"Hetaween 2024 Day 2: The silver werewolf"

Synopsis : The mysterious silver werewolf of germany's black forest have been wandering since centuries. More an oddity than a real threat, he is recognizable from any other animal by his strange cry : "Kesesese!". Oh yeah, and the tiny bird on his forehead too.

I've associated Prussia (and Germany) with wolf since a lonnnnnnng time. Not necessarily werewolf, but just being able to change to a big smug albino wolf.

He's just perfect in the role, and the black forest in autumn is so beautiful...

For this synopsis, I believe only Germania ( who protected him) and the bad touch trio knows. Not even Ludwig knows about him! Probably Hungary and Austria have doubts though. And of course his fierce friend Gilbird!

Heck, in one of my AU, he isn't even a country but since he hangs up a lot with the teutonic order and has a great longevity everyone mistake him for one! This would explain how he would been alive nowadays! ( although there's another "simple" explanation for that up my sleeve: the teutonic order still exists nowadays! Check out, it's true, although they are a charitable christian organization now.)

Outfit number 3 from Axis Power Hetalia, Prussia as a Teutonic Knight! ⚔️ I think this is one of the outfits where I made most pieces myself! The pants and long-sleeved T-shirt were bought, but the cape and tabard were made by yours truly~ Those garments are mostly straight lines, but long straight seams are the best way to learn! ⚔️ This was both very easy and very hard to make. There are very few full body official artworks out there (and with webcomic they tend to be quite… scrunchy). It does open up the possibility for artistic freedom (and to make difficult things a bit more my level 8D ). The patterns for both the cape and the tabard were drafted with the help of various online sources and made with white terlenka. The fabric is a bit more forgiving than cotton for capes and such, since it doesn’t wrinkle that easy~ ⚔️ I did add my signature satin-stitching application for a bit more oomph. Made with black terlenka, ironed on with vlies-o-fix and stitched with a silver grey border. The crosses are modeled after the iron cross. I’m not sure it existed during the time of the crusades, but since it is a Prussian symbol, it fitted the character quite well. (it’s origin is not German and it’s definitely not a hate symbol, though it tends to get appropriated for such purposes, unfortunately…) ⚔️ Swipe to the back for those scrunchy artworks (of scrunkly little Prussia xD ). I do have to say, the anime screenshot is newer (from 2016-ish), so some colour choices might be off. It wasn’t often that Gilbert would take the young nation out on a ship off to sea. Ludwig couldn’t help but marvel and be wary of the rising waves and coming storms. It was beckoning to him.

Currently talking about the Weimar Republic in history class and I got more Prussia lore to share:

Historically Prussia was left-leaning (SPD) in the 20s so as a result of the Preußenschlag (1932) his special privileges were removed and he was de facto dissolved. Has something to do with the SS and SA being allowed again and some talks between Hindenburg, Hitler and some other guys and the genral shithole the republic was in.

I like to present Prussia as monarchist-conservative but perhaps it does still work with history if he decides that a proper democracy would save him from that shit so he briefly supports the SPD. So yea Gilbert's leaning left (totally refuses to fall left because he is watching the USSR with dislike) which OBVIOUSLY doesnt work with the NSDAP.Besides all the not european stuff, being religious, being to some degree disabled and so on. SO yea! Thats what I basically have but in much more detail.

More will follow as we soon reach WW2 (prior to that the entire enabling tho) and I hope I'll share more torment for Prussia!

(btw this entire construct is why I absolutely hate any trope whether in fanfics or pictures with Gilbert being in any way a Nazi or seen with them. It doesn't make sense. In any way. Ludwig is a different talk, its a bit more nuanced (aka just dont do romantization) but hell not with Gilbert?? Its something different if he is forced to fight with the Wehrmacht because hes invincible and the Wehrmacht had to give up the purity idea in the war but like- ??? Some dudes really have no brain and I hate it. (very common in RusPru btw...))

First day of spring? That means it’s only 223 days until Halloween! 8D

One day I will have an appropriate outfit for the time of the year, but today is not that day, so let’s look at what I got instead xD

I was really happy with the Halloween outfit that was designed for Prussia, since hoodies are still way simpler than some other outfits that get designed. So this time, I made the actual hoodie myself! It wasn’t easy, but not measuring correctly and not knowing how to properly install a zipper makes things more difficult than they are. Whoops. Good thing the satin stitching saved the day, because I still really like those details~

The hoodie and the tail were the only things I made in 2011. They were made out of fleece, since that was still the fabric I was most comfortable with. The T-shirt was made a few years later, when I finally found striped jersey fabric with broad stripes instead of the smaller ones (and learned how to sew with knits). The fork was made in 2011 with PVC pipes and paper maché. It was not that great, so I remade it back in 2017 (dremeling off paper maché makes such a mess xD ). I still have to do some painting, so it's not sealed yet. (one day, one day for sure!)
