Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Aprile, 1931. This car started out with a Zagato body and became part of the competitive racing scene of the 1930s powered by a supercharged straight 6 engine. In 1938 it was acquired by coachbuilder Aprile of Savona after which the car's body was restyled by Mario Revelli di Beaumont. More recently it has been restored

1950 GILCO-ALFA ROMEO 6C 2500 SUPERGIOIELLO COUPE

In 1950, Ghia built a series of four Supergioiello Coupe bodies with Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 underpinnings. All featured similar characteristics – a clean modern profile, steeply raked windscreen, compact greenhouse, and wheel discs – but no two were exactly alike. The first produced was bought by Prince Igor Troubetzkoy as a gift for his wife Barbara Hutton, the millionaire Woolworth’s heiress. The second car, updated to feature a traditional Alfa Romeo grille, made its debut at the Torino Auto Show in May 1950 and won first prize at the Concorso d’Eleganza della Carrozzeria at the Pincio Terrace in Italy. The third car, distinguished by its striking two-tone color scheme, was unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza del Lido di Venezia in August 1950.

The car presented here is the fourth and final Supergioiello Coupe in this series. SOLD FOR $1,250,000 at Pebble Beach Auctions on Aug 19, 2022

on one hand I'm delighted by the weather we're having (extremely unseasonably mild) and taking full advantage but on the other hand I'm filled with dread understanding that our winters are going to get progressively more mild for the rest of my life

Alfa Romeo 6C 2500S Berlinetta, 1939 by Castagna. To meet the demand for their new 6C 2500 Sport Berlinetta, Alfa Romeo entrusted part of the production to Carrozzeria Castagna. Production was limited to a dozen cars, spread over two series. Today only chassis 915066 is known to have survived. The original six-cylinder engine has replaced with a V12 prototype "S10" engine that Gioachino Colombo had designed for Alfa Romeo in the late 30s. The S10 type was intended to replace the 6C, but the events of the war stopped further development.

The buns represent all aspects of my personality for the cold months:

Chewie: finds a sunbeam and naps in it

Shion: hides in his blanket fort

Nyx: removes herself from all activity and will bite you if you try to interact

I also discovered that Nyx has even less tolerance for being touched with gloves. My fingers were freezing yesterday, but since they don't smell like me, Nyx did NOT like being touched with them.

Shion didn't even bother to run. He was so happy to be brought back inside where he could immediately disappear into his hidey house
