"Wicked is a timeless classic” - Wicked UK Tour Review:
At the Curran Theare - Chicago in June 2003 an actress covered in green bodypaint Defyied Gravity for the very first time. Nearly 15 years later Wicked has become one of the world’s most iconic and most loved musicals of all time. It may nearly be 15 years old, but Wicked is just as spellbinding as ever.
Most of us are familiar with the story of Dorothy and her friends on their journey to see the Wizard, but do you know how the story began? Our story begins long before Dorothy ever crash-landed in Oz.
“Wicked tells the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two young women who first meet as sorcery students at Shiz University: the blonde and very popular Glinda and a misunderstood green girl named Elphaba. Following an encounter with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, their friendship reaches a crossroads and their lives take very different paths. Glinda's unflinching desire for popularity sees her seduced by power while Elphaba's determination to remain true to herself, and to those around her, will have unexpected and shocking consequences for her future. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.”
Often when a big production heads out on tour it can lose some of its magnitude and perhaps some of its sparkle, however this is certainly not the case for the new touring production of Wicked. Everything about this production is bright, it’s bold and it’s just as beautiful as ever. From the stunning costumes to the fascinating sets, you honestly could not ask for more!
Audiences are treated to an incredible score of numbers (of course including everybody’s favourite, Defying Gravity) performed by an absolutely stellar cast lead by Amy Ross as Elphaba, Helen Woolf as Glinda and Aaron Sidwell as Fiyero. The performance in which I attended saw Charli Bapti take to the bubble and perform as Glinda, and sweet Oz can that girl sing! The whole cast were simply incredible, but for me Charli was really the star of the show. I am so grateful I got the chance to see her perform.
Yes Wicked is fabulous and fun, but it also raises some interesting questions and thoughts about society. The original novel from Gregory Maguire may have been released in 1995, but the themes and issues faced in his story such as prejudice, scapegoating and political corruption could not be more relevant in today. I think the world could, and should learn a lot from Elphaba’s story.
Wicked is a timeless classic which speaks to audiences from all generations. It’s a beautiful story of acceptance and friendship wrapped in the most fabulous packaging. If you missed Wicked the last time it was on tour, make sure you book tickets this time around! Wicked is running at the Bristol Hippodrome for the next 5 weeks. For more information or to book tickets head to the official Wicked website. Don’t miss your chance to see one of the world’s most Popular musicals.

I feel bad for Steven but in the long run I think it was for the best Lauren knows even if worst comes to worst he loses her. At least now he won't lose his family because of the fall out. If he is telling the truth.

I just read the spoilers for Steven and I was right, Jane makes a shocking discovery about Steven, and finds out
“that Steven is not the changed man he says he is. Just when things start to look great for Steven, she makes the discovery.”
and has it out with him in front of Ian and Lauren, right as things were going well for him with Ian, after a fruitful business idea.
God dammit Eastenders you couldn’t just give me one character redemption arc? You couldn’t bring Steven back without making him the bad guy. I’m hoping it’s not as bad as I’m thinking it is.

I'm really looking forward to Steven and Johnny (Stohnny?). Where does Aaron say something about a big mistake?
Me too Anon, me too. I can’t wait for it, hopefully they’ll build it up and it wont be an instant thing, I like a bit of slow burn personally. The Article was from back in June.
“I think he’s going to try and make things better but he is human so will make mistakes,” Sidwell said. “Being Steven he will probably make big mistakes.”
but you can find it here, Aaron gives us a bit of insight to the character, and why his returned. It’s worth a read.
Bring on Stohnny? Is that what we’re calling it? Jeven? Idk I’ll go with whatever everyone else is calling it! This is just the beginning dear anon!
