Hello there! I’m happy to answer.
- I’m not actually a biologist, I just really like biology and try and soak up anything new related to it I can find. That’s why I call myself an amateur biologist, I’m not really an authority figure and don’t have a degree. I did try to go to college to become one though, but I went when Covid hit so it didn’t work out.
- It’s kinda hard to really say what my favorite monster is because there’s a lot of things I like across many different monsters. The ones I can say are my favorites with confidence are Deviljho, Anjanath, Glavenus, Tigrex, the Raths (design wise in 5th gen), and Magnamalo (in an ironic way).
- I’m aware of some of these phylogenetic theories. I ascribe to the synapsid fanged wyvern theory for the most part myself, and with the exception of Tobi-Kadachi I think they’re all various synapsids.
Scansoriopterygid flying wyverns is a theory I used to ascribe to as well but eventually disagreed with and began to think that they and bird wyverns arose from a sister group to dromeosaurs/troodontids/aves. I actually talked about my current proposal for how that would work out in two recent posts. Another reason for that though is because I want to headcanon them as paraves, which are tied with tyrannosaurs for my favorite dinosaur family, and some recent studies propose that Scansoriopterygids might be oviraptorsaurs instead.
The various herbivorous brute wyverns being Pachyrhinosaurs is actually new to me, and I can see them being marginocephalians of some kind but maybe not pachys specifically. The herbivorous brutes have flexible tails, and pachycephalosaurs don’t because of their caudal basket. The caudal basket is basically a series of overlapping ossified tendons in the tails of pachycephalosaurs that made them very rigid. I personally have them and uragaan/radobaan as heterodontosaurs due to their diet and tusks.
Paolumu as a mammal I’ve seen float around, same with the cave wyverns being amphibians. Paria as an amphibian is new to me. Pukei as an amphibian seems pretty unlikely to me just because of the feathers, but it being related to the cave wyverns I have seen and I ascribe to it as well. My own idea is that the cave wyverns, paolumu, and pukei are a group of paravian flying wyverns that ancestrally were brood parasites with a cloaca on their tail tip to make it easier to brood parasitize and had a more muscular face and inflatable neck sacks connected to their avian respiratory system. Pukei lost the neck sacks and muscular face while paolumu lost the brood parasitism, and the cave wyverns went all in on all three (and the neck sacks are how they extend their necks).
- I don’t really like avocados that much. I’m a picky eater because of my Anosmia.

mhm! So flipnote studio was actually an app on the dsi! it was for animating indeed, and while it was very simplistic in design people made a LOT of cool animations with it! for example, a couple of flipnote artists we really looked up to back in the day were EpicGuitar and ShinyEevee:

Hatena was our first social media, it's where we met our bff of like. over 10 years? when did we meet exactly??? in 2013 I think JESUS IT'S BEEN LIKE 11 YEARS @primordial0riginator ??????????? I'm getting off topic but what the fuck time flies! so yeah hatena's pretty important to us cuz not only did it kickstart our love for animation and helping us take art seriously, we also met like. Our Best Friend In The Entire World there!
Back to hatena though it was like. Hell sometimes HDJSJSJDKDDKS you'd go to check the most popular flipnotes and of course see The Big Popular Famous Guys (Epic, ShinyEevee, Gizmo... God who else. I'm having a mind blank fbdhshxjfjdb) but also sooooo much spam because hatena worked on a. "give this flipnote Stars" system where you could just sit down and spam click a button and give a flipnote an infinite amount of gold stars? which were like... Likes fhdjsjdjdsjd.
There were other stars too though. Green stars, you got those for correctly reporting theft of flipnotes as compensation! There were also blue, red, and purple stars! Blue and red stars you had to buy, same with purple stars I think, but you could gift em all out after you bought em. Getting any coloured star was seen as a badge of honour or some shit, ESPECIALLY purple stars. If you got a purple star you were FUCKING. AMAZING. you were like, talk of the town for a bit. Those fuckers were EXTREMELY FUCKING RARE. probably because they cost a shitton.
Actually scratch that, I just googled it and apparently they were so rare because you could only get them in the most expensive stars pack (you could buy coloured stars in packs btw!) and they weren't even guaranteed to show up, what the fuck? Not to mention this app was full of children and young teens, barely any adults posting flipnotes, so you KNOW everyone's parents were like.... Nnnahhhhhhh to buying coloured stars HSDNSHSJSJDSJ. We vividly remember ShinyEevee getting a purple star and we were SO happy for him tbh
And!!! speaking of stars even more, they could be used not just on flipnotes but to buy custom themes for your creator room! A creator room was like. Your profile. You could customize it after you hit a certain milestone (something like having a registered active account for more than a week idr exactly) and good LIRD they had tons of themes to choose from HFDNDKDKDKXJZ i remember a fairly cheap one we saved up for iirc was a galaxy theme? it was. very pretty and only costed green stars. I'm sure there were themes out there that needed purple stars to be purchased but Whateverrrrr HDDHDJDHDJD
uhhhh what else. The most popular type of flipnote was the AMV, animated music video. You'd see tons of people's furry ocs lipsyncing to Whatever Popular Pop Songs have been playing on the radio recently and if you were lucky those flipnotes would be Unlocked, meaning you can download them and change them—obviously this was a huge sign of trust because people WOULD ABSOLUTELY STEAL YOUR FUCKING ART FHFHCJDJDDJFJ but anyway. People would leave their notes unlocked all the time so others could spin em off and use the audio to animate to.
There were AVs, Animated videos, which were like. not music videos obvs but short comedy tidbits? Like. using the audio from family guy or SpongeBob instead of music. Those were popular too ofc but not as much as AMVs; a few creators were known for their AVs moreso than their AMCVs though! and usually people did a mix of both cuz AVs didn't take as long to animate than AMVs did cuz people put E F F O R T into making AMVs usually JEHDJDSJDJDU
There were PVs, picture videos, where the animation was very limited. Nowadays ig those are called animatics! Usually set to music, and the music was generally vocaloid. Not much to say about em tbh
uhhhhjjj what else... We remember people would "import" flipnotes too. Usually really well animated Japanese flipnotes. Idk how they'd do it, but they'd get onto japanese hatena somehow and download tons of popular flipnotes from over there and repost them (with proper credit... sometimes.) to american hatena. those also got super popular usually!
I think that's it tbh! It was a nice and sorta niche community that made up a lotta people's childhoods. Hatena itself shut down in 2013 or 2014, and was quickly replaced with Sudomemo, which... Hoo lord. Sudomemo is its own can of worms HDDHSJDJDJDSIDK. Lotta good animators over there too but afaik it's either DEAD dead now (as in, not active at ALL) or it's also been shut down? Not sure tbh. But yeah! There's the basics of what hatena was, there's tons of video essays out there going into more depth if you're ever curious though!

Attack of the Replicons
The Biopharmaceutical Complex's self-amplifying mRNA assault has already begun.

The Biopharmaceutical Complex is preparing for the large-scale deployment of replicon (self-amplifying) mRNA injections. There are currently at least 33 candidatesin development.
These products behave like a synthetic virus. The replicon mRNA is designed to encode not only the target antigen but also viral replicase, enabling the mRNA to replicate itself within the target cells. This replication machinery allows for an unknown period of toxic antigen production. Concerningly, none of the clinical trials have addressed the major concern of product shedding.
The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) are the primary funders behind this technology to combat ‘Disease X’. This is an extremely high risk ‘vaccine’ platform that should be avoided at all costs. Cellular installation of synthetic replicons requires decades of intense safety testing.
The very first replicon injection for human use received emergency use authorization (EUA) from The Office of the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) back in June 2022: Gennova Biopharmaceuticals’ GEMCOVAC-19. This was followed by reckless EUA approval in June 2023 for GEMCOVAC-OM, a replicon booster shot that targets the Omicron strain.
In November 2023, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) fully approved CSL and Arcturus Therapeutics' replicon shot: KOSTAIVE ARCT-154. Dismissing all concerns, Japan’s MHLW approved the updated booster shot in September 2024 to target the JN.1 lineage of Omicron subvariants.
In the clinical trials for ARCT-154, 5 deaths occurred among the injected in study phase 3b. Injected participants experienced a 90% adverse event rate (74.5% systemic - 15.2% required medical attention) after the first dose in study phases 1, 2, and 3a combined. Many of the authors are full time employees of Arcturus Therapeutics, meaning their conclusions are likely biased.
Meanwhile, the USDA quietly approved an experimental self-amplifying RNA injection for dogs developed by Merck in June 2024: Nobivac NXT Canine Flu H3N2. It appears that Merck is attempting to camouflage the fact that this product is self-amplifying. The primary product description only indicates that it uses “revolutionary RNA particle technology.” However, the novel platform works by RNA particles targeting dendritic cells, where they self-replicate and result in sustained antigen production.
The possibility of product shedding from dogs to humans or other animals was never tested. This injection is currently widely available for online purchase and canine administration. While the Biopharmaceutical Complex struggles to get self-amplifying mRNA injections approved for humans, they seem to have no problem targeting our pets.
Deployment of this experimental platform has continued in September 2024 to target cats: Nobivac NXT FeLV. Nowhere in the product brochure does it mention the RNA self-amplification mechanism of action. They hope that unsuspecting vets won't think twice about accepting the 'new and improved' product. The so-called 'safety' data for this product is as follows:
“Demonstrated safety under field conditions" from "Data on file. Merck Animal Health."
In other words, no public safety data is provided. It's become abundantly clear that the pharmaceutical industry and captured regulatory agencies have zero regard for the massive safety concerns of undefined synthetic mRNA replication resulting in uncontrolled toxic antigen production. These experimental injections must not receive further regulatory approval for humans or animals if we are to prevent another public health disaster. All self-amplifying mRNA injections currently available for humans and animals should be immediately withdrawn until comprehensive, long-term safety studies are conducted.

The NYC subway map that never was. Or at least it was never implemented.
The NYC Subway graphics are some of the most requested artifacts from the Vignelli archives. We acquired this unique “verbal map” aka “The Directory” aka the “How to get there” map in 2022. Our archivist put it on display for the first time in 50 years at our Open Houses in September 2022!
“The Verbal Map described how to reach a destination, which train to get, where to change, and when to get out.” – Massimo Vignelli [comment on Michael Bierut’s essay “Mr. Vignelli Map” for Design Observer]
Printed on very glossy paper in full color, this map is large like the station size maps. Printed in two parts [top and bottom] each half measuring 29.5” x 47.5”.
In the Graphic Standards Manual on Page 3 “Diagram of Basic Sign Distribution” it describes the various maps to be installed:
Maps: System maps (implemented, the famous one),
neighborhood map (not implemented),
‘How to get there’ map (not implemented but we have the prototype!)
From the Graphics Standards Manual on page 75, “The Directory”:
“The directory is designed to help a passenger find his “Destination” and “How to get there” quickly and easily. Each station will have its own directory listing all other station alphabetically and numerically. Each station will be followed by the color disc designating he trains that stop there. If there is no direct train, transfer information will follow the station name. This directory will be placed at all important points in the subways station both inside and outside the turnstiles.”
We also have the Dekalb Av Signage Study “analyzed and completed by Joan Charysyn and Virginia Macintosh” for Unimark International in 1971 which shows a mockup of the various maps and states “A directory and three maps will eventually be in use in all subway stations.”

Space Shuttle, Phase B: Grumman Design 518
Information from Grumman's submitted application on their design:
"Design 518 is a fully responsive and balanced reusable, two-stage design based on the prescribed 3.5 million lb gross lift-off weight (GLOW). The aerodynamic configuration of the orbiter was. derived from an investigation of straight, swept delta, and lifting body configurations. The selec ted lifting body appears competitive in all respects (weight, flying qualities, elastic characteristics) and provides the potential for straightforward evolution to high crossrange reentry as thermal protection systems become qualified. Evaluation of a single aerodynamic configuration will provide a clear cut understanding of the weight, performance, and cost penalties associated with increased cross range. In the low cross-range mode, results to date show that the 3.5 million lb GLOW limits the fully internal payload to 32,200 lb. The Design 518 orbiter represents a near optimum balance between size of vehicle, size of payload, and propulsion capa bility (AV) apportionment.
The Design 518 booster is a weight conscious, conservatively designed delta-wing configuration which includes the prescribed 400,000 lb thrust high-pressure rocket engines. A refinement which demands investigation is the application of larger, 1,000,000 Ib thrust high-pressure engines. Preliminary design. will be performed on Design 518, as described in Section 1 of this proposal. An acquisition plan will be created which will include the 400,000 lb thrust high-pressure engines and other characteristics decribed in the Statement of Work and its appendices. The program cost will be assessed for the IOC of late 1977. Grumman and its associates will pursue all of the objectives and requirements of the RFP for Design 518. In summary, Design 518 demonstrates that an attractive and promising responsive design can be achieved within the 3.5 million lb GLOW. With refinement, which can be expected during the Phase B study, we believe that improved payload capability can be obtained while continuing to observe the weight margin rules called for by the RFP."

Oc design for Bailey by: @smokedbeans
I've been getting back into W101 this year, which of course meant I was searching it in tags on Artfight, and I stumbled upon Bailey (right) and I LOVED her design. I can always appreciate a wizard that breaks the design system of the base game, y'know getting creative with it. Who says there can't be a wizard with dragon (or fish) features. I drew her with one of my wiz Oc's, Morgrim cause I thought there'd be a cute dynamic between them, as well as them both being unique species wiz. I really like how the characters turned out, but even I can admit I had a TOUGH time on this background. I had up reference pics of Triton Ave cause I thought the gloomy rainy background would be cute for Morgrim holding an umbrella over their heads, but the angle I had up was just too complicated for my fried brain after fully coloring and lining the characters. I tried to do a painterly stylization and it just ended up looking messy, and by the time I was done I had forgotten why I even picked Triton Ave in the first place, and forgot the rain. I do want to work on my backgrounds for next year as I know that is absolutely where my work is the weakest.

whats up motornation or whatever do we do ocs here
wanted to finalize my design of my girl oc for this show so i decided to make her in VROID, as i often do when i need to finalize an oc design, cuz its fun to use and pretty versatile if you know your way around textures n shit
speaking of that, the textures of the hair, shirt, gloves, socks were drawn by me (by editing the t-shirt and otk socks items, but i freehanded the gloves' texture)
prince's infodump about how i made the shoes and also who the oc is under the cut cuz its long:
the way vroid works is kind of weird where shoes can be edited on a sort of grid thats a certain height (this goes for most of the items honestly) regardless of shoe height. basically the shoes i used as the base here were low-top sneakers that I drew a texture over using the grid system to make them into demonia boots. I also made the soles go as platform as possible in the settings to help them look like those.
This oc is named Avery (Ava for short). She used to live in Deluxe but fell into MotorCity (literally) after the walls of her pod shut off by accident in the middle of the night. While there, she met a barely working H.O.U.N.D that she'd activated by accident when he broke her fall in the scrapyard she ended up in, taking him in as her new pet/protector in this weird new place (she calls him Pup, by the way. hes completely harmless and acts like a real dog, unless someone tries to hurt Ava lol) The scrapyard ended up being the home base of a weird boy named Victor (though he calls himself Mazk, due to the weird mask he wears that covers half his face) who doesn't trust her at all due to her Deluxian appearance. She returns to the scrapyard later, having acquired clothes that more closely reassembled his (though she wears a very poofy skirt underneath her oversized band tee, much to his chagrin) and dyed her hair a very dark pink (she used to be blonde) and this convinces him to let her join his gang (of one guy) and she suggests becoming a band, dubbing them "AV Club" (Ava and Victor club!!! or audiovisual club depending on which member you ask)
Being fairly close to the edge of MotorCity (or as close as they're able to get to the border, cuz i think it was canon that nobody lives/is allowed to live 20-25 miles from the borders?) means the two (+ Pup) dont interact with other gangs as much, though they do think the Burners are cool. They don't normally drive their car, AJAX (a 1965 Red Mustang Convertible) but they do use her for the kitchen installed in the backseat and the hidden amps she has for their music.
