Jill Valentine: All About the Past
Tumblr media
Date of Birth: February 14th, 1992
Place of Birth: Manhattan, New York
Home: Valentine-Westbrook Estate, in the outskirts of Manhattan.
Family: She’s the third child of Haley (née Westbrook) and Matthew Valentine, and the second daughter. The oldest, Lucas Valentine, was born on January 12th, 1882, followed by Katherine Valentine, born on March 16th, 1884. The youngest, Ivy Valentine, was born on April 18th, 1994.
Tumblr media
Growing up, Jill was a total daddy’s girl. And the Valentine girls had Matthew completely wrapped around their little fingers. He would go to the ends of the Earth if his girls asked him to. She wasn’t as close with her mother; the two of them had similar strong character, so they usually clashed, but their relationship was still strong. All of that was until the moment Jill decided to pursue human medicine instead of veterinary medicine, like she was supposed to. Her decision created a huge rift between them, and although they didn’t disown her and still paid for her education, her parents didn’t save their comments to themselves. Both of them, but especially her mother, made sure that she understood how disappointed they were in her. They thought she was throwing away her life, all they had built for her. Jill got used to those resentful comments and passive-aggressive remarks, but they still did their fair share of damage, and her relationship with her parents was never the same after that.
Jill is much closer with her older brother than with any of her sisters, because they share the most similarities, but the four of them are tight-knit. Lucas is ten years older than her, and the considerable age-gap caused their relationship to be as smooth as it could get between siblings. Since the moment she was born, Jill became Luke’s little princess, he spoils her immensely and he’s defensive and overprotective when it comes to her. In turn, Luke became Jill’s hero, and she looks up to him for absolutely everything. And when the time came, Luke was the one to really believe and support her, unlike their parents.
Her relationship with Katherine varies from time to time. Kat is eight years older than Jill, and acts as a protective and bossy older sister as much as she can. The age-gap is enough so they don’t exactly fight for possessions or games like a pair of sisters would. Though, much to Jill’s dismay, Katherine is almost an exact copy of their mother, so she clashes with her more than with the rest of her siblings. It also doesn’t help that Jill grew up being constantly compared to Katherine, so there’s a residual resentment underneath that make their relationship rocky from time to time. Still, the two love each other deeply and would do anything for one another.
With Ivy, the dynamic shifted, because she was no longer dealing with older siblings; with her, Jill became the older sister. shes two years older than Ivy. She’s protective and defensive of her, but without being overbearing like their two older siblings would. Being closest in age, they shared most moments growing up and bonded over their similar experiences together. Between them, existed the usual fights for toys, games, clothes and make-up that didn’t exist with the other two, but also a better understanding of what the other was experiencing. Still, while Jill is a close copy of their older brother, Ivy resembles Katherine more, so they clash from time to time.
Tumblr media
Jill grew up in a privileged home, as part of a wealthy family. Though, her parents didn’t want a nanny to raise their kids, so they got involved as much as they could and were really hands-on. They had a butler, Roman, that was just as involved as their parents, but never stepped in as a replacement for them. She grew up with three siblings, two older and one younger, in the family estate, in the outskirts of Manhattan.
Coming from a traditional family with old money, Jill’s upbringing was different from what anyone expected; it was a pretty strict environment. As per custom, at the age of six, each Valentine has to take a set of important decisions, established from generation to generation; they have to choose an artistic skill to develop, a music instrument, a language to study and a sport, so all of them would be educated in every area. Jill chose dancing, piano, French and tennis, respectively. And, coming from a family of veterinarians, at the age of ten each Valentine gets a pet, so they can learn to be responsible and mature from a young age; each of them are in charge of everything their pet might need, including food, exercise, medicines, etc. Jill’s first pet was a cat named Theo.
Even though she’s from a wealthy family, Jill was taught to do chores and earn everything by herself. She was taught to cook the basics, do laundry, sweep, vacuum, wash dishes, clean bathrooms, dust, mop, iron clothes, mow the lawn… And once she turned fifteen, she was also expected to work half-time two days a week at the Veterinary Hospital with her parents, to learn about hard work. She had a trust-fund, but she never used it because she only spent what she had truly earned.
Growing up, she also struggled with really connecting with people outside of her family. Because of her vibrant personality, Jill got along with everyone, but she only considered one of them her true friend, Hunter Griffin. Hunter and Jill became inseparable from the moment they met, when they were merely five years-old, and their friendship only grew stronger with time, and she was sure Hunter loved her for exactly who she was, that’s why it was easy to open up to him. Jill always hated how most of people either wanted her for her family’s fame or money, or expected her to be a clone of her older sister, so she learned to not get too attached to people, friendship-wise and relationship-wise.
All in all, it was a pretty strict and intense environment. It didn’t help that, in her eyes, her older sister, Katherine, was apparently perfect in every aspect, and Jill always felt like she was living in her sister’s shadow, being constantly compared to her. All of it combined only prompted Jill’s partying habit to break out, as a coping mechanism. And even if she partied up as a teenager, she was always the responsible one, never drinking nor doing drugs, but simply letting loose.
Tumblr media
Even though Jill lived to her party girl reputation, she kept up her grades close to perfect, which was the main reason her parents could never ground her for going to any and every party and staying out all she wanted. She attended Léman Manhattan Preparatory School with perfect record. She kept up her GPA and was appointed Valedictorian and Prom Queen, just like the rest of her siblings and family members before them. As a teen socialite, she was constantly bothered by paparazzi and also quite under the spotlight, so every little thing she did ended up being public knowledge, to the point where she’s also been photographed for a few magazine issues. She was a debutante, like it was custom for everyone in her family, and has attended more balls, galas, reunions and charity events than any normal teenager. Though, even if she gained quite a reputation, in public events with her family she’s always been seen as polite, diplomatic, elegant, and downright charismatic, which earned the media’s favor.
Most of it continued all the way to college. She moved away from New York when she was accepted into Harvard; however, she wasn’t a known public figure in Boston, which was something she welcomed deeply, so she finally earned some peace and privacy. She toned down her party girl habits to only from time to time when she felt like it, and instead focused mainly on her studies. Jill quickly became the top student of her class and graduated with honors, part of it because it was something she was passionate about, and another part of it to prove her parents that this was the path for her.
Tumblr media
From the moment she turned fifteen, her family set them up with one of her classmates, from another well-known family. His name was Augustus Danvers. The two of them got along great and even though they both tried to make it work, for their families’ sakes, they quickly discovered they didn’t have any actual romantic feelings for one another. Their first time was with each other, but not because there were feelings; it was more because they were used to each other and wanted to get over the curiosity. After that, they came to an agreement, to keep it an open relationship, where both of them could see other people and date whoever they wanted, but for family gatherings and social events, they pretended to be together. Even though they weren’t really together, they agreed to break-up, secretly, during winter break in their senior year, and later amicably broke-up in public after their prom dance.
It was Jill’s only ‘serious’ relationship. Given that she had learned to not get too attached to people, friendship-wise and relationship-wise because of her family name, she never got too close to anyone, and never felt the true want to commit to a single person. She had a long string of casual dates and hookups, but never an actual relationship. It also didn’t help that, from a young age, Jill was witness to Katherine’s devastating heartbreak after being left at the altar, and since that moment, Jill swore to never let that happen to herself. Though, she’s always honest with anyone she’s seeing about what she wants and what she doesn’t, because she would never get someone’s hopes up just to destroy them. She’s mature enough to know what to say to keep things honest and transparent, drama-free, and when to walk away when it’s not something that works for her or the other person.
Once she moved to Boston, she kept things short and casual with everyone. At Edenbrook, she pursued a friends-with-benefits, no-strings-attached kind of relationship with Bryce Lahela, and even went on a couple of casual dates with Rafael Aveiro. Though, Ethan was the game changer. She didn’t realize she was falling for him until it was too late and there was no going back.

Todoroki Kids Quirk Theory
Enji Todoroki, AKA Flame Hero: Endeavor, who has a very strong fire Quirk called “Hellflame”, wishes to beat the Symbol of Peace: All Might at all costs, but he realized that his Quirk and strength alone wouldn’t be able to do that since All Might was always two steps ahead of him.
So, he decided to create the “perfect” offspring that will be able to defeat All Might in his name. A child with a devastating strong Quirk that will take the spot as Number One Hero and never let anyone take it away from them.
Enji searched for a woman with a Quirk as strong as his or that will complement it in the child, and he found one.
A woman with snowy, pure white hair with  — ironically — an ice Quirk, Rei. He saw an incredible display of said Quirk if he took the decision to make a child with her, that or her family is one of generations of strong ice-based Quirk users.
Enji then bribed Rei’s family into allowing her to marry him and create a powerful successor. And as Rei didn’t have a say in this, their Quirk Marriage set sail. And eventually they had four children, few of which we already know of, if just slightly.
And in this post, I will theorize said children’s (possible) Quirks.
Tumblr media
(I wrote this jazz on a notebook like,, three or two years ago so I thought why not post it here as wrong as I may be with it,,,have patience fam,,)
From older to younger would be; Touya, Fuyumi, Natsuo, and Shouto, with each of them having an age gap of 3-4 years (a bit on the fence with Touya and Fuyumi here, since we don’t know how exactly old he was, so there could be tidbits of the theory that those two are twins).
A rundown of the kids, starting with the firstborn;
Touya Todoroki
Tumblr media
Very little is known about Touya, even simple yet crucial facts like his hair color are confusing due to the Manga and Anime adaptation. What we do know is;
He had red hair.
A fire Quirk stronger than Endeavor’s but a body that couldn’t withstand it.
He died at a very young age of either 12 or 14/15 by causes most likely related to said Quirk.
To add to his weak constitution inherited by Rei, Touya looks to be the shortest out of all his siblings, despite being the oldest. I’d also say he was he meekest of them all, if only for a few years if I go by his body language in the two (2) full images we’re given ( i.e. clinging onto natsuo’s shirt, keeping his arms close to his body, hair covering his face— namely his eyes, likely to avoid making direct eye-contact with endeavor):
I’m personally inclined to believe that he had Enji’s turquoise eyes too, seeing as either his eyes or hair seem to be a distinct telltale sign of the fiery factor of his Quirk. and then boom he had gray eyes all along,, or either sectoral-heterochromia, or central heterochromia and the manga is deceiving us
Fuyumi Todoroki
Tumblr media
The one and only girl of the four siblings while also the second born of Enji and Rei. Like her older brother, Fuyumi’s colors (her eyes) differ from the Manga and the Anime, but since we’re following the latter’s palette...
She has gray eyes like her mother behind a pair of red glasses.
Has mostly spiky/messy white hair with red streaks.
She is a primary school teacher.
Her behavior is more like Rei’s; soft-spoken and kind.
As another color-fact, out of everyone else in the family, she’s the only to use colors related to red (any color of that palette, contrary to her younger brothers that deliberately seem to avoid anything related to that color, and so use mostly cold tones).
She can’t handle hot weather.
Her Quirk is unknown, if she even has one, but it should’ve been deemed weak or useless by Endeavor if she wasn’t put through the training Touya was, therefore becoming the first of her brothers to suffer from his neglect.
Natsuo Todoroki
Tumblr media
Natsuo seems to be the most hellbent and prominent out of his siblings on his hate for their father, voicing his thoughts about him at any given chance, and also the one that looks closest to Rei.
Pure snowy white hair, but spiky like Enji’s.
Gray eyes, fully resembling his mother with nothing red that could remind him of his father, unlike his frame which is bulky like Endeavor’s.
Repressed anger issues.
He feels sensitive towards warm weather.
The tallest out of all his siblings.
Funny enough, Natsuo is a combination of Rei’s looks and Enji’s muscular build. Any signs of a Quirk are unknown, but either way he was deemed useless and thrown into the burning pile along with his big sister.
Shouto Todoroki
Tumblr media
The golden egg of the Todo Children. The one Enji could, after so much time, call his masterpiece, the perfect offspring to finally topple All Might off his high horse. Everything Touya failed to be, Shouto is. A perfect combination of both himself and Rei.
Perfectly split white and red hair.
A gray eye and distinctive turquoise eye.
Ice and fire.
Shouto’s Quirk is Half-Cold Half-Hot; allowing him to create ice and fire from his right and left side respectively. He needs the two sides of his Quirk to nullify their drawbacks; too much of the right side leads to frostbite or hypothermia, too much of the left side leads to either overheating, dehydration or self-burns.
Now that we know the Todo-kids, their personalities, and Quirk too (or lack thereof), let’s dive into theorizing of the lacking two;
Fuyumi and Natsuo   — The Flukes
Tumblr media
Going off of appearances, I’d say Fuyumi could be the exact opposite of Touya. While having Rei’s eyes and most of her white hair, I’d say she could have her same ice Quirk but not being able to withstand it. Contrary to Touya that has Enji’s fire Quirk, but a constitution more adapt for ice.
I.e. She could create ice as strong as Rei’s, but the constitution of her body is weak and causes her to easily fall into a light to severe case of frostbite or hypothermia. Or on the other hand, she can create ice, but isn’t as strong as Rei’s, thereof a disappointment. On the third hand I just pulled out of my ass; an extremely weak fire Quirk, a constitution more suited for ice.
Natsuo is a more complicated case here. He looks nothing like Endeavor aside from his jock build, He looks like Rei down to a tee, and that makes me think of three possibilities for his Quirk.
He is resistant to ice AND fire, but isn’t able to manipulate them in any way.
He is able to resist and create ice, and seeing as he only had Rei’s part of the Quirk, labelled as an immediate failure for Endeavor.
Or the option I have no compelling argument for but I’m really bias to believe: He’s Quirkless, plain and simple. If this one’s the real deal, then it’s likely that he’d be the BIGGEST disappointment out of all the other kids to Enji. I mean, one thing is having just one side, but not having neither? In a world were 80% of the world has a Quirk as useless as it may be?? In his house??? Outrageous!
Any of these options lead to immediate alienation of his family so either is acceptable tbh.
SO! To try and wrap this whole mess up with some nice percentages!
Touya is a 100% of both of his parents’ 50%
Being able to create fire but with a constitution more adapt to ice.
Fuyumi could be/is a 100% of her parents’ 50%
Being able to create ice — that could or not be stronger than Rei’s — but having a constitution more adapt for fire. Therefore, if Endeavor ever tried to train her, she’d have no visible burn marks whatsoever.
Natsuo could be/is a 100% of his parents 50%
Being able to withstand fire and ice but not manipulate them in any way.
Or the unfortunate one, being part of the 20% of humanity that doesn’t have a Quirk.
Shouto is a 200% of his parents’ 100%
Being able to resist AND create both fire and ice to an extent as long as he uses one to counter the side effects of the other. I.e. using too much fire might get him a third-degree burn if his ice doesn’t cools down the effects and keeping his body temperature at bay. Having a constant balance between the two, one not being able to work fully well without the other — as much as he hates it.
yeah that’s it thanks for coming to my ted talk please message me with things to write gdi i’m bored and scared for the hobo man

Sibling relationships
I’m @blood.writing on instagram oops
Sibling relationships can be hard to write. Especially if you are an only child, and every sibling relationship can be different.
So here comes me. With bad grammar and tips to help you out.
First of all, every child is treated differently. I as the oldest out of three got treated very differently than my youngest brother. This may also be because I’m a girl. An example:
I at the age of 11 got my first phone. A Nokia, that couldn’t store more than 10 photos. I got it because I had to bike to school for 30 minutes. And my parents were nervous and wanted to be able to call me. My younger brother, got my Nokia after me. For the exact same reason. He also started biking at the age of 11. Before that he and I would always be brought to school. My youngest brother, got a bigger smartphone than I have currently. At the age of 10. See the difference? But he had to start biking from the age of 10.
My point: parents are always most protective over the firstborn. It’s the kid that tries out everything for the first time. This isn’t just the first time for the kid, it’s also the first time for the parents. Sleeping over at a friend for the first time ever? Fun for the kid. But can make the parents nervous. After a while they will get used to it. And the other siblings will be able to sleep over easier. Hence why I wasn’t allowed to sleep over at a friend till the age of 8 and my youngest brother could at 6.
Other real things I have/had/did with my siblings:
1. I had a favourite sibling from the age of 4 to 13. Probably the one who bothered me the least at that moment. It would switch all the time.
2. Age gaps between siblings are a real thing. I’m 15 and my brother is 10. We see the world completely different. I can relate way less to him than to my 14 year old brother. We have things in common. But not that much. Even though my 10 year old brother used to be my favourite sibling for a while. But like I said it changes. And just now I’m starting to notice more and more differences because of age difference.
3. My brothers have some days where they will do anything just to annoy me. They will walk in my room 24/7. Stare at me, say hi. And walk right back out. Imagine that but 20 times a day. It gets annoying. And then when you call them out on it they will probably act shocked.
4. My parents always take my youngest brother side. In any argument me and my brother have. This shows that the youngest sibling is probably seen as the most innocent.
5. Physical fights are a thing. I once got into an argument with my brother. And we literally fought each other because we were both very stubborn. And I was a pretty athletic kid, so I obviously won. And my mom was literally afraid that the school would think my parents abused him. I beat him up that bad.
6. We get into arguments over the stupidest things. And can be some hell of a good friends two hours later. Without apology’s, we don’t do those unless our parents make us apologise. The fights magically solve itself. We probably forget about it. Since it was literally so stupid. It could be over the last bowl of cereal.
7. We have secrets about each other that our parents aren’t allowed to find out. And well, we aren’t afraid to use that against each other as argument in one of those thousands of discussions.
8. I call my brother the stupidest of names ever. From idiot to disgusting uncultured swine from the swamps of Shrek.
9. I LOVE LOVE LOVE, to embarrass my brother when his friends are nearby. He doesn’t obviously, but will delightfully do the same to me. Especially when he’s with friends that don’t know me. And then I’ll act like some weird crackhead who’s friends with him.
10. Last one for now, we do a lot for each other. If my brother is sick, I’ll either make him food. Or laugh at him. There’s no inbetween and is probably 100% decided by what he screwed me over with, the days before he got sick.
11. Jk this is the last one. I will give them one of my kidneys. But my charger is out of boundaries. Get yo filthy hands off of it.
I hope these were somewhat useful. If you have any questions about whether your written sibling relationship is realistic. Feel free to ask.

For much of Caylin Newton's formative years, he has been known as "Cam's little brother."
It was a moniker that followed him throughout his childhood as his famous brother, 10 years his senior, excelled on the football field -- first winning the Heisman Trophy and BCS national championship at Auburn in 2010, then becoming the No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick in 2011, to becoming rookie of the year that same season and NFL MVP in 2015, when he led the Carolina Panthers to the Super Bowl. It stuck with Caylin Newton through high school and his recruiting process, and it followed him to Howard University, where he enrolled as a freshman back in January.
Caylin Newton is trying to change that -- though he may never truly escape it -- through his play as the Bison's starting quarterback, making a name for himself while quarterbacking a resurgent program in Washington D.C. that won a combined eight games the previous three seasons.
"I think I used to think about being in his shadow, but now it's like I really don't care what people think," Caylin Newton told AL.com. "I can't really worry about what people are going to call me. I know who I am. I know my title as Caylin Newton, so a person coming up to me and saying, 'Oh, you're Cam Newton's little brother,' it doesn't faze me any more like it used to. I'm just trying to find my own identity, and I've found it."
Caylin Newton has led Howard to a 7-3 record overall, including the biggest point-spread upset in college history Week 1 against UNLV. Winners of five straight games, Howard is 6-1 in the Mideastern Athletic Conference headed into its regular season finale, only a year removed from a 2-9 record.
He has been a big reason for that turnaround under first-year coach Mike London and first-year offensive coordinator Brennan Marion, a former record-setting receiver at Tulsa under Gus Malzahn.
Running an incarnation of Malzahn's offense, Caylin Newton has been one of the most productive players in the FCS this season. He ranks 14th among all players in total offense and is first among freshmen, averaging 290 yards per game. Newton is averaging 217.3 passing yards per game while completing 50.22 percent of his passes, throwing 13 touchdowns and running in 11 more.
"The biggest thing with him is just that he's fearless," Marion said. "He's a competitor. He has heart, and the kid is just like, when Saturday comes around, he comes alive. He loves being out there. He's not afraid of anybody. He's not in awe out there. He's not trying to be anybody's friend.
"He has the competitive edge, and that's really what takes him to the next level as far as his play. He kind of has the same confidence like his older brother has that, 'I'm out here and I'm going to make it happen.'"
There's a reason Caylin's confidence is reminiscent of his older brother's. Growing up, Caylin always looked up to his older brother, and despite the gap in their ages, a sibling rivalry always persisted and Cam pushed his little brother to be better.
"It was competitive always," Caylin Newton said. "Even when he was 18 and I was 8 and playing basketball, I would usually try to hang around with him. It was a big difference. You still had a close relationship, but it was almost like I was the only child for quite some time when he went off and my oldest brother was already gone.... To this day, we just have a really close relationship. I'm grateful."
***
Caylin never had the hype about him his big brother had.
Cam Newton was a five-star prospect coming out of high school in Atlanta when he first signed with Florida in 2007. He was the nation's top junior college quarterback when he arrived at Auburn in 2010. While Caylin Newton put up gaudy numbers (3,322 passing yards and 33 touchdowns, 1,036 rushing yards and 13 scores) at one of the highest levels of prep football in Georgia as a senior, that same buzz didn't follow him.
Cam had something his little brother didn't -- size. While the now-Carolina Panthers star was 6-foot-6 and 250 pounds, Caylin was just 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds. It's part of the reason he was just a three-star recruit and why no major FBS programs pursued him as a quarterback.
"We're in the day and age of potential," said Marion, who recruited Caylin Newton to Kentucky Christian before both wound up at Howard. "Everybody's all about social media and potential. If there's a 6-6 kid out there and he's not as good, they're going to go with the 6-6 kid because he could potentially be better. Sometimes if you see something, it's true. Sometimes if you see a good player, he's just a good player."
In Caylin Newton, Marion and London saw just that: a player who was capable of taking charge of an offense and executing at a high level despite not having some of the physical attributes of other more highly recruited players. He chose Howard, which he described in August as his Auburn, as a "leap of faith" because they embraced him as more than just a famous last name.
Caylin Newton on Howard: 'This is my Auburn'
Marion likened the younger Newton's under-the-radar recruitment to that of Oklahoma quarterback and Heisman favorite Baker Mayfield, who began his career as a walk-on at Texas Tech after receiving scholarship offers from only three programs: Rice, FAU and New Mexico.
"You want a quarterback who can take charge of any offense he's running, because at the end of the day, the quarterback is the team, whether it's little league, high school or the NFL," Marion said. "The quarterback is the team, and you want a guy that you can trust out there that can just take over. He has the ability to take over, and I think that's what people fear... That's one of the things that you see on his film. You can see him taking over."
He has done that plenty of times as a freshman for the Bison.
Caylin Newton scored the winning touchdown in a Week 1 upset of UNLV, when he ran in from 4 yards out to take a 43-40 lead over the Rebels midway through the fourth quarter. Last weekend against Norfolk State, he scored from 2 yards out with 5 seconds left on the clock to give the Bison a 28-24 come-from-behind victory at home for the team's fifth straight win. Against Florida A&M the week prior, he had a career-high 294 yards and three passing touchdowns to go with 141 rushing yards and another score in 37-26 Bison win.
"Failure wasn't in mind," Newton said. "Personal goals and as a team, we didn't plan on going 0-1 or 0-2 or having a losing season at all. The success part is not a surprise, but I mean, it's just real life.... It's just a blessing."
***
All Caylin Newton could see in Las Vegas was stars and the field in front of him.
Howard pulled off a historic upset, toppling 45-point favorite UNLV, 43-40 on the opening week of the season. That was the night Marion knew he had something special in Newton who made his first collegiate start.
Less than 2 minutes into the game, Newton put Howard ahead with a 52-yard touchdown run for the night's opening score. It was impressive, surely, but it wasn't the moment Marion knew his quarterback was the real deal; the Bison offensive coordinator knew, based on the play design, that if Newton pulled the ball on that exact call, he would have a chance to score.
The moment came on the final play of the first quarter, when a play broke down and Caylin Newton took off downfield, flattening a UNLV linebacker near midfield before running for another 20-plus yards and getting down to the UNLV 25-yard line before being taken down out of bounds.
"That's when I knew, alright, this dude's a little bit different," Marion said. "He's a little bit different from everybody else out here."
Newton, who arrived in January with goals of starting as a freshman, knew he had to show a certain level of consistency in his first start or risk losing his job. Midway through the third quarter, UNLV took a 12-point lead and Newton, realizing the opportunity was slipping away, knew he had to mature on the field immediately and "fight through the giant, quite literally."
He orchestrated a 14-play, 75-yard touchdown drive late in the third quarter and put Howard ahead by three with a 2-point conversion after a quick touchdown drive early in the fourth quarter. After the Rebels briefly retook the lead, Newton scored what proved to be the game-winning touchdown with a 4-yard run midway through the fourth.
Caylin Newton, Cam's brother, and former Gus Malzahn wide receiver led Howard to historic upset of UNLV
He finished the game with 140 passing yards and a touchdown on 15-of-26 passing and another 190 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 21 carries.
"He's only going to get better because he rises to the people around him," Marion said. "... We're not stacked with everybody's All-Americans around him. It's not like he took over the job at Clemson. He took over a job at a program that's been losing and down and out for a while. He's only going to get better, because a quarterback gets better with the people around him."
In the days that followed the win, Caylin received a congratulatory text message from Malzahn, who he has known since his brother's time at Auburn in 2010, and was inundated with interview requests -- from ESPN to The Washington Post and everywhere in between. The hype was "crazy" and something Caylin said he would have never imagined.

With his freshman season winding down, Caylin Newton feels he has "absolutely" done his part to make a name for himself.
"It's really about how I feel about myself," he said. "I couldn't care less about how people look at me. If I make myself proud, make my family proud, man, I wouldn't care (what others think). Of course, I would like my name to be my name and not somebody else's brother."
