Hello! I'm Leo and I am returning to the writeblr community after a good long break. This specific tumblr is new, I figured I'd have a new start! My pronouns are she/her and I am currently 29 years old. I'm always down for chatting. I promise I don't bite.

Vladmire had founded Haven's Nook under the idea of creating a place for other Supernatural folks to build a community. A home of their own, even. It was a place to raise their own families without fear of being chased or lynched.
And, centuries later, that's exactly what it has become. Between the local werewolf pack and witch coven, there is no safer place for the supernatural. There was little capable of threatening their peace.
That is until Vlad's family finally finds him. His parents and siblings have decided to visit Haven's Nook. Their excuse? His long term lover, Aerin, has finally proposed.
Now Vlad must ensure his family does not destroy his home and life's work while planning his own nuptials.
Main Characters:
Vladmire Skoll (Vampire; Founder of Haven's Nook)

QUASAR #17, 58 DECEMBER 1990, MAY 1994 BY MARK GRUENWALD, PETER SANDERSON, MIKE MANLEY, JOHN HEEBINK, AARON MCCLELLAN AND PAUL BECTON
SYNOPSIS (FROM COMIC VINE)
On your marks, get set, GO! The Runner challenges all the speedsters of earth to race. Who will win? Who will lose? Will an unexpected victor take gold?
A race to the moon to see who is the fastest man alive!
After reaching the top speed among the Universe beings all, Makkari reaches the Runner to participate a Galactic Race for the most fast being in the universe.
Quasar, meanwhile, tries to reach his girlfriend Kayla Ballantine, trapped on the Earth from the New Universe, by trying to breach the force field that encloses the planet in quarantine, and talking to the Living Tribunal that has sealed such planet.
REVIEW
As far as Barry Allen homages that were out there in the nineties, this is perhaps one of the most respectful. “Buried Alien” shows up in the Marvel Universe just after dying in the DCU, with no memories of where he came from, but he knows he is the fastest man alive. And not only he is the fastest, in the second race (now as FastForward), he could have won, but decided to help Makkari not lose the race. So he is not only the fastest man alive, he is also a very good person.
The second story is a bit better because of the parallels between Makkari and Quasar, both giving up on their dreams in order to not “sell their souls” for quick fix.
Also “The runner” becoming “the runner-up” is genius.
I give these stories a score of 8

Writeblr Intro
Hello! I'm Leo! This is my re-introduction for this profile. I've returned to writeblr after a good long while and I have a long list of WIPs. All my WIPs are very old and currently undergoing a revamp so a lot of them no longer have much written for them unfortunately. Mostly because almost all of them were started over a decade ago and I'm no longer in my late teens/ early twenties anymore. I've changed and so my stories/ characters have changed. I'm always open to being asked anything or being tagged in anything. Sometimes I do take time to answer but I do always try to answer in some way.
My pronouns are she/her and I am currently 29 years old. I mostly write various forms of fantasy. But I also do scifi and won't turn my nose up at trying a bunch of others. I also draw or doodle when I feel like it.
Some of my current main WIPs:
Anomalous

Nov. 15, 2018 - EMMAUS
An homage to the first year editions of the B&S where they would print every first year’s name with some non sequitor descriptor, along with some mixed in observations.
HANNES KOGELNIK drops a quiet 33. Just hit 6 free throws in a row, no big thing
JACKSON BRESHEARS is still the most fun name to announce.
GRIFFIN BOEHM should be commemorated in frieze
VINNY CURTA is a child of the System
ZACHARY STICE just...iced it
ANT MOYNIHAN will ultimately discover the underlying structure of reality
JACOB LEDER is living the dream
KY-SEAN JOHNSON has more moves mid-jump then most of us on the ground
NOAH JACOBSON prefers cappuccinos to coffees but if there's a long line at the coffee shop he's polite and just orders black coffee
JACKSON QUALLEY is the proverbial “kids got talent, eh?”
TYLER GRUMHAUS makes the behind the back pass not flashy
WILL DUBOW once spent a summer living in a seal colony and is fluent in seal calls
ANTHONY GULVE is in an alt country band
WILL BEBEE is a small town hero
MORGAN WALSER doesn't need to impress anyone
PATRICK SIMMS makes a mean soufflé
CHRISTIAN BROOKENS enjoys watching running water and contemplating impermanence
BRAD GEIMAN doesn't have to jump very high to dunk but we are still impressed
JAKE CONRAN has fist bumped his way into our hearts
DAWSON KELLER has the face of an angel
TOMMY SMITH doesn’t go shopping on Black Friday
DEREK JONES knows he’s only supposed to wait 30 minutes after he eats before swimming but out of an abundance of caution he waits 2 hours
ALEX MICKUS designs hiking boots in his spare time
NICK CARTY knows the importance of wearing long underwear and good mittens in the winter
BROCK MORITZ is ambivalent about fedoras. Dad hats are better
ARGON STERN was accepted at Hogwarts but decided to play basketball at Grinnell instead
BRADY VEST is pretty good at the MarioKart koopa troopa beach level
DAVID ARSENEAULT JR. is considering the implications of winning vs. fun to watch
AARON LEVIN knows where to get the good local lettuce. Literally, lettuce.
SOPHIE BANEGAS can beat everyone at darts
CREEDE MCCLELLAN has exactly 7 pairs of shoes
DANIELLE OBERLANDER has won Oregon Trail more times than any current resident of Iowa

More about the Nazi stuff in Gainesville
Here’s some information on alternative events from the Alachua County Faith Leaders Alliance:
Alachua County Faith Leaders Alliance Statement on October 19 white nationalist rally
In light of recent public displays of hatred and violence, the distressing normalization of hateful and divisive ideologies, and the impending white nationalist event within our own community, we, the members of Alachua County Faith Leaders Alliance, offer these words of hope.
Gainesville is a city of many colors, beliefs, and ideologies. The diversity of humanity is what makes our city special. Gainesville is a city of hope; our residents and guests know that there is far more uniting us than could ever divide us. We are committed to the conviction that we are one human family. Therefore, we join together to reject beliefs that would tear our community apart.
As faith leaders we stand for love, knowing that each of us is created in the image of our Creator, and by our Creator we are called to care for one another as God cares for us.
Islam teaches us that God organized us into nations and tribes precisely to foster appreciation of the unity underlying our outward differences. The prophet Muhammad said, "All humankind is from Adam and Eve. A white person has no superiority over a black person, nor a black person over a white person except by piety and good action" (Last Sermon, Bukhari 1623,1626,6361).
Judaism teaches that one of God's core commandments is "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Leviticus 19:18).
Christianity teaches that the greatest commandment is to "Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, your mind, your soul and your strength; and love your neighbor as yourself" (Luke 10:27).
Buddhism teaches us that "Every human being has a basic nature of goodness, which is undiluted and unconfused. That goodness contains tremendous gentleness and appreciation. By serving this world, we can save it. But saving the world is not enough. We have to work to build an enlightened human society as well..." (Chogyam Trungpa, Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior).
We believe, along with Unitarian Universalist minister, Rev. Kendyl Gibbons, that: "Out of a community of diverse heritage and belief, we come together to share our hope, and to create good in the world. The teachers of all traditions and times have taught that we are called to mercy, generosity, and mutual care and that to be good is to serve. We know that there can be no enduring happiness for humanity so long as despair reigns and want goes unrelieved. Until all may be sheltered, none of us is truly at home. May the power of our various faiths sustain us in this calling, that we may be the hands of holy creativity and justice. Together may we build a better world."
Today we stand united in our diversity and stronger for it. Gainesville is a city of hope; a city of love; a city of peace. Hate and violence have no place here. We choose to be united in love.
