how i got was introduced to f1 -> my bf and i were bored on netflix one day and he said, "we should watch this show" (in reference to drive to survive) i said "sure!" and then we started watching s1 of drive to survive. i fell in love with danny ric first, but i ended up just immersing myself in the world of formula 1

favorite drivers -> danny ricciardo, fernando alonso, pierre gasly, lance stroll (overhated imo), sebastian vettel, lewis hamilton, george russell, max verstappen, sergio pérez & kimi räikkönen

favorite teams -> mercedes (if that wasn't obv enough), aston martin, red bull, & ferrari

do you work? yes! i’m a social worker for behavioral health. i work full-time monday through friday.

any pets? yes, i own two cats. a chunky orange & white tabby named ambrose. he's five, a taurus, and the cuddliest guy. i also have a lankier gal who has black fur with a few white patches (on her chest and tummy hehe) named maki. she just turned two in june! (my little gemini bby<3)

anything else? i looooveeee music and how it’s incorporated into writing! please never hesitate to share any songs you may feel fit with what i write. i eat that shit up!

if i was not in the field of public health, i would be interested in pursuing a career related to writing, journalism, or editing! i love interpretation of media and could ramble about symbolism, figurative language, etc., for hours!

HELLO welcome to the Babbit's Blog masterpost!!! On this post you'll find some fun facts about yours allegedly (me <33), some ref's for my different 'sona's, and a couple links to my fics and whatnot! Are you ready? No?? Excellent neither am i let's do this

Meet the Babbits!: the self-inserts/personas

the first ref is for my general/most commonly used persona, Babbit! They aren't really an anthro/furry as much as they are a humanoid with the head of a rabbit. I like to think of this one as the 'me' that's in my head- the purest form of my thoughts and feelings, but not the solid real-life me. The second ref is my self-insert persona, Rabbit, the one i picture using most often when i'm reading a fic or imagining a self-insert scenario lol. This one is like the me that people see and meet and speak to in real actual life, if that makes sense. It's the way I come across to people and all of the things I wish I could iron out of my crumpled up real-self <3 The third is a much more specific 'sona, Hazel, who started off as a FNaF:SB animatronic self-insert. She does have a backstory and lore now, which i think makes her more of an OC than a self-insert, but a lot of her is still me and a lot of what she experiences in her backstory is from my life/instills the same feelings that were taken away from things that happened to me, so I think she kinda counts enough to put a ref for her here sdkjfsdhfj (Why the different names?: makes things a little easier, and they hold meaning to me symbolically, I guess!)

Content!: Here's a short list of my various fics that will get updated as I create more! (it was, in reality, not fine.): FNaF Sun/Moon x Reader fanfic, gender neutral, for general audiences, fluff-fest, idiots to lovers "You're the new tech/repairman at the Fazbear Mega Pizzaplex, unfortunately. Your first task? To make the Daycare Attendant into two separate animatronics. It's an amazing opportunity, really, and there is nothing you love more than getting a chance to really work with such tech! The only bad part is that you don't know how to tell anyone that you just might be in over your head. (You are extremely in over your head.)" After Everything Was Fixed (but you were still broken): AU FNaF Sun/Moon x (Animatronic) Reader, gender neutral, read with caution, angst, harm to sentient robots, traumatized main character, hurt/comfort slow burn, romance slow burn "The virus was gone. Everyone was fixed. You had been put back together. It's a time for a new beginning, to do things right this time, to wash away the past and paint a better future. Their memories of the infection had- mercifully- been taken away from them. Yours had not. He doesn't understand why you try to avoid him. Even if you could tell him, you're not sure you would. You want to be his friend, but it's difficult; every time you see him, you remember the hundreds of times he killed you." A fic where you are a repairman-themed STAFFbot, taking place post-virus. In the past, Moon, infected by the virus, took delight in attacking and dismantling the reader during the night. Now, in the present, you find yourself burdened by the memories of the past while everyone around you has no recollection of the events. It gets more complicated as Sun and Moon, both now cleared of the virus, grow curious of you. This fic will follow a series of arcs, presently on arc one. Whomst the hell?: HI I'm Rabbit! Or Bones! Or Babbit! Or Avarice/Ava, if you want to go for a more legitimate-sounding name. I'm 24 years old, prefer to use they/them pronouns, and so, so incredibly ace. I've been drawing as long as I've had the ability to hold a pen, writing since I was in grade school, and being a plague to the ones around me since the beginning of time! If you've seen my art, its probably from the absolute mountain of fluffy-wuffy love-dovey (y/n) x Sundrop/Moondrop/Eclipse doodles I've been sharing for several years now sdfjhsdj. State of the Codex March 2024

It is not a secret that I have had a bad year.

I am a school teacher. And a trans woman. This is my first year using she/her pronouns full time in the classroom, after a multi-year period of social transitioning. It has put a target on my back.

Over the course of this year, one period in particular has been a wellspring of hate. Homophobia, transphobia, racism and sexism. Not all of it directed at me personally, but a barrage of students showing over and over again that they are hateful and that they want me to know it.

Administration has gotten involved. Multiple students have been transferred out, but it feels like playing Bigot Whack-a-Mole. And now that the students know that they're under scrutiny, they've gotten subtler. Today someone left me a message. Subtle enough that it has plausible deniability, targeted enough that I know that someone intended for me to find it, and to know that they think of me as a man. I have my suspicions, but I don't know who did it. I feel gaslit, emotionally abused. I don't feel safe.

Someone else is going to be teaching that period for the rest of the year. They succeeded in chasing me out. I am exhausted and relieved.

And would like to know that I am loved.

Hello my darlings,

Ok so, workday and all this isn’t going to be as well thought out as I would like it to be. Go ahead and come for my phasing if need be but just try to read me as you always do, with the kindest intent.🥰

As creator of the content on this blog, the intellectual owner of all stories and characters therein 🤓 I have both the right and responsibility to moderate this blog as well. For that reason I’m making this post instead of answering every ask currently in my inbox. It’s not meant as a slight to your personal message and opinion if it goes unanswered, rather a way of being able to give all such a more heartfelt response.

Right here and now.

That ask…understandably raised a load of concern, caused bafflement and even, I surmise, hurt. When reading it I personally was more than a little unsure about reposting it at all due to some of it that was just plain…alarming? But I chose to. And I appreciate that all of yall have been kind enough to give me the benefit of the doubt for doing so…I did post it in hopes that I could shift this incessant comparison over and out for good. For some of the newcomers, perhaps this is a new phenomenon. But back in spring it was almost constant and it’s the opposite of what I’d like in regard to my OC’s. I had hopes it was done for. So I replied to this one, which was a bit of a throwback in general. I didn’t agree, but I replied in hopes of trying to refocus this whole viewpoint on the girls.

Didn’t really achieve that, tho. Or if I did, it certainly had the cost of making this space more than a little upset- understandably so. Which, while I love my OC’s- I love their readers even more, so I want to be loving and as good a guardian of this space’s wellbeing as I can.

And so, as moderator, I’m gonna go ahead and take that one down, it’s not adding much and it’s in fact hurting a good bit and maybe doing so will prevent others from feeling the same. Because, of course, I would never want to spread hurt, ever. I obviously, previously and repeatedly have disagreed with the sentiments expressed in that ask so in respect of how many indigenous fans my girl Lu has, we’re gonna exercise our moderating powers and take that one down.

Now, I know that doesn’t mean the discussion or sentiment is gone- just poof, all fixed! however, it’s the best I can do since I trust and hope that yall do understand my own position on this and that in reposting any ask I am by that action inherently publishing other’s opinions not necessarily reflective of my own.

Just wishing to steer all these discussions into kinder but also wise and aware channels.

early voting

My sister lives in a town that hosts one of only a few early voting sites in her county, and said that yesterday midday when she drove past it the line was at least 100m long.

(No, I don't know how she measured this or why she did it in metric, and how she could see the whole thing from the street-- idk. to be fair to confused Europeans, the conversion between yards and meters is actually very easy (in fact they are functionally the same for the ranges people are normally estimating) so if there's one measurement Americans might default to using without thinking it's meters. and my sister does have a bachelor's in science so has more than average familiarity with metric.)

Anyway. I'm told early voting sites in my county were also crowded today. but I have a secret plan:

the Bills are playing this afternoon, so even dedicated democracy-upholders will be retiring to sit in front of their TVs in the mid-afternoon. I will go place my early vote once the football has enticed my neighbors indoors.

(This is also when we do our grocery shopping: we find out when the game is, and go just before kickoff. These concussion-enjoyers are so obliging with their schedules...)

1. What is the main lesson of your story? Why did you choose it? 

Don’t be an idiot and actually communicate with those you love, lol. In all seriousness, I don’t know if my story has a main theme, but there are several themes for sure. The importance of having family that loves and supports you (whether found or biological), taking back autonomy of oneself, and the importance of community.

2. What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding? 

Other BBU/pet whump authors! If you have written for the BBU, trust me, I have used some idea of yours as inspiration somewhere. I also use middle school me’s obsession with dystopian novels as inspiration as well.

3. What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness or help the reader grow as a person? 

All my MCs are trying to heal, in one way or another and I want my readers to connect with my characters in some way. Not really teaching a lesson or having some big, major theme, but I want my characters to feel real and connect with the readers (yes, even if you want to kill them you cannot touch Star, he is immune from death)

4. How many chapters is your story going to have? 

Hahahaha ha ha ha. . . yeah, no clue

5. Is it fan fiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it?

6. When did you start writing? 

The minute I learned what stories were. I think I wrote my first “story” (bible fanfiction. No I will not be taking questions about that) when I was about seven or so, then my first full fanfiction at nine and I have not stopped since. 

7. Do you have any words of encouragement for fellow writers of writeblr? What other writers do you follow?

Read! Seriously, I cannot stress this enough! Read! And not just to compare yourselves with other writers–please don’t do that at all–but read to see how others write emotion, descriptions, characters, plots! Take what you like and figure out why you don’t like other kinds of writing, then apply what you want to your own writing. Also, your writing voice will develop in time. Don’t worry about that.

A large chunk of people I follow are writers! Can’t list all of them here, but they know who they are and their writings have inspired and shaped both my style and my content. Ilyasm!

No, nobody brought it up afterwards. In fact, all the senior scholars were being incredibly nice about my paper, which suggests they read this in the most accurate way (completely sincerely and innocently).

This is probably for the best.

man interactive fiction authors get the most insane asks from anons what is it that has these freaks showing up to bother you all, just for putting out work for free??? 🙃

I'm gonna be honest, we're just way too accessible. Unfortunately for authors who are just starting out, there aren't that many ways to build up a readership outside of dropping regular updates.

Interacting regularly with your base of readers and giving them extra content through (anonymous) asks is one of those ways to cultivate an audience, and I feel gross just writing that because in an ideal world that shouldn't factor into it at all. But in the current online landscape, that's just become part of the culture surrounding it.

Especially since IF itself as a genre is very much online, there is this expectation that authors themselves should be familiar with the online landscape and be easily accessible as well. That accessibility comes with both pros and cons, and one of the major cons is that you get randoms in your inbox who decided to leave their manners at the door just because it's the internet and they're anonymous, so they think they can say and demand whatever they want from you without repercussions.

It's a decision that every IF author will have to make for themselves, in terms of how much they interact with their readers and how much access they allow.

While I do keep my anonymous asks on, I do that as someone who has thick skin and knows the risks of doing so. I'm also relatively active in my Discord server, but that's pretty much where the interaction with my readers ends. I'm otherwise a very private person, and this past year especially have taken added distance because I'm more comfortable that way.

But that's also a luxury I have because AToC is pretty well-established as an IF now, so I can afford to let the work speak for itself rather than twist myself up into a pretzel trying to garner more readers. I absolutely don't envy new IF writers, I can't imagine the struggle for them in this climate 🥲
