I like when fandoms grow because more people discover the media! But despite being thriller S.BG has drawn a younger audience. This ain't a bad thing I am technically "younger audience" but it is painfully clear that lots of us are very new to fandom. Y'all have GOT to learn to BLOCK AND MOVE ON. I cannot browse the tag without seeing people arguing over a WEBTOON and tagging people and hating on other users. Block and move on. Please. It is always better to block and move on

maybe i'm seeing the wrong discourse post but besides the ugly comment i didn't really see a lot wrong with the post?? i mean this genuinely i don't think i'm reading it right or something because i've seen a lot of people talking about it and i'm not getting it

oh tbh my post regarding the bodyshaming wasn't about that, i scheduled that one earlier today (i tend to do that and then reconsider if i really wanna post things) but then it posted literally minutes before someone sent me that post...

what's wrong with that post is the fact that no one fucking asked or prompted it. which yk i get that people love attention and playing the victim (while claiming some responsibility too for a change, let's give credit where credit's due).

the fact of the matter is that i've yet to see a single post that tells people that they have to love Tommy, that they have to ship bt and that they have to love Lou.

what people are trying to tell the antis is that they should not be homophobic about it, that they should not reblog posts about the thing they don't like just to tell the people that do like it that they're stupid for doing so and to just generally focus on their own thing instead.

don't like something? mute the goddamn tag. it's your responsibility to curate your dash and fandom experience.

but the fact that people feel the need (and this bit goes for both or however many sides atp) to circulate the same goddamn discourse over and over every week, to post big think pieces that no one asked for, knowing that the people in their barracks will pat them on the back for their "bravery" only to generate drama out of thin air, when the fandom is so fucked as it is, is just beyond annoying at this point.

but don't fucking make it your life's mission to shit on something other people like. it should be that easy. and yet.

also i don't think you're reading it wrong, i just think you're nice enough to give people the benefit of the doubt and have empathy towards the people who feel unheard, plus you may have missed the weeks and weeks of lead-up to this. and i'm sure you're not the only one.

however, i will say that i'm personally not about to throw a fit and say "you should unfollow me if xyz" cuz i don't think that's a fair way of going about it or that it has anything to do with that tbh. i think everyone can decide for themselves how involved they want to be in certain aspects of fandom and that goes for any type of discourse too.

i just get frustrated sometimes and have to leave little tag posts occasionally to blow some steam, i'm only human yk
