ms dana cyberdragoninfinity do you have any yugioh spinoff merch hunting tips 👉👈🥺
YESSSS WHIRLS AROUND IN MY BIG SPINNING CHAIR. i Love merch hunting and giving merch hunting tips, there's a whole beautiful world of often remarkably inexpensive yugioh merch out there and once you learn how to track it down a new chapter of your life can truly begin. I bestow onto you some of my advice gleaned from about two and a half years of Searching For Merch Like a Tuffle-Sniffing Hog:
(note: while im specifically focusing on ygo spinoff merch here, you can use this advice to find all kinds of cool japan-exclusive merch!! im constantly getting japanese pokemon merch via tips like these, for example.)
Anyway, MERCH HUNTING TIP NUMBER ONE:
Tumblr media
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT BUT JAPANESE EXCLUSIVE MERCH ON EBAY. DONT. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
HEAVY SIGH. ebay can be such a useful site but not for this. good god not for this. You might luck out with a stray deal here or there but stuff like japanese exclusive yugioh merch on ebay tends to more often than not be sold for OUTRAGEOUSLY high prices and maybe it's not technically a scam but well your wallet aint gonna be happy about it. Stuff like tiny Cospa keychains get sold for $30, $40, 80 FUCKING US AMERICAN DOLLARS. AND SHIPPING. LOOK AT THIS SHIT
Tumblr media
ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS??!??! NIGHTMARE. NIGHTMARE. do not buy spinoff merch from ebay!! INSTEAD....
Tumblr media
TIP TWO: come with me. to proxy buying service ❤❤❤❤
I love proxy services SO much. Basically theyre sites that will buy stuff from Japanese shopping sites on your behalf, then hold the goodies in their warehouse until you're ready to ship them over to you! They RULE. THEY ARE LIFECHANGING, FOR THE HUMBLE MERCH HUNTER. And they're all pretty intuitive to learn how to use, theyve got pretty solid FAQs and they'll walk you through how to request items, and theyll often let you search for merch ON their website, making the buying process even easier!
(There's a whole bunch of 'em, though and they all have different fees and amounts of time they'll hold your stuff for free, so you have to do some poking around and figure out which one you like using the most! My favorite go-to is Neokyo, personally; they have some great discount sales, they hold your stuff for free for 45 days, and their item request fees are all really reasonable!! I LOVE THEM. BEEN USING EM FOR YEARS NOW <3)
Anyway the point here, re: proxy sites, not only do they give you easy access to japanese resale sites and all the merch being sold on 'em, it also gives you access to tWay, Way, Waaaaayyy Lower Prices for trinkets and goodies. Like. look at this listing from Mercari JPN (viewed on Neokyo's site,) of the $125 Jack Atlas Phone Charm from my first tip
Tumblr media
yeah that is, um. the same charm. AND two other adorable charms. FOR 13 AMERICAN DOLLARS. THIRTEEN. THAT IS. LITERALLY LIKE 90% CHEAPER THAN THAT EBAY LISTING. AND YOURE GETTING MORE STUFF. there is SO much yugioh (and other anime) merch being sold on jpn shopping sites for like. $4-$10. it is ridiculous. and then when proxy sites have discount deals you can get stuff for even CHEAPER sometimes. (theres also, of course, expensive merch lots too, just like with anything, theres just. also listings for stuff sold for less than a fancy dinner for two yknow HHDFGS)
it basically opens a whole new avenue of sites to find goodies on... I like using proxy buyers especially for listings on more general ebay-type sites like JPN Mercari (there is so much good and sometimes really rare stuff on there) and Surugaya (lots of doujins on there if that's your thing,) but also for buying from the main sites New ygo merch drops happen on (Cospa, eeo store, and the official KaibaCorp store in particular are some of the best.)
Ok, so, ya got your proxy service of choice. How do you find the goodies you're looking for?
Tumblr media
TIP THREE: GOTTA KNOW THE BEST KEYWORDS!!!
this isnt really a rocket science tip, but, still: search for stuff not just in japanese but use the kanji!! Sometimes i'll just c/p the base characters of a yugioh guy's japanese name off their yugipedia page and then pop that into the mercari search just to see what sorta treats are floating around with them on it. But if going and constantly copy/pasting kanji into the proxy service search is a pain in the neck a lot 'em will auto translate your English searches too! again, theyre all really user friendly, which is great
(the one thing i will say you SHOULD search in english, though, is spinoff names, actually--you pop GX, ZEXAL, ARC-V, etc. into the proxy search and youll get all sorts of stuff for whatever series it is)
OK ONE MORE TIP FOR YA. TIP FOUR: DO WHAT YOU CAN TO GET THE MOST OF SHIPPING COSTS
Tumblr media
ok so that is. the one pain, with merch hunting on proxy buying sites: shipping will probably be Expensive. (unless you go for the cheapest seamail options and then get your box maybe 4-6 months from now 🥴 but hey, it's an option! it's there!) I usually end up paying around $30-$50 for my boxes from Neokyo.
BUT you can at least make that shipping cost feel more reasonable if youre shipping A BUNCH OF STUFF. Shipping one (1) little $4 GX character can badge for $30 REALLY sucks, avoid this if you can--with proxies holding your stuff in their warehouse, you can get a bunch of little cheap goodies and just hold 'em until youre ready to get 'em packed and shipped. Then, whenever youre ready/have the money for the shipping cost, get all the stuff youve bought packed into one box, pay for the shipping, and (usually within two weeks--the one tradeoff of the high shipping price is you get that shit FAST) then get your stuff! It's like FUCKIN CHRISTMAS getting a box of proxy-obtained stuff including things from like two months ago i totally forgot i bought. Makes the $40 shipping sting a little less--like, hey, at least i got like 12 damn things in here and i didnt pay $125 for any of them!!!!
ok i think that's all i got. hopefully this is somewhat useful!! folks are always welcome to ask me stuff about merch hunting, like i said i really like helping people get a hold of stuff :3 it's really a lot easier than it seems at first!

Milton Orr looked across the rolling hills in northeast Tennessee. “I remember when we had over 1,000 dairy farms in this county. Now we have less than 40,” Orr, an agriculture adviser for Greene County, Tennessee, told me with a tinge of sadness.
That was six years ago. Today, only 14 dairy farms remain in Greene County, and there are only 125 dairy farms in all of Tennessee. Across the country, the dairy industry is seeing the same trend: In 1970, more than 648,000 US dairy farms milked cattle. By 2022, only 24,470 dairy farms were in operation.
While the number of dairy farms has fallen, the average herd size—the number of cows per farm—has been rising. Today, more than 60 percent of all milk production occurs on farms with more than 2,500 cows.
Tumblr media
This massive consolidation in dairy farming has an impact on rural communities. It also makes it more difficult for consumers to know where their food comes from and how it’s produced.
As a dairy specialist at the University of Tennessee, I’m constantly asked: Why are dairies going out of business? Well, like our friends’ Facebook relationship status, it’s complicated.
The Problem with Pricing
The biggest complication is how dairy farmers are paid for the products they produce.
In 1937, the Federal Milk Marketing Orders, or FMMO, were established under the Agricultural Marketing Agreement Act. The purpose of these orders was to set a monthly, uniform minimum price for milk based on its end use and to ensure that farmers were paid accurately and in a timely manner.
Farmers were paid based on how the milk they harvested was used, and that’s still how it works today.
Does it become bottled milk? That’s Class 1 price. Yogurt? Class 2 price. Cheddar cheese? Class 3 price. Butter or powdered dry milk? Class 4. Traditionally, Class 1 receives the highest price.
There are 11 FMMOs that divide up the country. The Florida, Southeast, and Appalachian FMMOs focus heavily on Class 1, or bottled, milk. The other FMMOs, such as Upper Midwest and Pacific Northwest, have more manufactured products such as cheese and butter.
For the past several decades, farmers have generally received the minimum price. Improvements in milk quality, milk production, transportation, refrigeration, and processing all led to greater quantities of milk, greater shelf life, and greater access to products across the US. Growing supply reduced competition among processing plants and reduced overall prices.
Along with these improvements in production came increased costs of production, such as cattle feed, farm labor, veterinary care, fuel, and equipment costs.
Tumblr media
Researchers at the University of Tennessee in 2022 compared the price received for milk across regions against the primary costs of production: feed and labor. The results show why farms are struggling.
From 2005 to 2020, milk sales income per 100 pounds of milk produced ranged from $11.54 to $29.80, with an average price of $18.57. For that same period, the total costs to produce 100 pounds of milk ranged from $11.27 to $43.88, with an average cost of $25.80.
On average, that meant a single cow that produced 24,000 pounds of milk brought in about $4,457. Yet, it cost $6,192 to produce that milk, meaning a loss for the dairy farmer.
More efficient farms are able to reduce their costs of production by improving cow health, reproductive performance, and feed-to-milk conversion ratios. Larger farms or groups of farmers—cooperatives such as Dairy Farmers of America—may also be able to take advantage of forward contracting on grain and future milk prices. Investments in precision technologies such as robotic milking systems, rotary parlors, and wearable health and reproductive technologies can help reduce labor costs across farms.
Tumblr media
Regardless of size, surviving in the dairy industry takes passion, dedication, and careful business management.
Some regions have had greater losses than others, which largely ties back to how farmers are paid, meaning the classes of milk, and the rising costs of production in their area. There are some insurance and hedging programs that can help farmers offset high costs of production or unexpected drops in price. If farmers take advantage of them, data shows they can functions as a safety net, but they don’t fix the underlying problem of costs exceeding income.
Passing the Torch to Future Farmers
Why do some dairy farmers still persist, despite low milk prices and high costs of production?
For many farmers, the answer is because it is a family business and a part of their heritage. Ninety-seven percent of US dairy farms are family owned and operated.
Some have grown large to survive. For many others, transitioning to the next generation is a major hurdle.
The average age of all farmers in the 2022 Census of Agriculture was 58.1. Only 9 percent were considered “young farmers,” age 34 or younger. These trends are also reflected in the dairy world. Yet, only 53 percent of all producers said they were actively engaged in estate or succession planning, meaning they had at least identified a successor.
How to Help Family Dairy Farms Thrive
In theory, buying more dairy would drive up the market value of those products and influence the price producers receive for their milk. Society has actually done that. Dairy consumption has never been higher. But the way people consume dairy has changed.
Americans eat a lot, and I mean a lot, of cheese. We also consume a good amount of ice cream, yogurt, and butter, but not as much milk as we used to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Does this mean the US should change the way milk is priced? Maybe.
The FMMO is currently undergoing reform, which may help stem the tide of dairy farmers exiting. The reform focuses on being more reflective of modern cows’ ability to produce greater fat and protein amounts; updating the cost support processors receive for cheese, butter, nonfat dry milk, and dried whey; and updating the way Class 1 is valued, among other changes. In theory, these changes would put milk pricing in line with the cost of production across the country.
The US Department of Agriculture is also providing support for four Dairy Business Innovation Initiatives to help dairy farmers find ways to keep their operations going for future generations through grants, research support, and technical assistance.
Another way to boost local dairies is to buy directly from a farmer. Value-added or farmstead dairy operations that make and sell milk and products such as cheese straight to customers have been growing. These operations come with financial risks for the farmer, however. Being responsible for milking, processing, and marketing your milk takes the already big job of milk production and adds two more jobs on top of it. And customers have to be financially able to pay a higher price for the product and be willing to travel to get it.

Genuine question; how is it self publishing with Lulu and are there any copyright issues? Thinking about taking some of my older world building and turning it into a Actual Novel.
I hope it's okay if I answer this publicly, I've had a few questions about it recently!
I've been doing it long enough that my frame of reference for difficulty may be a little skewed, but it's relatively straightforward -- Lulu has a publishing wizard that walks you through selecting options, uploading a document, adding a cover, and such. There is still a lot you have to do yourself that they don't really tell you how to, but it's not hard to google for some and they do have forums that cover other bits.
There are generally speaking no copyright issues with going through a self-publisher, but it depends on the services you obtain from them. With Lulu -- as with, I think, most Print-On-Demand printers -- there's an array of routes to go from unpublished document to published book.
So you can do it all yourself -- you can edit, proof, typeset, design the cover, purchase an ISBN, and do all the marketing. Or, at any step in the process, you can purchase services from Lulu that will do that for you. I can't recommend purchasing their proofing/design/marketing stuff; on the one hand it's where they make their money, but because of that they're not providing super great value for what you pay. And as a self-publisher, unless you have a massive platform or great marketing and hustle, you probably won't recoup in sales what you paid for.
Whether or not you buy other services, Lulu charges a per-book print fee, but you set your own prices, so like the book might cost $5 to print, but if you set the price at $10 you're making a pretty sweet profit per book. Some other POD publishers also charge a "setup" fee, but I'm not familiar with what that entails.
In any case, there's only one point at which copyright becomes an issue, which is the ISBN -- the serial number and barcode that identifies your book so that (for example) bookstores can sell it and libraries can stock it. You don't HAVE to have an ISBN, but it makes it much harder to get it distributed if you don't.
You can obtain an ISBN on your own -- cost varies by country, many make them available for free but in the US a single ISBN is $125 or you can buy like 100 for $500. If you want to have one but don't want to buy one, Lulu will give you one, but they then become the publisher of record. I don't really know how that works in terms of copyright, but it does impact some rights to the book, so if you use a Lulu-issued ISBN that would be something to research. If you're just publishing a book through them without using their ISBN, they're basically a printer -- they have no right to your book as an item of intellectual property.
Now, outside of copyright considerations, it is certainly more work to self-pub. If you want it to look professional you have to have access to a good program for typesetting, you have to know how to set margins and gutters, title/author headers and page number footers, and if you want to do an epub that's a whole other ball of wax.
I don't get super fancy. I typeset in Word, because Libre Office and Open Office (at least last I checked) didn't have a few of the features Word has, but any other program has a much higher learning barrier to entry. You also have to upload the document as a PDF, so you have to be able to save/print it as a PDF.
Lulu does have a cover-design app you can use to make a cover, but it's extremely basic, so if you don't want your cover to look like it was designed in Canva, you'll need access to a design program like Photoshop or Glimpse, or to commission a cover from someone who does. Once you've uploaded your document, Lulu will give you a template that tells you exactly what size your cover should be, where the bleed margins are, and etc.
And then we get into the nitty-gritty stuff like how only certain fonts can be used for the document (there are twelve fonts that Lulu allows, it's listed on their site somewhere, I just use Garamond) and you need to make sure any art that goes on the cover is either free for use or Creative Commons or similar (or you buy the art for use). Google does have a handy Creative Commons filter on their imagesearch function, which has been useful for me in the past, but on the copyright pages of many of my books you'll see credit given for images used.
So to do your first book there is a bit of a steep learning curve, but once you're past the curve, you'll have some pretty good skills for future publishing. I did a book a year for several years, in my twenties, and then didn't publish at all for several years, and had to relearn a lot when I started publishing again, but it came back pretty quickly. And depending on how fancy or professional you want your book to look, you don't necessarily have to put in a TON of work. Like, I try to make mine look as much like pro-published books as possible, but some authors on Lulu just shove a formatted word document into a PDF and call it a day, they don't bother with headers/footers and fancy formatting and such.
In any case, while I think going the professional route of querying publishers and agents is laudable and certainly I wouldn't advise anyone to go to selfpub first thing, selfpub can be awfully satisfying, and it starts to feel kind of like a fun hobby after a while.

A general shop idea I'm happy if you institute as well
One of the things I have been tinkering with, and I'm finally settling on, is a monthly zine that pulls the essays and comics and photos etc. I take in a month.
It will essentially be a monthly compilation of the original content I make for social media.
Zines will go out the first week of the month, capturing all the stuff from the previous month, so there isn't a pressure to make stuff specifically for this zine.
Tumblr media
"Why not create new stuff?"
Because resources (time/energy/etc.) will be to create new stuff at large -- products, comics, etc.
This is specifically designed to repurpose existing stuff.
The specific point is to connect without adding more work that would derail the creation of stuff.
It's a catch-up. An archive.
An "I get too many emails, not enough physical mail, I want weird ghost mail"
Tumblr media
"...so... why would I subscribe to this..."
I, myself, regularly say "Hey I like this comic or thing. Here is a few coins."
It's a take on the $1-3 tip jars, pledges, patreon levels, etc. that are extremely popular to offer, and extremely popular to support.
It's there if you wish to support the content.
It's also there as a way to bypass the multitude of social media platform decays, frustrations, lockouts, etc.
As a person who Makes Things Online and has for 20+ years, I am extremely worried about what the space will look like going forward in the next 20+ years.
Hence! This!!
Hey remember when RSS was far more accessible? Those were fun times.
Hey remember when Reddit wasn't on the verge of...
Hey remember when Twitter wasn't...
(sotto voce) Do you see where I'm going with this?
Tumblr media
"How much is it going to cost?"
About 125% the cost of production, so probably $2-3/month. This is not a profit-making vehicle, the extra grease on the wheel is to cover production issues, lost in the mail, etc.
When I have a sale or launching a new thing, a note will be included. "Hey! For the coming month, use code XYZ! We're launching New Thing on This Date too!"
"Couldn't I just follow you on social media and/or subscribe to email and see it for free?"
Yes.
I'm not trying to shift your behavior from one to another.
I want to create a thing should you say "I like you but I'm tired of XYZ social network and/or I get too many emails."
I want to create a thing should you say "I'd rather read about calling myself an Addams cousin while drinking coffee in the park."
This is not anti-social media.
This is not "people are on their phones too much."
This is not anti- anything, really.
I want to create something should you say "I want more mail. I want more physical mail and I want it to come in a bright envelope decorated weirdly."
Tumblr media
It is my professional estimation that online communities are going to continue to fracture. The following is my personal rambling opinion:
It is going to get harder, and harder, and harder, as a person, to keep track of the artists and makers that you are interested in.
It's going to get even harder, and harder, and harder, as a maker, to connect to people who are interested in the stuff you make.
Before social media, you had "marketing," and for awhile, we've had "social media marketing," which is similar but about 100,000 times cheaper.
We are rapidly reaching a point where the majority, possibly the vast majority, of content you see on socials fall into one of two categories:
Created by a large business
Created by a large business but funneled through a special division they created specifically to quietly hide the scale of their operation
This happens right now more often than is comfortable!
And I think it's going to continue to shift that way!
"I'm on board, where do I sign up?"
Until the shop launches, I'm sending out a monthly newsletter. Signup is at netherworldpost.com. This will be among the first projects I launch.
Once said shop launches, I'll continue with the online newsletter, but this will also be available.
I will have an open, public, forever free, never paywalled guide on "This is how I run this with the tiny print shop we built. Here are some ideas if you do not have a tiny print shop."
Thanks!
And feel free to take this idea and make it your own for your whatever sized shop on whatever platform you make things on now and/or the future!

Use reputable anti-virus and anti-malware software on your computer and mobile devices.
Creating a binance account is a simple, yet necessary process for anyone interested in trading cryptocurrencies. By following these guidelines, you can set up your account with ease and ensure that it is secure.
How To Verify Your Binance Account
The Importance Of Verifying Your Binance Account
Verifying your binance account is crucial for a variety of reasons, including:
Ensuring the security of your account against potential hacking and fraudulent activities.
Avoiding any service disruptions or deposit/withdrawal interruptions.
Gaining higher withdrawal limits for increased flexibility in trading cryptocurrencies.
Step-By-Step Guide On Verifying Your Binance Account
Follow these easy steps to verify your binance account:
Log in to your binance account and click on the “account” tab.
Click on the “verify” button and select your country of residence.
Choose the type of identification document you possess and input the required information.
Upload a clear and legible photo of your identification document, along with a selfie of yourself holding the same document.
Wait for the verification process to complete (usually within 15 minutes).
Additional Verification Requirements For Higher Withdrawal Limits
If you want to have access to higher withdrawal limits, you will need to complete additional verification requirements. These include:
Providing proof of residential address (i.e. Utility bill, bank statement, etc. Dated within the last three months).
Submitting a video verification (in some countries).
Once you complete these steps, you will be able to enjoy higher withdrawal limits. It is important to monitor your account and continue to comply with all regulations to ensure continued access to binance’s services.
The Pitfalls Of Buying An Unverified Binance Account
Buying verified binance account may seem like an attractive proposition. It can save you time and get you access to trading cryptocurrencies without waiting for a lengthy verification process. However, the risks of purchasing an unverified account far outweigh any potential benefits.
Here are some pitfalls to avoid:
Risks Of Buying An Unverified Binance Account
To better understand what you are getting into, let’s take a closer look at the major risks involved:
Unauthorized access: If you buy an unverified binance account, the initial owner can still have access to it. The owner can use your account for illegal activities or access your sensitive information, causing you both legal and financial problems.
Monetary loss: Because there is no assurance that your unverified account has not been hacked, your funds are not secured. You will run the risk of losing all of your hard-earned crypto money, which can be devastating.
Fraudulent activities: Unverified accounts are not monitored by binance authorities so who knows if your seller has used or continues to use it for fraudulent activities such as money laundering. If this happens, you may get implicated and face legal action.
Avoiding Scam Websites
It’s understandable to feel anxious when it comes to trusting someone else, especially when it comes to trading cryptos. To ensure that you are not being scammed by purchasing an unverified binance account, follow these steps:
Verify the seller’s identity by checking their online reputation and conducting due diligence on their past transactions.
Use only a reputable intermediary or escrow service to complete your transaction.
Ensure that the seller uses a verified binance account, which is safeguarded and validated by the platform.
Keep your purchase as a private affair, and never reveal your account details to anyone else.
Remember, the verification process of opening and using a binance account is in place to protect both the platform and the users. When you sidestep this process, you put yourself at risk. Always exercise caution and purchase a verified binance account.
The Benefits Of Buying A Verified Binance Account
If you’re looking to engage in cryptocurrency trading, you cannot ignore the importance of having a binance account. Binance is one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, catering to millions of customers globally. While opening a binance account is a straightforward process, the issue of verification can cause unnecessary headaches.
This is when buying a verified binance account can save you time and effort.
The Advantages Of Buying A Verified Binance Account From A Reputable Seller
Buying a verified binance account from a reputable seller can offer you numerous benefits, such as:
Immediate access to the platform: A verified binance account allows you to sign in and start trading immediately. You don’t have to wait for the verification process to complete, which can take several days.
A higher deposit and withdrawal limit: A verified account comes with a higher deposit and withdrawal limit that enables you to carry out more significant trades.
No limit on cryptocurrency withdrawals: Non-verified accounts have restrictions on cryptocurrency withdrawals. A verified account, on the other hand, comes with no such restrictions.
Enhanced account security: By buying a verified account, you can rest assured that the account is secure, backed by superior security features and software updates.
24/7 account support: Reputable sellers offering verified binance accounts provide round-the-clock account support to cater to your needs at any time of the day.
When buying a verified binance account, it is imperative to analyze and choose the right seller carefully. You should ensure that the seller you choose eliminates the risk of scams and frauds by providing clear verification policies.
The advantages of buying a verified binance account from a reputable seller are plenty. Not only does it offer you immediate access to the platform, but it also provides an enhanced security feature, higher withdrawal and deposit limits, and 24/7 account support.
With the right seller, it’s a decision that can streamline your cryptocurrency trading process.

Goooood morning Survivors -- back at it with my favourite procrastination strategy: making e-books instead of shooting for OF! Love that for me.
Anyhow,
Tier systems and exclusivity marketing have always been at the forefront of my personal approach to my business. My two overarching goals with online SW are to make a lot of money (duh) while also keeping myself and my subscribers happy. For the camgirl migrators who used to live stream and then worked our way over to content creation platforms - I feel like some of our foundational knowledge has been forgotten, and I’m here to remind everyone that the way we used to do things is still a really good approach even on OF.
On M/FC, we focused our energy on premium members, and always offered more attention to tippers than to basics or non-tippers. This helped us focus on where the money was actually coming from, and rewarding tippers with more attention/special treatment plus access to things that others didn’t receive (videos, VIP status, club memberships etc) made tipping look more attractive to non-tippers.
Somehow on OF, practices have shifted - and I argue they’ve shifted in ways that really don’t benefit all of us very well, or very often. I’ve paid for “shout outs” from top creators twice now, and both times it’s involved giving out a number of free trials to my page. Both times I’ve paid over $200 and received a grand total of zero fucking dollars in the end - the free trials were used over 50 times, and NONE of those new “subscribers” paid me a damn dime. The only people benefiting were the seller, who pocketed my $200, and the seller’s subscribers who got free access to my page for a month (and then proceeded to spend absolutely nothing). Maybe this works for others, maybe there are criteria that I need to follow more carefully, bla bla bla - the bottom line is I think this practice mainly circles around from top creator to top creator while providing the buyer themselves - aka me, in this situation - with next to nothing. Now if I sold a “shout out” with a free trial link to someone else and then gave all my subscribers a month of free access to a different creators page, sure, some of them may click it - but they’re also more likely to stick with me for the chance to get free subs elsewhere.
Make sense? Because when it makes sense, it just kind of sucks. For me, I mean. For the other two parties it’s great - but I’m out here trying to make me money first and foremost. The second piece, as per old M/FC knowledge, is I’m trying to make the people who actually support me happy so they continue to do so.
This is where my e-book comes in. I’ve had more than half of my current subscribers for more than a year, with probably a third of that half having been subscribed for two or more years. At current, 125 active subs have spent $1000 or more on my page - and that’s out of just 275 total subscribers at the moment (it’s low bc I broke my fucking wrist and can barely lift a spoon to my mouth without dropping food, let alone shoot sexy content lol).
What I’m getting at here is that I’ve learned how to make people happy enough to stay long term and spend a lot. I do this using exclusivity marketing, which helps me maintain my own boundaries (I only really want a small group of top tier supporters seeing my most explicit content, which helps me keep leaks lower and makes me feel better about what I release) and allows me to charge $100 plus for a single video, because I know the individuals I’m sharing it with are way more likely to purchase expensive stuff. This is personal experience that I feel strongly enough about to sell to you as a tutorial book. As always, I’m never going to offer something for sale that I haven’t personally utilized with strong reward, so the book is a massive source of information not just for newbies but especially for long term creators.
At this point, because of how I’ve set myself up, even if I lost access to every single social media account I own, I know I’d still be able to make a handsome income because I don’t rely on advertising or a constant influx of new subscribers for the bulk of my income. Advertising is always necessary, but if you set yourself up right, it’s not 100% crucial to be doing every single day. As always, I’m sleepy and I have a huge brain so I prefer to work smart, not hard.
Anyhow, thanks for listening to me rant. I really hope the book benefits some of y’all because I think we could all use a bit more of this strategy and a bit less mad scrambling to secure new subs every day. Are you tired? I’m fucking tired. Doing things this way is a little less tiring.

Indie RPG Link Roundup - 05/02/2023
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s the beginning of Zine Month (and Zine Quest) and there are hundreds of zine projects that are going to launch across February. If you feel like browsing, check out the Zine Month site. I’ll shout out two projects being run by folks from the Global South.
Argentinian designer, Armanda Haller’s Grandmothership, which mashes together Honey Heist, Brindlewood Bay, and Mothership to make a game about grannies in space. It’s on Crowdfundr, a new platform that’s accessible in countries that are blocked by Kickstarter.
There’s also Hit the Road, Jack by Filipino designer Kyle Tam which is a one or two person game about a thrilling chase between a vengeful lawman and a criminal trying to escape their sins. There’s a great actual play on Party of One if you want to check it out. It’s itchfunding so the number of sales decide the amount of additional content and design in the game.
Now Links of the Week
RPG Theory
Really interesting! An excerpt from Paul Czege’s new zine The Ink That Bleeds, about how to play immersive journalling games: “I think of this process as “write to find out,” and I think it’s necessary to a journaling game for it to be immersive.”
An article after my own heart. Videogame designer Tanya X Short (Boyfriend Dungeon, among others) writes in praise of messiness: “When I meet with other experienced game designers, we find ourselves admitting to fascination with decidedly inelegant game designs, and envious of those designers that permit themselves this kind of latitude.”
An interesting read about using Netrunner cards like a tarot deck and telling a story with them. It feels a bit like what I thought CCGs were as a kid before I actually knew anything about them.
Misc
On Polygon, Gamefound discusses their progress as a crowdfunding platform and their goal of eating into Kickstarter’s stranglehold.
Matthew Gravelyn collected data from 125 game designers/publishers on itch and published a report with some data visualizations to show the results. Interesting results, useful for any solo designer who publishes games.
Black Armada Games talks about almost getting scammed by someone pretending to be an artist by using other people’s art.

If you don’t subscribe to the Indie Press Revolution newsletter, it’s another good way to keep up with the indie games.

Which Affiliate Programs Are the Best For Beginners?
Web hosting is one of the world’s most popular affiliate marketing categories. Whether starting an online business or blogging, hosting is required for every new website.
The key to properly suggesting a web hosting platform is a familiarity with the technology. Don’t pick a program only based on its payments. The platform should be simple, full of features, and the most excellent suggestion for your target audience.
Conclusion
When choosing an affiliate program, check commissions, average order values (AOV), average revenue per click (EPC), and cookie duration. See if there is a recurring payment or just a one-time payment. Finally, choose a niche that matches your interests. The affiliate market is growing fast, and the opportunities are enormous. Remember that the first step in this area is to create your WordPress affiliate site or blog.
