Short A x B fic, (inspired by @a-and-b-snz )

Introduction: B falls horribly ill and keep consistently saying it's just their allergies to A. Since A is caught up with work, they're a little agitated and snap at B. Later on, they regret it. ;)

"Shut the fuck up!" A scolded B once more. "This bullshit has been going on for 10 minutes."

A loud "snnnfk!" came from B.

"I'm sorry, A, I don't know what's wrong with me right now.." B concernedly replied, stuffing their face with a handful of tissues.

"I'm trying to work, and I need full silence in order to focus. So please get some allergy meds." A explained, turning their attention back to their computer.

"Okay, sorry.." B sighed, wondering if A still actually cared about him.

A couple hours pass

A cracked their knuckles and closes their computer. "Finally done." A sighed to themself, sitting up from their desk.

A walked toward their room to check up on B, since they had been so quiet.

A opened the door to find B, curled up in multiple blankets- surrounded by used tissues.

"Holy crap.." A said to themself, already getting a crease between their brows.

A walked over to B's side of the bed to find that they had cried themselves to sleep, their nose still draining consistently. B slowly fluttered their eyes open moments later..

"What happened?" A softly spoke, trying their best to stay calm.

B curled the blankets tigher on themselves. Just as they were about to speak, their breathing hitched softly, a few times until a-

"Hihh-KGtchuu!!"

-rough sounding sneeze flies out of them, muffled by their massive amount of fluffy blankets.

"Oh, bless you amor." A blessed, placing their palm on B's forehead.

"I'm sorry.." B murmured, muffled by their blankets.

"It's okay, sweetheart." A said climbing underneath the covers with them, wrapping their arms around B. "What was your temperature last?"

"101.."

"Awh, my poor sick baby." A cooed, planting a kiss on B's forehead once more.

B smiled, curling closer into A's arms.

The two laid there for a few moments until A heard the same soft hitching from before. "H-hhhiihh.." "Hhhhheh.." "haahh.." A's crease returned between their eyebrows. B's hitching continued until it was cut of by a fit of-

"Hhiih-KGtchuu!" "KGtchuu!" "tchu!" "G-tchu!!" "HEH-TCHU!!"

sneezes fly out of them. "I'm so sorry, A.." B apologized but was cut off. "I already told you it's fine." A replied, holding the tissue Infront of their face.

"C'mon, sneezy, blow."

"ughhhh..."

Sure! I wrote a fic with A in it once, so that'll kinda be my basis for this reply

1: sexuality headcanon: In my fic he was in a bit of a crushing on/fooling around together situation with B, but he was still young and innocent and also a lonely kid who was just barely starting to explore this side of himself. He was really stoked to finally have somebody around his age who really liked him and enjoyed his company, as he'd led a very isolated life for quite some time before that. And in my mind L was basically the only other person close to his age that he saw regularly before B arrived, and L was a bit of a snobby bully to him as well. So I wasn't really sure about A's sexuality yet, and I think he was a bit unsure about how to label his own orientation still as well. But I think he genuinely did like B

2: otp: AxB of course, hahaha it's an angsty pairing for the ages that basically writes itself

3: brotp: Would also like him with B as bros. But in my fic A really got along with Roger as well, and was a bit of a teacher's pet to him (he was a big-time people-pleaser, because that was kinda just how he had to behave to survive)

4: notp: Not really interested in shipping him with L, especially not in my own particular version of things

5: first headcanon that pops into my head: Religious inclinations, and if he'd been alive long enough to see the rise of Kira he might've thought he was divine and actually become a worshipper of him

6: favorite line from this character: haha, that one line in the novel that is all we have to go on about him

7: one way in which I relate to this character: my concept for writing A the way I did basically started out as: "What if a kind and non-competitive and fairly naive kid was sent to Wammy's and had to try to make sense of that kind of cutthroat environment all on their own?" Because that's basically probably how younger me would've been, hahaha

8: thing that gives me second-hand embarrassment about this character: There's not really enough about A in the novel to feel embarrassed about

9: cinnamon roll or problematic fave?: definitely was a cinnamon roll in my eyes, but we don't really actually know that for sure

AxB + APPEARANCE: As kids I think that B was a very sleek and organized little fella with very neatly maintained and well-fitting clothes and A was an absent-minded ragamuffin who always had dragging pantcuffs and oversized sweaters and holes in their shoes and socks. I love to just... make them complete opposites. I'm always a sucker for a good contrast in a pair. As a cute little codependent couple at Wammy's I definitely picture B like keeping himself busy while he talks A's ear off by always doing things like picking all the lintballs off A's sweaters one-by-one and tidying up A's side of the room, because he's a bit of a controlling neatfreak, and A's a bit of a depressed hoarder with a living space that looks like a cyclone ran through it a couple of different times. I don't have a super clear idea of what A actually looks like, other than the sleepy/sweet/depressed/shabby vibes?? But for B I have a very clear image of him... he's got jet black naturally straight hair that he tucks behind his ears, he's got some magnificent and dramatic natural eyebrows (because all the funnier to make him shave 'em off in order to look more like L), he's gangly and he's angular and tall and he's constantly on the move and looking for some sort of shit to disturb
