to Red, Doc and Addy were the only ones that talked to 10k, even that was just small talk.

You could see the effect it had on 10k, he looked like a hurt puppy. He didn’t sit at the campfire with the rest of the group anymore, instead he sat with Red who would hunt while he cooked the meat she’d gathered earlier

He didn’t sleep near the group anymore, he’d stay near her, sometimes fast asleep, other times you’d catch him. You’d catch him watching the group, watching you more often than not, he looked sorry. You never got to see the sorrow for long, she’d grab his collar and bring him back to lying beside her. It was never a gentle grab there was always some force behind it, not a question a demand.

Five days

Five days you’ve been afraid

Red, she was not kind to you. She gave threat in the disguise of a warning.

“Y/N, I remember the time when 10k would lay beside you at night. Not anymore, remember that? Remember how he left you for me, how he crawls into my bed at night and not yours. Remember that he doesn’t look to you for comfort or back up anymore. He is not yours, he does not love you, he is mine and mine only. Do not get in my way or my clothes will be a darker shade of red.”

Day zero

Day zero she was exiled, left for dead.

Red, she was intimidating. She’d threatened you, she hit him, she’d bruised him. The group didn’t take kindly to it, she swore it was a one time thing as she back away from them, his bruised skin showed other wise. She was pathetic, promising she’d never do it again, she wouldn’t have a chance.

The group packed into the car, leaving her far behind, she followed for a while but she was only human with human speed and no car.

As for 10k he was silent for a while, maybe he was ashamed or he felt guilty or maybe he just didn’t want to talk to you, the only other person in the truck bed.

“I’m sorry”

Neither one of you was sure who said it first but both wondered why the other said it.

“Listen Y/N I shouldn’t have left you like that, you we’re kind and gentle. You loved me, you reminded me of that everyday and I shouldn’t have given that up just because someone new wondered into my life. I love you still and maybe I;m out of line for saying it but I do love you. I was a fool for thinking she could be as good as you in any way.”

“I love you too.”

You didn’t get back together, there were deep wound in your relationship that would take time to heal but friendship could lead to a speedy recovery.

Inside, outside

Pairing: 10k x reader, Addy Carver sister!reader

Warnings: swearing

Chapter: 2.01

You and 10k stand on either side of Doc, holding him up, while Warren leads the way through the junkyard.

“Okay, let’s get you over here,” you say, helping him sit down.

Shortly after taking off on the road again, another van smashed into your truck, causing it to flip. Luckily, nobody was seriously harmed, minus Doc, who had already been shot.

You inspected him. “The bleeding stopped but-”

“Just go,” he cut you off. “Find me a hole to crawl in. Leave me a weapon and some ammo.”

You frowned, “Nobody is leaving you here to die.”

Warren stepped forward and handed Doc a bottle, saying, “Here, take the last of the water.”

It concerned you how weak she looked. “If we wait here too long, we might be too weak to go look for help.”

“I’ve only got a day in me left without water, if that.” She added.

Doc sighed, “Well, I don’t think I’m going anywhere, chief.”

Warren let out a sigh, “Astra, you stay here with Doc. 10k You're coming with me. We are going to see if we can find food or help while we still have strength.” She turned her head to look directly at you. “If we aren’t back in 48 hours, you’re on your own.”

You inhaled sharply. “Okay, be safe.”

Warren nodded, “You too. Keep the old man safe.”

You turned your attention to 10k, who looked worried. You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him in for a hug. “You better come back to us.”

“Always,” he whispered before kissing your cheek and pulling back.

You watched them walk away slowly, as Warren had a slight stagger to her steps.

“Kid, they will be okay,” Doc said, trying to reassure you.

“Absolutely,” you sighed. “Back before we know it.”

Your heart pounded as you walked closer to the Z lying on the side of the road. The dark clothing and shade of red hair were almost an exact match for your sisters. You placed your hand on the back of the leather jacket and turned the body round. You let out a sob. It wasn’t Addy.

Quietly, you walked further away from the rest of your group into the long grass as they set up a small campfire. Doc had managed to find some questionable food for breakfast, but you just needed a moment to yourself before rejoining them.

The tears are falling from your face before your knees even make contact with the ground, and 10k is at your side in a flash. He pulls you close to him as you sob.

“It’s okay to be mad at her,” he says.

You shake your head before wiping away tears. “Not just with her, I’m mad at myself.”

10k looked at you quizzically. He was the only person you’d confided in about how pissed off you were at Addy for choosing the Sisters of Mercy camp over you, over the mission. Every time you saw a Z with red hair, you’d freeze up, unable to shoot until you knew for sure it wasn’t Addison.

“I’m scared that the next time I see my sister, she’s going to be one of those things.”

10k kissed the top of your head, “I know, I know.”

“It’s like we’re in a bad dream, or a TV show. Garnett died, Addy and Mack left. Cassandra still isn’t getting any better. I feel like I’m watching a family slowly break up.”

“You’re my family,” he whispered into your hair. “And I’m not going anywhere.”

“You hear that?” Doc asks.

You nodded. The family sound of the undead approaching was unmistakable.

“Quick, up here.” You whispered, helping him stand up.

You helped Doc get on top of the car before turning and stabbing the dead approaching you in the head. One, two, three... shit, there were too many dead coming at the same time. Doc was in no condition to fight the dead, and you wouldn’t be able to hold them off yourself.

“Astra, come on!” Doc pleaded.

You grabbed hold of an old pipe and ran towards some abandoned cars, making sure to smash the windows as you passed. The Z’s followed the noise as planned as you led them in the opposite direction.

You stopped running just as you reached the top of the step hill. You jumped onto the roof of a busted-up truck to get away from them. You pulled the matches out of your bag and readied your arrow. When the Z’s got close enough you set the arrow alight and fired. The Z closest to you caught fire, and ran forward into the others, causing them to catch fire as well.

All three of them collapsed to the ground as the smell of burning flesh reached your nose.

You waited a moment to see if they would get back up, but when they didn't, you made your way back to Doc, who stared at you bewildered as you sat beside him on the roof of the van.

“Damn, that was bad ass- holy shit, you seeing this?”

You turned to see what he was pointing at. It was Mack. The smile quickly fell from your face when you saw Z’s reaching for him. You shot one in the head just before it reached him.

Mack turned and looked at you, stunned, before running towards you and Doc. You jumped down and hugged him. “I thought they would have killed you,” you confessed. “I’m so glad you're alright.”

Before Mack had the chance to reply, another voice cut in. “Astra..”

“Addy.”

Both of you had tears in your eyes as you made your way to each other.

“I was afraid I'd never see you again,” you mumbled.

Addy stepped back and brushed strands of hair behind your ear. “I knew we'd see each other again,” she smiled. “Mack helped me find you.”

You turned to look at him, “I knew you'd miss me.”

Mack chuckled before rolling his eyes. “Where's everyone else?”

“10k and Warren left to go find help.”

Mack frowned. “Okay, but where’s everyone else.”

You and Doc shared a look, not knowing how to explain everything that happened without reliving it. “Cassandra’s gone, and Murphy left us to die.”

“What?” Both of them asked in unison.

Doc shook his head and said, “We can trade war stories later. Right now, we need to find Warren and 10k.”

“Look, there they are.”

You smiled as Mack slowed down the quad bike to let Warren and 10k jump in with the rest of you. The reunion was short and sweet, as Mack started driving again moments later.

You sat in silence most of the journey, happy with the knowledge that Addy and Mack were safe. You sat comfortably as 10k had one arm slung over your shoulder and the other holding his gun.

“When did you start using guns?” Addy asked, looking at the gun tucked into your belt.

You thought back to the dead guard you’d taken it from. “Only recently, but I still prefer a silent weapon.”

Mack let out a scoff, “what made you change your mind after all this time?”

“Always better to have an extra weapon,” you said, noticing the irritation in his voice.

Warren gave you a knowing look as she said, “You best hope Kurtz died in that explosion, otherwise he’s gonna want some payback.”

You tense up at her words. You knew he most likely died, but you couldn’t help the panic that bubbled in your stomach at the thought of making an enemy of such a powerful man. “I better practise my aim then.”

Addy’s brows pulled together in confusion. “Wait, wait. Who’s Kurtz? And why would he want payback?”

10k, who has been silent through your entire recap of what happened, whispers, “It won’t come to that. If Kurtz is alive, I won’t let him anywhere near you.”

When you entered a town called Cheyenne, Warren told Mack to keep driving as cars slowed down as the drivers glared at your group. They obviously didn’t like outsiders. The sooner you find Murphy and get the hell out of town, the better.

“So here’s the plan,” Warren said, getting everyone’s attention. “We all need to try and think like Murphy. Get inside his zombified head.”

“What a horrifying place to be,” you snorted. “Any dingy bars in this town?”

“Hold on,” 10k looked back, “what about that place?”

You looked at the sign he meant and rolled your eyes. It was a strippers. “Live nude girlz, I’d definitely start there.”

When you pushed the door open, the first thing you noticed was Murphy sitting by the bar. He was dressed like a pimp, and his skin had turned blue.

“Hey guys,” Murphy said as you all entered the bar, as if he'd expected you. “What the hell took you so long?”

“You son of a bitch!” you hissed, stepping forward. “You left us all to die.”

“Yeah,” Doc says, standing behind you. “What she said.”

“Now, now, Astra. Is that any way to talk to an old friend?” He resorted cockily.

Warren stepped forward and shoved him into the bar, with a deathly glare in her eyes. “You damn well almost got us killed, and you did kill millions of other people.”

“Didn’t you get the memo?” He shrugged. “The apocalypse means never having to say you’re sorry. I was just following the prime directive of this mission. Save Murphy's ass. If I die, the party’s over for the human race.” He turned to look directly at you. “You want to blame someone? Blame that nut-job doctor, Kurian. Or how about Astra? If you had actually killed him, then I wouldn’t be on the run. So that part is on you.”

10k cut him off. “Maybe we should tie you up for your own good- Cassandra?”

“Cass?” Cassandra stood in front of 10k, and you were taken aback. When you looked into her eyes, you could see she was no longer human, nor dead. You clenched your teeth together, “What did you do to her?”

“Saved her life,” Murphy said defensively. “What did you do?”

Cassandra suddenly shoved 10k back and let out a hissing noise. You took in her outfit, she was wearing a white fur coat and her clothes underneath resembled underwear. “Why is she dressed like a hooker?”

“You try dressing her classy.”

Murphy was one sick bastard.

Doc shook his head, “is anybody else concerned with all these Z’s standing around here?”

“Don’t worry. They’re friendly. As long as I’m friendly,” Murphy said smugly.

Before anyone had the chance to protest, Murphy decided to show everyone the ‘show’ had been rehearsing for. Grimacing, you grabbed two bottles of whisky and handed one to Doc before taking a gulp from the other and handing it off to someone else.

A zombie stripper came on stage and began dancing. What the fuck. After spinning on the pole so many times, the Z’s body became detached from its arm, causing it to land on the ground. Murphy laughed, asking everyone to give the dancer a round of applause.

“Is this a private show or can anybody watch?” The man asked, entering the room clapping. “Ah... ah... ah…” he said when you reached for your weapon and raised his gun. “Leave your weapons right where they are. Don’t make me have to shoot anybody. There are enough zombies in this world already.”

“What do you want?”

The man looked up at the stage and said, “Your name wouldn’t happen to be Murphy, would it?”

“Nope.”

The man didn’t buy his lie. “A lot of people are looking for you, Mr. Murphy.”

“Is that so?” He sassed.

“This man,” Warren said as she took a step forward, her hands raised. “He’s our prisoner.”

“Well, he’s my prisoner now,” the man smiled.

While everyone began arguing over who was ‘taking’ Murphy, he grew impatient. “The problem with all of this planning is that I’m not going anywhere with any of you. Hit it!”

Cassandra flicked a switch that turned on music and party lights, causing all the other Z’s to wake from their slumber.

You used whatever you could to fight the Z’s off. Broken glass, your knife, billiard balls. In the corner of your eye, you saw the man who wanted to steal Murphy struggling to fight off two Z’s. Damn it. You stabbed one of them in the head with a broken bottle, before shooting the other in the head.

“Everyone needs to go now!” Warren called out.

You all followed her lead and ran towards the exit. You wouldn’t be able to catch Murphy now, but at least you would still get out alive. Once outside, you wiped yourself down before reloading your weapon.

10k looked around, “any idea which way Murphy went?”

Just as the words came out of his mouth, a car went screeching past, "that way, I’m guessing."

Within seconds, everyone was running after Murphy and Cassandra.
